So I'm home from AZ. Haven't been here for about 7yrs, & it's been an even longer time since coming to Port Huron. Up here to hang out w/ my awesome niece & nephew they bring me here. I ordered the Fried Fish sandwich & had the Mushroom soup w/ it. Boy that soup was some of the best I've had. Can't wait to come back & have more. Thanks for the great service too!!
Unfortunately poutine was a major disappointment. The small handful of fries half were double dipped meaning pre cooked then reheated to join the few barely cooked. So little gravy the cheese curds stayed firm ordered side of gravy still to watery to stick long enough to melt the cheese even a bit. Turned into slopy soup.

Tonight I ordered the "damn hot" Nashville Chicken sandwich despite the repeated warnings of the kind lady who took our order. It was, in fact, hotter than I expected. For the record I did not need milk, and only used half a box of tissues. Maybe just hot next time...
Not like the one that was in the South. Can be loud, and depending on time or day, seating may be an issue. 4 stars for food, only because they no longer have a grill and half the family liked the burgers. Service is always friendly, and I never really had trouble there with it. Overall, it's decent, but depending on time and day or what you're after, it may be tasking.
Had dinner with my wife and parents here recently and it was beyond excellent. One lady serving the entire place and she was doing an excellent job. Food was unreal and was the first time I ever had their wings which were awesome. Wish they would reconsider opening one or two days during the week for lunch.
For tonight's meal, we added on an order of waffle fries that were over $7+tax.....well, they were terrible. They were so hard and crunchy, not enjoyable at all. And the miniscule portion for that price was ridiculous (see photo). I won't be ordering the waffle fries again. We do love the broaster chicken, however, I had to ask for honey tonight; they didn't originally include it.

McCarthy s has hands down the best fried chicken in town, prices are very reasonable and staff is always quite friendly.

Ordered takeout tonight from McCarthy s Southside. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. Called the number again and was told Southside has been closed since February. Google still shows that Southside is still open. Now I had to waste gas driving across the city to pick up my food that is no longer hot.

The boneless wings were dried up chicken chunks with barely any batter & next to no honey/garlic coating. And, the fries have changed.. they look like McDs fries but definitely are not as good. I loved the original fries.. what happened to them? Please bring them back! Not only that.. the batter has changed, and/or there is less of it(on the chicken). However, it is still better than a major competitor, only because theirs is too greasy for my liking/health. Well be back when you get things back to normal.
When I called in my food order I thought j was calling in Southside, but its closed so they transferred number to Cathcart and colborne. Would have been nice to know as I drove to both locations. I was shocked at price change to family meal. Last time I ordered it was around 60 and the new price was just about 80. We will not be going back.

My wife and I ate in on a Friday night. Food and service were both good. Atmosphere less than ideal. 20+ men standing/drinking around the bar. Very noisy and raucous. I might do take out but will never eat in the restaurant again.

Nice fry chicken
We paid $70 after delivery to corunna for 2 chicken in the rough dinners last night and they were not edible. The outside of the chicken was burnt & the inside chicken was still pink. Even the rolls were overcooked. Very disappointing.

What a fabulous meal! The chicken is perfect....even two days later! Huge portions and the service is spot on! Perfect mix of knowledge and personality!!!!!!

Went there to have late lunch with my wife at 3:00 to find out theyre not open till 4:00 need to update your web page says youre open at 11:00 at that location
Ordered: $40 worth of chicken and a medium coleslaw. Received: 6 pieces of chicken, 3 of which were wings, a medium order of french fries, three small coleslaw.... This was to feed four adults. We had made our own fries, which is the reason we did not order any. So disappointing, the fries went in the garbage and the chicken was mediocre at the very best.

I have frequented Chicken in the Rough for years with my family and it has always been amazing until tonight. I ordered take out and the girl was awesome on the phone taking my order but I did hear the cook in the background tell her that they are gonna run out of chicken. I picked up my order and went home to eat to see that they replace the white meat rib piece (which happens to be my favourite piece as I am not a fan of dark meat) with a chicken leg! The chicken was way over cooked and dry. Tasted like it was from this afternoon but reheated. Needless to say, I was very underwhelmed and will not likely order take out from there again. It saddens me to write this as I have always been a big fan ..
We enjoyed are dinner. Staff very friendly and attentive. Even though there was only one server we didnt wait for anything. She kept apologizing but it wasnt necessary. Will definitely return.
Chicken was greasy and disgusting. Wings were fatty and rubbery. Fries were cold and gross. Onion chips were pretty good though. Very disappointed overall, especially for the price.
Got the family pack worst food I ever had will not order from there ever again they lost my business. Not impressed Marty!!!

Have been craving their chicken-in-the-rough Chicken basket and finally ordered and picked some up for dinner tonight. Yum! Very satisfying and it was a simple wait and pay in the foyer (one at a time) at our pick up time. Confederation location only at this time!
If youre in the Sarnia/Port Huron area check out Chicken in The Rough its super yummy. Known for their fried chicken and confirmed by Sis who said, they make the Best fried chicken. I mean when someone who has a discerning palate tells me something is the best my ears perk up and my mind has one track. Come Hell or high water I will be eating in said establishment.

World Famous Chicken. When ordering the chicken dinners it takes approximately 20 minutes to get your food which I have no problem with because you know its fresh and cooked properly. Ive been there multiple times and 95% of time wait staff are great only once did I have a waitress that just didnt seem like she wanted to be there and definitely not very helpful
The 3 star ranking is for how good the chicken is there. I d give it more stars if it didn t feel so much like a biker bar.
The service was great but the Chicken & fries were nothing special. The meal was alright & there was a lot of food. You wont leave hungry.

This place is a real hidden gem in Sarnia and I feel slightly ashamed that I forget about it from time to time. I highly recommend the chicken wings or fried chicken and the meal combos you can get with the fried chicken. Way better than KFC or just about any other place like that.
