Attended my grandmothers 90th birthday party dinner there is about 15 people total and the waitress had completely ignored me the entire meal took everyones order but mine my mom had to butt in and place my order for me never once did I get a table check to see how my meal was or if I needed anything. I got one small ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and ended up filling up on the bread that was on the table. My dad got his meal and immediately asked for more french fries and the waitress thought he was joking she said and thats why she didnt place the order for more fries. Not sure how that could be interpreted as a joke obviously he was serious and wanted more fries because there wasnt enough on his plate similar to my mashed potato situation. The vegetables for way overcooked and look like theyve been in a massive pan just sitting in a pan on a hot make line for the entire afternoon and then served at night. The food was horrible and way overpriced never going back. What a joke.

We had dinner at Waggs August 28th. (It was our 54th wedding anniversay). We have been a few times and the food and service has always been very good. However, this time our waitress had a very bad attitude. I dont think that she wanted to be there ! She all but threw our salad and steak dinner at us. Absolutley no personality and should not be in the service industry. We will visit Waggs again but we wont have Carolynn T for our waitress.

Second time and no disappointments there! Food is amazing and staff is fast friendly and on point. Will definitely make the drive down to Sarnia to enjoy another meal.

Wonderful spot to eat in Sarnia. Affordable and generous portions! Excellent crab cakes and calamari. The panfried pickerel and seafood linguine were both delicious! Recommend this restaurant for tourists visiting the beautiful Lake Huron!

Ordered online. (3 stars) 1 pime rib dinner and 1 New York strip steak dinner. They where both raw when asked for medium and medium well. No rolls came with our dinners. Very dissatisfied! Ordered again with a much better experience, both prime rib and steak where cooked to perfection. The 2x baked potatoes where fantastic. They sent rolls this time. Ive changed my review to 5 star as they totally have made my night and impressed my guests!

Wow this hidden gem in downtown sarnia was amazing we were in town staying in the hotel next door for ribfest. They accompanied us were we got the last seat at 6:00. Can t wait to come back next year! Thanks guys no wonder your busy

70th anniversary for my parents food was excellent service as great

Been going to waggs with family n friends for years .we are one of the oldest and largest family in Sarnia Tonight I was waited on a waitress that was so incredibly rude and quite frankly could have used a good shower ..the classless n pettiness I experienced from another woman was shameful honestly if you a half decent looking woman with a big smile on your face and kindness in your heart this is not the place for you I ordered prime rib medium well it was done raw ..I expect that was deliberate I m a 64 year old woman who got no respect we will not ever go back if you think one bad review can not make or break you think again

I booked reservations for 4 here for my sons 22nd birthday. Waggs reputation for excellent food has been around for years, specializing in beef prime rib, steak and seafood. Our meals were excellent and perfectly prepared. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu when we asked questions. Its not inexpensive, but we stuck to mostly the regular menu. We even ordered a couple of appetizers, an alcoholic beverage for my son and myself, and 2 sodas for his girlfriend. The bill worked out to a little over $50/person after tax but before gratuity. Imho, I think we received good value for our money because of the quality of the food and the customer service. The only thing Im knocking them down 1 star on, is atmosphere, and you can take this with a grain of salt. I found it difficult to see the menu and, in the end, the final bill. I found the place overall, was too dimly lit. Not enough lighting. Some might call it romantic. I personally, dont care for it. But thats just me. Besides that, the dining experience was exemplary, and I would definitely eat there again.

Waitress was very scattered. Talking like she was always in a rush. When we ordered, we all had to repeat ourselves, felt like she wasn t listening. It wasn t too loud to hear as we were in a private room.. she forgot who ordered which meal when they came to the table. Didn t know who s salad/soup was who s.. I sympathize that it was busy, but everything she said or did was rushy and in a huff.. I felt like we were being pushed out the door as fast as possible the food was incredible and the atmosphere is lovely.. service was sub-par

We had just left the courthouse and were looking for a nice bite before heading home. They were only a few minutes away and had good reviews. We arrived admittedly early on a Tuesday around 3:30. Theresa was more than ready and we both took the special she recommended. The food was amazing, the service was delightful, attentive, and very quick. For so early a meal, one might expect it to not be so on point , but all was excellent. Let me start off saying the food was of excellent quality and well worth the price. The problems I found were with the atmosphere. We were canned in like sardines with little to no room and the chairs were horrible to sit on while waiting for our food (which took around an hour and fifteen minutes to recieve). I was so excited to finish my meal because that meant I didnt have to sit in those chairs anymore which is never a fun feeling. Our server was lovely and despite the longer wait she made the time spent waiting much more enjoyable.

Two days before Christmas we had pretty bad weather. A friend and I decided to order from Waggs, as a treat and walk over to get our food as we are very close. What a meal!! I always take family here for special occasions as all their food is fantastic! Never have I had a bad experience here, as the staff are always very helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a finer dining experience.

Best prime rib in town

Steak was overcooked, and both orders came out incorrect. The ceaser salad was to have no croutons because of a gluten allergy. It came out with croutons. Do not recommend it to anyone. Was supposed to be a special valentines meal. It was just an overpriced mediocre meal. Dietary restrictions: Very few / no gluten-free options for lunch.

I drove down from Toronto for three hours to explore sarnia. And came across this highly rated restaurant. The host was very nice. The food was good too. Ordered some steak and seafood linguini. I noticed something weird that our server didn t give us bread. Every table that was coming in was being served bread right away but for some reason none was given to us. I wonder why!

Ordered 2 prime rib super cut dinners for take out. Requested rare for both, picked them up and tipped 20%. Got home( live 20 min away) and one was an end cut med well and the other also med to med well. Called to express my concern and was told that the cooks pack it up so the server wasn t responsible. Oh well. I first emailed the restaurant but got no response, thus this review. I just can t get my head around why they would serve an end cut when ordered rare. Disappointing.

Excellent food, service for a celebration.

Very good food and nice staff

This place is so hit and miss. I was completely ignored last friday when I arrived. There were 2 young women employees gossiping and took nearly 7 mins just to get noticed and seated. I was then brought to a table and was ignored for 20 mins. 3 different wait staff passed by me and none of the acknowledged me or took my order for a drink. A table of 4 was seated after me and a server went to them right away. I decided to just leave at this point and no one even bothered to make eye contact on the way out either. Maybe the brunette hostess should spend less time on over-doing her clown makeup and actually have some integrity and put some effort into doing her job.

Best food in town .

Hit and miss Restaurant Went last night to celebrate our Anniversary and was very disappointed with our dinner. Our meals came out cold, New York Strip was terrible and the vegetables overcooked. This spoiled a great evening. Waggs you need to do better.

We went to celebrate my sisters 60th Birthday. The service was excellent. My prime rib was very good. The baked potato and vegetables were delicious. I would recommend Waggs to friends and family. Kid-friendliness: We had three young children in our group and seating all of them was very good.

We have had nothing but the best of food, service and atmosphere. We were celebrating our 52nd anniversary and made reservations about a week ago. It was a wonderful meal from start to finish. Our server was superspendifullous. A great time and we both came out totally satisfied with another memorable meal at Waggs.

My Husband and I went to Waggs for our anniversary, our waitress Donna Bruce was absolutely wonderful! She was attentive, kind and very considerate of our needs. We will certainly be back! Thanks Donna, you were wonderful to deal with!

I m leaving this review for the hospitality and service of this place. We drove all the way from Chatham after finding this place on Google maps to celebrate my cousin s 50th birthday. We were aware they closed at 8pm but we arrived at 7:47pm. One of the hostesses came out and greeted us and asked what we wanted to do whether dine in or order to take out. We stated we preferred to dine in but what they didn t realize was that we would have ordered take out. Before she could respond, another lady came out from the back and began yelling at her in front of us stating that the kitchen was closed and everything was off. If we choose to stay to dine in, it would be for drinks only. So if you are wanting to choose to eat at this place, make sure you come before 730pm because they stop serving patrons and apparently start closing their kitchen down at that time and not at 8pm like their hours state. They should change their hours of service. I have never experienced people who didn t want to work and turn down money, in my life the way I just seen. After the pandemic, this attitude grew rapidly along with respectable customer service because this woman who had brown hair and was thin build, was VERY RUDE! Such a shame because we really wanted to try the good food that we seen online. And I knew that woman was lying saying the kitchen was down and she just didn t want to serve us. If that was the case, she shouldn t have even offered us to drink since they were completely closed at 7:47pm.

The service overall was good because other people cleared our table and we could flag someone down and ask for what we needed but our server seemed new or over whelmed or both. She couldnt answer any question without going to ask someone else first, which is fine, it happens. Not that big of a deal. The food was okay. No major complaints, but not the caliber that the prices would indicate.

Wildly overpriced, but I guess its the only game in town? The food is tasty enough, but nothing special. Just the basics, no creativity. Over $15 for five coconut shrimp from the freezer is exorbitant. The salad portions are sparing. The price of the lobster and crab is very very high indeed considering the portion and just not quite worth it. Service was friendly and quick, though, no problems there.

This Tuesday after Labour Day business was unusually slow. I enjoyed a nice beef sandwich with fries and my wife battered fish and chips.

I was attending a group function .. everything was excellent.

We had guests from Denmark & they asked me to make reservations at the best steak house in our city/area. Waggs was the first place that came to my mind & I called. My cousins were extremely happy with their meals, as well as, the rest of us in our party of five. The prime rib was cooked to perfection for all of us & of course the rest of the meal was excellent as well. I only have one little thing that annoyed us throughout the meal, it was so loud we couldnt have a conversation without raising our voices, almost to the point of yelling at each other & the server. We left after the main dish & skipped dessert becase the ambiance wasnt conducive to having conversation, while enjoying the delicious food.

We were a party of 18, gathered to enjoy a meal together prior to Christmas! Staff was excellent, attentive, even though the restaurant was near capacity & our meals were served in a steady stream once the 1st was delivered until the last was on the table! The food was excellent! At times the volume of conversations were loud enough to make hearing difficult across the tables. Celebrated a friends anniversary with a total of 18 people attending & despite the couple of honour over half an hour late, staff was courteous & attentive to all as we waited their arrival before ordering! The was never feeling of being pushed to order & staff made sure a were happy! Orders were quickly taken & samads/soup were on the tables within minutes, with the entrées 15 mins later! There was a lot of confusion as to whom ordered what as they were brought out, it was sorted out quickly. A cake brought in by family was stored by staff & brought out to be cut by the couples children. Cheques were delivered after the cake! As usual, Waggs food & staff were excellent!!!

There is no question the food was delicious. The ambience, on the other hand, is okay. I think a place that charges $35 for a plate of food should offer cutlery that is not falling apart and does not look like it was taken from their mom s kitchen cabinets. It was old, plastic, and looking bad. I would not use them at home, much less in an expensive restaurant. The dessert menu is disappointing to say the minimum. For a similar pricing, much nicer ambience, and good quality food, you might want to drive a few more blocks and stop at Legacy restaurant.

Excellent food! Excellent service! Reasonably priced. I had Honey Glazed Atlantic Salmon and it was amazing! While in town, I Googled reviews and I was not disappointed. Dont get fooled by the building exterior and some-what outdated interior (I almost was) ... if you are looking for delicious meal - this place certainly has it!

Stopped in here a couple weeks ago I ordered the steak, veggies and rice with a starter ceasar salad! It was absolutely amazing. Heaping ceasar salad, the rice tasted as though it was marinated and perfectly cooked. Veggies and steak were some of the best Ive had. Compliments to the chef working. Service was great, fresh newer looking restaurant with great ambiance, was actually impressed.

We had a great experience at Waggs last night celebrating four April birthdays. Our waitress was great as was the food. I was slightly disappointed though when the waitress asked management about our birthdays & they only sent two special deserts over when four of us are born in April. Other than that great food & service. Our waitress even took a picture of our table. Thankyou

I just love having multiple staff and servers pass us by not paying us any attention. The lack of a host station doesnt help. After waiting and being ignored we all just left. The prices reflect high quality food but the staff and resturant do not reflect this.

For a fine dining place I expected more. The food was just average. I am big on flavor and this lacked some of that. To be fair my standards are high so please go try and judge for yourself

Had the prime rib, it was cooked perfectly and was a generous size cut. Our server was very friendly and professional. Also had the escargot stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and it was cooked perfectly as well. No rubbery texture at all and tasted amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Waggs is hands down the best place to get prime rib in Sarnia. The last time we went for dinner, not needing a menu at all....we knew what we wanted! It was excellent as usual, and the only thing I shouldve changed was getting a bigger portion of prime rib so I could take some home. See you tonight, my mouth is already was watering...YUMMMMMM Highly recommend this restaurant, they dont disappoint.

This place is usually amazing, however I went their last night with my mom and got the prime rib dinner, asked for medium rare, they brought out medium well, when I complained and said it tastes gross, that the steak was overdone and was dry, the lady told me that medium well doesn t taste any different then medium rare, I argued for a min but then she began to tell me that she has been in the restaurant business for a lot of years and is actually the owner of this establishment, she was not happy with me, but to their credit they did replace my steak with another one that was medium rare and very delicious. Unfortunately the way she treated my complaint was not very nice and I hope she can treat others with respect next time there is an issue.

Went there last night with my son. Would give the food a 3 out of 10. My son Ordered prime rib medium rare and got it closer to well done. Had to call the waitress attention to it as she didn t check to see how our food was. They bought another piece that was closer to medium rare which made a big difference. Than the owner tried to tell us that both prime ribs would still taste the same. Not sure what point she was trying to make . No I m sorry. My ribs were ok but I have certainly tasted better. The vegetables were lukewarm. The salad uses the cheap iceberg lettuce.I ve had better service and better food . Definitely not worth a return trip for me.

Its been a while since I have been to Waggs Steakhouse...so glad we made the return trip! We had Jody as our server and she was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge of the food offerings, her welcomed sense of humour, and her professionalism made for a perfect dining experience for us. We were celebrating and Jody made our time even that much better. The refreshed decor looks fantastic, nicely done! Highly recommend this locale to anyone wanting a great steak dinner in a welcoming atmosphere. Sorry no pics, too busy enjoying! ;)

My husband & I were treated to dinner at Waggs this past weekend by our family for our 60th wedding anniversary. The service, the menu and the food were excellent and enjoyed by all. Thank you. I would like to mention one thing - accessibility for handicapped patrons. My husband needs a walker for mobility and the front door is not easily accessible. Just a warning to others who plan to attend this fine restaurant in Sarnia. Be prepared to ask for assistance.

Great experience, I have been here many times before and they always live up to expectations. It was a packed house but the server was quick and on her feet and I think it was about 20 minutes between being seated and our appetizer being at our table and this place was packed front to back. The mains were very good, my girlfriend for the chicken parmesan and I got the house special (prime rib roast), both I would highly recommend. All and all it was a great evening with great food and exceptional service. Thanks for having us.

Took my mother here for a steak. The food was underwhelming and unseasoned. I got a filet with vegetables and mashed potatoes, and a house salad. The vegetables were blanched, with no seasoning, and tasted bland and boring. The mashed potatoes were also bland. The steak was mediocre. While Waggs used to be the place to go, their lack of flavor and seasoning makes me question if it will be able to stay alive much longer as its target crowd ages.

Took my family to Waggs restaurant for a celebration meal and it was amazing!! The restaurant was quite busy however our waitress did a fantastic job and her service was impeccable! As for the food....WOW! My daughters had the maple glazed salmon with rice, this is a MUST try, so tender and tasty. We also had the BBQ Ribs (best ribs in town!), the stuffed cordon bleu with the mushroom sauce (melts in your mouth), the Seafood pasta which had the best sauce he had ever tasted...and he is Italian!! and I had the Prime Rib special with fried shrimp...Ah-May-Zing, you will not find a better Prime Rib meal in Sarnia! The meals were all hot, portions were excellent and presentation was all that you would find at such a fine dining restaurant and at a very reasonable price! Waggs Steakhouse is definitely the best fine dining restaurant in Sarnia, do yourself a favor and check it out!

The service was probably the best part of the restaurant. The atmosphere is pretty cheap as youd expect since its in a motel 8. The food was nothing special at all.

All aspects were perfect. The best dining experience I can ever remember.

Had 5pm reservations. The Loaded Potato soup was sooo good!!, Prime Rib was the main with assorted yummy vegetables & potatoes were Red ones mashed with garlic, I loved them..... Highly Recommend visiting Waggs for all on menu.
