Bakery specializing in pizza, ramen and donuts in downtown Sarnia
I have been to Honestly Dough a handful of times, and each experience has been wonderful. We had HD cater our work Christmas party and it did not disappoint. 10/10 recommend
Such a cool spot downtown. The second you walk in the smell hits you.. it’s SO good! I love how you can see the bakers doing their thing through the windows in the back. Their donuts are incredible, with a little more heft and substance to them than other places. Service is always super quick too. I wish they had the honey crueller all the time because it’s my fave, and has LOTS of icing on it (preferred!). This place is definitely a downtown must-visit.
Went in on a whim with a friend. Couple of people in front of us. Got to the counter and asked what they had to offer since our first time. The young girl with the long finger nails, didn't even make eye contact and said "On the board behind me". My friend and I looked at each other and were shocked at her attitude. We then asked how much an item was that was sitting on the counter (unsure what it was called but looked like chocolate on the top and maybe brownie like?) and she responded "I don't know but it's on the boards behind me" AGAIN not looking at us. Not sure if she had a phone hidden below and facing it, but she was not interested in assisting us at all. Looking at the chalkboards can be a bit overwhelming as not sure what is posted where and unsure what all the desserts were called. I just ordered 3 donuts and my friend ordered some donuts and two of the desserts on the counter. We paid and left pissed off with the whole experience. Then, my friend got home and opened the two mysterious desserts she bought only to find that long finger-nail, attitude girl had stacked one on top of the other and they melded together and ended up in the garbage, as they were for an elderly lady as a nice treat. I called and left phone messages and sent Messenger messages for just over one month before owner Tyler returned my message. Tyler called and I let him know of our first (and last) experience there. He said he knew who served us and would speak to her. I was disappointed that there was no incentive offered to return (at least replace my friend's two specialty desserts that were packaged improperly and were a gift for an elderly lady). My friend was also surprised there was no incentive to return. If a place of business messes up or damages an order, they should make some sort of offer to rectify. "What can we do for you to give us another try? Or the like! The owner Tyler was absolutely not interested in doing so. And, I felt that he was not sincerely interested about my feedback and just wanted to get off the phone, after blaming their social media person as the root cause of the ongoing delay in returning my calls and FB messages. Honestly, we haven't been back to Honestly Dough. And, I don't get the impression that they really care.
We sat in the restaurant across the street watching as people continued to come and go from this place. We decided to go pick up some donuts after our breakfast. The girl working the counter was amazing. Explained all of the bakery products. Told us about their delivery options. Even showed us that the dog have multiple options for their treats. Will definitely be trying their Ramon and pizza options.
Incredible place. If it has dough in it, they are doing it. From scratch noodles for the ramen. And the pork belly with it is cooked to perfection. We did the shoyu sauce and it was also just the right balance of flavor and depth. And then of course we had to have doughnuts!!! We did a sampler of their choices of the day - vanilla glaze, cinnamon sugar and mango glaze. All incredibly good! On our next visit, we will have the pizza!!! Must visit!!!
The Ramen was delicious. They make their own noodles, in house. Today's doughnut was mango, which did not disappoint. I also got some bread, and it was the best I've had in a long time. I've been meaning to check them out, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to do so this morning. Everything was so fresh, and oh so good.
Ramen is delicious. Doughnuts are delicious. I haven't tried the pizza yet but everyone I've talked to that has says it's amazing. Everyone is very friendly though.
Went right for the doughnuts! Walked by the freshness and could smell the goodness, so stopped, opened the door and walked into doughnut paradise;) Selection of the day was sugar cinnamon or vanilla and then a coffee one...did the first 2 and loved them! My 85yr young Mum loved them too! You are not walking into a chain venue, it's a local, small business...expect different and get excited about that! Loved the vibe, the warm welcome and the blissful doughnuts! See you again soon!
I had the marg and loaded pep pizza. Absolutely fantastic. Fresh ingredients. Good sauce. Great crust. Best in Sarnia!
Best Ramen Ive ever had!! Fresh ingredients, pork belly was amazing! Cant wait to try the pizza and doughnuts.
I loved this place
Mmmm... donuts! Doh! Honestly Doughs been playin hard to get, always sellin out before I could stuff my face. But today? Woo-hoo! Finally nabbed some! These are tasty! Soft, sweet, and gone fast! Word to the wise: ya gotta be quick to score these bad boys. They vanish faster than my last paycheck! Five outta five donuts!
The donuts are very airy but heavy at the same time - the dough just isn t it. It has really huge pockets of air, and the taste is just too oily. I wouldn t recommend
The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and was amazing with my child. When my child noticed an octopus painting the staff engaged her in conversation about the potential name of the octopus Kid-friendliness: Staff engaged with my child about naming the octopus in their painting
One will never be disappointed with the quality nor taste of these doughnuts
The best doughnut I have ever eaten. If I had a genie lamp I would wish for 3 more doughnuts.
Best doughnut Ive had by far. The focaccia bread pizza was also a huge hit!
Really enjoyed the pizza & it was the best doughnut I ve ever had!!!!! The customer service was on point!!
Honesty, the worst ramen ever .
Donuts are always top shelf - light and flakey and a yummy, unique texture. We ordered the Father s Day prepared ribs meal and it was so, so good. Really great selection of sides and a really good serving size - did not disappoint, can t wait to try the next ones!
The pretzels & dipping sauce, divine
Next level doughnuts, sourdough pizza, and house made noodles? These guys are pros and you can taste the culinary expertise that goes into their product. We only sampled the baked goods, but will be back for ramen & pizza just off the quality of their pastry. You know everything they make is going to be insanely good. The punk rock and Caseys (KCs?) outgoing service = cherry on top. Super impressed, and so glad we found them while exploring the city.
High quality ingredients, delicious, fair price and local. Definitely recommend. Had a slice of their Margherita on Focaccia...crispy and deep flavour.
Amazing donuts! And everyone in there is really nice. Ill definitely be back!
Awesome ! Best Donut i can remember having! Food
That was the best donut I ve ever had in my 26 years of living.
They sell out of doughnuts early in the day so unless youre unemployed or working nights good luck
My daughter and I enjoyed our cinnamon donuts. Freshly made
The pizza was absolutely amazing, definitely wanna go back and get their ramen and maybe some donuts.
Doughnuts are a must try! Delicious Unfortunately tried to call 3 separate occasions but no answer. Still walked in and able to secure a dozen doughnuts in the morning/ early afternoon
Hands down the best donuts I have ever had! Yes, maybe the demand is higher than the supply right now, but thats a great sign for a locally owned business startup. Dont listen to the haters comments, give these guys a chance to get established and grow. 5 stars for donuts. I had a pleasant interaction but took my work treats to go so I cant comment on atmosphere.
The absolute best Ramen Ive ever had. and the donuts are unreal! Ive also previously enjoyed the pizza bread. Small shop with incredibly high end cooking. Still in soft launch stage, but I know this company. is going to be a staple in Sarnia.
Stopped by today and picked up an assortment of their doughnuts and ramen. Have not tried the Ramen yet till supper time . But the doughnuts were amazing!
I ordered the shoyu (chicken and duck broth ramen) with all of the toppings to go. It was amazing. The toppings and broth came in separate containers to keep everything fresh. I can not recommend it enough. The pork belly, half egg and broth were the stars of the show. My wife and her friend each got a glazed doughnut. Their concensus was that it was like crispy cream but better. I will definitely be back.
The ramen was good but 25$ for the portion size you get is robbery. robbery glorified soup.
I ve had 2 wood-fired pizzas which were excellent and a little cheaper than the going rate for same style locally. Chewy thin crust. Just had a donut. Outstanding. The guy out front is a nice, pleasant fellow. There s no reason this place should have anything less than 4 stars. It s a small business - be patient.
The best donuts Ive ever had!! Cant wait to try their pizza and ramen!
Delicious vegan ramen! My daughter had a donut and said it was the BEST she has ever tasted! We will definitely be back!
What are you waiting for?!?!? Get there and try these donuts!!!!
Food was fantastic. We had the ramen and bread pizza and would recommend to anyone who appreciates food that focuses on high quality fresh ingredients. Will be back for sure!
Awesome
Went after work got to the store at 7 after trying to call at 6:40. The recorded message on the phone said they close at 8. I tried to place an order over the phone but they didnt answer. Rushed over after I was done work as I hate being the person to order last minute. Got there at 7 as I mentioned and they were closed already. Why does your phones recorded message say you close at 8 if you close earlier? I was looking so forward to having some ramen to be let down. Will update if I am able to either try their food or have an explanation as to why this happend. Update: I got to try the food! The ramen is very expensive for what you get and the toppings are not what you might usually expect. The noodles and broth were both disappointing. Customer service is still a little lacking but over all not bad. Probably wont go back for ramen but curious as to what their other options are like.
I have tried alot of Ramen and this takes the cake as most expensive by a land slide. It was also the least satisfying, non-authentic and smallest portion by far. I would suggest save your money and make some Mr. Noodles! On the plus side the donuts are OK but very inconvenient having to go in and place an order. Very limited on selection in store! The men gave a sad story on how over worked they were with no rest trying to fish to get pitty orders!
Been waiting to try, did not disappoint. My wife and I tried their specialty pizza. We had a pepperoni and a honey truffle mushroom and goat cheese. It was so good crust was thin and crisp but chewy. Cant wait to try Romen and donuts. Great job!! Very friendly and good service.
I went in today to pick up lunch for my sister and I and ordered us both a ramen. Had a great chat with who I m assuming is one of the owners and food was ready quickly. The ramen was delicious and we can t wait to try their donuts and pizza. Will definitely be going back!
Had the ramen today for lunch! The ingredients were fresh, well presented & so tasty. Always happy to see new businesses come to Sarnia, and I m looking forward to trying the other items on their menu. YUM !
Went in for a donut but they are a hot commodity right now!! After checking out the menu I decided on a slice of pizza bread. It was the most delicious focaccia topped with sauce, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. Baked fresh to order. I swear I could eat an entire pizza made of that bread. So good! I will definitely be back. Hopefully to get a donut next time!
