I’ve been coming to this Venice House for years, definitely earned their place as a local favorite. The pizza here is always a crowd-pleaser but my personal favorite is the Tuscan Spaghetti, highly recommend! Vibe is cozy with a bit of old school charm- Servers are always friendly and personable 🙌🍕
We came to Venice House for their event room for a family reunion. The parking situation is basically street parking. We got free parking but I think depending on the time of day and day of the week it’s paid. Be mindful of this per signage. The restaurant is older in appearance and very much homestyle in nature. They seem to have a bit of everything and no specialty items to stand out for. The event room is large, the whole place seems to need some remodeling. Older carpets and the walls seem to be in need of a deep clean (unless the matte appearing smudges along the upper area is intentional?). We had water spaced out and utensils at the ready. We arrived at different times which lead to orders being taken at different times and food arriving in a similar fashion. I imagine this helped staff keep from being overwhelmed but it was a bit difficult to know when to anticipate our food. The staff was lacking- where we would’ve wanted more drinks to order they weren’t around enough or available to order more and we weren’t in the business of chasing them outside of the event room. Staff was friendly and did their best but it was a really odd disjointed experience for the sake of the restaurant. I had the calzone and the Cesar salad meal option. The salad was really good- drenched in dressing and it was well done. The calzone was interesting. I had ordered no onions but in the whole busy ordeal that was missed. Not a big deal. I thought it would’ve been a deep fried calzone but it was baked and had openings to see the interior. The crust was nice- a mix of soft and crispy where it needs to be. It was cooked throughout. There wasn’t an overwhelming amount of one ingredient over the other. The pizza sauce was on the sweeter side which wasn’t my favourite. It was decent- but not the place I’d go for pizza or calzones if I had a craving. It did not make for tasty leftovers. All in all- I would not return here specifically to eat. I would if they had another family reunion event here but I would not be coming for the food. The staff did the best they could and managed clean up well. They also stayed organized in our orders and payments which was nice. Very friendly. I just think there’s room for improvement.
Worst customer service ever!! First off, my family and I have been going to this restaurant for OVER 30 years! We’ve ordered takeout from here numerous times and they always seem to forget something - dip, salad, garlic toast, etc. We live on the opposite side of the city so normally we’ve just sucked it up and not bothered to call to say anything because it’s too far to drive back to pick up what they’ve forgotten. This last take out order put me over the edge. My husband specifically called back a second time to tell them to MAKE SURE the dill dip was in the bag and they assured him it WAS. Get home and of course NO DILL DIP for the chicken fingers. So we’re left to eat dry hard crusty chicken fingers. I called to let them know and they said they can credit us back “a dollar” if we want to drive across the city for our refund otherwise there’s “nothing they can do”. Wow a whole dollar, how generous 🙄 It wasn’t about the money, it’s the fact that they cannot figure out how to properly package a to-go order and ALWAYS forget something every time which is a huge inconvenience and upsetting when you’re paying for something and not getting it. I asked to talk to a manager and another girl came on the phone saying the manager isn’t in and they can get someone to call me back the next day. Shocker no one called me back! They really don’t care about their customers. Like I said I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 30 years but I’m definitely not going back. I try to support local businesses but why bother when they can’t be bothered to provide good customer service? Tried out the Cave last weekend so I think that will be our new go to spot for Greek food from now on. PLUS their pizza is actually way better!!
It was not busy in the restaurant area. They did however have some event in an adjoining room. We were seated and shortly after a young gentleman was seated two down from us. Our order was taken. His was not. I’m writing this because the young man kept looking at his watch and asked to see the manager at least 4 times. He was told that the manager was at the back and was coming. The manager never showed and this young man had already waited 40 minutes without any help. The young man finally had to leave. No manager showed up! No one took his order! This is terrible.We had cold soup, small portions and just doesn’t taste like it used to. The photos show that the place was not busy!
Arrived at 3:45 and waited for 5 minutes to even see a server to be seated. Got the perogy/sausage/cabbage roll platter and it was pretty good!
Friendly service and nicely plated meals. Meals arrived in about 15 minutes. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a steak sandwich. The pulled pork was not the best but not the worst we have had. The steak sandwich was pretty good. The sides of Greek and fries were standard.
Great customer service, we greeted with a smile and placed in a seat. The atmosphere was welcoming and wasn't as packed as I thought because we went there at lunch time. We ordered drinks and our meals and they come out rather quicker than a few other places we've been. The drinks were awesome and the food was delicious. I would recommend you stop and grab a bite.
The restaurant was busy and service was stellar, food was tasty and came out quickly. Will return for sure.*** I did indeed return 2 more times since, again the food was delicious and served piping hot. Special shout out to Melissa for providing stellar service! Will return again. Fourth times a charm, repeat of the 3 previous visits again, food service stellar again. The last visit was just as good as all the others!
Had the pizza nooner which was amazing. The staff were very friendly. Good place to go.
Great people
I ordered food for delivery for my kids who i dont get to see for very long and only half my order showed up. When I called back I was told it would be 30-40 minutes. After asking to the manager and being put on hold for 5 min I was told that I would not be charged for delivery for the other half of my order (I live 5 blocks away). What a joke. Never eating there again .
Service has gone down hill. Got sat at 515. No one came to table until 535. We ordered food and drink right away since we had so much time to scan menu. Ordered easy meals si food came out within 15 mins. Tastes great. Then, waitress disappears. For over 30 mins no sight of her. Just wanted a box and bill thats all. Had to flag down another waitress who then went and found our waitress to bring what we needed. So... great food, terrible service As someone who was a waitress, manager for 21 years , I can say to all the young servers starting out, pay attention to your tables. Just walk by every 15 mins and ask if everything is ok.

Thank you Venice House in Warman from the New Horizon Senior Center in Martensville,for a great,delicious pizza supper you supplied for us this past Monday. Very tasty. We were all satisfied.Delivery time was right on and couldnt beat the price. Thanks Vic and staff.
We were a party of about 20, the waitress we had served all of us for the most part and she did a great job. A little confusion on who ordered what, but all in all good food and well priced

We have ordered from this place for decades and have always been happy. Tonight they sent us two of the same pizzas, not what we ordered. Neither of them had pizza sauce on them I called to let them know and the option we were given was to send them back, wait another 45 mins -1 hour for the right pizzas and pay another $6 for delivery .. or get half price off one of the pizzas next time we order !?!?!? Brutal service!!! This was not our error!! Put us in a very awkward position serving this to company.

The place is nice, mind you all the plants are dying, service was definitely not great, not to mention it was slow when we went. Maybe 3 tables at the most, including myself. Tables were stated to be sanitized but were not clean. All servers seemed displeased with new customers whom came in, service was next to nil and very slow, never came to see if you or your table needed anything before leaving. Staff should be more attentive and a lot more interactive plus friendly to the customers. The servers seemed stuck up and acted better then everyone. I would recommend the subway across the street more then this.

44.98 for a delivery pizza XL with virtually no pizza sauce. Really disappointing experience as the pizza was dry. Super weird
*editted my review to 1 star as the mgmt never did respond at all* There is no parking for handicap. My father, who is in his 80s, and has a prosthetic leg, and is on oxygen, had to try and walk from down the block, which completely winded him. The only reason I am giving 2 stars, instead of 1, is because the service was good, and the food was good, or so we thought. My dad had ordered Eggs Benedict. Within 2 hours after leaving the restaurant, he became extremely ill, which continued on for the next 3 days. When his wife called the restaurant a couple of days later and left a message for the manager to call her back, he never did. So she went to the restaurant and asked to speak with him, and he wouldnt come talk to her, so she informed the staff as to what the situation was. He never did contact her. This was a week and a half ago. My father is still not fully recovered. Something like this could have killed an elderly person that is not in great health. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone, due to the fact that the manager would not even try to talk to us. I am still considering posting a review on some of the large FB Restaurant Review groups to let others know of our experience.

One of the few remaining franchises to stick to the consistency of quality that all locations used to once offer, both the pizza and lunch entrees I ve tried hit the spot very nicely the chicken Mediterranean pizza is the most recommended!
Two of us stopped in at about 8:00 in the evening and about 12 other customers were there. Three significant issues!!! Had to get our own drinks and menus. Had to go to the bar to pay when finished. Discovered there was a nice special that night when we read it on the wall walking out. The food was good but obviously came from another portion of Venice House that actually cared about their customers as upstairs sure didnt give a s##t!!!!

We love coming to Venice House! We always get amazing service and the food is quite good. I really like the Greek chicken dish. Kid-friendliness: They have a good selection for kids and crayons and pictures to keep them busy
The dry ribs were unflavoured, the fries plain and the ceaser salad was swimming in ceaser sauce, was hungry but will never eat here again. Venice house is trash food.
The only reason its not 5 is because all I ever eat here is pizza. It is great pizza, some of the best in town. Lots of toppings, great suace to cheese ratio, great pizza. Some people think its too much toppings, I dont-piled toppings great ingredients.
For the last 3 years, every time we go to this restaurant the service is horrendous. We sit with menus from the hostess for over 30 minutes, the tap water they give you is like warm and melts the 4 ice cubes in 2 minutes. It takes another 20 minutes to get your drink orders and an additional 15 minutes for the server to take our meal orders. It is not a one time occurrence, we have tried about 6 times in the last three years and it happens every time. The food is good, so take out to your hearts content, if you can get anyone to answer the phone, or be ready to sit for 3 hours.

Ordered 2 baked onion soup, rueben sandwich with fries and gravy, perogy platter 2 pops came to 67.07 . The 2 onion soups were 19.96 alone. Sandra is as always awesome!

Delicious meals all around. I had the steak sandwich...it was super rare, but I like it that way, and seasoned wonderfully. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich which looked amazing. My daughter had the bacon breakfast poutine, which came in a giant bowl, so she had plenty of leftovers. The dry ribs and chicken fingers were also enjoyed. The server was very attentive and polite. I love the atmosphere there too...its a little gem in the city.

Best pizza on Central Avenue, if not Saskatoon
Came for a birthday supper, place was 1/4-1/3 full or so(1 group of 7 or 8 people and 6 or so other tables). Appeared to be 3 servers and a hostess working, recieved drinks quickly and then the serving staff didnt come back. After watching them walk back and forth to the kitchen we left no need to wait 25 minutes to have your order taken. We asked for our bill, and told her we were leaving due to slow service. She didnt apologize or offer anything other than well shes got a busy room.. As we were getting up from the table there were 3 or 4 people busily standing in kitchen entrance visiting. Paid for our 3 drinks that wed each had a sip or 2 out if and left...... Very disappointing
Great place in Sutherland. I always order pizza from here. I think their pizza sauce is one of THE BEST pizza sauces in the city of Saskatoon! I believe the only pizza sauce that rivals Venice House pizza sauce is my own recipe. Owners, if your interested in have a quick meet and greet, please contact me. Came to have dinner, and I got the fish and chips. Right as I got home I was vomiting up everything I ate, it s now been 3 days since eating at Venice house and I m still very very ill. Do not come here

No spinach dip. They took my order of spinach dip but after waiting 13:15s I was told no Spinach Dip. Waited another 10 minutes for 2 starters. Son was so hungry waiting he decided to snack on his ice.

We went there with colleagues for lunch. The atmosphere and service was good, but the food wasn t great ( I order the Venice burgers). I did not get wow from others as well! Paid street parking available but you might not get a spot close to the restaurant.

We were seated by a smiling friendly hostess and that is where it ends. 20 minutes and not even a glass of water. Others seemed to be getting service. At 20 minutes we said lets go, as we got up a waitress carrying 2 glasses of water smiles at us as we walk by and says have a great day. Are you serious?? Will not be going there again.
No sauce, crust was terrible and there was barely any toppings. Talked with manager, he didnt seem to care what I said. He repeatedly offered to send new food. I refused as why do I want more bad food? Maybe the chef needs to learn how to make Venice House Pizza! I have been a repeat customer for years. The last 3 times we have ordered it had progressively got worse. Very disappointing.

Its really amazing food I had in the Evening I order Fish and Chips, Garlic toast Steak Sandwiches and cheese pizza for my family they really enjoyed the food. I love it for sure best recommendation all of friends and colleagues to try it.

Best Minestrone soup in the city! They have 1L take out option available! Portions are large and reasonably priced. Food is very tasty. Service can be a little slow sometimes but we don t mind. Restaurant is a little aged and dark.

Not the best experience at Venice House recently. I think the salt got away from the Chef. I rarely send things back, but my greek ribs were crazy salty. Normally I think they are okay.
I ordered online for dinner to be delivered on Nov 3. They delivered it on Nov 1st when I wasn t home and offered me a 50% discount off my reorder for Friday. No refund of the original order. So I have to pay 150% of the order cost because of their mistake. Terrible customer service. Beware of ordering online. .update . They are now going to send my order when it is supposed to be delivered. I appreciate their adjustment to policy.

Sometimes good, sometimes meh. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold. Sometimes the correct order, sometimes it s wrong or missing items. Service is hit or miss. Drinks are hit or miss. But you always get a lot of food.
Been ordering from this location for over 20 years I ve noticed this order the portion on dry ribs dropped a lot Cesar salad not very good mostly stems restaurant seems tired probably time to try a new place ordered the dry ribs and Cesar salad again spent $80 on food I got 5 croutons in my salad time to rethink your cooks they seem very disinterested in customer service
I recently started ordering pizza from here and it s literally the best in the city. I also tried the garlic ribs appetizer and was a bit shocked that it was $20. After trying it, I d pay $100. lol The ribs were delicious and they gave you a HUGE portion. I also believe they were homemade. The hostess was also super friendly and efficient. 10/10

Tried calling several times to place a pickup order but no one answer the call. I decided to pickup pizza elsewhere but stopped in and placed order for Caesar salad in person. Ordered it with lots of Caesar dressing and when I got it home good thing I did as the salad was almost dry. They are very cheap on dressing. The salad with extra dressing was over $16. When I opened it it was almost like a small salad and I had ordered the full size. Also only 5 croutons in the entire salad. I stopped ordering from here a couple years ago and now I remember why. Way over priced for what you get and the service is terrible.
The waitress was more interested in talking with the other waitresses and the food was cold Ask for salt and pepper and she proceeded to take several payments before bringing me them from the table that was paying she was less than five steps from my table while the person was doing their interact portion she could have stepped over and given them to me First why are the salt and pepper not at the table and second why was the food so cold Rest assured I will not be back service is horrible and slow very very slow My food was cold as cold probably sat for pickup way toooooooooo long

The waitresses was trying her best but had to cover the entire main floor. Our brunch was greasy and when we told the waitress, her boss didnt charge us for it.

We ordered Venice house (on central ave) pizza for my birthday tonight because it used to be the best in town!! . Definitely has gone downhill. The past two times I have ordered it has been average at best. Skimpy on the toppings and $2 extra charge for extra sauce but hardly any sauce at all. At $54 for two larges (not even extra larges) this should still be best in town. After it being like this twice in a row Im done with them. Just fyi so you dont ever waste your money.
Prices were great, food was plentiful in portions as well as taste. Very nice decor, will visit again next time in Saskatoon. Visiting from Alberta.
Extremely slow delivery
orderd all meat pizza, dry ribs and fries. pizza was almost a cheese pizza on half, fries were soggy, dry ribs were soggy ribs with an unusual unpleasant flavour to half ish of them. no wonder the place is usually dead lately, last time i ate here over a year ago it was great food. this time i had trouble finishing it and im still hungry... 50$ well spent... not! oh and the salad had the same unusual taste as some of the ribs... weird...

Still amazing food. Even though it has been years since I was last here. The food is amazing, the service was fast and friendly, and the food came quick. A nice ambiance and very reasonable prices. People say restaurants that have a big menu of variable types of food cant do it all well, but Venice House can. Highly recommended
Still my favorite place. Love the pizzas and I admit Ive had nothing else to eat from the menu because their pizza is the best
First time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was good and quiet. The host/server was very nice. It was a good experience and I recommend this place. There are so many options in the menu, and we ordered the boneless ribs and the calzone. The calzone was amazing, so delicious. Long time that I hadnt had a calzone like that. Highly recommended, you should try it when you go there. It comes with a toast and a caesar salad. The ribs were good, but a little bit dried. If you want to try something different you can go to this place. We definitely will go back there to try other options from the menu and of course to get the fabulous calzone that they offer there. Edited. We went back and had the cranberry and chicken quesadilla, and the calzone and the pizza toast. Highly recommended. It was so good. Loved that now they have the menus in a paper that is not reusable and safe for people. #buylocal #supportlocalbusinesses
If I could give this place no stars I would have. Havent had Venice House Pizza since before the pandemic. I know before they used to be two for one and you literally get two pizzas for the price of one. However now its two pizzas one full price the second one half price. Then why you guys still at for advertising two for one pizza that totally and completely sounds like bait and switch tactic.

Food was hit and miss, most was delicious but a bit over priced. Our waitress was great too.
Ordered pizza for pick up and Im glad I checked it before I paid....they dropped it and still tried to pass it off hoping I wouldnt check...toppings all slid off....they remade it only after I complained, however now my second pizza was cold...
Good choices on the menu
We have always enjoyed eating takeout from here but the last 2 out of 3 experiences have not been good. The first time I received a burnt pizza which was also not the one I ordered, they were really gracious about it and gave me a discount for my next order which was fine but this time two of us ordered pasta which was not properly drained and by the time we got it it was watery. I realized that staffing is tough these days but standards keep people coming. I m afraid we re done eating here.
Preordered pizza from The Venice house to eat while passing through the city from Alberta. We use to go to this restaurant when I was growing up. By far the best pizza I have had in years. Caesar salad was great to.
Very busy at 6:30 but we were seated fairly quick and have awsome service and comfortable atmosphere for supper!!
Food was nothing special, BBQ ribs. Was still hungry after having full rack of bones. Service was slow. Waited for service, had to go get the waitress to get our bill. Felt ignored thats for sure.

I just called them to order food and the lady i spoke with was so rude and she doesn t have any manners to talk to the customers and she cut the phone on me. I am really disappointed. She didn t even listen what i want just hanged up on me.

I used to be a regular back in the 2000s, awesome food and service. Now I live out of town but whenever I come for a visit I always pick up a pizza for the trip home. Best Pizza in town, by far.

You can always tell when food is made in house. They make a great pizza! Try a burger, they are made in house as well. Saturday and Sunday they serve a really great brunch! It has a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant or upstairs in Dinos lounge.

Awesome food and service.
Not impressed at all, I usually dine in and foods been great. I asked for a deluxe burger upgraded to a poutine. The burger has no flavor whatsoever they also they gave me fries with my burger and then a poutine. Then the courier didnt give me my proper change back. Not a happy camper.
Terrible front end service. I dont know who I spoke too. It was an older woman and she was SO RUDE! She wouldnt let me talk and when I was able to ask a question she gave snippy one word answers and to top it off she Hung Up On Me! Ive been in customer service for 15years and if you hate your job that much you shouldnt work there. Which is too bad because I like the food. Will not be going back.
Was ok. Waitress forgot my soup till I was already half done my main course meal....I did not get to eat it . Food could have been warmer as well
