Service was excellent, one server took care of 9 of us with absolutely no issues. Oh yeah, the food was great, too.

The pasta was high quality, well presented, and very delicious. However, for the price and for a higher-end restaurant, I was a bit disappointed with the fairly average service. Our server wasnt very attentive at the end of the meal, was rushing us with the bill when it wasnt busy at all, and asked to take the plate while the person was still holding and chewing the piece of bread.

Food is always good. Our table shared a couple pizzas, steak, octopus, spaghetti and meatballs, . All of it was excellent. Very good wine list. Service is attentive, friendly and efficient. Recommended

Our server was super rude. He was a aged guy who don t even know what he was doing. Yesterday was the first time we tried this restuarant and due to one server our whole experience was ruined. Food was great and atmosphere was lively as well. But I really hope that you guys will work on your service.

We had an outstanding time at Taverna! Our party of four made last-minute reservations to celebrate my parents arrival in town from South Carolina. Everything tasted amazing. We tried four different cocktails, and everyone was extremely satisfied. The amaretto sour was one of my favorite drinks of all time. The scallops and mussels were amazing! Awesome Italian food! The Margahrita was perfectly cooked with a good amount of cheese and basil. The pasta arrabiata was spicy enough to give it a Kicks without being over done. Great atmosphere and service as well

This is a lovely restaurant, the staff and atmosphere were great. The only thing is the location, the area is getting unsafe and I was not comfortable walking to and from my vehicle.

I visited Taverna with a group of 8 coworkers. Don was our server and did an amazing job taking care of us. We started with bruschetta and calamari. Im not a fan of seafood and didnt have any but my coworkers raved wonderful things about the calamari. The bruschetta was unreal. So flavourful. My main meal was the tagliatelle Bolognese.. WOW. The pasta is house made, was the perfect thickness and perfectly cooked. The portion size was huge, I couldnt finish and had lunch the next day. My only complaint was that we werent served real parmesan with our meal BUT I never did ask for any fresh grated cheese so it might be an option but my fault for not asking, I was too excited/focused on my meal once it arrived I just wanted to dig in. Ill definitely be back!

I love this place. However, we were with a large group this time and were seated at the back of restaurant on the upper level. It was so unbelievably hot, it was extremely unpleasant. The server said that their AC was not very good and that area is always hot. I wish they would have advised us of this when we made the reservation, as we had elderly people with us and it was nearly unbearable. Everyone had sweat running down their face and we had room temperature water with no ice. This experience put me off a bit, but the food was still fantastic as always.

Well all I can say is research the menu before going ha ha I really felt like I was not cultured enough to eat there as meal names are all Italian ha ha but the waiter was really good at explaining things and helping work around our food allergy and we had an amazing meal Dietary restrictions: We had fish allergies and there was no problem working around it. First time in Canada. While I was having a hard time eating, I was invited to this restaurant. Its an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is stylish and calm. We had arugula salad, seafood pasta, risotto, and beer. was very delicious. Its so inland that youve probably never even seen the ocean. But how delicious Italian food is! The chef was Filipino. Consent. It was so delicious that I went again the next day. The people at the store were very kind, especially the Filipino people. He had lived in Nagoya before, so he gave me some recommendations! I want to go again.

Amazing pastas!

My partner and I ate there during the Jazz festival. The lasagna was undercooked and not good. It was basically sauce and lasagna noodles. The ceasar salad had very little taste to it other than the lemon we put on it. The restaurant needs to be updated as the table and chairs look like the are from the 80s or 90s.

This is normally our go to restaurant when in Saskatoon. Our latest experience while not horrible, we will most likely try somewhere else next time. The waitress was nice but she was invisible after bringing us our food, no water refills etc, they were busy but still this is pretty basic stuff. The prices seemed very steep for a plate of spaghetti and we had to sit up close with people on each side of us, you couldn t talk with out hearing everyone s conversation.

Had the spaghetti con vongole and it was excellent!

Taverna was once our favourite go to for Italian in Saskatoon but after our experience tonight we won t be back. The tomato soup appetizer was so hot with pepper that we had to send it back to the kitchen. It wasn t replaced. The olive oil with the focaccia tasted rancid. The side shrimp ordered with one of our dishes didn t arrive until 20 min after the entree, which was then cold by the time the shrimp came. $182.00 for a three person pasta dinner with bad service and disappointing food seems a bit much. We will give it a miss in the future.

Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients which was helpful due to allergies. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! We enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely go back. Dietary restrictions: There were options for gluten free and vegan diets. Our server knew the menu well and let the kitchen know about our restrictions.

Went with my boyfriend and we got the calamari, fettuccine Alfredo, pizza and ceasar salad. By far the best pasta I ve ever had in my life and I m so glad we got to experience that.

I love their Lobster ravioli. Tastes so delicious! We visit them often so sometimes its too salty, but not always. It is a bit overpriced, but comparing to the other Italian restaurants in Saskatoon, I think it is good. Service is decent, but sometimes we feel like we are being rushed by the time we are almost done( and it is neither too busy, nor close to the closing time)

I ordered the lasagna. While it tasted okay, it was far from piping hot. It was warm but no more. I could maybe accept this if the price I paid was somewhere in the $20 range but they charged $32 for a plate of lasagna. Not impressed. To top it off, since we were a group, they put an automatic 20% gratuity on all of our bills. Again, Im not against paying for the service but having to pay 20% on top of an overpriced plate of warm lasagna is not okay. I wont likely go back. Ever.

Taverna has changed my mind about food in Saskatoon! This is my favorite restaurant here. Ive been three days in a row and they never disappoint. The girls are amazing always smiling and very friendly. JUST GO AND HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE

Great food but pricey! Not your average pasta place

We enjoyed our meals. My Caesar salad was mostly core, but the pasta with shrimp was amazing. Service was top-notch.

When I looked at the plates sizes it reminded me Im in a smaller town, not a place like Vancouver or Toronto. Yes, you pay $40 for an Entree but everyone was living with a togo box or it could be easily shared, not to mention it gives you a soup or salad to start. Carpacio had a great presentation, sliced a dash thicker than what Im used to(again, larger portion).Arancini were delicious too. The bill ended up to be $220 for two ppl. 2 drinks each, appetizers and mains. We sat on a section that it seemed to have a less experienced( young waitress) than other sections.We wanted to spend the money but if you want your server to sell $220 you need them to be good. The manager was at the entrance, he nodded when we came in. I wish he was gonna stop at our table to ask how our experience was even this was a bussiness meeting and he would not want to interrupt ppl. The shripm pasta was so good that I forgot to take a picture of. And there were a minimum of 8-10 shrimps in that order.Very very filling. One thing we noticed at other tables is that ppl would share the dishes which is a downsize to the bottom line to the bussiness. But yes, I WILL RETURN , NEXT TIME IN SASKATOON. Parking: Being downtown , the parking is always a challenge.

This is an absolute must. Classic Italian dishes executed perfectly. The house made focaccia arrives on the table, complimentary. Dip it in the olive oil balsamic and it sets the stage for a great meal ahead. Now, the menu is THICK. There is a lot to choose from. If youre unsure, ask the staff. Our server was so friendly & welcoming, with excellent recommendations. So, I can chef some great pasta dishes, but tagliatelle is a noodle I leave to the experts. And when I read house made Bolognese, combined with how many decades this restaurant has been here, I knew I made a great choice. The sauce is full of flavour and exactly what a Bolognese should be. When I learned that my Mom and my Aunts had been to this restaurant back in the 1970s, it all started to make sense. I loved in Saskatoon for 5 years but my first time here was in 2024. It still has a new restaurant feel in the fact that their is a zest for life in the air. We were a day-of reservation for 10 people at 5pm (I know, not ideal, but funerals happen suddenly and sometimes resos are last minute with people coming from our of town.) And staff accommodated a change for adding 4 more people no problem. (Note: if we had wanted 630 or 7, on. Saturday, I doubt it wouldve worked out. We were seated at 5 and the place was full before 6pm) The pasta was cooked perfectly. I had a bite of the lamb skewers, wow, never have I had an absolutely perfectly seasoned & juicy lamb bite in my life. I still a bite from my Sisters plate of pesto gnocchi, sweet baby Jesus, was that incredible. All 14 people raved about their meals, from lasagna to cannelloni. The only critique was from 1 of my Uncles, who is very particular (and loved every morsle of everything else) he said the tiramisu was okay. I had a bite and thought it was very good but I also dont consume tiramisu on the regular. Wine selection is deep. Im a beer guy and I appreciated having a local brown followed by a near-perfect milk stout from Black Bridge Brewing in Swift Current. So many yumm! across the board. Next time Im in Saskatoon, Ill be back. And Im getting the lamb and not sharing. Cheers!

Went early in the evening for dinner and had the carbonara and the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was amazing and super rich and flavourful. The carbonara was huge and really creamy. The burrata bruschetta isn t actually burrata but is just bruschetta with stracciatella cheese on top. I was excited for burrata so I was a little disappointed when it wasn t the same as described on the menu. I probably wouldn t get it again. Service was good and prompt and we were overall very happy and will return to try other menu items.

Good over all, a bit pricey for portions in my opinion. Ate here twice in 2 weeks had the same dish. Tasted really different each time.

I recently dined at Taverna and ordered the agnello platter. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the portion size was generous. The service was excellent, with knowledgeable staff. However, there were a lot of scratches on the plates. Overall, a great dining experience at Taverna. I recommend it for delicious Mediterranean food. Four stars!

Meal was good but overpriced for pasta. service was extremely slow and a mandatory 25% tip for a table of six was a bit much. had to ask for everything. it was busy but maybe lower your mandatory tip amount and let me decide if I want to up it. had to guzzle my last drink by the time it arrived at the end of my meal. it was ok but for that price it honestly wasnt any better than OSF for a fraction of the cost.

Went out for dinner with some friends and did the family style meal. The food was amazing! The service was top notch and the atmosphere was great. Definitely enjoyed the family style meal as you get a little of everything. If you re looking for some great Italian food in S toon this is the place to go.

This is the tagliatelle alla marinara house made pasta, prawns, bay scallops, calamari, garlic, butter, white wine, peperoncino, cream | also available arrabbiata style | add mussels | add clams. Served by excellent and knowledgeable wait staff at Taverna, the meal was delicious and I could barely finish it as it was rich with a hint of spice.

Best pasta I have ever eaten in my life. Service was good and had a super good atmosphere!!! Food came out quick and was 100% satisfied with everything!!!!!

Visited on one of their busiest nights with the food being the highlight of this visit. I would highly recommend the cozze al gorgonzola which came with this delicious rosee sauce and some focaccia on the side and ravioli di aragosta which was essentially lobster ravioli. Id recommend staying away the tagliatelle alla bolognese as it was lacklustre in flavour and needed salt.

Visited for Valentines Day and absolutely loved the food. We went with the classic spinach and ricotta ravioli and risotto and were blown away by the flavour. Our server was Italian and was friendly and had a good knowledge of what was good in terms of the wine choice and food. Would definitely visit again for special occasions.

A group of friends and I enjoyed a few drinks and a fantastic meal at Taverna on New Years Eve. Food and drinks were terrific and the service was stellar. This was my second time enjoying the food. A few months ago, my spouse and I ordered from Taverna via Skip. Even delivered, the food was outstanding. 100% recommend.

Every bite was amazing

Ambience and service were lovely. Portions were larger than we had expected, and that justified the price, to a certain degree. The appetizers and cocktails were yummy. As for our main courses The flavours just did not do it for us. I was expecting richer, deeper notes from the slow cooked sauce I had. The pizza was also not quite what we had expected. Rather soggy and under-spiced. I would go back and try something else, but it s tough when there are so many newer places that have their spice game on point. Not sure what happened there, as Taverna ranks high in many people s books. I would still recommend this place for a chill vibe and good drinks.

We used to go to taverna many many years ago when it was more a pizza and pasta place. It has definitely moved upscale in terms of food and service. Tonight, four of us ordered different drinks and a variety of pasta dishes. Food was good and the service was excellent. If you are looking for a fine dining Italian restaurant experience in Saskatoon, I would recommend taverna.

Awesome food but poor almost borderline prejudice service. The server even could not wait for me to taste wine and started pouring wine in our glasses.Never have I ever seen such rude service. We were even rushed to NOT HAVE desert saying we orderd and ate too much already and we just had one appetizer and one entre each. Very poor service and am sure itß costing the restaurant too. We will be back just to recoed the awefully service next time.

The server, Don, was attentive, professional, and very informative of the menu. Food was outstanding. I had a few bad meals here a few years back, but now....it is wonderful and I will be going again soon.

I was very disappointed in my take out experience this past weekend. I ordered two pizzas to go. The bill was $75, which is quite expensive for 2 pizzas. I was expecting decent sizes and toppings, but was surprised to open the large boxes to find <12 inch sized pizzas inside with barely any toppings on them. I was not shown my bill when I came to pick up and was just told what I owed. I added a tip to the credit card payment, while wondering why my bill was so much. After my payment processed I was asked if I wanted my receipt or not. I said yes because the total wasn t adding up. I was rushed out with my hands full, as there was a line up at the door. When I got to my vehicle and had a chance to look at the receipt, I noticed that they had already added a service charge to the bill but did not inform me about it. I unknowingly left a 2nd tip for 2 expensive and sad looking pizzas. I will not be back. There are better high quality pizzas in the city that are more reasonably priced. The restaurant should have showed me the bill before I paid or at least mentioned that a gratuity had already been added.

The food was way over priced for what you are getting. This is Saskatoon folks! Dated diner style ambience with no complimentary bread, $25 for mediocre appetizer mussels and $30 to $35 pasta?!?!? At those prices, they better beef up on the ambiance. Parking: Street parking

Great food and speedy delivery

Made a reservation for our 20th anniversary... one of our first dates was at Taverna. Relayed that info when making the reservation...but what for!?? Seated for dinner in the lounge! Disappointing and the menu familiar favorites are nowhere even near what they once were.

The Alfredo pasta was made fresh which you can taste but the pasta itself could ve been rolled out thinner. The pasta was on the thicker side, don t get me wrong better that than mushy thin over cooked pasta but 1-2 more rolls would ve been perfect. The margarita pizza was also tasty with fresh basil but it could ve used more cooking in the middle. I was expecting at least half the slice to hold with wood fire pizzas like this but the slice barely held up on its own past the crust portion which made it more of a knife and fork eating situation.

Good place for dinner if you re rich and stupid. We ordered the pescatora platter for 2 and got a decent amount of spaghetti with 3 prawns, 3 scallops (great number for 2 people sharing ), 0 calamari, and a generous helping of clams and mussels. This platter cost us $85 and did not have more than $20 worth of ingredients, so you better be going for the atmosphere. About that .we were seated in a little side cove with 3 other booths and it was so noisy we could barely hear each other and so dark that we struggled to read menus. 2 star rating is only because the service was good and the espresso martinis were great.

Don is the man! Great pasta, wine, dessert, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They know how to treat a group so come with a few friends.

A beautiful traditional style Italian restaurant where everything is made in house. Our server Jayce was absolutely amazing, providing us with little bits of history or fun facts about Italy everytime he visited our table. One of the most enjoyable dining experiences Ive had while visiting Saskatoon. Make sure you order the bruschetta you wont be disappointed!

My husband and I visited for a night out a few weeks ago. The staff here is fabulous. You can tell they are professionals with great attention to detail. They also very clearly are an excellent team who support each other. The arancini appetizer is fabulous, the butternut squash ravioli is a new favourite and the cannelloni is an old favourite. This place is a Saskatoon classic. As a child, my parents brought me here for special meals when we visited the city. As an adult, its where my family met my future husband for the first time. I look forward to bringing my son here when hes old enough to appreciate the Calzone.

I recently went to Taverna for the first time ever and had an excellent experience! The atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were amazing. It is on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. We went as a large group, 14 of us, and ordered some bottles of wine for the table which came quickly and tasted great. Then, we ordered some appetizers: the bruschetta, calamari, and salumi. The bruschetta was phenomenal as the mozzarella was very fresh and soft, the calamari was decent, and the salumi was as expected for meats and cheeses. For the main course, I ordered the bay scallops which came with the house pasta on the side and a caesar salad to start. The caesar salad was awesome as it was more of a vinaigrette than a heavy cream which I love. The scallops were slightly overcooked and covered in buttery breadcrumbs, but after pushing the breadcrumbs off the taste was great. The side pasta was simple, but tasty and had a little heat! For dessert, we had the pannacotta and tiramisu. The pannacotta was all right, but the tiramisu was excellent! We will definitely return!

Great authentic cuisine, attention to customers and a lot of great options to choose from. I ordered the Branzino which was very fresh and grilled to perfection, and it came with a Pepperonata which is like a vegetable stew. Having lived in Italy for most of my adult life, I am very passionate about Italian food and ita authenticity, and I was not disappointed by the Taverna. I forgot my retainers there and noticed that only 5 minutes before closing. When I called to ask if they could wait for me, one of the resturaunt staff especially waited for me for an extra 15 minutes with my retainers neatly packed in a bag, even though she needed to go home to her daughter whose baby sitter was waiting to leave. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have a fine dining experience in Saskatoon.

We went to Taverna for a special anniversary dinner and left disappointed. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance with special instructions to reserve a quieter private table for a special anniversary dinner. When we arrived, we were seated in the lounge right next to the bar in what seemed like the worst table in the restaurant. The bar area was loud and there was a tv right above us playing rather explicit content. The server made no mention of anything about our special night. Given the price point, I was expecting much higher attention to detail. Will likely not return.

Totally awesome for food and service. Price is higher from when we had gone in the past, but the everything that we had tasted great. Portions was also large. Ideal for business clientele.

Amazing atmosphere. A bit dark in the lighting factor, but all pasta is home made, all sauces, huge portions. Super friendly staff willing to explain any dishes you want and the food is beyond amazing

The food was very tasty, and our server was very respectful and courteous. Giving them a 3 star review because when we arrived, the restaurant had at least a dozen empty tables open, and the hostess made the joke of no reservation on a Tuesday night isnt a problem, things arent too busy but then she seated us at the smallest table in a corner away from everyone. We asked to move to one of the empty booths which they happily did for us, but it was just really strange to be sat at the only two-seat table in the restaurant, away from everyone else and tucked into a corner when there were so many empty open tables. Also, the portions for the food were small - the buschetta was 13 dollars for 3 pieces of bread with tomatoes on it, and the drinks were 5 dollars after tax for ginger ale and cranberry juice. Hoping this feedback helps their leadership team.

Great food and atmosphere! Maddie was our server and helped us make some great choices as it had been a few years since we were last there. Looking forward to visiting Taverna again sooner than later and trying something new to us on the menu.

Fantastic meals and our go to spot for Italian food! We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here too and the staff were fantastic at accommodating our large group.

Tiny tables can barely fit a plate and a drink, menus not in English and just average food. Portions are absolutely tiny for a $50 meal was finished entree in under 5 minutes, about 8 bites. Insanely expensive for the quality and portion size. Would never recommend nor will I ever be back. You can literally get a better meal at a pub around the corner for half the cost and at least feel fed. $50 for 5 small scallops and about a handful of plain spaghetti.

Our waitress said the mussels and scampi were gluten free. They were not. I was on the toilet that night, thinking of Taverna.

A fabulous meal with great staff, celebrating a 60th birthday for the wife, they took our cake and fetched it back after our meal. Thanks for a great night, will definitely be back.

Great authentic Italian food. We had Carlo as our server and he was excellent. Provided us information on specials and had our food hot piping hot with drinks served quickly. Not a single complaint about our visit. Would definitely go again! Parking: Paid spots on street if you can find one. We went on a Friday night where it is fairly difficult to find a spot but we did find one eventually!

Taverna had never let me down this place has amazing pasta, delicious cocktails and great service. Also if your feeling adventerous the octopus is incredible !

We went for a celebration and were disappointed by the placement. Seats were in the middle of 2 large tables. Place was extremely crowded and loud. We ordered bruschetta as a starter that was literally 3 pieces. The quality of the ingredients was good but certainly couldnt justify the price point with that service and ambiance. We has ravioli for the mains and it was overly greasy. I would rather go newer and better places with the same price range than visiting again. The place is wayyy too hyped for what it serves.

The best restaurant in Saskatoon offering Italian cuisine. Ravioli with spinach and ricotta are delicious, as well as homemade pasta with seafood. Very cozy atmosphere, and really like their Christmas playlist. Vegetarian options: Several types of pizza ans pasta, also some appetizers and salads are vegetarian friendly!

Excellent food but most notable was their flexibility. I came in with a request for a 20 top the day of. I showed up with 21!! No problem. Never felt rushed, our server was amazing and clearly very experienced. My only suggestion is that staff could update their training with accessibility and interacting with those that require accommodation. Well done Taverna! We will be back!

We went on on a Tuesday night very busy. Our server was really sweet but the service was terrible. Sat for 10 min. before our server came over ordered our drinks then sat another 20 min before we got them by this point I was starving. 1 item we were going to order wasnt going to work as it was family style so.was 8npieces of chicken for 40 bucks then Ala cart everything else. So she said Ill be back another 20 min later came back decided on the pizza. Then she tells us we have no pizza. Ugghh. Do at this point we said just leave it well just finish our drink and leave. I was so hungry I said can you bringbus the brushetta. 10 min later she came with 2 pieces on the house but they were soggy likely been sitting for 10 min. We left starving. My question is where was management to support their staff when obviously not prepared for the amount of people and.large tables that were in. Terrible service and I could see the server was run off her feet. Never will go back and Ive told many people about the service, not having good service or food really hurts your business. Get it together Taverna

First time experiencing Taverna. It was a delicious experience. Between the fresh calamari and perfectly baked pizza it was a match made in heaven. I went with the bolognese pasta. They do not shy away from large portions and flavour. It was out of this world delicious. Second to the food being delicious, the server was great! He provided his honest opinion on the food and Im happy I took his word for it. I would return!

Always a great evening out at Taverna

Not a good experience for my wife and I. Her gnocchi and my spaghetti & meatballs were not great and very salty. Our stomachs are still complaining 5 hours later. We had no drinks and nothing after the main course. Price was close to $80 including tax; plus tip on top of that. Not worth the money for us. The atmosphere used to be a lot better. Weve been to other restaurants with much better food and for much less money. We wont ever be back!

Tonight was one of the worst experience we had in Taverna. First, the guy that seats people was really rude. Second, we waited an hour for our main meal after we finished our appetizers. There were multiple group of people that got their food before us even though we ordered our food and we were there before them. After we got our meal, our food (Chicken Alfredo w chicken & prosciutto) was seemed rush because it didnt have any seasoning in it and it almost burnt the inside of my mouth, if the food is going to be late, make sure it s DONE RIGHT! The prosciutto didnt taste anything like a prosciutto at all as it was bland, the chicken as well wasn t seasoned well. My partner and I for the first time after 6 years of going here couldn t finish our food. It was disappointing and embarrassing specially when you re spending almost $200 for 2 person dinner..the drinks was always good and the guy that was waiting us was always friendly. But tonight was definitely not the Taverna that we know of and hope they can fix this issues as myself and a group of my friends were thinking about dining here before Christmas and I just hope we have a better experience than tonight.

Honestly the food was decent, but not super worth it being a 70$ meal for 1 person. The staff we had for my friends birthday reservation were.... pretty questionable. I like to believe that as a table full of people who either are actively working in the service industry or have experience in the industry, we try to make a servers job as easy as we can. But it very much seemed like our server could not stand us, and the server she had help her bring the food to our large table was INCREDIBLY rude, described meals completely wrong resulting in a miscommunication about whos food was where. Which I understand can happen sometimes in large groups, but she continued to have an absolutely horrendous attitude while bringing food, which was noticed by everyone (including the birthday girl, who is a server herself). I was disappointed by the service, and the portion sizes for the price. More than likely will not go back. Dietary restrictions: Very limited options for anyone who is lactose intolerant, and it seems like a limited supply of gluten free pasta as well, so keep that in mind if youre celiac or gluten intolerant.

Had a great meal. The food was delicious. We had a mixup on our order but our server, Don, was great about it. He rushed us out our proper order and gave us the mistake as well. Staff were delightful and the food was delicious.
