Blue Diamond Restaurant in Saskatoon

The first couple of pizzas I took out from the new owners were excellent ! I recently ordered another and it seemed like the meat on the pizza was different and really greasy. I will probably give them another go but if it is the same greasy meat I guessthey will lose my patronage

We were at this restaurant for a lunch time on the 29th of September and faced a terrible service!!! We have ordered 2 zucchini cream soups to eat at the restaurant as well as sea food salad and wild boar cheecks to take away. While waiting for the order we have noticed the special offer, if you take a picture of the dish and public the photo in the Instagram, tagging them you get a free cocktail. I took a picture showed it in Instagram to the waiter, she said she would come later meanwhile I had to choose which cocktailI want, but then just disappeared. We were trying to call her to take the order for cocktail for 40 minutes! Eventually, I came to the bar explaining the situation and the lady in the bar said that this only concerned the photo of the main dish. I said ok, then bring me my main dish which I ordered to take away and I take a picture of it,though it is not mentioned anywhere. She refused I asked to call the manager of the restaurant he came and said!!!! WE SHOULD SPEAK POLISH BECAUSE WE ARE IN POLAND!!!I said that the restaurant is in 4 stars international restaurant, they have menu In English what is the problem to speak English? He actually speaks English and understand that he was wrong just was gready to serve with a free cocktail! Such a shame!! They heard we speak Ukrainian and it was a Nacionalizm case! It is ridiculous!!! After that the waiters also said they speak only Polish. It is a real Nationalizm.I will apply to antinationalizm comitee!! I was staying at the hotel and eating at that restaurant for at least 10 times ago.. never again!!! Though Usually the cuisine there is good The soup were too saulty this time, our take away dishes were good. But manager is awful. By the way he was in the restaurant in breakfast time and was eating carrots just during the breakfast in front of guests.

Loaded with potential. Sadly unrealized. The upstairs staff cant help spreading bad vibes and negativity towards bar staff and customers. And the owners dont seem to care unfortunately. Dont waste your time.

In the lounge we have karaoke Thursday Friday and Saturday nights 9-close. Come enjoy singing play pool, VLTs and have a great time.

Blue Diamond Lounge Review : Bernie, Kori and Lavonne are the coolest. Gus is super nice & the beer prices are quite fair - $9.50 Schooners most of the time. Agree with the other reviewer, all thats missing is some kind of bar menu - in very least be nice to at least for one night a week have a wing special. A lot of folks cant afford the full menu items but theyd for sure come out for a small tapas style plate of the smaller cheaper wings. Make a smaller margin on the wings & make it back on the drinks, fries etc people order to go with it. Go Blue Diamond!

Been here many moons ago and just read an article the place has been sold. Well I will be going with my ex wife to this establishment and share in fond memories of this legendary eatery. Thank you for 38 years boys! All love

Food was incredible and good pricing for the huge portions you get. The restaurant itself is a cool vibe my kind of place. Our server was friendly enough, but when I asked her for a refill she either forgot or was too busy, as 10 minutes passed and I had already finished my food and she came to clear the plates before I received my refill so I had to inform her I didn t want it anymore and she looked surprised as if she had forgotten. Oh well still incredible food and a great place, will be back!

Blue Diamond was very good! I had a Cutlet on a Bun and the portion was large, tasty and came piping hot. Will be back!

The most disgusting food we have ever had, the burgers were gross, gravy tasted like dirty old socks, coleslaw was just awful, beef dip tasted so old must of been in the fridge for years, the dipping juice tasted sour, what a waste of money this meal was! My sister and I like to go out an have a meal of our own sometimes. The Blue Diamond is one of our places to go and have a meal at. The food is delicious and they give you big portions. I recommend trying it out. We enjoy it.

Well after all the hype about this place we decided to try it out. The decor was quite interesting. Felt like I was in a jungle. The amount of food we got was astonishing,so no complaints about portion size but wouldve been nice to get it much quicker. Waited about hour and 15 mins. Was ready to walk out. The food was delicious but the gravy had a weird taste. My 14 yr old son said it tasted like something Christmasy. I tried it and it was sweet. My sister in law had some kind of fish. It had so much seasoning on top it was overpowering. The best part was the soup.Our waitress was a bit moody when trying to ask a question while ordering she seemed annoyed. If you dont like your job find something else. Just saying. Over all it was ok. Will we go back. Maybe. Im one to give things a second chance.

Went there for a friends retirement supper. What friendly staff and food was great.

Our waitress has been employed at the Blue Diamond for 37 years. She was very friendly and had the best sense of humor. The food was excellent and the portions were huge.

Delicious Caesar salad and lasagna with garlic toast.

Offering dessert would have been nice, instead of heres your bill, pay up front and walked away. Didnt even ask us if the bill was together, which it was not.

The food and service were great as always, but this time I was challenged to get to my car while leaving, by a group of street people. I love this restaurant, but no longer feel safe going there, which I had already restricted to daylight hours. So sorry for the lovely owners,to have the area decline so badly.

Love The Blue Diamond. We came for my moms birthday celebration, and Rose was great as our waitress. For being a party of 11, she was on top of all of our requests. The food was amazing as always, and the atmosphere felt like coming home. Its definitely one of our favorite restaurants. We order from you guys often, there is always something missing from order which for some reason always missing from Bonnies order. She has let it go few times, today is womens day and we want to bring this to your attention that Bonnie is not happy today. We called you guys and it was told that dip for chicken fingers are in box but box is empty. How can Bonnie enjoy lunch without dip. The only thing positive was the service. Being new to the city we thought a restaurant that had been around for so long must be good. We were wrong! Interesting atmosphere and good service were the only thing it had going for it. Two in the group had the special, Greek chicken and roast potato. Both were dry and the whole presentation was completely bland! I had breaded veal cutlets that could not have been thinner, or more rubbery, along with some very dry mashed potato. The forth person had the fish and chips. Not only could he not finish the meal, but it actually made him nauseous. Needless to say we will not be back.

Sunday lunch for 4 of us. They have a good selection of $20 Lunch specials. They are all large servings with a desert. Sapphire our server was very welcoming, attentive, and our food arrived in good time. Peter came around with coffee and made sure things were good. 2 meals cutlets, 1 of liver and onions, 1 Salisbury steak. All were very good. The restaurant was very well patronized. This restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. I can recommend it

Let me start by saying the food is fantastic. I have been for lunch more than a few times and supper a handful including twice in the last month. About a month ago supper was interrupted with boisterous voices of the staff at the front. We either had to talk amongst ourselves louder or deal with the interruptions. We had supper again recently and we re about to ask for a booth in the back corner but it seem to be very quiet this time, and we accepted a table about halfway towards the back. That was a mistake because the staff trivia game at the front started up and once again we had to deal with interruptions or just having to talk louder over the noise. I definitely won t be back for supper if I m looking for a quiet, dining experience.

I honestly believe every part of this restaurant deserves a 5 star review...I have been at the restaurant over 10 times and it never disappoints! Had the seniors cutlets they were not good at all. Sure has changed use to enjoy there food.

Staff was very rude. After refusing to serve my mom drinks(not saying they didn t have a valid reason to do so), however afterwards our server took only my moms order, and went to whisper to her other coworkers and came back asking for a payment in advance, because it was such a large meal my mom felt as though this was discriminatory, and very unprofessional. The whispering about us to other coworkers, to coming back and asking for a payment in advance. Not once have I ever had to pay for my meal in advance, no matter the price. I refuse to dine in at blue diamond, especially after the treatment my mother and I had just endured.

Good hospitality and service. Probably one of the best caesar salads in the city. Food is good and consistent. My only complaint was that the shrimp wasn t de-veined. All said, a good comfort food restaurant.

Food was fresh and hot, tasted great and arrived very quickly. Large portions as well. The service was very good, prompt and attentive. Only negative was the parking lot. Very difficult to park and navigate the alley to get to the larger parking section. Broken glass from a shattered vehicle window at the back and no direct walkways to the entrance. You either have to walk in the roadway or if you stick the side of the building, you might smack your head on the interesting architecture coming around the side of the building if youre distracted. Overall a pleasant dining experience inside with friendly staff.

The food is good but the service was not very accommodating. Would I eat here again by choice? Probably not because I would much rather go somewhere where I feel serviced, not rushed and not a bother when asking for what was ordered. My server didnt use a pen or paper, resulting in miscommunication and orders not fulfilled.

I havnt had to many beef dips in my life , but I tell you I hope I never have another one like I had here tonight . Extremely flavourless and boring ... Maybe the 3-4 staff standing at the kiosk should spend more time thinking of ways to add flavor to the food instead of standing telling stories so the whole restaurant can hear ..

The food was great. You get lots to eat! Our server was very friendly and efficient! They have an elevator for people who have difficulty using stairs.

Personally i thought the dish i had was bland. I got fries as a side. They were very hard. The others in my group enjoyed there food.

Take-out lazonia w meat sauce is the best in town.

Ordered a platter for delivery. The chicken wings smelt like rotten fish. Asked for a reimbursement and told them to come get the food. They told me they were not able to put the charges back onto the credit card and could take 3-5 business days to get reimbursed. Not sure why they would think it was OK to send out spoiled chicken and make a profit off of that.

Service was great. Portion size was large. Flavouring of the food left something to be desired. Gravy had a weird taste. Burger was mediocre. Ketchup of low quality. Chicken cacciatore- the sauce had a weird flavour. Salad looked like it came from a bag and it was browning. Grama said the coffee was good. So service was great. Food not so much. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp and elevator!

So disappointed! Took my elderly mon for her birthday and it was a disaster. I ordered the Greek ribs and I kid you not there was barely any meat on them & fries were cold. The caesar croutons were so hard that I thought I had broken a filling until I realized it was the croutons. I had paid extra and wanted to start with the Greek salad but when it came out you couldn t see any tomatoes, onions, or cucumbers through the lettuce. Apparently your supposed to order a village Greek salad if you want an actual Greek salad. Next time I want Greek food I ll go to Opa, which is sad. My mom who is pretty easy to please was also disappointed with her steak sandwich. My husband had the baked spaghetti with meat sauce which had almost no meat sauce and was super sweet. Plates weren t cleared from the table and we waited for about 10 minutes because my mom wanted desert but we just gave up and left. Unfortunately this is the second time we ve been their in the last six months and the first time was no better but I thought maybe it was an off day so I didn t write a review then. I did tell them the hostess who apologized but that was it.

The best restaurant in the city and the best liver by a mile. Great value for your money, always have extra food to take home. If its true that this place is being sold, Im disappointed and hope the menu and decor dont get modernized and prices go up to pay for it. But I do think the owner deserves to retire after 20+ years of being the best greek/family restaurant in the city. Also curious if anyone has ever eaten the vegetables that come with the meal.

Honest opinion: The atmosphere is really nice, theres lots of floral plants and cozy feelings. However.. the food was terrible. We ordered two French onion soups, mine had stay pieces of pineapple in it, and in general the soup was very over salted and over seasoned. Then we ordered the steak meal and fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce tasted exactly like store bought jar sauce and the chicken pieces were huge and grisly. While the steak and potato were okay, the vegetables served were definitely a store bought mix, including broccoli stems and was microwaved to the point that they were mushy. So in end, the prices were really expensive for what you get. If youre looking for a nice date night resteraunt, maybe dont go here.

I loved the service, the 2 ppl I was with, their food was amazing. They had the dry rib and ceasers salad and steak lunch special. Both lunches were delicous. I ordered the turkey sandwich, it wasnt that great in taste. A bit dry and maybe it was all the dark meat that tasted off to me. I mentioned it was a bit off to our server, my company also had a bite and agreed it was a bit dry and tasted off. The server was great and food was comped off the bill. I will definitely go back, this time I will order the steak. It was so good, cooked to perfection and well seasoned.

It was a different type of feel. The water fountains were nice the reatrant itself looked real nice but the bathrooms definitely need an upgrade

My Mom was visiting from Alberta for the first time since my Dad passed last March. We were going to a musical at TCU Place and I wanted to take her somewhere before the show that I knew would be comfortable, good service and good food. I have been going to the Blue Diamond on and off for 25 years so decided that it would be a good choice to take my Mom there. I was not disappointed. The long time server, Rose, was as always, an absolute joy! And the food was outstanding! There was enough to box up for leftovers the next day. It was fantastic to see my Mom really enjoy herself in a long time. Thank you to all at the Blue Diamond!

Used to love it here! Food was good, portions were (and still are) plentiful. But now the taste simply isnt there, not sure what happened. Its been maybe 6 months since we last went here, and it always used to taste great. Tonight, it was very bland. Plus they ran out of the soup that was supposed to come with the meal. Not sure if its new management or if the quality has slipped, but it was expensive enough of a very poor tasting dinner that we definitely dont want to risk paying another $60 to try it again, we wont return.

Hi we had a enjoyable meal there yesterday November 12/22 between 5:00 and 7:00 until when we left and go to where I was parked where there s lots of lighting and cameras outside and someone broke my truck window and stole my black backpack and a beige bag that has Hawaii written in it! Yes not restaurants responsibility but my friend went and talked to owner with really no help at all! Worst is even Saskatoon Police have to fill a report out online! Just wanting people to be on the look out probably never to be found but so frustrating and inconvenient as I live in AB Not a great end to a great day but thank you to my dearest friends as they frequent your restaurant And made me safe and a place to stay overnight and fixed my window so I could drive home today Stephanie Wood
