1702 Idylwyld Dr N, Saskatoon, SK S7L 1B3, Canada
This is my British wife’s favourite store. Great selection of non-perishable grocery items, take out items (recommend the sausage rolls and scotch egg) and cafe food. We usually get the fish and chips. Highly recommended.
We have come shopping here frequently for a taste of British fare, but it’s the first time we have sat down for a meal. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed! We ordered cod and chips and the Irish sausage, eggs and chips with a fresh baked scone served with cream and jam. Huge portions! The fish was incredible. Lightly battered and melt in your mouth cod. The chips were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The Irish sausage was so tasty and the eggs cooked to perfection. The scone was perfect with the fresh cream and real chunks of strawberry jam. It tasted like more for sure. Sorry Gibsons but I’ve found our new fish n chips joint! Staff are great. A little taste of Britain right here in Saskatoon. A gem for sure.
Delightful little place to go for lunch. Good is amazing, staff are so welcoming and friendly. They really made the experience feel more like you were visiting family or friends, they chatted with you and were just so nice. It was just an all around stellar experience. The fish and chips were best in town. So many places they're oily and fall apart, but here it was perfect. Chips were hot and crispy. The steak and Guinness pasty really stole the show though. It was seriously amazing.
My journey to Churchill British Cafe was nothing short of a delightful adventure! It all started when my wife became obsessed with these Hobnobs oatmeal cookies. Her coworker mentioned that we could find them there, so, off I went on a mission to track it down. Upon entering, I was immediately surrounded by the comforting hum of British accents. It felt like stepping into a cozy little corner of Britain. My first quest was to locate those famed oatmeal cookies for my wife. As I wandered around, I couldn't help but notice the enticing selection of English pies. Hunger started to set in. When I glanced at the menu and saw "Fish and Chips," it was a done deal. I was set on that and a refreshing ginger beer. A friendly lady at the counter took my order, and in no time, I had a hot, mouthwatering meal in front of me. The atmosphere was quintessentially British, complete with paintings of ocean waves and lighthouses. It felt like a little slice of the UK right here. I noticed a few other folks enjoying their breakfast, and that told me I was in for a treat. The meal, without a doubt, was both great and delicious. The friendly service and that authentic British ambiance made the experience truly exceptional. Plus, they had quite the selection of British-made items to explore. I wholeheartedly recommend Churchill British Cafe for a quick, tasty bite and a delightful British experience. It's a little taste of Britain right in our neighborhood! 🇬🇧🍪🐟🍟😊
My daughter and I went for "High Tea". We were amongst the first group to experience this. It was marvelous. Everything about Churchill's was great: the food, the staff and the selection of British imports they sell alongside the little restaurant area. I'll be back to pick up some of those imports and to ty real British fish and chips in the restaurant.
I was getting an oil change across the street and had 90 minutes to kill. I "googled food near me" and this was a top return. Walked in, and I was greeted immediately. I got a table right away and looked at the menu, 1 piece Cod Fish & Chips is what I ordered, and let me tell you that I was not disappointed. The chips were house made and the fish was perfectly cooked. I took a few items to take away and will update my review when I have had a chance to try them. It's definitely worth a visit.
I am always 100% satisfied everytime I go there to eat. The food is amazing, I never walk away hungry or dissatisfied. The servicecalwats warm and welcoming. This was my steak&mushroom pasty, mushy peas and chips. Next time I'll try the scotch egg & sausage roll with a cup of tea...and chips of course. Lol Definitely recommend if you like British style food.
What a great shop for basically anything snacks/crisps/sweets that you might be craving from the U.K... and the fish and chips were phenomenal as well (sorry for the picture of the half plate of food. I forgot to take a picture when I got mine. I basically inhaled it). This is a must try for any foodies our there!!!! The only issue I have is the short hours, but it has that great mom and pop kinda atmosphere. 👍👍
Such a pleasant experience!
Always great food & amazing service!!
Nice friendly staff
British food, some quite bland, imported items a bit priced up but if anything its unique
Fish & Chips were definitely the best in Saskatoon.
The food is mediocre, but the service was pleasant and helpful.
Such a nice atmosphere with good food and the staff have a personality.
Incredible friendly staff. They helped me pick great items for a friends birthday and omg she loved all of it! I want to return for fish and chips!
Going to Churchills is a MUST each and every time we are in Saskatoon. Were just there a few weeks ago and as ALWAYS Tony and staff were fantastic hosts for lunch. Chips, Cornish pasties and cloudy lemonade were absolutely Deelish As always. We were able to purchase a case of lemonade to take home. Also had to purchase our fave British sweeties, biccies, and hula hoops for delighting in on the long trip home. This is the only place I am aware of in Saskatchewan that sells British imports. Thank you Tony for such a lovely cafe and store
I was impressed with their service, décor, and, most importantly, the food!
There are Brits, good Brits, and theres Churchills Cafe!
Great, filling yet simple lunches. Tony and his staff are lovely, and the shop is always stocked up on good snacks and treats!
Loving their fish and chips
Best fish and chips in town. Hand cut fries and hand battered fish. I also enjoy the sausage pies. After enjoying a meal browse the market as it has varieties of crisps, teas, candies, cookies jams and spreads. The service is so quick and so friendly. A great experience.
Best fish and chips in town!
Very tasty British food, best breakfast in Saskatoon
Parking: Friendly staff, good food, will go again. Food : 5/5
Great to find some English classics so friendly too, will go back
Excellent fish and chips!
Best breakfast in Saskatoon! Staff is very friendly. One of my favorite spots in Saskatoon!
My favorite place for fish and chips
Make sure their style of British food is your cup of tea, so to speak. Nicely presented, good selection of British off-the-shelf snacks; space is limited - go early.
So many classic UK staples that you cant find anywhere else in town!
Loved it. Highly recommended. I had shepherds pie and it was delish. Wife had fish and chip and it was top notch. Will be back.
Always a great experience a little taste of Britain in Saskatoon. Sometimes you just need the food you grew up with
This is my favourite place to go in Saskatoon.
Ordered Haddock and Chips. $13 4 oz of batterd fish and a handful of french fries. Not real British Chips, they are bigger and thicker. The fish was ok, batter was ok, service ok. But really way too much money for what I got. Wont return.
Came here for breakfast. Food was amazing. Service was great. Also a huge selection of British goods.
We had been meaning to stop by for some time now and finally did, was worth the wait, overall. The fish and chips were pretty good, and I think the only thing that was a negative was the canned tomatoes for the tomato bacon sarnie(sandwich) and that the white bread used was just two plain fresh out of the bag slices of white bread. Service was good, friendly.
Had a great lunch here with my wife. She had the fish and chips and I had a chicken curry pasty. Yum.
I had a fabulous breakfast with perfectly cooked eggs, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, and excellent baked beans. Always a favourite! Worth planning your visit so you have time to shop the grocery side of the Cafe. Best treats and lots of great pantry staples too.
We had an absolutely lovely homey breakfast here, and despite the busyness (this is clearly a very popular little place)! we were served with alacrity and friendliness. Good selection of interesting British/Scottish foods, not merely like the Int l aisle at Walmart! Will be going back as soon as possible.
Cute little place, very British. The fish and chips were tasty, if you are a big eater go for the 2 piece. I found the 1 piece to be enough for me. Lots of British treats to choose from, and some papers, magazines and other media. The server was lovely.
Great atmosphere, phenomenal service, and best breakfast in the entire city.
The food was amazing and we had the most delightful experience with the owners! We brought 2 toddlers and the staff was amazing with being accommodating and helpful! I have never experienced such a amazing experience at a restaurant before and definitely will be returning again and again. Kid-friendliness: SO KIND. So sweet. The best I ve ever experienced!!!
I cant speak for any other dishes at this location, but the fish and chips are to die for. Friendly and courteous service.
Lovely spot for a cuppa! Staff so nice, good selection of proper tea.
Best place to get your favorite British goodies!

Theyve recently moved from the East end of the city. Great to have a little Brittish shop so close.
I could eat here everyday. It hits the spot in so many ways.
This is the perfect place to go for a proper English Breakfast. It s perfect. Also fish and chips, cottage pie and all the food you d find in a proper British pub. Authentic food, friendly staff and and it s an absolute treasure box of snacks, tea, chocolate and other nostalgic delights. A must try for the English diaspora.

Quaint, great place to stock up on your favourite sweets and British memorabilia. The breakfast is always delicious, and the portion sizes (especially the Full Monty) is suitable for brunch. The staff are delightful, friendly and attentive. Whether you love fish n chips, or just want to share a cup of tea Churchills is an easy spot to recommend.

We also picked up some staples (prawn crisps!) in the store. We ll definitely be back. Thank you for the taste of the UK!

Wonderful meal. Excellent service, adding to my favorite places. Ill post a pic next time.
Awesome customer service and wonderful food. Wonderful little British shop
Great place to shop for British goods, staff really helpful and food in the café is tasty and filling.
Fish and chips very good. Will go back to try breakfast
Picture is out of date as the location they are on now is on Idylwyld and with the new location they have been able to expand which is great. Sadly with Covid some of the items they usually have are now difficult to get. They still have a good range of imports from primarily England and some stuff from Scotland and Ireland and may have some things from Wales.
Good selection of products
Ok staff. My chips were undercooked and the gravy was terrible.
Great authentic British fare, with a small shop full of childhood favorites and new novelties to try.
First time going here had fish and chips it was perfect they also have a store that sells British foods which are interesting to check out its a ma and pa shop there very friendly if your looking to check out something different please come and check it out

Best chippy since England
Great place! Cant wait to try their new restaurant!
The best shop to find British Imports. Love it.
Been here lots. Love the egg and chips.
Full Monty is better than the film!!!!
Was fabulous! Went for my husbands 35th birthday and loved everything. My chips and scone were fantastic and Adam loved everything. The owner heard it was Adams birthday and gave him some free sweets! This is going to be the 1st place we go when restaurants open back up!
Best Fish and Chips in Town, bar none. Great service and very friendly.
Very friendly owner and delicious food. I reccomend looking on the deep freeze for some authentic baking and meat from the UK

The retail move from 8th street to Idylwyld actually closer to home for me. friendly helpful staff assisting me in purchasing treats for a 98 year old in personal care home( so important to have something during lockdown.. Love shopping and eating here- delish taste of U.K.
Needed to get a gift for a friend, the lady was so very helpful! She gave me ideas of what to buy and was extremely friendly! Would definitely recommend this cafe to everyone!
Best wine gums in the city!

Friendly staff, excellent British products
Want to check out soon some products i have never heard of but curious.
New place looks good. Food is made fresh and you can find some old favourites. Staff and owner very friendly. Some imported goods for sale in store too. I had a pie and chips and it was very good. I will be a repeat customer. Good job guys.
Authentic British at its best! Lovely service and a terrific selection of British treats. Go the Full Monty!
Checked this place out today for some good British fare and wasnt disappointed. Ordered the middle size breakfast and it was plenty. Good friendly service and the place is spotless will definitely be returning.
The lady server was very nice! and super funny and service was a little slow, but the food isn t as good as i was hoping and decorations could use upgrading to make it feel more like a british cafe(just one example is instead of hello canada magazines some british newspapers/magazines). Also the victoria sponge cake tasted store bought so uh i d say avoid that if you don t like yellow sponge cake. but if the sponge was made in store i would come back forsure! and fries and curry sauce was amazing!
The meat pie was incredibly delicious! And malt vinegar for my chips too! Yum. Good friendly service and a nice space. Ill be back.
Clean, inviting, great good. Our server was superb!
I had lunch here today and it was great and the service was awesome. Authentic British food with small town cafe atmosphere. You have to try this place you wont be disappointed!
Good food
Great authentic British breakfast!! Very good!
Had a very lovely breakfast! Staff are friendly, owner came out of his way to say hiya! And the selection of in store made take away treats is good! Scotch eggs...mmmmm. Highly recommend Churchills
Breakfast was great! Loved the cafe
Every time i have come here i have had absolutely amazing food, the staff are all so friendly and i will continue to dine here whenever i get the chance!
Good food, good service.
Been to the cafe twice. First time it was just open a couple of weeks. We had a few issues the first time but il just list the main ones. Service was slow.. we were on lunch and I ended up late getting back. My husbands pie was stone cold. The lady serving was lovely and I felt for her as she was the only one serving and it was very busy. I chalked it up to teething problems. We decided to try again and it was very disappointing. We were the only ones there when arrived apart from a couple finishing up so we thought yay we will get awesome service.. The food is very slow from the kitchen. The food itself is ok but the portions are very small, something Ive heard from other people who have been. For the prices I expected to get a decent portion. My husband got the shepherd pie this time which very bland no seasoning or butter in the potatoes at all. My chips where a little under cooked and the eggs was a watery consistency. The girl serving was lovely and did what she could. I love the store we shop there alot for sausages and pudding among other things but I dont think il be back to the cafe again in a hurry if at all.
Was great to find some uniquely British items in my home city. The fresh baked goods are exquisite.
So good, and very friendly
Can you open for Breakfast I.e. 8am or so rather than the 11am.?
Friendly staff, authentic food, decent prices, best fish n chips in town!
Loved the full english breakfast. Friendly staff and a great small cafe diner environment.
A great friendly place with great food. Cant wait for my next visit
Awesome fish and chips.

Great fish and chips best in town
Great staff and amazing selection for British specialties!
If youre a brit get a taste of home... awesome
Managed to get my Bovril from there.
Great people, variety and prices!
Ive found treasures here I cannot find anywhere else in Saskatoon. Always a friendly welcome as well.
Wonderful British import shop. Has everything you need plus a few happy surprises. The owner is very kind, honest, and helpful.
Perfect place to get some British imports and try something new! Staff are very nice and chatty if you are too.
Good service, friendly staff! I go there every year to buy a variety of various treats for my Mum at Christmas.
you can find things here from the UK that you cant find anywhere else
a bit pricey, but have stuff I havent found elsewhere.. friendly.
They have lots of stuff here, and good for reminiscing over old corner shops, but very very expensive! I have shopped the Brit shops in Alberta and BC and churchills is without doubt the most expensive. If your only looking for a bit of making a pig of yourself then I would go to the bulk barn.... they are a fraction of the cost!
