We have been talking about trying this place for awhile and I am glad we did. The service was impeccable and it was a great place to meet up with friends. We were a table of 4 and we tried their tasting menu. The food was all excellent and allowed us to try some things that were out of our normal comfort zone. After that experience we will be back again. The cocktails were inventive and delicious.

Just home from what has been one of the best meals I’ve eaten since moving to Saskatoon! My partner and I visited for our anniversary and went for the four course chefs menu, it was nothing short of delicious and amazing. The dishes have clearly been thought through and the chefs have a high attention to detail when plating so everything looked as good as it tasted. Highlight for me as a Brit was a scotch egg which was everything I hoped it would be. Our server was friendly, attentive, wished us happy anniversary and generally just a lovely person. In my opinion this is perfect casual fine dining, casual welcoming atmosphere with fine dining quality food. Final cherry on the cake, the chef came and presented dessert and had some classic West country banter (if you know you know). 10/10 - I’m gunna bring my mum here when she visits from England.

Went to F&B for my birthday celebration dinner. I have been very eager to visit since I am a huge foodie and love trying new restaurants. My bf wrote birthday dinner on the reservation but was not mentioned upon arrival, which I don’t care about but he noticed. Atmosphere: it was ok, I mean it’s clearly the exact same as sticks and stones which is fine. Looks clean and well kept. Drinks: I got their special Caesar and another drink which I can’t remember the name. Both were good except they were both HEAVY on lemon juice and lime juice. They were both so tart that it really had no other flavour. I liked the garnish on the Caesar and the other drink was pretty but honestly only tasted of citrus. Food: found everything good, however just ok. Kind of bland in my opinion. The appetizers were the beef scrumpet and tartare. Just lacking salt and pepper and unmemorable afterwards. My boyfriend got the burger with tots and the tots were burnt burnt. Problem I noticed, is the oil hadn’t been changed I noticed it on my garnish for the Caesar and then again in one of the appetizers. The beef scrumpet. My bf didn’t want to complain so he just ate the tots like that but they were very burnt. Next time I will make sure to say something but I think the oil was old. I got the pickerel as a main and again it was good but just ok. Nothing crazy special about it. Seasoned well and the pickerel was done well but I don’t see it as a $40 plate. Also the website hasn’t been updated so they didn’t have a few items that we wanted and the ingredients have changed. The crème caramel was amazing however we were given spoons and the strawberries are impossible to cut or pick up because they kept sliding all over the plate. You either eat the strawberry whole or nothing. Which is fine but we wanted to have bites of strawberry when we ate the crème caramel. Maybe they would be better macerated or in pieces? I will come back to try more appetizers as I saw the table next to us with multiple appies and I think it would be better as an appetizer spot for us. Bit disappointed as it was over $200. Probably won’t visit for a while. The service was good.

Amazing meal and experience. To start, our server did a great job of explaining the menu and features (which we ended up ordering). We shared the steak tartare, potatoes and pickerel wings. All were amazing but the pickerel wings were truly something special. The pork loin was tender and well marbled. Good portions. Cocktails are approachable and well executed. Crème caramel was a nice way to end the meal. Would highly recommend and will be back again!

I will start by saying I honestly thought I would have had a better experience. When Stick & Stones was in this location, the food, the drinks, and the service was top notch. My mains were kinda set aside for a bigger group of 6 which is fair but given that they ordered the same things as me and my partner, I don’t understand how they weren’t just made all the same time(keep in mind our mains were ordered before the group). The place is definitely an acquired taste. Lemongrass on wings which was quite salty for my preference, the pickerel wings were bland and the chili oil was mostly oil with no taste. The smash burger was middle to poor, you can taste the burger but didn’t really have any flavour. The bread was soaked with oil and the “FB” sauce didn’t really enhance the burger. This burger was also $32 Dollars. The mushroom risotto was the best part, but not comparable to some of the good risotto in the city. I would rate my experience here 3.2/5, The server was nice and friendly but the food and the execution didn’t seem to meet my expectations. Now I encourage everyone to try the place for yourself before making your decision. It could have been just a slower night and less care was provided.

Came back again for the anniversary with my boyfriend. We got the chef's tasting menu. Everything is wonderful and well thought out! Definitely the only place I would call a restaurant. Dishes are unique, creative! Both of me and my boyfriend enjoined it a lot. We also got some extra things from the restaurant for celebrating our anniversary. Overall very good food and service. Definitely will come back!

Food: Beautifully presented dishes on the taster menu, a table of 5 ordered a 4 course, multi dish meal with elegant presentation and unique combinations. Each food had care into crafting it, however, it lacked what we were looking for when it came to flavours and excitement. When we do similar options at other restaurants, typically there is consideration from the house to ensure that portions are more evenly distributed and presented to each recipient, rather then leaving it to the guest to half or split things up more. Service: was inconsistent. When originally seated, we received a list of specials, however, the entire process was actually almost to fast. Before everyone was comfortably seated we were already being conveyed information. My advice is to give guests 3 or 4 minutes from seating to find comfort and take in the atmosphere. Additionally, the wine menu hosted a great selection of products on it, however, we had asked for some discretion to the Garson to pick based on a palet preference. Instead of sharing with us that he doesn't have a lot of knowledge and was uncomfortable with that, he failed to just simply say so and get the more experienced person to help with our request. Instead, he continued to try and get us to pick something which was frustrating and fluttery. Atmosphere: the privacy, modern and segregated seating is both a positive and negative. It felt like we couldn't appreciate the restaurants decor or what kind of place it was. Every building has the ability to tell a story, but we didn't get to really see it because we were in a private area. Additionally and in contradiction to my comment, the privacy for the group was also passively comforting. Overall: a good restaurant, not a great one. A good selection of food, but a poor execution and allowance for groups who want a surprise but don't want to share each item, but would rather simply share the experience of each course. A little bit fast, and some clear differences in training as compared to the industry norms. TLDR: Try it for yourself, but get more details if unsure, and be clear on expectations as a guest to the house.

A wonderful dining experience! We had wonderful dining experience at F&B. Service was fantastic, staff was knowledgable, and ambiance was nice. The food was fresh, cohesive, and absolutely delicious. We did the 4-course shared tasting menu, which was $70/person. The wine pairing was an additional $50. We started with the Pickerel wings, which were seasoned wonderfully and sourced from an reserve in Northern Saskatchewan. We then had the marinated farmers vegetables from Outlook, which had wonderful flavour and paired nicely together. We then had the house coppa, which was crispy, balanced, and a great way to end the 1st course. The 2nd course was the risotto, which was unbelievebly great. Such a well made dish that anyone can enjoy! The 3rd course was the striploin, which was good, however the cut could have been better (for a $50 entree). The 4th course dessert was a 'baked Saskatchewan' -- a play on the baked Alaska. This was such a fun way to complete the meal. The drink selection was great, with a decent sized wine list. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. I'd recommend this restaurant for special occasions, date nights, and business meals. I'd happily come back for more!

Incredibly disappointed with our first experience at Food and Beverage, would definitely not recommend. I should have known better to take the time to read the google reviews and note that the business doesnt even care to respond to reviews at all - especially unfavorable ones! I ordered a virgin ginger gimlet, which was mostly ice with barely a few sips to drink for $11. Tasted nice, but not worth the cost. 5/10. For appetizers - the Pickerel Wings were fresh, but bland - 4/10. We expected the House Cured Meats with pickles to be like charcuterie - instead we were presented with a plate of a few slices of thinly sliced greasy ham and some vinegar soaked raisins - what a joke! 2/10 We ordered the Smash Burger without a bun and asked to substitute the tator tots for veggies instead - we were charged an extra $3 for asparagus (that the server said they had too much of) and the plate came with only the burger patty and veg for $31 total. 5/10 I ordered the Flank Steak for $45. It was plated pre-sliced with jus along with a small handful of watercress. I was not asked how I would like the steak prepared, and disappointed to find the temperature was not even warm when it arrived. Waited more than 20 minutes for the waitress to return to tell her of the issue and order another drink - depsite being amongst only a handful of customers dining. When she finally inquired I let her know the steak was not up to par and she took it away. There was no apology or conversation asking if I would like the kitchen to prepare another one, or offering to remove the item from our bill. The waitress returned a while later with another steak the kitchen had prepared - which was also lukewarm and chewy AF, totally unpalatable and inedible. I did not eat more than 2 bites of this. 1/10. When the waitress returned with the bill, I was shocked to see that the steak was still on there - our total was over $130. She presented the payment machine and watched intently as the tip options were displayed on the screen - at this time apologizing for the experience as we left a 15% gratuity. The food was overpriced and mediocre, the service lackluster - deserving of a 1 star review!

Great food! We had the four-course tasting menu and were very impressed. The smoked butter dip is just outstanding, as were the fried brisket croquettes. Food was a bit slow to out due to a group event that night, but our server checked in regularly and made sure we were all happy. Great food and great service.

Overall, 3.5 out of 5. Service was adequate. Feature cocktail was explained but we did not receive a drink menu. Shared 2 small plates: the cauliflower and the beets. Both were very good. Also shared the flank steak. It was room temp and the red wine au jus had not been heated through so the meat was cooler than it should have been. It could have used more seasoning as well in my opinion. The chips were good, but the smoked aioli was somewhat flat - also could have used salt or some more seasoning. The restaurant has lots of potential but just missed the mark this evening.

An even better dining experience than I had hoped and the reviews thus far left me with high hopes, indeed! I took my fella here to celebrate his b day and we were blown away! The atmosphere is relaxed and classic. Not pretentious at all. He started with a delicious cocktail and me with the undone gimlet. We had the beets as our starter at the recommendation of an old friend seated two tables over. These are veggies for people who hate veggies. A textural experience like none I have had before; silky beets with luscious goat cheese melted on top, crunchy walnuts and fresh tarragon!? I have never experienced anything like it! Apparently I was the first ever to try the flank steak special with triple cooked fries, and he had a gorgeous pork loin. Minds BLOWN. The Baked Saskatchewan dessert was the perfect finish, again with the various textures and temperatures. You d have to be crazy not to try this restaurant. We re heading back next week to celebrate my birthday so we can try altogether different items!

Not what I was expecting from the Grassroots Restaurant Group. There were only about 10 people in the restaurant. I couldnt hear music, just the drum of staff talking. Atmosphere 4/10 With so few patons, it was surprising that the food tasted like it was cross contaminated with the fish entree. Food 1.5/10 The quality, quantity, and experience is fairly low. Value for money 2/10 The cocktails were sticky sweet. It was reminiscent of drinking schnapps or some other sweet drink when I was in high school. Drinks 2.5/10 The server was great and attentive. Asked for feedback, was friendly, and knew the menu. In general the staff clumped together to chat at length and seemed bored and aloof. Service 3/10 If youre looking for a place to go for a special dinner, try Little Grouse, Hearth, or Odla instead. Better value and experience, 100%.

We went to F&B for our staff Christmas party and our experience was amazing from start to finish. Our server made sure our large group of 14 people was well looked after and our food came out in a timely manner. Chef Benet came to check on us and to talk about our dishes, which was a fun part of our evening. We worked with the manager upon booking to preorder some appetizers, which came shortly after we were seated, and all dishes tasted fantastic. Their drink menu had many options and our server was knowledgeable and had excellent recommendations. Many of us chose the striploin for our main and it was outstanding. Portion sizes were perfect and we ended our meal with the Madelines and baked Saskatchewan for dessert. We did not leave hungry! We will be back for future staff parties and dinners in between. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

This was our first try after Stick and Stones. We surely miss that place, but we were very satisfied with our experience at @foodandbeverageyxe . The drinks were the highlight. The bartender is very talented for cocktails and wine pairing. I will be craving the risotto, beets and duck from Lac brome, that was delicious. I liked the saskatoon version of a « bombe Alaska » that was cute. I would love to give a 5* but it lacked the « emotional » reaction I seek in a restaurant experience foodwise. Will be back to see how the menu evolves because some dishes (mentionned earlier) did give me that emotion, but not all food. Will also be back to try the new cocktails (cocktailwise we are talking parlour level guys, worth a stop to see Alex) thanks for your service, that was amazing.

Was in Saskatoon for business this week, and had a chance to check out F & B. It was highly recommended from the front desk staff at the hotel so decided to take my colleagues to check it out, and very happy that we did! The room was cozy and tasteful, and our server was super helpful when it came to ordering the feature drink, and the most popular dishes on the menu. I had the pickerel which was amazing, another guy had the risotto and he said it was the best he had ever had. Our other friend had the pork loin, and was told that it was from a local Saskatchewan farm which was impressive. Next time Im in Saskatoon there is no doubt where I will be bringing people. Went to F&B on Friday July 28. Realized that they had their grand opening opening 3 days prior. But we ordered the samosas, mixed vegetables, and the artic char. Service was ok from the waitress. She was definitely understaffed and had a lot of tables to deal with. Tok over 1.5hrs to get our food and we ordered appetizers first and they came out 5imutes before the food. The issues I had was the owner in the blue shirt kept coming to the tables and thanking everyone instead of serving or grabbing drink orders for the tables. He was to busy with the girls at the bar tops and having drinks with them. Overall the food was ok. Samosas was $13 and two people had to split a bite each. Vegetables were ok but again were just cherry tomatoes and some beans. If paying $16 for the appetizers I would expect more. Then came the main course which was arctic char. This dish was recommended as the best on the menu. Came out cold, 1 hr after ordering, and was bland. Sorry but for $110 tab I give it a 1 out of 10.

Wow - Dale & the team at F&B definitely didn t disappoint with this new restaurant! My partner and I sat at the bar, served by Travis. First he asked what kind of drinks we were feeling like, and made some excellent recommendations from their new drink menu. I enjoyed the Buenos Noche - a mezcal-based cocktail which was a great mix of smoothness and smokiness. For appetizers, we were recommended the pork cheek & jowl roulade and the marinated farmer s market vegetables. If you try ANYTHING from this menu, get out of your comfort zone and TRY THE ROULADE. I was slightly skeptical but this is one of the best dishes that Dale and his team have put out EVER (yes, it s that good). We then tried their smash burger for our main, splitting in half so we had room for dessert which I m so glad we did! We went for another recommendation from Travis, and got the baked saskatchewan . This dish was as beautiful as it is delicious! A member of the kitchen staff came to present and explain the dish to us, cutting it open to reveal this perfectly layered dessert. The food was amazing, but the recommendations and attentiveness of the staff just elevated this experience over many places in Saskatoon. We will DEFINITELY be back again, and we can t wait to try more of their new menu. Bravo, F&B. Bravo!

We went as a large group, shared a bunch of appies and enjoyed some drinks. The variety of apps was great from pickerel wings, farm fresh tomatoes, ayden wings, potato wedges, focaccia with market veggies and pork roulade - something for everyone! You can never go wrong with the lemongrass kaffir lime wings. The new standouts were the pickerel wings was nice and light and the pork roulade was at first intimidating for a few but was a good pick after trying it. For entrees, a few of us got the smash burger, pork and artic char. The smash burger was super tasty and rich; it could use a touch of acid to cut through the richness like pickles but overall it s what you want and expect for a fresh tasty burger. Baked Saskatchewan was a delicious dessert if you make it there!

The service was great, very responsive, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is questionable for the fine dining experience. Very loud and very crowded. We struggled to hear what the waitress was saying. It is not the place for a calm romantic night and even for meeting with friends if you have some things to discuss. To be fair we were there on Saturday night. The food was tasty, especially the lamb. Their signature on that day was pasta bolognese. Unfortunately, it was oversalted and was not worth the money. Overall, it was a fair tasting experience, but our expectations were higher. I also wish they would ask about preferences in food, and possible allergies as I believe it should be a standard nowadays. Cilantro was not indicated in samosa ingredients.
