Modern diner fare & breakfast cocktails in a bright, chill space with subway tiles & hanging plants.
Ordered a Latte as well as Fried Chicken and Pancakes. Total after tax and tip was $36.36. Walking in, we were happy with the rustic vibe. We also were happy to be sat at the window so we could watch the world go by while we had breakfast. Pancakes were buttery and delicious. The chicken had a very nice flavour. I definitely would return, but I think I would purchase something else. My only suggestion is that the chicken be hand breaded buttermilk chicken. I think that would have elevated the dish even more. But honestly it was really good for what it was. The coffee was also high quality and clearly brewed with care. Can’t wait to return !
We had a wonderful breakfast this morning, I had the scrambler which is one of the best meals I have had in a long time! My wife had the egg panini and it was great too. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Had the salmon eggs Benny and it was very good. Hollandaise sauce was great, and with the parm fries and a coffee, it completed the breakfast
This was the first restaurant I visited after arriving in Saskatoon, and the taste was really impressive. The portions weren’t very large, but just right, and the food was very delicate, looking great in photos. The staff were very enthusiastic and polite. Fried Chicken + Pancake ($21): The fried chicken was crispy with a slight spiciness. The pancakes were very fluffy, with blueberries that burst with juice when cut. The addition of syrup made it not overly sweet, perfectly complementing the chicken. Hometown Burger ($19): We added a sunny-side-up egg ($1.5). The burger patty wasn’t particularly thick or juicy, but the bun was very soft, and the sauce was just right, making the overall taste very harmonious. Additionally, we ordered a Drip Brew ($4) and an Americano ($4.25). Both coffees were of high quality.
Great brunch option if you want a good vibe and good food! It’s on the pricier side but you’re paying for a cool, more upscale environment and the food does not disappoint. Having the online waitlist makes it easy to plan when to come so you don’t end up waiting too long and the service is friendly if sometimes a bit slow when it’s busier.
Locals recommended this place for breakfast, as I was staying at a downtown hotel. Great wholesome standard breakfast fare. I had the eggs benedict with homemade hashbrowns and it was tasty! For coffee, I ordered a flat white and my friend ordered a cortado. Both our beverages arrived looking exactly the same. It was fair, but clearly the staff that day were not overly knowledgeable in coffee/espresso drink types/styles.
First time visit. The line up speaks to popularity of this restaurant and its well deserved. Took 40 minutes to get a seat but we were warned and they were almost bang on with the timing. There's a lot of cool stores around to wander through while you wait, and the wait is worth it! We went for brunch with friends that just moved to Saskatoon, we chose based on reviews. They didn't lie. Had the panini sandwich and my wife had the traditional eggs bennie. Both were generous portions (the hashbrowns are addictive) with half the panini coming home with us. We will definitely be back!
Great place for enjoying a Sunday (or whenever) brunch. The service is really good. It is a little bit busy, but the tables liberate fast enough that it does not make you feel impatient. The huevos rancheros were good; however, as a Mexican is my duty to let everybody know the flavours were not authentic Mexican for being the “Mexican option” of the menu. Other than that, it was excellent! The donuts were unreal. 💜
A new place for brunch I enjoyed. I have got my favourite breakfast stuff - pancakes. Thick and pretty strong style pancakes given me a new taste. I had and made thick soft sponge pancakes, totally different texture. During our dining, the background music was quite loud, I have little difficulty to focus and listen what my friend is talking. Decorating is fantastic and comfortable, a bunch of green hooked up from ceiling. So far I like this place and willing to have my pancake journey.
We ate here for the first time today and were blown away by the amazing service we got from Kim, and the amazing food! Kim was so much fun and took excellent care of us and made excellent recommendations. Look8ng forward to visiting again! Husband had the pancakes and fried chicken, and I had the bacon and egg panini and both were delicious!
Weve recently been to hometown diner for brunch. It has a nice and pleasant vibe with lots of live plants and holiday feels. We were seated immediately. We had the Greek veggie Benny with a side of soup of the day- red pepper and tomato soup. We also had the blueberry pancakes with lemon zest and butter topped with maple syrup The food was very appealing and was just as good. We enjoyed everything. Kate and Brandon were attending our table, and they both were great! Loved everything about the place, looking forward to our next visit Vegetarian options: Loved the options Dietary restrictions: Veggie, vegan and gluten-free
Cool place with unique food
Every thing about this place was amazing from the food to service. The vibe was perfect a little gem
The atmosphere, service, and food were all exceptional. I had a classic Benny and notified them that I had celiac disease and they were very helpful in accommodating my food restrictions. We had to be put on a 45 minute waitlist, but the food and experience made it well worth it. Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options! (Celiac disease)
Had a delicious specialty breakfast poutine from here for #yxepoutineweek. Very tasty combination! Great donuts too.
Exceptional food quality. Excellent service. Brought in 2 colleagues from Ontario today, and they were very impressed with the food, the service, and the decor. Ill definitely bring them by again the next time they visit! Thanks for the great impression!
Went for lunch with my daughter. Our first time time trying here. Food was amazing, service was phenomenal. The place is super cute. Great vibe all around. The girls gifted us a couple homemade donuts for the road - these are probably the best honey dip donuts weve ever experienced. Well def be back!
Great and fast service, good food, the place is clean. Food
Purely good food, it doesnt even matter what I say, if you dont go, someone else will take your place... Actually dont go.. Id rather sit down faster on a sunday
My mom and I came here for brunch and the food was absolutely phenomenal! I got the Greek veggie eggs Bennie, the eggs were perfectly poached, and the sauce was amazing! The hash browns were smashed little potatoes that were to die for! The staff was super friendly, and made sure my mom who is gluten free knew about the available options. Atmosphere gets 4 stars because it was quite loud in there but that is to be expected considering how busy it was! We will definitely be back!
I cant say enough about this amazing place! Service was amazing, and the food was WOW!!! I would highly suggest anyone check it out!!
Dont miss the opportunity to have breakfast here!
Love this place! Always enjoy the food, Always very helpful and friendly service.
Best brunch spot that has it all - online waitlist, fluffy donuts (order first as they tend to sell out fast), and the best hollandaise sauce on eggs Benny in the city!
Best homemade donuts you will find in the province. Ive had them all, truly. Best texture, best crumb, balanced grease and fat. Natural flavours to choose from.
Incredible breakfast!! We had the avocado toast with poached egg, blueberry pancakes and eggs Benedict. Everything was very well made and quality ingredients. Awesome atmosphere and hometown friendly service. Will definitely be back!!
One of the best brunch restaurants in the city, been here many times, great service
Came here after finding it with high reviews on google. I LOVED the vibe. Very hipster, decorated like a chill vibe coffee house with food options. Light on the background music without being too much. Staff is super friendly and give off a chill vibe. The menu is nice, has many great and tempting options. I got the Greek eggs Benny with ham and the potatoes. The potatoes were the best part I think- I loved the seasoning and how crispy they ended up. I also really enjoyed how thick the Benny sauce was. The only thing I didn t like was their coffee. Otherwise it was such a great place for a meal. I d return in a heartbeat and likely will if I m ever in town again! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian substitutes and options. Parking: Have to park on city streets and pay. Inching on sketchy area of town.
Breakfast was top notch. Waffles with sausage and smoked salmon benny.
Delicious brunch. The eggs benny is the best!
Very good place, a very good atmosphere. Friendly staff, better to book so as not to wait long. Very good food, to do again!
Oh, my! This place is delicious with a cool vibe and great service. Yum!
lovely friendly and most important the food is soooooo delicious.
Servers so friendly. Cool vibe and the most amazing food.
I ve been here several times and have always enjoyed it. Today I went with two others that had never been and they absolutely loved it. Wait times on weekends tend to be longer but it s worth it!
Everything about this place is great food is great service is great. Staff are great
Chicken club Sandwich 9/10 crispy bacon and Freshness of sandwich. My girlfriend had the Salmon Benny, she said a little too much Salmony tasting, could be little tastier!! Keep on keeping on Hometown!! :)
A great little gem for a lunch or a brunch. Will definitely return.
Super duper delicious and the staff is always very attentive and sweet! I m sad they recently switched up the menu and took off the chicken and waffles and instead put chicken and blueberry pancakes. My family only ever got the chicken and waffles and it s just not the same. I hope they bring it back, I will be first in line!
Love Love Love it! Food, Service is spectacular!
Great food and wonderful atmosphere One of the best breakfast/ lunch places in Saskatoon. The service is superb as well. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options and a couple of vegan plates all taste good.
This place is AWESOME. Great Food, great service, great atmosphere, they even have milk shakes, donuts and beer. If I could bring a bed in here there would be no reason to leave. Kid-friendliness: Family oriented. Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is at ground level.
The food at this place is incredible. Every dish we ordered was amazing, and we appreciate you accommodating us.
Went with my baby s they have consideration to bring their food all good go best place is Saskatoon for breakfast
Excellent, our server went above and beyond today, April 4 2014 at noon. Thank you, we will be back!
Food was amazing! My bf and I were both amazed with how awesome the tastes are. And I specially love the soup. Server had bubbly attitude. We went during busy hours so as someone who prefers quieter space felt a little bit anxious. But overall it s so beautiful and the greenery decorations were a great sight.
First time here. Cool place with the plants and space. Service was fast and I had the Scrambler - ham, sausage, tomato, cheese curd & hollandaise, opted for scrambled eggs instead of poached. I was certain the menu had hashbrowns but I was served baby potatoes, I really didn t mind but just something you may need to clarify. Overall good experience!
Such a perfect breakfast spot! Classically cool but perfectly modern.
Great lil breakfast spot!
My favourite brunch spot in the city!
Everything was perfect!
Always love going to Hometown Diner and when I saw the blueberry chicken pancakes on their facebook page, I absolutely had to try them! Expectations were high given the quality and service from all my prior visits! I went with a friend today at about 130PM and was seated close to the bar area, the server (didnt catch her name) was fantastic! She was friendly, efficient and very genuine! The blueberry pancakes tasted delicious and had lemon zest which brought such a unique flavour to them! The fried chicken on top had just the perfect amount of heat/spice which complimented the pancakes perfectly! Plenty of syrup too! I ordered a couple eggs on the side which were done perfectly! To cap things off, had the peanut butter banana cream pie which was so tasty! As I said before, high expectations going in and they were absolutely exceeeded! Will have to come back soon!
Name, name, name!!!
This was a nice spot to have brunch. The atmosphere is nice and bright with lots of seating. I loved all the plants overhead; they added a nice touch. The coffee and breakfast sandwiches were tasty. They also sell a donut of the day which was very yummy. The service was fast and friendly!
I thought it was a quiet and kinda relaxing place, but it was full when I get there. It s all good.! Parking: I parked at the other side of the block. A little bit of walk from the block.
I so enjoyed my first ever visit here and can t wait to come back. Their food is very good not just the taste but the quality. A cozy and laid back atmosphere and such friendly and professional staff.
My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday for brunch. Very good food! I got the salmon eggs Benedict and my boyfriend got the Ukrainian scramble. We both got lattes. Service was delayed but understandable with how busy it was. We will come back!
We had their blueberry pancakes and a latte, they were delicious! The atmosphere was cosy and staff were pleasant. I highly recommend this place!
My fave breakfast joint in Saskatoon currently. The very best donuts in the city, but you gotta be quick to get them! Classic breakfast food with a busy but modern dining experience. Love!
Food is really good, I love that they have gluten free options for celiacs. Service is always fantastic. Seating (unless you get a booth) is a little awkward but not enough to make me choose somewhere else to eat. The only thing that would make it a better breakfast place is if they had lactose free or dairy free options for cooking the eggs like tallow or lactose free butter. Not many places have that option so it would give them a nice edge. But its consistently really good!
I only had a coffee here when I was meeting a friend and it was good. The downside is the location as you have to pay for street parking or risk a ticket.
After numerous attempts at reaching a live human being Ive given up. Driving in from out of the province hoping to pick up donuts and apparently, no matter the time of day, phones are no longer being answered. Of course online ordering doesnt work weekends. Started calling Friday morning and have now called it quits.
Best eggs Benny around!! Such a really great atmosphere, lovely staff, its always a pleasure to stop in for some good eats.
I went in today to grab a hat for my sisters bday gift, as I came in everyone had a great attitude! Asked for the hat and the women at the front asked me if I also wanted some donuts on the house! Of course I couldn t say no lol. Very sweet of her! The donuts were super tasty as well! Highly recommend this place
A+
Good Eggs Benny breakfast except they sprinkle what I believe to be garlic salt liberally on everything and its not really agreeable. It takes over the flavour and almost 2 hours later I still have that heavy, semi-artificial garlic taste in my mouth. It would be much better if they dialed back the amount because it was really unpleasant.
Great food
I have had the experience of eating both brunch and lunch here now.I have had the very berry waffle and the Hometown Burger here now. The Very berry waffle was good but nothin special and not very filling. It was one waffle with whip cream, blueberries and blackberries as well as syrup in a cup on the side. The Hometown Burger was very good and tasty. I believe that was mostly because of its special sauce. It was also a decent size for a lunch or brunch burger and you get to choose a side with it. I chose fries and you got a lot and were excellent. Between the burger and fries I was full. Most recently when I was here the service was good for how popular and busy this place is but it felt like the food came out slow considering it was not at the busier part of the day. The atmosphere here is also very nice cause it s not too loud and can still have a conversation at a decent noise level. I would come back here again in the future.
A different experience. A good addition to Saskatoons restaurant choices. These people do things to potatoes that I can only dream about. I saw the Manger. She was working just as hard or harder than the other staff, filling in wherever necessary. Not just a pretty face.
Went here for lunch, got the roasted red pepper soup and the Mediterranean bowl with my mom to share ; which ended up being very good portion servings . the soup was DELICIOUS and the bowl was nice, loved the pearl couscous!!!. our waiter was very kind and attentive and she made sure to check in on us often. the only downsides were a little eyelash on our lemon slice, and just a lack of dishes that could be eaten for lunch . Overall I do recommend this place!!!
Delicious food. Good atmosphere, would recommend and will be visiting again. Parking: Visiting from out of town. Paid street parking Monday - Saturday. I was surprised Saturday was not free 2 hour parking. Food : 5/5 |
I like Hometown, but I was a bit bummed to see their menu change. So many lunch items were taken off! Food is always good. Although, the ceaser is interesting (personally I am not a fan of beets). Otherwise, service is so-so. Never great, never bad.
Busy place on a Sunday but well worth the wait. Loved how they make the hash browns here and potentially could be the best hollandaise sauce in the city.
My daughter and I love coming here every weekend for breakfast. We love the menu options. The service and atmosphere are amazing.
No pads or tampons in the washroom. The service was very slow.
Nice place. Great staff. Meals were pricey. Quality of food was okay. In general I find it hard to justify 20$ a plate for breakfast no matter how you spin it.
Family was seated quickly on Christmas eve brunch and kids loved their food although ate almost none of it (as kids do). Adults also enjoyed their meals. Bathrooms clean and enjoyed the bathroom artwork.
Great food, friendly service.
*updated* so its been well over a year since weve been back, Sunday wait times were up to 45 minutes to 1 hr at 10am. We checked at 9:30am and no waits, so very busy around this time, probably because most shops open around this time or later on a Sunday. The hostess had quite a few people getting added to the list ahead of us when we got there, but by the time we made it to the front, another woman came in behind us and grabbed her attention ahead of us. The hostess knew we were there first and could have insisted she wait until we were helped first, but she didnt. The woman behind us was obviously rude, but the hostess should not have let her. (1st mistake) The menu has changed a bit, which is to be expected. We ordered an Oat Latte and a London Fog to drink before looking at the menu. The Panini Breakfast Sandwich sounded good, I ordered this and my Husband ordered eggs benedict. Our waitress came by after about 5 minutes and asked if we ordered drinks with her, to which we reminded her our orders again. It seemed as though the order didnt get put through until this 2nd time, as we waited a bit to receive them.(2nd mistake) Ive recently enjoyed Oat Milk in my coffee so this was my first one here, and I would say it was ok, but not great. Ive definitely had better elsewhere at actual cafes, but it was palettable, my husband agreed that his London Fog could have been better, almost as though there wasnt enough or any syrup in it. Our meals arrived in a decent amount of time, but they BOTH came as Paninis, and my husbands eggs benedict was nowhere in sight. I mentioned that he should flag our waitress down to rectify the situation, but he insisted it wasnt that bad, as this was actually his 2nd choice. (3rd mistake) We chose wrong The sourdough bread was perfectly fine as was the cheese, but the egg on this sandwich was really heavy. At the centre of it, there was easily almost 85% egg to Bread/Cheese/Sauce ratio happening. I would say the egg was really flavourless and the sandwich overall could have used more sauce/cheese. I could not finish my sandwich and my husband only ate half. Throughout our meal we oversaw multiple mistakes from patrons next to us, so we were not the only ones to have a less than satisfactory experience. We ordered a donut of the Day to go and left. Overall, the atmosphere was a bit too loud to chat easily over breakfast, and we left feeling the $50 meal before tip was not overly enjoyable. There were plenty of places we thought in hindsight would have been better for our money. I know service staff have off days, and Im willing to overlook 1 or 2 things, but when we see overall even around us that things are not working, it throws us off it all together. While we were waiting around for our bill, I noticed the hostess at the front door standing around and I could not help but notice she was chewing gum. Now I may be nit picking here, but in the food industry, right after a really brutal pandemic(for which is still happening, regardless of what regulations are in place) chewing & smacking gum in public while working in a restaurant just seems unprofessional. After speaking with my husband, we wont be in any rush to come back here.
Always busy even on weekdays. Great place to eat if you don t mind waiting.
What a great atmosphere to be in! Great service and by far the best food Ive had in town!! 1000 times recommend! Food : 5/5
Always a great choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. A good value and fair prices menu with something for everyone. Always busy around brunch, so come early.
A nice trendy place was surprised how good the food was this place can get busy for a good reason will be back for sure
I have been to the Hometown Diner before. It has a great atmosphere. I went alone this time. I sat in the window and took in all the comings and goings. I always wanted to try avocado toast. I ordered it today. No regrets! It was great. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I havent had one bad experience here. Parking: You have to park on the street or use a paid parking lot. Street parking is also paid for. Unless you go on a Sunday. I went at 8 am Sunday morning. Tons of free street parking is available at that time.
Great food and awesome service .
Very unimpressed with my experience. Usually the food & service is great. Servers today weren t very nice and ignored us our entire visit. No refills on water or coffee, nobody to check in on our meals after receiving them. For the amount you pay you would expect a better experience especially after having to pay to park just to visit here
Recently came here for brunch with a group of friends. We were able to join the wait list online from home so we didnt have to wait at the restaurant or outside. We were told approximately 50minutes (we called at 1040am) so we planned on being there for 1115am to be safe. We were called at 11am and told we have 10 minutes to get there or our table will be given away. We asked for 15 minutes, and they did accept. Personally, I think they should give everyone 15 minutes since you can get anywhere in Saskatoon in that time frame. Our server greeted us promptly and we ordered 3 lattes and 4 water. The water came within 3 minutes, but the lattes took 10 minutes to arrive. It was busy so, understandable. But seems they might need more coffee machines. All 4 of us ordered eggs Benedict: 2 salmon, 1 Greek, and 1 ham. My friends told me the salmon Benny was delicious, but it was supposed to come with brie cheese, and both lacked it. I had the Greek Benny, and it tasted like seafood. Im unsure if they accidentally placed the salmon on my bed of spinach (comes on the benny) first and moved it to the other English muffin, or if something had gone bad, but I can only describe the taste as fishy and it was supposed to be vegetarian. The hollandaise was decent, but 3 of 4 people at people at our table said it was way too buttery and fat tasting. The hashbrowns, which resemble smashed potatoes were awesome! Overall, it wasnt my favorite breakfast place. I would probably go back to try something else, but the first impression was mediocre.
I keep forgetting to review this one because everytime I eat here its a great experience. Even coming half n hour before closing time. I told them I dont mind taking the food with me if theyre closing right away. She had given my girlfriend and I a warning that they were closing in 30 minutes but did not mind at all we were in there for a few extra minutes after four. A plus for hometown diner, highly recommended next to Filosophy (which is expensive but comparable with food)
Great vibe. It reminds me of Portland, OR and Flagstaff, AZ. We walked in near noon on a Friday and had to wait for a table for two for about twenty minutes which isn t bad. The donuts of the day were caramel macchiato and honey-dipped. We chose honey-dipped which was a nice yeast donut with a light glaze. For our entrees, we had the beef dip and brekkie bun with sausage. We had the potatoes on the side. Everything was delicious and savory. Our server was very friendly and conversational. I d definitely return.
Amazing food! Excellent donuts! Great service!!!
Best chicken and waffles in town, food and service was great
High level breakfast
I tried the eggs Benedict and the creme brulee donut. The eggs benedict were simple but the (housemade) hollandaise sauce really brought the whole dish together. The portion size for the bacon was generous and the bacon was smoked, crispy and delicious. I also really enjoyed the donut. It had a rich vanilla cream filling that had a faint taste of spirits, as many fancy donuts Ive found tend to, and the sugar crust was nice and crunchy.
Had an amazing experience for my first time there! The food was great and the server was very friendly. By the time we paid, we were given these delicious donuts to try, would definitely come back again! Parking: Parking was easy, had to pay but that s okay!
Excellent, trendy, service awesome clean, food great. Lots of nice choices. I will go back.
Great food, service, and vibes. What more could you want?
Took a friend there on Mar 18 for a late breakfast. As Im on a carb free diet I went to my go to - omelets. As usual it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. My friend ordered the Veggie Brekkie and was overwhelmed by the serving. As a professional cook she was impressed by the presentation and amazing taste - unfortunately, her eyes were bigger than her stomach and she couldnt finish her toast. We were served by the ever friendly Karena who (along with the pleasant greeter) kept our coffee cups full. Ive been here many times and been treated with respect and superb service always.
Great food service and ambiance
The place was freezing. Its extremely difficult to enjoy your food when every time the door opens you get a blast if cold air. It appears that the outside door was removed. The server was a pleasant person but definitely disorganized. I certainly will not be returning.
This was THE BEST Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. Friendly service, super cool atmosphere and delicious food 10/10 highly recommend!!
The food and service were great. Just looking at this picture makes me hungry again. The scrambler was really filling.
Great little diner. Love the eggs Benedict with a coffee. You ll also find a lot of great lunch options.
Lucky enough to get a table Friday for lunch. Food was good enough to excuse for a long wait for food (busy kitchen). Server (Molly) was full of knowledge. Excellent server. Did NOT save room for a dessert donut; had one anyhow. Well worth it. An absolute gem. Will absolutely go back.
Best donuts Ive ever had. Loved the eggs benny as well. Really great experience with very friendly servers.
Some of the younger crowd may enjoy the atmosphere however not really for me. The food was quick and tasty but variety on the menu is extremely lacking. Seems like they cater to a certain genre of people. Staff wasnt really very friendly and not topping up coffee as much as needed.
Enjoyed our breakfast here.
We had breakfast at this place and it was really good. The taste of the food was so rich and delicious. The staff was super friendly. The ambience and the music were so good. The place had a great vibe. I had chicken and waffles, and it turned out to be one of the best breakfasts i ever had. I definitely recommend this place.
Had the salmon Benny and Tomato bisque, finished off with peanut butter pie... The food and service was on point.
Definitely coming back when I visit Sask again. Ordered Salmon Benedict with Hash Browns. Portion is a bit small for a small person like me, but it was worth it.
This was my first visit. I met a friend for brunch at 10am on a Thursday. There were other customers but it wasnt busy, tho it was picking up when we left. Service was fast and super friendly. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, and reasonably priced. I enjoyed the open, spacious ambience. I would definitely go again. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant area appears to be fully accessible but I did not use the washroom. As a bonus, it is not crowded with tables, so it would be relatively easy to manoeuvre around.
My partner and I used to love it there. Great food, great atmosphere, and absolutely fantastic coffee. They have since gotten rid of their coffee machines to open a standalone coffee shop and it really just isnt the same.
Very cute design inside. The servers were chill and had good banter. I had the bacon and egg panini. Would go again on my next Saskatoon visit.
Got the steak and eggs with a side of waffles and it was amazing
Quick and friendly service in a restored industrial style restaurant. The food was good but would have liked more seasoning and stronger coffee.
My girlfriend and I had such a good experience at this place. The service was quick and friendly. Our server Molly took great care of us and even gave us some free donuts since our food was taking a little bit long. Food was 10/10 and we left happy!
Didn t get a single photo (of the food) because I was busy SHOVELLING the UNreal chicken & waffles in my mouth! Such a bright and vibrant breakfast/brunch spot, with amazing selfie spots!!
Very cute restaurant with lovely friendly staff! We waited quite a long time for our food which is fine but when we did get our food both our eggs were super over cooked and rock hard (we ordered medium poach) which was disappointing. My husband got the traditional breakfast and it was very plain and quite small for $20. I got the avocado toast and it was very yummy but would have been even better if my egg had actually been runny on the inside. The sides are all really delicious, but you only get half of a small waffle when you order that which seems strange. Overall a good experience but just a few minor things could have made it perfect.
Great food. Minimalist and contemporary. Great spot to people watch. Cold brew hit the spot. Best hashbrowns!
Amazing food and fantastic service. Never disappoints! Greek Eggs Benny is a dish you just have to try. A+++
Great brunch, though I would have liked the option for a physical menu
Server bring up my milkshake and tell me it s messy and left without apology. Worth serving experience.
Excellent food and friendly helpful staff made for a very enjoyable first visit. Definitely recommended!
Hometown Diner is an overall great experience. From the service, to the daily new donuts, nothing beats Hometown. I ve come here so many times and will continue to come back.
Food is great but 45-50 minutes to get a breakfast dish cmon. Are here three times now. Doesn t seem to matter if it s 12-1 or after busy or not food is slooooow Food
Really good chicken and waffles
Such a great place for brunch! We have been a few times now and the food is always spectacular. Service is great! They re usually quite busy but that s because no one can stay away it s so good! Chairs are kind of uncomfortable but that d be the only negative thing I have to say.
Waited 5 minutes for our drinks then waited 20 minutes for service we didnt get. Ended up paying $15 for orange juice and I coffee I didnt drink because I couldnt get cream like I asked for because there wasnt any service. Walked out. I wouldnt know what the food tastes like because no one would take our order.
Very disappointing visit. We arrived shortly after 10 a.m. waited 25 minutes to get in, then we waited for coffee/tea then had to ask again for condiment. Our order hadnt been taken yet by this time is was 1130 - so we paid for beverages and left. It seemed there were many people working nothing was happening something was out of sync - it was not well run at all. Needless to say we wont be back.
Amazing breakfast with lots of different options, good portions as well. Service was quick and if you come early it wasn t too busy.
Delicious elevated home style breakfast! Don t miss the carrot cake pancakes! Food : 5/5
Had breakfast here, the sausage was noticeably cold biting into it. The coffee is cold. The place is way too loud to enjoy your breakfast. The service is lacklustre. There were flies flying around all over the place. It became unbearable. The toast and the water was good. Weird as that sounds. Unfortunately it did not hit the mark.
We dropped in for breakfast on a Monday morning. The server was terrible we asked for a kids menu and they didn t have one which is really odd. She also couldn t tell us or recommend anything from the menu which was child friendly. The food was excellent but the service terrible, waitress was friendly when we pulled out our wallet to pay that was the only time she striked up a conversation. I would give this place a 5 stars but our service experience was horrible.
My server was very nice about my food restrictions. I love the vibe there, although sound can get loud once more people come in. There was garnish that I am sure others would enjoy, the chefs know how to fill with flavours, but was just more than I could handle for my day, so I felt bad for scraping it off. I was able to eat plain toast with their divine homemade jam and their bacon, along with my eggs, and I gave in and had a bit of their hashbrowns which were also really good and made me wish I could eat them all. I love the greenery and light and the friendliness there. Its hard to find places where I can eat anything, so it was nice.
Second time coming here and its a good spot! Ordered the chicken and waffles both times but it was made differently this time. This most recent way was cut up pieces of chicken with a lot of bacon pieces thrown on top. The bacon was an interesting choice because I felt like it took away from the chicken profile. I mean, who doesnt like bacon? But it was just too much in comparison to how much chicken there was. Also if were going off presentation, the cut up pieces felt a little bit sloppier in comparison to a whole piece with potentially a few pieces of added bacon on top like a garnish. The overall flavour profile was quite good, the prices and Sriracha was a good touch. Waffle itself could have been a bit more. Was a bit flat with not much crisp and wasnt especially fluffy either. Will come back because theres other things on the menu also sounds tasty and Im sure they will be good also!
Food is AMAZING and was worth the 45 mins wait. We just went to junior nearby for coffee while waiting for a table. I got the scrambler bowl which was like a skillet. Super delicious. My husband was also very happy with his chicken and waffles and our friend said her omelette was the fluffiest one shes ever had. So overall we all loved our food. The place is also adorable with some fun art and lots of plants.
Breakfast at lunch? Yes! Brunch at lunch? Yes! Pierogies anytime with an an egg on top? Heck yes! And diner coffee that gets topped up when needed? Yeah baby! Its a bit pricey for breakfast fare but it delivers a solid punch with taste and portion size. The coffee mugs are ergonomically pleasant which just makes you want to drink more! Diner / comfort food with heart in Saskatoon.
Is it possible for one to have a bad meal here?? The Greek eggs Benne is to die for as always.
Great food and great service! Kate is a real gem to have working here!
We were in town and decided on this place for breakfast! We were not disappointed. Service was amazing, the restaurant itself was quite aesthetic and the food was even better.
Highly recommend this for brunch! Our food was delicious! Service was great!
Great place, food fresh and good tatse and good services.
I had breakfast at this place a few times and on each occasion the food was very good and the people were very nice and friendly to me. Thank you very much!
Very chic , great food ! Small portions , slightly pricey and long waits . Food
We are so glad we stumbled upon this place on a recent trip to Saskatoon. Unique and delicious brunch with fresh ingredients. Would recommend for sure!
This used to be one of my favorite places but is now just a good enough place to go if you can swing the cost. I ordered the Ukrainian breakfast, and the perogies tasted like they were frozen and then boiled. The dough was crumbly and soggy, with barely there filling. I ordered a lemonade, and I knew it was $5 but was not expecting such an insubstantial glass. It wasnt much larger than their water glasses, filled with ice, and comes with no refills. Lemonade is not a terribly expensive drink, and I feel like $/ml I get more lemonade when buying at something like a convention even with the jacked up prices. The lemonade tasted like lemonade, and if it came with refills it wouldnt have been a talking point. But $5 for a small glass and no refills seems unreal. Service was great, however the volume of the music was so loud it was hard to concentrate and talk to the other person at the table. You can probably find better food elsewhere in the city, Id look for it.
love the atmosphere and the food was delicious
Incredible food, service, and atmosphere.
Decent place. I got the salmon and asparagus eggs benedict. The asparagus was extremely overpowering and bitter, bringing down the dish. For a $23 meal, it was highly disappointing. Atmosphere was okay if a bit loud due to the music.
Amazing breakfast and lunch menu. Always bring our out of town guests here. Love everything!!
Delicious brunch
Amazing food amazing decor. So cute. Also got free dessert! Had the CB club it was great. Also great place if you need substitutions.
Fabulous food. Wow!!! Service was slow and a but noisy but the food made it worth it. GREAT CHICKEN BACON CLUB.....not listed below...the soup too was great!
Stopped in for lunch the other day and we all left full and satisfied! Excellent food, good portions and friendly staff. Cool place to check out and I will be going back.
Might just be the best breakfast/brunch place in Saskatoon! Hard to argue with very happy tastebuds!
Only problem is I did not go to Hometown diner I went to the cannabis store five buds next door
Food was amazing. My girlfriends first time and she enjoyed it. Service was a little lackluster but they were swamped when we arrived so understandable. We will definitely be back to try something new!
Great breakfast, friendly staff. Ask for Molly.
Very tasty food!
Great experience!
Personable waiter, that made an effort to connect with his Patrons. Well done!
Really good eggs Benedict. Love the potatoes too!
always a reliable place for brunch & drinks with the girls, the wait time to get in can be quite long so definitely use the waitlist function
Great lunch. Food was delicious. Server was awesome. Perfect! Food
We didnt have a great experience as soon as we entered the restaurant. In -25 they asked us to stay outside!!! The food was really ok. Nothing special. Our waitress was very friendly. Wish I could recommend it to friends and family. Cheers!
Food was very good, coffee was wretched.
Expensive and loud ... Assuming you get in at all. But the food was good and the staff were great. If you like the hip and trendy breakfast vibe then this might be your place.
It was not bad, but not special nor delicious :) just so-so.
its amazing I love eggs Benedict Kid-friendliness: My kids love IT
Servers there are kind and service was super fast even when it was busy. Delicious food, awesome people.
