State & Main in Saskatoon

Not a place to celebrate any kind of occasion, food was super basic and server just came off passive aggressive when we asked for any accommodation. Will be our first and last time:)

Pasta was terrible and the service was slow

Young, fun atmosphere, lots of tvs, food was excellent! Highly recommend the enchiladas and the pistachio crusted salmon and the main st mocha pie or cheescake for dessert! Would go back again tomorrow if we werent heading out of town!

One of me & my husbands favorite spot for our day dates. Food is amazing , I usually get it the baja fish tacos but tried the honey glazed Cajun chicken today with mashed potatoes and asparagus & omg I ate every bite! It was delicious .

First visit to State and Main. Restaurant was spacious and the booth was comfortable. Service was very friendly. Bathroom was clean. Food was expensive and arrived in ~30 minutes, which was too long to wait, but it was good.

We just went for dine in yesterday and it was the first time we went to state and main Suchh aaa WORST EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! We were told that our server is busyy with another group so she will be here soon Nobody came for another 15 minutes then one lady just ask that she is still busy if she can get us drinks, I ask for 2 pepsi or coke then NO SERVER LIKE LITERALLY NOOO SERVER AT ALL!!!! appears for half an hour then she came again and askk OHHH!! She is Stilll busy ..Can I get something to eat for you, I ordered one appetizer.. WE FINISH IT!!!! Wait for ANOTHER HOUR !!! NO SERVER AT ALL AGAIN?????? NO body even ask that if we want order food or anything..NOTHING!!!!!! After sitting there for almost an Hour and half another server just came and said your server just left and she told me to take your rest of the order. AM LIKE SERIOUSLY!!! Did We actually got any SERVER????? because nobody just came to us. She said yeah because she didn t want to work today but she had to?? SO WHAT??? IS THAT OUR FAULT???? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AT The end i just paid for our appetizer and left..!! OH YEAH!! They gave me discount on pepsi LOL..!! WORST SERVICE!!!

Had a steak, was cooked as requested and a good cut of meat. Overall the plate was great. Service was a bit lacking but it was late at night. I would suggest and will be back again.

We are in town visiting family for two weeks and searched for a restaurant on Google and this was the first place that popped up so we decided to give it a try. This was the best dining experience we have had in a long time. All the food from apps to desert was awesome. Highly recommended and would dine here again.

Had a super restrictive diet and called the night before discuss. Didnt want to bring this up with my client. As promised the kitchen management discussed when I arrived I had a perfectly prepared meal to my requirements

We were a group of 50 that booked the day before. The restaurant was very helpful with the booking, could accommodate our group, and answered all of my questions. When we arrived for the dinner, the staff was friendly and calm and managed the whole group expertly. The atmosphere and space was perfect for our group. My husband and I just went here for a late night supper while Travelling through Sask and it was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had on a very long time. Our server was attentive and very helpful. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Food was amazing. I only gave the food 4 stars because Im a fussy eater and there wasnt much on the menu that interested me, but what we did order was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this location.

It was our first time at the restaurant and we decided to try out the valentines menu. The food was unbelievably good. Myself and my husband really had a nice time. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, every meal that we had would conveniently get a 5-star rating. I think everyone should try the bang bang shrimp. The staff who attended to us were the icing on the cake. We will definitely come back again.

I always order the same food - its just an all time favorite! UPDATE. I came-in for lunch at past 1pm. Food is always good. Calamari & Brown Rice. Server was very nice! Always satisfied!

No idea why they have a 4.1. We went over lunch time. The server was so quick, so friendly, and our food came so quickly. I had the Bangkok bowl and loved it. I lived in Thailand and the flavours were very similar to a true pad Thai. Devon s beef dip had nice moist beef and great flavour. Great meal, great vibe, go here!!

The winner here is anyone having the tomato bacon soup soooooo good, the rest of the menu is ok, but the burger is terrible dry burger terrible bun just not a good burger.

They are having pretzels on their menu and I went there for that. Its very hard to find a parking spot and after I found one and payed for it, I went in the coffee shop and guess what? No pretzels! I left the place a bit disappointed about my experience. My advice is to give a call before you go there.

You can expect their cocktails to be expensive but delicious. The food is also pretty good and Ive always had good service. Tends to get pretty loud when full

The food was trash, the first time I went here I had a salad it was all brown so I didn t go back until 3 years later and I returned and gave another chance and it was just a repeated encounter, but on the other hand their Stella s on tap are just immaculate every time so that s where I go to get Stella s because everywhere else is trash because the beer is always dead flat. So Id like to start off with the fact that we had exceptional service from all staff. They made sure we had everything we needed and didnt rush us out when we stopped in for food and drinks after an event. One of the best most friendly experiences yet. Food is amazing, I love doing dealers choice and the food and beverages served were top notch!

unfortunately we had poor service and posted a negative review. After posting Manager David Thompson reached out and thru email communication / texts stepped up and corrected the issue. Big shout out to him. unfortunately I m from out of town and next time in Saskatoon I will definitely try this place out. Thanks David.

Food is so so delicious

i typically LOVE this place. but tonight me and my boyfriend ordered their parm chips and pretzel bites. when it came, all we got was the chips and my boyfriend had to drive all the way back to get the pretzels only to bring them home and ALL of the cheese had seeped into the pretzels and they were a soggy mess and had to throw them straight into the garbage. $50 we spent on this and most of it went in the trash. this was very disappointing, and probably won t order takeout from here again

Your fries are the most deceiving fries in the world. They do not look like good fries, but they might just be the best fries in the world. Especially considering how good they were after a 20 minute skip drive! But yeah. food is awesome, highly recommend

This place has great food. I have tried several dishes here so far and they have all been enjoyable. The fish tacos are my current favorite here. Parking: There are a number of paid lots near by and some street parking but it isnt plentiful.

Shouldve went with butter chicken.

We used to visit this location quite often but havent had a chance to stop by for quite some time. Came in on a Wednesday evening for dinner and were seated right away. I love the look of the bar as it is beautiful. The restaurant had a faint sewage type of smell we noticed almost immediately. Server was friendly and got our orders through. Asked for a recommendation and the Royal Bangkok Bowl is what I settled with. My wife had the Chicken Enchiladas. We started with the lettuce wraps which were okay. It only came with 3 pieces of lettuce so that was a bit of a disappointment as we had to ask for more. As compared to other places like the Cactus Club, I would give them a 6/10. My wife really enjoyed her Enchiladas. I did get to try a bite and it was good! However, I did not enjoy my Royal Bangkok Bowl. I dont mind spicy but this dish was a bit too much for me. It was a bit bland tasting. After a few bites, I mentioned it to the server. Her solution was to bring me more water but that doesnt resolve overly spicy food. In all honesty, I would have preferred if they were willing to accept an alternative. I am assuming most restaurants would be willing to send it back to the kitchen and provide a different meal. I would have been more than happy to pay for it. I dont usually like to complain but I did mention it to our server. She didnt really think anything of it and kind of brushed it off. I can appreciate that there isnt a whole lot they can do but I really felt that it wasnt a big deal to the staff. I ALWAYS finish my meal or get it packed up. I left more than half the meal untouched as I just couldnt eat it. I tried but literally left the restaurant hungry. Just a bit disappointed as I come from an industry that customer service is vital for our success, and I felt like I was being brushed off. I could understand if the restaurant was extremely busy and they were just unable to accommodate for my situation. However, the restaurant was a bit slower (Wednesday evening) which would have given them ample time to find a resolution. My advice, listen to your customer and at least attempt to provide a viable solution. I never would expect anything for free and would have been willing to pay for an alternative meal. Thank you.

I just want to quickly review how my service was. The server serving me for 90 mins was very friendly and provided great service asking me if I need more water after a very long walk. I bathrooms had soap and napkin like towels and touch water sensor taps so you dont have to turn then off with your hands. No germs. It looks very spacious in there. Food prices were kind of expensive but i was ok with that as I needed calories to recharge my long walk deficit. I will be returning here in future but not soon.

Prefect places for a Friday night.

Solid experience. Our server was awesome and was good with our kids. She took our dietary requirements seriously. Our food arrived promptly and was as ordered even with the substitutions we made. The kids menu has the usual options and my son really enjoyed the grilled cheese. The kids menu also has a bunch of jokes on it that entertained us for a while. My grilled cheese burger was big and flavorful. It is a bit loud for family conversation but it is a bar/pub afterall so I cant fault it for that. Dietary restrictions: Has a separate gluten free menu but a shared fryer. Kid-friendliness: Has a kids menu with jokes but no coloring activities

Cajun chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus was amazingggggg could not stop talking about it. I was full to the brim and so happy with my choice. We came for a birthday dinner in a rather large group and were all asked about refills and our waters were refilled before ever being empty. Service was impeccable and the inside is stunning ! 10/10 recommend

Cozy bar atmosphere, good food and decent portions for a good price. The cocktails were delicious. They handled my dietary restrictions well and were able to make me a meal that I could eat. Im very pleased with the music and general atmosphere. What really throws it off and ruins the experience are the 13! TVs that tower over the entire area restricting the outside view and creating a distraction from all the good thats going on everywhere else. Sports bar? Dinning lounge ? I wish these places in Saskatoon would make up their minds its not working to mix the two in my opinion. Sorry. The food is great!! PS please remove the cheap salt and pepper shakers from the tables.

The food and staff are always great, but the music over lunch was deafening. To have to practically yell at the person sitting right across from you equals a 3 star headache and bad experience.

Got calamari, chicken sandwich, and a burger both with fries from here as a pick up order. All of it was very overcooked and dry. Having gone to a lot of places in this city, the quality was closer to McDonalds than Earls or something similar. Pretty sure the calamari wasnt cooked properly, since my fiance and I shared it and we both got so sick from it today to the point we did an at home covid test (negatives for both of us) just to be sure. I do not suggest this place, at very least not for anything other than dine in. The employee was also very down the whole time during our interaction, seeming to act as if it was an annoying inconvenience that I ordered a pick up order while the dining room was practically empty.

The food was amazing. We shared two orders of wings and an amazing bison burger on a gluten free bun (my wifes preference). The drinks were delicious, and service from the time we walked in to when we left was stellar! Were looking forward to our next visit to State and Main.

Always have had a great experience at Saskatoons State and Main. The atmosphere is perfect for casual or luxury dine in and the food is mouth watering. Had one of the best Pina coladas ever at this fine establishment! Definitely recommend!

Delicious! Went for lunch and had a great meal. Had chicken tenders and fries which sounded basic but did not dissapoint. Well definitely be back again!

Walked in at around 11:30, there was nobody at the front to seat us. After seating ourselves (because it was dead anyway) we waited for 5-10 minutes for someone who worked there to appear, as there wasnt even anyone behind the bar. Eventually a gentleman appeared from the back, looked at us, continued to the till, fiddled about there for a minute and then buggered off to the back again without a word. At this point it appeared that service from anyone would be a lost cause, at which point we left.

Absolutely garbage. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. Waitress was wonderful. Bartender and (maybe) main manager watching the hockey games. I wish -% tips were a thing. I dont even think the bartenders worked there. Ordered bison burger. Came out as a slider. Ate it in 4 bites. $19 rather have a big Mac that tastes better. Fries were good though!

We had a large group for a meal today and were all so disappointed with out meals. The steak was so bland and and tough, the only good thing on the plate was the potatoes. Also the the pasta was barely cooked and tasteless. The service was the only good thing about this restaurant.

State & Main is one of our favourite go to places, mainly for the Main Burger . This evening we used Skip the dishes to order our dinner. It s always a gamble when ordering two of the same meal on Skip because you have to wonder if the cooks always see the 2 beside the order. Our meal arrived missing one of our burgers. We contacted State & Main because we were very much looking forward to it. The girl who answered the phone was very kind and polite, and the manager Dave was phenomenal. He personally offered to bring us a new one, which in our minds was above and beyond already. We know how short staffed everywhere is right now including the restaurant industry and this was way more than we could have asked for. Dave arrived with our meal and on top of that they added in two desserts. This was way above and beyond our expectations. Thank you so much State & Main for a wonderful meal and even better service.

Parking: Went around 6:00 pm parking was hard to come by had to park a block away.

Not impressed. Ordered food and was missing gravy for our fries and poutine, the chicken wings were missing, part or another order, and sauces. We used to order from here all the time. Pretty disappointing getting a poutine with no gravy and missing stuff after $80 of food.

The chicken wings and calamari appetizers are nothing special. The 10oz steak New York Strip was grisly and tough. Bar service was slow as well. Sorry State and Mainthis was our first visit and probably our last.

Awesome. Came at 2:00 pm on a Sunday for appetizers and drinks. Ordered spinach artichoke dip, fish taco, chips. Excellent food quality and preparation. Great taste and fair size portions. Server was friendly and prompt. Prices excellent for the quality and quantity. Highly recommend.

I feel like they changed up their menu recently in the past couple of years - its definitely a change for the better. We had the Margherita Flatbread and the Bang Bang Shrimp, and now Im hooked! 10/10 would recommend!

What a rip off. I ordered fish and chips with a side order of seasonal vegetables. Apparently that means they replace the fries with vegetables. 1 piece of fish and no fries. I am going to have to make a sandwich for supper now.
