The Dan Dan Ramen was the best Ramen I’ve had in Saskatoon!
The food is delicious! Service is great, and you DO NOT need to tip at all. The atmosphere is similar to many other Asian restaurant joints. Great food place in Saskatoon.
Great ramen and sushi. The place was decently sized and had an inviting atmosphere to it. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I recommend it here to anyone going for some Japanese cuisines around the East side of Saskatoon.
The sushi here is exceptional. I wish they had a few more vegetarian options, but overall a really good experience. Food was great, the service was really good and the free green tea was a nice touch. I've been here a few times and will definitely return.
Always a place for us to stop whenever we're in town. Not a fan of their ramen noodle type/texture but still a solid broth. Everything else is amazing as always! Too bad they were out of takoyaki. It's the BEST.
Decent sushi place. We ordered the chirashi bowl, special rolls, sashimi platter, and ramen. Can’t complain about tastes but the serving size was definitely a victim of inflation. As an example, the arctic surf clam was cut in half and each piece was “one piece” 🙃same with the salmon sashimi etc. the saving grace was the price being lower than the average sushi place in Calgary
I've been to this sushi place several times and have always loved their ramen. However, I was quite disappointed with the Katsudon on my recent visit. The Katsudon wasn't up to par, and the vegetables (sides) seemed not as fresh as expected, as you can see from the picture. It's possible they might not specialize in these dishes. Despite this, I'll stick with their sashimi and ramen, which have always been excellent.
Amazing flavours! Great textures, too! Very affordable, too. We had the Dan Dan Ramen bowl, which was so fill of good complex flavors and just the right amount of heat. We also had some specialty sushi rolls, like the Hawaiian and the Alaskan King Crab sushi rolls. They were big (a real mouthful), but very tasty!
So far, this would be one of the best Ramen in Saskatoon
Its probably the best ramen in the city. Their sushi is good too!
spend $50
Went in and got seated. We waited 20 mins an no one took our order...I have never in my life left someplace after getting sat down but this was the first time. Even tried to wave down the waitress to take our order but it seems like she did not care so we got up and left and went to a different establishment where we got seated and ordered within 5 mins...
The best sushi I always get the dynamite roll and cali roll and the dan dan ramen is sooo good
Generally ok
Always amazing. Best ramen in town. 100% recommended to everyone and anyone.
Food was okay. Restaurant needs a very good cleaning. Lots of visible dirt and grime.
Always amazing. Love everything I have tried.
I have ordered takeout and dined in here and they have always been consistent no matter what. The staff are super friendly and provide efficient service when I do dine in. When I do order takeout, I tend to call them directly to avoid giving SkipTheDishes a cut of the revenue. Either way, the food is always consistent in quality and taste. This place is my go to for Tonkotsu Ramen as its never too salty or has the broth being too rich. The char siu pork that comes with also melts in your mouth. Their ramen is also reasonably priced and tastes better than other restaurants ive tried in Saskatoon. The sashimi options are great too and really fresh. I would absolutely recommend this gem of a place to anyone looking for delicious ramen!
Great food. Everything was wonderful. Parking: Lots of space to park, and it s free. Kid-friendliness: Great for kids.
Food was very good for a good price too atmosphere is very amazing had a old anime playing when I went 10/10 would go to again
Food is always good! I love their Dan dan ramen and dragon rolls.
Service was really bad. After asking if I could possibly order, she was frustrated and was super rude. Our food came out completely cold and soggy, like it was sitting there for a long time. I asked if it was supposed to be warm and the gentleman said yes, after he started helping everything was better. I wouldn t recommend for sushi, edamame or miso soup maybe a bowl would be better.
I have liked October restaurant for many years and think their sushi and tame is some of the best in the city. But come on, you have to keep your restaurant clean - the floors and walls are absolutely disgusting and I will not go back!!!!!
By far the best Ramen Ive had. The dan dan Ramen is amazing. The staff is very friendly and service is great. The sushi is really good as well!
Food was delicious, only issue was its a pretty big serving, definitely come with an appetite.
Super delicious and authentic sushi that puts the all you can eat places to shame. Try their takoyaki!
I literally come from across the country for Octobers Dan Dan Ramen. It is the most amazing noodle bowl youll find within easily 750km. Apart from that their sushi is on point, and the service is amazing. I would recommend this place to anybody desiring a what would your last meal be experience
I had never had an issue with gluten before but went to pick up an order today and there was pieces of tempura on my sushi even tho I mentioned gluten free on the phone. I didnt notice until half way through so Im hoping for the best. Also, their portions have become quite small since the last time I went.
FREE fast delivery (with purchase over $35), amazing sushi, and delicious tempura vegetables. What amazing sushi coming out of October authentic Asian cuisine. This was our first sushi experience in Saskatoon, and we are very pleased!
The food was quite good. The black dragon sushi was one of the best bites of sushi Ive had in the city. The chicken karaage was average, not really standing out but also not being off-putting whatsoever. The dan-dan Ramen was a 7/10, also not being offensive in any way, just not bringing anything amazing to the table. The katsu-don was exactly what youd expect. The food was great, and the serving staff was even better, always keeping our glasses full! Would go again for sure!
Weve been coming here for over 20 years. Its our go-to Japanese restaurant for sushi. Never have been disappointed. Owners and staff very friendly and food is always prepared with care and quality ingredients. Highly recommend .
Some of the best Ramen in town
Very disappointed with my latest visit. I don t know if the place is under new ownership or management but I feel the restaurant space inside has been very neglected. It was very dirty everywhere. To start, the bathrooms were grimy: no soap in the dispenser, paper towel dispenser empty, the toilet bowls and floors look like they haven t been cleaned in a long time. The mirrors on the walls in the dining area had so much splatter on them and clearly aren t cleaned regularly. The leather in the booths are completely worn out. I don t know why they would open up a second location and fail to neglect the aesthetics and sanitary conditions of their original one. On top of that, there was a hair in my food. I can only assume the quality of food safety and cleanliness has gone down based on my recent visit, which is a shame because I would frequent this restaurant and recommend it often, especially for their ramen. These small local restaurants need to make an effort to at least keep their establishment clean for a better experience.
Best Japanese restaurant in town. Parking: Lots of parking Food : 5/5 |
The dan dan soup wins everytime!! Thier sushi is also fresh and made to order. Ive been coming for years, and thier food is constantly on point! I fully recommend making your way here.
Food is very good there
My absolute favourite place to eat. They re always friendly, quick, and the food has always been delicious
We order from October about 6 times a year and we have loved it. After this last order however, we will be going elsewhere. We ordered multiple yam dishes (tempura and yam roll) as this is our favourite item. We were not contacted at all about any changes to our order and all of our yam dishes were replaced with what we think was taro .very bland and very disappointing. Also we were not given any dip for the tempura- we had 2 orders. If we had been contacted we would have cancelled our order- would have appreciated knowing they did not have yams instead of pretending to have yams .very strange experience. Avocado in the rolls was also not fresh and we both had stomach aches after.
Great food but why is this place so dirty? From the moment you walk in the stained curtains greet you and it just seems to keep going from there. Doors and knobs all filthy, walls filthy, windows filthy and on and on.
The Dan Dan was a little too salty
Stopped in for lunch with friends. The place was clean we had good, prompt service and overall a very pleasant dining experience. Wheelchair accessibility: I am in a small sports wheelchair and access to the building required assistance. The front door is not electric access, and there is a substantial ramp to maneuver. Bring a friend to help. Once inside, there was lots of room, and I had no trouble getting to our table.
Gotta be the best ramen in town. Try the Dan Dan Ramen! 2024 update: Ramen is still amazing! however the sushi we got still missed the mark. Before it was comparable with sushi raku (its also possible im just comparing it to sushi raku as i feel that they are the best in the city for Sushi). This time however i felt like it was not nearly as good.
Yikes, this is not a sushi or ramen place. Dont call it so. The food is tasteless which clearly means they don t prepare it fresh. Try other sushi places in saskatoon, it will save you money.
Broken rice is very delicious!
Great meal, great prices, great service.
My brother and I always make a point of popping into October whenever I m in town. The service is quick and the food is delicious. This place has one of the tastiest tonkatsu broths I ve had. You can t go wrong with the tonkatsu ramen.
Delicious food and Great service! Definitely recommend as a Date night idea.
Best sushi ive had in a long time. Price is really resonable even thou you pay by order
I ordered the squid and salmon sashimi. It was good. The service was not great but I can over look that since the sashimi was good and a good price. Atmosphere is hectic and cramped. And the lady cleaning tables rolls out a smelly tray on wheels with smelly dishes to collect and clean the tables. It passed me a couple times and made me want to barf from the smells. Menu items had sushi with cheese on it which I ve never seen before but maybe it s special for this restaurant. *Note that I am also from out of town so I am not sure if this is customary here.*
October is consistently great! I always enjoy meals here.
Best ramen you can get in the city. Good sushi and mix of other dishes. Great to go even with a 6+ person group
Takoyakis are halves. Not round.
Favorite Sushi joint in the city. Mhmm : )
My food was cold price where a bit high for what it was.
Food was great, I dine in one time and order delivery 4 times. But I got one time they forgot my soup. So sad .
Definitely one of my go-to restaurants for sushi and ramen - always impressed with the quality and service despite usually being busy
Great food! Weve been here a couple of times already and we keep coming back for their ramen.
I came from Korea and was recommended by my younger brother to eat Dan Dan Ramen. The ramen is very salty... Its not just here that its particularly salty, it seems like all Canadian food is salty wherever you go. The ramen itself is thick but a bit salty.
Best sushi place in town!
Food is different unique, over all good food.
The man waiter was unfriendly when hes serving us. Not profession
They have good food but does not answer phone calls when we try to book a reservation.
Must try!
Always amazing. Sometimes understaffed for how busy they are.
My wife and I went for sushi Monday night around 6:00. October authentic Asian cuisine is always our go to for sushi. The restaurant was very busy barely any open seats. We placed our order immediately (we already knew exactly what we were getting) our dinner arrived within just minutes. Fast and fresh! Best sushi around! Thanks for always impressing us!
Best sushi Ive ever had in Saskatoon. I could not contain my happy dance throughout my meal.
Absolutely love Dan Dan ramen. My go to for ramen noodles. Highly recommend
Good food good service
Hands down!
October is the only place I will go for ramen in the city! I love their Dan Dan ramen so freaking much. It s spicy and flavourful in all the right ways. It s even good if you order take out! Their sushi is also next level but I only ever get a few pieces for an appetizer because the ramen is so filling! Great service and love to see it busy in there.
Really good sushi and options. Only food item I didnt like was the tofu appetizer, which is a cold dish. Fasts service for food, beautiful presentation. Food
Waited 38 min and not once did anyone take our order. Watched as 3 tables had their orders taken. Don t go if you re obviously native looking. Just wanted some sushi for my birthday. Thanks for the wonderful service :/
The most delicious of Saskatoon.
Waited over half an hour for someone to ask if we wanted drinks while other tables around us were served quickly. Do not recommend at all if you re native.
Best ramen in Saskatoon, quick friendly service.
Very good sushi rolls!
Had the Tuna sushi, spicy salmon and dynamite -phenomenal-. Ive been to a lot of restaurants all over the country and the quality of the food was unnatched! Wish this place was in my town!
Good foods with affordable price and kind service. Nice little neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Cant believe I didnt know this place before.
Very nice place to eat authentic Japanese/Asian food, which is very delicious. I always enjoyed my time eating there. The servers and staff were very polite and friendly and it has a really nice atmosphere
Affordable + delicious! Fast friendly service! A favorite for our family of four!
Amazing one the best sushi places in the city.
Great place to grab some Ramen!
Finding a good sushi spot is tough in a landlocked area but October s has plenty of optional dishes if sashimi and sushi is not your thing.
Good Japanese food in the southeast of the city. Prices are really fair and there s lots of variety. Great atmosphere too
Easily the best ramen and in general Asian food Ive ever had. The prices are great and affordable. Definitely the most underrated restaurant in Saskatoon.
My all time favorite sushi place in Saskatoon. The specialty rolls and tempura are so delicious! Their tonkotsu ramen is also really yummy when they have it available.
Tasty and reliable. Not the absolute best ramen Ive ever had, but better than a lot.
Had take out from this place. Looks nice but certainly seems like they need more space for all the costumers (always a waiting line).
Great place. Sushi, Ramen, and karagge is all really good
Best ramen ever
Always excellent food, great prices and staff is super friendly. Tako Wasabi is delicious. Every single role that Ive tried has always been excellent!!! Tempura here is also top notch. Food : 5/5 |
Great Ramen bowls. Awesome sushi. Restaurant is cozy and usually has a spot open. Staff are great.
10/10
October has always been a favourite of mine, the deluxe Dan Dan is a must have, especially when it s cold outside. The sushi and tempura are always perfect as well. You can t go wrong with almost anything on the menu.
Update: Love October Asian, one of my fav places to go, for take out or dine in. Disregard my post from 2 yrs ago! Golden California roll, Tonkutsu Ramen, Tempura, all great!!! Food was ok, my ramen broth was warm, not hot and it did not seem the tables were far apart enough to socially distance. A young man was sitting alone waiting for a friend and a table of 8 was seated beside him...he ended up moving to the other side of his own table to distance himself, felt bad for him. Next time I may order for pick up and ask for broth to be hot, thx.
Good sushi and better Ramen, dont miss the Tonkotsu!!!
Great sushi and food, great atmosphere and service was impeccable. They put up with having 4 loud roofers in the building and treated us right the whole time.
Got the private booth for our work crew after a long day of work. Food was great! Service was just as great! Will definitely return again
Best sushi in Saskatoon. No question. Fresh sushi, creative rolls and I could t believe how fast the food came! Came here for our daughter s 16th birthday - it was great!
Very good!
My 1st visit. Didnt know it existed. 1 person had the eel served over rice. Some octopuses ..octopi?.. in sauce. Looked interesting. I had mango rice rolls. Very tasty! Served tea upon arrival. All asian menu. No pizza. No burgers. It was a great experience. Parking: A regular strip mall parking lot. Building is on the corner so easy access from street
Love here
Foods are delicious and people are so nice
My family has tried many times to look for a better ramen restaurant than October and still hasn t found any. We ve tried other ramen places in Saskatoon, only to be disappointed we end up going back to October at the end of the day. October Authentic Asian Cuisine makes the best ramen, hands down!
Love going here, amazing food and great service!
Amazing customer serivce fantastic food.
Ive been to October two times now and both have been amazing, previously Ive had the place recommended to me by a few different people and heard nothing but good things. The atmosphere is amazing, staff are super approachable and refill both your water and tea when needed. The restaurant is fairly busy, with a steady rotation of people keeping the place looking full, yet not to a point that causes long waits for walk-ins. Despite there being a good amount of people in at any given time, its not loud or abrasive at all. People keep to themselves, youre able to enjoy your meal in peace while also having that feeling of eating with others. So far Ive tried their assorted sashimi, black dragon roll, miso ramen, and beef udon. The food is so good, the portions are large enough with a reasonable price as well. Overall, theyre a great place, both in terms of the restaurant itself, the staff, and the food. Kid-friendliness: Not marketed towards children at all but friendly towards them dining there, an alright place to bring your children but not something you need to worry about if you dont want to be around a bunch of kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp leading up to the door and handicap parking available
Very good sushi, I enjoy it each time I come here.
Food was
It is terrible. The ramen was totally different from menu. The sashimi were frozen and very unfresh. The rad dragon roll s shrimp was not crispy at all, it was soft.
Quick service, good quality sushi!
Yummy
Good soup!!!
It is one of my FAVORITE places for ramen and sushi in Saskatoon. I never am disappointed, always leave extra full and when I leave I cant stop thinking about how I should just come back tomorrow. Thank you for keeping my belly full and smile on my face. Yum! P.s. try the Dan Dan or Tonkotsu Ramen
Ive been here three times already and every meal has been great. Im definitely coming back to try some more
Good Dan Dan ramen, egg was average. I really appreciated that they were able to prepare it mildly spicy as per my request - so delicious! The shredded pork seemed to be more like ground pork to me, but still tasty.
First time at this hidden gem, honestly the best Ramen Ive ever had! Not only is the food amazing, but the service was outstanding. I will definitely be coming back!
I highly recommend this place. It is great for solo, couples or family dinner! Great food, insanely fast service and great prices! They have some gluten free options as well. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
In short...order the DanDan and any of the sushi. Kids love the baby octopus although its an acquired taste. Niche little place and simply awesome. Kid-friendliness: Even though it seems quasi-formal, super kid friendly and kids love it.
My wife and I thought it was absolutely fabulousness. Best asian food in Saskatoon. The ramen was to die for, the sashimi was bang on, miso was full of flavour, etc., etc. Loved it all. We will certainly be returning and will be expanding our horizons. Oh, the price was really decent too. We were both filled for under $30.
I can say the service and asthmatics were okay but the food didnt seem too good, the first time I was here everyrying tasted delicious but today the octopus tasted a few days old the noodles were way under expectation but the miso soup was on point so..... it was alright I guess
Good place to have East Asian cuisine. Food tastes good and authentic.
Great place for Ramen and Japanese food in general. Staff is friendly and kind, the place just gets very busy during certain hours. But who can blame them? Its the place to go for Japanese food, imo.
So delicious. I had the lunch bento box. It was fabulous flavor, lots of food and it was quick. I will be going back to try the Ramen as it looked amazing too.
Very tasty and reasonably priced.
Authentic Japanese cuisine, if you are looking for a ramen full of flavor.
A great sushi place! Good food and fast service! My favorite place for ramen!!
This is a wonderful place to eat.
Good service, food is ok
One of my favourite places for sushi and ramen in the city. Food is always quality and consistent, with my favourite being the SK Roll! Service is warm and friendly. Great little spot for lunch or diner with family or friends. Highly recommend!!
Ramen was banging, pun board was banging, Hawaiian rolls banging, fair price, classic
This is the go to spot in the city for ramen. Service is good and atmosphere is warm. Our usual orders are the Tonkotsu ramen and the miso ramen. If you like smaller portions you can ask for half noodles. Parking: Lots of spaces but busy at supper time.
Just love this place!
I shouldnt have ordered sashimi. It was not fresh at all.
The place was full so we had to wait for a while to be seated. The food was great but not their servings . Their prices was enough for the food portioning they serve, nothing suprising with their service except from the male staff from the counter who sounds not so friendly when he served our food. Generally,Not so authentic for me but the place and the food is okay, restaurant layout is a bit off, i think they maximize the space.
This place is incredible! Their ramen is amazing and the sushi is so fresh and delicious.
Theyre not open for long but its totally worth it. Its probably the best Japanese food Ive had in Saskatoon and I recommend it to anyone who asks. On my last visit, I ordered takoyaki, tempura, rice, miso soup, and a sushi roll. The price is pretty inexpensive compared to most places. Make sure you come when it opens because every time Ive went here it was almost full. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.
We went tonight for supper for my sisters bday Oct 17.. There were 7 of us..3 out 6 soups were very salty. MY Dan Dan Ramen and 2 Miso Ramens. My first time to try it there, very disappointed. Since its my first time there..may I ask why their Ramen looks like chow mein? Is that their regular Ramen? Rookie asking.
I absolutely love the Dan Dan Ramen. All of the food is full of flavor. Quick, friendly service. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city
Always delicious!
Friendly staff and yummy food
Amazing place, great food, wonderful staff. Takeout is as good as dining in.
Easily the best sushi and ramen in town.
Awesome dandan ramen and excellent sushi.
Great service, great ramen!
I went to this restaurant looking for ramen and sushi, so I ordered ramen and spicy salmon rolls. The ramen wasnt very good, it didnt taste like ramen at all. Most of the staff is Chinese, and the ramen tasted like Ma La Tang( a Chinese soup I used to have when I lived in china, which is often one of the cheapest meals you can get there. So this ramen was far from what ramen really is. The rolls werent so good either, the rice was overcooked, and didnt really taste good. The rice in the rolls cant have the texture of overcooked rice. I also tried and ordered takoyaki but after ordering them, they said they were sold out, I said fine and ate my ramen and rolls, but when I tried and pay my bill they were charging me for the takoyaki that they didnt have. My experience overall is a 2/5.
We visited at 6pm on a Tuesday. Was busy but no wait. Service was very efficient and food came quickly. We ordered a number of sushi roles. All were good except for the AB roll. It was too fishy tasting for us. Shrimp tempura was excellent as normal. We have returned many times.
Ordered the red dragon roll and Dan Dan Ramen. It was excellent! Best sushi in the city. Best Asian in the city.
Usually my favourite sushi in town. Recently, we had a large group and were given a room. The food was excellent as always, but the rooms were needing some TLC and the servers didnt check on us much. A bit disappointing, but good sushi otherwise. Chicken karage was disappointing to some, I didnt have it Kid-friendliness: We had a few kids there, there are potstickers and chicken karage (fried chicken) for the picky eaters
October is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Saskatoon! Its affordable, delicious, and has a good variety. I love that they offer tempura don, which is hard to find anywhere else.
By far the best sushi place to go to. I would recommend hiring another server since the place is busy with dine in and deliveries
Quality Japanese Sushi restaurant.
Friendly service, great atmosphere and the food is not only comforting, but also delicious. I will be back again!
Excellent food!
This was absolutely fantastic. The Dan Dan Ramen and Golden California rolls were amazing. Highly recommend!
Im giving it 5 star because the minute we sat down you are being serve right away and it didnt take long to wait for our order. Yes the ramen is really good and my favorite wasabi is so authentic that it is really spicy bcos the other wasabi i tasted in other sushi place is not that spicy The ramen the sushi and the seaweed salad are all really good. The place is very busy so better go there eatly and we did. We will definitely come back.
