224 3 Ave S, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1L9, Canada
Highly rated, Restaurant 224 serves authentic Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai entrées and cuisine to Saskatoon and area. Conveniently located in Downtown Saskatoon. Available for dine-in, pick-up, or delivery. Call for reservations. Vegetarian and vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements can be met on request. We look forward to serving you soon and often!
(Menu number) 39. Chef’s special Beef rice noodle soup 40. 224 special (shrimps, meatballs) rice noodle soup 13. Vietnamese spring rolls (shrimps, pork) And also a 1 person set A, wonton soup medium (which also has the meatballs), and a Vietnamese coffee which is sweet, rich and marvellous. The beef noodle soup is sweet (the staff said they make the beef soup fresh everyday with bones, ox tails and because it has lots of gelatin, they do not put it into the fridge which will become jelly, so they spend hours early before the shop opens to get it ready) and cherubic, the beef is chewy and tastes fantastic. 224 special noodle soup does not have the beef soup base which would be plain compared to the beef noodle soup. It has a plate of sprouts and vegetables for you to add on. The spring rolls are crazily good! We love them. The sauce is sweet and probably with peanuts. The 1 person set with fried rice, sweet and sour pork, barbecued pork (Char Siu), deep fried chicken balls and deep fried shrimp balls. We had the bench / booth seats which are red and very comfortable. When we paid the bill, the staff reminded us that we could have the fortune cookies. One of the slip inside had my birthday numbers in it. It is really a special day. Happy All Saints’ Day!
Some of the worst Chinese food we have had. Portions were very small. The crispy ginger beef wasn’t crispy at all and was sauce was like soup consistency. Was super excited to try it from all the reviews but it was so gross nobody in my family of 5 liked it. Such a waste of $80
Won a gift certificate on Cruz fm so tried Restaurant 224 for the first time. We have been going to the same place for a noodle bowl for years but this place is definitely going to make in into the rotation. The service was really great, the food was delicious, super impressed!
Great experience! Went out for dinner with 5 people in our party without a reservation. They accommodated us and had us sat at an appropriate table right away. The waiter was personable and knowledgeable about the menu, even going so far to suggest what all of the gluten-free repeat customs order. We all had leftovers to take home for a very reasonable price. Food came out quickly, super fresh, and hot! They are opening a new location that will be licensed for alcohol. Unfortunately, they are not licensed at this location at this time. Highlights were definitely the soups (not photod) and the spring rolls. I can't stop saying, "I can't believe how good the food was last night!" Will definitely come back when in town next!
The fried rice was so flavourful. The chicken balls were not doughy, great amount of chicken in the batter. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect. Will definitely visit again.
Came across this little spot in the city center. And glad I made the choice becasue the food is good and woth very good price. Good portion, and tasty. Definatly a good spot for travelers who are looking for local eats with good price. Highly recommand!
Staff are excellent and made me feel right at home. Food is awesome and served very quickly and a very nice portion for a decent price, fed 4 adults For 60$ including the drinks. Overall I recommend 24 restaurant if your looking for good Asian food at a decent price.
We went out for a late supper and gave this place a try. We were all very pleased with the service. The Chinese food was amazing we ordered dinner for 3 B. The food was so good that I ordered chicken fried rice to go so I could have lunch the next day paired with the left overs we brought home. I will definitely be back again the food was very tasty and reasonably priced!
Awesome food! I liked that it was open later hours too.
Best noodle bowls in the city!
Always great and affordable food.
Really good food. Really good service and great atmosphere.
Food tastes great, they are very quick and nicely priced.
We all enjoyed a delicious meal.
Good place, conveniently located in downtown - food is average, pretty economical was busy in Fri afternoon!
Alright if you want the squirts
As I write this I am close to two hours waiting with no food. Ordered from the new location and when I called they said it is still out for delivery. Have a very hungry child and am not impressed.
Placed an order through their website for delivery which was very use to use, food came hot and way ahead of there projected time. Delivery driver was friendly and food was great and great price!
My wife and I had a great time at restraunt 224. The options are endless and you are sure to be able to find something you will like to eat on the menu. Best of all was the amazing energy of our hostess/server. Amazing service and great food in an easily accesible location. We had enough leftovers for lunch too.
Thiens but better, driver was here in 30 minutes dude made my day I dont think Ive ever met someone this happy on the clock, that delivery dude is a boss and an inspiration to joy
Love it here.
Incredibly mid
So good, the bowl I had was very tasty, I would def go back Vegetarian options: Not vegetarian myself but the options are there Dietary restrictions: Available Kid-friendliness: Children are allowed Wheelchair accessibility: Yup
Very good service and very good food
I love it so much and it s open late. It s the perfect spot to get a late night meal. The owners are super nice and the service is impeccable. I would recommend everyone I know to go here because of how much I love it.
Delicious foods and good services
D f shrimp good!Egg roll too The special was Vermicelli Noodle bowl with beef, chicken or pork& 2 spring rolls for 7.95..I had the beef..I ate about a 1/3 after my shrimp& egg roll.. The noodle bowl got eaten up the next 2 lunches..Great deal for $20 total .
Friendly owner and quick good food.
Good food. I always order from here. However, I d expect utensils or at least napkins in the bag when ordering takeout.
One of my go to restaurants for a delicious noodle bowl. Have returned many times and tried various menu items and never leave disappointed, great bang for your buck too!
My name is keelin not Kaitlyn. Pretty good food tho
Excellent service and tasty meal at great value!
Portion size reduced by almost half in the last few weeks. We know things get more expensive these days and it s not easy for this restaurant to increase price. But will visit less as one order of rice noodle soup couldn t feed my 10 yrs old full anymore.
Food was extremely delicious! Friendly staff and was surprised how quick our food came :)
This is a place that deserves more praise than it gets! Food is great! Prices are amazing! Service is personal and friendly! It is cozy and comfortable. Always a great go to when youre craving asian food! Their chicken balls will haunt your dreams!!!
Ordered a dinner for 3 from Restaurant 224 and honestly a place that s highly rated and recommended, you think would of had some good take out but today that was not the case, my mixed chicken vegetables barely had any chicken, my sweet and sour ribs were mostly like onion and carrots barely any ribs, the chicken fried rice was a bit stale .. only thing that was good was the spring rolls (although they were small and skinny) and I will admit the wonton soup was good . Ordered online got a discount free delivery over $35 and it arrived within 45 mins .. which is good but food quality and portions were just so small and the main dishes were a disappointment.. I don t know if it was an off day but I hope they can do better for the next customers because I don t think I ll order from there again tbh! *sorry I didn t really take any pictures* besides what I ordered on receipt I m thinking I should call and complain but not sure how they deal with complaints..
The menu is too complicated.
The Best Chow Mein I ve ever had in the city! Very accommodating staffs too! I highly recommend this place. <3
Some of the most budget friendly meals for tasty food, and the staff is welcoming.
Amazing flavours. Fair pricing.
Garbage food.. very tiny shrimp which is smaller than nail.. so much burnt in the meat.. smelly.. will never go again!!
They have really good springrolls & the waiter was very nice definitely recommend to my friends & family
Always delicious, I have never been disappointed.
Great selection and a fan of their noodle bowls.
Amazing food! Good vibes and smily staff ! We were invited by our friends to celebrate their wedding ! Food was so delicious ! Make sure to try Vietnamese Ice coffee! Ill Definitely come back! Food
Ordered crispy ginger beef, vegetable shrimp rolls and mixed veg with shrimp. If you are looking for Calgary style ginger beef this aint it! Stewing meat sized beef that was very chewy and not at all crisp. Veg shrimp rolls were 50% noodles (see image) The shrimp in mixed veg dish were small and not abundant....although flavour was good. I wont be back.
My friends and I visited restaurant 224 for dinner, we had an incredible time!! The food was fast but yet tasted wonderful, and the servers were very friendly. Were planning to come back soon, cant wait!!
Long Nguyen is the best server here.
good food and drinks, very tasty
Great food
Never a disappointment. Best Vietnamese in the city. Been coming here many years. A+A+A+
Love love love LOVE this place. Best noodle bowl for the value. Same price as Thien but you actually get a choice of protein rather than what they give you. Highly recommend for a quick, cheap, hearty, filling lunch
Delicious food and good service.
What a wonderful and authentic place, service and food flavors.
Very tasty food, just as i remember ...
Fast friendly service, very reasonable prices!
Good food
The food was deliciously amazing!! I can honestly say this is thee best Vietnamese food ever. We had sautéed sizzling platter, wonton soup & noodle bowl. I am in heaven lol
Mixed Feelings at Restaurant 224 - A Gem for Some, A Miss for Others Review: During a recent visit to Restaurant 224 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, my expectations were tinged with excitement, largely due to the establishments glowing Google reviews and the eager recommendations from the younger members of our group. Our party of eight, spanning generations from the 20s to the 84s, anticipated a dining experience that would cater to our diverse tastes and expectations. The majority of our group, six to be exact, left satisfied, praising the meal with no reservations. Their satisfaction speaks volumes of the restaurants ability to deliver enjoyable dishes to a wide range of palates. The affordability of Restaurant 224 is undoubtedly its crowning glory. The ability to serve a hearty and fulfilling meal for eight under $100 is nothing short of remarkable in todays dining scene, a factor that understandably makes it a hit, especially among the younger crowd who had frequented the establishment on numerous occasions. However, dining experiences are multifaceted, and ambiance plays a crucial role in the overall impression. Unfortunately, for two of us seated near the kitchen, the experience was marred by an uncomfortable soundtrack of continuous sneezing and other unappetizing sounds emanating from the kitchen. This not only dampened our spirits but also raised concerns about hygiene practices within the establishment, a critical factor for any dining experience but more so in these times. As someone who values cleanliness and consistency in dining establishments, my experience at Restaurant 224 fell short of expectations. Despite the restaurants commendable consistency in food quality, as reported by my companions, nothing on our table struck me as exceptional or memorable, aside from the price point. In conclusion, Restaurant 224 presents a paradox of sorts. It stands as a testament to affordability in dining without significant compromise on food quality, making it a potentially great choice for those less perturbed by the nuances of dining ambiance and kitchen hygiene. However, for patrons like myself, who place a premium on cleanliness and an all-encompassing dining experience, it may not hit the mark. My rating of 3 out of 5 reflects this dichotomy a place of great value yet room for improvement in ensuring a uniformly enjoyable experience for all patrons.
They delivered through a storm, 5 stars for sure.
We told them absolutely no onions, not even green onions, and they still put green onions in, except they tried hiding it under the noodles with the lettuce and bean sprouts. Its beyond disrespectful! There are medical reasons people avoid onions other than allergies, nobody should have to divulge medical conditions to be taken seriously when it comes to this. Dietary restrictions: They DO NOT take this seriously
Just ok , at least for me this time. Disappointed in the salad rolls - thought they would have veggies throughout? Dinner for one was better. Usually I d do a noodle bowl- might try that if I go here again. I wouldn t recommend walking on Saskatoon city streets during the winter very icy and snow piled. I ll give this new to me restaurant another try, maybe late spring! Parking: hard to find in the city downtown centre anytime- harder for lunch- winter parking is mostly terrible in Saskatoon. Wheelchair accessibility: not in the winter in my opinion,
Best Vietnamese in Saskatoon hands down. Even down to their peanut sauce. Most restaurants it s watered down and not good. Every time I get food from 224 I am always happy and the service is speedy.
Ordered take-out after an appointment and was still offered a seat and was asked if I needed a water while I waited. Above & beyond service is always sooo appreciated!
I was disappointed with my beef noodle bowl, sprouts were not fresh at all, also ordered a hamburger, the meat was tough and burnt. I don t know how the rest of the menu is. Will not be going back.
10/10 food. Every single time.
Great service however the portion size is quite small for us. We ordered the noodle bowl and wish we had more meat and noodles. It was tasty though and would come again, but would not be my regular go to spot for noodle bowls. On the upside, they are open late in the evening after a night of partying.
Great food, good quantity and quality.
Horrible place. Dont order her. If you like to throw money away order. If you work hard for your money dont order.!!!!!
Foods average dont go here if you like to mix your own sauce for noodle bowls they do it for you and obviously are confused or just dont understand
One of my favourite restaurants to visit when I am in Saskatoon.
Most amazing hardworking, friendly owners! The quality of food is consistent and amazing. The price you can t beat in the city. The spring rolls are the best! Wonto.n soup, Satay soup, Shanghai noodle & Singapore noodles are some of our favourites.
Amazing food
Only downside I can think of is our cities terrible downtown parking lol. Love 224. Its were I learned to use chop sticks
Got some really good beef with mixed vegetables and rice plus added chicken for less than 13 dollars taxes in. Worth the money, its definitely good quality for the price and convenience. Id go again. The meat is really good, and none of the vegetables are old/gross, super happy with what I got. I found exactly what I wanted, healthy meat, vegetables, and rice that tastes good. simple, nothing fancy.
Very good food and didn t wait long for food
I ordered from Restaurant 224 tonight at around 7:40 pm and the Food Booking app said about 45 minutes. At 8:05 the 4 person combo arrived, piping hot, and very fresh. Delicious meal and very fast service! Will definitely keep ordering from this hidden jewel!
Ordered delivery; they messed up on an item but were quick to redeliver the proper item.. The food is amazing here and is our new go to! Great prices as well!! Highly suggest!
Always the best!
Probablt my new fave Vietnamese spot in stoon, would definitely suggest ordering takeout on their website.
My favourite place in town for Shanghai noodles.
The food comes out piping hot, the service is always fast. Meals come out quick. I would recommend to anyone.
Very good food here never dissapoints
Great food great service. My new go to for sure.
Very good food and really good prices.
Delicious. Daily special, Stir fry chicken and 2 spring rolls on vermicelli noodles. Im hooked.
Super delicious food. I usually cant pick what to order and end up with lunches for the week. Delivery was much quicker than their estimate which was a nice surprise. Vegetarian options: Havent tried them personally, but they do offer them. Kid-friendliness: Has typical American food as well for pickier eaters.
The food is decent however the dine in serves was terrible if you want service this is NOT the place to go there are much better places to go in Saskatoon
Spring rolls taste salty today.
Delicious Vietnamese food that hit every craving
Always good and reasonably priced. Vegetarian options: There are many dishes available. Dietary restrictions: Let them know before ordering. The staff and kitchen are very accommodating. Parking: Parking can be challenging at times. Kid-friendliness: Its a family friendly atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: No complaints from people I that have mobility issues.
The owner have some anger issues seems like and he needs to go for a vacation or maybe a good therapy
Love this Place .
We loved Restaurant224s foods and kindness. But except one New server. She served dishes without information. She just left dishes like throwing a plate. Looks like angry attitude Even We just said thank you when she gave us a menu. I have never been treated like this in this restaurant before. Recommended dishes Vietnamese Rolls, Special Beef Noodle Soup, Noodle Bowl, Beef Rice Noodle Soup, Chicken Wings
13 of us went for supper & had no complaints! Good food
This is a great small little restaurant. Filledwith with some great food forthe cheap eats. Hot to the table food. You might not get everything at the same time but its hot and tasty.
I think Chinese food is getting too expensive! The food here is tasty, good flavor. We ordered two noodle dishes, and very little meat and vegetable. $9 each! Also on both orders we requested the same level of hot. One dish is fine, the other dish is extremely hot, there is no way to enjoy it. When I called back, the answer was, everybody likes different kind of hot. I replied by saying, would not the same level of hot be in both dishes when they are ordered at the same time? You have one cook making the noodle dishes. The reason/excuses that are given by the restaurant are tolerated by customers and yet you are giving me the wrong reason. I have measuring devices here at home, may I suggest that in order to have some unison in your orders, buy some. Parking: Street parking only, good luck!
Awesome
Delicious dishes!
Excellent food Highly recommend Great value Food : 5/5
Get service. Food was tasty
Good value noodle bowls for a quick meal!
Best place to eat and the best combos Food is always hot and fresh. Thank you 224
Im speechless (mouth agape), as my mouth is full of another delicious Noodle Bowl, lovingly prepared by Restaurant 224!
I ordered through their website, really easy-to-use, but I would like a few more photos to guide me. The order was ready when I got there and smelt so delicious I could hardly wait to get it home. Once home, I was impressed with the noodle bowl I ordered, very fresh and perfectly cooked. I also ordered the deep-fried wonton and ample amount and prepared beautifully. They were not greasy, just like the Vietnamese rolls one the noodle bowl.
One of Saskatoons hidden gems. Been a customer for over 15 yrs. Love the people, the food, the service.
The food is always fresh and delicious!
My #1 go to place for Thai style Ginger stir fry!!!!! I ve been searching all over Saskatoon for the Thai style ginger stir fry and finally tried Restaurant 224 . Needless to say I will only be ordering it from here!
Tom Yum Soup is amazing! dont miss out on that, the vermicelli bowls are too! I work downtown and come here for lunch, its fast, convenient, affordable, no other Asian restaurant downtown can compare for prices for sure and great service.
Small small portions ...dinner for me and my 2 kids was 32 dollars....not worth it...repeated missing items to 2 workers and one fully ignored our many attempts to gain her attention
Parking: Food great and good fav is 37 Food
Bought chicken fried rice, fresh rolls and deep fried shrimp and it was $22.. cheapest but super good food... well go back.
Best noodles in town.
Argued with me and told you dont get cutlery after 1pm unless you request it (Rice isnt hand food) and sauce with meal is no guarantee. Unless also requested. Largely inconsistent and you can not order extra spicy food ever. So why care? Ive found better vietnamese elsewhere but would not recommend as nothing matters to the boss here. Gross and negligent unless its what you see from the front. Theres bugs too as per that other review. Horrible parking. Find another place, honestly.
Came here for dinner during the last day of my recent short trip to Saskatoon. I ordered a pho and for some reason, it took half an hour to arrive. However, the server was nice and apologetic, and he seemed like a hardworking lad. The phos portion didnt seem big initially, but it actually had a very good amount of meat, and I was quite full in the end. However, the pho didnt come with basil or mint, and normal (yellow) lemon was given instead of lime. Otherwise, I was happy with the pho.
Ordered take away, all of the food was good.
Very good food and staff!
Went in here for my first meal in Saskatoon. After a long day of flying and being awake for over 15 hours at that time, the restaurant was my first stop before exploring the city. Thr atmosphere inside is quite nice, a lot more spacious than it appears form the outside looking in. The gentleman who sat me down was very helpful and had great attitude, recommending dishes whilst chatting a bit too. He was very much on top of his duty and checked in with all the tables consistently to provide water and services. The food was quite nice, nothing over the top but very delicious, and the selection combining Vietnamese with other East Asian dishes meant you have lots of options to select from. Id definetly recommend visiting this place as the service, speed of food, and taste all but makes for a nice experience. Also, the prices are pretty cheap compared to Toronto, so even though there may be less Asian culture in Saskatoon, the food was also a lot cheaper than the hundreds if not thousands of restaurants in Toronto lol. Vegetarian options: I think there are some Parking: Downtown location, probably park on the side street but not very crowded at all
The noodle bowl so fresh and the cold rolls and spring rolls so good
I am a regular of this place. I spend just over $6 here and am full through to the next day if its supper. Oh, and I am referring specifically to the Daily Special Noodle Bowl, I know I should be more adventurous, but I cant help getting a mad craving for a noodle bowl all the time. Parking: So, its downtown so of course parking is paid, ofc not on weekends. Anyways, that outta the way, if you dont find a spot out front on the street, theres a public parking lot around the corner. So, if youre going around a busy time, be prepared to walk a bit
To be honest this was our first time at 224. And we did takeout, and our selections might not have been the best options for takeout. I think if you elect to eat in, you will be happier, at least until you have an idea of what is what. Plus we asked for less spicy which turned out to be not spicy in the least. Where we come spicy means SPICY. In conclusion, I think my experience is not representative of somebody who knows what is what at 224. My next visit will be in store dining. Based on what we saw in store, I expect that will be an excellent ti.e.
coming from a foodie city like vancouver, this place is legit! very tasty pho, good soup and good quality beef as well. would definitely eat here again. wouldve been better if the portions were slightly bigger and if they had basil for the pho.
Very unfriendly staff. Food inferior. Stay away.
Best and affordable Viet/Southeast Asian restaurant so far.
food good but at 10pm little children should not be busing tables and taking orderd
I went here for the first time with my family and we ordered different types of noddles including veg chow mein dried noodles and fried rice, they all were unexpectedly delicious. This restaurant has amazing food no doubt with pretty reasonable rates. Must go to this restaurant if you are in Saskatoon. We met owner of the restaurant what a amazing guy! I wish they were near my place. I simply love this restaurant. Thank yiu! Vegetarian options: Amazing noodles the sauce in noodles was incredibly delicious.
5 star !! Dumplings 5star
Fresh ingredients every time. Great price for a lot of food. Best in the city!
The spicy soup at spicy garden was simply amazing! Me and my girlfriend had the soups and It had the perfect balance of spice and flavor, and each spoonful was a delight. The presentation was lovely, and we cant wait to go back for more. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious the service was the best and its such a clean restaurant
The best won ton soup in saskatoon. Large portions for the price. Parking: Parking is always a bit iffy downtown. But its worth it. Food : 5/5 |
place is a hit or miss. sometimes the food is good but sometimes it s not. you might find hair, you might not.
Our first time ordering from Restaurant 224 and everything arrived hot and delicious! Order was easy to place online and our food arrived on time. Large portions. Delivery driver was really friendly as well. We will definitely be ordering again!
Absolutely AMAZING, from the soft instrumental covers of famous songs playing to the sizzling ginger beef, freshest and juiciest meal ive had in ages and a total reccomend everyone to checl this place out Wheelchair accessibility: disability friendly, thr bathrooms will fit a wheelchair in, easy to get into with a cane
I absolutely love this place for takeout. It is very well priced and the portion sizes are great!
Staff is always welcoming and the food is always top tier. Highly recommend to any locals looking for a quick bite. Keep up the good work
The restaurant is very clean and modern, and centrally located. I had ducked in for a quick lunch while in town, however I wasnt a fan of the menu... for a Vietnamese restaurant it was disappointing not to see pho available. I ordered a dish called har gow soup (like the dimsum) which intrigued me, but it just ended up being wonton soup. It was very healthfully prepared though with lots of vegetables, and tasted okay. Prices are reasonable. Overall I am not sure Id eat here again, but my experience wasnt unpleasant. It did get crowded quickly so seems like a popular spot.
The food is good, price is reasonable. The place is clean My food came late but no biggie
Great food and friendly staff.
i always pop by to grab a vietnamese iced coffee and it s always soo good!!
Very clean restaurant and great food however service is poor. Couldnt get me coffee refill and just felt ignored.
We sat and waited a long time to be served even though the place was not busy. It was a simple mistake though they thought we had already ordered. The food was amazing though and a really good price!
Very fresh, can t beat that daily special.
Tasty and filling dishes for good price.
Yummy food, good price, good value, great and fast service and great hours makes it convenient.
I loved their food. Fast service. Nice atmostphere :)
Just go check it out ok!
Very small quaint family restaurant in Saskatoon. It is such a hidden gem. The prices are very affordable, the portions are large, and the food is always delicious. The best Vietnamese food Ive ever had. 10/10 would recommend this place.
Fantastic food and great value. Dining room could use a good cleaning though.
Everything is amazing!!! I got crispy ginger beef, special fried rice, grilled beef and pork vermicellis They are not too sweet or salty and decent price as well!!!! Strongly recommend
Food are great, the staffs are under train missing a lot of utensils and items on the service. Overall it ok
Nice clean and friendly place. Very welcoming atmosphere brings patrons back time and again. Ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and it was not a grilled cheese sandwich toast and processed cheese and was soggy and cold. Maybe just stick to the Vietnamese menu
Great food and quick service, even late at night!
Great food, friendly service.
This was the first time I ordered online from 224. I ordered a Deluxe Wonton Soup to my house and when I received it all of the broth was spilled out in the bottom of the bag. I did eat the contents without any broth and it was tasty. But I definitely would not order delivery if this is the state it gets delivered In.
Great food and service
Delicious and fresh. I wish the ginger chicken had a thicker sauce that stuck to the meat better, but that s just personal preference. Great service. I will be ordering again.
Food is very bland and unappetizing, portions are tiny. I usually dont give bad reviews, but this was quite bad. Would not go here again. Spingrolls were pretty good tho
If you want quality food and expect great visual presentation highly recommend this place compare to the place down the street. Price is reasonable and people that work there are very polite. Also very fast service. Also please expect give them time if you order take as they probably deal with volume of customer at times
Delicious and cheap (and they don t skimp on the meat)! Chicken balls, salad rolls, stir-fried rice noodles are all amazing.
Large portions, tasty and cozy.
Delicious food, large portions, cheap price. Ill definitely eat here again! Excellent and friendly service, and lots of regulars that the staff knew by sight, so that tells you its consistent too! Update: Washrooms very clean and modern. Big privacy stalls and wheelchair accessible.
This restaurant offers cheap and filling food. Lots of quantity for the price you pay so definitely a bang for your buck but the taste of the dishes are just about mid. Butter fried Chicken wings - 7/10 crispy although after the fourth bite it just starts to taste very oily and super fatty Wonton soup - 6/10 not bad just okay the wontons were eh though Sizzling Crispy ginger beef - 5/10 not crispy, more wet and soggy. The veggies were crunchy! Chef s fried rice - 7.5/10 taste like any Chinese restaurants chefs fried rice! Lots of bbq pork, chicken and shrimp on the dish Overall, if you want a restaurant that give you a bang for your buck and not really care to much about the taste at all then try this one!
Good food but small portions
Great food!
Friendly staff. Wonderful fresh food and will be back
I wanted a noodle bowl and all other places were closed. I hate going downtown because of the drug addicts and lunatics roaming around. I was able to park very close in a well lit area. I only encountered one weirdo and he blew me a kiss. The restaurant is super clean, comfortable and food was excellent. Big portion, great price, very satisfying. Changed my view of the area, honestly. Ill definitely be back soon, thoroughly impressed. Some nights I lay awake, almost able to taste the moist grilled chicken, the soft but crispy spring rolls and perfectly cooked noodles. If drowning it in fish sauce is wrong, I dont want to be right. A piece of my heart will always belong to Restaurant 224.
Awesome place been coming here for 14+ years great price great food.
Myself, my family, and my colleagues all love 224! We find ourselves often craving 224, and its always a treat. Their menu offers a large variety of delicious Vietnamese favorites. I love their daily special, spring rolls, and deluxe wonton soup, in particular. Every order has always arrived perfect and carefully packed. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and made with quality ingredients. The portions are quite generous for the value, as well. I have never had a disappointing experience, and the restaurant staff are wonderful. I wish I could upload pictures, but I cant make myself wait long enough to take a pic before digging in.
went for lunch.ordered the dinner for 2,wonton soup, pork and veggies,2 spring rolls, chicken fried rice.also ordered a side of hot and sour soup. .both soups were very flavorful and the right amount of heat to the hot and sour. wontons were crispy and hot and delicious. pork was tender and lots of veggies.staff very friendly and covid protocols in place.vey nice renovations done.prices were good and they are open friday and saturdays until 3 am. great place for good food. its nice to support local restaruants
Found a twist tie in my noodle bowl
Good food at a really decent price.
