Ordered vermicelli and spring rolls from here. Delivery by Uber eats. Food was pretty good.
The cleanest kitchen I've ever seen, great food and polite staff.
Saigon did have three different locations, now down to the one. I understand why! I like to support local but the quality of food is disgusting. Coconut chicken used to be their go to- it was disgusting. Stringy leftover meat. I don’t recommend this place at all anymore.
Ordered the combo vermicelli rice bowl to go and I must say it delicious, the noodles were hot, it came with 4 different kinds of meat, the spring rolls were hot and crispy, and also came with a fresh roll on the side, which were also delicious, may have found my new vermicelli rice bowl go to in Saskatoon, the lady who took our oder was friendly, answered our questions and had a beautiful smile, sure glad we chose this place to try, we will definitely be coming back, thank you for the delicious food
Ordered take out from Uber eats and was surprised how quick it was. Food was fresh and really good taste. Definitely will order again
Ordered the stir-fry beef noodle bowl (add vegetables), honey garlic ribs and the deep fried Vietnamese spring rolls. I recommend the noodle bowl dish and the spring rolls but I was not a fan of the honey garlic ribs.
I have been going here for almost 40 years (starting back at their original location) and every time I'm back in town I stop here, It's still the best spring rolls I've ever had, It brings back a lot of great memories and the rest of the food is great as well! But seriously try the spring rolls of you haven't, most Vietnamese restaurants use egg roll wrapper but I believe Saigon Rose use rice paper wrapper, so crispy and flavorful!
A tasty Vietnamese stop, Saigon Rose has a unique menu featuring a wide range of Vietnamese eats. The interior is simple but nice, definitely better for casual or impromptu meals than fancy events. A good option for those in Saskatoon looking for Vietnamese.
This place is awesome. My definite go to in Saskatoon. Always good quality, great options and the staff are awesome and friendly. Can t say enough good things about this place.
The fried rice is not good , not cooked properly and I don t recommend their spring rolls or chicken. I couldn t eat.
Yummy good
Excellent food, service, amazing owners, such friendly staff, definitely 10 out of 10
Tremendous vermicelli bowl and shrimp salad rolls, plus great service!
Best curried chicken rice noodle soup on earth! If I could give it 6 stars I would!
bread rolls so good Food
Excellent food every time. This is the best vietnamese food in town. The spring rolls are always delicious and the noodle bowls never disappoint. The stew beef noodle soup is great as well. Good fast service. The decor has been updated and looks good. A bit cold in there in the winter but the food makes up for it.
They make the best soups ever!! We loved everything that we ordered. The staff is wonderful too!! Vegetarian options: They have a decent menu for vegetarians
Ordered Chicken satay and vegetables...no sprouts, onions, or peanuts! Guess I should have been more precise. Hardly any sauce and chicken after I removed all the bokchoy and broccoli. Sad customer!!!
Based on the reviews here I ordered a big 100.00 take out of various things and the food was awful.Greasy vietnamese rolls, lemon chicken was inediable, one bite and it tasted funky like it had gone bad.chow meins, stir fry, all really bad like they were off.Even the fried rice.We had all this food we didnt even eat, we are going to freeze it and mix it in with our dogs food every once in awhile so it wont be a complete waste of money.
Always great here. The best cold rolls and bun
Ive been enjoying this place for decades, starting at the original location. It helped open my eyes to how wonderful and varied food could be and expanded my palette, my life is very different from when I first ate here as a fourth grader. I absolutely love and adore this place, and come back here whenever I get the chance as I have moved away now. I have such fantastic memories of this place, and I miss being able to eat here frequently. This restaurant changed my life, and I cant think of any other for which this is true.
Was quick and delicious
great noodle brown
Lovely people serving wonderfully priced, delicious food! Dietary restrictions: Gluten sensitive options for some menu itens Food : 5/5 |
The food was substandard and misleading. The crispy ginger beef was the soggiest I have ever had with thin sauce. The vegetable chow mien lacked any colour and taste. The sweet and sour chicken was edible but the sauce again was watery and had limited taste. The problem with the thin sauces is it permeates the batter and makes it soft. The quality of the beef in the ginger beef was also substandard.
We had a craving for a couple of items, but we were left very disappointed in the food. What a let down. SO inconsistent. Both items were thrown away after the first bites.
What happened? I attended University of Saskatchewan in the early 90s and one of the go-to places for great asian food was The Saigon. Business brought me to Saskatoon recently and I decided to visit this once great restaurant. I ordered the Saigon bread rolls (which i remembered as being delicious), spring rolls, and the curried chicken, and a pot of tea. After what seemed to be a long wait, the food arrived. The spring rolls were relatively good although slightly overdone. Then i started on the curry chicken which was more of a soup than anything. The chicken was dry and sparse and the broth flavorless. In retrospect, I wonder is she misheard me because when she dropped it off at the table she said here is your soup.Needless to say I did not eat it. I then started on the bread rolls which appeared to be burned in rancid cooking oil. They were inedible. At this point i requested a take out container and my bill. After leaving, I immediately disposed of it a in garbage can just outside of the restaurant. The server also completely forgot my tea. In summary, this place has become disgusting! Save your money and time and explore the many other options out there!
Very good.
We order take out from Saigon regularly. We love the staff they are always so friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing, and at a reasonable price. One of Saskatoons hidden gems.
Saigon Rose was a staple when I went to the University in Saskatoon. I m loving their new menu design since I was there last. We had the shrimp salad rolls with peanut sauce and the ginger beef with rice. It was really delicious and surprisingly filling. Definitely the top Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon.
Havent had siagon rose for many years. It was always the family favorite for supper growing up. Went for lunch with my mom and had the daily special, charbroiled pork and spring roll noodle bowl. It was so big and flavorful with fresh veggies and a ton of noodles. The chili oil was amazing and incredibly flavorful, I wanted to bring it home with me!!! Also, the Vietnamese coffee was probably one of the best Vietnamese coffees Ive ever had.
Great food, quick friendly lunch service. Highly recommended!
Had the beef pho, with salad rolls of shrimp and pork. This was a great choice for the afternoon. Awesome.
Incredible and authentic food! This family owned and run restaurant is a hidden gem that is not to be missed!!
Have been ordering from here lately, food has been really tasty. Another excellent choice in Saskatoon for Vietnamese.
Always great food!
Best fresh rolls in the city.
Great fast service.
Coming here was always a treat as a child over 20 years ago. I had it again for the first time since and its still as good as I remember. Their butter fried garlic wings are some of the best wings in the city!
I placed an order through Doordash, the dasher was nice, the only complain is, there are no utensils with my order! how am I going to eat my Pho? with my bare hands? Im at work and there are no utensils available where i work.
Nicest people and great food!
Best spring rolls ever holy s. Vietnamese style spicy beef and pork soup was off the chain, too. Don t be deceived by the slightly divey appearance. This place is the real d.
Meals were prepared in 15 minutes. Awesome Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Simply put, its the best of everything. Scrumptious and fresh spring and steamed rolls, exquisite noodle bowls, savory soups and dozens of exemplary main dishes to make your pallet crave for more flavor. If youre not eating here youre missing the best in town.
Delicious food and Rose is really sweet!
Theyre closed for renovations right now
Best cold rolls and soups in the city! Cant wait for it to come back!!
Im so sad Saigon Rose is temporarily closed. I like to send it to my parents every now and again. I hope it opens soon. I love the shrimp and chicken salad, the charbroiled chicken vermicelli and the satay chicken. The prices are reasonable. Whenever I visit Saskatoon, Saigon Rose is a must do.
I am so happy to eat at Siagon Rose, YES it is Open again!! You have to try the spring rolls and dry ribs for a nice light lunch. Delicious!! My new lunch time treat.
Very bland.
Best place to eat in Stoon
Really miss this place. I am in Thailand now and have to say this was one of my favourite restaurants back at home. If Rose is back, even better. Such a kind woman.
Most kind customer service and amazing food
Good food.
Their noodle bowls are so tastey and inexpensive.
Amazing
So Delicious!
Food is good. Staff is nice. Good options for us vegans. I got a brutally bad stomach after lunch though.
Weve been eating at Saigon Rose for over 20 years. The vermicelli bowls are excellent and they have the best satay shrimp noodle soup in town. We occasionally go to other Vietnamese restaurant for particular dishes, but Saigon Rose remains our favourite that we always go back to.
Ordered here for the first time from a delivery service. Im super picky, which makes it hard to eat anywhere, so I was super impressed with the first bite. Fresh rolls, beef and broccoli were amazing. Definitely going to order from here again!
Friendly, quick service.
Second time i have ordered rolls and soup from there, and the second time i have found hair in it! Even the one roll had a animal hair on it, or some sort of fuzz!?!? Never ordering again!
Good food.
One of the best restaurants in the city!
Super good food at a great price, also very fast. I would stop just to see the decor though!
The food is always good, and reasonably priced (especially at lunch time).
I was eating a spring roll and while chewing i bit something hard. Upon review there was 2 small rocks, like pebbles in the roll. I almost broke my tooth. I do have pictures. I called them and they tried saying it was probably bone but it wasnt bone.
The stew beef pho is the best I have found in the city yet. Friendly people. They need to open Sunday.
Great food
Amazing noodle bowls
I have been away from Stoon for almost 30 years and wanted to visit one of my favorite VN restaurant. The food was just as good as I had remembered. Best traditional VN spring rolls Ive ever had...and Ive been to many VN restaurant. Try the butter fried chicken wings as they are soooooo yummy. The stew beef soup is delicious and authentic...Id say even better than my moms recipe.
Dont be fooled by the old fashioned decor. The food here is fantastic! We had the VN spring rolls and they were authentic and delicious. The wonton with egg noodles soup was perfect. Thumbs up!
The best Vietnamese/Chinese food in Saskatoon.
Best Won Ton soup in town.
Great food, variety and service!
Small portions , cheap on the meat, owners son Is rude, over rated! Doesnt deserve one star.
Consistently delicious and good service!
Great service and excellent food.
Very tasty
Always had great fresh, hot delivery! Prices were comparable. A great choice for dinner!!
Wonderful, I just love this place. Great food, you can never go wrong with a noodle! The original Saigon chilly oil, spring rolls, salad rolls, vietnamese iced coffee. There are so many dishes to share with friends and family.. if youve been, you must go. If its been awhile, you know what your missing, treat yourself and do lunch..
This is the original Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon owned and run by Rose. Dont be put off by the decor. Dont be put off if you tried it between 2006 and 2016 as Rose had rented it out. Rose is back and with her the best authentic Vietnamese food anywhere! Had lunch there today with some of my family. Roses smile and the food are brilliant.
Food is excellent, service is ok.
I smelt some delicious food while I was biking by. I went here for lunch and it was pretty good.
Saigon Rose has superb food!! My family and I have been going here for years so the staff know us and treat us well. All the food tastes fantastic. We usually get several different dishes and then share all of it. My fiancé tried his own noodle bowl when we went there and he loved it.
Great tasting, super fast, great prices, friendly service....great meal all around.
The best restaurant in all of Saskatoon. Not hipster bs like 90% of the places to eat in this town. The food is amazing, exotic, and tantalizing. Prices are far too low. Eat here.
Great food, poorly decorated restaurant
The food was excellent, as usual. The interior is a little dated, but its nice and quiet so we dont mind. The best fried rice and peanut chicken in town!
Favourite Asian restaurant in Saskatoon, hands down, and they are gluten friendly!
Very good service and tasty food.
yummy food
I have come here for 35 years. Always the best.
Good food and good value.
Very delicious! Ive never had a bad experience with Saigon Rose. Food is fantastic. Keeps me coming back!
Very good food, for a very good price! You will not be disappointed!
Favorite spot. Vermicelli rice bowls.. salad rolls.. spring rolls! Friendly and fast.
Was great to be back, the hidden gem of Saskatoon!
The best Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon by far!
Excellent food
Lovely people. Average food, Really sticky dirty floors.
Love It!!
Food and good. Price was right. Easy to find parking at lunch
Excellent food at great price. You wont leave hungry. Walk across mall parking lot for deals. The amount of food you get would cost 15-20+ at mall food court. Get a noodle bowl only six bucks.
Good food, great service, what more can one ask for.
Great food and customer service.
Lemongrass chicken ! Daam ! Thai soup ! Best thing you can try !!
Great
This place is not what it used to be! Im fairly certain there are new owners (I didnt seen the usual crew), and to be honest, I just dont think their food compares.... Its too bad, because their food used to be awesome! Its now become very average, and Im not likely to order again. Also, it smelt funky in there now.
The bomb!!
Loved the service there because it has a environment that is friendly, the food served is always hot, theres a 10 - 15 minute wait which is good. Usually theres more of a wait in other restaurants. I recommend this place to anyone who loves Chinese food. This restaurant is one of the best in Saskatoon.
Soooo Good!! Definitely the best spring rolls in the city. Fresh and Delicious.
Vietnamese food.
Fantastic! Great food, friendly / attentive staff, cant wait to go back. Also, they easily have the best spring rolls Ive tried in YXE.
Yum!!!
Super good food
Simple delicious meal and service
This restaurant delivers its food hot, fresh & efficiently. I salivate over their fresh rolls, chicken or pork. The vegetables are so crunchy, fresh, and tasty. The other dishes, hot, & the ingredients fresh. This is a great restaurant, healthy, & delicious. I highly recommend it.
Delicious ginger beef
The old owner is back and it is better than ever. The restuarant is so clean and the food is so delicious. I order the Vietnamese rolls on vermicelli once a week. The little old lady (The owner) is such a sweetheart. I was in 2 weeks ago with my 2 year old son and I had ordered a meal I thought he would eat also. After my meal came I tried to order my son a rice dish, the lovely owner stated that was too much for him and that she had made her 2 grandkids who were at the restaurant some rice and that shed get me a bowl for my son too. Well not only did she bring out a delicious dish for him, but she proceeded to pull up a chair and offer to feed him too, so that I could enjoy my meal while it was still warm!!!!! Thats service if I ever had it. She treated me like I was the only customer in there. She never charged me for his meal or her service ;) Since then we are back every week. My son and I can both eat for $11!
Best value and quality in town for my money.
The absolute best Vietnamese food in saskatoon .old tasty recipes
Price, food quality, and customer service are in very good balance. Ive been revisiting for years and have yet to experience anything other than total satisfaction for lunch and supper.
V good food
Hands down our favourite place for Vietnamese in Saskatoon. Delicious food in great quantities at an even easier to swallow price. Weve been loyal customers for the last decade and will continue to frequent this hidden gem.
My son is celiac. The server was very well informed, he gave him so many options. Plus, the cook came out to make sure everything was alright. The rice noodle bowls and fresh salad rolls great as always! And iced coffee. Yummy
Although Rose retired, Saigon rose continues to be an excellent place to enjoy Vietnamese food on a budget. As is frequently the case with such restaurants, the decor is an eclectic mix that can confuse, but is always exceeded by the quality of the food.
Great service and excellent rice noodle bowls. Recently renovated kitchen but otherwise the same charming hole in the wall vietnamese restaurant.
older decor, but the food is~ yum! known for their spring rolls, best in town. love their chicken fried rice as well
The food was terrific, I loved the family run atmosphere, and they accommodated all of my wifes allergies without question!
Best combination vermicelli bowl in the city! great owners. very welcoming and friendly
The Last time I was there was 1994. I had some Rice Wine and watched some Bar Girls dance on the stage. The Menu was Fried Rice and Pork w/ Spring Rolls. The Décor was 1960s Vietnam guaranteed for all you vets to have a flash back to when you were in country dont forget your booney hats and combat boots.
Best char-broiled chicken vermacelli noodle bowls and springs rolls in the city. Everything is good but this is my favorite. Must try
Sorry guys, but the lemongrass chicken rice was not good at all. Too greasy and their were not enough use of complex spices like authentic Vietnamese food should be. I dont recommend if you are looking for some authentic dishes
