The Pig is a local place serving local food! We craft our dishes to blow your mind. Patio service is open, no reservations and no wait times can be given over the phone. To order takeout, please use our website.
The waitress was great, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She knew her job and did it very well. She explained that they also tip the kitchen, and that's a great thing, because the food was great and they do what they do well! My omelet was perfectly made, so much so, it's like it had been done at home. The potatoes on the grill were just as good, and the homemade bread was hit also. Portions are healthy ones. So much so, I brought my potatoes home and had them with my eggs at home, which made my breakfast at home next level. It is excellent value for you money. Can't what till went time.
Quirky pork-forward restaurant with an interesting menu backed up by local ingredients, cooked perfectly, and presented well. My waffle was crisp and hot, covered in caramelized banana and whipped cream, and accompanied with maple syrup and a dollop of nutty brown butter. And very tasty pea meal ham straight from the flattop. It was delicious, and the service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. Recommended...a lot.
The restaurant is at the corner of the street/intersection. The parking lot is in the back (up to around 10 cars). The restaurant has a pig theme on the inside, lots of pig themed decorations. The restaurant is also on the small size. It was also very full and very busy during breakfast hours. We ordered the Benny Poutine ($17), the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe ($15), the Triple S Crepe ($18), the Notorious PIG ($20), two coffees ($3 each), and water. The Benny Poutine was really tasty. It came with 2 poached eggs, hollandaise sauce slathered on top of the home fries with cheese. At times there were pockets of salt which was quite the surprise to choke on. The bowl was bigger than expected and also somewhat deep. The Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was better than expected. Not too sweet and light. Very delicious as well. Was pretty good and was very large and long. The Triple S Crepe was a sweet, salty and spicy crepe. It looked rather small, but it was filled to the brim with filling on the inside. The meat was pretty salty. The Notorious PIG was under the Eggs Benedict menu. It came with 2 poached eggs on top of 2 Korean pulled pork sandwiches, with home fries on the side. The pulled pork was soft and delicious. The eggs were a bit too runny/raw for my mom. As a family, we shared our plates of food. My mom found that a lot of the food we got was too salty and greasy for her. We all agreed that the Caramel Apple Pie Crepe was very good, just that my mom didn't like the 3 dallops of whipped cream on top of the sweet crepe. The water is cold tap water. The coffee was watered down coffee. The table has salt and pepper, as well as a ketchup bottle. There were also 10% cream and 2% skim milk tiny containers as well as sugar that was very lightly sweet. The online menu is out of date, a few dollars cheaper than the current menu in-person. The washroom was small and tight. Was kind of hard to squeeze on by the washroom stall door. Also the washroom smelled bad. Overall, the food was good, albeit a little bit too much salt and grease. The coffee was bad, very watered down and the sugar wasn't really sweet. The service was good, I guess. The servers came to check up on us and refill our watered down coffee with more watered down coffee. Pros: Food was tasty. Cons: Food was a bit too salty and greasy. Coffee was too watered down. Sugar wasn't sweet. Parking lot is very small.
First-rate breakfast spot. Inventive menu that still makes room for the classics. Friendly service and overall thoughtful, fun upgrade to the usual breakfast/brunch spot. 🐷🐷🐷🐷
Unfortunately today was a very unpleasant experience for my mother and I. This is one of our favourite places to eat as the service is (usually) amazing and the food is incredible. Today we had Taylor as our waitress. I never ever complain about people as I understand everyone has an off day, but I am very disappointed in the service we received that I feel the need to share… When we were seated and she came to take our order for drinks, she looked visibly annoyed and in a bad mood. She didn’t introduce herself or anything just said “what do you want to drink” and walked away. She completely forgot to bring my water all together until I asked a second time if we can please get our drinks. Once we got our food we realized that some of our order was missing (side of sausage) which no big deal we thought well just remind her. When we reminded her asking “is the sausage on the bill?” Instead of apologizing for messing up the order she just huffed and said “no”. When she brought us the bill and we paid, she looked at the receipt in front of us to see what tip we gave her (was small because of the poor service) and she huffed and dramatically placed the receipt on the table. Extremely rude. She did not smile a single time from our arrival to our departure. Made for a very uncomfortable experience. It’s unfortunate because we love this place. If you are reading this, maybe you were having an off day it happens to the best of us, but please be aware of how you are treating your customers and if you want a better tip you need to make people feel comfortable around you.
Delicious brunch (highly recommend “The Angela” if you’re into green veggies and potatoes). Loved the massive hot sauce collection, bottomless coffees (with option for oat milk), and large selection of vegetarian options. Friendly staff, fresh airy space. Would def come back.
One of the best breakfast places we have been too. We are traveling with 2 teens and a child. They are all in a food comatose state. I will full recommend to friends and family. You can get the breakfast stables or fancy breakfast fare that we enjoyed. Thanks TBP.
I am posting this just for the servers to learn. We came in from out of town staying in a hotel. So we require breakfast. This place was highly recommended so we went. I asked the server what she recommends and her comment was everything. She wouldn’t make suggestions or help guide. I asked out some dishes and asked if spicy and she said yes those are spicy so I picked the Mac and cheese with pork. It came 30 + mins later I took a bite and OMG! So spicy. My husband tasted it and he agreed that was very spicy. The server said that is the bbq sauce. Like I should have known that. I was annoyed for I asked about spice. The server was not pleasant for I told her to take it back I cannot eat it. I reordered a breakfast poutine /fries with eggs. I said no hollandaise sauce instead do the cheese sauce. Waited another 30 mins. Everyone else was finished eating their meals now. When my dish came it had both hollandaise and cheese poured all over. I said right away NOPE TAKE IT THIS IS WRONG. I said I’m done I want the bill and left. I know mistakes happen but no apology from the server I left no breakfast no food We got our bill the 2 dishes that were wrong were deducted. My daughter and I ordered each a mamosa the pink grapefruit was amazing.
Great hidden gem in the Soo! Delicious Benny!
Food Looks good but flavourless.....way way overhyped!!!!!
The food is amazing and the staff is kindly and very fast. The sizes of the dishes are very big. Food
Currently limited menu due to kitchen fire (no pancakes/french toast/crepes/ fries eggs) Check in with restaurant before you come by!! Otherwise great food! Food
A great place to pig out for breakfast. Ange and her team go above and beyond to make sure your meal is amazing. I left happy as a pig in mud!
We have been coming here for a very long time now. We loved it. Today, we visited and noticed the menu has changed. We were sad to see The Adonis was removed from the menu. Every time we would go, we would order this. Hope to see them bring it back.
Pig
Amazing breakfast! Best eggs benny ever, The Notorious P.I.G.!
Came to town under unpleasant circumstances and this place was amazing. Comfort food on steroids!
Excellent service from the very excellent server Renée who really new her business
Great food and great service. A nice end to a visit to the Sault
Damn! This place is freaking delicious. Even the toast is amazing, and the syrup OMG! Definitely coming back here every chance I get.
Im sure you are a wonderful establishment with delicious food and personable people - however a dear friend of mine was really looking forward to dining here until she was told that last call was over, when she arrived at 3. She was starved and sweating and left to get a tims chicken bowl. Oh poor thing
I liked the pig themed restaurant. Good place to have breakfast in the town
Very friendly staff. Delicious food in generous portions
Thanks to all the great ratings we thought we would give this place a try. It was awesome. So many unique things on the menu. Our party had four different breakfasts all were excellent. No wonder this place is so busy at 10am on a Wednesday. If I lived near here I d definitely be back numerous times.
Was very taste food. Service was great and place was clean. Would recommend
Deadly breakfast and also a deadly bill the waitress brings you
Always my go to breakfast stop when I come home!!
No waffles at the time of visit
The service very slow
AMAZING!!
Disappointed that they don t actually have any of the vegetarian options shown on the menu. Really interesting menu for meat eaters, but only a couple of basic vegetarian dishes. Contemplated what to order for so long while we waited for a table (bad check in experience unfortunately, the check-in system was down & that was only mentioned once the waiting area was packed) only to be told none of it was available! but the French toast was still delicious!! awesome local products used, & my friend did enjoy the meat options.
Food is phenomenal - would highly recommend the the chicken and waffles, and to drink, the Pineapple Mimosas. Excellent flavor all around, with a clean environment, and great decor.
Amazing food!!
Fast, very friendly young staff proud to be part of this business. The menu will blow you away
I love the Breakfast Pig. I get the usual (the hangover) but the several time Ive tried something more experimental, Ive been thoroughly impressed. Always consistent. Hands down best breakfast in town. I would reccom staying away from the Angela but thats just me.
Quiet busy spot, the servers did amazing, the COOK did amazing. Prices are fair, only gave it 3 star for service because there were no coffee top ups. Not the servers fault though. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast if youre driving past the Soo. Parking seems to be limited. Lineups can get pretty long
We read the reviews and gave this place a try. We only have good things to say about the delicious food. We had the Benedict Poutine and the Bananas Foster French Toast, both were amazing, fresh, and full of flavors and wonderful textures. We ordered a crepe to go, even after a few hours later the crepe also was incredible! This is a must when in town, easy to get to, great service, plenty of parking.
The food and service was Perfection.
With the words Bad Ass in the name I expected a little more edgier vibe when I walked in. It was more like a country kitchen. With that said, the experience overall was good. The food was great. I m a sucker for anything Benedict style so of course I had to try the the Benny Poutine. Highly recommend just wish it came with ham. My grandson ate two of the three pieces of French toast, which is great because he is picky. We would definitely eat here again.
Loved the pan fried potatoes and classic bennies. Attentive service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free toast was a nice surprise Food : 5/5 |
Everything was excellent ! Food service and ambiance
Small place but the food is amazing, and service is awesome. Every time we travel to the Sault for overnight we go to breakfast pigs for breakfast
Awesome and unique menu options
The servers are friendly and know everything about every item on the menu.
Best Eggs Benedict I have ever had! Fresh bread makes it s incredible!
Made us wait over an hour until we just left. They were rude and lacked communication. I ll never go back there and I suggest you save you time and go to McDonald s. we just did lol
Perfect breakfast spot: a must visit whenever youre in Sault St Marie.
I asked for grilled potatoes and they give me deep fried potatoes so I did not pay as the only thing grilled was the onions and then they go ahead and charge me for the dam onions. I used to be a great customer and will never go there again
Good food , large servings, quick kitchen, interesting recipes. Limited parking
Wicked food awesome small town restaurant
Hate to do this but we have to be honest because we ordered take out based off the amount of good reviews. The food was absolutely terrible. We tossed the entire order out. Pancakes were burnt and had fuzz on them. :/ waffles were dry and powdery. Bacon tasted off. Sausages dry and generally tasted bad. Scrambled eggs were over cooked and had brown bits in them I assume from the griddle. Even the toast was bad, not sure how that s possible but it is.
We were planning a day up around SSM and stopped by for breakfast. Everything was absolutely PHENOMENAL. All of us in our party of 4 agreed this is probably THE best breakfast weve ever had. If youre in the area you must try it! We loved the pancakes, Monte Cristo crepe and Benny Poutine the best.
Came here from out of town, seen a lot of good reviews but the breakfast my wife and I ordered was terrible .eggs were cold, bacon was way over cooked, pretty much burnt, the toast was hard as a rock the home fries were way over cooked, dry and hard was very disappointed. Spending 60 dollars including tip, felt robbed!
Best meal Ive ever had! Delicious food and amazing menu. It was so difficult to choose. We ended up with the Korean bbq eggs Benedict, shakshuka, and split a berries and cream crepe. Everything was exceptional.
It was such a joy and pleasure that I had to go back for another visit before going home. All day breakfast menu.
The food was fabulous and plentiful made fresh to order service was great
Everything that is said about the breakfast pigs is spot on! The food is awesome and the staff is very friendly. We tried this place and next time I am in the area I think it will be morning breakfast everyday.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Staff is always friendly and the food is always great. Wait times can get a bit long when its busy, but worth the wait IMO. :)
Loved the Hang over breakfast.
We stop here every year on our way to Air Ivanhoe for our annual floatplane fishing trip. The food and cheery service have become a much enjoyed part of our annual tradition.
The crepes are to die for, the portions are generous and the service is fast and friendly. It is very popular so go early if you want a table.
I have never had a better breakfast, and I eat a lot of breakfast, I wouldn t say I m an expert but this place was so damn good I decided I needed to write a review, seriously if you re in Sault St. Marie and you have a chance to come here do not miss out
One of the best places I ve ever been for breakfast! The coffee was even great! I had the Monkey French toast (it wasn t called that exactly) and my husband had peanut butter and Dammm and his was wonderful too!
Friendly staff and great food. Must try.
Absolutely delicious! Awesome menu and a quality breakfast you definitely cant get anywhere else!
A must see restaurant in the Soo. I visited a few times for breakfast and enjoyed immensely.
Outstanding all-day breakfast spot. No negatives, except perhaps portions too big. Everything just right, great value for money.
Great food and great service
Love this place
Everything fresh and tasty. French toast, bananas and bacon. So good! It s like a home breakfast meal
Great food and great service! Great menu with something for everyone
Best breakfast and service in SSM hands down!! I will not go anywhere else!
Great breakfast. Ask for your home fries grilled not deep fried. Go with bacon not sausage. Lots of food. Food : 5/5 |
We ordered take-out on our way to Thunder Bay. They did not yet have their patio set up to eat outside but did have benches you could eat at. This was needed as we were traveling with dogs. They even brought our takeout food outside to us. Loved the banana bread French toast a must try.
Food comes hot and fast. The server was excellent and helpful when placing an order.
GO PIG OR GO HOME! Seriously awesome breakfast with fresh fruit, french toast with caramelized apples, and great coffee. Outstanding and friendly service with a wide variety of hot sauces too. You gotta try this one! Wheelchair accessibility: Moderately wheelchair friendly to get in, but the bathroom would not work at all for a wheelchair user. Sadness!
Was in from out of town, and the name grabbed us. The menu is awesome, wish I could have tried everything. The service was excellent, the food quality and quantity was amazing. You Gotta Eat Here!! Highly recommended this place!!
Amazing experience. Worth the border crossing.
Was taken out for brunch to what I thought was a basic diner, boy was I wrong, this place is excellent, the food, service and atmosphere are top notch. The food is mostly locally sourced and add that to the service, you will definetely want to try this place out. Kudos to Taylor (our server) and her co-workers, you really do an excellent job!
Welcoming staffing. Delicious breakfast. We were served right away. The service was first rate. Highly recommended.
This was the biggest breakfast fast and amazing great service
This breakfast place is absolutely exceptional. I plan trips around going to this restaurant when I travel. Here s hoping they will open up a location in Sudbury Ontario! Thank you for the amazing food and service you provide. HIGHLY recommended.
Wouldn t allow us to bring our Yorkie (little dog) in to their restaurant even though the dog was completed confined to a specialty dog / pet stroller. That s fine. You don t get our business. Thanks for being ridiculous.
My daughter and I had breakfast at the pig and were disappointed. The potatoes were over salted and the eggs overdone. My daughter asked for chocolate milk, and it wasnt on the menu. The sausages were dry and they also didnt offer hp sauce. I only mention these items because at every breakfast restaurant theyve been available. The coffee was Luke warm and the waitress never topped up until long after Id finished my cup. The waffle machine was broken and instead of 2 waffles that were part of the meal Id ordered, I was offered one less egg and one pancake as a replacement. Their prices are higher than other breakfast restaurants, so our standards were set higher.
No disappointment here!!
Super friendly, casual, with fun decor. Amazing and creative menu. Very flavorful and helpful. Highly recommend Parking: Small lot in the back of building, access from the street
Great place for breakfast. Generous portions and great value for money. Service cant be beat.
Great food, Great staff. theres a reason I had to wait for a table. well worth it
What a delicious and wonderful place to go for a special breakfast I got the hangover and everything was made to perfection 10 out of 10 and a must try
Visited on Mothers Day 2024. We were on the Michigan side of the river scanning Google maps for a breakfast place. Saw Breakfast Pig on the map and thought with a name like that, I have to check into it. Found some excellent reviews on a travel website. The dining room was almost full, but got a table for two with no waiting. Service was great. Food was awesome. Best house-made whipped cream ever! As a former bus boy from the late 70s....compliments to the young lady bussing tables that morning. Well worth the International Bridge toll!
One of the best in town! Must try.
Amazing food and wonderful service. I will always stop here when Im in the soo
A must go to restaurant every time I visit Sault.
I got chicken and waffles which was good and Pmeal, eggs, rye toast, homefries, and sausages. The one with P meal cost around 20 dollars the eggs that were supposed to come with them werent there there were 1 or 2 eggs scrambled for 20 dollars should be at least 4. There was only about 3 bites of eggs which was disappointing and there was two orders of sausages but I only got one. Usually 1 order of sauges is 4 I had two ordered 2 serving of sausages only received four in total really disappointing. Only issues is missing items from order otherwise the food was really good. Also it says fried chicken and waffles but the chicken didnt look like the pictures was really flat and looked cooked in oven not fried but still tasted good.
Weve been dying to try the Breakfast Pig since they were featured on You Gotta Eat Here. It was just as good as advertised! The only reason I removed one star is because all dishes aside from the waffles/crepes came with eggs and Im just not a fan of eggs. The portions are decent for the price and the atmosphere was comfortable. You gotta try the breakfast Mac and cheese!
Yummy selection
Its a good place to eat
I ve gone to the breakfast pig nearly every week for the past couple of months, and they never disappoint me! I always order their hangover which is always delicious. All the food is always fresh and equally priced. Definitely visit here if you re a breakfast/lunch person!
Fantastic service very celiac friendly!!! Waitress was amazing. Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly. Even waffles!! Gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Very unique and healthy breakfast. They must get their breakfast sausage locally because it tastes like it could be locally made very tasty not greasy and very tasty potatoes on the grill !!!
Great place with nice atmosphere and excellent food. The staff allowed to finish our pancakes after their usual business hours, much appreciated.
Food was too greasy.
If youre looking for a queer friendly and welcoming space, thats your jam! The food is extremely tasty! Great staff, the place looks adorable with all the flying pigs. went with husband, parents and in-laws, Great family experience.
This place is awesome. super good vibes. We showed up and they where closed for dine in, due to construction on the front of the building. They fully made accommodations for us at the side of the building and pulled out some table and chairs for us. service was great and the food was pretty epic. will for sure be back for an indoor seat next time we pass through the sault. cheers !
Went to try again. Last time I went it wasnt great. This time service horrible and food was not cooked through and the server gave a lame excuse. I wont be going back.
My best friend suggested this location and he wasn t wrong. Very nice atmosphere and server was very friendly and accommodating.
Perfect breakfast spot. My wife and I were in town for a morning and had the perfect breakfast here. Id recommend it to anyone.
Great food and awesome service!
Was here back Aug of 22. Had very good service even tho short staffed. Food delicious. Made a point of going here while camping one Michigan. We ll return next time we re up in the mitt.
Interesting place. I tried the Shakshuka but while I enjoyed the flavors, I found it to be just too much sauce, swamping the other ingredients. The Mrs. enjoyed her dish, and I would like to try other dishes there myself next time
Typical North American breakfast, with eggs, bacon, potatoes and bread, as well as that mug of coffee which was the most delicious brewed coffee Ive had on my vacation in Canada so far. The price is very fair since the dish is huge and enough for 2 to eat in peace. The service is great.
Fun place!
Kind servers, good food, nice atmosphere.
I cannot overstate the quality of the food at The Breakfast Pig! My husband and I were in town for his business and this was one of the 2 best meals we had while there. We even tried to go back for a second meal during our visit but unfortunately everyone else knows how amazing this place is too and the wait was just too long. You can put your name on a wait list before arriving (which we didn t know) so I would definitely recommend doing that during peak times and/or on the weekend. We had the 2 different versions of chicken and waffles along with some home fries and everything was insane!! I was hoping to try the pulled pork on our second round but I m sure everything on the menu is delicious and you d be happy with whatever you order!
The place is best for families, friends and for morning dates.. ..we were host by Emily and she is best at her work... Must visit this place if you have sweet tooth..
Delicious food, decently priced, great portions! Good atmosphere, doing well during this covid time!
Delicious Breakfast. Best service. Must Visit place . Vegetarian options: Delicious Pancakes
It was amazing and we loved the hospitality and food there
Plenty of parking, loads of breakfast options, amicable staff, kids friendly and big enough to accommodate many. If you are in Sault Ste. Marie and want to do breakfast then visit this restaurant and you won t be disappointed
Had family visit from out of town, took them here and we had a great time. Awesome food and good service!
Our first time here was great, we are traveling with our dog so we were looking for a restaurant with a pet friendly patio. The second day we went to have breakfast and they wouldn t serve us on the patio, stating there was a wasp problem. I sat outside on their patio for almost 10 min waiting for my partner to get us a table and didn t encounter any wasps.
I ate at The Breakfast Pig yesterday for the first time and seeing as I literally live around the corner now, I will be back!! Our server Alex made the experience even better with her suggestions and great personality! The food was delicious. I have mine and my friends leftovers for breakfast today. The PB and Daamn, a Cinnamon Swirl Pancake and The Porky were shared by the 2 of us and I brought half home. Generous portions, and oh did I say DELICIOUS???
the best breakfast place in town. The chicken and waffles are out of this world! It gets busy but the servers are amazing! Phenomenal breakfast eatery!
Delicious breakfast, noticeably top quality sausage, bacon and ham
This is one of our favorite breakfast joints... anywhere. The food is dynamite. Quality ingredients (its maple syrup and not generic pancake syrup) that are locally sourced are standard. Im not a foodie, but the look of the food will blow you away when it arrives. Prices are reasonable, especially for what you get. We have a place on the US side, but when we visit the trip isnt complete until we cross the bridge and eat at The Pig. The place is popular, so there may be a wait to get seated. They also offer on-line check-in.
YUM! The Breakfast Pig is now our #1 choice for food while road tripping through the Soo. We stopped on our way to Thunder Bay and enjoyed some chicken and waffles which were outstanding, so crispy and tender. This time I opted for the bacon and jalapeño Mac N Cheese and it delivered! This Mac N Cheese makes up for 3 years of disappointing, runny, cheese-less, under-portioned, and flavourless Mac N Cheeses I ve ordered from other restaurants. Thank you Breakfast Pig for getting it right! 10/10 would recommend, very good menu for breakfast and brunch, friendly and profession staff, excellent value! If you re in Sault Ste. Marie and haven t gone or just passing through give The Breakfast Pig a try :)
Food was just not as good as it looked
What a delightful surprise to see this quaint vibe inside of the Breakfast Pig. Definitely a local hidden gem. The breakfasts are hearty, so come with an appetite and come early or you will be waiting in line. Love how this local restaurant supports other local businesses, like Thomson Strawberry Jam and Homemade Bakery - sourdough toast. A shout out to Emily for her friendly and prompt service. Inside the restaurant is immaculate kept.
Vegetarian options: Vegan breakfast was vegan eggs, beyond meat sausage, home fries. Dietary restrictions: Also had the vegan breakfast and gluten-free toast. Fabulous!
So good. Try the Notorious P.I.G.
Great little place! Awesome food!
Woah!! THIS is a spot!! Get breakfast here, the portion is huge, staff are super friendly, food is delicious and very fresh! The ambiance is also cool, great place!
Found this nice restaurant for breakfast while on vacation and great portions for money family friendly place best breakfast I had while I was on a traveling vacation I will be back to this place I highly recommend this restaurant
Superb breakfast spot in Soo, Canada. Go!
Be ready to spend some time in a line, but it is worth it. the choice of food is good, portions are big. every item we ordered was delicious.
So many options and all taste amazing, great prices, great service. So happy to have found this place in SSM!
Best breakfast EVER!!!
We had a great breakfast here, and the staff were very friendly.
Absolutely fantastic! A bit pricey, but the quality and quantity makes it worth the cost. Also, a very comfortable ambiance with helpful, friendly staff. My new go-to place for something special!
Best breakfast we have had on our cross Canada road trip
Huge portions, delicious food!
Their fall menu is exciting! Stuffing waffles under poached eggs with gravy! Pumpkin white chocolate pancakes!
Took a jaunt into Ontario when visiting the Sault Ste Marie American side and very glad to find this place. We had delicious food with unique twists and got a plate of homefries just to try all the hot sauces.
It is always nice to have breakfast at this place when visiting SSM.
We did take out and it was delicious, we had the mother clucker and the Porky both we awesome, the wait to sit down was about 20-30 minutes but would have been worth it.
Almost didnt go in based upon the exterior condition of the building and the property. It looked derelict! 3 feet high dead weeds and windows that hadnt been cleaned in years.
I travel a lot. A good breakfast on a long road trip is a delight, and The Breakfast Pig is delightful. Try the whitefish cake benny I was delighted!
Easily the best breakfast joint in town & my favourite place to go for it Wide selection of hot sauces, and classic + original ideas for an unreal breakfast menu. Food : 5/5
Can I just say this place was fantastic. Starting out with the hostess with the mostest wearing their pink top and cute black pants. They were so friendly and welcoming. I loved it already. Then our waitress came over and she was amazing and our food was amazing. I only gave it a one-star for atmosphere because we were there during renovations and there was grinding and pounding and jack hammering. That cant last forever. Get yourself there. Drive across the bridge and go there for breakfast you wont be disappointed.
This was a great start to our day. Breakfast was fantastic here. The staff were also super helpful and friendly. Place was under construction when we were there and was packed. I think its still gonna be packed after the construction based on the food and service. Parking: Place was packed so we had to park on the street.
Fantastic brunch! I had the motherclucker The eggs were poached at a medium, which is how I prefer them on eggs benny. The chicken was crunchy yet tender. Highly recommend it. The Yelp waitlist is a great tool, and being able to jump on the wait list before getting to the restaurant was convenient.
Food was great
We stumbled upon The Breakfast Pig while staying in Sault Ste Marie and ended up eating there twice because it was so good! Waitress was friendly and the atmosphere was fun. It did take quite some time to actually get our food, but it was worth the wait. We enjoyed trying all of the hot sauce available on the wall and would definitely recommend the PB & Daaaamn!
Amazing food! So good.
Cannot say enough good things about this place. Menu has lots of selection, food was delicious and large portion sizes. Amazing coffee!! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced for the portions received Would highly recommend
Great food, accommodating staff and fun atmosphere!!
Great atmosphere and food. The service is always amazing. Vegetarian options: A few vegan options available. Great portions. Food : 5/5 |
Breakfast Pig was pretty good. Pretty trendy place, which was busy on a Saturday afternoon. We got there around 2pm and didnt have to wait to be seated. Some bigger groups had to wait for a table. Lots of options on the menu, and it looks like lots of the ingredients were locally sourced. The restaurant looked clean and well maintained, service was reasonably quick given they were busy and friendly enough too. I would come back here for sure.
The food simply was NOT good. Portions were big, but that s where it ends. My wife had the Basic (eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast). Several strips of bacon were burnt black (no exaggeration), home fries were severely over cooked in old oil (some were partially black), and eggs were barely warm when served. I ordered the Angela - what a mistake. It s described sort of as a skillet on a grilled potato hash . In reality, what you get is a plate full of flavorless potatoes. Literally. Topped with some mush made from onions, mushrooms, and spinach (I never saw, or could not distinguish, a single Asparagus spear). A couple of poached eggs on top, then the cook douses the entire plate with balsamic glaze. No flavor, nothing sautéed properly, the so-called grilled potatoes were under-cooked (some were partially raw), and the eggs were cold when served. I mean, this was garbage. The only saving grace was that our server (short, young lady with dark hair) handled our complaint EXTREMELY professionally, partially comped my meal, and apologized several times. Wow - you don t see that kind of service very often in Canada.
Was good open with a lot of people
Great breakfast place! We had Shakshuka & Eggs Benedict. Very tasty, well priced, good portions, friendly prompt service, and lots of gluten free options!!
First time in Sault Saint Marie, could not have picked a better place for breakfast before hitting the road. The interior is beautiful and cozy, the menu had such delicious variety I wish I could try more of, and the coffee was perfect and warm - just like the staff! Cheers.
The pumpkin pancakes were fluffy, moist and delicious. I asked to have mine served with sautéed apples. Num!
As fellow cook this food is on point the staff is fantastic, well the food lets say proper moves people if your in town come here and crush some goodness.
Delicious breakfast and coffee!
Delicious crepe! Servings too large, I felt guilty not finishing.
Good vegan options, fast friendly service, and hot sauce to boot.
Serves fun interesting food, slightly expense, but fully worth it
10/10 service, 12/10 food. Highly recommended if you love breakfast eats.
Great food
The only thing that should have been mildly annoying for us was that we had to wait for an 8top to clear as we were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids. I understand having to wait for a larger table to clear, especially on a Sunday morning at a breakfast place, but when they seat a party of 4 at one of the only large tables, when a 4top was just about to open as well. Not to mention the table of 6-9 elderly people that spent $45 collectively (they left their reciept on the table) and didnt tip. They were just sat there for about half an hour with absolutely nothing but their coffees in front of them, chatting. Im trained in this industry, went to post secondary for it, and there comes a point when you have to kindly urge patrons on when your restaurant has 15 people in your small lobby. Our wait time was quoted by the waitlist for 11+ minutes and boy did they really rely on that plus sign. We waited for about half an hour. When we were finally seated, it was at the awkwardest, most uncomfortable table near the serving station, and we were missing a seat. Upon asking for an extra chair, our server huffed before apparently going to hell and backto go a couple step to find my partner something to sit on. This was not the only inconvenience we threw upon this poor poor woman doing her JOB. She was incredibly pushy with our order, and then came back to our table a total of 3 times afterwards, despite problems at the table. She slammed our drinks down, demanded our order again, then informed us that 2 of the skillets that we ordered might take a bit longer. Everything came out all at once, which raises alarm bells when warned of a dish taking longer than others. My friends, their kids, and my two travel partners all had amazing food. I ordered the Adonis, a delicious sounding eggs benny, and the home fries. Potatoes were good, but my bennys were ICE and the English muffin was untoasted and soggy. I tried flagging our server a few times before she finally deemed us worthy to check in, once the kids were done their pancakes,15 minutes later. I mentioned that my food was cold, and she gave me the most scathing look, as if she was saying thats because you havent touched them and they cooled down. Meanwhile, I was so excited for these damn eggs that they were the first thing I dove into. Ice from the first bite. So I simply ask that they be taken off the bill, or partially off the bill, because I am not going to eat more than the one bite I tried and also my potatoes. She comes back, 10 minutes later, and shoves a takeout box in my girlfriends face without looking at me, and ran off. So my girlfriend packages up her food that she had actually enjoyed and couldnt finish, and the server sees this and asks if we need another box for MY food. I say no, I dont want them at all. Please take them off the bill, theyre inedible. She grabs my plate and doesnt even go 5 steps before we hear the BIGGEST huff of annoyance. We get the bill, and surprise surprise, the Adonis is on it. We were so fed up and my friends didnt want to cause a scene, so we just paid. We left a $20 on the table as well, because my friends are also in this industry and understand even bad servers live off of their tips. No have a good day or smiles or courtesy at all from this woman. Just brought the machine, stood there silently, and left as soon as she could. The whole vibe of the staff here was they were there for a cheque and nothing else, and thats not a healthy thing to have in your restaurant. This was my first time here, as well as my travel partners, and we are never coming back and warning people against at least going on a Sunday. Maybe the service would have been better on another day, but the lack of willingness to work with us in a polite manner, even on a busy day, was disgusting. So disappointed as I love the message behind this restaurant, just a shame they employ people without an iota of passion or at least commitment.
Good was cooked way too much both days we tried it , not much flavour

I had done a Northern Ontario road trip with a 2 night stop it Sault Ste. Marie. A friend and I were looking for breakfast places and were recommended this place by a local. The menu items are unique and taste amazing. It was so good we ended up having breakfast there a second time on the way out of town.
Great little restaurant to go to. Prices r good too. Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free bread Parking: Lots of parking.
Waited over an hour for our breakfast. when the food came, my order was wrong, and eggs were cold.
