I went there for the first time with my son and two of my work bros out in this area for business. We ordered three different burgers, a Reuben and a few apps. It was all very good. Nice beers in tap and real Guinness, real like the kind I had when I lived in England for two years. The staff was great, our waitress was very easy to look at (and really good). My only complaint is no Wild Turkey 101. As far as mid-priced Bourbons go 101 is epic, epic like smokes a ton of top tier stuff. Every bar in the world should carry 101. Four of us ate like pigs, drank like fish and had a very nice time on the cheap. Meals were all well under $20 but we drank like alcoholics. Total bill $175. 👍 Anyways, great food, nice taps, great staff.
We'd been here once before on a trip to Sault St-Marie, but that was during covid so we got takeout. Food was good then, but this time it was nice to come inside and enjoy the restaurant. On a football Sunday afternoon in October, there were just enough people at the bar and just enough activity to be fun with being overwhelming. Very nice and capable staff. Good burgers and fries. Nice selection of craft beers. Recommended.
We had the steak bites and white fish basket. Both were amazing my steak bites were cooked to perfection the fish was huge and very delicious.
When we were passing through the area, we stopped in for a bite to eat. Not busy at all. The place was clean, the wait staff was friendly. We ordered a chicken wrap and a salad. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen, and fries were Luke warm. The waitress struggled to refill our drinks and pick up our order from the window as we watched it sit in the window until she decided to pick it up. The food was mediocre at best.
Stopped here while visiting the Soo Locks. Quick service, friendly staff, and delicious food. Sweet Potato fries...😋. Chicken sandwich and hamburgers, all were delicious and HOT!
Food was fresh. We got boneless wings as our app. I got the “crack chicken wrap” and my husband got the “Garlic burger” both were amazing definitely recommend trying it out. Server was nice. Not over priced
We stopped here for lunch. The beer cheese burger was delicious. We did not enjoy the pretzel and beer cheese because the pretzel tasted like it had been deep fried. I did enjoy that they had hard cider options.
Our food came so fast that we just barely got our drinks. I have never had an Olive Burger before but it was phenomenal!!! Hot sweet potato fries that were perfect crisp. Same with my husband's Reuben and his fries were 10 times better according to him than another restaurant down the street. Crispy, light and hot! Great flavored reuben too as we shared the leftovers for dinner last night. Would definitely go again!
First time there, we were treated like regulars. Service and food was great. Erica was our bartender and she was awesome.
This review is strictly for the bar as we intended just to have a couple drinks. Atmosphere is great, very nice place. That s where our visit fell apart. My drink of choice is rye whiskey and I m not particular as any rye will work. They did not have any rye whiskeys. My fiancé s drink of choice is Bacardi Limon but they did not have it. My second choice was a blended margarita but they don t have a blender so nada on that. I asked what they had for bottle beer and they only had Corona and Heineken. Nothing else. Oh well good news is the food looked great and serving sizes generous. We were near kitchen and saw a number of food orders going out.
It is a Sunday on Nov 3rd 2024, people are here watching football. The shift manager decides she doesnt want to hear the NFL games anymore and plugs in her phone to blast late 90s early 2000s hip hop. They advertise open till 11pm. At 9:20 pm is last call(not even half time on the evening football game)becuase thats whats the shift manager decided even though there were multiple tables and people at the bar.......not the direction I would have gone but oh well.....
Went in for a few drinks, brought our pool cues. Set up with a few drinks, got our sticks out, and the waitress turned the lights over the pool table down to where you couldnt see a thing. This was 7 pm. Pool table was uneven, and rails were dead, along with no light. Wont be back.
Worth the stop for sure! Good food, watched the game, and had a beer. Watched some guy shoot pool. If get back up there, we will stop in again.
Great food, great service, all around great experience.
Average place with a great service staff
No whitefish, no steak bites, no swirl rye bread, no metal silverware. Seemed like a place on the downslope.
Yummy food, nice server and a really cool building!
Loved this place
Friendly and busy, laughing atmosphere. Nice portions, you wont leave hungry. Food
Pub with plenty of seating for couples or families, a full bar, keno, and a pool table. Burger was great and so was the service.
Great go to getter do on scenic route. Very FRIENDLY GREAT SERVICE.
Sat down. Table next to us sat down and got drinks before we were addressed. After we ordered, we noticed 5 groups that got beverages. We left because apparently we were not able to eat there.
Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. Server did not apologize for the wait
Love the burgers and the staff!
This is a great place to stop off and grab a bite to eat and have a nice beverage. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating.
Awesome place with great Irish mules
Honestly first time weve been in here. Service was very distracted with another table apparently her friends or someone that she was very interested in keeping contact with. More so than us. The food was okay but nothing to write home about the selection was very limited
Small town bar/restaurant. Fun atmosphere. A lot of food and drink choices. Food that I had was very good. Highly recommend steak bites and fried pickles. Small outside sitting area to enjoy the surroundings. The service was great. Can not wait to visit again.
The place is dirty service was slow and not hardly anyone there bot food was good maby a little pricey
Came in for a late lunch waited well over an hour for drinks and food. When the food came it was extremely cold!! Server was not friendly at all and it took another hour to cash out!! Not even 10 ppl in here.
Excellant food
Stopped in for a snack and a couple of drafts. Drink selection seems to be quite good, and the food seemed decent enough, but there were some shortages on the menu.
Fish wasnt done the greatest and fries were cold. I should have alerted wait staff (didnt) so its my fault. Service was friendly, tentative and helpful
Great quick, friendly service. Great tasting food. Love the sports bar pub, atmosphere.
The family came in after the Soo Locks tour and grabbed lunch. We enjoyed our meal. My husband got a sandwich with au jus that he liked. My son got a burger with beer cheese that was really good. We never had empty drinks and we didn t have to chase anyone down for anything. The food took a bit, but it wasn t an hour like many of the reviews. There were several beers on tap and a pool table to enjoy!
Im a big reuben person, and this one is one of the best Ive ever had! A must have!
You really need to re-read these reviews and do something to improve your restaurant/bar. We stopped for lunch today after enjoying the Soo Locks, hungry and ready for a good meal. We waited over an hour for our food, it wasn t good and wasn t warm. Then waited forever to get a bill, almost walked out leaving what we thought was close to paying the bill and then our waitress showed up. Your staff was just running around like crazy, total stressed out looks on each of their faces. Too busy on even act they enjoyed what they were doing. Wished I d read the reviews before we stopped. Fries are terrible, plain ole Hamburg bun for a whitefish sandwich. Just not good at all. Total waste of time and money.
You must try the queso with tortilla chips!! Its really great!
OK
Stopped in for lunch after taking a Soo Locks tour. The first place we tried was really busy and we didnt want to wait 30 minutes to be seated so we wandered down the street and ended up here and we all agreed it was a very happy accident. The server was very friendly and the food was great. Highly recommend the Mac and Cheese, wings, and onion rings. But honestly everything we ordered was fantastic.
Super slow, 7 staff on the floor and half the house was full. Took forever for a drink, no taps were working so I have no idea why it was so slow. No cod bites and took almost an hour for 2 drinks and whitefish.
I don t usually write reviews, this was so bad I feel I need to do a service to the public. 1.) instead of being greeted I was screamed at saying they have no draft because there cooler is broken. 2.) the staff was running around like nut jobs, there were 6 plus waitstaff and a 1/2 filled restaurant there is no reason for staff to act like that and to complain about their jobs as much. Against my better judgement I ordered 3.) food took over an hour to get the wrong thing. We ate it, not shocked at this point it was cold and gross. 4.) I had to ask for the bill because the head bartender was to busy taking staff s coffee orders. Save your time and money and go somewhere else
Extremely slow service, they were out of an amazingly large number of things, both food items and alcohol items, mistakes in our order, and food way way over cooked. They were very short-handed so not the wait staff fault, and to their credit they did comp us on the mistake and were very pleasant. Still, not a pleasant dining experience for us. Seems like the owner needs to revamp in some way.
Terrible service. When I asked about the wrong drink the waitress was nasty. Slow slow slow. Beer chhese on burger tasted like cheese whiz. Mistake on the bill.
Slow service, food was good but not worth the wait. Waitstaff are either incredibly understaffed, mismanaged, or both.
Food was sub par for the price. Staff was great though and nice atmosphere. Possibly worst tasting walleye i have ever eaten.
Amazing did food, amazing service.
Waited over 1 and 1/2 hours for our food.
It took forever for someone to take our order and it was over an hour before our food was served. I had shrimp and it was okay, but my fries were overdone. The waitress told us the grill table was small and they couldn t cook much at a time. Very disappointed, because our tour bus driver had highly recommended this restaurant.
Lively and very good walleye. Shawn the bartender was fun.
There menus advertise that you can substitute for onion rings for the fries but dosent state that it will cost extra.so that was disappointing when we got our bill
First time here. Great food and fabulous staff!
I know live music is Irish Pub standard, but personally, I dont like not being able to chat with people because the music is too loud. Regardless, when we return to the area, we will most likely come back to Moloneys Alley. Bill
Stop to hear for a quick bite. Quesadilla with steak was very good. The Reuben was also very good. This is a bar/ restaurant. There are lots of TVs that had football games on them. The staff was very nice and the interior very nice
**Make sure to read all the reviews. The bad reviews are mostly accurate. Our experience here was bad. The bartenders were not friendly... maybe because we were out-of-towners....Im guessing? Im not sure. We decided to move from the bar to a table because we werent being waited on. We sat socializing for 2 hours, and not once were we approached by a staff member to see if we needed anything. But tables around us were all being waited on. We cant figure out why? Other than the other tables were regulars? I wished I had read all the other reviews before entering this place. Hows this place making money....geez!! Ill be in the area with family from Switzerland to show them how beautiful the U.P. is in a couple of weeks... and Im not taking them to this place. I want my family to have a great experience.
college type Irish bar, lots of fun. Great tavern! 5/14/24 excellent food and service, you wont be disappointed! Food
I have never been treated so badly by wait staff in my entire life. We waited almost 2 hours, after several inquiries, none of which were handled with any professionalism, we watched as table after table that arrived after us received their food. On our final request we asked if our order may have been missed, we were given nasty comments about how busy they were. We could not wait any longer as we were on a scheduled stop, we were told that our meals were now being prepared! so we walked out. A waitress followed us into the street screaming that we must pay. Unfortunately a member of our party forgot her purse, upon returning to claim her belongings, they adamantly refused to return it to her until she paid for ALL the meals We were a party of 4 . The take out we were given only contained 3 orders. Mistakes happen.. but the way we were treated was beyond unexceptable.
Worst dining experience I ever had. Mismanaged dive. I warn you to stay away.
Great time and the waitress was fun forget her name she has a tattoo on her back hope to be back someday
Gluten Free options! Kid-friendliness: Changing Table in the restroom. Food : 5/5 |
Great food served quickly. Great menu
20 beers on tap. Ok food for a bar and the small kitchen they had, but more expensive than average. Conveniently located across from the Ojibway hotel for guests to get blasted and safety walk home. Can be entertained by plenty of TVs to watch sports, and pull-tabs.
Another successful trip to Moloneys. Plenty of beer options on draft. The food was delicious. The staff were nice and on top of it.
Erica was an amazing bartender and made our evening.
Bang bang shrimp is the best!!!
Nice place and good people.
Probably the best bar and grill in the UP. The food was great and the service was beyond outstanding. The atmosphere was very relaxed and homey. This was my first in this establishment, but the servers and bar maids made me feel like I was a regular. They all had personality, a sense of humor, wit, and charm. Those are very rare traits you see anymore in the restaurant business. If your in Saulte St. Marie, do yourself a favor and stop into Moloneys Alley for a pint. You will not be disappointed.
Appetizers are to expensive for how much you get. The tables are filthy and not cleaned properly. Looks like years of food built up in the cracks of the tables.
Dont pick the macaroni and cheese its box and its $9 not impressed
Don t get the Reuben. Unless you don t like Reuben s. It s more like a grilled cheese on marbled rye with sauerkraut. I used to come here years ago. It s nothing like it s former self.
Loved our server, Molly, who was helpful in making drink and food recommendations. Old feel, casual atmosphere was perfect for our lunch with friends from Ohio.
We attacked then with an unannounced hockey team. Not only did they exceed expectations on both food quality and service, but the entire staff kept a friendly smile and knocked it out of the park.
Nice little Irish Pub , with a great atmosphere !
Every time were in the UP we try to stop there and eat its fantastic
The service is great here. They serve local beers and have good pub food. The environment is what you would expect with a Irish pub.
Loved the atmosphere of this place , yet the service and food was subpar, you can get a better burger out of BK , and I hate fast food , these guys made a nice building, but the food is not worth a visit
Beef and cheddar was delicious. So we re the dirty chips. Will definitely be back
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options. Food
The perch sandwich was good. Staff seemed friendly.
I had the Maloney fries with a plain burger patty added to it & it was heavenly. My husband had a burger & said his was delicious as well. Had to ask the waitress a few times for the same thing, but she was still very friendly. It was a nice place to play a game of pool too. Will be back for sure when we come into town.
Never fails to impress every time were in town. Try the beef and cheddar with beer cheese. Thank me later.
This was a Irish bar with a college atmosphere. The service was so-so but my hamburger was very good. The french fries extremely soggy. We used to go here years ago and the food service and atmosphere were better than.
Took a while to get food order but had a couple Widow Makers while waiting. Chill setting and great selection of crafts.
We had lunch there at 2 PM. We were the only customers. The drinks and food arrived and that was the last we saw of the server. We needed more salsa and water but the waitress did not come back. So J walked around the bar loop and not only could he not find her, there was no one in the kitchen. We thought they might all be out back smoking. Just as I had Googled their phone number and was calling them, she arrived to ask if we needed anything. On a positive note, the food was good.
Not my favorite environment but I can see why it was a local suggestion. The food was really good and came quick. The service was ok. I believe only the bartender was serving. Im sure in the summer they are packed and likely have several servers and a few bartenders.
Raw burger.
I have been here twice this week, and have been pleased with food on my first visit and drinks my second visit! Love the overall vibe of this bar!! Lots of draft choices! Ill be back for sure!
Molly was fantastic. Food great!!!!
The atmosphere is great. The building definitely has a story to tell. The food was good. It was prepared with quality ingredients and served hot. The server was top notch. She checked on us just the right amount and was super nice. She cleared plates immediately rather then let us sit in front of dirty plates.
The Reubens are delicious. Onion rings were small with a lot of breading. Bang Bang shrimp was decent but have had better. Went here for lunch and recommend trying once.
Worth a look! Food was good, large tap menu...
Waitress was nice, but service was super slow. Waited 20+ mins for our order to be taken, another 30 for the food. Small portions for a $16 meal. Severely disappointed for the service considering it was not busy.
My family had a superb respite with our two dogs while visiting Saulte Ste. Marie. Highly recommend the food and the beer. Service by Haylie was fun and on point! She seemed to be there with a smile whenever we needed her. Well done and highly recommend!
Wonderful staff. Handled late night rush with ease. #HappyAnniversaryToMyBeautifulWifeR A Service : 5/5
One of the usual stops in town for us. Nice decor, have always been great wait staff. Good food, great drink offerings, with some lovely beers in tap. Kid-friendliness: Has some options kids will enjoy
Walked in as we were staying in the hotel across the street. Ordered potato skins as an appetizer .4 pcs no sour cream, had to wait for the waitress to come by and ask her for sour cream. The whitefish basket was underwhelming and tasted like old oil and the fries were worse. Waitress never asked if we wanted another beverage, just seemed to want to hurry and get us out of there which we obliged. She earned a $3 tip and even that was generous for her half azzed efforts. Wont be coming back here again. Terrible service!
Great food and great service! The server gave a good suggestion on what to drink and the atmosphere was great for spending time with friends!
Waitress was very nice and service was great. The food was good but the older lady in the kitchen was complaining about people s orders loud enough that you could hear it through the restaurant and hearing her complaining and swearing brought the experience down quite a bit.
Great Reuben Sammie!
Food was good. Wife had the bacon grilled cheese with avocado. I have the festia chicken wrap. Service was good. Waitress went out of her way to make sure my wife had a fancy drink, as there drink menu menu is limited and all have similar ingredients; oj, vodka, pineapple. Beer selection is decent, although beer could be served colder.
Very good food at a reasonable price.
Had lunch there today food was great not real busy for a Friday. Service was fast and very reasonable for a tourist area. A lot of craft beers but didn t try any.
From the Soo originally and live in the Southern US now. Maloney s is a usual stop for us when in town. Irish pub feel and decent food. Stayed at hotel across the street this time and naturally came in with friends for drinks and food with our families. I made sure the waitress knew we were all one check to keep it easy. The longer we stayed and ate and talked together, the grumpier the server seemed to get. We ordered a second round and when the server brought my wife s wine, she clanked it down hard in front of her and said nothing at all and walked away. She then disappeared for a long time and finally threw the bill down on the table like she wanted us out of there. We paid, tipped her 20% and left. I was disappointed in the lack of service for the money spent. Especially when I thought we were a pretty easy table to take care of. We didn t leave a mess and were courteous and didn t stay over an hour or so with drinks and our food to visit together. I ll give it another go next time in town but was pretty disappointed in the whole experience.
Awesome little pub nice and close to the Soo locks. 7 people in our group, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. They offer lots of on tab beers also!
For a pub on the main street of a tourist area we were pleasntly surprised. The food was great and filling. The prices less than expected. 2 mixed drinks and 2 burgers w fries was about $33 w tax.
Food is mediocre and overpriced, beer is way too expensive, $5.50 for a guiness, gimme a break! The bar maids are really friendly and easy going. Love the atmosphere. Only come here rarely now due to the prices.
We decided to grab dinner out and went here. We were promptly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. Our waitress came and got our drink orders and gave us menus. We started with mild chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly. The outside was crispy and the meat fell off the bone. We also ordered the steak bites which were tender and juicy. They came with a side of horsey sauce for dipping. My husband had the beef and chedder. It had plenty of meat and lots of cheese. I ordered the Irish dip which had meat, onions, mushrooms, and lots of swiss cheese. The bun had crispy edges even when dipped. It had a side of dipping juice. Both sandwiches came with fries. The fries were crispy, hot and delicious. Stop by and enjoy a quick bite to eat.
Drop in for a quick bite to eat. The steak bites were an excellent appetizer. And the grilled cheeseburger was awesome!
Good food, and open later than the other downtown establishments.
Nice place to visit and they have a lounge and serve alcohol in the town of Saulte Saint Marie. Kid-friendliness: They can accomodate children. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped accessible
Across street from Locks. Few outdoor tables to sit and eat with pets
Food was decent , the waitress not so much. She should not be one there . Had to ask twice for the drink menu. Waited until the appetizer was cold and brought out . Never came back around to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. Was not polite at all . She received 0 for her tip . Sorry Service didnt even deserve a single star
Great food
Food was a disappointment, fried pickles were good, but only got about 12 in the order. Famous Ruben was nothing special at all. Wings seemed like they came out of a freezer bag. Seems like a great place, just did not live up to the hype.
I really wanted to love this place because of the cool decor. The huge brick wall & heavy duty picnic tables but the Reuben Quesadilla made me sick. I didnt mention that my beer had something floating in it! My husbands french fries were soggy & cold. Cant really get past the grossness of it all. Im guessing Bar Rescue would have challenges in that kitchen.
We did not eat here, but the drinks were great. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff.
Decent selections of craft beers and good food.
We came here near Halloween. It was so warm and friendly! Such a great vibe inside and everyone was welcoming. Our family of four had dinner and adults had drinks. The food was outstanding! The pretzel beer cheese burger was amazing. The queso dip is delicious as well. Good selection of lager and beer on tap.
Way to loud. Kids playing on pool table late at night.
Ate twice was alright. So many taps full of boring beer though
The food was good but a little expensive for what it was. The service was fast and friendly. You should definately try this place though. Just because my meal was average dont mean they dont do better.
Cant say enough good about it, makes you feel like home.
Horrible service. Horrible food. None of us could believe how bad it was all around. Will never go there again.
As busy as the girls were, they were never rude! Not once!
Loved the atmosphere.
Great service, very busy for a weeknight..... We had fish and fries and they were fine. We had a great red ale also. I wanted to try the southwest salad because it sounded awesome, I should have. The meal was filling - will return in the future.
Absolutely awful. Restaurant was less than half full but we waited over an hour for lunch. We were on a bus tour so couldnt wait. Mixed up our order. Offered a discount but couldnt give me a correct receipt. After 3 wrong receipts, we were getting up to leave. They had boxed our lunches to go. I never got a receipt. As I was leaving, waitress snatched my lunch out of my hands. Manager was the rudest of all. She could only complain about bus tours and told us not to enter come back. We wont.
Good food! I rarely eat all my food. I order a burger and ate the entire thing! Good drinks! Good company! Parking: Lots of parking!
Fantastic food(even the bacon was good and I hate bacon at any restaurant or bar) great drinks and wonderful service! I will be back!
Problems in the kitchen made us wait over an hour for our food. The place was quiet for a lunch hour with a few locals and some travelers coming in. Keep that in mind unless youre in no hurry...
Great food and service.
Good food. Recommend!
Stopped in on a Tuesday evening, light crowd. Great friendly service with helpful suggestions... 20 beers on tap many craft favorites. Food was Very good great flavor combinations... Beer cheese wonderful, Moloneys fries #2 are fantastic! Irish pub sandwich so tender an flavorful... Amazing!! Definitely will go back...
Great food and good atmosphere
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO EAT HERE. This story is decent if you enjoy weird stuff. Some context. My wife and I are travellers and we love to eat out - we love food and new experiences in different places. Michigan has always been phenomenal with the food, the experience and the people. Not here. Weirdest experience Ive ever had at a restaurant and Im 39 years old. We entered this place at 7:45 pm hoping to grab a beer and a bite then hit the bed after 10 hours of driving. We ordered a salad, grilled cheese, pretzels and loaded tater tots. These are items that should take a matter of minutes on a good day, no more than 30 even if youre busy. Fast forward two hours later - our waitress has twice informed us that the kitchen lost our ticket, she brought us 8 cold tater tots with some cheese drizzled on them at one point (8 tater tots? What?) and then, as 9:45 pm rolled around, food had just come to the table next to us, they were open until 11 pm, but she says the kitchen simply refused to make our food and we were never going to get it. We had sat for TWO HOURS watching everyone get food, eat, leave and repeat. Meanwhile, for reasons I cannot comprehend, they were just never going to make our food. We had been nice and understanding, laughing and chatting, even telling our waitress it was fine the first time she told us they lost our ticket and she was rushing out food out. That was at 8:53 pm. We werent rude, we werent angry until we were informed that they just were not ever making our food - the cook just refused to make a salad, a grilled cheese, some pretzels and tater tots for us. I asked to talk to the cook to maybe find out what this jerks problem was and I was told to leave. Our waitress did seem to be trying her best to be apologetic though - there was a point when I got up to find her and she appeared to be yelling at the cook, who was clearly ignoring her, so maybe there was some kind of conflict happening that resulted in no food for us? I dont think well ever waste our time or money in Sault Ste Marie again - so great work, Moloneys Alley kitchen staff. Something tells me nobody there cares - no manager came over to explain it, nothing, so I assume its just a spot who relies on tourists who dont know any better and locals who enjoy waiting. I truly dont write many reviews and I dont wish ill on anyone but I do not believe this place deserves your time or money. Full disclosure, we did get free beers and I happily tossed the finger to the cook on my way out. And we did end up at the bar down the street, ate a Jacks pizza and had a great bartender so all was not totally lost.
Excellent food. Burgers were delicious. Our server Molly was fantastic. Thank You!
Had a party of 13 and the waitress seemed to be annoyed from the time we rolled through the door, so service was not the greatest at all. Had to ask a few times for beers and refills. Food was ok, not very warm on some parts of the meal.
Ordered southwest chicken salad, came to table with nothing it as the menu said, sent back and could hear cook asking for menu to find out what goes in the salad, same doctored salad brought back out and served up, but not good and couldnt eat. Chicken was like some defrosted breaded bad stuff and lettuce somewhat brown, total disaster. When indicating that I didnt think right to pay for the salad, manager was rude and condescending agreeing to only reduce cost from the $14 to $7 dollars. When I complained, she responded that she doesnt want people like us in their bar anyway and to get out. Wow, I never experienced such a rude manager of an eating establishment. My suggestion would be to move on down the road to another bar/eatery.
Nice place...
Went in on a Sunday evening for a simple burger for two of us. Waited for over an hour and no show on Food. This place sucks. If youre going to eat here better ask how long its going to take before your food arrives.. Feel totally Hoodwinked
Fantastic Little Pub. the atmosphere was nice and the staff was very friendly. The staff was scrambling to keep up with the amount of customers but they did an amazing job. the Locals claimed it was one of the best places to get food and a beer and they were correct. The food was nothing crazy memorable but it was very good and was not chain food. I will be back next time I am in town for work again.
We were looking for a good place to eat. The locks tour took 4 hours instead of 2. Hot, hungry and tired, they welcomed us in to a cool table with a million dollar view. I had a patty melt that melted in my mouth. The whitefish was cooked to perfection. The whole family was happy, cool and full. We left with 2 boxes of leftovers, the meals are that generous. Its a stop you should not miss while at the Sault. Prices were very reasonable and the service outstanding, the women working here work hard, are attentive and I would love having a few daughters as sweet as they are.
We were at Dixies Saloon thats part of them. I walked over to check out the bar area to see if it changed much from the last time we had drinks here. The bartender was so very friendly and just started talking to me about the bar, Mackinaw City. Had such a very nice chat. I would recommend this place for friendliness and the drinks.
Picked up lunch for the office and it was outstanding as usual!
Bartender was more concerned with taking care of her guy friends and flirting, then taking care of the rest of the customers in the restaurant. She was messing around on her cell phone, as well. We among other patrons were dissatisfied. We ended up having to leave, because she never submitted our order. After a beer, a piece, we left which were not even comped. Very disappointing, because we really liked that place in the past. Very disappointed!!!
I rarely leave reviews but wuh, this place was awful. Such a super sad thing to have to say for a stunning, historic building and business with so much potential. While I acknowledge it was somewhat busy the food was cold and well below sub par even if we overlooked the cold part and the service also left much to be desired. Maybe it could be considered an understaffing issues or just a REALLY off day but when the waitress came to check us out we hadn t hardly touched our food and didn t say a word about anything - I hate to kick anyone when they are down so we paid $50 + for what we considered two beers and an iced tea and left. -10/10.
Great food!
Somehow messed up a kitty cocktail, asked specifically if appetizer was spicy waitress said no was extremely spicy, menu stated it served beer cheese couldn t have been anything besides nacho cheese, ordered the loaded tots came with eight small disk patty hashbrowns for $12 out of most menu items, was overpriced and under impressed.
Tried to get service at table outside. Waited 10 min then went in and got menus. Another 10 minutes before anyone came to take drink order. Another 10 minutes nothing. Finally left. Both waitress we talked to were bored looking and rude.
The staff worked their a55es off. Busy as heck. Smiled the whole time. Just stopped in for beers and apps. But all was good and they just enjoyed what they do.
1st time visitor. Recommended by desk clerk at Ojibwa Hotel. Food was very good. Service was outstanding. Staff was impressive, never missed a beat. They were both bartender and wait staff on 8/12/22 for the entire restaurant and bar.
Seemed like a cool place. However, the three seemingly hip bartenders were the most morose bunch we ve encountered in recent decades. Not helpful. Not attentive. In a daze. Bored. Sad. Felt like we were in a place that was about to close its doors forever. If you want to be sad, this is the place for you. As an interesting FYI, this has been the first review I have ever been compelled to write.
Great location, spirits, and food.
Absolutely amazing fish and chips. The Guinness on tap was the nectar of the gods and our server Maggie V. was a saint.
Food was very fast and delicious. And they were super busy when we walked.
Stopped in for an appetizer and a beer after being told to pick our own seat we waited 20 minutes before finally just getting our own beer at the bar. It s a Sunday afternoon and not busy at all just lazy servers I guess since they just keep walking around and never even stopping at our table. As a business owner I would probably fire this group for not doing their jobs. Heading to the Mexican restaurant across the street maybe they will bring us a menu at least
Ive ate literally thousands of Reubens all over the country, Maloneys ranks in my top 5 easily... DELICIOUS
My buddies and I needed a vacation from our Mac Island jobs and took a day trip up to the Soo because our one friend has a mild boat fetish okay I digress Molly and Heather were awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable on the beer selection. Food was fantastic and cheap as a stated island escort. Ten stars.
New favorite UP pub. Killer pretzel burger, great local drafts, solid staff despite general industrywide shortages.
Great place service excellent. Great selection of beer food excellent
Nice locally owned business, GREAT food (burgers are awesome!), the waitresses are a little understaffed but do an excellent job and work very well together.
Loved the Grilled Bacon Cheese Burger 10/10.
Just because you have Guiness on tap doesnt make you an Irish pub. The Moleneys fries are relatively blah tasting and extremely salty. The Moloneys fries 2.0 had overdone beef on them that was more like chewing rubber. The perch dinner is small only three filets. There is nothing Irish on the menu not even Guiness Irish beef stew. We were passing through when we saw the Irish Pub sign. We have been to many Irish pubs here in the US and Ireland and were hoping for a Smithwicks with some bangers and mash, cured salmon and soda bread, leak soup or shepards pie at least. Hamburgers and Reubans you can get anywhere. So if your really looking for an Irish pub this isnt it.
Was good all around. Went as recommendation from Facebook. Was good.
Great food and great service. Felt like home.
Four of us enjoyed some great food, a few beers and a wonderful atmosphere!! We return if in the Soo again. Thanks All !!
No one smiled. It was odd. All three bartenders/waitstaff never smiled once. Took a while (10 minutes) to get initial drink service and waited about 30 minutes for average food. Refills? Not happening. Another beer? Nope. We asked and it was forgotten. Shift changed happened and even the new staff never smiled. Why are they so drab?
Great food, cool atmosphere, fair prices and a good amount of beers on tap!
The tomato soup with grilled cheese is great on a cold day! Tried a few items now and the bang bang shrimp made with peanut butter is amazing
Great service, charming atmosphere, and the Southwest Chicken salad was wonderful!
Awsome as usual.
This is great place to go no matter the occasion. Need a meal? Food is great. Looking for a social place to have a drink with friends? Also a top notch place with local michigan brew on tap.
Good experience, will go back!
