Cheft Art is a master in the kitchen and his staff backs him up with A++ hospitality. I can not recommend Antico enough

One of my favourite places to go eat and feel special! Awesome food, delightful music, superior service! Always a warm welcome by the staff, the food is ALWAYS amazing, hot and tasty to perfection. Art knows how to make yummy food, Tammy makes awesome desserts and always has a warm smile. Cathy rocks as a server, as do the other staff!!!! My go to place to get pampered and feel good Thank you Antico for being the best in the Sault.

This was my first time here. I came with my wife for our anniversary dinner and everything was perfect. Its in a bit of an odd location but it works! The vibe inside the restaurant is cosy and intimate. The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back. This is one of the best restaurants in the Soo.

The Chianti was nice! Crostini were stale, escargot sauce was bitter. Portions were half the size they were 6 months ago. Mains were ok, not worthy of the price. The figs with mascarpone were excellent, again portion sizes though, much smaller than earlier... Service was great!

Antico never fails to impress, and is my go-to restaurant when someone visits the Soo for the first time. Even when dealing with a full house, the service is cheerful, very knowledgeable about the menu (including the extensive featured offerings), and prompt when it comes to handling your entire meal. Every time Ive dined here, the chef has made a tour of the dining room, checking in with the diners, and is a constant delight in describing the food, the restaurant, and the artwork that adorns the walls (many painted by himself). The cost does make it a special occasion meal, but the quality of the experience more than justifies the expense.

What a wonderful Italian Restaurant. I truly enjoy the open kitchen. I often eat dinner sitting at the bar. At Antico you can chat with the owner/exceptional Chef. The repast is exceptional. I was in Sault Ste Marie for work. Arturo peppered two different appetizers for that were not on the menu. One was gamberi Arabiata. Shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. The shrimp are the largest I have ever seen. My entree was always created after Arturo and I had a discussion about what he was featuring and what my palate suggested. Always exceptional. I m heading back to the Soo for work soon. I definitely will make Antico a part of this trip. Last trip I was up for four weeks with four visits to Antico. This trip will be the same.

I normally prefer not to post a bad review, however the staff not being of help in certain matters has prompted me to feel obligated to share. The food was average taste wise. The food also happened to be cold upon delivery, at least the hot stuff and the salad had the same temp. The prices truly required a better experience to justify the meal. We also unfortunately had an issue as we had an order that we did not know the contents of as we do not eat out a lot. It happened to have an ingredient that one of us was allergic to. The issue was mentioned and absolutely nothing was done to rectify the matter and we received a bill for the price of a meal that could not be eaten. I will absolutely never go back. I also hope that they learn and improve because that was the worst service I have ever personally had.

Food was cold. None of their menu had descriptions of the food and I was served a menu item I couldnt even eat due to allergies, and they still charged me full price. Offered no other options, no solutions. Waitresses were completely inept and slow. Absolutely never coming here again.

We have been to Antico numerous time and every time it was a delightful culinary experience. The food is always on point and Arturo, his wife and the staff are the cherries on top of the ice cream. Arturo is genuine and clearly passionate about serving others through his wonderful skill as a chef. Cheers to you and our business. My wife and I had dinner at Antico a few weeks ago. First thing: the ambiance of the restaurant is awesome. It feels like youre in the home of someone who loves collecting art. Really cool. Second thing: they know how to make a dirty gin martini CORRECTLY. Third thing: our meal was delicious. I had the osso bucco special, tonnes of flavour and plated really well. Brook had the veal saltimbocca and she said it was perfect. Cool spot in the Soo if youre looking for well-made Italian food.

Very disappointed with our first visit to this restaurant. Seated by the door it was very noisy with the chatter between staff. Food was mediocre. Salad was dosed with salad dressing and inedible.the main course was dry and had a sauce with a kick that was not disclosed. Cleared our own first course plates to the side. Bread was cold and served on a paper napkin. Had to ask repeatedly for water and second cup of coffee and tea. Many of our friends and family have raved about this restaurant. We were sorely disappointed. When the owner asked how our meal was we said so so and he walked away! Luckily we had a gift card. Left the restaurant hungry!

the food reminds me of home

Excellent dinner, worth the wait, everyone enjoyed their meals (2 adults, 1 teen and a child). A bit loud in there, I would recommend adding a bit of sound absorbing material like acoustic panels.

Celebrated my daughters birthday at Antico 2nite. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. The service was exceptional as was the food. Delicious doesnt adequately describe our dining indulgence. I highly recommend you take the Antico experience.

The special of the day was mussels and escargot (which I hadnt tried before) the sauces were out of this world, I mopped up every last bit! We got the name of Antico from our AirBnB host. We were celebrating a birthday and the meal was for for the occasion. The mussels and escargots were brilliant and their sauce was finger licking good. The Risotto and the gnocchi were divine. The chef came and chatted with us giving us a very welcoming feel. Service was top notch. We will be back.

Ravioli! Ravioli! Ravioli!

Oh dear this restaurant I gave it a 2 star because the service was great but the food was bad. It was recommended from the hotel we stayed in. There was a wedding that evening while we pick up our food. I order fettuccine alfredo with chicken, penne arrabiata and ravioli. First the fettuccine didn t have the chicken and its tasteless, arrabiata sauce looks and taste from the canned tomatoes, ravioli I ll stop right now. I have been to many Italian restaurants but this was I don t know for a $100 worth of food we should have gone to a chinese restaurant. We end up buying subway sandwiches that evening. we throw away the food that s how bad it was.

What a disappointing meal. :( Made reservations for 2 on the patio for today (Monday) and asked ahead of time if it was cold out, if we could be moved inside. They said it would be absolutely fine. Got there today; there was one table seated inside and one outside. We asked if we could please sit inside since it was cold. They said no. Only because we insisted, they gave us a table inside. We were there for 1.5 hours and there were 2 free 4-top tables inside the entire time we were there. The hostess made us feel unwelcome and as if we were an inconvenience. I suppose we were deemed unworthy for some reason or another for a table indoors, when there were in fact plenty. We will not be returning on account of the terrible service the moment we entered the restaurant and the elitist attitude. Save your money and go to Quattro!!! Lobster ravioli is much better!

My fiance and I had the best meal in a long time at Antico! The servers were super knowledgeable and the chef came out to check on us. When he was at our table he explained how he made some of our favourite dishes. Although he made it sound easy I know that the food would have taken a long time to prepare. The layers or flavour were unbelievable!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!

What a wonderful spot to make memories with your family. My foodie cousin was very excited to make reservations and introduce us to this spot while we visited the Soo. The service was so friendly and very helpful. We had 10 people and had a blast! Bottles of wine on the table, antipasto and every scallop dish on the menu (and specials). The presentation and taste! Wow! I had the featured seafood risotto...not a single grain of rice was left. Im not a huge risotto person because it can often be dry or too rich. This was perfection. It was fresh, light but full of flavour. And the gorgeous lobster tails didnt hurt ;) My mom had the gnocchi dish....wow again!

The owner and chef, Art, was extremely friendly and made amazing food! The waitress Cathy was also super friendly and gave fantastic service. I would recommend anyone to visit Antico for authentic Italian cuisine!

Best food ever!!! Amazing service. I m about 3 months late on my review but I still think of this place. Stopped here on our cross country travels. My 6 year old said it was the best spaghetti he has ever had and that I need to learn to make that way. Lol. Would highly recommend to anyone.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of eating here on Wednesday. It was the best service we ve ever experienced. Our waiter Brandon was a delight and really attentive. The food was amazing. The chef heard we were from out of town and came out to see how we were enjoying the food! Totally worth every penny. This place really is a hidden little gem! We will definitely be returning and recommending to anyone in the area.

Ive eaten here a few times and loved it, but by far the best meal Ive had was was this past Winter, March 2019... It was a Wednesday evening, so not packed, there was an Octopus Salad special for starters and a Lamb Shank with my name on it. Seriously, probably one of the best Lamb main courses I have ever eaten! Fall of the bone delicious and the pasta! I defy anyone to complain about the pasta! Excellent!

We just ate there and we loved everything about this place. The service was amazing. So much so that the chef/owner came over just after we sat down to suggest that he prepare a quick penne with tomato sauce for our five year old son because he overheard that we had just travelled from Sudbury and he knew that he would be hungry and out of sorts. Everything that we ordered was excellent. I especially like the fig appetizer. We will definitely return the next time that we are in the Soo.

This restaurant is the hidden gem of Sault Ste. Marie. Chef Arturo is clearly very passionate about his work and his restaurant. Very personal experience dining here. Weve been on several occasions now and the the owner has always come out to thank you us for coming and have a chat. This time for my birthday my wife had called ahead and asked him to simply feed us. Him and his excellent wait staff served us a personalized multi course meal that was unique and absolutely phenomenal. Though our five visits here so far we have had everything from a balsamic duck with beets to lobster ravioli to a fig and prosciutto appetizer and the best tiramisu I have ever had. Never once have we had a meal or a waitress, bartender, or other staff that has been anything less than excellent.

Always a pleasure to go back and see Art. A place to go for a beautiful meal prepared with love and care. Hospitality at it s best.

Visited Antico for our anniversary a few months ago and we had a very enjoyable experience. We had never been there before and decided to do a menu tasting. It wasnt a busy night so the owner was able to come out and talked to us about what we would like to try and what we liked/disliked already (to avoid). He timed all the dishes out perfectly, recommended a wine pairing, and it was just so pleasant and welcoming. All the food was AMAZING, the best meal we ever had. We felt like family at the end, as he walked us to the door, shook our hands and thanked us for coming in. I am going there for a family birthday tomorrow and I am so excited. The best restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie.

Fantastic as always

Calamari was rubbery and hard to eat. The server stopped smiling halfway through like she was annoyed by something. Lobster ravioli only had maybe 5 ravioli in it...salad was pretty small. If we didnt have the appetizer I probably would have left hungry. My boyfriend really enjoyed his chicken parmigiana though. Not sure it was worth the $100

I am from Chicago. I went up to Canada for a few hours after the mini on the Mack event in Michigan. I found this on yelp and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Salad was nice and crispy with home dressing. Calamari was crispy and tasty. I had the chicken with beef ravioli. Beef ravioli was so flavorful! Chicken was tender and fully cooked. The sauce it was cooked in permeated throughout. It was truly enjoyable. The building looks like a house that the first floor was remodeled into a restaurant. Do not let it detract you. The food is top notch. Meals range from $20-$35. Not cheap, but the flavor of the food and service are great.
