113 Gore St, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 1L9, Canada
A cozy Scottish pub with Scottish fare.Come join us for your favourite pint and relax in our laid-back atmosphere.
Our server was Rick and he took good care of us! Rick's knowledge and his kilt was a hit! We want to come back for live music nights. The food was really good and there was a good selection of tasty beers! Cheers.
A tipsy Finn and I were looking for food. He randomly suggested the Whisky Barrel. A friend of his works there he says! We arrived. I thought, "A bar? I trust the Finn. Let's go see what's inside!" We were warmly welcomed with open arms and offered seats. Looking at the menu, we weren't sure what to order, but we asked the friend for a suggestion. The fish and chips were offered to us. Being both fans of fish, we agreed. After a good conversation, our food arrived. Crispy, flaky, and out of this world, fish and chips. With perfectly seasoned fries. A sauce to accompany our meals came with the main course. "It's so good!" said the Finn. I agreed. It was. The ambiance, the music, and the people around us complained about airplanes made our night one of fun and amusement. We have to come back! We both said. And we shall! See you soon, Whisky Barrel!
Good food for good price, best value in town. The restaurant had live band performance at night. Good vibe for a drink. The beers were pretty good. Best pub in town!!!
Delicious Scottish fare sampled included Shepherd’s Pie and Haggis ‘n Nips. The collection of whiskeys available to sample was astounding. Staff were very friendly and courteous
Excellent food and great beer selection. Rick did a great job recommending their number one dish which was fish and chips. Make sure to go there hungry because the portions are huge. Definitely worth the money. We ordered fried pickles for appetizer. We will definitely go back next time we’re in the area. We drive from Michigan to go there.
Super friendly staff, great service, nice atmosphere. Good beer. Food was hyped up to be amazing but it was kind of average and the mashed potatoes under the scotch egg were cold. Hope to give it another try sometime.
Service was friendly and has a home pub welcoming vibe! The food portion was very generous, staff is very knowledgeable on Whiskey (duh!) with a very good selection as well. Would love to return if we come back to this area for visit. We visited on a weekday, so it was easy to find street parking but not sure how weekend would be.
It all started with a trip to Sault Ste. Marie, but then it became obvious "let's go to Canada". After a few tense moments at the border and the kind words and assistance of border agents we made our way into our home and native land. Impressed by the vast wetlands, the presence of United Steel Workers, and even more so the robust and rich vibes of the city. Though I will not discount the clear problems the town has, as a resident of the industrial Midwest it was not uncommon to me. We made our way to this fine establishment on a whim, without any prior knowledge, we entered as it opened at 4 Pm and we're immediately greeted and seated by the one, the only Rick a music head who was more than happy to talk about his travels and his musical interests that meddled well, having the entire establishment to ourselves. I found myself ordering a Scottish lager as per recommended (Innis and Gunn Lager) it was cold refreshing and one of the first beverages I had ever had at the bar to fill me with a sense of humor and further interest. I proceeded to order a deep fried pickle basket which was richly seasoned and well crisped in the fryer. It was gone almost instantly as per Compatriot B and her beauty. My fellows ordered water and the rich and barely noticeable Thorn Berry blood orange cider, of which I had a tiny sip that came across to me as only being passingly alcoholic but still impressed. Finally the main course came with a delectable fish and chip which I'm still salivating at the thought of, and a portion of the Shepards pie which absolutely finished me and had me begging my mother for forgiveness at it's flavor and complexity. The burger was good, but my Compatriot J had little in the way of words that I had to describe it's flavor. "The BLT was good" -Compatriot B I finished all of this flavor off with a Northern Superior 11pm Dark Lager which was indicative of Guinness but with a sharper and lighter taste. Just as 11 pm was sharp, so was our Bartender Rick who was with the most amount of compassion and kindness gave us a fantastic experience and I only have good things to say about him, I hope to one day come back through (Sundays-Tuesdays) and check back up on him. I came away with a full belly, a clear head, and a couple band recommendations which I listened to on the way back to my home. In solidarity all, please give your patronage to this fine establishment and may the Scottish soon find independence.
Queer-friendly and a great vibe. Bartenders are all very kind. Rick was very nice and welcoming.
Incredible service, with a unique and welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!
Rick is the man! Ill be back for sure!
Scotch eggs were awesome.
This place is delicious. Had the fried mushrooms, the Scotch egg, the fish and chips, and the Whisky iced cream. Everything was delicious, and made super fresh. I would 100% come back here.
Great location. Even better vibe. Ricks recommendation of the fish and chips was spot on. Had a great selection of beer and even better selection of whisky. Hope to make it back. Highly recommend you go!
Beer is great, friendly and fast service. Love it. The design of the taps is awesome. Definitely bringing the crew here
Mmm... beer Mmm... fish & chips Food
Cozy atmosphere, super busy with tourists. The server recommended the deep-fried pickles so I ordered them, expecting them to be beer-battered, as described on the menu. They were horrible; barely a dusting of overly salted seasoning. Hopefully this was an off batch.
Only a cocktail and beer, but live music made the atmosphere a good vibe!
Ordered the fish and chips and one drink ea. Wine and draft. The fish was awesome. Fries dusted in paprika. Came to $76.00 for 2 with 15% tip.
Tues evening. Bartender pulling bar/server/host/busser duty .. Bar service touch n go . Heavily recommended multiple items we didn t want. From food to drinks. Decent offerings, if you want to be told what to have. Would not recommend to a bloke.
Live, local, band was quite good. i was not able to stop in for a bite and/or a beverage this last time... But will definitely be back.
Evertytime Ive been here, its been top notch. One of the best spots in the Soo.
Awesome place
Great bar, good music and food, service is friendly. Rick took great care of us. Unpretentious and cozy. Chips and curry are This is my favourite bar in the city and they re open late on weekends.
Great food, great service. Love the atmosphere.
Cozy atmosphere and knowledgeable bartenders.. what more to ask for
Great food, service and excellent staff. Great place for a quick meal or cold one. Large selection of spirits and beer.
Good food and beer selection at a reasonable price.
What a meal! If you are in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, be sure to visit The Whisky Barrel. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming and the service by Shawn was perfect.
Scotch Egg was awesome, so as the server at the bar.
The atmosphere of the place is what gets to me the most. The bar is amazing, the lounge section is chill, and the barkeeps are creme of the crop. The music (both live and ambient) fits perfectly....I really cant compare the place to anywhere else, its got its own uniqueness
Great bar, Rick is an awesome dude!
Awesome service, and great food.
5 with an asterisk. A great pub, very friendly service, small talk with the bartenders, recommendations on beers and food. In the end, the recommendations of G&I Tequila Blonde and the Shepards Pie convinced us. A pub that runs the risk of sinking here. Large whiskey selection.
Comfortable relaxing meal. We had Bangers and mash and fish and chips. Both were good. Rick was our waiter and good conversation.
We enjoyed our beer flights with a very good selection of local beers! Our group had the Scotch Egg, Bangers and Mash and fish and chips. All meals were excellent! When in the Sault, you should drop by enjoy the drinks and food and live entertainment too! The servers were amazing and attentive as well!
Meals were great and great selection of beers
The patron was very helpful and friendly. He made our experience special
I miss echo, bring her back. She made the whole bar!!!
Echo made the atmosphere such a fun place, since she s been gone it hasn t been the same.
I was a new customer and had echo as a server and she was a wonderful server. However, next time I came to the restaurant I was told she no longer worked there and was disappointed with the service, they were slow and not as nice.
Went to escape barrel with high expectations, especially after watching a video advertisement. We were very excited about getting to the store. We went inside the atmosphere was not too bad. The waiter set us at a high table because there wasn t any other tables left except by the window. it was great took our order brought us what we wanted her drinks Then the problem said it was 45 minutes and we still hadn t been served three other customers were served in front of us that came after us. The waiter apologize profusely. About only having one cook back there. That didn t cut it with us. After a short conversation With the waiter. We left without our meal and without paying anything. We was great, very disappointed overall.
Great food and drinks!
Awesome fish and chips and great service!
Great place to go for a drink. Love the selection of whiskeys. Menu was a bit limited.
Great food, drinks and service!!! Definitely a must go!
Phenomenal food, great service and ambiance. Ricky is awesome. 10/10 experience. Fish and chips is the best in town!
ricky was a great help to figure out what to see in the city!!! of course the food was amazing, too. dill pickle dip was particularly delicious
Had a great meal and wonderful service from our server and bartender, Rick.
Rick is an amazing bartender. Did the Circle Tour and glad I found this place!
Rick is an absolute gem of a bartender, we had a great night. The fish and chips is great!
First time here for an early dinner with some friends. Server was excellent, attentive and gave perfect suggestions for food and beverages. Bangers and mash was excellent- better than what Ive had in the UK! Fish and chips were excellent. Bartender made fresh lemonade for two ladies even though it wasnt on the menu. Would definitely come back.
The food and service is very very good and authentic I spent 13 years in the United Kingdom and this food is better. Atmosphere is great and bar tenders are always great!!!!!
Ricky is the man
Great cozy little spot for whiskey, beer, and good eats. Rick helped extend our whiskey palettes and was a treat to talk to; great taste in tunes as well! The fried pickles were very good when we switched to beer; even though many of the taps were out after a busy weekend, there was still plenty of good stuff to try. Vegetarian options: A handful of vegetarian options but no vegan mains.
First time in town and had an awesome experience. Great hospitality from Ricky aka Seamus drinks and food were fantastic. Love the atmosphere!!
Excellent service! Exceptional chef! We had a very enjoyable evening.
We visited the Whisky Barrel in early July 2024. It is a small Pub with great pub decor. Ricky was our server/bar tender, and he recommended a Innis and Gunn Lager which was very good. We had the deep fried pickles as an app. My wife had the fish and chips and I had the bangers and mash. the pickles are the scalloped chip variety, so you get lots in a basket. They were a bit greasy overall, but had good flavour. The bangers and mash was good. The mashed potatoes are excellent and I would definitely have them again. The gravy was very thick, but had a good flavour. The bangers were nothing special, but enjoyable. The Fish and Chips was huge! My wife gave me a piece of the fish as you get three pieces. It was very good. The chips are very chunky and have a nice seasoning on them. Overall it was a good experience. There is only seating for about 30, so check ahead if at a busy time!
Ricky served us up right. The beer and cider selections were excellent. Vegetarian options: Curry fries, neep and tatties soup Kid-friendliness: Barrel root beer for the kids + great burger and fish options
Dog friendly seating outside
Perfect place for a weary traveler to rest and enjoy a pint! Ricky was great company. Stop in, stay a while. Fish and chips was amazing
My son-in-law is from Glasgow. I decided to make him jealous by taking pictures of the Whiskey Barrel menu. Success! The food at this restaurant is seriously superb. Though Sault Ste Marie shows signs of pandemic fall-out, Whiskey Barrel is 5 yrs old and going strong. In the cold months, this place seats only 28, so call ahead for the best time to arrive on a weekend.
A good selection of beer.
Wonderful! Great food, service and drinks. Scotch Egg, Shepherds Pie, Caesar Salad, craft beer, gin and whiskey all top notch.
This is a welcoming and captivating establishment. A warmly lit, traditional setting that felt no less than cozy as promised. Its a short walk from GFL Memorial Gardens. The service was notably vibrant, thanks to Shawn, who made the visit memorable with his top-notch dessert suggestion. The Shepards Pie with lamb was an enjoyable surprise as I rarely eat that kind of meat but will definitely be more inclined to do so now after this. Its a place that promises comfort and camaraderie. I look forward to going back next time Im invited out for dinner. Thanks guys!
Very Clean super fish and chips the best ever service and he repaired my sister purse for free!!!! Great Place !!
Excellent food and service! Highly recommend!
Arrived about 10mins before their kitchen closed (we didnt realize their closing time on google differed from the kitchen times) and the chef greeted us and said they could accommodate dinner for two, we were very thankful after a long days drive. The food was hot, tasty and just what we needed. We enjoyed their pickles, bangers & mash and shepards pie. Friendly server and good drinks selection, especially spirits & beers.
Best Fish and Chips. Wonderful ambiance and the service was exceptional! Will be back for sure!
Awesome Beer Friendly Staff Background music not too loud to have a conversation Service : 5/5
Wonderful place, outstanding traditional Scottish (and other) pub food. Delightful staff and great ambiance. Great selection of beer and cider and whiskey
Great place to have a couple beers, comfortable seating and attentive staff.
Hidden Gem in the Soo! If you love pubs and great whisky, this is the place. A must stop if youre in Sault Ste Marie! The warm and inviting decor match the quality of the service and the food. Rick, our server/bartender helped us enjoy a great pub night out. Complete with local beer, unique whiskies and fantastic food suggestions. Bonus points for being such an old school hospitality pro and for the great ideas for our upcoming East Coast trip. Thanks Rick! Do not miss a chance to hang out with him and down a shot of Tullamore DEW, pint of Muskoka Stout and basket of spectacular Fish & Chips!
Coolest place ever! Staff were friendly and had amazing food recommendations. The fish and chips were great, as well as the deep fried pickles. Good selection for beer on tap! Next time you are in town, stop in you won t regret it.
The food was just honestly really bad and expensive. Portions were small, but the sides of very undercooked fries were big. It also took an hour for food to arrive. The waiter was also behaving really creepily towards my friends and even touched my friends back. Also made a comment about us wanting to hug him on the way out and overall ignored our discomfort.
Rick was very friendly and good to chat with. Great music. Would recommend!
Fantastic Fish & Chips that hit the spot perfectly! Both the fish and the fries were very fresh tasting and seasoned well. Great place to grab a bite to eat and drink, either on your own or with friends! They also make a damn fine Negroni!
Great drinks, chill atmosphere. Try the scotch egg and the fried pickles. Soooo good!
A friendly neighborhood watering hole not to be missed on a visit to Sault Ste Marie. The fish and chips are as good as advertised, no, better. The service and patrons couldn t be friendlier.
Great place. Great Servers Food amazing
Had a fabulous dinner here tonight with my husband and brother. Really enjoyed the warm olives, bangers and mash, as well as the scotch pie. I am celiac and dairy intolerant and they modified my bangers and mash meal to perfectly meet my dietary restrictions. Incredible meal and service!
What a great little spot. Had the bangers and mash. So so good.
Great atmosphere, great service. Friendly staff. Limited menu with average food.
A proper place for a drink and live music with your friends. Great selection of beers on tap and whiskey/bourbon. Love the use of old oak barrels as decor throughout the interior. Servers are friendly and lively. Make sure to say hi to Pete!
First time with friends that have been before. So good! Highly recommend!
My wife and I go here all the time. Awesome staff, great tunes and the food and beer selection is awesome. Tonight we tried the scotch egg with my sister and brother in law.
All around great!
Awesome fish and chips - a solid choice if you re looking for authentic pub food in a cozy atmosphere.
Nice little pub with great service.
Very personal oriented Scottish atmosphere.
Great food and a great server
i forgot to ask the bartenders name who let me warm up and wait for my cab to arrive...thank you!
Super nice little pub. The Scottish inspired food was really tasty. It was a great place to relax and get some food after a long day of skiing.
The Soo is just a town. But Echo at the bar makes this place something else special.
Came from Michigan for a day and found this place on google, probably one of the best places my husband and I have ever found. We got the fried mushrooms that were amazing. Some damn good fish and chips that we couldn t eat fast enough. And the blood orange cider they had on tap was the best I ve ever had .. I m going to have dreams about that cider. Amazing. My husband and I are already talking about going back someday. 1000/10 recommend
Such a cool little spot. The drinks are good. Service is great. Ambience is best in the Soo.
Amazing staff...excellent selection of Whiskey, plus a wide variety of Beer on tap. Food available as well!
Bangers and mash was delicious, cool atmosphere and friendly staff, I highly recommend!
Great scotch selection...Was very happy to see Zirkova vodka from ukraine being served until i was told its being replaced ...do better, jesus
Just visited the Whiskey Barrel Friday Feb 17. The food was excellent the Leek Potatoe soup was amazing as was the scotch egg. Cocktails taste and look great too! Plus they had a nice little band that came in around 8pm. This place is great.
If you re looking for a cozy place to wind down at the end of the day with a pint and some comfort food this is the place to go. Excellent atmosphere, fabulous staff, terrific food, damn good drinks.
Delicious food. Great service.
Great food and awesome service
Best deep fried pickles
Food was good, staff friendly and decor interesting. Just wondering whats wrong. It was 7:00 pm on a Thursday night and we where the only customers. There where three people at the bar when we got there. They finished their drinks and left. Also not good for customers to see staff bringing in takeout food for themselves!
You gotta try the mushy peas. You will not be disappointed
Delicious!
Wonderful meal - had Scottish egg with paprika potatoes & Caesar salad.. delicious! Had a good selection of beer to choose from - ice cold. Our waiter (1st day on job) was very attentive, friendly & efficient. We also chatted with another waiter about recommendations for our Trans-Canada Highway trip... The only downside was that we say outside on a sidewalk patio which was very noisy. All in all, would definitely recommend!
Service was nothing short of exceptional. The drinks recommendation (whiskey) was highly appreciated. The ambiance is the best. 1000% recommended!
Whisky Barrel is a small local establishment, but that doesnt mean it lacks the elements for you to enjoy a delightful time. From the outside, it may not seem like a very attractive place, but once you step inside, youll realize that youre in a spot with the traditional decor of a Scottish-style bar, with a touch of Canada and the city of Sault Ste Marie. The food is good, the portions are generous, and the presentation is pleasant. They offer a sufficient variety of dishes, including salads, soups, and some traditional favorites like fish and chips or the classic hamburger with fries. The drink options are plentiful, not only in terms of whiskey variety but also in the selection of craft beers. If you enjoy bold flavors, you should go for the Stout beers, but if youre looking for something sweeter, they have a great variety of artisanal ciders. And if youre unsure, a flight is your best bet to try a little bit of everything. On certain occasions, you can even enjoy live music or special celebrations. This place is perfect for a date, a gathering with friends, or a delicious meal after work. Lastly, the prices are fair, and some might even say they are quite competitive.
The beer option was excellent. We did try a whiskey. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed when we went. Would go again
Amazing place. Food is delicious, I had Roquefort pasta and it was so good. Attention is great too, waitress are really friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Food
Great place, great service.
The husband and I had dinner here tonight, our very first time. Great service as soon as we walked in the door. Absolutely loved the dill Pickle soup!! We will definitely be coming back. Food : 5/5 |
Great food, healthy portions, reasonably priced, and very friendly service. Nice to find a little taste of Scotland to feed my heritage. Definitely will be back to try more.
Fun time great music, loved it. I didnt eat & the cooler on tap was great!
We will definitely be back! The fried pickles and the fish and chips were amazing!! The best I ve had. We ve been driving around Lake Superior and this is the BEST restaurant we ve ate at in the past 5 days. Ricky was awesome and his recommendations on food and drinks was spot on. 5 stars all the way around.
Love the atmosphere! Friendly staff and cool vibe to the place. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening
Good fish and chip.
We had a great experience at the Whiskey Barrel. From the ambiance to the beer and whiskey selection to the food, everything was on point. I had the potato leek soup which was excellent. Also got to have their fish and chips which were well cooked, and seasoned to perfection. The chips were spicy, which I love. We also shared a fried mars bar which was delicious. Thanks to Rick for taking such great care of us. Should our travels bring us back to the Soo, well definitely be back. Thanks for such a great experience.
Service was definitely the highlight - server was friendly and attentive. Nice selection on tap and we really enjoyed the patio. The food was good, probably would try something different next time but overall was a good place for a quick bite and a cold beverage on a hot summer day.
Its a fun pub, people are friendly service was great. Highly recommend visiting.
God the food was good. The service was amazing. Rick was awesome
Great and unusual place. Very attentive and efficient bartender/waitstaff. He was the only server there and ran his kilted butt off and managed to be engaging and fun while taking care of the whole place. Food was great. I had the shepherds pie. I love that they offered a smaller version. And had keets
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, great recommendations on what to order. The Mac & Tyre cheese was delicious!!
Surprised by the high reviews that this place received. Was looking forward to sampling some Scottish fare, but it was really disappointing. The server was very friendly, washrooms were clean, but thats as far as it went. My husband had the fish and chips, which according to the server would be the best he ever tasted - well they were just OK. I had the shepherds pie. It was the size of a microwave dinner and it was 3/4 mashed potato. The filling, FWIW, was tasty, but was overwhelmed by the potato. Not recommended
Went with a friend had a great time , food atmosphere and service was excellent . Ricky our waiter was second to none. Highly recommend.
Dinner Thanksgiving Monday -- awesome fish n chips and a few drinks. Whisky selection is great, and prices are decent.
Great food Great service... nice place to be
Good choice of beer and whiskey. Very kind owner!
Great little find in the Sault. Atmosphere, service and whiskey/bourbon/cocktail selection is top notch. Didnt stay to find out, but told the place gets hoppin from 11pm-2.
Great atmosphere, food was incredible, and highly recommend a visit for a pint or a flight.
Our server Rick was a wonderful host. His menu recommendations were spot on. Nice ambiance and great service. Food was excellent and plentiful. We will definitely be back. There are so many great choices on the menu. Three thumbs up Wheelchair accessibility: They have a portable ramp they can put out so you can wheel in
Service was good and very welcoming, but my fish and chips were disappointing.
Been here twice! Always a great atmosphere with friendly service. Food was spot on. Both times was after driving across the country and never let down by this place.
Best french fries in town.
Best fries in town.. you have to try them
Makes a pretty mean lemon drop
We had a great St Paddys celebration Good food good drinks great atmosphere
Great atmosphere, service, drinks & food!
We were just passing through town. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming. Make sure to get the fried mushrooms!
Amazing Food, Great Service, Fun Place and Exceptional Value
Great selection of whisky and tasty meal!
Amazing prace, but the prices is not low.
Good place to hang out. The staff are very polite. Good customer service
A delightful spot with a delightful host! Thoroughly recommend. ^_^
Will most definitely be going back again and again!!
Definitely have to try the St.Joseph long Island ice tea and if Echo is working your night will be so much better she is the bomb so make sure you get a round for the staff lol. The food is excellent as well you will be blown away.
Good vibes everywhere, excellent service beautiful people.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious food, and a good selection of whiskeys.
Had a lovely evening here for a friends birthday. Sampled a few off the draft list via a flight, took a couple shots of some delicious whiskeys, and even had a peanut butter and jam tasting cocktail. This place has been many different venues but they nailed it with this one.
Great atmosphere, great beer
Great place with great food and drink.
Super friendly staff. Quiet and Cozy environment.
Amazing place.. amazing ppl in the bar.. super cool ambience. A happening place
We had the fish and chips And deep fried pickle Rick was a great bartender
My buddies enjoyed their drink here, we actually stayed above this pub in an airbnb and it was nice to chat with the patrons on our way out to town and it wasnt too loud
Great night of live music, great beer and wonderful food. The service was also amazing!!!!
Great selection of whiskey bourbon and scotch
Great ppl. Great Service, Great music.
In town for 2 days, ate our dinners here. Enjoyed dunbar, very friendly. Food was awesome, the scotch egg was yummy. Loved the blood orange cider. See you next time!!
What a wonderful environment! Very friendly and attentive staff and great food. Live show on this day, which made it even better. I strongly recommend it!
Nice patio.
We stopped to SSM overnight while driving to GTA from Winnipeg. We were exhausted and hungry, but didn t want to go out. We ordered takeout from the Whiskey barrel. It had good reviews online so we decided to order. My sons meal was supposed to come with a salad. That was left out and cost $20. I ordered the BLT. The bun was stale and tasted like cardboard. Not even toasted. That was $15. Very small portions. Total bill for 4 was $70 and a disappointment, especially when you ve been travelling all day and wanted a good meal. First And last time they get my business. Huge disappointment!
They make the best Whisky Sour I ve ever had
Great music, good food and very good beers and wiskies. Just what we needed after a 8-hour drive :) We had a great time!
Great service, very clean establishment, and good food. Nice pub to go for a pint or just to relax and have a nice dinner. Walking distance from hotels. Not sure on what parking is like. Recommend for sure
Google for the win. Highest rated establishment in the area. Did not disappoint!!
Great atmosphere, decent selection, friendly staff, and the good isnt bad either.
Was in the Soo for a few days, and I had supper there 3 days in a row: friendly staff, great food, good location. Warmly recommended!
A bit noisy at the next table.
From the moment we walked into this pub we loved it! Great atmosphere, and very attentive and very friendly staff! Ricky our waiter went above and beyond and was by far one of the best hosts I have ever encountered! Not to mention, the food was incredible! If you re ever in the Sault Ste Marie downtown area, I highly recommend this pub!
Great food & loved our server.
Great service, food, and bevvies
An unexpectedly great dinner and great conversation with neighboring tables.
We loved this eclectic little pub! It was the perfect end to a day on the Algoma Canyon train, and in easy walking access to the station. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff equally so. Sadly, haggis wasnt available during our visit, but the fish and chips were excellent. They carry a wide selection of whiskeys and beer and the cosy little corner snug is the perfect spot for dessert and a nightcap. This little pub is reason enough to visit the Soo!
Super fun, great service, tasty food. Will be back!
Great atmosphere and whiskey selection. The fish and chips taste wonderful and the popcorn mussel is so good. Wonderful place for some English food in a lively environment.
This is really and excellent little snug! The food, the drinks, and the staff are all really wonderful We will visit anytime we get up to The Soo, for sure
Fantastic food. Wide selection of local craft beers that are actually good! and not some pretencuous hoppy cheap. Service is friendly and all around stellar!
Great food, great drinks, great people!
Went with my husband for lunch. We ve never had mussels and mushrooms made this way before. It was absolutely delicious and the scotch was one of the best we ve tried. Great job whiskey barrel!
Excellent selection of whisky from around the world! Fish & Chips was spot on. Service was excellent. Great evening out with an old friend. 5 stars.
Good food. Good host. Doesnt disappoint!
I will say this is the first place i have been that had only ladies in the kitchen and on the front of house and amazing best group ever and the server was awesome as hell will be back for sure
Excellent place to eat and drink something at night with friends. Cozy environment,
