I absolutely loved the beautiful woodworking they have in the dining area. The food was hot and tasted good, and the gravy was delicious with my fries and chicken burger.

The food was absolutely amazing the staff are great but did not seem to be happy.

Last time my gf and I ate here she ha6s food poisoning. Stopped going for over a year. Went in today and both our meals were wrong and they forgot items such as sausage links, only to bring these ones out. Also was in there for over 2 hours for breakfast. The waitresses are so overloaded running around they dont have time to ask if your meal is correct or not.

Chummy s burger was top notch, exactly what i need from a burger, all the fried stuff were delicious too. Well done chefs.

Food is always consistently good here, service attentive, great menu, lots of selection. All day breakfast except Fisf Fry days (I think Thursdays & Fridays, check their website to confirm). Their turkey club has real roast turkey, none of that cheap deli sliced stuff.

Had fish (pickeral) and fries cole slaw. Four big slabs of Pickeral and couldnt eat it all. But thats the same with almost anything you get there. The bakery items are fresh and some of the best. They do a great job and the service is the best.

One of my top places to eat. Friendly staff, amazing carvings and atmosphere, and great prices. Food is always good and great butter tarts. You have to eat here.

Went here today (Sunday) for my sisters birthday (its also fathers day) we expected to be busy which is understandable for Fathers Day we got there at 9:05. But not once did our server check up on us, no refills on drinks, especially being there for 2 hours. 1 hour waiting for food, food was wonderful worth the wait, but she just quickly dropped off the food and we didnt even get a chance to ask her for refills, she did not check how we were doing with the food when we got it. We then waited 30+mins for any server to come close to us for us to ask for a takeout container and to ask for our bill. The Busser had already taken our plates and mugs. We had our coats on waiting; it was 10:52 when she arrived asking if we were ready to pay. I understand how stressful this morning has been but I just wish the server was a bit more attentive.

Went for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. Was taken to our table and immediately given coffee. Waited 20 minutes to place our order then waited another 40 minutes for food that never arrived. At 40 minutes since sitting at the table, our server who only saw us to take the order said our food was just a couple minutes from being ready. So we continued to wait. 20 minutes later, the food still hadnt arrived so we decided to leave. We asked to pay for the coffee and they told us our food was now ready and we could take it to go if we wanted the food. We politely declined and they didnt charge us for the coffee and gave us an apology. This is not the first time I have been out on the back burner. We noticed people come in and leave during our wait which just infuriated me. I will not go there anymore. They simply cant handle the rush on the weekends. I would avoid eating here for breakfast on the weekends.

They didnt bring our food out together and then I noticed they didnt put cheese on my burger and there wasnt much gravy my cheese on my poutine wasnt melted. The person I was with was half done their meal by the time the waitress noticed me waiving. When I explained there was no cheese and asked for a bit more gravy she said she would take it have it fixed and would put it in to go containers. I was there for my birthday lunch and wasnt given the option to eat in the restaurant I felt kicked out. I had wanted to order desert and I have a head injury so I dont get out much I didnt even have time to finish my pop. Then when I got home and opened my cold food to eat I noticed she just put the food from my plate in the box they didnt put the cheese, ketchup or more gravy. I couldnt eat my food when home it was too dry. My birthday was ruined. I was in tears when leaving and told the waitress I wanted to eat my birthday lunch in the restaurant with the person I was with and she ignored me. Dont waste your money going to this establishment.

Awesome friendly service l. Got my food in 29 minutes. Loved the savoir pulled pork and crispy fried. Definately recommend this restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp and enough space to accommodate a wheelchair.

Been here bout 20 minutes havent gotten a drink, or served yet. We are hungry and waiting will post about food in a minute. poutine didnt come out a poutine then returned with over cooked fries. But the burger and the Taco were splendid Service needs some work.

Very expensive for a subpar experience. Food was okay - bland and expensive for very basic monotone food. Service was atrocious, long wait time, missing drinks with constant reminders, missing food items with reminders, and no alcohol served. Kid-friendliness: Coloring books and crayons for kids with a good kids menu.

Breakfast - eggs, bacon, homemade bread toasted, fried potatoes and plenty of coffee. A perfect hearty real breakfast.

The food is good but be prepared to wait a long time. Last time I went I waited 15 minutes to be seated and it wasnt that busy. There were only 2 girls working and they were trying their best. I left before I could be seated.

I ve been here many times dining in and never had any issues, food was alwyas delicious.TAKE OUT on the other hand was absolutely DISGUSTING. Got the big breakfast with kids pancakes bacon and a side of HOMEFRIES. Plus a scone burger. Had a friend pick it up. What I received was BARELY toasted soggy toast nothing was salted breakfast sausages were basically RAW and soggy. The over easy eggs were the size of my thumbnail, not to mention I found what looked like dog or cat HAIR in the fries. I also received extra scone and FRENCH fries that I didn t ask for which would be why it cost 47$. My child s meal only came with two pieces of bacon. No napkins utensils nothing. With what I paid I m EXTREMELY disgusted. Wish I got my money back. NOT HAPPY.

Ordered a burger. Top bun was soggy on top and burnt underneath. Lettuce was rotten brown and soggy. Meat had no flavour tasted watery. Kid-friendliness: Staff was nice restaurant has a kids menu.

Made a pit stop here for fish and chips while travelling. The wait staff were very friendly and the portions are large. Would definitely recommend trying this place out if youre ever in the area!

Some of the best poutines in town, in my opinion. Pricing is fair and reasonable, all around great experience every time never had a bad experience!!.

Very cool place with lots of amazing woodwork, including some nice wood carved statues. If your a railfan there is an active rail-line between the restaurant and the highway. Not sure the frequency, but there was some activity when I was there. Vegetarian options: Their salads are great if it constitutes. Dunno if poutine is vegitarian, but the poutines are fantastic! Parking: Plenty of spaces right out front of the building. Some handicap spots and some motorcycle spots. Kid-friendliness: Certainly kid friendly. They have high chairs for the very young ones. Not sure about booster seats, but i assume so since they had high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: It is all on level ground, no steps. And the doors seem plenty big enough to fit any type of chair.

I had a pulled pork sandwich, it was plentiful and excellent. The fries are also excellent, real fries, not frozen fries!

We stopped in on our trip to Canada and tried an order of Poutine and the pulled pork sandwich. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the service was quick, friendly, and incredibly helpful not only with our lunch but with helpful tips about the town. Worth the visit!

We always end up eating here for a late Saturday lunch. Breakfast is still being served at that time. I think it might be available all day, but Im not sure as Ive never eaten supper there. I havent had a bad dish yet! The Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap is DYNAMITE! So delicious. The side salad is huge and full of veggies. During busy times, service is a little slow and the food takes a while to come out, but the portions are large and the food is well worth the wait. We love Chummys Grill! Vegetarian options: Salad! Anything can be customized to satisfy the vegetarian customer. Parking: The restaurant is part of a strip of shops, so there is ample parking if the other shops arent busy. Weve never had trouble finding parking, but if everything was busy, it might be difficult. Kid-friendliness: Theres no playland or anything, but Ive seen kids in there, and there is a kids menu available.

Good food nice waitresses decent prices

I ordered two large tomato macaroni soup bowls with a Fried Bologna on Scone and the second was with Fried Scone and Im not disappointed. The soup was really good and had a lot of Meat, the Fried Bologna on Scone and Fried Scone was also good. I would definitely recommend Chummys.

pre-covid, I thought this place was awesome - great food, large portions reasonable price. Last Monday wife & I went there for a late breakfast - loved their pea meal bacon and eggs and was looking forward to it. Ordered eggs over easy, pea meal, hash browns and brown toast - eggs were hard and cold, toast was burnt, pea meal used to be a thick slab from RJs but this was thin slices like the prepackaged bacon and over cooked and the potatoes were home fries and barely warm. Very disappointed compared to my previous experiences. Gonna give them another try but not for several months to see if they can get their act together again. 15/02/22 Follow up review on Chummys Grille - My wife and I returned to Chummys this past Sunday for brunch. Big improvement in the food quality and service compared to my original review. Food was served hot and properly cooked. Coffee refills were prompt and timely - would definitely give them a 4.5 this time around

I feel the waitresses should be checking the quality of plates coming out of the kitchen before serving it to a customer who was waiting 30 mins only for that customer to walk out because I expect quality and what I recieved was a rushed mess on a plate, not atal quality. Step it up. Unlikely to return as it seems like this spot just wants the customers payment not their satisfaction.

Great food, Poorly managed Me and some friends went just around the breakfast rush was dying down but when we got there it was so crowded and you think what they would do is just let people in one at a time instead of letting people in as soon as a table was open because after a while the whole place was just crowded and what didn t help the fact was that it seems that there s only two waitresses there half the time we ordered a simple meal French toast, egg and cheddar sandwich and some liver and onions. We waited about 45 minutes tops for the food to come. The food was really good but I don t know if I would wait nearly an hour for it. Might I suggest either hiring more staff or stop letting everyone in all at once

I am using my husbands account to leave this review since its the one I am logged into and we were both at Chummys today. Before Covid, this was one of our favorite restaurants. Not anymore. I had 3 previously bad experiences in the last 18 months, but this is the 4th and its time to let you know that you need to change something before its too late. We ordered soup and we didnt get it. We both ordered hot sandwiches and the bread was stale. My hot beef consisted of 2 very thin slices of overcooked beef that was surrounded by fat. I had to cut in between the fat to get to what beef there was. There was hardly any gravy on my plate, so I asked for more. That never came. I was unable to eat the mashed potatoes because there wasnt enough gravy. Since Im talking about gravy, we used to love your gravy. What has happened? It was so watery. I have talked to a lot of people lately who have shared their similar experiences with me, so Im just letting you know that we are not alone in noticing that things have changed in a negative way. I sincerely hope that you can find a really good cook who lives up to the standards and quality that you used to be known for. I did relay all of my concerns to our waitress and asked her to let you know. I hope she does that.

Its a shame that they run a restaurant with 0 customers service. Host at the front should wither be replaced or should Hire some good staff. Lady didnt even bother to greet or listen to the order. Just gave the menu and left. We waited for 15 minutes and no one came to take the order.Better to close the business if cant do it properly. Dont even bother to come to this place and waste your time.

Went for the first time ever and I will not be going back. Ordered the Eggs Benny.. which was supposed to be the best ever, was awful. Im pretty sure they just put scrambled eggs on top because it was not hollandaise on my eggs. We waited 45 minutes for our food. I would not recommend nor be returning.

Every time we come north from the GTA we stop here. Always decent food and good portion sizes. Friendly staff, their always hustling and aim to please. The pulled pork poutine was great, and the ceasar salad dressing was best I ve had (no idea if its homemade or bottle but loved it!). One downfall was the hamburger the patty says homemade but it lacked in flavour and was very thin so wouldn t order this again. Overall always love coming to this place even if its only once or twice every few years. Will definitely be back!

Many times have I gone to Chummys and recommended it to everyone I know, but today was just awful! There were only five tables full including ours, took a very long time to see our waitress to put our orders in. Ten more minutes after that until we got our waters and she brought them one at a time. Our starter was entirely forgotten until we said something. All the people seated after us got their food before us, to the point where two of those tables were done eating before we saw our food. Just as I was about ready to leave (45 minutes in) our food finally arrives. Not only was my burger in a bun when I had ordered a scone, but the bun looked like someone sat on it. By the time it was fixed and brought back to me the side poutine was cold. I opened the scone burger to find blackened lettuce. I honestly could t get out of there fast enough today.

Its a nice restaurant, clean, lots of room, Had the fish and chips unfortunately I could only give three stars just because the fish they do is not in a beer batter I would prefer that. But everything else was good I had the caesar salad and fries and that was all great.

Ive eaten here a bunch of times and Ive never had a bad meal. No matter if its breakfast, lunch or dinner youre gonna get more food than youre going to be able to eat. My only gripe and its likely just me is the spicy brave burger is delicious, but its not actually spicy. Spice level could be kicked up a few notches.

Hubby and I had breakfast here today. Our first time eating here and we were not disappointed! We both ordered the big breakfast. The food was hot, portions were large and the service was great considering how busy our waitress was. She checked on us once but no word of a lie, she didnt stop running while we were there! Will definitely be back!

Went to Chummys with my family for brunch. The potatoes werent even cooked they were as though they chopped them and just threw them on the grill for 2 seconds then served them. I used to rave about chummys but this is the second time I have had uncooked potatoes with my breakfast. Definately wont be going back. The servers were great it wasnt their fault.

Excellent food, nice place. I ve never seen so many fries in a serving with my burger. Burger was definitely home made and tasted fantastic. Fries were crispy and abundant. Salad was fresh made. Only complaint was I was freezing.

Wasn t impressed last night , ordered my granddaughter the pancakes and ham and the pancake was so burnt it was black on one side and the cook obviously put the burnt side down so we wouldn t see it , my husband ordered the scrambler which is his favourite and it was burnt . Another waitress came by and seen the pancake and offered to take it back to get another one made . Our server didn t seem to know what she was doing . The couple behind us seen the burnt pancake and they were appalled that it was served to us will not be going back anytime soon .

Throughout an entire roadtrip from BC to Ottawa this restaurant was easily the best bang for your buck, tasty inexpensive and big portions. No complaints, served us with a smile even though we showed up pretty close to closing time. Highly recommend.

In the past the quality of food was great. The last 3 times it has been aweful. Ordered a closed hot hamburger and got an open faced and the carrots were mush. Then ordered a hamburger and it was raw. Now i ordered a chicken ceaser salad and the romaine was half rotten and limp. Not fresh at all.

Went for lunch at Chummys today for the first time ever, my mom and I ordered the large poutine, its no joke folks, it was huge! But so so yummy! The waitress was super sweet and nice. I will def be back to try some of the other menu items!
