Gino's Fired Up Kitchen & Bar in Sault Ste. Marie

Well I have a few favourite pizza places in the Sault so it s very hard to rate favourites. Gino s is certainly one of my new favourites as far as their wood fired pizza. Great food , reasonably priced, and service. Highly recommend . We would say it s amazing.

Pizza and drinks were great. Decent value for everything. The deep fried raviolis were letdown.

I wanted to update my original review to indicate that the owner /manager called me and took care of the problem with our meals last night. There was a glitch in the online ordering system. This type of attention to review and quick response shows they truly are Committed to customer service. ** original review indicated that our order of ribs came with no sides because according to counter staff , I forgot to order sides . The reality was there were no side options. So I didn t receive sides . Which means I spent a lot of money on just ribs !

*update* After some phone tag, the manager and i were able to speak. He notified me that the man who entered the washroom was let go. Apparently, this was not the first issue with him? I found it interesting that the options to resolve this were a gift card (max. 30 dollars) or a coupon that would require me to spend more money to get free items. If I were local,this might have been a more reasonable resolution. However, I live on the other side of the province, so not very practical. I wanted so much to love this place. The atmosphere was fun. Menu looks good, but food is lackluster. Pasta sauce was super salty, which was sad because under the salt, overload was potentially a really nice sauce. Also, a suggestion to the chef. When you burn the sauce on the bottom of the pot. Please dont serve it. Pieces of burnt sauce dont add anything to the flavor. Portions were pretty inconsistent . 3 plates of the same item were all different. Now for the service. Our server, Amanda, was sweet and Cleary felt bad about the issues. She did give us 30% off our bill after speaking to the manager. Give the girl a raise because she was the only saving grace of the meal. Side note to management. After paying our bill, I made a quick stop in the washroom. Male employees should NEVER be just walking into the womens washroom and when seeing a female in said washroom not offering an apology or even backing out. instead, he proceeded to walk around me to drop the cleaning supplies by the counter and then followed me out of the washroom. Did not knock to check if anyone was in the washroom before entering. I went back and mentioned this incident to Amanda, and Im sure shell be following up with management. For sure, it did not get our moneys worth . 100+ dollars wasted.

Impressed on quality of food and service

Food was very delicioco but there was a hair. Service was so bad that I almost left, my friend didn t get his vinegar, waitress was bombastic side eyeing me. Phone was not being answered *ring ring* at all and was obnoxious and was hard to enjoy a family dinner. Don t recommend. 1 star

Food was fantastic. First time but wont be the last. Everyone was happy with the portion sizes. Parking: Lots of space for parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access.

We loved this place and the Greek salad makes me wish I loved closer ! We wereon a time schedule and came in as a group and the delivered the food fast and everyone loved it ! I would highly recommend this place for anyone!

Service was great, nice atmosphere. I had the AAAchuck burger which was fair but the $1.49 for cheese seemed excessive as it was a kraft single and put on as an afterthought as it never melted. Not worth the $15.99 + $1.49.

My soup was cold , they reheated it that was good Chicken sandwich on Brioche bun would have been ok but the chicken was so dry I couldn t chew it, another member of my party had a meat ball sandwich, that she couldn t eat , another person order a personal pizza and the chicken was extremely dry. 2 others in our group had personal pizzas that they said were good.

The service and atmosphere were good, but the food was not tasty.

Had supper. Chicken lime noodle bowl. Husband had a burger. Drinks good. Service good.

This was Friday supper time, they were so busy but we got excellent service. Shelby was right on top of everything, she quickly got out appitizers and drinks and we didnt have to wait for our main meal. The kitchen was really on top of everything people were being served quite fast. The food was very good.

Had the Bomba bites and spinach dip and pizza was good

Very busy spot. Food was good and served hot. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. Side plates were delivered and they were dirty with dried food on them and the same with our forks. Food was good but the waiter made a few errors but in fairness to him it was busy and he was one or two working the patio.

Portion control to the extreme, having my parmesan on a spoon was an incredible flex. You can really tell by the flavour the cooks spend more time weighing the food than developing flavour. Going here is everything wrong with going to big chain restaurants. Very overpriced on-top of it all.

Always a great place for breakfast

For socializing this is a nice spot. We sat on the patio on a sunny evening and it was a perfect setting. Our server had a great sense of humour and worked really hard to ensure we were looked after during our entire visit. The food was just meh. Very average, sadly. We had an opportunity to share some of the mains. A pizza, some of the pasta dishes and bizarrely they all kinda rated the same. It was a though they just needed to salt the dish appropriately.

First time here- supper hour was busy for a weekday. Fresh pasta was good. Great variety of meals- pasta, pizza, soup, salad.

Came by for Dinner with my wife while we were kid free for an hour, and I have to say.. It was some of the best service I think the two of us have ever had on a date night, so prompt, polite and kind. The food was amazing as usual and the portion sizes were great! The wife and I debated weather the all you can eat salad or pasta was better haha. Thanks for a great night out!!

Slow service. Ate most of my food without my drink. Probably asked for ice 3 times but never got it. My food sat out for about an hour because it took so long to get a container. Food came out at random times

Tracy was our waitress and she was awesome! We didn t wait long for our food which was amazing! My steak was cooked to perfection . We came in from North Bay and couldn t get reservations anywhere so we came to Gino s. We waited about 2 minutes for a table and no sooner did we sit, Tracy came over and took our orders. They were extremely busy and we could tell the staff was a bit overwhelmed but we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Gino s to anyone visiting!

Went for pizza and beer, only one person working. Took 20 min for server to come then another 40 min for personal pizza. Sooo disappointed. Prob. Wont go back.

Went for breakfast and had a terrible experience. They were very disorganized. We got seated and waited at least a half an hour before our order was taken. A couple who came in after us was seated next to us, ordered, got their food, paid, and left before we even got our food. That should never happen. I was so mad I couldnt even enjoy my food. Very disappointed and will not go back.

Thank you Again for reaching out ! - August 2024 -Dined with a large table. I ordered a chicken parmigiana ,asking to switch the marinara for Alfredo sauce (advised this was an extra charge) my plate came and the portion for the fettuccine was so small, I had to asked the server if this was portioned for the kids menu? Apparently it s pre portioned , all other dishes that came to my table had fairly well portioned pasta plates. I paid extra for the sauce exchange and had to ask if the Alfredo was actually on the noodles I could not see sauce , I was Completely disappointed with the $25 + plate, I should have ordered from the kids menu,their portions were well plated. This was my second visit, in hopes this visit was a better experience ,I will not dine again there. My review , my personal experience. On a positive note , Excellent service from our server and a 25% tip was given.

Hadnt been here for years as I dont live in the Soo anymore. Went there for a nice family meal because I remembered that I had enjoyed the restaurant in my younger years. Brought my 2 boys in and told them to try the panzerotti. The look on their faces when this monster was delivered to the table. The restaurant may have changed a little from my memory, but the food and service were still top-notch. The food was great and the service was excellent. My boys asked me when can we go back. Every time we visit the soo was my answer.

Place looks amazing since the Reno as this was the first time back since. Food was great as was the service. The restaurant and the bathrooms were clean.

Music was a little loud which made it hard to hear ourselves a bit, aside from that it was great food and good service. Very authentic Italian food. Make sure to stop here if youre in town visiting Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp on inside to lower eating area and lots of tables to get a chair up too.

Beauty restaurant, good clone of olive garden or Marios.....server was not informed on products in the beer fridge....salad was gross and calamari was frozen pre made Paid good money and it wasnt good Was promised bread that didnt happen Ordered calamari ...got a soupy carbonara pasta...salad said it arugula ,mixed greens etc etc ...was an oily mess wouldnt be good enough for the frigging olive garden standards...get training ....that place is a gold mine and a good ripp off of other brands ....like olive garden....people like to eat this place is gold...shine it up

Great place all around..food service atmosphere

It was a late evening, thanks god they open that late. I ordered Tour of Italy. The cheese and sauce was right at the point of my favourite.

Great place

My wife and I go here often enough. Mostly because its on the way out of the Sault. We now have a joke that the food will always be decent to good, and the service will always be okay to awful. Their traditional breakfasts are good. The home-made Italian breakfast sausage is fantastic (not sure why they hide it behind and upcharge) Theory chicken and waffles breakfast is awful. Its a chicken schnitzel on a waffle. Its gross and should be taken off the menu. I cant imagine anyone has ever ordered it twice. The servers always seem annoyed or overwhelmed, or undertrained. An okay restaurant to change it up from time to time. But I would.never recommend it to a tourist. I hope they find their stride, because there is certainly potential. I will continue giving them a try from time to time.

I had the big dill pizza and I loved it! My mom had the Margherita pizza and it was pretty good as well. Food came rather quick and we had a good time overall!

Pizza was good. Chicken cutlet sandwich was awful. Chicken so thin no taste came through. Waitress never came back after we got our food even after she said she would refill my drink. Went up to barvto pay. Waitress offered to take off sandwich but we were in a hurry and service had been very slow. Kitchen was very slow to get food out.

Attended this restaurant today for lunch with a colleague at around 1:05pm. Walked out at 130pm because server Tracy didnt even take a drink order nor our order. We were both on our lunch hour and didnt have hours to spare to get lunch. Restaurant was not overly busy (5 other tables of 2), after waiting +5 minutes to be seated, by Tracy she handed us menus and proceeded back to the door where another lady had also been waiting. At the same time, 2 gentlemen walked in and she sat them before seating the lady. She proceeded to get the gentlemens table drinks and took away their menus so I will assume she took their orders as well. She stood at the table and conversed with the men. All well, my colleague and I were sitting waiting to be served and being ignored. When she was seating us, 2 other tables were asking for their bill and were not impressed with the service they were receiving.... they asked for the manager and we overheard Tracy say I am the manager. Service was terrible. Tracy didnt even realize that we walked out as she was too distracted by the 2 gentlemen. Frustrating. The service was the worst I had ever received.

Food is great and the environment is enjoyable- you can see the staff working hard ! The only issue any time we go is it takes way too long for food to come out - I ve observed many tables looking frustrated or upset - I suggest getting app to hold you over because on average it takes 40min for your meal to arrive to your table.

Ive dined here twice now. The first was for dinner with my 2yr old grandson. The service was horrible. They stuck us in a corner and our waitress had to be flagged down for everything. Spaghetti was awful, looked like tomato sauce out of a can. Second time was for breakfast. Food was amazing, so was the service.

Good food, great service. I would recommend the Jambalaya, Italian style. Not for the faint of heart though as its very spicy.

Weve been to Ginos many times in the past with the original owners and they never disappointed. Weve also been to the new Ginos four times and this last experience will be my last. So many things have changed and I believe that change is good but not always. If you like spicy spaghetti sauce you will enjoy it. If you like garlic cheese bread that is overloaded with whole garlic cloves you will be in heaven. I am very sad that they took something that was so good and reasonably priced and turned it into something that myself and my family just dont enjoy. I wish the owners great success!

Great place to eat but a bit loud because its so busy.

Unfortunately I will have to give Gino s a 2 Star review for my first time. I was recommended by some people to check out the ribs sadly there was no ribs left in stock when I had come for dinner and already ordered. The waitress came back told me they can swap My ribs out for chicken wing s I said ok , little did I know that I would not like the wings and didn t end up eating any of it except for like 2 wings. Asked for my check shortly after , then waitress ask me what s wrong I told her I didn t like it and wasn t happy, they offered me cake ( I declined) and took the garlic bread off my bill (still 80$). In short: food was not best , inside cosmetics looked awesome , staff was ok. Hope if I ever come back to Gino s the Gino s experience will be a better one.

Great food

We decided to try Ginos for our date night this past weekend. We will definitely go back again. The food was delicious. I had the lasagna. It was fantastic although I was a little disappointed that there was no bread to go with it. My boyfriend had the ribs. He really enjoyed the whole meal. I gave the service and the atmosphere a 4 star only because I felt a little rushed and it was quite loud.

We have been long time regulars for decades ...but last few times service was below what were had been use to , but Sunday will absolutely be the last time visiting this establishment...server Tracy was brutal and rude and lacked customer service skills and our meal was uneatible...i returned mine , hubby ate meatballs and gnocchi were mushy and bomba balls were so small , they use to be the 1st thing we ordered and fell inlove with them on the new menu but they changed in size and textures and a big let down

I had chicken and waffles and it was terrible. The chicken was processed chicken patties that were burnt and the waffles were not good. The homemade sausage was good but didn t make up for the meal. Service was slow and not friendly. Avoid this place there are a lot better ones

I would like to thank the staff at Ginos for the excellent service and the care they gave us while they helped us host my fathers celebration of life on Saturday, February 24th. We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant, the food was very good and the staff bent over backwards to do their best to accommodate us. We will forever appreciate and remember this day. Food was good.crust was awesome but.toppings a little cinzy...how much does a mushroom cost?.. maybe one fresh mushroom on my personal size pizza... slightly disappointed in the quantity of toppings for additional cost. We had a wonderful supper here for my daughter s birthday. They made her feel very special, sang Happy Birthday to her with cake and a candle. Thank you, she was thrilled! The food was so delicious, I recommend the Spaghetti Carbonara. We all really enjoyed the Garlic Bread plank and the homemade spinach dip. Our server was wonderful! Highly recommend Gino s Fired Up for your family s celebrations!

Went for a family event and we were not disappointed

The food was excellent! We had the panzerotti and the margherita pizza. The crust and overall flavour of the pizza was really good, but the tomatoes were in big pieces and kinda soggy. The panzerotti was amazing! The service was ok. She never came back at all to check on us or offer another beverage. Atmosphere could be a little cozier feeling too, but suitable for a bar & grill type of place I guess. We will definitely go back again Vegetarian options: Several salad options as well as veggie pizza, and a variety of pasta dishes without meat or meat sauce. Dietary restrictions: They have cauliflower pizza crust as an option for gluten free options. Parking: Lots of parking space available, but does fill up quickly at dinner time as it seems to be a popular place to dine. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and placemats and crayons are provided for children. Not sure about menu options as we did not bring children, but there was a kids birthday celebration happening while we were there. Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant has wheelchair accessibility.

Ceaser Salad was delicious

Went for a Valentines dinner with my wife. The service was great, the food was delicious and you couldnt tell that the restaurant was busy. A+ experience! Vegetarian options: There are vegan and vegetarian options.

Cool place to go for a casual dinner with the family. The food was really good and our server was excellent. I recommend this place. Dont judge the parking lot, we got right in and we had 6 people.

Wonderful place to be.

My husband and I were on a road trip from Toronto to MB and stopped for breakfast. I loved the ambience. Very creative interior. . Place was recommended by a lady we found while we were stretching our legs. I loved the way the old ironsheets were used .

If you are coming try Gino s one of the best restaurants and definitely try pasta , chef maheep make the best pastas in the town

Had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! The BBQ chicken was incredibly flavorful and tender. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend trying their BBQ chicken dish. Will definitely be returning soon!

The Jambalaya was outstanding.

I ve eaten here 5 plus times. Great place, clean, all staff is well trained and smiling. Amazing menu to select from, food comes out fast and tasty. I ve had minor issues just as you would expect, everywhere has good days and bad. Gino s customer service is second to none, any problem you have will be fixed, Gino s helps make things right. Shout out to Gassi and McLean for always helping. Thank you so much. I ll be back!!!

I ve been there so many times for birthday celebrations and date night with my husband. Love the food, good vegetarian options available, and the atmosphere is def what Soo needs.

The food had absolutely no taste and was cold. We were there for a bday party and every one was disappointed.

2nd time trying this place went for breakfast first time and it was bad. So i thought lets try again but The lasagna was cold, we ordered an app and got charged for 2. Didnt realize it until I got home. Not impressed will not go back again so disappointed.

Excellent transformation from previous owners. New, fresh and comfortable atmosphere. Very cool open concept pizza kitchen. Very cool patio. Food, fresh and tasty. Service, courteous and polite. Prices are about what youd expect these days. Patio is very close to highway so consider that when choosing to sit inside or outside.

By far the best Gluten Free pizza Ive ever had, and Ive been on this diet all my life (54). The staff is very friendly and attentive! Five Stars.

Everyone elses meals where great, but I received the wrong meat on my eggs Benedict and when I tried to tell them they argued and tried to Gaslight me saying i was wrong. These two meats are different

September 18, 2023 Our waitress was attentive, experienced, spot on with everything. She was a delight! We were there from 5:45pm to 7:30pm (I hope this waitress gets a big raise!) The food was really good too. Also, It was my sons 30th birthday, I asked the waitress to embarrass him so she and the other staff sang happy birthday to him and brought him cake. It was great!

Fabulous pizza!

First time at this restaurant since the renovations, the look and atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, the food and service was a huge letdown. Do not order the nachos, there is a bruschetta topping they add which makes the nachos soggy right from the start, the 6$ upcharge for a meat topping also includes less than what looks like a tablespoon of meat. Very disappointing. I voiced the soggy issue to the server and while I refused to order something else (did not want to wait longer after already being disappointed), less than half of the nachos were eaten but I did not receive any compensation and still had to pay the full 26$ for the nachos that we didnt even want to take home as leftovers. I doubt I will be returning to this restaurant.

Really loving the reno

I first time going there will go there again was really nice. Would love to try the other food options. All of it looks delicious

Waited over 35 minutes without even a glass of water. Left after our server passed over our table for at least two others without as much as an apology. Another server offered to help but also left us waiting. Definitely not recommended for lunch, especially for anyone with a work schedule. Absolute disappointment with no attempt to resolve by staff.

Waitress Tracey was AWESOME! Its a cool place. I found it a lil more expensive than Id hoped. Their spinach dip was the BEST Ive ever had and I order it most places! Their signature salad dressing didnt have much flavour. My make your own pasta (I chose garlic butter/linguini) started at $22! I added Primavera veg for $4.99 (!) and I got a few carrots, a few pieces of zucchini, red onion (which isnt really for cooking!) and thats it. It wasnt very garlicky either. So with water and after a good tip, my bill was $70.

All staff that I have encountered have been friendly and attentive. The patio is nice, but unfortunately, right beside the main road. Inside dining is great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Generous portions, with high-quality food. Overall, it was a great experience.

We went in to eat not no one would seat us so after 5 people walked by and looked at us we left.

Ordered the Thanksgiving dinner for 4. Flavor and quality of food was amazing!!!! The portion was a disappointment. Turkey was enough for 3 but the sides would have been enough for 2.

We went on a Friday night when they were packed. The service was fast! We were seated almost right away, food came in a timely manner, and our waitress was very attentive. Great portions of food, not overly expensive, and it all tasted great! The restaurant was lovely, they had everything decorated for fall so it made for a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Great wings but very expensive

The first time I went when it re opened it was amazing. Well last night I went with my girlfriend and it was horrible I now have food poisoning my girlfriend ate half of her meal it was under cooked. I also would like to mention its hard to get a babysitter so this was supposed to be a special night for us. Thanks Ginos Im currently throwing up and out $75 and not to mention Im going to he sick at work for the next couple days.

Good food, great staff ... Prices are way too high

Ordered pizza and wing combo last night. We were very disappointed with our food. The pizza had some sort of bbq sauce on top of it. Which we didn t order and tasted horrible. The sausage was just a big clump, it wasn t the new sliced sausage. Toppings were sparse. Wings hardly had any sauce on them. Very disappointed won t order again especially for the prices you pay now a days.

Great food and service. Had the Tour of Italy and it was awesome!

What an amazing place! Sadly, I didnt catch the servers name...buy she really went out of her way to make my experience fantastic! Listened to my long-winded explanations, helped me pick a selection, answered all my questions...very professional but very natural at the same time. And the food! Calamari was absolutely perfectly cooked, and the seafood fettuccine was filling and delicious,and i took half my dessert with me. I highly recommend Ginos, on the main route through Sault Ste Marie.

Busy place .. good food !! Good Service

I came for a job out of town. Some of the best food Ive ever had, service was excellent, well taken care of, being from Toronto I was blown away by the price and quality of food :) definitely one place that Ill never forget

We had breakfast. What a great way to start your day, and it was cooked to perfection and great bang for your buck! Our waitress Tracy rocked she was the best server ever! A place that goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience!

I give this place a high review. However, watch out for Connie the bartender. She tried sneaking a pint of Michelob Ultra beer that I didnt order onto my bill, and than cut me off because I paid for it, then pointed it out, and it caused a whole ordeal with trying to figure out refund and stuff. She said she accidentally added some other guys beer onto my tab, a guy sitting at the bar with me but left before this all went down. He was drinking shock top and I asked him about. He enjoys shock top. He was not drinking Michelin Ultra. She said in conversation she drinks Michelin ultra. Weird right. And then after having a meal and only 4 bottles of beers in 2 hours, she cut me off. I think she tried scamming me into paying for her after work beverage. At best. Watch out, she s a scammer and a thief. Other than that, atmosphere is excellent, wings were excellent, and sauce was excellent. Service was good too. I recommend the place. But watch your bill folks.

Great spot for any meal.

We did an event for my mother birthday in the side room for 35 people, it was fantastic. The waiting staff was fantastic. Everyone was able to order separate meals and got them all relatively close to each other. We were allowed to decorate, bring in our own cake, etc. They ensured I got my deposit back, with no extra fee for the room. Very helpful in all requests and quick responses along the way.

I went to Ginos Fired Up Grill with my family last weekend and we had a great time. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and a diverse menu. We ordered the spinach dip, and the Chicken Parm. Everything was delicious, except for the Chicken Parm, which was unfortunately raw in the middle for one of us. We informed the waiter and he apologized and offered to replace it or give us a different dish. We chose the lasagna instead and it was amazing. The manager also came to our table and gave us a complimentary dessert as a gesture of goodwill. We really appreciated their service and how they handled the situation. The Chicken Parm was a minor hiccup in an otherwise wonderful dining experience. We would definitely go back to Ginos Fired Up Grill and recommend it to our friends.

I used to frequent this restaurant years ago with friends. Its always been in my mind in terms of favorite breakfast spots. Its been renovated since and I was quite impressed and equally pleased with the food. Ginos is a go to for me.

Great food, fun atmosphere. Beer menu could be better

Tracy was awesome! Very attentive and met our needs wherever possible. Music was not tasteful and sometimes loud and intrusive. The glass used for a Caesar was so wrong. Too small! And the garnish was also wrong. When we asked for a pickle and bigger glass it was not available. Ribs and wings were really good and calamari starter was really good!

Gill thank you so much for making our experience an amazing one. We were there December 02, party of 7 and you made it memorable for my mothers birthday. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was impressive and the service was quick, courteous and thoughtful.

Ive had a few unfortunate experiences here out of their control honestly but my low rating is because I was served raw chicken (chicken parm). Anyone who has worked in food service knows to temp food, especially chicken. Servers are always awesome here though but this place will be the last choice on my list next time around.

I drove 7 hrs to take my dad back home to Sault Ste. Marie, my friend and I went for dinner at Gino s fired up and it was the best lasagna I have ever had it was differently worth the 7 hr drive. And the best part you can take home there frozen pasta and sauces delicious

Stopped in with a bus full of people and we were efficiently in and out in a little over an hour. Beautiful restaurant with a broad selection on the menu

Awesome best food in SSM

Very good food. Such bad service. This has been the case on more than one visit. My sister in law and I both have been in the restaurant business, so we know what good service entails. Our servers neglect, lack of service was disappointing, as well as foolish since our bill would have been much higher, had she offered drinks, or coffee and dessert. Rather than asking if she could give us our bill when wed barely finished our entrees. It is unheard of for us not to tip generously..yesterday I tipped only 10%..my SIL thought I should not have tipped our server at all.

Waiting almost 10 minutes upon entry to even be acknowledged let alone seated. Slow service, never checked on after food was delivered. 5 dirty tables with food still on them during our whole experience. Food was sub par, crunchy cold pancakes. Cold home fries.

I have stopped here a few times now food is always great. Only once I waited a long time for my bill but usually including today good service. This place is nice inside.

Food was great but the waitress was having a bad night management was helping her.They took care of us to make the night better we will go back
