Peace Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

Usually a huge lover of Peace, but not this time around. The bao buns were a big disappointment And we missed a lot of the past favorites on the menu.

Great food and service! Would recommend.

Menu size cut in half. Food quality has dropped recently. Portion sizes reduced and replaced with boring, obvious cost cutting pickled garnish/vegetables. The menu has also veered so far from Asian fusion. For instance: brick chicken , shrimp and grits, cashew duck confit, $160 ribeye lol. What kind of restaurant are you trying to be? The menu doesn t reflect the brand anymore. It s like someone just started dumping their signature dishes on the menu with no respect to the former menu. In terms of taste, had both duck dishes. Absolutely torched, dry and overcooked. The chicken bao buns used to be a staple, but the quality of meat is terrible. Stringy, overcooked, cheap cuts of chicken and results in it being impossible to bite through. At least the bao bun is the same. Excellent drink menu and sushi remains, but doubt the big new chef is the one behind it. What a shame what happened to Peace. They continually repeat (amongst the owners unprofessional comments) that the menu is a work in progress but there must be a strike because nothing has improved.

Tasty drinks and nice atmosphere.

We were visiting the town and came here on a Saturday evening to eat dinner with my family. There was no table available inside so we got shifted to roadside patio. We ordered their popular Pork Belly Bao and the Beef Bolognese. They don t have any kids menu so we requested to make the pasta less/non spicy for our toddler. Food took 25-30 mins just for two items. The beef bolognaise was still spicy and our toddler couldn t eat. He was super hungry so we had to pack food and leave. Our evening was ruined. This place felt expensive for the food offered, ambience was good but we missed most of it as we were outside on the patio, bottom line: overhyped, not kid friendly and limited food options. P.S: After reading the business owner s rude, inconsiderate and condescending response I remove a star and would never visit this place.

Peace is a fantastic restaurant. The ambiance, the food, the price it all made the experience worth it. The service is probably the best in the Soo. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu, made great recommendations and was on top of us all night.

Reservations for Oct 1 were not honoured. Several of us left stadium outside at 5pm waiting for open, while kitchen staff and patio workers looked on. Facebook announced so much, but only if you look. Poor showing.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven after the cheese burger spring rolls but then I tasted the Korean bolognese! The English language doesn t have a word that describes how freaking delicious this was. The staff were super friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Terrible service. How long does it take to be seated at this restaurant? I cannot answer this question as I left. Multiple staff made eye contact and did not say a word or even acknowledge that I was waiting to say they would help me in a minute. Just watched as I stood there waiting to be seated.

Disappointing meal! Had the SESAME GARLIC SZECHUAN NOODLES. These were short spiral egg noodles not even remotely resembling Szechuan noodles and many were all stuck together!! Seriously? For $25??? And dehydrated brown garlic slices were so bitter. The meal made for a disappointing culinary experience on a special night!! And the floor near the entrance was sticky under my shoes. Over rated!! Great atmosphere and service but some big gaps!!!! You can fool many people in SSM who don t know good food I guess.

What I especially appreciate about this place is the atmosphere. It feels like you are out for drinks in the big city. Too many places in the Soo barely change their decor as businesses change. For instance, remember when Pure Platinum changed to a Don Cherry s and then a Chinese buffet and barely changed any of the interior decorating?

We walked in with no reservation and got a seat at the bar- it was fantastic! Food was unbelievable, the service was amazing. We got the braised beef bao buns, maki and crunchy roll, oysters (the sauces were to die for) and drinks- dazed and confused drink was so delicious! Ive lived in and around Toronto and tried a lot of great places and this place tops them! What a gem!

I brought my tinder date out for a later lunch date on tuesday and tried their steak for the first time.. i ordered it blue, as always. Let s just say to conclude our evening, the only thing that ended up being blue was the steak;) cheers Peace! 10/10 recommend

We really enjoyed the outstanding Asian fusion cuisine at Peace Restaurant during a recent visit to Sault Ste Marie. Credit also goes to the service staff for their knowledgeable recommendations and also their intuiting the proper number of dishes for us. Also, liked the music selection and in particular liked the fact that music was not too loud on the night we were there. Would recommend.

First time at Peace. It was recommended by a friend. Delightful experience.

It was roughly 5:30pm. There were less that 5 customers in the restaurant. We walked in and sat at the completely empty bar and were promptly scolded by the bar tender that we need to check in. So we went to check in again scolded because we didn t have reservations. Said they had to many resies and we can only sit outside. Ok so we sit outside. Watched the 6-7 waitresses stand inside while the restaurant stayed empty. By time we were finished with our meal and watched them seat every walk in outside (4 couples) and the a group of 6 sat inside. The bar was still empty. Why couldn t we just sit at the bar?? Because we were young and cute enough? Or was it due to my boyfriend s race. I ve never felt more profiled in my life as a mixed race couple. I will never return to such a closed minded establishment

I have been visiting sault sainte Marie after 2 years. I just googled the restaurant while sitting at on bed at the hotel. The food is amazing. It truly meet my expectations. Will defo come back for more.

Imaginative cocktails and very tasty food. I had the pork belly bao buns and the eggplant bao buns and they were superb. The wait staff was professional and friendly.

Showed up without a reservation at 5:00pm, they asked if we hade a reservation, we said no. They offered two suggestions-sit at two high top tables or at a sofa; we chose the high tops. Notice over ½ the tables were empty so assumed there reserved and people would be coming soon. When we left an hour and a half later, the tables were still empty. Strange, either ALL the reservations cancelled or it s just a snobbish restaurant. Food was just ok.

I liked the service best! The food was amazing as well. They heeded my request about the food. I recommended this place to some of my friends.

Staff were great! We had 6 dishes, all were great except the duck pancakes. Very bland and tough, toppings lack luster. This dish is very expensive so was hoping for more.

I have had a very blessed life and traveled to many different countries. I cannot believe one of my all time favorite restaurants is located in Sault St. Marie, Ontario. This place is amazing! Food, cocktails, service. Its not expensive, you pay the high price for an awesome meal thats worth every penny! They simply never miss, go ASAP!

Nice setting, but the service and food was questionable. Made a reso online for a table, host looked confused and asked when I made the reservation, was sat at the bar (fine, we aren t picky) but after ordering drinks, proceeded to wait 20 minutes before receiving. One of the cooks handed us our dishes and explained everything in them, which was nice, but overall the food was bland and salty. For the price, probably wouldn t return. As someone who served for years I was pretty underwhelmed watching the staff all chat behind the bar with their backs to everyone but eh, to each their own!

Food while nicely presented was very salty with unbalanced flavours. Service was slow and disorganized, there were at least 6 of them and I ve had better service in similarly packed rooms with two servers. Waited 20 minutes for a 20$ drink, the atmosphere is a dollar a minute I guess.

Was travelling for work and found this place. This place was unreal!! All the staff were super professional and friendly, the food was outstanding - but the highlight was the amazing cocktails and skill set by the bartender. She really knew her stuff and was truly a master of her craft! Wow!

Food was good. Margaritas were really good. Table of 10 service was great at first but dropped off as some at the table had to wait very long for their food! Bit pricey but what isnt nowadays.

We love the bao buns and rice bites. We love going everytime we have the chance. The prices are amazing glad the dumplings are off the menu lol we had a mini panic attack thinking we were allergic but over all love going here on date night

Very expensive for very little.

Peace exceeded my expectations in all the important categories! Thoroughly enjoyed the fresh and delicious margaritas and the live band! The inventive dishes were bursting with complex flavours and the presentation was superb. Special shout outs to Gabi who was professional, cheerful and very knowledgeable about each dish, and to Chrissy, who was in training, for being genuinely sweet and helpful. Indeed the entire staff was busy, yet remained friendly and attentive! What a memorable evening! This restaurant rivals any dining experience Ive enjoyed in North America and Europe! Vegetarian options: The Daikon & Vermicelli Slaw was superb! Dietary restrictions: Options available for gf, df and vegetarian! Parking: Street parking is free after 6 pm. Lots of available parking in the lot directly across the street!

my best friend went for her bday a day ago, literally got yelled at by one of the servers thats all tatted out, they ordered the last order of bao buns and it came out horrible way too fatty then normal and when asking about the server freaked out on her and screaming about how all meat has fat in it but didnt try to accomidate anything for her. dont go here unless u liked being yelled at for bad food.

My friends and I come into Peace often but this is my first time leaving a review. The service is always prompt and friendly. The servers are knowledgeable and always ready to give great recommendations. We go often on Wednesdays for half priced wines by the bottle but the cocktail menu is so creative and expansive too. The menu is creative, unique, and most importantly, delicious. They have great vegan and vegetarian options as well (the chef made me a veggie roll from the upcoming new menu and it was delicious!). We ll be back soon!

This place is so nice, genuinely. Plethora of gluten free, vegetarian, pescetarian, and meat eater dishes. Alcoholic drinks are phenomenal with so many option, plus delicious mocktail options. The variety of cultural food makes me so happy, on top of the various spice levels of all the dishes. They have a style where food comes out as its made and not all together which I thought I wouldnt like but I actually really enjoy. Plus its not like a 20 minute wait or anything, just 2 or 3 minutes apart which ends up being really nice, especially when you order multiple dishes. The music, to be honest, was just a little too loud. But the lighting, the seating, so lovely. Also, they dont take the menus which is probably my least favourite thing. My wife and I ended up putting it on the bench right next to us so we could have room to eat, but then someone came to sit next to us. My wife went to move the menu out of their way but before they could a waitress grabbed them. We thought, oh they mustve just forgotten to take them. But then she came and put them on the other side of her...very weird interaction. All in all, very lovely restaurant, knocked our anniversary restaurant out of the water so definitely will be back. Plus, they give you chopsticks alone with a fork and knife for your food. On top of that, all the lights are dim, so no getting blinded by fluorescent lights while trying to eat. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options blew me out of the water. Many many options that are all clearly labeled. My wife and I hardly can find places to eat together because Im a vegetarian and shes not. Love this place.

I was at Peace last night with some Friends to celebrate the Christmas holidays. An old but special friend who works at Peace Alex Proulx provided us with unreasonable and exceptional hospitality by making one of my daughter s favourite dishes when growing up. Thank you for being such a special person and making Peace a special spot for us.

Last time, we had good experience with good food, so we come back this time. However, the food tastes very salty and not good. We have a bite of noodle and send it back and order tofu, they charge us for both tofu and the noodle- were barely touch. We still leave 18% tips cause general services not bad, but not good.

Had dinner at the bar for a Friday night. Cocktails were delicious. We had the bao buns (fried chicken was amazing, pork belly was good), the Brussel sprouts were okay but they ran out of the Xo sauce so gave them 1/2 off. The sushi was delicious (crispy roll gluten free) and the snapper was great! We had to try dessert, the miso cookie was rich and gooey, and the miso ice cream was also tasty. Both were enough to share. Our bartender Gabby was super informative and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend Peace for a date night or anytime you want an elevated dinning experience. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options listed on the menu and some items can be made GF.

Super amazing experience, great atmosphere, great service, and even better food! Totally recommend the BAO buns, we had the chicken and they were incredible! Also had the dumplings and the presentation was amazing. Not too sure what exactly was in them but it made my mouth tingly from i think a schezuan spice. So didnt like that so much.

As someone who is obsessed with Asian cuisine and lived in Asia for many years, I can confidently say that the food here has really authentic flavors and they really did a great job with the Asian fusion menu options! My mom and I went here for a lunch date and we were so pleased. The Korean fried chicken bao was very tasty, every bite full of flavor, and our waitress Ella did a great job giving very friendly and efficient service. The bartender went above to serve us warm sake, which isnt on the menu, but they were very accommodating. Wonderful inside atmosphere-great for a girls night out or date at the bar!

Canadas best-kept restaurant secret is situated in downtown Sault Ste Marie! The artful decor and creative cocktails are reminiscent of the trendiest hot spots in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver, but the vibe and staff are friendly and unpretentious. Its the calibre of food that really makes Peace stand out. Our party tried many items from the Asian-inspired menu, and found each dish to be boldly flavourful and wonderfully presented. One of the stars of the menu is the short rib, cooked 13 hours to tender, delicious perfection. Any foodie living in, visiting or passing through the Soo, must try this place.

Cocktails were refreshing and unique. Bao, lo mein and dessert skillet cookie were delicious and fresh. Ingredients seem to be super fresh, no shortcuts taken with herbs etc. I would say on this occasion the lo mein was just a tad on the too salty side. Staff is friendly and helpful, food came in a timely manner. Portions were decently sized for the price.

Love this place Food is always beyond delicious, atmosphere although a busy spot is cozy and inviting, servers are among the best there is!!! Recommend this to anyone looking for an enjoyable night out with good eats and incredible cocktails, placebo options are also available without compromising the quality of the drink.

SO good, beautiful presentation, easy to share to try a little bit of everything and amazing cocktails. Really good vegan/vegetarian options and my friends who eat meat all shared tons of dishes and loved every single one. Makes for a really nice night out.

We adore Peace! The decor and atmosphere gave us a nostalgic feeling of The Six Vibe! Gabby, Ella and Nigel were a pleasure. Gabby is an excellent server. Peace is lucky to have her The head chef is super young, and our dishes were tasty! We will back again

Honestly we drove into Sault Ste Marie from Vancouver BC (5 days) and this is the best food we ve had since we left. Super tasty vegetarian eats, and a bomb cocktail menu. Glad it s a tapas situation, because it s worth sharing everything on the menu.

Unexpected excellence. Everything, from the service, through the appetizer kept impressing. It continued to improve through the main course, and then our desserts were the best course! Cannot wait to return.

Peace is the first restaurant I found in Sault Ste Marie that made me truly relook at the way I view SSM. I felt like I was walking into a Toronto bar; the vibes, the live music, the food, and the atmosphere all felt like home. I enjoyed every single thing I tried at this restaurant. The chef is amazing. The food has sooooooo much flavour, and they actually really do use spice and not just chilly flakes or cayenne! Which is incredible. The Bao buns are to die for. Both the braised pork and the fried chicken Bao buns were so delicious! Keep in mind you can order two different Bao buns, you dont have to get two of the same ones :) I have stayed in SSM for one month and Peace is 100% my favourite restaurant here.

Havent been to Sault Saint Marie in 20+ years. This is a nice option over the typical chicken wing and pizza places. Bar tenders were smart and friendly and had many recommendations for the menu.

HORRIBLE small portions WEAK drinks over priced not even unique, I mean Michelin star restaurants don t even compare to this!!! How are some of you so mesmerized and saying that. This is for small minded people in the Soo who have never experienced anything else where, there is much higher standards here in the Soo such as Giovanni s restaurant , Soo mill, EVEN MRS B s!!! Ask them next time you dine if you could check the kitchen. See for your self what a kitchen nightmare this place really is for your own eyes, it s a deception. I wouldn t recommend it SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TRAVEL

I wish I could give them 4.5 but Google doesnt give that option. We had a rocky start to our service and there was definitely some issues to work out but in the end the staff was very apologetic and if I lived closer I would give them a second chance.

One of my favourite places to go out. Great menu with shareable options. Love the rotating menus to always try something new. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly.

I will say Peace Has a beautiful interior and decor, although the stress emits off the workers. Not a single Asian person working..front or back?? I ordered the poke bowl it took rather long for a cold meal. And it may have been because of the business and stressed workers but that s no excuse for the fact I paid over 25 for that disgusting fishy smelling dish. Please hire some authentic chefs with good experience. This is a disgrace to the Japanese and Koreans traditionally crafted meals. Ps I went on a Thursday evening walk in no reservations after a board walk. Next time I d go with fluid patio or some other corporate owned restaurants if your looking for approval or to spend pointless amounts of money on food that isn t worth it cooked by home cooks. Lower prices there isn t anything deserving over $18 until there is some verification of an authentic Japanese or Korean or even just an Asian cook working unless you guys spent too much on the decor, it is really fancy inside. Although the staff also profile I will never bring my family back. Nor will I recommend even if you haven t tried it. DONT NOT WORTH IT save your money for authentic restaurants such as Italian or Viatminese or Indian cuisine in town or down south where it s done properly and not just a rip off. My husband even felt sick after the oysters and sushi beware ( Still over priced Makayla, still not an authentic Korean north ,south , Japanese or any Asian diversity just bigger un clean clean home cooks) you could change the team . You just don t want too! in the restaurant industry each and everyone of you (s) is Replaceable this is a simple business tactic scheme obviously from the owners as they do not value authentic Asian cuisine I wouldn t get too comfy Makayla. In five years when Torontians like myself all are up here this very restaurant will plummet into debt. As new authentic restaurants move in. Simple DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE SAVE TO TRAVEL OR EAT AT AN AUTHENTIC RESTAURANT

Every time I dine at Peace I m treated like family by the amazing staff. The service is always top notch, food is absolutely delicious and plated so well and the drinks are amazing and different than the average cocktails. Favourite place to dine at in town.

Received appalling service. Waited 15 minutes before anyone spoke to us- one waitress took the drink order and claimed our waitress was a bit busy . Our drinks arrive and another 30 minutes pass, without a single word or acknowledgment from the woman who was supposed to be serving us (as she bounced between the two tables beside us). It was truly entertaining by the end of it, the lengths this woman was going to, to blatantly avoid our table. She was sauntering around casually and certainly not busy . This has happened before to us with this same individual. The initial waitress returned and said she was now going to be serving us because the other woman was just so busy! One dish we ordered was simply not enjoyable and one bite was taken, we did relay this to the waitress who took it away- and was still on our bill despite not eating any of it at all. Perhaps consider rethinking the service you re providing and the blatant ignorance of servers.

Probably one of the better places I have been in a while. The food looked and tastes good. Drinks were good too. We went for lunch so menu was limited but I m positive the dinner menu would satisfy.

Wow. I don t know if we just got lucky, but it feels like this might be the best restaurant in Sault St. Marie. Other than the live musician who was a bit too loud, the atmosphere here is amazing. Very chill and peaceful, nice decor and very friendly people. We sat at the oyster bar and chatted with the executive chef a bit. It was really nice. And the food was INSANE. Just too good. We had the cauliflower bao buns, crispy roll, and albacore tuna crudo. We still don t know which one tasted better but the flavours and textures were so good. 10/10 would recommend

Gabrielle (Gaby) serving the entire outside dining area is an absolute credit to Peace Restaurant. Her knowledge (from memory) of menu items, willingness to adjust certain dishes to suit some ingredient intolerance, recommendations, and overall beautiful disposition is to be commended. Our thanks for making the evening memorable for 2 friends, one celebrating a milestone birthday. Chef, your talent shines through in the flavours and combinations of ingredients and spices, provided a meal that was outstanding. Wish this was available closer to home. Thank you both, especially you Gabrielle, for making this dining experience and birthday, so wondeful!

Amazing Oysters. They need to get Clams on the half shell and Steamers.

The food was overpriced, I ordered Tuna watermelon Ceviche. There was so much seasoning that you couldnt taste the tuna as little of it as there was. My husband ordered a bourbon neat. There was definitely not a full shot in the glass. Gluten-free options were limited, and the one we wanted was no longer offered. They had no AC running just a fan, and it was hot. Overall, it was not a great experience. On a side note, the wait staff were very nice.

I loved how the dishes here are re-imagined; it felt like I was trying snapper for the first time all over again.

Food was phenomenal, and definitely competes with some top notch restaurants in Toronto. We had the fried chicken baos, fried rice bites and Szechwan chili lime wings and would recommend all three. Our only problem was part of our order was misplaced but manager made sure everything was made right in the end. Seating inside and out front is very modern and comfortable.

This was a great experience start to finish. I booked in advance and got fast, helpful responses when I had questions. Our server was fun and had great suggestions. The whole team really looked after us. And the food was excellent. The dishes are creative and brilliantly executed. I will definitely go back next time Im in town.

If you are looking for good gourmet sushi then this is your place. Modern decor, clean, well situated and variety on the menu. Crispy roll and poke bowl stood out for us but others were not far behind.

ironically named peace avoid this place for poor customer service reasons. as a person of colour and minority, my family and I were uncomfortable and felt unwelcome by every staff member we encountered at this location. we booked a reservation for 5 at 8pm, arrived on time were asked to wait because our table was not yet available, we were told that we could be seated outside and have drinks in the meantime and when our table was freed, we could move back inside, which we agreed to. our outside table was not even set up properly, it was crooked and had to be fixed while we were already seated. there were no other tables set up for the patio either, it was strange that we were the only ones outside. anyways, our waitress was uninformed that we were still waiting for our table inside until we reminded her, she then had to check back with her coworkers. she returned saying the table is overspending their stay (2.5hrs) they have been here for more than 3hrs, asked us to wait another 20-30 mins. we were getting slightly agitated because why have a policy for 2.5hr seating time if it s not being implemented when needed. we waited to order our food because we did not want to eat outside. we got harassed by someone on the street, one of us went inside to inform them and ask if it was okay to wait inside as they felt anxious/unsafe, the staff were not concerned with our discomfort. No one was checking in on us in timely fashion. At 8:45pm we went back inside to chat with the staff about if they re implementing their business policy for seating times and how much longer we would need to wait for the table because it was getting ridiculous. The staff were extremely condescending and unapologetic, and at this point we were newly informed that whoever took our reservation wasn t supposed to as the table we were waiting on had requested extended seating time and that we would need to wait another 20-30mins for it to be free d up. This was not shared earlier and would have deferred us from waiting obviously as we were promised to be moved inside and it s moving to closer to an hour after our reservation. They compensated our drinks fortunately, but as we were about to leave they tried to get us to stay (almost an hour has passed since our original reservation time). we respectfully declined as we were very upset and bothered by how we were treated. honestly drinks were good and food looked great but it was not worth the experience we had & left a very poor taste in our mouthes. i hope everyone working there can learn how to communicate efficiently because it was astonishing how no one knew to firstly not take the reservation to begin with, and not pass that information over to us, then not have the waitress be aware that our party were to be moved back inside. they most definitely hoped we were okay to just be seated outside and it made us feel uncomfortable to be the only POC s there they tried to guilt trip us at the very end when the waitress attempted to get us to stay, as they then said the guests we were waiting on had just finished chemotherapy what does that have to do with us and our reservation time? and why tell us this sob story at the very end of our stay? we were not apologized to ONCE for waiting for an extended period of time, the lack of professionalism and lack of friendliness is disappointing.

Pros -food looked good (did not try though because we never got seated inside LOL) -drinks were good Cons -40+ minute wait -Staff doesn t care about your discomfort -Staff was not coordinated with making reservations -Girl with bug lashes was condescending + rude -Staff gave poor excuses for delay in seating despite having a reservation -Chef is a white dude even tho this is an Asian-fusion restaurant (no Asian staff either) -Policy for 2.5-hour seating is not implemented you may have to wait to get seated because the staff doesn t want to throw out customers that are overstaying their welcome DESPITE policy -Replies in Google Reviews are excuses -Take your L and use this as a teachable moment I am from the GTA and came to SSM with my family and wanted to check out the town. Very disappointed with how the staff dealt with my family. Dont bother with a reply Kevin, just do better.

Wowow, I havent met a restaurant that has hit all 5 stars in so long. Atmosphere is astounding, yet comforting. They played great music all night. Servers and staff were super friendly and fast with service. Food and drinks? Amazing. Outstanding. 11/10, would recommend.

We are from Toronto for the Agawa train heading Agawa Canyon Tour Train, As no good food on train, just Google and find Peace for our dinner, As we have no network whole day, we can not book a table, just walk in, all booked. Therefore we have to accept dinner at the bar table for a rush dinner. Order Oyster, so fresh with fresh horseradish, homemade vinegar is my choice. Poke bowl so fresh with variety sashimi. Taste good. Fired tofu, good but too much oil. Jalapeño Moscow Mule non achohol drink surely fresh you up. Great restaurant with good deco. Come back next time with my friends.

We were visiting Soo for the Agawa Train tour today...stopped @ Peace for Dinner tonight. It was a Yummy in ma Tummy experience! The Crispy roll and the Miso ice cream was the highlight...We were at the right place tonight

4 stars for atmosphere because the music was just a bit louder than what I would prefer. But it was not overbearing. Just left after my first experience there. Got to watch the fresh oysters being prepared. The gentleman was very polite explaining the process. 4 people in my party and we each tried each others dishes. Everything was considerably better than we expected. New personal favorite restaurant in Sault, ON.

I love that the menu changes seasonally. I really appreciate the variety as it keeps me going back to try new dishes. I find the restaurant scene in the Sault can get a little same old, same old so this is a big deal for me. I always walk away inspired when I come here and I cant wait to try some of their dishes and drinks in my own kitchen. The cocktail menu is also amazing and the desserts are delicious.

Peace is by far one of my new favorite restaurants! I had the pleasure of visiting while I was in town for work and it did not disappoint. From the cocktails, to the food - it was THE VIBE. The cocktails were delicious, and I cant even begin to describe how amazing the food was. We had the oysters, sushi and chicken bao buns. Omg. I literally cant stop thinking about them. You need to go.

I was in town on business and was running solo, so I sat at the bar for quality dinner. Travis was the bartender, and it was fun to watch him make a wide variety of fun cocktails. He had a great personality and was fun to chat with. The food was excellent. I recommend the oysters with the fresh shaved horseradish and garnishing. The tuna was excellent, and the snapper was some of the best flavor combinations I have had in a while. I highly recommend trying this as I will be making it a regular stop.

Everything we ordered was excellent! Finally got to try it out, and was not disappointed! Cant wait to go back & try more items from the menu!!! A must place to check out when in Sault Ste Marie ON! Support local!!

Really liked the idea they had a gluten free and dairy free option so people will able to decide quicker. But still not recommended by me for me. Easily found it on google but no sign outside of the restaurant. Had to go in to confirm. Very elegant environment, loved their interior and cozy environment. If I knew probably would have dressed up . Really wanted to try the shrimp dumpling but unfortunately it comes with pork dumpling that I cant eat for religious restrictions & chef refused to replace the pork ones with shrimp . It was weird even though I mentioned I cant eat pork at all, the waitress offered me to bring the whole meal shrimp n pork dumplings on my table so i can just eat shrimp ones separately . Still wanted to try something new so ordered their korean fried rice. Not sure if it is the recipe or the chef, so much salty I ate only half bcuz I was so hungry after all day of work and study . She even changed her voice and look when I said I need time to think as it is hard to decide if the you cant order items seperately like just tempura shrimp, fried mushroom or potatoes. Not sure it is bcuz I said let me think or bcuz of my color. Who knows. For drinks & convo might be a good restaurant as it seemed like they have a huge selection. I dont drink so I dont know. But posting a menu if it helps someone.

The chicken wings and braised pork belly bao buns were amazing. The Korean egg fried rice on the other hand was quite disappointing, too salty, too smoky like something was burned. Not too bad for a fine dining experience, but flavor wise, I think they need to work on their Asian flavor profile (if that s what they attempt to focus on).

Amazing food and drinks! My friend and I loved everything we ordered. The Whiskey Sage Sour and Dazed & Confused tasted so good. Can t wait to have the Beet Salad and Miso Ice Cream again. Service was excellent, we sat at the bar and were always looked after by the friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

AMAZING! Everything was perfect and so delicious. It is hard to pick one thing that was my favourite but I would definitely recommend trying the dumplings, maki rolls and the bao buns. Oh and I cant forget about the miso ice cream!! The service was impeccable and I will absolutely be back again soon.

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic - food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. We had a few palomas, the pork belly bao, the hot hot tofu, and the curry miso cauliflower and loved it all (but special shoutout to the cauliflower). Peace is exactly what the Soo needs and it will be my go-to spot whenever I visit home.

Food is fresh and high quality, service is excellent. Had the tuna tataki and salmon tartare, both a unique collection of flavors. Almost worth the 5 hour drive from WI to come back.

We went for after work drinks and shareable plates. Our server Christina was sweet and attentive. She was knowledgeable about drinks and menu items. We tried several drinks including a limoncello spritz, cosmopolitan, dragon fruit mojito and a specially prepared spicy jalapeño margarita. So so good!! We had seasoned edamame, fried chicken bao buns and the tuna Tataki which was presented so beautifully that it was almost too pretty to eat! The food was tasty and portions fairly generous. The decor is subdued and the place has a great vibe! We will be back! Soon!

A great looking spot in heart of the downtown across from the hockey arena. The staff was friendly and all the food was excellent. Bonus points for so many vegetarian and vegan options.

Great food, but our server Kristina . Knew our drinks before we finished looking at the menu, very attentive and was constantly available. The service was very exceptional and unheard of in the Soo.

This is not a sault ste. marie restaurant . This is as if i m in a modern metropolis. The menu is amazing. not typical dining. if you want country style this is not for you . if you like fine cuisine from around the world and flavours to wake the palette this is a must. Cocktails of all sorts without hesitation done perfectly. Matt has dialled a menu that keeps you wanting more . The staff are at eh top of their game from the moment you make a reservation to the pay point. Again nobody in Sault Ste. marie comes close . i have worked in the industry at many levels in a big city , a small town to everything g in between. Peace hits it all . Atmosphere, food, service , and just a great experience . Live music by the Hallow Heads provided a uniqueness that takes it even further . well done and thank you .

Queen Street needs more places like this. Forget Great Northern Road and it s boring sameness. The owners and staff of Peace understand that if you build it and make it awesome, they will come . Queen Street can come alive again if more investors and dreamers come together with great ideas. The food here is a wickedly adventurous and unique blend of several Asian cuisines. And their cocktails are well executed and very tasty. Great interior. I recommend sitting at the bar, where you can talk to the staff as they prepare your charred jalapeño and pineapple margarita. Amazing restaurant in downtown SSM. I ve been passing through this town for years when driving from Alberta to Southern Ontario and generally have either stayed in the hotel or opted to get fast food. I m really glad I decided to give this restaurant a chance because it really did not let me down. The servers were phenomenal and very personable. The vibe is poppin. The music was on point. The drinks were made to perfection and the food was delectable. I had the whiskey sage sour and the smoked old fashioned and it was out of this world. The daikon slaw was a bit messy but again worth it and the boa buns simply WOW. When it was time for us to head back to our hotel we were having trouble finding a cab/Uber and had spoke to the male server(can t remember his name) and he ended up finding us a ride from one of his friends. We will definitely be returning when back in SSM.

Absolutely not what I was expecting. A great addition to the town. Well, some additions are owed after getting out first tastes. The hot tofu is really something else. It has such a mix of sensations. There is a lot of crunch, spice and hotness, and the silky tofu. The Brussel sprouts are not too heavy or salty. Well done as well. Ok. On to the Korean egg fried rice. Looks and smells great. BTW, the service level here is beyond anything I ve experienced lately. They must be doing something right.

We were visiting Ontario from Iowa and had dinner with family at Peace. We tried numerous dishes, desserts and drinks and found everything unique and delicious. We especially liked the oysters, chicken wings and bao buns. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff was top notch. Our only regret is that we live 10 hours away.

I have to agree with all of the reviews of Peace; this restaurant is amazing! Everything we ate was delicious and it was hard to pick just one thing as a favourite since all the dishes were outstanding. However, after trying the cauliflower bao bun, I regretted having to share it. The desserts were presented beautifully - diet be damn! We cant wait to go back. Put this on your Bucket List, John Catucci, cuz You Gotta Eat Here!

Good vibes, and amazing cocktails. The family style/tapas menu gives you the chance to taste a lot which is great, but I felt that miso and sesame were over used in some cases. We ordered the beef tar tar and the only thing I could taste was miso instead of the beef flavour. The pork belly bao buns were very good though. EDIT: Thanks for the reply, perhaps it was an overuse of sesame that I was tasting. Regardless, the dishes were very good overall!

Always yucky. I love this kind of food in toronto because they do it well. The poor people of Sault Ste. Marie don t know what it s supposed to taste like as they have nothing to compare it to. Not one thing is ever good and I ve gone twice. I ve tried everything with no avail. If you re going to put something on the menue do it right.

Everything that we ordered was very good from both types of oysters to pork belly bao buns to the beautiful and delicious poke bowl. The cocktails were very cool and yummy as well. The generous glass of wine was also refreshing as some restaurants are completely ridiculous with their skimpy portions of expensive house wine. I can t wait to return to Peace restaurant to try other menu items that looked so good!

Really enjoyed our whole experience dining here. The food was spot on, good amounts of each plate, enough for two of us to get a good taste of each dish we tried. The serving staff had the balance of being attentive but not over doing just right. They clearly had a passion and good understanding of the menu, taking the time to explain each dish and it s contents. Good drinks menu with lots of local options for beer. Good desert menu, unfortunately nothing was dairy free but our server went out of the way to try her best to offer something. Recommend Peace to anyone looking for good quality tasty food at a good price.

Best restaurant in town .

Ok so my wife really wanted oysters so because we re from Toronto. Obviously we googled it while we were here. This place came up and had a decent rating so we said sure let s try it out. We ve traveled across most of Canada and tried some really great places. But I must say. This easily falls in my top 3. To top it off we had a first hand experience right in front of the food being made. It was absolutely incredible. The quality and unique flavors the chef has put together is in point. We tried many different dishes and even ordered some to have on our drive back to Toronto the next day. We make it a yearly trip up to the Sault and for sure we ll be back. Keep up the quality food.

We went here on our first date Saturday night. What an amazing experience!!! The atmosphere and the food were almost as beautiful as my girl. :) Highly recommend. there is nothing like this in Sault Ste. Marie. Our server (Im sorry I didnt get her name), was perfect and added to the night. I forgot to buy the kitchen a beer, but will buy two the next time we go. And, yes, we will be going back!
