I have been driving through the UP for work with my coworkers and we try to eat local when we can. We ve eaten at some pretty subpar places on our trip but Zorbas is AMAZING! The BEST Greek food I have ever had. The filo pastry is crispy, the tzatziki is chunky and flavorful, and the restaurant is very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend!

I think American Greek is accurate. It leans more on the American side with flavor. I was a bit disappointed with the salad. Lettuce was used in place of bell peppers. The dressing was a strong balsamic vinegarette. The tzatziki sauce on the Gyro was missing that fresh zing youd typically get with fresh homemade sauce. Overall the meal was good and I would eat there again.

One of the better restaurants in the area. Serious Greek salad and a gyro that you can really sink your teeth into. Try this place at least once during your stay in SSM.

Unless you re a local don t waste your time going to the Alpha Bar / Zorbas! Food was good but the service was the worst! Bobby K could not be bothered to do her job, she was too busy socializing with the other locals!

Awesome food! The only issue was the kitchen had radio on with punk rock so loud could not enjoy my food.

Zorbas has been in the Sault for many years. In the years weve been eating here, we have never been disappointed.

Love this place, gyro is top notch and huge! Greek salad is excellent, everything else looks really good (especially the burger) but I cant stop ordering the gyro and salad. Someday I might get to the other things.

We lived this place, sat at the bar and was immediately attended to. Great conversation from all the staff Onto the food.. Bruschetta wasn t what I was used to but still good, Hummus can be hit or miss.. pretty good just make sure you tell the bartender about your puppy tummy .

Nice find in the Soo. Fries outstanding. Gyro one of the best I have had. Big full flavorful. The side salad was sooo good. Olives feta onion and some slices of beet! Beet! When is the last time you saw a salad with beet?! It was delicious and fresh. Definitely stopping here again.

Great food, good prices but the pine sol table top cleaner was mega strong aromatically, interfering with the enjoyment of the meal throughout the dining experience. The server never returned to the table to check on our meal. My water glass was empty sitting on the edge of the table for three quarters of the meal. We frequent this establishment several times per month. Other times we havent encountered these problems. This restaurant and adjoining tavern are a mainstay in the area and were busy tonight.

I love eating at Zorbas. Whether you sit in the restaurant or The Alpha bar next door, the service is always top notch and the food is excellent.

We were in the mood for gyros so we went to Zorbas. We had a cold pitcher of a delightful light summer beer. I had the traditional gyro with a greek salad. The gyro was hot and had fresh tomatoes, lettuce and taziki I chose the side greek sald with had crispy lettuce, feta, kalamata olives, tomatoes, banana peppers and a great dressing. My husband had the chicken gyro. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. His fries were hot,salty and delicious. You cant go wrong with Zorbas.

Ordered greek salad. It was the worst tasting greek dressing I have ever had. Baklava wasnt very good. Waitress said they made it there. I dont think so.

Amazing service! Our waitress Halle was amazing and mentioned it was only her 3rd day of work! I had Combo #3 which included the most amazing gyro and greek salad I have ever eaten. My husband and I live 3hrs away but would consider driving to Sault St. Marie just for this food.

Excellent dinner, servings were generous, waiter was amazing! Small homey restaurant. If I didn t live 8 hours away I would come back often!

I thought it was too cramped & dirty, in my opinion. Service was very good . I found out I do not like lamb. I hope to never return. I just dont like Greek food, Im sorry for that .

Overpriced for a small amount of mediocre food. They charged $15.00 for a Greek salad with four little chunks of grilled chicken on it. The salad was the size of a side salad at other restaurants. I asked the waitress if it came with with pita bread. She said yes if you request it. Then when I got the bill I noticed she charged $6 extra for the pita bread. The waitress never checked on us, never refilled our waters, and I had to flag her down when we needed extra napkins. Definitely a waste of money as my kids are already asking for more food since they are still hungry after eating. Overall unpleasant experience I will not be coming back.

Best Gyro I have had in the state , I have had them in Greek town , and many cities from Monroe right to Sault Ste Marie, one of my favorite things to eat , Its so good and the Greek salad is perfect, the dressing is it , its so damn good , I could eat that salad everyday

We came for the Soo Locks but stayed for the gyros! Best bread Ive ever had in a gyro, because its freshly baked every day, not store-bought and rubbery. The chicken and tzatziki were perfect, too. The only thing crummy was the womens bathroom needed some serious attention (I cant speak for the mens).

Not my first time coming here, but I brought a friend who has never been and the food was excellent! We both had the gyro and salad combo with chicken skewer. A lot of good food for a decent price. All fresh. Good service. Clean restaurant. Would recommend.

Nice little local joint in downtown Sault Ste Marie Michigan. We love Greek food, so this was a great find for us. The reviews were decent, so we walked in & were seated pretty quickly even though the place was packed at about 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. The inside of this place smells like an old-timey diner. So nostalgic! My husband got one of their bugers with fries, and I got the chicken souvlaki with a Greek salad. My husband said his burger was excellent, and the fries were dynamite! I couldnt stop sharing them with him. :D My souvlaki was very well seasoned & nicely cooked. The chicken chunks were juicy and tender. The greek salad was on point, fresh & all the requisite components! The tzatziki sauce was the best Ive had anywhere. I do wish the meal had come with more feta, and at least one pita. But overall it was a terrific meal, and the server was very pleasant and efficient. We were jonesing for some baklava, but the person who makes it for them was off due to a family emergency, so no baklava. I bet its incredible, though.

I love this place! Its small, quaint, & makes you feel like you found this little place in Greece somewhere! I always order their gyro. Mmmm... AND their fries are SO delicious too! Clean, friendly, food AND prices are great! I DO recommend!

I love this place! Its very comfy, with great food. Even got some to go food to eat in the hotel and it was great the next day!

The food here is amazing! Our waiter was upbeat, friendly, and fun. He provided great suggestions to the food. I loved the feta fries, and my family enjoyed their house made grilled chicke pitas and gyro. My Caesar salad was delicious to the last piece of lettuce.

This place was really good! Ive been coming to the Soo for years, and finally gave it a chance. The pita was huge, and we got an order of Feta fries. I was really happy!

Great Greek American restaurant! The food was 10/10, the service was 10/10 & the atmosphere was 10/10. I felt like I was going into a relative s place with the old family photos & orthodox icon. They also own the Alpha bar next door. We will be back!

A wonderful change of pace. The food was outstanding. The service was great and the price is fair.

When we entered the restaurant, we where greeted right away and sat down and oder are drinks, After placing are order and slowly sipping are wine after 30 mins we finched are drinks and where asked of we would like a refills and declined and got some waters thinking are food would arrive quickly, We wanted an hour and 15 mins before getting the attention of another waitress as ares had totally forgotten us, and found out they lost are food. So we where offered free drinks on the house from the owner who was there and did not even come out to apologize for are long wait, in the end we waited an hour and half for food which was good but not worth the price tag, but the waitress which was over worked appolgized and made things right.

This was a great place to eat! My girlfriend had the grape leaves and they were excellent and really flavorful. The waitress who helped us was friendly, gave great suggestions and really kind. If you re looking for something beyond the typical burger and bar food this is a great place to stop.

We went to Zorbas for the first time ever on a Saturday night around 7pm. The restaurant was pretty full and we were drinking water so I asked for a pitcher of water which I was happy about because our waitress was very busy. Our order came after about 45 minutes and the Chicken Caesar salad I ordered was missing an ingredient that was listed on the menu. By the time our food came we were hungry so we ate and our waitress never came back to the table to check on us or see how we were doing. We had to approach the check out stand and ask for our bill and explained that the salad had come out wrong. The waitresses response was oh, $35.99. She did not apologize nor did she offer to make it right. This was a very disappointing experience.

Good Greek food at a good price. It is located in a space shared by the Apha Bar and both the bar and restaurant salute their Greek Heritage. The service was good, the portions large, and the food was pretty good too. We started with the calamari, then we all ended up ordering the Alpha Gyro plate, I wish I had ordered something else for no other reason than getting to try more of their food items. You can order food on the bar side, and drinks on the restaurant side. All and all the kids enjoyed their kid meals, the adults enjoyed their and we will be back.

This place is a gem. If youre at Soo locks and want to get a late lunch this place is an almost must. The portions are great. We had the Alpha meal which is a Gyro, fries and a drink. The fries themselves were incredible. Our server, Will was awesome, upbeat and made sure we had what we needed without hovering. We for sure will be back here when we come back to the Locks.

We were looking for great pizza in the Soo and didnt want to settle for a chain restaurant. We found it! Our server was great and extremely friendly. The pizza was fantastic! We sat outside and every person who walked by was envious of our pizza. Definitely stop in and have some Zorbas pizza!

Delicious! The house specialities were so so good, no doubt homemade. The bar turns 100 this year and it was very cool inside. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the waitress was very nice and the food delicious. Definitely recommend eating there.

Mice folks. Nice too. Even Nicene, if ye e credulous. The veggie Pita was simple and simply outstanding. Kid loved the chicken Gyro and the wings. Good coffee.

Waitress was not attentive, she did not visit to make sure everything was good with the food. Before it got busy she looked our way and did not ask if we were alright on drinks. I had to leave my table or once about the food and flag her down another time as she looked at me then looked away for drinks.

We had the 2 Gyros and a Caesar Salad. Service was good and the food was excellent. We will be going back for more.

The Best! My picky kid asks on a regular basis for me to drive the 9 hour trip just to go there, never mind the Locks or Natural Wonders surrounding us. Clean, well prepared Greek food served by an amazing staff. Our server was amazing and so kind. They were out of baklava when we were there. Looking forward to returning.

Best gyro Ive had in years

Best Greek food Ive had in years and did not expect it to be in the Soon (no offense to the area, but exciting food is not abundant). We got 3 entrees as takeout: the moussaka, the dolmadas, and gyro, with Greek side salads and fries. Everything was delicious, flavorful, fresh, and we immediately wanted more! The salads were especially surprising, packed full of fresh toppings and crisp lettuce, just what we wanted after a day of hiking and swimming at the beach! My only complaint is that when we called the order in they overestimated the wait time, so when we picked up our food it had gone cold. Not great and we were upset, but at least the food was still delicious. Cant believe how good it would have tasted had it been hot!

Great food. The pita chips appetizer is good. The tzaziki sauce is really good and the homemade pita chips are tasty. My gyro was good. Packed full of meat. Not spit roasted on-site, but still tasty. And the pita it came on was fresh and soft. A bit pricier than the Greek diners I am used to in the metro Detroit area, but I think its great we have Greek food up here. The eastern UP isnt exactly known for its variety of ethnic food! Overall, a great place to eat!
