We were sad to see this location being the only all you can eat in the Soo. We tried it as a group and it wasn't real Japanese. The sushi came warm and sadly every single one of us was sick after eating there. We'll try another location the next time we're in town. This wasn't the 1st choice recommended by the locals either. The tempura wasn't real and the non sushi dishes didn't seem to be cooked fresh and we thought they were frozen and cooked in store.
Not many options compared to other Japanese restaurants but their preparations are tasty, I love every bite. I will definitely comeback given the chance to drive up here again.
A great place to go if you want to eat so much you might poop your pants. The sushi was good, but not the best. The selection was amazing and the service was quick and friendly. We got to try a little bit of everything we wanted. You just get an iPad and click a plus sign next to the menu item to add to your order and it gets dropped off at your table in short order. They had a decent selection of desserts and alcohol to go with the meal. Desserts were included with the all you can eat but drinks were extra. The dining area was bright and decently clean, although pretty tight quarters.
Super friendly staff! Fast on several dishes and delicious ! This was my second time at this location and it was fantastic! This rating is based of this time specifically. This was better service and friendlier staff this visit. Also was cleaner this time.
To start I’ve been twice. The first was not good but we decided to give it another go for dinner. The service we had was fantastic, the girls in there are so sweet and helpful. The food was terrible. Next to no fish in almost every roll ordered and the taste and quality was horrendous. The worst sushi I have ever had hands down. Paying $85 for two people to eat sushi is not totally unheard of but when you’re gagging trying to eat the rolls and it’s not because your full but just disgusted should give you an indication of what it was like. Do not recommend. Pictures show what is depicted on menu vs what you get.
The food was fantastic. Food was quick and hot to the table after ordering. The Salmon Tempura was fresh and light tasting and perfectly cooked, definitely the favorite item of our group. The nearby tables were quite dirty, both on tabletop and below, but the staff were definitely trying their best to keep on top of it, between assisting customers and bringing tables their food. The table we were brought to was presented to us dirty and had to be wiped down thoroughly before we would be seated.
Shogun Sushi is a place I absolutely love, and I find myself visiting at least once a week. The taste is excellent, and the food is usually fresh, which is a major plus. The service is friendly and the ambiance is delightful. I genuinely enjoy my time spent there. However, I would be even more delighted if they had a loyalty program in place to reward their loyal customers. Overall, it provides a memorable experience with great flavors, fresh food, friendly service, and a beautiful setting. It's a place I highly recommend for sushi lovers.
Update: came here with my dad yesterday. It seems like things did not change. While the environment is clean and staff is polite enough it’s hard to flag them down for any extras if you need forks or sauces as sides. They’re busy, sure but the restaurant wasn’t packed and it lacked availability for eye contact. While I understand it’s all you can eat- the quality seems to reflect a price saving mindset. We ordered enoki beef rolls and the onion rolls and there was barely any beef to speak of wrapping the veggies. I’ll attach a photo. It also doesn’t specify in the menu that when you select you’re only getting one item- so I ordered shrimp tempura and was given ONE at a table or two. We did re order more but it seems as though it would be obvious to make it a double serving as a baseline? They have a high rice ratio and smaller filling ratio. The hand rolls were basically just rice. I found they skimped a lot which was not fun, especially since it was a seventy dollar meal for two. We’re paying for it. Sure, serve small bits a a time but skimping will not tempt me to return for mediocre quality sushi to begin with. It’s unfortunate this is the only location. Also on our arrival many of the empty tables were still dirty with crumbs all over. It wasn’t so busy they could not keep up. This just dampened the experience. Came here for lunch. We arrived when they opened at 1130 am. We ordered. They were very slow to pick up our orders even though there was maybe four tables total. We didn’t start getting food until around 1245. The food quality is the same- decent reliable sushi. But they took forever. By the time we were ready to pay at 150 pm they were bringing out items they hadn’t brought us yet that we had forgot about. People were lined up like crazy to get in, very disorganized not enough staff ? I don’t know. It was pretty awful. Only good part is we got to socialize for longer than planned. Maybe it’ll improve once they get into the swing of things.
I went here on a school field trip the employees were amazing and kind the food was great I highly suggest the sesame chicken they are fast and well organized my experience there was great if i could give 10 stars I would
Always great sushi and plenty of options be it the lunch menu or the dinner menu.
Excellent food , great service
Always love to go here food comes quick and is usually pretty quiet to enjoy your meal
I came here with a couple friends because they wanted sushi but I told the server I was not eating because I ate prior to comming, later on when we got the bills the girl that I told I was not eating still charged me full price for all you can eat sushi, was not pleases at all, had to day 45$ for one chocolate milk and dinner that I did not even order, not comming back
Food is NOT good...Service is NOT good. We were with a tour group. I guess they dont care for tour group...
Food was NOT good & neither is the service. We were with a tour group & I guess they dont prefer tour groups....
Delicious food, exceptional service, Great atmosphere, Highly recommend.
Shogun Sushi is by far the best and only All You Can Eat Sushi Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie. Id definitely recommend this restaurant especially if youre a fan a Sushi or Japanese food as they have a good selection of that as well.
Party of six for delicious birthday lunch. Excellent service of excellent food. Thank you.
Probably the best all you can eat sushi place in all of north America!!
Pretty Standard All You Can Eat Japanese Place. Miso Soup tasted odd. Ice Cream was gritty. Beef dishes were a bit overcooked. Sushi was okay. Chicken was good and tender. Udon Noodle Soup was great. Food was delivered fast, but the service is meh. Drink refills are slow.
Its a bit expensive but still good.
We were passing through town on the highway and wanted sushi. Our hotel was up the street so this was an easy choice. We ordered party plate A and some edamame. It was all fresh, very tasty and satisfying. The food was presented in a very appealing way. We live on the west coast and have lots of sushi choices. This would be our regular spot if it was nearby. Thank you, Shogun Sushi!
Awesome
As someone who had frequent AYCE in Toronto area, I had my doubts going in but overall, it was a solid meal. Sashimi and rolls were decent, the hot food was good. There was no surprises but it is honest quality Asian foods. Service was quick and friendly too.
Good as always
Excellent staff and selections.
Always busy but the staff were quick.Food was excellent.I only wish they used less cucumber in the sushi rolls
Very friendly staff. I didnt realize it was all you can eat until I sat down (my mistake). Of the 3 orders of mine (6 total) one was not correct but didnt bother to complain. Overall would go again knowing its ayce and not pop in for a quick bite .
We come to the soo every year for at least 10 days and always eat here, this visit the staff were great as always but the food was awful, 0 flavor some of it that we always order wasnt even edible, the sushi that was medioca fell apart and the slices of rice that hold it together were massive with very little in-between. Very disappointing to see the quality go down hill. We only ordered one round and that was enough for the 2 of us. Not worth the $100.
Always abit on the busy side, but thats because its an awesome place. Great quality food and decently quick service.
Ill be surprised if I dont get sick I dont like to complain ever but all the Asian dishes that should have been hot were as if they just came from the fridge and put on a plate , the raw fish was all warm almost hot ... cause for alarm there .. and I tried one before I realized . the service was amazing I just wish if this wasnt the only sushi place in town maybe they would actually try to produce quality . this is third time here and everything I leave wondering why I tried it again . I dont mean any ill will but I hope the owners pay more attention and start caring about what they put out .
10-10 I highly recommend this place to anyone that likes sushi. Well I dont like warm sushi, its its just made fresh its not warm its like fresh not in the fridge Im not used to that but its the most amazing food I find. For a sushi joint
Now I now what the fuss is about. Were recent migrants from southern Ontario and everyone we spoke to insisted that we had to try Shogun. My husband isnt into sushi but I ordered the beef short ribs and a soup for him and for myself various sushis Ive missed since relocating here a couple of months ago. The rice perfect texture and the nori just delicious, sushi was melt in your mouth. My husband was impressed with the short ribs, and hes fussy on those so that is high praise. Glad I finally tried them! Went back after a lengthy hiatus due to illness. It was AWESOME, I dined in for an all-you-can-eat but OMG my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to roll myself out LOL About a month and a half later I was craving Shogun Sushi (again) and placed an order online with UberEats for delivery. Never again, they are a terrible service. But I called the restaurant as I knew it wasnt their fault and they were terrific about things. Lesson learned, I will call the restaurant directly to place an order next time (they also have their own online ordering system). They have now been elevated to my favourite existing sushi place anywhere. Many of them have closed during lockdown and am really thankful that this place survived!
Worst sushi ever make s grocery store taste great
Awesome
Food
Takeaway, beef teriyaki 14.25 The beef strips are chewy and cannot be eaten with rice, the dragon ball with crab meat wrapped in avocado, and the fried rice tastes okay.
Japanese fried chicken Why is it Chinese egg fried rice?
We always go at the place once a month.. a place where we can eat our favorite sushi.. We miss asian foods Food
Not happy and not satisfied with the food and services we don t get any special food even though we order it and we just get all types of there chicken and we re so upset about it.
Great staff, sushi and prices. My go to spot whenever I m in Sault St. Marie for work :)
Gyoza was good. Negimayaki had barely any beef on the rolls but for the price decent. Katsu Don although the cutlet was very thin and somewhat chewy still good flavor and a good amount of food for the price. The beef Yaki udon had average noodles, not very flavorful, not much beef or broccoli beef was dry and a few pieces were extremely chewy. Rice is pretty good though.
Katsu Don is not great (very thin and dry) but alright for price. Beef Yaki udon dry beef some bits very chewy not very flavorfu,l noodles cooked okay. Gyoza is good.
I have much better at other sushi places, they dont have a wide selection to choose from, but its better than no sushi place at all
Polite, fast service and a nice price Parking: Alot of space Kid-friendliness: Family environment
I do appreciate not having to make my own sushi but Shogun Sushi has turned into a disappointing experience for me. I pretty much only order takeout because I don t eat gluten. I usually order their Alaska (salmon avocado) Roll and salmon sushi. Both of those products are rarely consistent in size which is ok when you are doing all you can eat, but disappointing when you get your order home and some pieces don t even contain salmon. Today s salmon sushi was made with different cuts of salmon - not sure what that s about. The ginger in the little cuplet was both scant and dry today. I do want to mention that the rice was exceptionally well seasoned and delicious! I love that the Alaska roll is usually coated in sesame seeds , but not always I m also hoping that management reads these reviews because I want to comment on how unclean the restaurant is, the floors are full of food and I remember the tables not being wiped properly the few times I ve eaten in. My visits are becoming less frequent as I m seeing your quality go downhill.
Everything was really good. No complaints.
Amazing staff very friendly, kind, and accommodating. I absolutely would go back in a heart beat.
5/5 too good.
Service is horrible takes our order for drinks and dosnt come back for 20 minutes ,,, there 5 other people in the restaurant not like its busy,,,25 minutes for our first round of food to come put and another 25 for our second round,, they expect 35$ a person but can even bring your food in a reasonable time
I ve been here a few times but was extremely disappointed in the service & food over Valentine s Day. I came out with 2 friends and a baby, I knew it was going to be busy and that was fine. What wasnt was me having to keep flagging waitresses down for water, clear the table and to see if items were coming. Them to find out it was sold out which no one told us and it was still on the menu to order. Eating with a 1 year old is hard enough but waiting 2+ hours and only receiving 6 items, leave hungry and have a hair in it was very very disappointing. I left 30 mins before close after being very very disappointed and frustrating. I even found a hair in my soup then was told oh okay, have a goodnight after the soup was given to me moments before... like what?!
If your a sushi fanatic then Id say Shogun is the best place to go! Soooo worth the wait times at times. Always fresh and super flavourful! Just be careful when it comes to dinner time as that is their busiest time but sooo worth it! Food : 5/5
This has been my go to sushi place since it first opened at its original location. The quality, I find is hit or miss, but its generally good. The price increase, however, is a bit ridiculous. I understand that costs have increased everywhere and inflation has had an impact, but I cannot justify spending almost $90 for dinner for 2. Id rather spend that elsewhere for a plated meal. Its unfortunate that this has become the new norm.
Amazing
Foods excellent, haven t eaten this fast in years. The black pepper beef is my favourite
So busy! Theyre always on top of everything. Top notch.
This is an establishment that I have frequented at for both eat in & take out. Food is consistently of good quality & taste. Staff is always wonderful. Tables & dish ware are kept cleanly. And atmosphere is pleasant. Prices are considerably high, but everyone has been affected from inflation. 10/10
If you love sushi good place to go.
Food was OK but not the greatest Ive had better the service was good very prompt and the atmosphere was ok
Ordered some Ching Ching food, was waiting longer than usually. Atmosphere is nice, and good amount of protein. I will come next time with my extra rice for snack Parking: It s ok.
Marked down to three stars due to the cost now. With nothing extra it was just under 40 bucks a head with taxes. Shogun seems to be increasing their prices due to a lack of competition as its not in line with inflation. I know food prices have gone up, but this seems excessive for a buffet. I didnt feel I got my moneys worth, and wouldnt feel I had unless I had eaten an unhealthy amount of food. Probably the last time I will be going there unfortunately
The freshest Sashimi Ive had in a long time! Blows any Sushi restaurant in Sudbury, ON, out of the water. Service is a little sloppy, but the food makes up for it. Food
Love the food and comes out in a timely manner.
One of our fave resto here in the Soo... Great food... Great team...
Food is ok, service is inconsistent
Wonderful place to fulfill your sushi desires!
Always great food and sevice, not going to dock points for them forgetting to remove the avocado from a couple of rolls.
We were visiting from out of town. We were asked to go here with some family from the Soo. We waited and were told it would be a bit, meanwhile there was an empty table. We had five of us. When my wife mentioned about the empty table, it was like it was a big deal to seat five people, three of which were smaller women at a table with a bench seat and two chairs. Shockingly we made it work just fine. The food was decent, however pretty slow to come out and it took a while to remove the dirty plates from the end of our table so dishes kept piling up.
Parking: Big Wheelchair accessibility: Great Food : 4/5 |
Overpriced. Ever since the competition went out of business they jacked up their rates
Very nice place fast service food was delicious but prices abit high, if seated near door no matter weather you have to deal with that issue Kid-friendliness: Maybe some tvs with kids shows
Great service very busy
Terrible service 109 dollar Order and when I called to see why we de Didn t receive chop sticks or wasabi or soya sauce Tiffany said well you didn t order any!! rude as hell ! she said now you know for next time. Wow great customer service .
VERY ACCOMMODATING LOCATION IS CONVENIENT EXPECT LONGER WAIT TIMES DURING RUSH HOUR 1) EVERYONE knows how EXPENSIVE groceries are nowadays, so dont complain about the price 2) Yes , the food is not authentic but you ARE NOT in Japan or in a big city so maybe lower your expectations? 3) SURPRISE but its ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT NOT ALL-YOU-CAN-WASTE 4) I agree with the service, it can be inconsistent, but we all have bad days. We are HUMAN. Customer POV: **TIPS**
The food is good. But the customer service is terrible. Servers didnt greet us nor check our table. Most tables were not cleaned too.
Amazing they brought the lunch right away and were really nice not only that you get to pick your meal bye iPad and Oder as much as you won t and it was really nice and clean in there!!
Friendly staff, great food, definitely will visit again
Yeah I highly suggest you don t come here. We had a waitress that only speak to us once and when I mentioned that I had an avocado allergy, she just brought the sushi avocado and said chefs already made it, nothing we can do . When my father suggested i just pick it out, the waitress just put the plate down and walked away. I was not able to pick out the avocado. Food wasn t great. It was soggy, oily, and most definitely not what we wanted. Maybe just a bad night, but we ll most definitely never come here again.
Love the tempura yam maki rolls, the fried rice and veggies are really good. Definitely leave here stuffed every time! Vegetarian options: Have quite a few options for vegetarians :)
Foods delicious deliverys a bit expensive though my favorite foods are the sesame chicken, edamame and green dragon roll
Loved the service and food Dietary restrictions: Nut allergy staff very helpful Food : 5/5 |
Food was quick and nicely presented. Service was friendly. Unique order via tablet ensured accuracy of order. Eat everything you order. There is a wastage fee.
Fast service amazing crew sana all front desk!
One of my fav all you can eat restaurant, a bit pricey but for my family its worth it because of the choices of foods to choose are quite a lot, and their grilled salmon is very good, fresh sushi because made by order.
Really good food, good price for all you can eat, and the food comes out reasonably fast. Its tablet ordering which makes things run smoothly
Enjoyed many dishes shared. Will definitely eat here again. Parking: The parking lot has lots of room not all people park respectfully or equally which can make this parking lot a little awkward when it is very busy Food : 5/5 |
Excellent sushi buffet. Great variety and very well prepared and presented.
The service was bad. Servers were not very welcoming. The food is bad. The sushi is soooo dry. Wont recommend this and i wont go back to this restaurant.
Ive never been to a restaurant where the service was so fast and polite. We enjoyed the food, the service, and the fellowship around the table. Thank you!
Excellent food and good serving Parking: Good Parking Spaces
Always have a great experience every time I go there. Because it is always busy thats why sometimes service is slow. A lot of employees that worked since the beginning are the best. The BEST SUSHI restaurant in the town. I dont eat raw fish so I didnt know if there would be anything for me, but so much variety. Highly recommend (if u r like me) shrimp tempura, beef skewer, General Taos chicken, Chicken Friend rice, egg sashimi, spring roll, yam tempura, green dragon roll, cheese wonton & sesame chicken. Parking: Lot of parking but a lot of times usually packed especially in the evening and night. If you go for lunch around 11 or 12, you will find it easier to park.
They food is great. Never a long wait. Good prices. Excellent service. I would highly recommend
Poor customer service, food wasnt appetizing what so ever. Employees here think its okay to proof read someones resume when they arent even a manager, as well as start talking negative about said persons resume Food
Really good food, good quality, good choices and staff was very patient with hyper son who was overtired. Thank you guys
So let me explain, all is actually 5 stars if they are not busy.... Once busy food and service goes way down....
I have always enjoyed the quality of the food, the friendly staff and the quick service I have received at Shogun. This is a family favourite and we try to go as much as possible
So good, love everything and stay for a few hours Vegetarian options: Plenty of meat-less options Dietary restrictions: Im sure that whatever restrictions you have that you can find something to eat here Parking: Plenty of parking and easy to find Kid-friendliness: We always bring our kiddo Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible
The food is good. But the customer service is terrible.
Very quick service, excellent sushi, our waitresses were super fantastic. Will visit again..yummo!
Shogun is reasonably priced and the food is absolutely wonderful, the staff is amazing and service is excellent. Its one of my favorite restaurants, and I look forward to returning.
Absolutely trash service. Drink not refilled or ever asked if we needed anything else. And no we were not ordering all you can eat so ordering on the tablet was not the issue. Udon noodles were tasteless and lacked any seasonings at all. All the dishes the food was served on were chipped and nasty. Floors were covered in trash, little receipts and food particles everywhere. I would love to see the kitchen . Save yourself, Salmonella poisoning and $125 and go elsewhere! I left a 10% tip and that was for the interior designer please see that they received the tip!
I am First Nations and usually go to shogun sushi once a week to enjoy their dishes and have a good dining experience. Their Maki rolls are the highlight of my week during my days off. However, my recent experience was not good due to Caucasian prioritization. The waitresses there are really nice and are very accommodating, but one in particular catered to the other Caucasian customers first and got their orders to them on time even though I ordered long before them. While this kind of treatment isnt new to me or my people nevertheless I was still surprised by it and I felt unwelcome. I will give this restaurant one last chance and if I am treated equally the same as other customers then I will change my review. Update: I went there again and this time the waitress who prioritized Caucasian customers wasnt there. The other waitresses though, as usual, were nice and accommodating and I got my food hot and not cold. I give them 4 stars for the good food and nice accommodating staff, but this restaurant would have gotten 5 if not for that one waitress who prioritized caucasian customers over non-caucasians.
First time Ive been here and I was really pleased with the interior design. Our waitress was energetic and kind. The variety with what was being served on the menu wasnt overwhelming and the taste for what I did pick out was spot on with what I expected. The food was delicious! I wish I had the ability to come here more often since Ive wanted to for a few years now but just hadnt worked out.
I enjoyed it there, The food was great in a buffet standards
Terrible customer service. Totally ignored by the staff , specially for delivery pickups.
Pretty awesome place. Nice interior & good sushi, people in reviews, who complain about the service: what do you expect in all-you-can-eat where waitresses have to bring dishes to tons of tables at the speed of light? You order food and then they bring it to you little by little throughout the course of the meal. Waitresses are friendly and polite, but they dont have much time on hands for complicated, picky customers and lengthy conversations. We didnt have to wait long, food started arriving less than 10 min after the order. It s an excellent place, great fresh sushi, everything very clean & efficient. Don t trust reviews of 1 star, I don t see the reason why some people made such ratings
The place was packedand the wait staff were running to keep up! Food was delicious and fast. Dietary restrictions: Very attentive to my gluten allergy Parking: Lots of parking for free Kid-friendliness: Many kids dined while we were here. Wheelchair accessibility: Entire place is accessible
Went for birthday lunch. Large maggot crawled across plate of a Crab sushi pizza. Told a worker. They were polite and comped the meal as we hadnt eaten yet. But obviously this place is not clean etc. Will not be back obviously. Dissapointed
Great value, delicious food. If doing the all you can eat order small portions at a time. They are super fast and you can always re order!
Vegetarian options: Lots of choices. Kid-friendliness: Open for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
Great spot. Was my first time there. Would go again most definitely.
Honestly very, very disappointing. Ordered 65$ worth of sushi, crab and tempura tonight. The tuna isnt fresh, you can visibly see that. The maki are the smallest rolls Ive ever seen, no value for money. The soft shelled crab even didnt taste good, and it actually made me gag..and thats saying a lot bc thats my favourite food! Not only this but the order of 3 sushi rolls came with NO WASABI. Rolls without Wasabi are useless to me. Im so sad!
The food was good, which you order off of a tablet and was sent directly to the sushi chefs. It was pretty quick, about 10 minutes from when I placed the order to when it arrived. The wait staff was quite friendly. I would go back when I pass through town again
Cant say enough good things. My girlfriend, Tracy, has a gluten allergy and they are always so accommodating. One of their servers, Tiffany, always gives Tracy a separate iPad to order from, and it automatically alerts the kitchen that any orders from that device should be gluten free. Thank you!
We live in the US, but this has become a new month tradition for us! Their sushi is the best around and so many options! Plus the little udon bowls fill me with happiness. If I could give 10 stars I would Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options, but not a ton. Kid-friendliness: My kid *loves* eating here. Theres more then enough cooked rolls and other foods to keep him happy
Lunch time is best time to go. Supper is pretty expensive here
A faveourite spot of mine for lunch and dinner, a vast menu for both food and drink, a comfortable atmosphere, and friendly service.
Food was great other than noodles
Fast service, good variety, tasty sushi. What else could you want?
Ordered takeout food, hostess was informative and thought of everything we would need. The food was amazing, soya sauce was made in the restaurant and so worth it! I recommend the cheese wonton the sauce was also amazing.
Very rarely do I have anything bad to say about a restaurant but my goodness this was BAD bad. $75 and we couldnt even eat it. Everything tasted and smelled like it went bad a week ago. Very small rolls.. The broccoli tempura was good but all the sushi we order was rank.. If you dont care about what youre sending out. Just quit. Shameful.
Amazing sushis, the servers were really kind and ready to answer all our questions. Service was fast.
We had the buffet. Sushi is good. Sashimi is good but limited. Chicken wings tasted bad, almost spoiled and the bones are really dark which is a sign that they were old, reheated multiple times. The beef teriyaki was the same - chewy and looked really dark as if already reheated multiple times. Soup is good. Fried rice and salmon teriyaki are ok.
Food was served quickly by servers that were very nice. Good, fresh food. All you can eat option is appreciated when you eat as much as I do!!
Shogun sushi was a very pleasant place to enjoy Asian cuisine. I came on a Saturday night in a group of four. In my group I was the only person participating in the all-you-can-eat experience and I was very happy with my experience. Typically I avoid Asian restaurants as I am someone who is not a big fan of rice and noodles which limits my palate significantly but there were menu options that worked for me in spite of that. I also went out of my comfort zone to try some sushi and even though I can confidently say I do not like salmon, the portions were small enough to finish the dish anyways to avoid being charged for waste. I highly recommend this place for anyone willing to dip their toes into different foods without wanting to commit to ordering a full dish. For those who would rather not participate in the all-you-can-eat element of Shogun Sushi, the other members of my group were very happy with their portion sizes for the price. Everyone brought home leftovers (excluding me). The only criticism I have is that I was not informed in advance when the kitchen shut down. I was finishing up at that time so it didn t inconvenience me but I would ve still preferred if there was a last call incase I wanted to put in some last minute dishes. All in all I would go back if I ever found myself in the area again. Vegetarian options: Several members of my group were vegetarian and they enjoyed their meals as well as their options!
I like the experience and the atmosphere was also good. The only thing which i feel bad was the customer service.
This place has gotten WAY better since it relocated. I thoroughly enjoyed my last visit. Went for lunch with my sister, she loved it too.
Garbage all over the floor and the chairs are dirty with oil spots on them. Food are not fresh. Chicken wings are black and spoiled and smells bad. Same for beef teriyaki. Miso are extremely salty and curry are too spicy. We went there for a buffet on a Saturday night. They close at 10:30pm and the last call is 9:45pm but they took your iPad and didn t let you order at 9:40pm. Bad customer service and no respect to us. Terrible experience.
long waiting, poor ambiance, food not the best and they dont put the price of anything. you get the surprize at the end. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for what you get
Food was ok but their one price all-you-can-eat seemed a but high for an average appetite. We ended up ordering a couple items off the al acarte menu. Wonton soup nearly a meal in itself. Somebody really needs to get busy and clean all those glass lights overtop the dining tables. Never seen anything so dusty in a restaurant before. Staff were friendly
Need professionalism. Rude behaviour
When its good, its good. When its not good its OK. It really varies but it hits the spot
They never fail to amaze me. Great food. Excellent customer service. Amazing atmosphere, and they deliver Food
Great experience as always. Been here many times. The sushi and tempura are great. Nice waitress staff. I have been here many times and will return. YUM!
The worst customer service received since I arrived in Canada. Server is not smiling at All! As if she is not happy to serve the food, like she just had the worst problem in life. And when We paid, we are shock because the amount that we need to pay is almost double what is expected. TAKE NOTE, they are not giving the options if you want to give TIP, its automatically in the receipt- 15percent. TIP is fine as long as youve got the service that you are looking for.
Delicious sushi. Friendly and fast service.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes Food
Not impressed that my 14-year-olds and their group of friends felt taken advantage of today when they went for dinner. None of the 6 felt like the menu and prices were explained well and they paid almost $30 each for a couple of pieces of food.
Someone who knows authentic Japanese food will know that this is not an authentic Japanese sushi place. Mind you there chicken teriyaki is still delicious but I ordered two bento box and even though my order was complicated I still paid extra for every item that I changed I ended up spending $50 on two bento box. When I got to my destination and I opened the meal to eat it I noticed that couple of the things that were missing. Both of the tempuras were incorrect and we were missing all of our sashimis. Specifically ordered sriracha sauce and I didnt even receive that their chicken teriyaki roll has nothing but chicken rice and avocado in it Ive never seen such small rolls. When I called the next morning and spoke to one of the girls she told me that Ill be able to get two bento box replaced and when I called her back after to inquire what had the manager said she had mentioned that well just replace the item that was missing. Which I think is ridiculous because they should replace my meal because I ordered it as a set not to eat it individually.
Nothing to write home about. Service was fair. Prices were fair. Food was fair.
Staff was sooooo helpful and kind...great food!!!!
Soooooooooooooo delicious. Ive been attending for at least 10 years and wouldnt have it any other way. Only complaint is that I always eat them out of Mango Pudding. Hahaha.
The server was a bit feisty at the end but it was the end of the night.
Very rude customer service and the server was behaving with a lot of attitude. Dont even talk to the customer. This was the best restaurant I liked but not anymore.
One of the best sushi places I have ever visited in my life. The taste is very similar to the sushi served in Japan. Every time I go to Sault Ste Marie, stopping at Shogun is a must!
Sault Ste Maries best sushi restaurant hands down. Sometimes when you order 10 sushi you only get 8, other than that its pretty awesome.
Good
Food was very unpleasant except for the seaweed salad. An hour after finishing up I got food poisoning for over 20 hours and felt very sick! Do not recommend
Nice place, easy access, good food. Service is lacking (water spilled on the table early on, and it never got wiped even after bringing food to the table several times). Fixed price for all you can eat, so be hungry (taxes and tip cost us $40 per person).
Everything was good, just the rice was very greasy, and sesame chicken was very salty and greasy as well I wouldnt recommend getting any fried rice or sesame chicken, sushi there is awesome tho Parking: Was good
Great all you can eat place in sault ste marie. Very convenient , friendly servers, professional approach and clean place. Food tastes really good. It gets busy at dinner time.
Great experience every time and the food is always so fresh!!
I ordered hot water and it took a long time to get it. Without asking me if I had finished my meal, they quickly cleared the table and said we were wasting it, and deducted the fee. It was a very bad experience.
