The quality of short eats is the worst. I bought samosas from this bakery. The samosas were simply thawed. They were cold the owner had not bothered to refry them. Simply straight from the fridge to the counter for sale. Interesting enough , the level of salt was vet high in daal Bara and Methuen Bara and spicy potatoes balls. This owner is selling BP and cholesterol to the consumers. I would never advise anyone to go. If you and find these issues ,tell the owner.

This restaurant establishment sells chicken noodles which tastes like seafood noodles. Make it make sense. Most definitely not eating any meals or produce purchased from this storefront no matter who buys it and brings it home. Absolutely disgusting. Food

Ideal place to buy Sri Lankan food.They have varieties starting from rice and curry,biriyani,string hoppers,pittu,kottu roti,dosa to bakery items such as roast bread,fish and veg bun,patties,rolls ulundu wadai and masala wadai. Recommend the fish patties which is so flavorful.There will be a line up after 5.00p.m.

The kolli pukkai is amazing. Large portions and very tasty. I believe the restaurant has been renovated recently. The staff is very nice as well

Best veggie kothu roti IN THE WORLD! They also have amazing veggie rolls! The customer service from this place is first class. Its also super great that theyre open on holidays like Christmas. Ive been going here for many years now and Id give it a 10 star if I could.

Rouge Bakery is your classic Sri Lankan takeout spot. They have the typical hot table setup with various curries, carbs, and short eats. It caters towards that community so the food is very authentic. Every item provides very good value. Some of my typical go-to items are the kothu roti, yellow noodles with chili chicken, and any of the short eats (mutton roll, fish cutlet). Be aware that getting into and out of this plaza can be difficult.

Had food poisoning.Dont know why they are selling rotten foods Unhygienic and unhealthy food Stay away from this place.Don t forget to check what you pay for and how much you pay!i buy a masala tea,asked the guy at the front for a receipt,he asked me why,what kind of question is that.he has to understand,we are in canada not in back home,in canada what ever your selling it needs to give a customer copy of the receipt.CRA should investigate this place sooner,they are doing lots of cash dealing her.not register under HST,thats why they are scared to give receipt.everyone make sure before you buy something from this place..

Rice/Curry & Biryani food quality is very poor. Food is rotten/spoiled + increase in their prices lately noticeably after new renovations. Very disappointing, this used to be a very good restaurant. Waste of money & time. Not to mention health & safety hazard which was reported

Extremely rude staff, not accommodating at all. wouldn t make any sandwich because those are only made in the morning meanwhile it was still morning and they offered no options with no meat. (I am a vegetarian) if you re a vegetarian don t bother with this place for lunch it s full of pork, ham etc etc

I love going here for Mutton or Chicken Kothu Roti, and their mutton rolls are delicious! Sometimes it can get busy during lunch and dinner rushes but they re always pretty speedy with their service.

My son went to buy bread for $2. He waited over 30 mins. Just for a $2 bread, he waited that long. How can they do that? Not Fair. They should have separate lines for some one who is going to buy a few items compared to someone who is going to buy many items

I have visiting this place since 1 year. I think no other restaurant can match their price. My favourites are Fish patty, mutton role, and masala tea.

Friendly Customer Service, great variety of food which is delicious and mouth watering.

Great tasting rolls, patties and kothu. They have a lot of other options other than these typical Tamil dishes. Line ups are usually long so order ahead. If you do call in half the time they wont ask a name before they hang up. When you go in let them know you ordered ahead to avoid waiting in the regular line. You can see how much of a staple of the community they are when you see people of many different ethnicities patiently waiting to take Rouge Bakery goodies home.

Mutton bun does not even have mutton, then why is called mutton bun. Just called it curry bun

HANDS DOWN - One of the most underrated places in Scarborough! This place is superb when it comes to the preparation of meals and what they offer for the price. Food is fresh, delicious, and always prepared consistently. I think the owners are SriLankan (forgive me if you are not), but they are hard-working and kind people. As I am not familiar with the language , sometimes I feel like I struggle when there, but again, they are kind people, and we manage just fine. Short eats are excellent along with all their Kothu Rotis and meat dishes. Parking is hit or miss as the strip plaza is often congested! Wishing this business extremely well! Update [9.29.23]: Whats happened here?? They dont answer their phone anymore (for orders), and the menu boards arent working (at least when I was last). For those who dont speak the language... this is a deal breaker. Also... lots of new front-end staff. I hope things revert back to the way they are. I would hate that non related food issues become an ongoing concern

Good for kotthu Rotty, fish patties, and other short eats. Rice curry is not that great . same with the buriyani. Corli pukkai is very hot. Call 20 minutes before you go.

Huge disappointment as a customer He said that he had ordered a bunch of mutton, but when he came to get it from the store, he said that what they had was from those who had already ordered it. I said that I also placed an order and was told to come and collect it over the phone Immediately the worker went inside angrily asking who said that and did not answer me and started looking after other customers. My biggest disappointment was that there was no error on my part Are your friends & relatives running the shop for charity or for commercial purposes? Correct the mistakes

Place looks bit messy, needs more cleaning. Cashier was trying to charge more, this is the second time it happened. Avoid the place, even if you go there, make sure to ask price for each item. They dont provide receipt, so they say random total amounts. On my last visit yesterday, they are accurate with pricing and their chicken patties is very good for that price.

Wish I had taken pics of the place and what i chose to try. As this was an unexpected stop early Sunday morning. It turned out to be a delightful one !! The bun were super soft n tasty, though I didn t expect sweet cream in between two buns.. making it a cream bun. Next was the masala medu vada, crispy n full of taste, though a lil too oily I was always familiar and loved aalu bun, surprise onion bun.! The least tasty of all but none the less was good. I found chai could have been a lil sweeter, ppl on my side found it just right

Yesterday I bought briyani from this store and they give me rotten food. This not the first time after renovation they are giving rooten foods and charging more price. Quiet pathetic.

Update: They have renovated the interior since my last review. The place looks amazing and air quality improved a lot. This is one of my go to places to get takeout of SriLankan food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The quality of the food is great and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint and the reason for 4 stars is the smell of the place. Make sure you dont wear your expensive jackets in winter. You are going to have to send that jacket for dry cleaning. A kind request to the management - please work on a better ventilation.

Everything here is SPICY if you are having a party with alcohol order your snacks here on a regular day. If you a are having prayer meeting with seniors you ask them to make mild dishes and they will make it to meet your needs. mutton buryani. Fried shrimp, fried , mutton (goat)curry, chicken curry . Take out only, lots of parking. They are following the Covid protocol.
