Mouthwatering food with great service were the star of my visit to Lobongo. I personally tasted Kichuri and Beef Kala Bhuna and I would highly recommend it. (Siraj bhai best)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lobongo, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a fantastic meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect throughout our visit. The food? Absolutely amazing! Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, and you could tell everything was made with love and care. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. I also appreciated the wide variety of options on the menu, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of spicy dishes or prefer something mild, there's something for everyone. Lobongo is truly a hidden gem in Scarborough, and I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and exceptional service.
Visited this Bangladeshi restaurant with a colleague based on his recommendation, and it did not disappoint! Our group of four ordered a variety of dishes, including chicken biryani, mutton kacchi biryani, beef tehari, khichuri, and borhani. I tried both the biryanis, and they were delicious. However, I particularly loved the chicken biryani for its balanced flavor. The meat was tender, and the rice was perfectly spiced. The use of local Chinigura rice instead of the usual long-grain Basmati added a unique touch and brought a sense of homecoming to our taste buds. The service was also quite good. I would definitely visit again.
We went to the restaurant to have launch. The food items were pretty expensive but that’s not the main issue. The food portions they served at this price range was so less it could barely even serve one people forget about sharing with others. The tandoori chicken was so small you could eat it one bite. They don’t serve any kind of sauce with their kabab items which most of the restaurants provide. You cannot even finish one nan with a single order of kabab. We ordered 3 orders of their expensive item beef Kala bhuna but it was mostly oil,fat and bones about 70%. We could barely find meats to chew on. Their customer service was not good at all. The employees were sitting and gossiping all the time instead of serving us which was very sad. Food taste and environment was decent but considering the price, portions and customer service I cannot give it more than 1 star. If they don’t fix these issues they are gonna be in some big loss.
One of the best restaurants in town !!! We had an excellent experience with this restaurant, food was ten on ten.. !!! Their chicken polaw and beef tehari is mouthwatering 👌
One of the best Bangladeshi restaurants I have been and I visited almost all high end and/or mid-level Bangladeshi restaurants in Toronto. Food was really tasty, the stuffs were amazing and the environment was beautiful. What else is needed!!!
We went to Lobongo Fine Dining to celebrate after a recital with authentic Bengali cuisine. We loved the food there and the place was clean. However, the service was terribly slow and what struck us most was that the place was not at all busy at that time. There were only 3 tables (1 of which was a large group of 10 to 12 people) booked and the large group left not too long after we entered. Our server was nice though, not sure if they were under staffed in the kitchen!
Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! We got the Chicken Roast and Polao. My parents used to call me 飯桶, literally meaning "rice container" because I loved to eat rice, and a lot of it as well. Now I'm assuming that nickname again, indulging in biryani and polao. Firstly, the chicken roast and polao was the highlight of my week, I would've been satisfied with just the rice itself. Perfectly cooked, flavoured with cardamom, and cinnamon for a slightly warm and sweet fragrance, that had been fully infused with the coating of ghee in each grain of rice and topped with caramelized onions too. The chicken was also covered with those savory onions along with a savory, rich curry sauce that'd been made to go with the rice as well.
Avoid This Restaurant at All Costs! My family and I recently visited this restaurant for the buffet, and it was an absolute nightmare. While eating, I found a DEAD BUG in my food. It was fat, had long lines, and was clearly not something that should be anywhere near a plate. When I showed the waiter, he had the audacity to lie and claim it was just a black seed seasoning an obvious excuse to cover up the issue. To make matters worse, after I complained, they gave me a complimentary plate, but still charged me for the buffet. No apology, no proper resolution just a half-hearted attempt to fix their mistake. This place is clearly a health hazard and I wouldnt trust them to prepare food for anyone. I strongly urge everyone to stay away from this restaurant. It s disgusting, unsafe, and unprofessional. I will never return, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
My Sister Found a DEAD BUG in Her Food - Horrible Experience! My family and I went to this restaurant for the buffet, and it was an awful experience. My sister found a DEAD BUG in her food fat and with long lines, clearly not something that should be anywhere near a plate. When we pointed it out to the waiter, he had the audacity to claim it was a black seed seasoning obviously a lie to cover up their mistake. They gave us a complimentary plate after we complained, but still charged us for the buffet. No apology, no real attempt to make it right. This place is unsanitary, disgusting, and a major health hazard. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone to avoid this restaurant at all costs.
The worst food ever. Don t waste your money. Editing to reply owner s response: We ordered Shami kabab, basmati rice, Tilapia Dopayaja and Tarka Daal. Where to start? The shami kabab was not in fact shami kabab, it s just a chicken kabab, don t name it shami kabab if you don t know what is shami kabab and what s the correct recipe! Coming to the second item, rice, it was cold and dry, microwaved but that too was not correct temperature, it became cold bringing after 5 minutes. Why someone will go to a restaurant to eat thanda vaat ?? The rice quality is the cheapest one, probably that $8.99 we find in the stores. Daal Tarka, can you ask your chef if he has done tarka on that daal or just boiled the daal? Coming to the main item, fish dopeyaja, dopeyaja is cooked with onions and sufficient oil, not a lot of tomatoes, it makes the taste soggy what exactly it did. I was seeing water and tomatoes and fish was overfried that no masala went inside, it wasn t soft but chewy. You wanted honest reply, replied. Additionally, you don t even have tea available! Asked for faluda, not available. Why do you keep a menu where items are not available? Tea is a basic!
Could be more clean
Today we 8 friends went to Lobongo Fine Dining in Scarborough, and it was a fantastic experience. We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Chicken Pakora, Fish Pakora and spicy Fuchka. then chicken Chaap with Luchi which was tender and flavorful, followed by the amazing Mutton Kacchi Biriyani ,perfectly cooked Bangaldeshi style flavourful mutton with fragrant rice. The Chicken Roast Polao was also amazing, with crispy, juicy chicken and aromatic rice. The standout for us was the Mutton Haleem with Aloo Paratha, a rich, comforting dish that we all loved. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, with elegant decor that made us feel right at home. The staff were outstanding warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and helped us choose the best dishes, offering great recommendations with a smile.
Ive known the chef at Lobongo Fine Dining for a long time, and he recommended we try Fuchka and Chicken Pakora to start both were delicious. For the main course, we had Mutton Kacchi, Ilish Polao, and Shorshe Ilish, all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We ended with Borhani and their special desserts: Roshogolla, Golap Jamun, and the best Firni Ive had in Toronto rich and creamy. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!
We visited 15 people in this weekend for a get together. We tried a bunch of food on Lobongo fine dining. Which was completely clean and decent. All the staffs and manager were very gentle. Now comes to the main magic which was food. I used to come here a lot but right now for my job I get busy. So on our get together we tried French fry, chicken nuggets, Chicken pakora And peyajo.. and the main food were The best Ilish Polao, Mutton Kacchi, Beef Teheri, authentic Kala bhuna with Bhuna khichuri , Mutton Naga and Borhani so on. Tho we ordered a lot of items but surprisingly we finished all the food because they were authentic Bangladeshi taste. We all were satisfied by the food and at the end we finished our food with some desserts like Roshogolla and firni which was chefs special. There are plenty of parking and they had properly clean and all the time they have played Bangladeshi music which touched our heart. Will go there again highly recommended.
I thought of giving this place a try one more time before I post my review. I m sorry to say, but the food quality was miserable. We ordered mutton kacchi and chicken biriyani. They served rotten mutton kacchi, and within 30 seconds since they served the food, we asked the waiter to take it back as the smell was coming out of the food. After 10/15 mins, they brought a fresh batch of the kacchi. My ask is, if you know your food is rotten, why bring it up in the first place? Why serve it? Is this what fine dining is all about? Moreover, the chicken biriyani was a fail. They mixed the chicken roast (removed the gravy) with the plain pulao, and called it chicken biriyani. What kind of joke is this?
Probably one of the worst dining experiences I ve ever had in my life. Here is the breakdown: FOOD: Fuchka: filling was refrigerator temperature and was stale (the onion had started to release juices) and had gotten sour Butter chicken: sweeter than laddu, and the chicken couldn t even be cut with a knife. They were hard like rocks, and likely because the dish was prepared a few days ago and microwaved multiple times. The gravy had developed a dark film on top (not an oil film, which would have been more understandable). Inedible Haleem: Not a haleem, was beef curry with daal. Bitter in taste. Tea: couldn t even get that right. The worst tea I ve had at any bangladeshi restaurant Polao: good. Tehari: Edible, but not the best I ve had. Naan: if you can t get naan right, I ve got no hopes. The inside of the naan was raw dough, and the top was crusty/crispy. That s not what a naan is, even if it s prepared poorly. I don t know what bread they made/I ate. SERVICE: Staff were generally courteous Asked for spoons and napkins. Didn t get it until we asked for a third time Placed the order separately in the table (just 4 people) and clarified they were separate orders, but the final bill was given as one. The very basic training of servers includes considerations such as asking if the bill should be combined or separate. Please train your staff professionally. Giving them bow ties and vests doesn t make it Fine Dining Atmosphere: Biye Bari style table and chairs, but most of them are falling apart. I appreciate them trying to do something different though. I truly hope this feedback is read by the owners and I genuinely wish you the best and that you succeed, as a Bangladeshi. It was on a day they had an event going on in the main hall and we were asked to sit in the event hall . The whole experience may have been because they were distracted by the bigger event; but that s something a restaurant should learn to manage. Overall, we felt robbed and it hurt to pay what we paid. Will likely never visit again, or recommend to anyone else.
Lobongo is a true gem for Bengali cuisine lovers! Every dish bursts with authentic flavors. The freshness of the ingredients and the care in preparation truly shine. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more special. If youre craving authentic Bengali food, Lobongo is the place to be. Highly recommended!
Ordered the bogo chicken tikka biryani on ubereats recieved just rice and a single tiny half boneless piece of chicken which was over cooked to the point it taste like cardboard, first time ordering from this place , going to be my last, we put the rest of the stuff in the garbage as the rice was horrible short grained and had a sweetish taste for some reason.
Food was amazing. We have tried Mutton Kacchi Biriyani , Ilish pilaf, Beef Tehari and the special drinks borhani. Everything was on point. And the behaviour of the restaurant manager was unbelievable. It was nice meeting Shiraj bhaiya (The manager)
Phenomenal food. Great value.
I wish I could give them 0 star. Stopped them on the way to USA for some desi bites. Food was old and bad. Service was more trashy. Won t go there anymore for sure.
Jomseh, Siraj bhai was extremely helpful with the food suggestions and also provided complimentary fuchka with the main Khichuri course.
The food was great. And Shiraz Bhai s suggestions were on point!
awesome
The preparation, ambience, overall quality, price and the friendliness of the staff members are noteworthy. This is a 2 thumbs up Parking: Appx. 5 cars can be parked in the front space.
Not fresh
Food was awesome, we will revisit for food only
I recently visited your restaurant and wanted to share some feedback. While I see potential, there are areas for improvement in management, staff training, and food quality. I found the staff to be quite pushy for sales, which detracted from the experience. They could benefit from behavioral training to improve customer interactions. Additionally, when certain items were unavailable, having a notice online and a poster at the counter would be helpful. I also encountered issues with food quality, including undercooked mutton and a spoiled egg. Salads were not included with the kacchi despite the higher price. Most items were unavailable, and the restaurant is often empty, raising concerns about customer choices. I would recommend avoiding it until necessary improvements are made. The kacchi didn t seem fresh, and I suspect the mutton and egg were simply reheated from previous days. Addressing these concerns could enhance the dining experience. Thank you for considering my feedback, and I wish you success in improving your restaurant.
Specious dinning. Low food quality ,naan was not properly cooked.portion was not good. Expensive .Ilish polio was tasty.they closed at 12. While we were eating they asked us to leave within 20 mins.
We ordered kachhi biriyani which is very expensive, it was not freshly cooked, meat was old and smelly, when inform they did not pay any attention, service was very bad, with kachhi we supposed to get kebab which was served after we done our dinner. Last time, we visited few months back, ordered same kachhi , it was also bad at that time, we thought to try one more time but again disappointed, order duck curry which was also very small in portion and smelly. Will not visit Lobongo again. We spend so much but if we do not get fresh food and good service it is not worth it at all.
I recently visited the restaurant after seeing good reviews but the food was absolutely disgusting, very oily and old tasting. I ordered French fries and it was fried in the same oil as the fish and smelt disgusting. Ilish polau was very oily and the taste was off. The service is below average, but the restaurant looked clean. No wonder the place was pretty empty at the dinner service. If you are not looking to waste money there are better bangladeshi restaurants literally 1 away from this restaurant. I do not recommend it to anyone.
I could give it a zero too!! Very bad service and food is not good at all. Wasted my dollars here damn.
Excellent
This place serves great food. Their previous staff members were very organised and helpful. However recently I visited the restaurant and found that the staff member particularly the lady was kind of over confident and arrogant. She even added tip to our bill by herself. She didnt give us the option to choose the tipping amount. We paid the tip along with the bill but did not really like her way of handling the billing process.
Very good food.real authentic flavour of Bangladesh.
Really great atmosphere, and very spacious and clean. Would love to come eat here again
Very yummy the appetizers are the best
Food was not at all good ! Not deserved one star also. We have ordered two mutton kachhi and one morog pulao. Kachhi was not at all kachhi biriyani, it seems they had prepared old mutton which was super hard ,dry with bad smell. They had just mixed the pulao and old mutton and gave. Had a big piece of potato which took almost 30% of the container hence pulao was so small portion. And Morog pulao - they just gave gravy chicken on top of rice - Taste is not at all good. I really doubt on their positive reviews. Ambience was good though but doesnt matter if food doesnt deserve a single star
I have been to this restaurant 2 time and both times i found out its always empty and the foods are very dry smells nasty service sucks.
We were three peoples in dine in. We ordered Mutton kachchi that was very good but we ordered again a beef curry it was a oily dish to much oil inside that. So please update your curry because this kind of dishes create problems for customers. I m a restaurant manager we serve indian curry but i can t compare with your curry. And the service was not Perfect.
It was a great experience to dine in at Lobongo. The food was top notch and more importantly the service was the best. Alam da is one of the nicest person i have ever met. Thank you!
Came close to their closing hours & they served with a smile. Food was great & portions are reasonable for the price. Food
The food was good, especially the mutton was well cooked. The atmosphere was quite lit. Food : 5/5
Food its very good.
The food wasn t up to the mark. We ordered chicken chaap and it turned out to be more of a chicken roast!! The mutton kacchi biriyani which they said their special item wasn t fresh at all. The mutton naga curry was good on the other hand. Hope they improve their service as well.
We are from Edmonton and they make the best Fuska in the entire country! All the best
Lovely restaurant. Food is amazing. Soecially their kachhi is the best in Toronto
Excellent food. We came from Bangladesh and found same taste as like our home. Menu is rich with huge variety as well. We tried different snacks also like piaju, chatpati, singara.. etc etc..are really nice. At last i got my home food taste here in canada.
We recently visited Lobongo on a quiet Tuesday evening, a dinner for two. The Ilish Polai was fantastic and I had one of the best lamb biryani dishes Ive tasted. Also, the ambiance was cozy and the staff was very friendly. Thank you to Shiraj who was our server. Well be back soon!
The manger seemed to be unmindful though the store was almost empty. We asked some onions, and a cup of hot water (to mitigate coughing), he failed to serve accordingly though he politely agreed. Mutton Kachchi is full of oil, had waste bottom portion.
Had the worst experience ever. Came in as a big group. Ordered food had to wait for so long and the waiters served food in a scattered manner. Zero organizational skills. Chicken roast was undercooked, the fish in shorshe illish was raw. Couldn t even serve french fries for kids within 45 min time we spent there. Super disappointed. We sent the uncooked chicken back, they reheated the same chicken in microwave and served again. Like seriously, super unprofessional and unhygienic. When confronted they said their main chef wasn t present and the new chef has handled everything. They did apologize for the food and did give us discount since we didn t want the other food that we ordered. We cancelled almost everything we ordered. Never had an experience like this. Just be honest while taking reservations of such large group. You guys ruined our night and wasted our time. Never coming back here.
I saw the menu then I order . I saw in menu 13.95 but they charge smal box of teheri 21 bucks something. Then I ask them menu is showing less they said it s long time ago and service they didn t give any salad or any with teheri..I thought other rastourants much better from this cheap and their quantity also good. I will never order from them .
We had excellent Bengali food such as Fuchka, Kachi beef biryani, paratha, naan, tandoori chicken, Lassi & borhani. It was excellent, also great service by Symon. I am looking forward to visiting again.
Best
Best kacchi in Toronto city
Very good and Friedman environment. Really recommend for birthday party. Seraj vai is very helpful. Must recommend to talk to him and setup a party plan with him
Super disappointed with their service. We called around 7pm and ordered for 11 Kachchi Biriyani and their manager assured us they can serve the Biriyani, after arriving at the restaurant we found out there s a wedding going on and manager informed us they have a room next door and we have to sit there, now at this point we lost our interest and told them they should have informed us over the phone when we reserved. We covered a long drive to this restaurant and decided to finish the dinner here so we asked for the Kachchi Biriyani and took our seats in that room; Now the manager surprised us by saying they can serve only 5 Mutton Kachchi and rest will be beef Kachchi which will be served from the wedding s buffet leftover. we just told the manager this was very unprofessional from them and just left the restaurant hungry.
We were the eleven please read @Ruslan Haider s comment
Super disappointed with their service. We travelled from Ssauga to Danforth and called them prior to arriving. They confirmed they had 11 mutton biryanis and a table booked for us. Upon arrival, they told us we had to take seats next room and had a wedding going on. They did not inform us about this prior to coming, and they didnt have the food ready as well, which they promised would be available. The manager was not apologetic or helpfulat all, at this point when we arrived. Please avoid at all costs.
Part of the same group of 11. Read Ruslan & Adhibs comment for full story!
Very unprofessional service. We called in before hand and made a reservation for 11 kachi biriyani. They never informed that the restaurant was all booked for a private event and they gave us a separate space to sit. This unexpected change dampened our enthusiasm, and we expressed that they should have mentioned this over the phone when we made the reservation. After everything when it came down to the food, after confirming the order for 10mutton kachi biriyani and 1 chicken chaap they told us they can only serve 5 mutton and 5 beef biriyani and they gave out the last orders of mutton biriyani on Uber eats. Overall, the entire experience was saddening and unprofessional. Lastly I would like to add is that most items in the menu was not available.
Dont tell we didnt warn you , avoid this place like a plague. Very bad customer service , especially from the manager who is incompetent.
Very neat very respectable place
During my recent visit to Lobongo Restaurant in Toronto, I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying what I believe to be the finest Bangladeshi Kacchi Biryani Ive ever tasted. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary! The rice was cooked to perfection, wonderfully aromatic, and generously mixed with tender, flavorful meat. The spices were expertly balanced, adding just the right amount of warmth without overwhelming the delicate nuances of the dish. What truly made the evening special was the exceptional service. The manager and staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was impeccable. Their dedication to delivering authentic Bangladeshi cuisine was evident not only in the food but also in their genuine hospitality. Lobongo Restaurant is an absolute gem in the heart of Bangla Town Danforth. If youre seeking an authentic and delicious Bangladeshi Kacchi Biryani experience, this is the place to be. The combination of outstanding food and exceptional service makes it a must-visit for anyone in the area.
Worst Service received ever! Visited there 21st june, 12 am. We were 3 people and ordered 3 individual dishes. Service person confirmed our orders how many times only that person knows. However we have no issue with that. Food came, one of the orders was wrong, but that person tried to insist we made that wrong. Which did not happened. (They changed afterwards) Alright, What next? Now its time to pay. Checked the bill, they added one item costing 2.49/2.50 CAD which was not ordered. This time they did not insist on us, However, stated that the Manager is not here, so we can not deduct the money from the system.So.. We paid without having a single word! As all of our dishes were bengali, no salad item came with the dishes. We paid extra for that as well. That was a pretty new experience though. ( not complaining) We went there based on someones recommendation. Though it was our fault to visit the Bengali Restaurant while knowing that, no Bengali Restaurant can maintain their consistency of food taste and have zero professionalism!! So this review is not for them to improve nor expect them to learn professionalism! This is for those who wanna visit, keep in mind its your own risk. Last but not least, the final Bill was 85 CAD with willingly paid tips!
Very good food
Ilish poplar and kachi was great as well awesome services from Shiraj bhai and his team :)
I would definitely recommend them to improve qualities and taste of the food. Compared to the price, the quantity is not enough and service needs to be Improved.
The service is very slow and the taste is nothing that great
Very bad service. Nobody should go this place,
Last night I bought beef tehari as I tried some other bengali dishes before such as ilish polau , beef kacchi and so on. However It was so disappointing that it didn t even taste like tehari. Lack of salt and it was too dry ..
Service is abysmal, insane wait times. And the food itself is borderline shameful.
Food was excellent. 88 people. SirajBhai s service was excellent. Please come and enjoy their hospitality.
Hands down, the best tehari in Toronto. Shiraj the manager catered to my every need. Great quality and service. Will be coming back many more times
One of the worst experiences in Toronto!! They had a function in the banquet and were not properly staffed. They did not inform us about the unavailability of foods but just accepted the order and gave us stale fishes and the roast chicken contained some bones which were not from the chicken. Kindly avoid the restaurant for any dining options.
Food quality is good but very spicy . If you like spicy you will enjoy the food. It will burn your tongue.
Recently went there for a family lunch buffet. Kacchi Biryani was very good! However, the staff control the food by serving you less meat (typical Bangladeshi kiptami (cheap) behavior) maybe they want to save the meat to serve their staff or reuse it again for next party. If I paid $35 per plate, then I expect to take food myself and choose my meat properly. They even dont turn on AC properly to save electricity, and just like typical kipta (cheap) bangali, even reduced water flow in the taps to save water bill (like seriously we are in Canada!) Once you remove your typical Desh mindset and kiptami (cheap) behavior, you will do better!
Overall the restaurant is nice, some tables were left uncleaned which was a bit off-putting if I am being honest. Furthermore, the food we ordered was the seekh kabab and naan, sorry to say but it was the worst naan and kabab I have ever had. However, their Bengali dishes such as tehari, kacchi biryani, eleesh polau, etc. are pretty good so I gave them another star for that. Lastly, their service was good, they were quite polite, however they should be trained to know that when the customer is inserting the tip amount that they shouldnt be hovering over them.
Food is really good , always recommend here for bengali food in town Food
Great food appreciate the place top of the fine dining place
Very good food and atmosphere. Love the ambiance. Simon took care us well.
Nice place
Tried 1st time after someone recommended. I highly doubt it can survive with this kind of terrible food taste! Nothing special to mention and everything we tried is barely edible! Stay away from this place and not a restaurant to tryout
Great Kachi biryani. Memorable food for sure!
Well maintained and beautiful place. Staff is very nice. I was served my Sharna she was very kind and friendly person. Service was awesome. Most visit place for sure. Food
We recently organized an event at Lobongo, and I couldnt be more impressed with the experience. The manager was incredibly cooperative and went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs. His kindness and professionalism truly stood out, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. The customer service was exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring everything ran seamlessly. The quality of the food was outstanding, maintaining the high standards Lobongo is known for. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend Lobongo for any event. Everything was perfect!
We had the absolute pleasure of hosting an acoustic night (Shadhinota Tumi) for local Bengali performers at Lobongo Fine Dining, and I cant express enough how exceptional the experience was. The event was a fundraiser, and Lobongo generously allowed us to use their venue for free, showcasing their commitment to supporting the community. From the very beginning, the manager, Shiraj, was an invaluable resource. His organization skills and professional demeanor ensured the event ran smoothly, even when faced with unexpected obstacles. Shiraj managed everything with ease, making our job much simpler and stress-free. The staff at Lobongo were equally impressive. They went above and beyond, staying late to help us wrap up the show. Their dedication and willingness to assist in any way possible did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated by everyone involved. The food served to our event audience was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was top-notch, bursting with flavors that left everyone raving about the quality and taste. Lobongo truly outdid themselves, providing a dining experience that perfectly complemented our evening. We are forever grateful to Lobongo Fine Dining for their generosity and support. Their incredible venue, outstanding staff, and delicious cuisine made our fundraiser a tremendous success. If youre looking for a place that combines excellent service, delicious food, and a commitment to community, look no further than Lobongo. Thank you, Lobongo, for helping us create such a memorable night!
Excellent service and quality. Simon extra care of us was exceptional.
This was amazing to dine in here at Lobongo. The service that we received here today was exceptional and praiseworthy. We encourage people to dine in here at Lobongo .
Excellent service.
A bunch of us went there a few (about 3) weeks ago to grab a bite. We were especially looking to get the Fuchka and Chotpoti (two of their decent appetizers). While we got the former one after waiting quite a while, the latter never even arrived. We repeatedly asked the staff and the manager(s) for our food, but they did not seem to care much to provide us with the food that we ordered. Not to mention that there was literally 2-3 tables (including ours) in the entire store at that time. So, making and serving the food that our table ordered should not have taken too long. Again, waiting for the food a while is usually fine, depending on the business of the restaurant. But, we never got the other appetizer we ordered, and got an apathetic service altogether. The restaurant staff were inattentive, unengaged, and displayed total lack of enthusiasm while taking the order, serving the food, and taking the payment. We had to wait 15-20 minutes at the counter just to find someone to take our payment for the incomplete order. Not being a hater of the restaurant, cause we like a few dishes of their menu. But they need to up their game in terms of customer service, otherwise they will keep losing customers.
Overall, the best Bangladeshi Restaurant in Toronto
Always fan of their kacchi birani, beef Chaap and shorshe ilish (which you wont find in other Bengali restaurants). We held a charity event at Lobongo last week. Lobongo manager, Shiraj, has been a super cooperative soul for months of planning. The Lobongo staff and owners helped tirelessly until the last moment of our event and ensured everything ran as smoothly as possible. We are very happy with their service, and assistance, and grateful to the Lobongo team of staff.
Same is best
I recently dined at (LOBONGO) and was impressed by the delicious mutton and paratha. The mutton was tender and flavorful, and the paratha was perfectly soft and buttery. Our server, Saymon, was incredibly polite and communicated well, enhancing our dining experience. I highly recommend [LOBONGO] for its fantastic food and exceptional service.
Incredible experience. Servers are on a different level here and very friendly. Food is lovely. Vibes are great. Very clean. Perfect for gatherings.

Simon was amazing he got me all the best food and was very friendly.
Price is too expensive, service is worse. This is first time me and my wife went there and we were devastated.

Just wow best food and service
Excellent service. Quality food, yummy. Good atmosphere. I will come here soon.
I enjoyed food very much. Birani was good, chef cooked very good. Parking: I think more parking will be beneficial for customer. Wheelchair accessibility: It will be good if wheelchair access is available.
Very tasty food! Vegetarian options: Good Dietary restrictions: Good Parking: Good Kid-friendliness: Good Wheelchair accessibility: Good
Was there last week with a large group of friends. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Was not sure what to expect but a courteous greeting and a test fully decorated ambience was a good start. Super-friendly servers delivered delitious beef Tehari on-time and hot. Chicken roast and chicken shami kabobs were remarkably tasty. Very impressed. Hope this level of service and quality dishes will last for long time.
Lobongo is an absolute gem! From the warm ambiance to the delectable cuisine, every visit is a delightful experience. The menu offers a tantalizing array of dishes, each crafted with precision and bursting with flavor. The attentive staff ensures impeccable service, making you feel welcomed and pampered throughout your meal. Whether youre craving traditional favorites or eager to try something new, Lobongo never disappoints. Its the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience with friends or a romantic evening out. Highly recommended!
Delicious Food & Excellent Service I think. All the best.
Singara and kacchi is awesome
I recently had the pleasure of trying what I believe to be the best Bangladeshi Kacchi Biryani at Lobongo Restaurant in Toronto. It was an unforgettable experience! The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and generously mixed with tender, well-seasoned meat. The spices were masterfully balanced, providing warmth without overpowering the delicate flavors of the dish. A must-try for anyone craving authentic Bangladeshi style Kacchi Biriyani in the heart of Bangla Town Danforth!
Great service and great food !
We were a regular, but waited for 50 minutes for the last appetizer. We ordered 2 types of appetizers, one appetizer was served after 10 minutes, we waited for the final appetizer over 50 minutes, all the servers, managers and everyone were busy for a vip guest while clearly discriminating us. Ignoring our multiple calls. Then without making any issue we simply wanted to pay the bill and leave, again we waited for another 20 minutes standing in front of their front desk only to be ignored 3 times by three different people. They were way too much occupied over one single table, everyone took their machine, in the middle of doing the tab, they left to give better service to the other table while letting us wait and leave in the middle. It was horrible, the experience and the service, we felt discriminated.
We had a dine in and ordered Mutton Kachchi Biryani and Ilish Polao. The biryani was better than the Ilish Polao. Food tasted good for us. The ambience was kind of okay. Poor lighting and the music was breaking up. However the place looked clean. The waiters are not professional. They served food after 30 minutes, but before placing order they told the food is ready to get served. They waiters were busy in chitchat and not focusing on their job. We asked for a high chair for our baby but the chair wasn t stable, it could break any time. While paying the bill I did not see any skip button or edit option so probably you will have to pay 15% tip. I recommend ordering take out from here, dine in not recommended.
Very poor experience. I have heard about this restaurant but our experience was so different. Waited almost an hour to get the food. Poor customer service, waiter were very busy chitchat with others, it was hard to get their attention if you need something. They called themselves Fine dining I found nothing related to their name. They were way too much expensive then other bangali restaurants. They provided no customer service but we couldn t edit the tips. Tips were 15% which is a lot. Food was not up to the mark. Ilish Polao was so much oily and bland . Biriyani was ok. But overall , I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever. Total waste of Time and Money.
Loved their Ilish Pulao.
Seems like khichuri is their signature dish with lobongo being the dominant taste there. The food could be better. Food tasted quite bland. It s hard to be happy when you are served this kind of food after 35 mins wait time. Professional clothing alone does not make a restaurant professional.
The authentic Beef Kala Bhuna is a great choice if you don t know what to order. Great Bangladeshi restaurant in Toronto
Very impressed with food and service. Actual Bangladeshi fine dine
Good quality and very good service
We had a big birthday party here and it was very nicely done. The staff was amazing and the owner Shiraz bhai was very friendly and helpful throughout the event. I highly recommend hosting your event here Edited: I had the event for 75 people but unfortunately had some cancellations so only 55 guests came. The food made was for 75 guests so we were to pay for the entire amount. They stated that they will give us all of the leftover foods. However after we came home, we found only 5 pieces of chicken roast and little bit of beef packed. How is it possible that they made food for 75 people but the extra food (for 20 guests) equaled to only 5 pieces of roast? And on top of that, we paid for 75 guests though we had only 55. We did not get any leftover desserts either or appetizers (which was made for 75 guests APPARENTLY). Anyways, the event was nicely done but after coming home and seeing the small amount of food packed for us, I am highly disappointed. If this was the case, they shouldn t have charged for 75 guests but for 60 guests.
Today we came in this restaurant. We came here before also.best fuchka in Toronto. Vhorta platter is awesome . Manager shiraj vhai is best person ever. We highly recommend.
The food, service and ambience is really great. Our server , Shiraz was very nice. Highly recommend this restaurant. Food
Great food! A taste of fine Bengali cuisine!
I have a party at least 120 people In the restaurant lunch time. Food was good, except the dessert item.
We had a fantastic time . Food and service met the expectations! We will be back !!
We were seated in a different unit as the main restaurant was full during iftar. The room was unpleasant, uncomfortable and unappealing, and had a very unhygienic washroom. At least they could have told us that the main restaurant is full when we made the reservation. It is really unethical to charge people the full amount in the name of fine dining with folding chairs and disposable plates!
Iftar items are rotten and stale. Halim is made with flour instead of meat which can be a new food item in this country. If you complain, instead of taking it into account, they try to cover their own fault. The owner who goes here as a Bangladeshi should take a good look at the matter. It is by no means desirable to collect forceful tips. Even if there is a boycott, this clove restaurant can be.
Worst buffet I had ever in Toronto. I can t explain in words how much worst it was. A big no to this place.
Customer service excellence. Food was good. Only the sitting arrangement expected better. Hope near future it will be changed . Will definitely come back again.
We went to Lobongo for iftar buffet and had only a plate served for buffet iftar! No refills on any of the iftar items, only 4 items served for dinner with servers serving! At a buffet! There was only 1 dessert item and that too was not refilled, my worst experience at a buffet restaurant!!! That s about the arrangement!! The food was bland and tasteless and it has caused one of my household members to fall sick for the last 3 days. No juice refills either. They had the audacity to apply pressure tactics for tips at check out! Would not go back ever for a meal at this resturant. Update as of day 4: my family member is so sick that we are having to take the poor soul to seek medical treatment.
Delicious food
I had my sons Aqeeqah event. Everything went really smoothly. The Manager Seraj was very helpful and hospitable. The food was excellent. We had some vegan guests and the manager was especially accommodating to provide the food separately on their table. Feedback for all the food from guests were excellent, especially the veggie samosa, daal, chicken korma, firni, chai to name a few dishes.
Terrible experience. Drove long distance just to eat cold and bland food. Waited almost an hour to get the food served after being asked thrice by different staff if my order has been placed. Order phuchka 1 out of 10. Borhani drink was average. Did not even eat chicken and rice as it was not even room temp. Honest suggestion, save your time and go to ADDA (it s next to it).
Disappointed with food. Bad Taste. Vegetarian options: Poor Food : 1/5 |
we order Mutton kacchi & tandori chicken. Waste of money. Food
Nice place to eat
Very good food, clean environment and excellent professional service
Our unfortunate visit to Lobongo resulted in a dreadful outing. My family and I attended a party last week at this restaurant, and it was an utterly disappointing experience. Shortly after the meal, my family and I, along with several other guests, fell victim to food poisoning. The kitchens food handling and hygiene standards are seriously lacking. This incident has ruined our evening and affected our health significantly. I strongly recommend against eating here unless youre willing to take that risk. A total letdown! Well surely be suing the restaurant for pain and suffering and reporting it to the proper authorities, so they can crack down on such operations that are a menace to society. I heard that the restaurant owner is running in the upcoming election, which is quite ironic! How can he be empowered to help the community if he is unable to maintain public safety even in his own restaurant?
Just had an awesome time at Lobongo Restaurant for a nice romantic dinner. We love the elegant decore, savory selections, and amazing service. We just love the mouthwatering food, which keeps us coming back for more!
Good Food and Atmosphere They have the best Mutton Biriyani in whole of Toronto. Authentic Bengali food. Staffs are amazing and Service is fast.
Delicious food and great service, every time.
Very good food and their Kacchi biryani and service.Shorshe Ilish &vhorta platers are really tasty. The management team is very friendly and helpful.Highly recommended
Alhumdulilallah I reallly enjoyed there food.
Nice environment. I was invited a family gathering last Friday night.I really enjoyed their foods especially beef Bhuna. High quality of services.
I tried it for the first time, and it didnt disappoint me. We ordered the fuchka (great taste but could give us the spice level option and increase the quantity), beef kacchi (rice was amazing, meat could be better and provide more boneless meat quantity), Kalo bhuna was great but was less in quantity again, shrimp and Polao (rice was tasty). Overall, it is good service and respectful. Parking space right outside. Spacious indoor seating area. The only downside is the plate size or quantity. It needs to be increased.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We ordered biryani, but they served the salad after we finished our meal. The food looked like cheap street biryani and even had a hair in it. The waiter, Shiraz, seemed indifferent and couldnt even speak English properly, yet we later found out hes the manager! How can someone like that be in charge? His attitude was appalling. The owner has clearly invested a lot of money in making the restaurant look fancy, but they need to focus on improving their service. Despite the clean and luxurious appearance, the overall experience was extremely disappointing and On top of everything else, the waiter had the audacity to directly ask a customer for cash tips, even requesting $10 outright. It was incredibly inappropriate and made me question if this was a restaurant or some sort of shady establishment. Its unacceptable behavior and left a sour taste in my mouth.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I would never have come to this restaurant if I had known before. First of all, lets talk about the food in this restaurant, such as Birani, Fuchka. If I had known before, I would not have eaten them. Currently, this Bengali restaurants are getting bad name in other Bengali restaurants and secondly, the manners, speech and manners of the staffs here are very bad. The biggest thing is that the manager of this restaurant, Siraj, is so stupid that he doesnt know how to talk to a customer. Another thing is that the manager Siraj forces cash tips from the customers in this restaurant. The name of the restaurant is bad because of this disgusting managers. In the end, I would like to say one thing to the owner of the restaurant that he should teach this manager and the staffs, otherwise the future of this restaurant is dark.
Lobongo has a great ambience. The restaurant Lobongo stayed true to its name- the bhortas, daal had excessive lobon. The kacchi s mutton and potato were a little hard. The chicken chap was full of tomato gravy and salty. The wait time for the food was 40 minutes. Overall, a high priced meal for under quality service and food.
Best Mutton kachi & Hellish polao ..Food is excellent decorate and test is yammy .. and service is to much good .. Thanks a lot Manager Shiraj bhai for beautiful service . Must be recommend for everyone Food
Boal fish beef curry tastes excellent Will came back again Labib n shiraj bhais service was great Food : 5/5
The food was really good. Haleem was amazing Really liked their food presentations. I would also like to add the behaviour of the manager Mr Shiraj was top notch Greatly recommended
we have visited at lobongo for lunch. Firstly, moglai poratha, beef chaap , chicken biryani, Borhani & firni. in terms of quality it was absolutely top notch . Last but not least , service & cleanse was absolutely beyond expecting. I will definitely recommend those who would like to spend quality tyms with friends & family lobongo is the best place.
Manager siraz is very much cooperative and he motivates customer to purchase food from his restaurant. He is a very dynamic and business oriented model. I wish him every success in his life. Every weekend I come from oshawa to get Polao and roast which is very increadible.
Very good presentation I tried beef tehari, chicken roast and borhani. I am very pleased with the quantity and food taste. Their manager Mr Shiraj provided us with good service. I really liked the way the approached us. Im pretty sure that he is working one this field for many years. Overall i was really pleased with met experience. I recommended everyone told try lobongo
Today we have lunch there. We were looking for some desi foods. Tried their vorta, roi fish, kala vuna and burhani. Everything was so good. At the end the cha was the best thing to complete the meal.
Overall experience very good service very well Love it Food
Bad customer experience. The manager of this restaurant is nothing but a jerk. He doesn t know how to behave and handle customers. Employees of the restaurant called and threatened for the review modification. Muhit brother is one of the nicest person i have ever seen but i would like to draw your attention so that you can fix this service level.
I picked up 3 breakfast Loochi this morning and when I came home , found them over fried and too crispy. Called Lobong and shared the photo of the takeout Loochi . They sent me 5 Loochi with complimentary shooji halooa by Uber eats to my home . That was like WAW ! Excellent client service. I really appreciate their action to satisfy a client. Thank you Lobongo fine dining and the team for your great service and mentality.
A terrible takeout experience. Ordered teheri from this place for iftar and once it was brought home and heated up to eat we learned that they gave us spoiled food. It had a very unpleasant smell that clearly told us it had gone bad. They tried to rip us off by giving us food that was rotten and bad. So we drove back and demanded to speak to the owner. It was a clear violation of the health and safety standards of a commercial kitchen. Moreover, the staff and manager were rude and not properly equipped to handle such matters. The owner didn t even apologize after learning about this incident. I will not be returning to this place again. I advise anyone else reading this review to please consider before going here. Very disappointed to have experienced this.
Had the best meal ever. They have the best kacchi in town, I can vouch for it. And I also saw the restaurant is Dine Safe Pass. The iftar buffet was wholesome. Food
Great food, great portions, posh prices.
The worst iftar I have ever had.
The food was good And there was someone named siraj. I loved his work Food : 5/5
excellent food well organised good behaviour from siraj manager i recommend to everyone from our bangali community #lobongofinedine Food : 5/5 |
Had a great experience with their service, specially Siraj vai, the manager of the restaurant is a great guy. Strongly recommended.....
The food was very good. The beef chaap was good and the shrimp and the deal are very good. The resala is good for kids .
The food was very tasty, especially the beef chaap. The chicken and polau was also good and suitable for the kids as well. The staff was very kind and got all our orders right away and didnt make any mistakes. The atmosphere was clean and nice but it wasn t anything special. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very poor dine-in experience. We had a reservation but I guess the nicer main dining area was being rented out, so we were walked OUTSIDE to a completely different dining area in the neighbouring unit. This was the farthest thing from fine dining- dirty, no attempts at decor or atmosphere. We were also seated right next to the door which was constantly being opened, even though there was only 1 other group of 2 there. Servers only addressed my male companion most of the the time, even though I had done all the ordering. 1 of our apps arrived as expected. The other was with our mains for some reason, which were left sitting on a nearby table for several minutes while we were still eating our app (were by no means slow eaters). Chicken roast was good, but chicken biryani, shami kabab, and even muglai porota were all bland.
Excellent food and great service
Best borhani in Canada
