Somali restaurant
Great T-bone steak, full of amazing flavor and very tender. Excellent service and beautiful remodeling of the dining room
We had a very pleasant experience dining in Sahan. The food was delicious with very generous portions and the presentation was also amazing. We had a platter for two with beef steak and chicken stew. We were given the lentil soup at first which my kid liked a lot. For drinks we had mango juice. And there was also a station for complimentary tea. The tea won't disappoint you either. Overall it was a lovely experience.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Because I can't go a month without some goat meat, I was so excited to get my hands dirty cleaning up these goat ribs. Grilled to introduce a lick of smoke it each bite, its savoriness balanced with a green chilli vinegar sauce, along with some veggies and a layer of aromatic rice. To wash it all down, is a complimentary serving of lentil soup as well!
Flavour, flavour, flavour! From gorgeous fluffy rice, highlighted by delicious onions, to a healthy garden salad, to tender succulent meats. Sahan does not disappoint. Goat ribs are fall apart tender, mild in gaminess; chicken legs are seasoned to perfection, even delicious salmon as a fish option. My favourite is the green hotsauce. Spicy but not overbearing, not taking over the flavours of the dish, but adds a high note of acidity to the meats. Milk cake is amazing. For people who love a well soaked milk cake, this beautiful sponge is for you; sweetness is on point. Food packed and travelled well by delivery. I would recommend and will order again.
I got the beef stew and it was very delicious with large portions that I was not able to finish. The meat very soft and comes with yummy rice. The servers are very nice and offered us free mango juice and lemon soup. Will be coming back!!
My 4th time back here, and it's my only go-to for Somalian food. Recently renovated the place looks very modern. The staff are always pleasant, and the owner (forgot the gentleman's name) is personable and making sure everything is okay. I opted for their beef suqar served with heaping portions and at a reasonable price. Their meals come with lentil soup and juice! I'll be back soon!!
A few weeks back I went to this Somalian restaurant in Scarborough located in Lawrence ave E. It was my first time trying African food and I was impressed! The portions were great for the price and all of the dishes were different which made it more appealing. We tried their: 👉 Chicken stew 👉 Beef stew 👉 Goat ribs 👉 Beef steak 👉 Goat lamb My favourite was the goat ribs and the chicken stew. Loved both the dishes! All the items cane with salad and rice and we were also given lentils and mango juice before our main dishes. We got the Somalian milk cake for dessert - this was nothing fancy, just the regular milk cake that tasted really delicious. Would highly recommend to give this place a try if you’re nearby!
If you're looking for some Somali Traditional Food, I would recommend trying Sahan Restaurant. We ordered Lamb with Rice and Beef Steak with Pasta. The Beef with pasta was average for me but the lamb with rice was standout in terms of taste and quality. The Milk cake as dessert was also tasty. Therefore, my overall experience was pretty decent, and I recommend the folks who wanted to experience such traditional food. Finally, as a bonus you will get complimentary Mango Juice and soup at the beginning of the main dish and at the end you will get unlimited tea. I took almost 3 cups of tea, certainly refreshing.
Preety expensive with very little amount quantity- maybe not again
Their areeka was not bad but they didnt have masub and their adeni tea was not good
10/10 food and complementary tea.
Excellent restaurant. I love coming here. Quran playing in the background after Friday prayers or on a Friday, the owner is benevolent and merciful. Classic and simple place making you feel like you are back home. Allah bless them all. Choose Awlal it is BEYOND satiating!
Ive been here over 10 times now, I like to have a few trips before I review. The food is all really good actually, price is not bad. For a 3 meals, , a couple very small soups, plus 2 milk cakes, its about $100. Personally I find the goat to be too hard so l always choose the chicken meals. Id recommend this restaurant! But side note to the restaurant, please ensure proper napkins and utensils every time, that part is super inconvenient, for those of us that dont want to eat with our hands.
Very friendly. Quran playing. Quick service (they were not busy), generously offered extra rice by owner, dishes were great. Chicken breast was just a little dry. But the goat ribs were very appetizing and the rice was nice and soft Milk cake is one of the best deserts I ever had. They have a very accommodating prayer area.
Food was amazing, waiter was friendly, and price was very good. Sahan does not disappoint.
Best restaurant in Toronto. Good food, good price, good everything. East or west, Sahan is the best
My family and I had a very nice experience at Sahan . We arrived around 30 past 7 on a Saturday evening and were immediately alloted a table, despite the restaurant being packed. We ordered 2 t-bone steaks, 2 beef steaks, 1 beef suqar, 2 beef stews, and one somali milk cake Our main server Nurah Farah, was very kind and patient. She made sure to accurately take our order and was also very friendly The meals were very delicious, and rich in a homely taste. They were not spicy and had a very tasty and natural flavour. The servings were very generous, and they later provided us with boxes to pack our takeaways. The meals came with complimentary items like green hot sauce, lentil soup, jugs of mango juice and glasses of water, which were also generously served. I usually dont like soups, but the lentil soup was so delicious and it was served almost hot which was good. I tried the green hot sauce too; it was good but a little too spicy for me, but it would be nice for people who like spicy meals. The mango juice was so good, it was not too sweet and not watery like but also not thick either; you could tell they used real mangos. I almost wanted to ask how theyd made it . The somali cake was a takeaway, but it is so delicious; a little sweet but the texture is amazing as it is soaked in milk. Service was fast; we did not have to wait long for our order, even though we ordered a lot of food. The restaurant is very clean and the tables were packed with families, which made it a little noisy as everyone was chatting but I found the vibe very warm and homely. There was some nice Somali music playing in the background, and once or twice they would turn off the lights for a family to sing Happy Birthday to their loved one(s). I also witnessed a Somali bride being sang to which was a wonderful experience. The families in the restaurant were of different races and it was wonderful to see so many different cultures represented there. The staff members were very friendly and patient, despite being very busy trying to attend to customers I would recommend getting there a bit early, as some of the food items from the menu were finished, but not to worry, almost all the food items are delicious which is a plus for the restaurant. I would therefore recommend getting different food items if going there with your family and share, so that you can all have a taste of everything and determine your favourite meal out of the whole menu. That being said, my favourite meal out of all that we ordered was the beef stew meal; the beef was well cooked, very rich in taste and not dry, the rice was also very tasty and it came with some salad on the side. It was a generous serving too. Our bill came to around $160, but it was so worth it because the servings are very generous and the food is also very delicious. The restaurant environment was good too. The restaurant is kid friendly and mostly for families. There is ample free parking outside. So, if you are looking for a restaurant with a homely feel and a place to enjoy delicious, generously served meals with your family, then this is definitely the place to go . I would rate the place a 10/10, as my family and I had a really great experience. We will definitely be back there. Thank you Sahan!
Disappointed
We order in a daily basis from Alforat. They always bless us with the food, wish them all the best. Food
One the best food taste, Beef Steak was excellent, with all serving. The service was so good that I have to ask for paying Tip. Ambience is also excellent. I recommend anyone looking for healthy food, should visit SAHAN. Food : 5/5
The milk cakes are to die for. If you are in the vicinity and you love milk cakes, I would highly recommend you to try theirs.
Been going here for years, never disappoints!
Everytime I drive from out of town. Sahan is a MUST!!! You know it is AMAZING when people from all over the globe come here to eat. Fresh, friendly and delicious. Cant forget the free tea also yummy.
This is the place to be
Soooo good!!
Got the chicken leg meal and the legs were cold on the inside. Wasnt fresh off the grill. Qiamah youll pay me back wallahi!
Had a takeout today from Sahan, one box each of the beef and chicken stews with rice. Excellent stuff. Amazing flavor, hearty portions, and so fresh. One plate of the stew with rice is good enough for two people. Will definitely go there to dine in next time.
1st time tried this somali restaurant & their food as well Loved it ! This place is almost housefull everytime you visit them & still they give you food with perfection the staff is great Food
Good
Yesterday evening, a few coworkers and myself had a delicious meal at Sahan Restaurant! We ordered some combination plates to share with each other!! Delicious food as always!!! Thanks Sahan for a great afternoon yesterday.
Parking: Amble parking Recommended dishes
Great food. Loved the lamp plate. Amazing customer service
Incredible food, and portions were very generous for the price. Service was great.
First time trying African food Wow wow wow Taste was incredible flavours Parking: Plaza parking
Amazing food and staff!
Excellent fine dining place where you and your guests will be 100% satisfied
I enjoyed the food and the service I received at Sahan Restaurant in Scarborough, Ontario. Parking: Go early to find nice spot
Very upset with todays experience i called the restaurant for the timings because it said 11 she said they close at 9:45 i told the lady i will come at 9:45 will i be served she said yes i said take my order i will be there in 5 mins she said no we dont take phone orders i got to the store with my baby and she Literally said you have to eat in 15 mins because everyone will be gone. How do you expect someone to pay for food and rush to eat it especially with an elderly person and a baby in such a cold weather because you dont want to do your job. Litreally been eating at sahan since years never had such an upsetting experience.
Enjoyed food here. It was our first time experiencing Somali food. Portions were big and came with lentil soup and mango juice.
Excellent halal chinese soup and very good service. Moderate prices. Will go back definitely. Parking: Theres is a good parking lot.
Great food!!
Very btf restaurant its amazing and yummy
Found this place through a review on utube. Definitely a hidden gem. From the time we walked through the door, we were greeted with smiles and hospitality. I ordered the steak and rice and my wife ordered the goat Ribs and rice. Soup to start (included in meal) and mango juice (Definitely the best juice Ive ever had). The plates comes piled high with rice, meat and salad. Funny story, I wasnt served with knife to cut steak. So I used my spoon to cut steak. Thats how tender it was. When the Owner stopped by table to check on everything, my wife asked him for a knife. I explained that I didnt need one since the steak was tender. But he brought me a knife anyways. The rice is amazing with hints of lemon and spice. I was chasing every last grain of rice on my plate. The goat ribs were tender with just a little charing. And of course, the steak was amazing, also with just a hint of charing. With our meal finished, we stood to leave, the owner came over to ask if we had tried the tea. It was in a dispenser on a side table for everyone to enjoy. The owner insisted that we have some for the end of our meal. Not wanting to offend anyone, we had a cup of tea. It was amazing. Im not a tea drinker, but that was crazy good. Now I understand why so many were getting tea. Its got hints of Cinnamon and is very sweet. So dont wait till the end of supper to have tea, its there, enjoy it. The only complaint that my wife had, was that she ate too much. We took milk cake home for dessert. Bill was less than $60. With that service and great food, leave a healthy tip. Thanks Sahan for a great evening.
Love it first time and the lam was cooked well and very delicious
Amazing food, great price , halal, and great people
Best Somali food. Cant beat the beef stew
The best T-bone steak I ve had, seasoned to the brim amazing portions and amazing service very nice people
Lamb dish is super delicious. Customer service by Areej is so professional. The explanation of the menu and the cuisine by Areej is outstanding. Food
Perfect food but no moos
If you re looking for Somali food Sahan is a great option to try. They ve been around for over a decade providing authentic Somali cuisine. A good option to try is the goat ribs - they tend to sell out fast so go early! Overall the food is good. Keep in mind you get a lot more when you order take out (about twice the amount)!
We went for dinner couple of days ago. Ambiance was average could have been better. The worst part was the toilet. We used the handicap toilet. I found very messy. Toilet seat was broken and lying on the floor. No toilet paper or paper towel. Soap dispenser was empty. Nothing seem to be right in that toilet Vegetarian options: Did not see any vegetarian dishes
Best lamb and T-bone steak and rice, i ever had
Very clean welcoming restaurant the food was good, but I just felt the first time I got more quantity than last visit 2 weeks ago.
Really good food Great service Food
Best decision halal food in Toronto
Nice peeps. While the shop opens by 10 am on google, food is only served from 12:30 pm onwards.
Best steak I had ever. you can try many dishes available. but the sure thing is you will return back again and again. they are marvelous. the staff is more than friendly and always smiling.

Splendid
Best dining experience. Some of the best food I ve had. Definitely underestimated Somalian cuisine. 100% coming back
I rarely ever make reviews but I have to for Sahan. Sahan never disappoints! The food is so flavourful and plentiful and is the best kept secret when it comes to cuisine. Comfort food at its its finest! One of my faves is the beef suqaar with rice, my goodness so good with the Somali milk cake!
Great food, but wish the restaurant was a little cleaner.
The best of Somali cuisine in the city bar none. 5 stars.
My first experience with Somali food. Ordered the goat ribs. I enjoyed it very much. Tasted very nice. Delicious seasonings on ribs and the rice. Great portion size and price. Staff were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend.
Very rude people 15 minutes promises got food after 45 minutes washroom was horrible no soap no tissues smell in the food in my opinion waste of money and time.
Great service and delicious food. Very affordable with large portions. Great for familles and groups.
One of the best Somali restaurants Food
Too much wait time. We waited for almost an hour. Not happy with the service.
Beautiful restaurant with people so hostile , that you would like to ce back again and again the price is also very good for the quantity of food offered . Really loved this place .. Kid-friendliness: Ambient space to have ur kid seated not crammed like other places
Very tasteful and aromatic food. Very spacious dining area. Very professional and efficient staff . One of my favorite African cuisine restaurants.
Really good, love this place and come back a lot, it s just really far from me. Lose points cause it s a little price and food take around 25-35 minutes but worth the wait in my opinion. 8/10, bring yourself, your family, your wife, your friends, as long as you come.
So I came here a while ago as I was in the area and never tried this ethnic food before. The staff is nice and love seeing the owner taking the time to talk to his clients. It was a while since I ate lamb and ordered that to go, and it is packed with flavor but the downside to this dish was bone was in and there was a bit of fat still on. I understand this can add flavor to a dish I feel at least trimming the fat after the meal is cooked is needed as it really took away the enjoyment of the meal. My meal did come with soup but I mistakenly forgot to ask what kind of soup it was and I tried looking online but no description and I also called the restaurant but no answer so I didnt eat the soup due to dietary restrictions which was disappointing. In the end of the day I would give this place another chance but just not the lamb dish and I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.
People here know how to handle meat
It was my first time to order for take out And its already amaze me. The staff are from and easy to deal with ! For sure I recommend this for Your good savoury dinner and lunch Food : 5/5 |
Extremely upset about the incident happened today. Called ahead to confirm if they had cakes. Came from Ajax to pick their caramel milk cake. Was there 9:45. 15 minutes before the restaurant closing just to find out they closed the restaurant, all doors and phone lines. Please update your hours on Google if youve to close early. Apart from that, good food but had seevice experience.
Lovely food and a great place for dine in with family and friends. Overall great food and great customer service. Only thing i feel that can be improved is a little bit more quantity of food. The serving quantity is a little less, other than that great food and mango juice
We went yesterday and the food was very tasty. Traditional Somalian food. The owner was very gentle and friendly. Recommend Food : 5/5 |
The double leg chicken with rice and the split pea/ goat soup was very delicious and favourable.
It s a nice restaurant what I like in this restaurant that the owner is always there helping the staff & customers
Yesterday, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Sahan restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the exceptional service. Sahan restaurant offers a wide variety of Somali dishes that cater to all taste preferences, making it the perfect destination for anyone craving authentic Somali cuisine. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and seated promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere for a memorable dining experience. The menu at Sahan restaurant features traditional Somali dishes that are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. We indulged in dishes such as Somali rice, goat stew, and sambusas, all of which were delicious and reminiscent of home-cooked meals. The ingredients used were fresh and of high quality, enhancing the overall dining experience. Overall, our visit to Sahan restaurant was a delightful experience that we highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy Somali cuisine. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another delicious meal. If you are in search of authentic Somali food, look no further than Sahan restaurant.
The owner is a gentleman while the employees need to learn that from him. I have been here multiple times but recently the employees have been having some attitude.
The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Parking: This plaza is very busy so its not easy to find parking. At times you have to wait for someone to leave to get a spot. Food : 5/5 |
Best restaurant in East end , owner is friendly , employees are respectful , the food is Delicious
My first time having somali food in Scarborough, excellent atmosphere, apparently it got newly renovated as well. If you want authentic East African Lamb, I d recommend the goat ribs, their 10/10 with rice. Friendly owner too.
5 star for food and the owner is clearly super nice to fire these nonsence from the front cashier who clearly dont know how to take orders. Full of ego and waste a lot of time when you order for pick up .over thebphone .. about 40 to 50 min wait everytime Absolutely zero care for when we arrived ..... thats how we felt everytime. Absolutely unprofessional not caring ..i have had raised my voice at them they kept me waiting for almost an hour. When i asked they pulled out being muslim Card on me ... and i pulled a card on them. Extremely disappointed...tho this was my favor place to go to. Not anymore . They still owe me money ...hope they put it in charity . Why take order saying 15 min. Then make people wait almost an hour. This is not a hate but use your common sence next time before waste our times.
Amazing food, amazing service. Best Somali food I ve ever had.
My favorite is the beef stew on pasta/rice. Its delicious
It was my first time here and the food and service was amazing. I had the goat ribs and I highly recommend.
People were rude it was my second time trying Somalian and nobody acted like they wanted to help me
Delicious and authentic Somali food with a great ambiance. There is ample seating available inside and a broad selection of menu options as well. The goat ribs are a house special, delicious and cooked fresh to order. All dishes are served in a timely manner and the staff do a great job in creating a very hospitable environment for guests. Definitely recommend visiting and trying any of the dishes - the portion sizes are quite large and very well-priced. Worth checking out if youre craving Somali food in Toronto! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available Dietary restrictions: Halal Parking: Free parking lot Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
A delightful experience. My friend and I visited Sahan for Iftar. We had the goat ribs with rice, and the beef suqaar with chapathi. Both meals were accompanied by a soup and mango juice. Todays offering was a lentil soup, with hints of garlic and what might have been some tomato. Absolutely delicious. Loved the beef suqaar and chapathi. The rice was flavourful as were the goat ribs. None of the food was oily. Service was extremely pleasant and hospitable. The ambience of the place was charming. After Iftar, a group of men and women gathered in a corner where everyone spoke and was applauded. The women spoke and were applauded, the same as the men. Charming. We were told they were discussing business, and floating business ideas. But then this was contradicted and we were told it was politics. It didnt seem contentious so it couldnt have been politics!!!! What a lovely experience. Thanks to @eatmorescarborough for recommending Sahan. Thank you to the owner and staff at Sahan for providing us with this wonderful culinary experience.
One of the best spots at Lawrence! You have to try their beef stew (soghaar) and the milk cake!!
Best Somali food in Toronto! Amazing customer service too!
Halal Somali restaurant. The interior is clean and well organized. The food was well presented and tasty. With some of the dishes , a free mango drink, a soup is added. However check availability of soup as it finishes fast. The owner was very welcoming and hospitable. He often checked with the customers to see if all was well. The service was quick. Overall I recommend this restaurant for the food and ambiance. A venue for amily and friends any time of the year. Keep up the great work. Vegetarian options: Salad and rice. Parking: First come , first serve parking.
The presentation and taste are amazing Thank you Somiea & Nano For the Great Customer service Food : 5/5 |
A true hidden gem. The food is always tasty and fresh and the portions are big. The stews are absolutely amazing and so flavourful. If you havent tried the milk cake, youre missing out big time!
The t-bone with rice is absolutely delicious and great portion size for the price! I will be returning again. 10/10
Good tasteing food. Not spicy; great service! Mango drink isnt that sweet & watery (rather than thick and very sweet) which I liked as and enjoyed ! Food
I can t really review the food as I was never served any! We arrived at this restaurant at 9:30 (half an hour before close). We asked the lady at the counter if we could dine in. She said yes and proceeded to take our order. While we were waiting for meal to arrive we told the lady (who was the manager) that we were going to the neighboring business as long as we came back by 9:45). We came back two minutes before 9:45 and the lady tells us she cancelled the order and subsequently closed the kitchen. We asked if we could at least get the order on take out and were refused service. I ve never experienced service so rudely before. I m not planning on going back.
Milk cake is the best!
I ordered before 40 minutes and when I arrived there they said my order gone take 30 minutes more it is very bad service Im really upset
free fries:)))
Best Somalian food ever
The food here was so delicious and very high quality. The restaurant was very clean and well taken care of. Our waitress was friendly.
Love the T bone stake at Sahan restaurant. The portion is very big and its very filling. Highly recommended. Food
We ordered a platter for 5 people. The food was delicious and the customer service was amazing Will definitely order from here again :) Food
Bad customer service!! I am buying his food since 15 years. But yesterday (FRIDAY) @3.15pm the servers does not give extra hot souce even you tell them you are Indian and like your food extra spicy. I have to beg them for extra hot sauce. She asked me to pay extra 50c and remain adamant on it, even I just bough 50$ worth of food. If you go any restaurent in the world and asked them I like spicy food and request some extra spicy on the side, they would give without hesitantly. I would have to stop going there and tell all my friends to avoid this business even though it would sadens me!!
We went on a Saturday and they served us within two minutes of ordering. It was very obvious that the food was microwaved. The tables were dirty and the service was non-existent. You had to get up to order or ask for anything. We also didnt get soup. Shocked at why there are so many good reviews. Save your money.
Easily one of the best restaurants Ive been to since coming here. Sublime food!
If you want a Best place and delicious food I will suggest you to go to Sahan Restaurant, beautiful service the owner, the staff was very friendly and wonderful with us thank you so much for the warm welcome.
Wasn t nice, the tables always left dirty. Two female workers need to go
They didn t have 4 things in the menu, mango juice started like water. i left
Me and 2 friends came in here when in the area and while they had the food here, it was my first time trying Somali food and I absolutely loved it. Most of the menu is barbecued meats with their rice and salad. We opted for the T-bone steak and the goat ribs plates. 2 plates for the 3 of us were more than enough. The quantity of meats and quality were absolutely amazing. While I liked the t-bone steak, I absolutely loved the goat ribs. They were juicy, a little fatty and bursting with flavour. All of it went well with their rice and salad. They also give a juic and lentil soup on the house. The soup is bland but it goes amazingly with their green chilly sauce. I love spicy food and the lentil soup with the chilli sauce was match made in heaven. The service was nice and friendly too from the ladies. I will surely come back and try more of their dishes. Have wanted to try Suqaar and will do that sometime. Dietary restrictions: Halal
Most unprofessional service Ive dealt with in a long time. Im just glad I would never go back here again.
Very tasty Somali food and great service. The chicken leg is my favorite.
An updated menu would be nice. A lot of items seem to run out. Overall food and service are above average.
I ordered goat and rice. Both rice and goat were very fatty. Felt very uncomfortable to eat. Dirty restroom as well. Tissue papers were all over the restaurant floor.
It may seem pricey but they offer you fairly large portions of rice and mango juice and lentil soup is included in each meal. Meat is cut thin but its tasty. Id return for sure.
Food is great, but pathetic service by servers here. They are not trained to serve customers. Dine In experience is not that great here. It seems like they are working unwillingly. No smile, no enthusiasm for customers. And please never call them for order because firstly they wont answer. And if you are lucky enough to be answered by them, your order wont be prepared within estimated time. They would start preparing when you actually enter the restaurant. It happened with me twice. This time I ordered on call and I was told that it would be ready in 10 minutes. But when I reached after driving in this crazy weather, they apologized and said that they were closing early due to weather conditions and they dont have my order ready. It was really really bad experience for me. Atleast they could have called me and let me know about this instead of letting me drive with this weather condition to get nothing. Really disappointed.
Their portion is best
I dont really recommended this restaurant you can find a lot better one with the better service. I am always going to the moon restursnt but my friend invited me to Sahara tonight. We are coming all the way from Newmarket and Richmond Hill. The manager came but he didnt care about late performance and low quality of food.
Food is amazing, specially T-bone steak and thr goat
The foods are delicious and the staff are friendly. Sahan Restaurant is known as a Somalian restaurant.
A patron for years. Highly recommend the goat ribs and also lamb & rice platter, beef steak. Absolutely delicious. Friendly, warm atmosphere. My favorite restaurant in Toronto !!
Very bad service I m still way 45 minutes to get the order . Note that all the customers who entered after me got their orders and the last customers entered half an hour after me. And my request does not need time at all. Treating the staff very badly. Waste of my time in such a bad restaurant
The staff members are friendly and food is worth the price
The worst customer service ever! So rude, let us wait an hr and 30 mins for just a take out when no one was in the restaurant. Food was so dry. Worst place ever!
Great service and food is good to.
I came from Montreal craving this place as I used to eat here a lot, this time I was very disappointed, I ve explained to the waitress that I only needed two plates with a piece of the T-bone not the entire plate, She went to ask and came back with an approval from her boss to only find out at the end that I was charged for the whole plate, I asked again while they were closing and she said I charged you for two plates only while the amount was something else and I ve been charged for three.
The goat ribs. That s all. So good!
I wandered in because I was in the neighborhood and was blown away. The flavors are outstanding. The restaurant was very clean, well decorated and the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the beef stew and tried the milk cake, which was OUTSTANDING. Light and creamy. The portion sizes were incredibly generous for the prices. I cant wait to return and try everything else on the menu.
A Wonderful atmosphere and great service was experienced during my trip to Sahan. Not to mention, the amazing food for an affordable price. I would recommend this spot for anyone who has ants to experience authentic Somali food.
Tried Somalien food for the first time and we loved it. Portion was enough for one person if you can eat a lot. The people working there are really nice. Food is a bit pricey but worth it. Highly recommend place.
Very tasty food
I should have taken a picture before I ate half of the meal but it was so good that it didn t cross my mind. The chicken steak was very flavourful and filling. It came with lentil soup and a mango juice. I definitely plan on revisiting to try the other dishes.
The chicken suqaar is amazing!!!
The best Somali restaurant!
Nice food and service
Where do I start from firstly, the lentil soup is literally water and salt, the meat and the rice was very cold and very plain seems like all they use for the flavouring is food colouring and MR. noodles powder it was tasteless and to add insult to injury their mango juice was disgusting, it was water sugar and food coloring they forgot the mango part. Staff here had a lot of attitude except one guy who was nice and welcoming.but In all fairness the hygiene is good they kept everything clean. But food quality has dropped drastically I wouldn t suggest this place anymore.
They are loosing integrity in their quality of food I just ordered goat meat with rice to go and they gave me all bones, cartlidge and fat there was not even a spec of meat on the bones and I realized when I got home to feed my kids .by the way this happed 3 times in a row this month .Its an insult specially after the fact that I always tip
We have been there many times. Food tastes really good. Serving can improve.
The food is the best!
This is an awesome place if you want to taste steaks with rice n salad.. taste is so good. Also they serve a good amount of quantity! You can easily get full by ordering only one dish if u have a small family or order two dish if you have a big family.. Also don t think about the price.. Price is very reasonable too. So, what else you need!! Quality, Quality and the price all are set for you . Just get ready n grab the food with your family and friends without any doubts. Try Steak, Goat falfal, Halwa, Tea even what ever you like.. just give it a try.. you won t regret. The lentil soup comes almost free for per person with any meal you order And they will serve free banana for per person. It s their tradition to serve the free fruit.. Enjoy
I miss this restaurant. Used to go regularly with my friends when I lived in Toronto. The owner is very friendly and service is great. Food was amazing
Good quality halal food, huge helpings, friendly servers and excellent service. Every meal includes mango juice, soup and the main dish. We were a group of 10 and ordered goat ribs, T-bone, salmon, chicken stew and every dish was delicious. Their hot chilly sauce is tooooo good. Two thumbs up!!
Never disappoints, go try it for yourself and youll get why.
Superbly good food and reasonable prices. The Milk cake is wow super good. Must try.
Went to the store and they messed up my order and made me wait 20mins. They asked me to wait another 15-20mins so I left.
