Took a few dishes as takeaway - tofu, catfish, mac n cheese, liver and garlic bread, bread pudding. Portion Size is much smaller, Meat portions smaller each time I visit or take-out, Taste is at best mediocre now. This place was my Go-To, not sure what s happening lately. Service and atmosphere is always good though!

Ordered through ubereats. It was worth the wait. Voodoo pasta, jerk chicken wrap, and the best banana rum bread pudding. Since the uber order was packed with care and instructions followed, I can imagine how fantastic dining in would be.

The food was excellent. The brisket is fantastic! My girlfriend is vegetarian and they had a good amount of options for her to choose from. The service was excellent as well, and our server was very polite and kind. We will definitely be back!

Stopped here on the way to have a park to have a picnic and was not disappointed. Was greeted by a warm and welcoming lady behind the counter. She offered great assistance and her thoughts on what were the best menu items. Got the seafood linguine, cat fish poboy and bread pudding. She gave us water to have while waiting for our food and when we said we had our dog in the car, she said, no worries you can take the glasses outside and Ill let you know when its ready. When it was she came out to our car with our food. Such great service and amazing experience overall. The food was also to die for, great flavour. Seasoning was not too salty, everything was good to perfection. Would goo back and highly recommend this place.

Hi, Our group of 6 was there yesterday for the last day of Summerlicious. They were so accomdating and opened early for us. The food was enjoyed by everyone and the service was awesome! Keep up the great work. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!

Came for Summerlicious and really enjoyed the food, service and the coziness of the restaurant. I will definitely come back. The waitress was super attentive and nice. I would highly recommend trying their in house made hot sauce, very yummy. We had their jumbalaya pasta and lamb leg/shank? And it was 10/10. Added some hot sauce and it became 19/10. No pictures to provide cause the food was too good had to devour it.

I just had a tasty seafood linguini. I came to the restaurant for the first time with little expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is likely to become one of my favorite local restaurants. Glad I live a stone s throw away. I ll come weekly to eat here.

Don t know why we waited so long! Absolutely fantastic service, friendly, cheerful and upbeat. The catfish is in my top 3 fried fish I ve ever had and the jambalaya was top notch. Delicious food, very well priced, highly recommend! We re already planning our next visit!

Honestly the best Cajun Creole I ve had outside of Nee Orleans and Louisiana. Cook understands it s not about spice smacking you in the face. It s about the synergy of flavor. Can t recommend more.

The location is unassuming, but once you enter the place, you feel like you are in a fine restaurant in downtown. We ordered all kinds of food to taste and everything was perfect. Restaurant is very clean, smells amazing, and service was impeccable. There is parking just in front of the restaurant.

Loved the seafood linguine. The fried calamari is one of the best in the city if you can take some spice. Seating is a little tight.

Don t be fooled by the lack of frills. This place is totally authentic, flavourful, and delicious. I would seriously choose this place over Canoe in Toronto. Ordered the jambalaya and blackened chicken - the jambalaya was easily the best I have ever had. If I didn t live downtown I would be here regularly. Service was friendly as well.

Such a cute spot! Went in a bit too close to close and ended up getting takeout and MAN did it travel well, it was DIVINE! Will look forward to trying some of their dishes in house next time. Everything was fresh and delicious with generous portions.

My boyfriend and I chose this wonderful little gem for his birthday dinner. What can I say... nothing short of amazing! The food was fabulous, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the icing on the cake was a lovely lady named Judy. She was attentive, personable and we shared some great laughs together... she made us feel right at home. We will definitely make that a regular stop any time were out that way.

Went here just the other day because their menu looked good. I know the plaza and it would potentially cause people to pass it by, but don t be fooled as this place is fantastic. Our server Judith was so pleasant and fun and the chef / owner Sujee was very nice as well. We had the Creole Mac & Cheese, Hushpuppies, Blackened Chicken and Blackened Salmon and everything was delicious. My friend also had the Chicken Livers and Cheese Grits which he was quite impressed with. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again.

This is a small space but they have really made the most of it and I m so excited that it has the walk in appeal that it deserves. *original* It s set up primarily as a takeout spot but don t turn your nose at the dine in experience. I ve spent many occasions with my spouse dining in here. The food here is so damn good and Judith ( the owner) is an absolute delight. My favourites on the menu are the cornbread, calamari, cracker catfish, blackened salmon, lamb shank, and the sweet potato brownie. My hubby loves the pastas, gumbo, and the Mac and cheese with brisket. The other things are also great but those are the standouts to us personally. This is just one of those restaurants I always come back to. I love trying different restaurants but I need to come here a few times a year

Food is sincerely so very delicious. Calamari, mussels, corn bread and the shrimp and grits are top tier. The food is seasoned for the gods and the seafood is perfectly cooked. The service was also attentive and down to earth. Years in between visits since I live far away but the quality has stayed consistent if not improved. Ill definitely be back and with company!

My husband and I were driving along St.Clair and came upon this gem. So glad that we decided to play into our curiosity because the food was absolutely amazing and all the dishes were hot and fresh. The service was top notch. The lady was absolutely fantastic and made us feel so welcome. We live in Durham Region and feel it is worth the drive to try this place again.

My friend who used to live here recommended here. So great to find this place. I had some jerk chicken wings and liver, they taste like straight from New Orleans!! Going to try some other stuffs from menu soon.

Ordered our food about an hour ago and couldn t stop myself from giving one of the most deserving 5 stars. Food made us feel like our moms cooked it! Delicious and well seasoned, plus good amount of veggies on the side. And like everyone else commented on, corn bread is absolutely amazing. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen.

Wow! Wouldnt have expected this little restaurant in a plaza would be so awesome. I got the blackened chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens. It was cooked beautifully. The chicken was moist, full of flavour and had a lovely crust. The cornbread and calamari were also delicious. Our server was so kind and friendly. We will definitely be back. I have to try a Po boy!!

Had ubered from here once and then have not been able to stop. Have started dining on a regular basis. Love this place. The blackened chicken sandwich is to die for. The loaded burger is amazing too.

In here, a lady working in here. The ladys behaviour is too much bad. She give priority their customers first and then delivery driver. But she cant care with delivery driver. Remove him from here or give him proper training. Very bad lady behaviour to low.

Caught dinner here for Winterlicicous. Its very small. Like, tiny. There is parking but its very limited. You might have to park on a side street and walk in, depending on the day. Super cozy, but they overbooked and we had to share a table with another couple. However, the food was fresh, tasty and the portion sizes were amazing. The blackened salmon was super tasty, my friend enjoyed her lamb shank and took it home for her brother to enjoy leftovers. We had the bread pudding and ice cream for dessert, would recommend 10/10. Id say to try and pop in during the week or a weekend at early lunch time to enjoy all they have to offer!

Great service, great place amazing staff the hostess/waitress was very helpful friendly always getting us water and seeing that we had everything on our table. The chef was amazing with his delicious food . Chef Sujee is cooking up some delicious Cajun and Creole-inspired meals here, just in time for Mardi Gras... and year round, for that matter! We stopped in for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago and were greeted warmly by our waiter, Vachon. The cornbread arrived warm and fresh; my blackened chicken was presented on a bed of fluffy, buttery mash potatoes and respectfully steamed broccoli, French beans and carrots. The lemon beurre was creamy, ample, and delicious. My date tried the blackened catfish, which was tender, flakey, and juicy. He sampled chef Sujee s homemade hot sauce (secret ingredient is anise who knew?!). It is a taste sensation that is complex and delicious while still delivering a solid heat punch. The beer on tap was fresh, cold and a perfect accompaniment. The location is the only thing that lacks credibility. The Beach is a long way from the St. Clair and Midland address. But Upper Bluffers Park doesnt have much of a ring to it. No matter, if you dig this kind of cuisine, you wont find anything like it since Southern Accent shuttered a while back (formerly in this location, FYI). So, if you have to drive a ways to get here, its worth it. As for the decor, its decidedly bohemian French Quarter. Meaning, it aint fancy. But if you ve ever been to the Big Easy, this place will give a feeling and food experience that is authentic and satisfying. All that s missing is the live music!

Got takeout Shrimp & Grits and oh my it s tasty. Charred spicy shrimp with sausage and perfect textured grits. We re very lucky to have this restaurant in Toronto.

I ve order form here many time in the past, have not in a while decided to get brisket dinner as well as some blacken chicken and a side of corn bread. Spent about $60. The corn bread had definite MOLD on top it was green as you can see in the pictures! I ordered to to give to my toddler and when I felt it it seemed to not be very fresh, thank god I investigated more closely. When I called the manager he was very dismissive and was actually chuckling telling me it s unmixed flour. When I assured him I m very positive it is not, and that it definitely looked like mold his response was well what do you want no apology or I will check the rest of them or a refund. He offered me a credit. As if I want more food when I m feeling quite unsettled. I ve worked in restaurants I understand things happen but the way it was handle was enough for me to say probably won t ever return unfortunately.

Dishes Ive tried are: - Gumbo with rice - Mac n Cheese - Corn bread - Honey garlic/Cajun spiced Chicken wings and fries - Beef brisket and Jerk chicken Po Boy - Crispy Cajun chicken wrap - Poutine with beef brisket and jerk chicken added - Cajun fusili - Bayou cheese burger - Fried calamari I love this place so much. The food is like a home cooked meal and extremely flavourful and filling with amazing portions. My favourite all time dish has to be the Gumbo with rice. I have loved every single dish Ive tried from here. Thank you for the amazing food over the years and I will continue to stay a loyal customer. I highly recommend you try their food!

Man... Disappointing given all the great reviews and scarcity of Cajun food in this city. Jambalaya was literally tomato paste and rice. The spicy shrimp tasted like Franks Red Hot was just dumped on the shrimp. Could have done that myself. The Pasta had an overwhelming flavor of tarragon. The only redeeming item was the 6 dollar bag of hush puppies. Great value and delicious. Nice herbs and fried to perfection. Overall, it was edible but disappointing given all the rave reviews. Maybe its time to give up on Louisiana food in this city.

The Mac and Cheese is arguably the best Ive ever had, and Ive part of a high end restaurant taking part in the yearly Mac and Cheese Fest. Im litterally contemplating spending the money to Uber Parcel the food over as ubereats wont reach.

The place may look like a hole in the wall, but the food was authentic and delicious. It was Mardi Gras. We ordered the gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp poboy, cracker catfish, hush puppies, corn bread and bread pudding. Everything was great. It will definitely be our Mardi Gras destination from now on.

My mother and I had been looking for a new regular Cajun/Creole restaurant for Mardi Gras since Southern Accent had closed. Tonight, we finally found it. While we were a little skeptical based on the location (we almost couldnt find the place) but we were blown away by the food. The presentation alone was enough to write home about. The Jambalaya was delicious. I got a tapas size and still received a balanced amount of the promised ingredients despite being a smaller portion. The gumbo, catfish and hushpuppies were cooked to perfection. Even the collard greens and grits had a taste to them I had never experienced. I couldnt finish my shrimp poboy from being too full but even an hour later, the fresh ingredients and flavor was still a home run. We even took some bread pudding home with us. The bannanas foster sauce would make the Brennans proud. With fresh, homemade dishes like this, you definitely get a fantastic value at great prices. Service was polite and very attentive. Though the atmosphere may lack much in anything distinctly New Orleans, the food and friendly staff make this hidden gem a party of its own. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a taste of New Orleans in the GTA. Food this good just has to be shared.

I was blown away by the impeccable customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing me with fantastic recommendations that truly enhanced my dining experience. But the real star of the show was the food. I had heard so much about the Bayou cheeseburger, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The patty was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful without being overdone, and the toppings were absolutely divine. The special sauce brought all the flavors together in perfect harmony, leaving me wanting more with each and every bite. And dont even get me started on the fries - they were crispy, golden perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. I could have eaten them all day! All in all, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and exceptional service. I cant wait to go back and try everything else on the menu - this place truly is a gem!

Food here has gone downhill in recent months. Ordered the Mac and cheese and asked for no bell peppers and was told it was premade and frozen so they could not make any changes to it. Hubby ordered the poutine. It was delivered without gravy. When we inquired about it we were told gravy was on the side, except they forgot to pack it. Meat in the po boy sandwich was cold. These all might be a delivery issue, but still really disappointing.

Decided to try this place for a Summerlicious Dinner on Sunday. Chose Hush puppies (2) and a Caesar Salad for our appetizers.A little disappointed on getting only 2 puppies but they were good. We both got the Blackened Salmon With Rice Pilaf And Seasonal Vegetables. Everything was excellent but the rice was just plain steamed Basmati Rice not the advertised Pilaf. Dessert closed out a good meal with Banana Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce. All in All, a good meal and hostess was very helpful and cheerful.

A tiny space that serves up tasty foods with big flavour. We had the jambalaya, macaroni and cheese, brisket po boy, hush puppies and the bread pudding. Yum! We will definitely eat here again! and approved

To be honest, this restaurant looks like a little dinner. It definitely needs some renovations, but Im thankful I still gave it a chance. The hostess was very kind and helpful. Service was wonderful. Lets talk about the food it was absolutely delicious. This is definitely a hidden gem. From the salad to the dessert, everything was absolutely flavourful. I will definitely be going back and have recommended this Jem to my family and friends. We had the braised Lamb Shank and the Chicken Calypso Linguine. I also had the hurricane (drink).

Got blackened chicken takeout based on the chef s recommendation. The chicken was awesome, spicy and flavourful. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The Upper Beaches Bourbon Kitchen is on our list of favourites!!! We will be back.

Wow ! Blackened Livers were spot on and the Lemon Beurre was just the right touch. Gumbo was amazing with great deep flavour. All the seafood was perfectly cooked. All the food was served hot and fresh. The Corn Bread was delicious. The Bread Pudding was out of this world ... The banana combined with the Bourbon Sauce made it amazing.

Ive been meaning to try this restaurant for some time now and finally got that chance to, and when I tell you, I was blown out of the water. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were out of this world. Our waitress was a lovely lady, so curteous and kindness was pouring out of her. Ive never in my life ordered appetizers, sides etc from restaurants cuz I come for the main dishes and not willing to spend my money like that. At this restaurant, I ordered an appetizer side, 2 mains, and dessert, and it all came to a reasonable price of $75. The place is small and cozy, but thats just the thing that makes it worthwhile. Ill be back to try everything in the menu!!! Parking: Small number of parking spaces, but some people park in the neighborhood, Scarborough GO and walk to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs so it is easier for wheelchairs to move around. The place is small and cozy so there might be some difficulty in navigating a wheelchair in the restaurant.

I ordered on Skip today to blindly try something new and omg Im so glad i did. Calamari Mac n Cheese and Seafood Pasta.. SO YUMMY Great portions and I cant wait to go visit. I gave 5 stars for atmosphere too because Ill 100% take the chance again on this place that Ill love it when I go in person. Cheers and all the best.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner last night at the Upper Beaches Bourbon House. First, it s located in a tiny strip mall and appears to be mostly a take-out place with a few tables. There is virtually no atmosphere. However, looks are deceiving as we were in for an incredibly good meal and excellent friendly service. We started with bourbon sours that were expertly made. Took us right back to New Orleans. Next we had the blackened chicken livers with lemon beurre - SO delicious! For my entree, I had the creole jambalaya with shrimp and it was outstanding. Plus, it was plated as if we were sitting in a Michelin star restaurant. We were so full we took our bread pudding with bourbon sauce to go and ate it later. Another fabulous dish. A big shout out to the friendly server who made our meal so enjoyable and, of course, the chef. Bravo!! We will definitely be back.

My partner and I moved to Canada a year ago and couldn t find any Cajun near us! We found this place yesterday in Toronto (we live an hour away) and it is so worth the drive, even during Toronto traffic! All of the food we got was spectacular and immediately reminded us of the Cajun spots we enjoyed where we used to live in the States. Everything was hot when we got home and tasted amazing! I love the sauce they put in their shrimp, it s the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and savory. The hush puppies, corn bread, and Mac and cheese were also my favorites!!! The woman who helped me was so sweet and kind as well :) thank you so much for the meal, we will be back!

Arrived hot and fresh. Cornbread a wee bit burnt pickin corn from me teeth still. The wooden utensils made it seem like eating popsicles. Dem taters was yuuuum and garlic goodness in each bite. Its an old classic cozy place with some diffrent type of delicious food . Its homemaid burger was amazing and I recommend it . Inside of the resturant needs some renovation , but it is not affected their good services and the quality of their foods . Parking: A small parking , but almost empty

We eat here for many special occasions, and today we needed a party platter of food and opted to have UBBH take on that task. The crew there went well above and beyond the call with their party platters and every single dish provided was a huge hit at out company Christmas party. Everyone was raving about the jambalaya and the beef brisket. There was lots of food left at the end of the party, but nothing that came from Upper Beaches was left. All of their trays were wiped clean. Thank you for everything, guys! You really made the function a memorable one.

Amazing food. Would definitely recommend the blackened chicken, cracker catfish and the bread pudding. The grits were better then in New Orleans.

I grab a meal from here at least once a week and the consistency has never been a miss. Priced well for the quality and portion size. Staff are very friendly and always welcoming. Highly recommend the blackened salmon (with mash instead of rice), blackened chicken, calamari and voodoo seafood pasta with shrimp only.

Wanted to try something new on Uber Eats tonight and I am so damn amazed. I can feel the love that was put into the dishes. I got Chicken Calypso Linguini.. so much seasoning and flavor. The mashed potatoes melt in your mouth and taste like heaven. Great portioning, so delicious, order here now.

This is hands down the best Cajun Creole food I ve ever had and some of the most delicious food we ve enjoyed in recent memory. We were delighted to discover how many vegetarian/vegan options they offered and they accommodated allergies as well. We had the Tofu Po Boy sandwich, Cajun Tofu, corn bread, and the hush puppies and honestly, everything was perfect. Even the hot sauce was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant and can t wait to eat here again!

Absolutely terrible service from this place. Ordered through DoorDash. 35 minutes later A hamburger was ready. My Dasher s comment was many many Dashers waiting and very slow service. Unacceptable. Will not order again.

I cannot wait to sit and eat in person someday. The calamari as mentioned by others tastes great. The Blacked Chicken also tastes great too. The Jerk Wings are authentically done. Was very impressed. I will make sure to take pictures next time when plated. Take out container pictures I feel never give the food justice

this was my first time trying cajun or creole cuisine and it was SO GOOD. ive never tried catfish, collard greens, or grits before and i really liked them all!!! everything was soo yummy and well cooked, along with the cornbread and mac n cheese. i will definitely be ordering again!!!

This is my second time having food from this place. Both plates have been delicious.

The salmon with garlic mashed and veggies as well as the blackened chicken are both delicious. Also the lady who runs the front is an absolute delight! Her customer service is phenomenal and for that reason I will be returning.

I usually wait until the second time I order from a place to give a review... its been a few moons. You know the type of place where one dish is all they need to be stellar? The mussels. You should 100% order these and then anything else. Save the sauce from the take-out tray for rice or anything the next day. Im a catfish fan and they do a great catfish (Ive had it two different ways). This is a gem and if youve driven by it 100 times to get to Kingston Road please order from here. South Scarberia isnt known for its stellar food choices.

We had blackened catfish, calamari, bread pudding, and corn bread the first time we ate here. On our second visit, we had creole jambalaya, bayou mussels, corn bread, sweet potato fries, and sweet potato brownie for less than $60, tip exclusive. We have been very satisfied! To top this is a very cheerful customer service.

good food but they raised the price of their burger from $10 to $14.... huge jump... and it doesnt even come with a drink. just fries... probably wont eat here again.

Excellent service. Beautiful presentation. The cooks and owner are here making sure everyones experience is with a personal touch. We ordered the Jambalaya with Andouille, chicken and ham also the tippsy shrimp which was pasta. Nice home made touch to every dish. These dishes are from Cajun Creole. And a Tamil owned restaurant owner named Sugi that should be supported by our community. You can do takeout order from Skip, and Uber. You wont need to add hot sauce but if you want its a home made hit sauce. Everything is made in house.

First time was so good, second time was disappointing.

This place was amazing. I dont know what has happened but the food quality is not what it used to be. I ordered the seafood Linguine I, in anticipation of that great seafood Linguine that I have had many times went to Sun valley and picked up a large block of Parmesan cheese, garlic toast and a bottle of wine. I am set so I thought. So disappointed. The dish in the past had a cream sauce that was to die for. Now it has a tomato sauce that gives the flavor of a musty mold flavor. I was so surprised. What has happened to my favorite dish that they made. I looked at the reviews and could not see one response from the owner be it a good review or bad review. I guess the new owner just doesnt care. Oh,well I am left with a block of cheese and a bottle of wine. All is not bad! Cheers!

Amazing food and service

We ordered take out and it was 20 minutes later that we ate, so perhaps this was a contributor. The wings were okay 6/10 - too much heavy breeding and chicken quality tasted poor. The sauce was good Corn bread 8/10 - crumby and good! Burger 5/10 - it was soggy, and too messy to enjoy. Flavours were okay Fries 7/10 - basic fries, could have used some Cajun spice! Bread pudding 9/10 - quite yummy!! The bourbon was potent! Mac and cheese 2/10 - gross. The breadcrumbs were uncooked and the flavours were off. Based on other reviews, we were very surprised by our experience.

Should be one diners drive ins and dives. A bit of all of the above but the food is prepped and cooked like a high-end restaurant. It is impossible to order the wrong thing, its all amazing and I am very picky foody.

TL;DR: Fast service, friendly staff, and delicious food at a great price! Would highly recommend, especially after a long day at the Bluffs. My friend and I came here after we tried to hike up to the Bluffs (which we didn t) and driving around to find a good place to eat. Even though it was just after lunch, around 3pm, the place wasn t too busy so we were able to get a seat right away. The staff was very friendly and the service was amazing, even when it did get busier with online orders and other customers. There was no wait time to be seated and we waited no more than 10 minutes for our food. I got the calamari and my friend got one of the pastas and both were so good! They both had Cajun, which added a little kick and flavouring to the food. From what I tasted, you wouldn t go wrong with anything from the menu. To end off the meal, we had the bread pudding and that was a great call. We definitely got our moneys worth! I would definitely recommend paying Upper Beaches Bourbon House a visit if you re in the area! It s a great small business that has great service and delicious food.

Ive lived in the area for about 5 years and always seen this place next to the Pizza Nova.. wanted to try it but was skeptical.. came here for a family birthday.. I had the blackened catfish (not my fav) but I did try the seafood jambalaya linguini and really enjoyed that. The cornbread was okay.. The place is quite small.little hidden Jem

This is probably my favourite restaurant! The staff are always so friendly and attentive and the food is delicious and well priced.

The food was really really disappointing, given all the good reviews. We ordered the shrimp poboy (dry flavourless shrimp with dry bread), fries described as fresh cut but arent cut from fresh potatoes, and a shrimp and grits that did not resemble the photo in any way. The shrimp sauce was heavily creamy and nauseating and its appearance extremely off-putting. I threw it out. What a shame.

By luck, we saw the menu online and ordered the Blackened Catfish our first night here, and we were so thrilled with the meal, the quality of the food, the temperature and the spices.. we ve eaten here 4 out of 6 nights during our stay. This restaurant deserves 10 stars! One of the best blackened chicken and mashed potato so far. So very wonderfully cooked. My husband ordered blackened salmon with rice and vegetables and was in love. Definitely will be going regularly to this place!

Food is really good, the receptionist is super friendly and always attentive with a happy face. The menu is a bit pricey but I will definitely visit the place again to try other dishes they serve.

Their shrimp Po boys are amazing, very well seasoned, the bread is both perfectly crunchy and soft and they mastered the sauce. Plus hand cut fries is always a win!
