I visitedBig Trio Wonton Noodle on a weekday lunchtime with my sister, and the place was quite busy, which is always a good sign. I ordered the Shrimp Wonton Noodle and it did not disappoint! The portion size was generous, with four large, flavorful wontons in a steaming hot bowl—perfect for a chilly or rainy day. The ambiance is simple and typical of a traditional Chinese restaurant. It’s kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible making it a convenient choice for families and all diners. Additionally, parking is available which is always a bonus when visiting during busy hours. Service was friendly and incredibly quick, even during the lunch rush. For just $11, the quality and portion size make it excellent value for money. It's the kind of comforting meal that will keep me coming back!

I ordered the shrimp wonton with noodle and deep-fried fish skin. I love the soup, and the wonton is huge. The fish skin does not have a fishy after taste. I would definitely come back again.

Probably the best wonton mein in the GTA. service is fast and you get your food within minutes of ordering. The wontons are huge with whole shrimp. Affordable and there’s plenty of parking. My family’s go to place for wontons mein!

First time coming here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. It was not busy at all and there was plenty of seating available. Ordered the shrimp wonton noodle soup and fried fish skin. It came out quickly with 4 gigantic wontons. I normally don't do spicey, but their chili oil elevated the dish. Would come back and would recommend.

I’ve been here thrice and I’ve refrained from posting a review because I expected them to do better on my next visit. The food is FANTASTIC to say the least, it’s hot, clean and very satisfying. The place is clean and comfortable. But the service leaves much more to be desired for. They don’t make you feel welcome, neither do they seem happy about their jobs. There’s a clear lack of commitment from the servers, because they don’t respond to your greetings, thank yous or welcomes. The only reason why I dislike this place is because of how the servers make me feel like I don’t belong there. It’s depressing. The food is amazing through. I always get the noodle in soup with the beef brisket

FULL SERVE EATERY Big Trio Wonton Noodles was originally located at Brimley and Sheppard. They moved to their current location. There are 4 locations in total across the GTA, the newest location is in Aurora. It’s a full quick service restaurant. They bring the tea, napkin and chopsticks to your table. The menu is situated right in-front of you beneath the glass of the table. One can view the kitchen from the dining room area. The Server was attentive the moment you stepped foot through their door. She even opened the door for us as we walked inside. The restaurant looks inviting and modern with bamboo plants welcoming you at the entrance. For the price paid, the proportion was filling in comparison to their competitors. The shrimp wonton was huge and delicious. The bowl was completely filled with noodles. The beef brisket was so unbelievably tender. I didn’t even need a knife. Chopsticks was enough. But please use a knife if you are feeding little ones to be in the safe side. Once you are done, you can ask for the bill. Your Server will present you with the bill and collect your payment from you right at your table. I’m not sure if they take credit cards as I paid with cash. No cash, no problem as CIBC is in the same shopping plaza as this restaurant. Wonderfully located in Chartwell Plaza. You can pickup groceries at Bestco, grab drinks at Tim Hortons or Real Fruits before or after eating at Big Trio Wonton Noodle. Disabled parking is right across the restaurant. There is a push button to open the double doors. They sell raw shrimp wontons to go if you wish to cook them at home.

We live downtown, but don’t mind driving here for another great meal! Texture of noodles excellent. Food always delicious, thank you! 😊❤️😊 **************** They moved from Sheppard Ave. East to 2361 Brimley Rd. Newer seating, same great food. The won tons are large, filled with large chunks of shrimp, the noodles delicious! Quick and friendly service, thank you! ****************** This place serves excellent authentic delicious large shrimp won tons. We usually order them in a noodle soup with beef tripe, very tasty. The noodles are cooked perfectly. Price is reasonable, with quick friendly service. Highly recommended!

We dropped by for a quick lunch, the best Won-Ton soup in town, exceedingly quick service, large won-ton with oversized shrimps, excellent chili hot sauce too. A new abode at Chartwell Shopping Centre, nice airy & bright atmosphere, great vibe, same old menu with great tasting jumbo size soup noodles, extremely fast & efficient service with helpful staff.

September 21, 2024

Today our experience was terrible due to the service. I was a regular here with my family and always loved the wonton noodles. When we came in today it was not busy. Everything was fine up until we ordered our food. When our food came, no one gave us napkins and chopsticks. We tried to wave down the servers, but they were occupied with their tasks; refilling their chilli oils, vinegar etc. One server even looked at me and ignored me completely and got back to what she was doing. IT WAS NOT BUSY!!! We ended up getting our own chopsticks, but still, no one was aware that we did not have utensils the entire time as the food was coming. Overall, I m very disappointed. I love the food here. Will probably explore other wonton noodle options or only order takeout from here.

Delicious, clean and good service! I ordered paired noodle with fish balls and beef, love the red vinegar and chilli oil I met the proprietress who I haven t seen for a long time. Before the epidemic, I often went to the old restaurant for working lunch. Every time I walked in, the proprietress would turn to the chef and tell me that the beef and wontons are a double combo. The beef should be more cooked and the noodles should be more cooked. I am very happy that I like this restaurant. The old store has been passed down all the way

Always hits the spot. Simple, fresh, classic, piping hot and comforting ! You can t go wrong with wonton noodle soup in a nice fish broth. We always order the wontons and dumplings ( wonton & sui gao ). Definitely add fish skins too as that delicious salty & cripsy crunch accompanied with the soup broth adds a boost of flavour to your meal. Their homemade chili oil is the best Ive ever tasted! You can buy it and bring it home too. Clean, renovated and comfortable seating. The staff are always attentive, friendly and helpful. If your extra hungry make sure to try their braised beef brisket too.

January 20, 2024 update: New improved location at Chartwell Shopping Center complex - 2375 Brimley Road (Huntingwood and Brimley) Love this place. The staff are always pleasant and very courteous. The staff run it well and efficient - common dishes usually take under a min to be in front of you after ordering! I usually just have the plain egg noodles and my parents usually have the egg noodles with wonton or dumplings (one is shrimp only and the other has meat mixed with shrimp, in case you are wondering you wondering what the difference is). The egg noodle is best eaten fresh on the spot, especially mixed with red vinegar and their delicious hot sauce. My only feedback is that the dumplings / wontons are huge and can get stuffy (feedback from my mom) and if they can consider making the wonton / dumpling smaller, it will help.

JAN 2024 EDIT: Big Trio has moved to Chartwell Centre into a larger space with cool decor, some of which it inherited from the old Mabu Cafe. Still a solid spot with good texture noodles and soup. The wontons could use a bit more dried flounder flavour and the cuttlefish balls does not have much cuttlefish flavour to it. ~~~ Good bowl of wonton and dumpling noodle soup. They have rebranded but are the same owners. This location has also opened up for dine in again. Tables are distanced well, and the staff will now bring you the tea/water (it used to be self serve).

Ordered the most common combination noodles for this kind of restaurant. The beef tendon and Wontons were at their average, so as the broth. The noodles was on the harder side for me. I wouldnt say it is chewy but definitely feel like under cooked. I dont know if there is an option to cook softer or what, as least i had not been notified. The service is good and attentive. Food is served 2 mins after I placed the order.

Saw this place on two top wonton places in Toronto articles so I decided to try it myself. With high expectations, I hoped it would meet it and yes it did. The wontons are as big as advertised. Plump and flavourful shrimps filled. Surprisingly, the soup dumplings were even larger and just as tasty. Our group had both and well as the beef brisket with wonton and noodles. Needless to say we were quite satisfied. Seats around 40, clean and parking in the front lot. Friendly quick service. Decor is classic oriental style. Lots of good luck greetings, lucky kitty and signs throughout. Prices are good. Would recommend for wonton/noodles craving. Only open from 9am till 6:30 pm everyday.

If you are looking for a quick bit to eat and not worrying to much about atmosphere but just good service and a no thrills meal? This is the place. I came to the previous wonton restaurant before this one at the same location and had a bad experience with e service so I was about worried trying. This time no problems, staff can speak English and Cantonese (not sure about Mandarin, there no Mandarin speaking customers when I was there) and the table and kitchen staff was very fast). I ordered the shrimp wonton noodles in soup and added extra noodles because I was really hungry. Once ordered, it was prepared and was served to me within 5 mins. It came with 4 large shrimp wontons, you can see the whole shrimps inside and had a little crunchiness when you bit into them which is good thing and tasted great with red vinegar. The noodles and soup I can say didnt have much flavor to them. I dont think they use MSG so thats also a plus. Parking can be hard during busy times because its parking is shared with TD Bank . Seating is about 10 tables of four and spaced out (non crowded). I have to say, I was happy eating here, shrimp wontons are acceptable to me, noodles could have some flavor to them but I can live with it. I will definitely will come back for lunch because from start to finish eating and back to work was under 30mins so thats a plus for short lunch breaks like what I have... Parking: Parkingay be busy/full during lunch.. shared parking with TD Bank

Shrimp wantons (4 pcs) noodle in soup at $11.00 is more pricy than other same stops in Scarborough. The wantons are solid filled with shrimps and pork meat. The noodles are springy and hard to chew and the soup taste of yellow ghee, which is not flavorful. This is not your every day lunch meal obviously. Substitute food of BBQ meat on rice is more value.

Big Trio Wonton Noodle 2361 Brimley Rd, Unit D2 Scarborough, ON M1S 1K6 Date visited : Sunday October 22, 2023 Overall Rating for experience : 3/5 Comments : First time visiting this resto. It is newly opened. It was very packed when we visited around 12pm - 1pm Service : 4/5 Service was friendly enough, staff spoke ok English. Service is relatively fast. Food : 3/5 It was a party of 2, just wifey and myself. We ordered Beef Brisket noodle soup (egg noods) $11.00 and Vegetable Lo Mein (egg noods) $12.00. Wifey enjoyed her Beef Brisket noodle soup. Brisket was tender. Brisket added nice flavor to the soup. As for the Vegetable Lo Mein, the soup on the side was good, only 1 type of vegetable, choy sum, I think it was and also served with oyster sauce. The noodles had a slight funky aroma along with, due to the fast service, the noodles I feel were just quickly blanched to reduced the funky smell. Also the egg noodles were a bit on the dry side. You can get extra noodles for $3.50 PSA for those with GOUT : there might not be much you could enjoy here, unless you have your meds handy. Available proteins : Beef, beef tendon, beef tripe, shrimp w/pork wonton, pork, cuttlefish balls, dace fish balls. No chicken options. I thought the Shrimp wonton would be a safe option..but I asked and the shrimp is mixed with pork for the wonton. The only items I found safe were plain noodle soup and the Vegetable Lo Mein. NOTE : Due to managing gout, I am unable to review beef or pork protein or animal innards foods. Along with Anything that has commercial baked bread, and asian dishes with soy sauce and oyster/hoisin sauce. Drinks : A tea was provided when we sat down, tho not sure what type of tea. I did not drink it due to the caffeine content Portion Size Value for Money Spent : 2/5 The beef brisket noodle soup was a good portion for $11 CAD. However the Vegetable Lo mein at $12 CAD feels like a rip off, there is no protein component. Worth a repeat visit : For me, yes, if Im hankering for a hot bowl of noodle soup (plain). Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options

A good and affordable wonton place! We got the pork with tomato sauce lo mein, dace fish balls and fish skins. I really enjoy their lo mein texture.

Dishonest shop. Tried to charge us extra $5. No descriptions in the receipt. When we confronted her, the staff just said something we didnt order. We were the only table there. I dont think its a pure mistake.

Best wonton place! My favorite to this day, only downside is how early they close. Many times I wanted to get some food but it s already closed. Also some people can only go after work during the weekdays. Longer hours would be nice

I usually eat a lot at Leslies Sanyuan restaurant. The soup is much fresher and sweeter, and the wontons are also delicious. Unexpectedly, at this restaurant, all the wontons have a fishy smell, the noodles and wontons are very astringent, and the soup is much lighter. The lettuce with mixed sauce only tasted mushy... I was extremely disappointed. I thought it would be more authentic since it was from an old restaurant.

Big Trio makes probably the best shrimp wonton noodle soup in all of GTA. It s a very unassuming and hidden gem. I heard this location was also the first and original. With golf ball sized shrimp wontons, these noodle soups are just around $9/bowl. Talk about cheap eats but delicious! If you are in the east end and looking for a bowl of comfort, this is the place.

Delicious soup noodles. Shrimp wontons and cuttlefish balls are 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter, and each wonton is made of ~4 shrimps. Ask for some chili oil if you like your food on the spicy side. If getting takeout, check your order before you leave, or be prepared to go through the hassle of trying to convince them on the phone after the fact that they got the order wrong.

Although wonton noodles can be packaged and eaten as takeout, the crispiness of the noodles is different! When dining in, the fresh and hot food is served in front of you, you can sip the clear soup, taste the slightly crispy and freshly cooked bamboo noodles, and the delicious prawn wontons. You know the feeling of satisfaction! Personally, I prefer the noodles from Da Sanyuan. The double noodles or the lo mein taste better! The wontons are big and the prawns are delicious. The dace balls taste good but not smooth enough. The dumplings are good, big and filling! The price is also a little higher than before

The noodles here are pretty good: bouncy and not too much lye water. The cuttle fish balls are nice and the beef brisket it standard. I find their penny pork sauce to be a little strange but tasty. It is hotter than other places and has mushrooms in it. Overall it is a reasonably priced wonton noodle option in the east end. Only complaint is that they close early. So if you want to go for dinner, go early.
