Specializing in Cantonese dishes, this casual, modern outfit also serves some Pan-Asian items.
I have dined here since the restaurant opened until today, I won't come again. Yes, the food price is reasonable but the quality and the service is bad. We ordered steamed minced beef rice noodle roll today. We took a bite. It tasted bloody stench. We took a look. It's all red inside, only 30% cooked. My husband and I spit it out immediately. I showed it to the waiter and asked for a replacement dish. He came back and said the chef said it was cooked. I asked to talk to the manager. The waiter came back and told me that the manager said even they gave me a new dish, it would be the same (meaning he didn't admit they had a problem serving raw food) and so the manager cancelled our order. I regretted not taking pictures of the raw food and kept the sample to file a complaint to the ministry of health. Bad food. Bad service. Congee Queen does not deserve my business.
I was truly impressed by their commitment to maintaining the same prices despite rising costs elsewhere. It’s refreshing to see a place that values its customers enough to keep their menu affordable without compromising on quality. The food was delicious as usual , the portions generous, service wise required improvement but I would say it’s good. Congee Queen restaurant stands out as a reliable and customer-friendly choice. Highly recommended!
i wasnt going to post this but since the lady demanded a tip. I might aswell share it. everything was going well.. enjoying the food then towards the end…with the last bit of the congee i poured the soy sauce in my congee and a fly came out with it. we got a server to check it out .. she apologized and offered a free desert. but imagine my entire family used and digested the food already using the soy sauce. fine whatever but when we were about to pay a lady demanded a tip. TIP . very disappointed. wont be returning. i dont recommend. i feel like puking just by looking at the photo !
Food was good. But the one server(Middle-aged woman) was awful. She was very intimidating. When we ordered, when she served some food, when we asked about takeout, she was the worst at all the times.
The restaurant is clean and I’m giving 5 stars because they’ve made my favourite soup right. Crab meat fish maw soup is excellent, the BBQ pork rice plate isn’t bad either. Overall good food and nice environment.
Now I often order from this restaurant or gotten take out but I have never gone in to eat until a couple weeks ago, that decision definitely was a let down. on Monday July 15 I went in to have a sit down solo date. they sat me beside the area where they sort the dishes, the seat was broken and the floor was dirty it had some sort of oil spill on it, the worst party about my experience was the whole time I was there one of the staff at the sorting station gave me the dirtiest looks, she kept looking over at me in total disgust, it I felt so awkward, was it racial ? Was I doing something wrong ? I couldn’t understand😞. the service was rushed but my server was nice, the atmosphere wasn’t friendly at all I understand they were busy but thats no excuse for bad customer service dirty floors broken seats no to mention dirty looks.. the food was good but I will never go back to eat there again, even though it’s one of my favourite places to order from, I’m not even sure I would want to order from there again either, the bathroom was also not kept at all. A very bad experience overall. They have another location on don mills maybe I will go there instead
Very tasty food. I come here normally when I pass by Scarborough. I get the empress fried rice and salt and pepper squid every time. I'm a bit sad that the prices have gone up so much due to inflation.
I came here 10 years ago, and the food was great. Today, the fried dough sticks are disappointing—not freshly fried but reheated in the oven. Very dissatisfied. The BBQ pork rice is still good. But the little fried fish that come with the Typhoon Shelter lobster aren’t fresh anymore and weren’t refried, so they're not crispy at all. They're so tough you can’t even bite through them. The Golden Milk Cake tastes ……..It doesn't have the rich, creamy flavor it used to have. It's gone downhill.
The food is of high quality and reasonably priced. There are so many customers. Recommended.
This is the worst experience I have ever had. When we ordered takeout, the store did not deliver tableware. When we opened the cover, we found a hair stuck in the wonton noodles, and the skin on the surface was too dirty. It was really disturbing. Nausea and nausea! When I called the store, the woman who answered the phone at the front desk had a very bad attitude. She also tried to shirk responsibility and said it was none of her business. You dont have tableware, how can we eat in the company? ? Do you catch it with your hands? ? ? I hung up the phone without even a word of apology. This attitude will only make the customers feel scared once. There is no service when eating in the restaurant, and everyone is competing for tips. I heard from internal staff that the kitchen was not clean and they grabbed customers food directly with their hands. It was not hygienic and I had to report it to the health officer!
We dont have reservation when we visited this place at 5pm. Few people were eating and lots of vacant seats. We were seated in a small round table and we are 5 adults and 2 children. We ordered lots of food and barely fits in the table. We need to remove some plates and bowls just to give some space. As a server you should have initiative to transfer us to biger table. For the food taste was bland. Ive been to mississauga and markham branch which is good. Disappointed with this branch!! Not coming back!!
The place is a rip-off! Trying to charge me for dishes I didnt order! The tablet added foods we didnt not place. Plus, the waitress agues and never apologized for the mistakes. I will never go back!
Came to the restaurant as part of a large family gathering. Food was tasty and the server was friendly.
Compared to a year ago, they have reduced their prices on some common dishes but serving portions also reduced. Food taste remains commendable.
Fridays and weekends are busier than usual, and you might have to wait to be seated. No too long. Food is very good, taste and quantity Food
Roasted duck and congee my favorite !
Employees really fight for the tips and its mandatory already its in your bill.
The food is always amazing the portion size versus price might be some of the best value Im seeing in todays restaurant scene. looking forward to going back soon Vegetarian options: Amazing vegetarian options highly recommend the salt and pepper bean curd
im a cantonese chef here in downtown. i really liked their food. true perfection. shouout to everyone in the kitchen.
Always good food there!!!
Congee Queen Perfect Spot for a Graduation Dinner! We recently celebrated a graduation at Congee Queen, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, perfect for gathering family and friends. Their menu offers a wide variety of delicious, authentic dishes, from classic congee to flavorful stir-fries, so there was something for everyone to enjoy. The staff was attentive and kept our large party well-served throughout the meal. The portions were generous ideal for sharing and making the celebration feel even more special. And don t miss out on their chili pepper hot sauce it added the perfect kick and took each dish to another level. Congee Queen was the perfect place to mark the occasion, and I d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to host a memorable, family-friendly event!
As you may know, this is a franchise chain. Its one of my least favorite locations. I find this place to be dingy and not the cleanest. The food is ust OK, as is the service. Parking: Its part of the mall Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level and easy access
Weekend dinner business is very good and the food is served quickly.
There is a cockroach in my fried rice!
Good service and food was good
Fast and big portion on the plating compared to other Congee Queen
This place has turned into more often a fast food type of restaurant. But food is still good.
The food was ok but unfortunately poor service especially a rude female server yelled at us before we took a seat what destroyed our whole meal.
The food is fair, but servers attitude are terrible. They treat customers as slaves, always yelling at them.
All aspects are satisfactory. It was crushed by the similar Dragon Porridge in basically every aspect. If you live nearby and dont want to cook, you can come over for a meal. You have to wait a long time for a table on weekends, so dont go there if you dont need it. But it s really hard for me to understand why those bastard waiters can keep working? They all had poker faces, as if the guests owed them money. However, it is said that the Queen s Famous Porridge is a god-like existence among the Filipino people, which really makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Their eel fish fried rice the best I have tried
Very crowded and loud, no services at all, food (noodles) from the last customer still on the table when we sat down.. the side of the bowl got sticky congee that wasn t washed out properly. a lot of items are crossed out because out of stock?
Visited Congee Queen on Thanksgiving day. Was busy as usual. The service was fast and quick. The servers were polite and quick too. The dishes were moderately priced. Loved the Congee and the shrimp dish. It is a little noisy but great value for your buck
Just here to share some sentimentals lol. First time here. I was surprised this Chinese restaurant serves a Filipino dish called toratang talong. Which I never seen in the menu o f any Filipino restaurants I visited. Only DNHS main students will know the importance of this dish. In their daily lives. Lol. happy to experience it. Hahaha. And miss those HABs Eatery days.
Busy busy busy... Food is excellent but pricey.
Service was exceptionally quick and the food is always so delicious at Congee! The portions just seemed pretty small compared to your usual vast amount.
We love the cleanliness of the place, lovely waiter and waitresses. Theyre all nice and friendly. The food was great!
We have gonne here often but everytime we have an issue with some waiters not speaking English but the last time we went which sill probably be our last visit, they were trying to charge us 1.00 for a slice of lemon!!!!... really???
Very good
Excellent. Very very good.
I was making the order through DoorDash. Everything went well at this point I received the text/email confirmation. When I arrived at Congee Queen I showed the email confirmation to the lady (manager Nicole) to obtain my order, however she kept asking me the order #. I showed her my email confirmation and text messages however it didn t have an order number she was looking for. Then she raised her voice and said everyone is able to provide the 5 digits order number if you don t have your number I don t have your order. At the end I provide my name, my phone number and my order details for her unwillingly to look for my order. Apparently I was ordered from DoorDash not the restaurant app so I don t have that particular order number. If your restaurant only serves people ordering from your app then don t associate with other ordering platform.
Fast service, and loads of food.
Relatively authentic Hong Kong taste, the price is moderate, but the location is a bit subtle.
Congee Queen in the Agincourt Mall is the best restaurant in this part of the city for an excellent family dining experience with Cantonese cuisine. Everything about the food is top notch: variety, presentation, preparation, quality of ingredients, very generous portion size, tastes, and textures. There is something on the menu for all tastes and dietary needs. Service is welcoming, prompt, professional, and helpful with menu selection. The restaurant is clean in all areas and well maintained. Being in a mall, there is ample parking and is accessible via public transportation. Vegetarian options: Thee restaurant provides a wide variety of vegetables and tofu dishes prepped in a variety of ways. There is a Buddhist dish on the menu. Parking: Despite the popularity of this restaurant, you will have no problem finding a parking spot within minutes of the front door. Wheelchair accessibility: The dining room and restrooms are easily wheelchair accessible.
Taste was good but the service attitude was so rude and careless
The food is excellent and the service is also great! We ordered the Cantonese chow mein, shrimp in shell, and the fried turnip, their speciality. Portions are great and so we had left overs to take home. We will continue to come here regularly as the managers and staff are great . Food
Decent food and good prices and fast service
Best Congee Queen location. Food and drinks were amazing and always fresh. The BBQ dishes are especially delicious and the atmosphere is great. Location is ideal for large parties as well.
My favorite congee place. Always great service and food comes out fast and furious steaming hot and tasty.
Amazing food and wonderful service!
The enviornment is good and food are better than any chinese restaurants around the area, surprisingly it even taste better than the markham congee queen. Customer service were on point and my bday party there was a success.
Great food with friendly staff. I would say this Congee Queen is the best among of all other Congee Queen locations!!! Strongly recommended!
A combination of ultra friendly staff and well prepared dishes with reasonable prices in an elegant and socially vibrant dining environment makes Congee Queen Scarborough a great dining experience.
The service attitude is so bad. As soon as they come in, they threaten to guarantee that they have to leave an hour and a half after their meal, which makes customers very uncomfortable. Every waiter had a poker face and didnt respond to inquiries. The whole meal felt like a group of walking robots. I wont go there again! I will also tell my friends around me not to go! Barely 1 star, because I can t post it if I don t select it! A little disgusting! ! ! ! !
Every time we go there, the food is really amazing and keep the very good qualities no doubt To have a dining or lunch there
After a busy day, I was craving some Cantonese roasted pork. It was late and most Cantonese BBQ spots were closed. I found out through the UberEats App that Congee Queen offers the dish, I had never tried their Cantonese BBQ before, but I am glad I did! The roasted pork was exceptional!! The skin was crispy (chip-like), while the meat was perfectly marinated, not too salty, keeping it tender and juicy. I say it s the best in the area. The Hong Kong style milk tea was surprisingly great as well! It had a wonderfully aromatic and flavorful profile, without acidity, which meant it didn t linger for long. The tea texture was also silky, and thick, very authentic Hong Kong style milk tea!
Great family dine in restaurant, food was good and reasonable price. Food
I am giving it a low rating because the restaurant charges one dollar for a slice of lemon. I asked for lemon in my water.
Great food, good amount of food, price is also good for the quality, only thing for some people is when ever you need service you need to get the servers attention.
Sea bass with secret sauce was disappointing. The fish was overcooked so it was tough unlike before. It was tender and delicious in the past. Today however we got a lot of bones and the fish meat was tough and the noodles lacked flavour. Food came fast but one person in our group complained that no one refilled his water in the end which is true We ve been going here for years. They seem to be on the decline unfortunately.
There was construction in the parking lot that made parking a bit tricky. But parking is usually pretty good. Food is great. My family and I frequent this place.
Good food and price is fair. Just a bit noisy.
Second location Ive been to of the chain. Feels like more seating than the one I. don Mills. Service is quick with the app they have for ordering. For any issues the servers will assist you. Parking: Shared parking the plaza Kid-friendliness: High chair available Wheelchair accessibility: Automatic doors and only steps outside with access ramp
Amazing Restaurant! Lots of food, must try the BBQ Food
The waiter is so bad. There is a woman who looks too fierce. I don t have any change today. I regret tipping too much...
Terrible terrible service. They are not flexible. Asked for soya chicken breast and they totally refused even though we said we d pay extra for the white meat. They only wanted to give us chicken legs which we are not fond of the dark meat. We asked the waiter if we could speak to the manager and the waiter said it was the manager who said we couldn t have the soya breast portion. Only the legs. We ve been into other Congee Queens and they always accommodate our request that we only want the breast portion of the soya chicken and willing to pay extra for it. The Congee Queen on Don Way West by the Shops on Don Mills is way better service than this one at Agincourt Mall
The food has unfortunately downgraded a lot. Sloppily made, barely warm and tastes mediocre. Definitely not coming back.
Good food
Thank you to the attentive staff. Family of 5 came for lunch and the presentation was amazing as well as the portions were enough to fill my kids!!! Thank you and we will definitely be back again.
Good food and the consistency is always there.
I have order a beef tendon and beef brisket noodle in soup. It is all of the beef fat but not beef tendon and brisket. Disappointed!!
Highly recommend avoiding this Congee Queen location. We got takeout from this here, The turnip cakes tasted off, like it was going bad. The seafood vermicelli was soggy and did not have the usual taste as the other locations. The location in Markham and Mississauga are way better.
On a rainy day, I found myself craving some comfort food, and this truly hit the spot. It was exactly what I needed!
I visited once many years ago and thought it was okay. This time I was disappointed. When I ordered Tingzi porridge, I counted two dry mini squid tentacles, and the rest were all pig skins. What was even more surprising was that there was a pile of leftovers from roast duck that had been roasted overnight. The whole bowl of porridge was filled with odor. It smells like roast duck. I probably wont come again in the future.
Bad service, we came with 18 people $400, we reserved the spot ahead of the time 7 days ago for birthday party but the server put us into a very corner of the restaurant. We are very disappointed with the service from this restaurant
Very bad service
Cashier is always quick. This is good. Love the food. I just wish they would have a lot more pictures of the food on menu. Or visible so we can order. I would order more. But their menu is hard to know what you will get. Food
Cant go wrong with congee queen. The service is great and the portion is big. Had a group of 9 and ordered 8 dishes, barely finished everything. $19.60 per person after tax and tips.
Love the food...good portions...
It was very good, and good service
Good
I have eaten here and taken out many times. The Cantonese-style barbecue is good, but the quality of other meals varies. Sometimes it is bland and difficult to swallow, and sometimes it returns to the standard, it seems to depend on which chef is in charge.
Ordered congee(preserved egg and pork). Pork is not fresh and has an off taste. I know they make fresh every day. But obviously the pork they used is not fresh.
Food is very good. Service could be friendlier.
Great location, nice staff, amazing food! Our go-to is the Cantonese chow mein, but Im sure everything here is great! Very accommodating staff! They were especially kind & helpful with my daughter (& her diva requests, lol)! Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my requests pertaining to food allergies. Kid-friendliness: They accommodated my daughters every request (from food to seating to comfort). Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to help. Super nice!
Great service , plates of fried rice, vegetables , fried noodles, and wonton came hot and abundant. Price is a little higher than some other places, but the amount and quality is far superior. Would definitely go more often with the family of 4.
Good food, big portion, reasonable price
Nearly the best bbq pork I ever have in Toronto. The portions are great two orders can satisfy three people.
Getting worse! The floor is not clean and food is not as good as before.
Good service.
The Thai-style fried rice doesnt taste right, its not spicy, the portion is quite substantial, and the tofu inside is sour. The overall feeling is so-so!
My favorite authentic go to Chinese restaurant. Ive been a congee queen client for at least ten years. Always fresh and consistent. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan choices available
We always came this restaurant to celebrate the occasion with our family, but this day we got a terreble order!! We came here because I m craving of stirfry lobster! But they serve different kinds of food, they talk to him not that ordered, he can get it! And he said in 5minutes coming, and they cook faster than the 5minutes like in minutes, they come the lobster, they not cook another one like my order before. They washed it the first order then they fry a little and they serve it, but not same the order I wanted before. Not same! Very disappointed.
Food is not bad but is not tasty either. Service is ok. Atmosphere is like eating in flea market, so noisy. Food : 1/5
Congee Queen started in Thornhill and has expanded across the city. There are now 9 locations in total. They specialized in Cantonese Chinese Cuisine. I have personally visited all 6 locations by this time. It is a well known franchise that has been around for ages. Ordered the Shrimps Wonton Soup (8 wontons). D2 $12 Regular size. It doesn t contain any noodles. You would have to order the Shrimps Wonton Noodles Soup instead. Beef Brisket Rice. H27 $13.75 Fried Eggplant Omelette. This is a new featured dish. Service was quick. Several Servers were attentive to our table. They are fluent both in Chinese and English. Food was delicious. Hot tea is complimentary. Quality is still the same. Ambiance was good. Price has gone up like inflation. FYI: Lots of menu items at this location is no longer available. They had crossed these items with a black marker on their printed menu but these same items still appear online so don t be disappointed later. Oh, their online menu pricing is current. You can pay either cash (with a 5% discount), debit or credit card. They will ask you your choice of payment at the time you ask for your bill. This restaurant is located in Agincourt Mall and faces Sheppard Avenue with no direct access to the mall. This mall has a Walmart, No Frills, Dollarama, Pizza Pizza, Burger King, Real Fruit Bubble Tea, Chinese Bakery and Lottery Kiosk. Parking: This is located at Agincourt Mall so there is lots of parking available. Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking spots are located closer to No Frills and Walmart in Agincourt Mall The push button for the main entrance double doors are not functioning at the time of visit.
Food is good, service is good, the only problem is It feels like their AC is not working. We are sweating which we eat congee and hot soup noodles. I wont be back until they have them fixed.
TOO HOT. Have you even heard of A/C?! I love this location and the food and the staff, but the entire restaurant serving 200+ seats has one small fan. I prefer to pay for food that is not flavored by my own sweat.
Dear Reader, Ben here. If you re considering a summer visit to Congee Queen in Agincourt Mall, prepare to sweat like a marathon runner in a sauna. I recently dined there with my girlfriend, her parents, and friends. The lively atmosphere and tantalizing Chinese cuisine drew us in for years, but the temperature had us questioning our life choices. The Good Stuff: Congee Queens turnip cakes are hotter than a gossip session at a family reunion. Flavourful stir-fries, fried rice, and Seafood congee (our favourite) kept our taste buds dancing the cha-cha. Kudos to the hard-working staff who make this culinary magic happen! The Hot Seat: The dining room felt like the inside of a dragon s mouth during a heatwave. I politely asked a server to crank up the AC. Her response? Already on. But her forehead glistened like a dew-kissed dumpling wrapper and sweat beading faster than they can evaporate. Two passing servers whispered (as translated by my girlfriend), It s so hot that my underwear is soaked and the other, good luck convincing big brother to lower the temperature. Big Brother s Dilemma: Who is this elusive big brother ? Is he a heat-loving lizard in disguise? I investigated. Lo and behold, the thermostat near our table read a scorching 28°C (82°F). The AC was on indeed but on HOLDING, effectively not doing anything. Our neighbouring table shared similar passive-aggressive remarks. Why, Congee Queen, why? Our theory: more cold drink orders, faster table turnover, and secret savings on AC bills. But what about our comfort, our elderly patrons, and the staff s sauna experience? The Verdict: Dear Big Brother, let s talk. Lower the temp, save our sanity, and prevent elderly heatstrokes. We re all in this spicy soup together. Experienced the same, my fellow Canadian and Chinese brothers and sisters? Then, tap Helpful and maybe our collective mind can influence change together.
Roasted duck taste good
I havent been here in a long time as I prefer another location. But I love how they make the turnip dish here.
So many menu options, but a very busy restaurant.
Enjoyed their fried rice dishes. Always fresh. Looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu in the future.
Congee queen always hits the spot for me. Great service and relatively quick for the amount of food we get
Their North York and downtown Yonge location are our go-to restaurants whenever we are craving for Cantonese food That been said, we often dine in or order take outs, they never disappoint us. From food to service to atmosphere, all consider one of the best place to get a pleasant experience without any issues Regarding the recommendation dishes, that will always be the one on the first page of their menu - collie flower stir fried Chinese sausages and bacons simply yum Plants of parking around the North York location though the downtown location, it is better to take public transit to the restaurant due to parking could be a little challenge on weekends or holidays
The food was good except for the chicken was a little though. Service was excellent. Food
I came with my sister and parents. The first thing that we gave to say is that the utensils, bowls and plates are very oily and dirty, like they aren t washed. The rice is pretty dry. 5-star to the congee though! It s very flavourful. We also recommend the radish cakes! They re crunchy on the outside but soft and hot in the middle.
Good = Asian food + sea food
Very affordable, huge selection. The waiters and waitresses are very helpful and very efficient! The decor is modern, the atmosphere is low-key and casual. Vegetarian options: There are a few which would contain Bean curds with mixed veggies there are a lot of options on the menu. Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats and high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to the restaurant as well as inside.
Pretty good Chinese restaurant overall. Gets quite busy at times but the food was good overall and the service was reasonable as well.
We came here on a Saturday night for dinner as a party of 8. The food was good and it was served relatively quickly after we placed our order online. The restaurant was quite noisy too due to the number of people but thats expected. However, our main issue was with the attendants at the front desk. The service from them was extremely rude. There was a particular young woman who literally yelled at my father and gave attitude and tone. Speaking disrespectfully to a paying customer and someone much older than you is so disgusting. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
BEWARE COCKROACHES! This place has always been a popular place, always full ! I was there for dinner the other day and had the worst experience! While eating dinner at one of their booths, cockroaches decide to come join us, not one but 2 . The waitress took a napkin and killed one the other escaped. The restaurant manager was patronizing and unapologetic, he said these things happen and we cant control these things and carried on like this was a regular, normal thing that happens at this restaurant. He did not offer a refund I had to insist, nothing but a patronizing, meek smile with I hope you understand and I hope you come back again !! What the #^#*#! I do not recommend this unhygienic restaurant who unapologetically thinks I need to understand that dining with cockroaches is an okay experience !
First time trying this restaurant. The food is very tasty. There are so many items to choose from the menu. I definitely have to go back to try the turnip dish. We ordered 3 dishes. The House Seafood Niodle Special, the Suzzling beef with mushrooms, and of course the fried squid. The portions are large, and the taste was satisfying. Parking: This location is in Agincout Mall, so the parking was abundant.
Great food but had to wait around 20 minutes for a table.
The food is great and the price is reasonable. Quick service and food is hot when served.
Excellent food and service as usual. Afternoon tea time is great with a free drink. Food
Food is good, not great. Service is slow. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly although some kids won t like the menu Food : 4/5 |
Food and service use to be very good but now has gone down hill. Now service is lacking although there was 8 - 10 servers around they expect you to scan QR code to order, I left my phone in the car and asked a server to take my order but they refused and insisted me go to my car to get my phone to scan the QR. Food quality went down quite a bit also, we order congee and the congee had no salt and taste pretty watered down, aside from that we order a few bowls of noodles in soup and the soup had no flavour what so ever and again tasted watered down, this is showing signs the kitchen staff has probably been changed. We use to go here for lunch and dinner on weekdays or weekends and have never experienced these issues till recently, don t think we will be going back to this location again
The order that we had for lunch yesterday was terrible and the service was so poor. We will never come back again
Picked up some take out food on Mar 31 at 5:30pm and the lady ( dont know if it was an employee or the owner ) ripped me off and added a 12% tip on my credit card. If you are paying for take out make sure you read the bill and check the amount. I didnt look at my credit card receipt until I went home and the total amount which I was told was $41.87 but the credit card receipt was $46.89 with a tip of $5.02 added on without my authorization. I hope the owner will read this and find out what is going on, the person who did this stole $5.02 from me but you have lost a costumer for life.
Always love their food. Too busy for personal service but very efficient. Never dined in, it might be different
Worst Customer Service Ever!!! This should be a NEGATIVE rating! The male server was rude. He should learn some Canadian manners on how to treat customers with respect instead of acting like he owns the place. Make reservation in advance and he had a nerve to deny your seating giving you a bunch of lame excuses!!!! Then he gave away your table to someone else who just walked right in. Whatever concerns you told them, they replied back with we dont care!!
HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS LOCATION!!! We dined in here as a party of 9, it was one of our stops for my mothers birthday. We were seated at our table very quickly. However, when we were ready to order, the servers behaved disinterested and made you feel as if you wanted to leave. They didnt explain anything, they took away all the menus while we were ordering, not after. We ordered the congee seafood soup, 2 chicken dishes, the vermicelli dish, and a fried rice. I asked specifically for a soft shell crab fried rice, as we saw it on another table, and the waiter stated to get another one, as its the same thing, etc. When the dish came, it was bland and nothing like what I asked for and the waiters, despite us being a larger party, were not attentive at all. They served the dishes and basically ran away. They didnt set up the dishes, they left the cutlery in a pile. Supplied no napkins, and we had 4 kids with us. It was just a very cold, dry, bland boring experience in itself. Now the food, was absolutely tasteless. Soup had no flavour, trash. 2 chicken dishes, general taos, too sweat, and over breaded, and again, although sweet, not flavorful. The pineapple shrimp chicken dish literally had 2 shrimp in it, and had no real flavour. The vermicelli dish was ok, but nothing special, and we had about 7 speciality drinks, taro etc...all not top tier. They didnt even care to ask how we were doing, how was the food, what we were there for, nothing. Just treated like they didnt want us there. To be completely honest, we went in planning to try a ton of things, for the occasion especially, and we had more ppl for the group who were on their way, and we had to cut it short because of the treatment. In the middle of Scarborough, I would never had expected such horrible treatment, but it is what it is. Do not support this place. Our kids behaved impeccable and there was no difficulty given to the restaurant from our party, so it was really just them being awful. I hate to say it, but we were a mixed group and it felt like race was a factor, or I dont know what to say. We never experienced such horrible service, food and treatment. Do not support this garbage place, they need to close down.
Popular spot for bbq pork and other Cantonese eats!
Good portions. The turnip cake is the best!
I like it lobster and more good
A convenient located Cantonese cuisine restaurant: their BBQ foods are great, these are reasonable: porridge and noodles, stirred fries, Good for takeouts-save the kitchen chores. Vegetarian options: Braised tofu with mixed vegetables, plain stirred fries veggies such as Choi Sum, Chinese broccoli, Back Choi etc Parking: Its at the Agincourt Mall, so plenty of parking, week6tends to be busy, so may have to park a little further away in the big parking lot Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and boosters Wheelchair accessibility: The buttons on the main entrance might not always work, so its better to have someone accompanying to get in or just call the restaurant staff with your cellphone.
I love this place. Great Chinese food.
We got takeout and the portions are quite generous. With everything getting more and more expensive, it s nice to see the portions are not shrinking like some other places. The food is also fresh and delicious.
Not my favorite
Its been 4 years, and 6 hesitant visits to this restaurant before I wrote this review. Their food consistency here is really poor. Even when ordering their best reviewed dishes, there are always one or two dishes that come out under-seasoned, under-marinated or tasting like its been assembled using precooked ingredients instead of cooking or stir frying the actual dish. Compared to the amazing Don Mills Congee Queen location, this kitchen feels likes amateur hour. If you enjoy playing roulette, go to a casino. Dont come here and test your luck with what dish they might totally blow next. Not fun. Staff and atmosphere seem as expected for a casual Chinese restaurant. Really wished there was a good restaurant in this Agincourt plaza. Or that the chefs would just cook consistently for once.
1 shrimp fried rice for take out. Over $20 for a plate of fried rice with tiny shrimp, NO FLAVOUR whatsoever , no garlic , barely any egg, no veggies except some peas . They give you dijon mustard instead of real mustard. Absolute disgrace and rip off. Done with congee cheat.
The attitude of one of the server is really bad!!!!He does not want to serve you and he wants to kick you out!!! .
I have been to this location for a few times. Inconsistent Food standards level and bad service. I ordered the same dishes every times, and they never taste the same, either no taste or too salty. one time, I was given un fresh vegetables. the leaves were yellow when it should have been green. Did not complain. stopped going back for a year. I thought I was giving them another chance this time; however, it was another worse experience. the soup was so bitterly salty. The waiter asked me if I wanted to cancel the order or they can make me a new bowl. I said ok if it is a new one, turned out they diluted with extra water to make it taste less safty. I asked a waitress for another small clean bowl, I was ignored, but when the white person from the table next to me asked for the bill, she shown a better attitude and served them first and forgot about my request. Yes, because I am not foreigners. I had to ask another waitress for it again. the worst part was, I was told, they would give 5% discount if I pay cash, so I paid cash. I asked the waitress to give me a receipt, she told me because I got the 5% discount, I cant get a receipt. This is ridiculous. I told her if the restaurant charged me tax for the food, they must give me the receipt. She gave me the attitude and tried to argue and was rude, that I wont get the receipt. I was calm and insist to get one. Then, She told me, she would check with the cashier to see if a receipt can reprint. I am not sure if they even aware that it is illegal not to provide a receipt to consumers, no matter the method of payment. Never ever go back again.
Last night I ordered a takeaway order of salt and pepper squid. I opened it when I got home and immediately smelled the stinging smell. It was the smell of soda powder used in many Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong in the past. I barely ate one piece of squid and immediately vomited it out. I really couldnt eat it. Go down. Just throw the whole box into the trash can. If I could give negative points, I would definitely give negative 5 stars!
I asked my girlfriend to order a beef brisket rice noodle for takeout, and I found this is what they gave her!!! No Cantonese restaurant would serve beef brisket rice noodle like this!!! It is always in soup!!! And what they served us is not even on the menu!!! NOT EVEN ON THE MENU!!! They DIY this just because they can charge more on a fried rice noodles!!! You can t do this to people just because they don t speak Cantonese!!! No other Cantonese restaurant would serve beef brisket rice noodles like this!!! Even if you do, you should ask whether we like it fried or in soup, or even just frankly tell us it is not on the menu! !!DONT DO THIS TO PEOPLE ANYMORE!!!
I walked in and got a crispy roasted pork and a side of white rice to go and it was amazing. The atmosphere looked good and it seemed like everyone sitting there was having a great time. Its a place Ill go and sit for dinner with a group some day.
Called in a pick-up order last Saturday around 6:10pm because I read the other reviews saying how busy this place was. When I picked it up, there was a line up spilling through the front doors that I had to get past. The restaurant was packed, loud and noisy so I was happy I wasnt eating there. The congee turned out to be very watery and the rice noodle roll was thick and lacked flavour. I have eaten at the Heartland Mississauga location and their food was amazing, so it was disappointing at this location.
Worse experience Ive had in my whole life. I asked for a beef and vegetable chowmein with no seafood and some other altered dishes. Like chicken fried rice. I started eating my meals and told my girl I dont like this beef on the chowmein. She said that doesnt look like beef that looks like pork. Im a Muslim and its against my religion to eat pork and I have never had it before this incident. I grabbed the waiter to ask him what meat was that and he told me pork. Im like why would you put pork in my order when I specifically asked for beef and vegetable showmein with no seafood. He tried to blame it on me and just said he wrote down no seafood. If I specifically asked for no seafood and beef and vegetables only its simple English. Also he spoke English properly so its not like there was a language barrier like you may have with other employees. The manager than comes and says he will not charge me for the dish and give me a discount. I was so disgusted I left the restaurant and like 80 to 90 percent of my whole order on the table and paid the bill which was $63 and no I didnt leave a tip for the first time ever. The food now was not edible for me because I have touched all the meals with pork. His discount was also 10 percent thinking he was fixing something that couldnt be fixed. Honestly, I felt more insulted with a 10 percent discount, I get that when I pay cash at some place automatically. Ive been to this location and others in the chain with friends and/or family countless times. You cant fix this traumatizing situation at all. Wish I stayed home that day and just cooked.
Best congeee and foods in all GTA
Up on arrival, you are informed that you have 90 minutes, menu is extensive with great pictures to help you. Started off with a large hot and sour soup and a corn soup. Once we were finished that the rest of our food came out... and kept coming out. Great food, typical of our group, we ordered more than what was needed.
They gave us the wrong order then got angry at us for asking to give us the correct order. They also swung the bill at our table, and acted irritated that we asked for a replacement of the correct order.
Today I came to this restaurant with my friends for dinner. There was a waitress whose name was Ann. Her service attitude was so bad. She even pointed fingers at me and my friend. Ann said you asked us to go out for an hour and a half, and asked us why we were talking here. We didn t order. My friend said I m sorry. We ll order now and we ll leave in an hour and a half. Ann, the waiter, was still here to question us and said it s not okay for you to do this. My friend and I even said sorry to her. She He still stood in front of us and refused to listen to us. We were thinking that the waiter named Ann must be a family member of the boss! Otherwise it wouldnt be like this with us. But this is why there is such an attitude in Canada. If anyone encounters such an incident, they will be speechless. Can such a person still serve guests? He has a bad attitude and talks loudly. If anyone is like me, please protect yourself.
I had my birthday here 2 days ago and I live the food even has some left overs ! Big serving s!
The food is good and the price is good for what you get. We had 6 people at our table and we orded sizing beef. Beef and flat noodles along with congee and pad Thai was okay. Chicken, lobster plate. The good thing we all left full I would recommend them to anyone living in the scarbourgh area. Service was fast and friendly.
Poor quality. Sticker left on bell pepper on a to-go order. This is gross and I wonder if they actually wash their produce before serving. Yuck!
Excellent place for Chinese food !
Came here to celebrate lunar new year with my family. We were pleasantly surprised that the food quality was excellent. The food came out hot and fresh, the portions are perfect for family style. Recommend the fried rice with eel, turnip cakes and the satay rice rolls, they were a hit. Will definitely have more family dinners here. Only thing to keep in mind is that they have a 90 minute dining time. They may benefit from removing that, people would get a better dining experience if they are not under pressure of the time.
Im so disappointed, price go up, quality go down. Be carefull Food Poisoning
Not too bad, was taken there by my Chinese friend. Pro tip, when going to a Chinese restaurant, go with a Chinese friend that can converse with the waiting staff in Chinese, you getter better customer service!
Wow, I must say that I am impressed with the quality and timing of the food. Our food came out really fast after ordering and pretty much one minute after another. Our group of 3 has eyeballs that are bigger then our stomach, we ordered wayyy too much. No regrets tho, all the food are delicious. My most favourite is definitely the spicy and pepper salt prawn. Prawn are super fat and juicy. The spicy, salty, and umami really blended and danced together. Wonton are big, juicy and delicious. Chow mein noodle are crispy and delicious. Congee is also delicious, nice and velvety.
Almost go there daily for lunch. Amazing food, great price!
Pretty good still.
Went to eat dinner on a Saturday with the fam so place was super packed and lively. Ordered their Canadian Smoked Salmon Fried Rice and Beef with Mushroom on Sizzling Hot Plate. Love that their dishes came in really large portions! Saw other tables ordering Sizzling Hot Plates so we gave it a try and was not disappointed. The dish was tasty and impressive. Will definitely try their Wok-Seared Chicken in Black Bean Sauce on Sizzling Hot Plate next time. We got a 10% discount from paying with cash.
Service is very fast perfect for a quick sit down lunch. Food is also excellent.
Vegetarian options: Good variety. Food
This restaurant is located between a No Frills and Walmart making it easy to find. The food is good. The taste is quite consistent among their different locations. Food is fresh and large portions with reasonable pricing. Service is standard Chinese style, so it is expected. The atmosphere is the same as most Chinese restaurants, so that is expected too. Its a popular restaurant that has been opened for many years. Ive been here about 4-5 times over the past few years and find the food quality and taste are very consistent each time. Parking: Tons of parking spots.
Food was very tasty and filling, loved all the dishes we had (minus the rice was pretty plain). Highly recommend the turnip cake and cha siu/duck, they were great! Only 5% cash discount to note
