Food was amazing! I’ve had this spot on my list for a few weeks now and I stopped by this weekend. It’s very busy and people coming in and out all the time. I got the three meat and rice special - it was delicious! The pork and duck were so fresh and flavourful paired with the white rice just a perfect combo! Service was great and fast and very friendly. I highly recommend this as your next lunch stop!
One of Scarborough’s long standing institutions. 🙌🏼 I will always love their bbq pork, crispy pork/roast pork, and roast duck. It’s just sooooo good and it’s exactly what you want when you order it. Plus! Their prices are so affordable. This has obviously been on our “favourites list” since forever. For some reason, I don’t have any photo of their bbq They only accept cash so come prepared. And this is a primarily a take out place. There’s like 2 seats but believe me, you’d rather eat it at home. We also tried their fried chicken and fried rice platter (small). This was also very delicious! Make sure to bring a box tray with you when you pick up platters. They will come in foil trays but they’re really hot so best to bring a box with you.
this place is sooo good. I've been to other Chinese BBQ places but the meat here tastes so much better. Jack is great - amazing customer service
East Court & Mike’s BBQ is hands down the best spot for Chinese BBQ in Scarborough! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The BBQ pork, roasted duck, and crispy pork are simply out of this world—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And their char siu? Absolutely amazing, with that perfect balance of sweetness and smoky flavor. But what really makes this place special is the homely, welcoming vibe you get from Mr. Jack, the owner. He’s always so friendly and makes you feel right at home, treating every customer like family. If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering BBQ with the warmest hospitality, East Court & Mike’s BBQ is the place to go. Highly recommended!
This is my second time ordering a full pig from here and I was satisfied on all fronts. I paid $280 for a medium pig but I feel like it was on the larger side. The service was phenomenal and incredibly friendly - the owner recognized me from when I ordered the first time two years ago. The flavour was fantastic. The presentation was impressive. I've only ordered a whole pig on one other occasion from a place in Chinatown so I don't have much to compare to in terms of price, but I was thoroughly satisfied with the quality of service and meat. My guests were impressed with both the size and taste of the pig. It was devoured.
Got the 3 meat combo and it tasted pretty good but I've had better bbq pork and duck else where. It comes with ginger scallion sauce which I love. The meal was $13 and this place only takes cash.
I heard lots of positive reviews about this spot. I asked for a pound which is $14/lbs I ended up with $22 worth of roasted pork 🤦🏻♀️ I did read a few reviews with the same occurrence. Super disappointed as the pork is super crispy and delicious but in all transparency living between Markham and Scarborough- I could have had similar if not better and cheaper roasted pork elsewhere. For that- I will not be returning. Kinda cheesed to be honest.
Small place, good for take out only. We ordered pork bbq, crispy pork and fried tofu in garlic sauce. Good servings and affordable compared to other Chinese restaurant. All we got tasted so good! We’re so excited to taste it but the tasting supposedly ended up to eating on our way home. Good thing it’s more than enough for the 3 of us. Our first time here and definitely will come back again soon.
Good roast duck, crispy, on the salty side
We got 3 food, it was cold I understand the Cash only but i was hoping for a warm meal Food
Got off uber eats, portions were generous, meat was ok (crispy pork was the best), but the rice was straight mush and was also drenched in juices
Food was a bit salty for my liking, but I would go back and give it another chance.
I wanted to like this place but unfortunately I wont go back. Online videos said this place was good so I went to try. On the outside of shop it says 12/lb so Im thinking I want 1lb even if go over a little more could be 15 or 17 I find reasonable. I asked for just under 1lb, and he said how about this? it came to 23$+ before tax and I said I want under 20$ worth and he took a diff piece and it came to 21.50$ I gave up and settled for that. Already it is being dishonest with customer, you can just chop a smaller piece? literally thats what they do all day it cant be that difficult but he didnt want to. He said the bone is heavy .. I agree but when someone asks for under 1lb or just 1lb Im sure its doable even if you chose bone pieces. anyways on to the food. I tried it immediately in car to give its fairest chance. It wasnt warm because the piece he chose was sitting on bottom, not hanging. The skin is crispy so that was a good part. but it seemed it was very less skin, a row of meat on bottom didnt have skin. The meat was a little tough tho thats prob just the cut of the pig. And a little over salted. And had some dried pieces. But because Ive had some really bad roast pork before, this is 3star rating, it is acceptable still. The sauce is too strong for my liking. Yeah I rather go somewhere that cost more but is honest, if its 16$/lb and I ask for a lb I only want to receive close to that.
The sweet and sour pork and roast duck are particularly delicious. I must order them every time I go there.
Ordered roast duck, bbq pork and bbq chicken leg costs 61$ in total. All of them r cold and doesn t seems fresh. Bbq pork was ok. But the duck and chicken leg taste like overnight food.
Average taste and price. Nothing special. Food
One of the best mom-and-pop joints for Chinese BBQ. Inexpensive, plentiful, and delectable. Highly recommend if you like BBQ pork or others.
I have ordered roasted pork and BBQ pork, duck rice. It costed me >$ 60, roasted pork has a lot of bones and fat, duck and BBQ pork too, its heavy weight and cause me paid more money. Salted taste and duck skin is not crispy just bones. Its a waste of money, I will not buy it again. Too bad, this place is used to OK in the past.
Chicken and duck meat is not very fresh
I bought it on the way at noon. The roasted duck tasted terrible. I couldn t tell if it was made today. Fortunately, I only bought 1/4 of it. The pineapple and gourd meat was so cold that I couldn t bite it. It must be leftovers. I also asked for green vegetables. I was given a box of tofu, which was also terrible. I dont like wasting food, but I couldnt eat these. As someone who often buys barbecued pork, I would like to know why this restaurant hasn t closed down yet?
Always delicious!!!! Super friendly!!!! This is one of those Scarborough hidden gems!!!!
This store uses stale pork when ordering on Uber Eats and adds scallion and ginger oil to try to cover up the smell, but it really cant cover up the smell of the pork. Its a dishonest store.
The best in Toronto. Boss man very nice and generous. Everything is delicious here.
Cash only business. Despite reading multiple positive reviews and considerable hype by food bloggers, the overall food quality and experience failed to meet expectations, with the quality being only slightly above that of a supermarket. Nevertheless, I shall endeavor to visit once more, and should there be an improvement, I will edit this review accordingly.
Great restaurant for takeout. I have been waiting 2 years to visit and today is the day. I got the roast pork
The food was good but not worth driving to all the way from downtown.
Had the BBQ pork, roasted pork and soy chicken on rice. Both BBQ pork and roasted pork were pretty good. Soy chicken was decent but nothing special. Will definitely come back to try their BBQ duck for sure.
These people are shady They give you fake compliments and the BBQ here is mid at best
well, it is a small shop, just room to walk in, get your order, only room for about 3 people to be waiting at the same time. No dining area. I have only tried roast pork and BBQ pork, both are very good. Very flavourful. Price wise is competitive with similar eateries in the area. So, it is an okay place to grab for lunch, maybe take home for dinner. Will repeat when I am near and can eat in my car.
I asked for 1 pound and they provide much more than what i want. They looks experienced but the pork cut like amateur, but the taste is ok.
Great BBQ pork
I wanted to try out this place as I was craving Chinese BBQ. Let me just preface that the cook tries to upsell you on tofu and sweet and sour pork, meanwhile offering you less of the BBQ meat. Instead of a 2 choice and rice $9, it became a 3 choice and rice $10.50 but without 3 pieces of meat, its 2 pieces and tofu. The rice was also clumpy. The worst was adding in sweet and sour pork before I could even decide. It ruined the meal completely. He just wanted to get rid of end of day meat and it was gross. It wasnt worth the drive for me and I wont come back.
Very good sweet and sour pork the best in Toronto my favourite dish to order and if they run out I would highly recommend the bbq pork it was very good!!!!!!
Cash only. Best service, great taste and amazing value!
Delish takeout bbq!!
A hole in the wall takeout place with some of the best BBQ pork I have had, and I have had PLENTY! Prices are average, around $10/lb. but so delicious. Make sure you order the BBQ pork not lean! Also, ask for the sauce for it on the side, delish! I always adda bit of honey to mine and serve it with steamed jasmine rice and Gai Lan with oyster sauce. And as to the oyster sauce, see if you can find the Thai Chef brand, best of all. And for the chili dip for the pork, find some Koon Yick Wah Kee Chili sauce, chef recommended!
The owner always cuts more than we ask for even though we mention many times beforehand. We got BBQ pork that was rather burnt and did not realize it until we were home. Prices on the menu board outside dont match the ones inside. We got charged extra but couldnt stop the owner since he had already chopped the duck for us.
Super authentic Cantonese spot. Whole roasted pig start at $220 depending on the size. I highly recommend the food here!
Reasonable price and lots of ingredients! I bought two boxes of barbecued pork takeaway I will definitely return to help
My favorite lunch spot
Great food. The uncle and aunt behind the counter are always great
I drove 30 mins just to get food from him.
Good takeout places. Ordered BBQ pork and roasted duck and everyone liked it. Will be back. Food
Best BBQ in Scarborough. The owner is kind and welcoming, always making sure we get the BBQ cuts that we wanted.
Best Chinese bbq I have ever had. I am here once a month. The whole family loves it. Food made fresh daily. Even their ginger garlic sauce is the best Ive ever had. I put that s@%t on everything.
Came at a weekday 7pm starving, they close at 8pm, ordered a rice box, he cut a fresh duck but came to a surprise to barely any meat on the duck, and bbq pork... Its already late the food will go to waste regardless why not make the customer happy with a bigger portion. Quite disappointed. Had high hopes according to social media.
I ordered the steamed running chicken with the special minced ginger and green onion ,great taste .
Super tasty on so many levels. Tender bbq pork a bit of veggies. Roast pork was crispy. Highly recommended!!
Blessed portions and prices. One of the more affordable places to eat in Toronto! Super nice owner and workers. It is a modest family owned business. Small space but still seats available to eat.
This place is consistently amazing. Fresh, flavourful food. Friendly, kind service. The crispy pork and duck is always savoury and the scallion sauce is a wonderful addition on top. Great food, great value.
Delicious food! I always get the 3 meat combo roast pork, crispy pork & roast duck and the scallion sauce is sooo good. Cant recommend this place enough!
A weekly delight, theres a reason people drive from far, best roast pork and everything , atmosphere? Its a meat counter, food freshest at lumch Parking: Terrifying parking at times
I have to give East Court a 5/5 because this is my boyfriends absolute favourite place. He talks about it constantly and is always craving it. It is pretty far from where we live so we dont get to enjoy it often. Their BBQ is great quality and I love the green onion and ginger sauce that they provide. I usually get BBQ pork and crispy pork, with preference on the former. My boyfriend went to go pick up East Court yesterday for lunch and it was decent. I think the cut of meat this time was a bit different, the crispy pork was very fatty. Hopefully next time its back to the quality Im used to!
Nothing special about this place. I ordered the roast pork, it was fatty. I ve had better roast pork. I suggest Kum Hong BBQ Restaurant in Richmond Hill.
Personally preferred BBQ takeaway~~~ ^W^
Great price, great food, great service. I have spoken!
One day me and my gf went here in a late evening, they were about to close, But we were greeted with a smile and the order was well portioned and generous and this makes me come to the taste, it s one of the best I ve had so far. Very good ethics in work and consistency, the quality is never low.
I like the roasted pork they have
I ordered only a pound of roasted pork, its so bad, mostly fat and the flavor is off, doesnt taste fresh at all. This place is quite busy, especially for lunch take out. Definitely with my experience I would not come back.
Always stop by here when in Toronto. Well worth!
We had Jack and his team cater our wedding and it could not have turned out better!! Our guests absolutely loved the food, and so did we. Working with the east court team was easy, and a joy. They helped make our special day even better. Dont wait! Get some of this delicious food today :)
Order at least once a month from here. Delicious and very consistent. Recommend!
Siao Mei is authentic Cantonese. Take out is suggested, for one full hearty meal.
Bough crispy roast pork, super dry, regular bbq pork also dry was soaking in sauce when I bought it but still dry. The 2 stars are for the duck it was okay, but I am used to tender flavourful Sam Woo bbq duck, this was no comparison. Needless to say it was underwhelming. Not sure if I would give it a second chance because many other reviews are good
I ordered roast half duck via Uber Eat and it was excellent. I love the taste and house soya sauce. I saw some reviewers dont like their plum sauce, but actually as my taste, in east asia, the sauce is tasted like dried plum sauce and it is different from plum sauce in KFC. Strongly recommend this place
This place is an absolute legend in Scarborough. Its no fuzz, no muzz type of place. Their duck, roast pork and bbq pork are all delicious!
Great food, good prices!
Great food unbeatable price plus quick and friendly service - wed be regulars if only we lived closer!
Tried their roast pork and it was terrible. Fatty and not in a good way. Cheap tasting meat, not fresh. Parking here is also horrible as there are limited spots, the lot is oddly and poorly designed, and it is shared among many stores. Not sure how this place is getting 4 or 5 star reviews. This is coming from someone who knows what quality Chinese BBQ tastes like. Trust me, it is not here.
This is the same HK style BBQ restaurant that was featured on Eater and BlogTO a few years ago. Both the head chef and new chef featured in the video are preparing the dishes and its recommended to get the roast pork and cha siu if one is new to this kind of dish. They also do special orders in advance for events or parties. Overall worth going although they were sold out of Arizona iced tea that day. Parking: Best to get the food at the restaurant and eat in the car because theres no seating at the restaurant.
I will continue to come back here over and over for their delicious roast pork. Takeout & delivery only.
Affordable and delicious roast meats, served over rice and stir fried vegetables. Perfect for a good lunch. Highly recommend the char siu and roast pork. Generous portions and great value. They douse everything with ginger scallion oil and the roasting juices. Love the interior, you can tell the owner loves what he does.
Ordered take out and the meat was pretty dry, cold, and didn t taste fresh. Noodles were also really mushy and there was a lot of water at the bottom of the container. Probably won t come back :(
Not sure why we gave this place a 2nd try. We were really hungry and the restaurant we came to the plaza for was not open. We had a lunch combo with duck and cha siu. Other than generous amount of pieces...the duck was boney and the cha siu pork was mostly fat and not very fresh tasting. I dont even think the rice was washed to be honest. Ended up eating half and lost appetite after. Restaurant Cleanliness would be a 0.
Some of the most delicious Cantonese bbq takeaway in the city. Mike is a master at his craft - especially love the three meat combo, with spring onion garnish, on rice, and a small side of tofu - never has gone wrong, never will!
This place is totally overrated. I decided to drop by to see what the fuss was all about based on a write-up from that pretentious hippie website called blogTO and my first impression was the place was filthy and run down. I saw 2 party trays of roast pork sitting by the window labeled for customer 6pm pickup that was not fully covered and had flies circling around it (and I went there on a 2pm Saturday, why leave it out so early for the meat to rot?). Surely this cannot be sanitary nor safe for customers in a warm humid day? So the first immediate impressions was negative, and then I ordered a roast pork and duck combo and....well for $10.75 it was pricey compared to their competition, and when I opened the container my piece of duck was all bone and no meat, and then the roast pork was very dry and the skin not crispy - like it was picked from a pile of leftovers (even though there was a fresh pig hanging from the window and they could have cut from there...what were you saving that pig for? your dinner?) It was disgusting and a rip off. I was so disappointed that I went to Lung Tung BBQ, which is a nearby BBQ place in the Midland Court Plaza, and had a nice piece of roast pork and duck from there for $10 that comes with soup. I would avoid this place as there are better options nearby. I would ask Mike the owner, do you care about your customers or just publicity? Eventually people will realize what a fraud this place is and go elsewhere.
The food is decent but the issue is that the owner is a bit dishonest with weighing. The first time it happened, I thought it was me overthinking things. But the second time, I paid special attention to the scale and again I was overcharged by a few bucks. If you decide to go there, just get items that are not weighed (chicken and duck...) or pay attention to the scale.
I eat Chinese BBQ from many different place so I know what is good quality. I gave it a try for this place to order roast pork. They first cut out very big portion so I told them I want less because it is for one person. After I came home I found the roast pork look terrible. They cut every piece unevenly, mostly are very big. It just look messy and cheap presentation. The taste is very bad, this is one of the worse roast pork I ever had in Toronto. For the price I paid for this roast pork, I can get better quality from elsewhere with lower price.
This is our go to for BBQs in Toronto. The BBQ pork is legit and the master knows his stuff. The cut, the way how the pork is prepared makes the meat special. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
It s a hole in the wall. Best Chinese bbq I ve ever had, and the best one in Scarborough easily. The owner puts a lot of hard work into his craft, and he s also seen on YouTube, where he was documented about his experience. My go to is the crispy pork and bbq pork on rice. It s about $12 cash in total. It s cash only. It s only take out as well, there s no spaces to eat, but I usually just enjoy it in my car. Parking: I ve never had any issues finding parking. The area get busy at times (peak hours), but not to the point there is no parking at all.
After watching Eater s episode of this restaurant, I knew I had to try it out. I live in Ottawa and there isn t much selection when it comes to authentic Chinese BBQ. I was greeted by the owner and a female colleague (I assume is his wife) and chatted them up and told them how excited I was to try their food. I ordered the roast pork and BBQ duck, and the owner was generous to throw in some Char Siu as well. Needless to say, the food was exceptional! All of the meats were juicy, succulent and tender. If I lived in Toronto, I d be visiting this restaurant on a weekly basis. Food and customer service were amazing, and I look forward to coming here in the future.
Quite right Not expensive
Take-out & cash only. Great meals. Fair priced. Highly recommended
Authentic Chinese BBQ, filling and tasty.
Great food! I ordered a custom order and it was delicious! I go when I m in town, and sometimes I just go there for food for me and my family. Great prices too! I live 44 km away! It s worth the drive when I have time. One of Toronto s hidden gems!
This is an old school Chinese barbecue spot. The roast pork is among the best I ve had - super crispy skin and the duck is very good. I haven t tried the char siu so I can t comment. But have been there half a dozen times and continue to go. Jack is friendly and generous with the food.
I ordered the crispy bbq pork with rice and there was 5 pieces of long hair in my food. This will be my last time coming here. City of Toronto food safety inspectors have been notified too.
This is my favourite place for Chinese BBQ. Ive had the roast pork, BBQ pork and roast duck and they were all excellent. Ive ordered from many places, but this has been my favorite. My favorite is the roast duck!
everything was great, Ill definitely be back once Im in the area.
Was one of my go to places. But service is getting worse and portion is getting smaller. Today I ordered and paid for extra portion but there was no extra when I opened tha package. Thanks for ruining my christmas lunch with kids. I fed them all and eating instant noodle right now. Communication issue is understandable and I respect the way they work. But today is lil bit over the line.
I ordered around 1.5lbs roast pork as well as half a roast duck in the morning. In total it costed around 31 cad. The staff was very friendly. The roast pork skin was very crispy, it retains its crispiness even after a few hours sitting in the take out box. It was not overly salty at all and the meat was very well marinated. The roast duck however was not as good as the pork. The skin wasnt crispy at all, it was actually soft, and I felt like it wasnt roasted enough or the duck was not roasted on the day leading to soft skin. However, the meat was marinated very well, not too salty, and the duck wasnt very fatty. Overall, I think the roast pork here is the highlight.
We got the lechon for christmas eve and the neiled it. We have the same aroma way back in the philippines with lemon grass , garlic ,salt and pepper !! Not to mention the customer service and the price !!5 out of 5/stars !! Will definitely buy again !!
These guys know what they are doing
Asked for 2 pounds but got almost 3! Not fresh and too many bones.
Just for takeout but the food is great and portion is generous. Definitely a great place if you want something quick and super filling!
Best bbq pork Ive ever had... No kidding... Mike you made my day and have a new customer for life!
One of the best spots in GTA for Chinese bbq. Incredibly friendly staff. Huge portion size for the rice dishes for the price. The crispy pork was my favourite with the perfect skin.
Best pork in the city
Jack makes the best roast duck and the prices are extremely reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite spots to get great BBQ
My favorite all around bbq place. The rice combos are huge and delicious. They all come with cabbage and green onion oil. Meat cuts a la cart - Roasted pork and the duck are my favorites. Crunchy with a umami salty salty after taste with every bite. Tofu and bbq pork are ok. I haven t tried their SS pork.
They sold me a whole chicken that was congealed. It was actually bought for my elderly parents who told me. This couldve ended badly. Avoid this place.
Some of the best siu yok and bbq pork Ive ever had in canada. Id say that the portions are generous and my gf goes on about how crunchy and tasty the siu yok is. Found this place on a random youtube food blog and definitely will be back!
Our go-to for Chinese BBQ. Roast pork always yummy!
make sure to come in the morning between 10-12, when the roast pork is freshly cooked for the day. its another level compared to when it sits for half the day in the warmer.
first time i try this. i see good review and come to buy. bbq pork and chicken are delicious
I bought 2 ribs of BBQ pork which was about 2 lbs. However, I found that there were several chunks of BBQ pork which were not from the belly portion and they were hard and dry. That was my first and last visit from this guy who is sneaky and not ethical . . .
Having read great reviews of this Scarborough institution, I was looking forward to a pleasant encounter. The parking here is a little tight but be patient and you will find one. Went in for lunch (1:15pm) and saw a small bar stool setup for in restaurant dining which is a big plus. Mike was busy in the back prepping the afternoon/ evening cook and was served by the assistant. I ordered my usual goto of BBQ Pork and duck and was provided for just under $10.00. There was no complimentary soup but that is unimportant as its the BBQ I am there for. I opened the box to find a very fatty BBQ pork and leftover pieces of duck (neck and butt) combined to fill the box. I gave the benefit of the doubt and gave it a try and gave up after a few bites. I maybe a little biased after frequenting my regular York Region shops....
Sweet and sour pork is so tasty! The BBQ duck with rice is
Amazing Chinese food, good price. Highly recommend. I will definitely go back for more. Bring the cash though, as it is cash only.
So good! Delicious roast pork, roast duck, and BBQ pork. Highly recommended. Jack is the best
While the owner is super friendly and nice, the duck was less than impressive, even though it was fresh from the oven. There wasnt a whole lot of meat on it and it was rather dry. I prefer BBQ duck from Mr. Congee in Richmond Hill.
Nice little place for Cantonese style BBQ items. I order a combination box of char Siu-bbq pork n the roast BB pork rice. The roast BBQ pork was good even though was cold since I come in late afternoon around three pm. The char Siu is just ok .a little bit thick n not tender enough. They try to nice n give you lot of ginger onion sauce on top of the rice buy honestly speaking I rather they put the sauce in small round container n let customers do it themselves.becsuse with the sauce I had difficult to really taste the original taste of BBQ pork n char Siu whick I came specially to try. Well at least there is table top counter for customer to eat there which is good. But since there is no air condition inside is kind of warm sit inside during summer but will be nice n warm for winter sit in but anyway most of their customers come for take out. Price are normal .mine with text is $10.5o something a huge box full of rice n meat. However they did not come with daily soup or a cold drink as all other BBQ place offer for done in so is up to you to chose n decide
I respect this man so much. Last of a dying breed. Keep up the good work sir your food has become a staple in Scarborough and we will continue to support you
Ive been here twice now and cant see why they have so many excellent reviews. I got the chicken and duck leg on rice and was not too impressed. Duck was slightly warm and tasted ok, not terribly exciting. The chicken was dry and cold and to me, had a bit of funk to it. Overall the meat didnt taste fresh and hot. But the price was cheap compared to downtown.
The food is unbelievably delicious. Great portions and wonderful service. The prices are great. A bank nearby too to withdraw cash if needed.
i use to come here more often, but after his youtube eater video, he became too popluar and he upsells me and rounds up in my requested weight. Use to get half a pound of Roasted pork (Siu yuk) for a snack, now he only sells me a pound minimum (one bone) . It is still super crispy and tasty, Still respeck him since he works so hard but there are 3 other decent BBQ palce within a 2 minutes drive that will sell me half a pound.
Wonderful food. Chef tossed together a pan-fried noodle dish at my request. I drove here from Detroit to enjoy the bbq pork. Surprised and satisfied that he threw together a pan-fried noodle dish at a moments notice. Fine food, master of his craft. Nothing else like it. Eat here and enjoy the taste. Everyone here is so friendly too. Thank you chef, my 2 daughters loved it. I will come back.
The crispy pork is absolutely amazing.
Ordered the lunch combo of roast pork, bbq pork and roast chicken. Total was $12 including tax. The pork always slaps while the roast chicken is predictably dry. Go for the bbq chicken instead.
Food truly excellent. Fabulous value for price IMO. Service nothing to write home about, but thats not what youre here for anyway.
Made with love
Establishments like this are what make Scarborough a delightful, home-grown, Mom + Pop shop foodie destination ignore the haters. Crispy skin pork was FIRE and the family that owns this place work tirelessly to offer their guests delicious food. Will always be back! Thank you.
Not very big store and take out only. Authentic Chinese style bbq pork, duck. Not bad. Also offering catering.
Great Chinese bbq meat at affordable prices. The crispy roast pork is the best I ve had in Toronto. The bbq pork duck and chicken are all very good too. Good flavour and still juicy.
Decent food at a good price but long line up
BBQ pork was very dry. Roasted pork had a very weird odour. Very bad. Supermarket meats are better.
I had a delicious 2 meat combo with roasted pork and BBQ duck. It came with a side of stir-fried cabbage. So filling and best quality Ive ever tasted. Perfect temperature and meat is juicy with crispy skin.
The boss is a Hong Kong native originally from Guangzhou and is very friendly. The craftsmanship and materials are very good. Every time, in addition to roast duck, I also buy duck chin and tofu, which are my family s favorite dishes.
TL/DR: Good food, horrifically bad food safety handling you ll probably get food poisoning. Crispy pork is pretty good and price is decent. The pork is cold already but that s expected as I came just before closing, although they could have heated the racks. My biggest concern with this place is the guy was touching other things like the dirty table and then touching my food directly. When I called him out on it, I don t know if there was a language barrier or he just really didn t care as he just brushed off my concern. Granted many pork places are like this but please exercise good food handling practices. Edit: My initial rating for this place is 4/5 stars. However, after going here a second time, I am downgrading my rating to 2/5 stars. The reason for this is because the guy (probably the owner) has shown zero concern for proper food handling process. When I bought my food from him, he didn t wash his hands after helping the previous customer. He proceeded to touch my food with his bare hands to chop and prepare it. My food was also touching the sides of the dirty table as he was chopping it. When he finished chopping my food, he touched the register with his bare hands, inputting the amount in the till, then touched my food again to wrap it up. He then took my cash with hands still greasy and gave me my pork-greased change back. I don t know how it is in countries outside of Canada, but Canada has food safety handling standards and this isn t it. I literally had to fry my food at home to avoid food poisoning. I still give 2 star as the food is not bad. Please practice even the most basic food safety handling.
Great price, delicious, and lots of options! The crispy skin on the crispy BBQ pork was my favourite.
Delicious bbq, always fresh and made with love. Jack always has a smile on his face and makes you feel like youre walking in to your home. You cant pay for excellent customer service. A forever favourite.
Amazing chinese and Philippino style bbq. Huge portions and very well priced. Great for large parties as well. Definitely worth the drive if youre not from Scarborough. The best bbq ive had in toronto
Super disappointed. It was not worth the price. There was hardly any meat at all, it was mostly bones and skin. It came out to be around be $20 per pound. Only gave it one star because it tasted good, and the system doesnt allow for zero stars.
Some of the best chinese BBQ in town. Try the crispy pork.
Cash only place with the best bbq & crispy pork in the city.
Quick service and tasty!
Im sure the food is amazing if you reheat it at home, but it is all served at a tepid temperature. Why is it cold?
The best duck. I always go here for my bbq.
Food are delicious and the owners very nice.. the husband and wife are very helpful..
Really good Chinese BBQ and lots of food for the $$ plus lots of combos to choose from
Great Chinese bbq serving up roast pig, bbq pork, roast duck, chicken at a great price. Owner is super friendly and humble. One of the last places you can grab a fulfilling lunch or dinner around $10 in toronto still. They have fried menu as well and sweet&sour pork. Be warn, they bbq the meats early in the morning and it s hung at room temperature. If you want it hot or warm, heat it in your fancy air fryer or oven at home. Pig skin is crispy but duck and chicken skin should not be. The baby roast pig below needs a week notice for preorder and worth every penny. Come and support local small business post Covid. Cash only so come prepared.
Absolutely delicious bbq. My favourites are usually the 4 choice of meats with rice and their bbq pork. Extra crispy skin! One of the best things about this place is their meats are BBQed fresh daily. Since I usually order early in the morning, this is important to me.
It was our first time buying Chinese BBQ from here. The roasted pork & duck were very tasty. The roasted duck was very fresh and juicy. The skin was very crispy too. The marinated bean curd was ok. The owner was very friendly. Our overall experience was good!
BBQ pork here is one of the best!!!
First time ordering from there and they made a mistake on the order. Food decent but not drink or soup like other food courts. Do not recommend and I wont be going there anymore.
Very yummy! I recommend everything on the menu.
Learned about this on YouTube (Eater) few months ago. After watching the video, I fired up my car head to this location and from then, this is now my go to restaurant. I go and get lunch every weekend. Awesome service, cheap and best tasting foods.
Some.of the best food and best prices in the area ! BBQ pork is fantastic
Went to try the BBQ after seeing in youtube. Cant complain at all.. excellent food choice. Tried their 4 item meal... very tasty. Keep up the great work.
This IS the place for bbq pork, roast pork and duck. The owner Jack Tsoi, has been serving up high quality meats, perfectly roasted, for more than 30 years! We used to visit his older location at Sheppard Avenue East and Glen Watford Drive, before he moved to 4400 Sheppard Avenue East. The hard work and pride that goes into these specialty meats shows the meats are succulent, salty and perfectly crispy. The skin on the roast pork and duck is absolutely addictive! I normally order lunch boxes, but decided to splurge and get a pound each of bbq pork, roast pork and half a duck. I like to chop it myself at home, and the meats were nicely wrapped. The leftovers are excellent for making fried rice, or adding to homemade noodle soup! Roasted whole pigs/lechón are very popular, and an excellent choice for ceremonies and parties; ranging in size from baby (25-35 lbs) to medium (40-90 lbs). They also serve Filipino dishes, and Sweet & Sour Pork, which is one of my childhood favorite dishes. I don t know why I haven t tried their version yet?! What is interesting and amazing to note is how friendly the staff are. Each time I have called or visited, the interactions have been professional, courteous and appreciative. Chef Jack is always pleasant, and he is never in a rush to chat. He refers to me as his old customer, so this is the only time I don t mind being called old lol So many reasons to support local owned businesses, like this one!
The best BBQ for Filipino and Chinese; must bring cash because they don t accept debit nor credit; good food; you can also purchase party trays; there crispy can come into two variants, the Chinese crispy skin and the Filipino style with litson crispy skin; they have ducks; sweet and sour; crispy calamari; visit their store for other menus
Very very good BBQ pork. Must get if in the area.
The place never disappoints. Always great food and pretty affordable.
Great food and super friendly owner
Woow. Literally saw them on YouTube yesterday, Ive been to alot of similar BBQ spots but this one is by far the best. Great quality great service, hot and fresh food that is absolutely worth every dollar, a must try for real
The BBQ duck with rice and vegetables is so delicious
Visited the place from all the hype and got the BBQ pork and chicken. Unfortunately, the BBQ pork was not edible at all. The pieces were full of fat and was so chewy. Threw away most of the pork. The chicken was your typical Siu lap place and did not have anything special in particular. Thought it was just a bad day but this was the same thing on my second visit. Will take a hard pass on this as there are many better options in the area.
A below average taste Bbq and the price a little higher. There are places that cost $6 for a one-item rice combo. Worst, they dont come with soup.
Great food and reasonably priced
Fantastic tasting food, great prices, and great customer service, a nice family-owned business
Nothing to NOT LIKE here. Great price and food is great. Will visit regularly whenever Im in the area.
Sooooooo... the reviews are legit! This place is phenomenal for BBQ pork, duck and chicken! The owner is a humble gentleman that has really mastered the artform of Chinese BBQ. The meal prices are very reasonable for the portion of food you receive! This is a no nonsense sort of place that only takes cash. You sort of know what you want before you get it and then grab it and go. There is no room to sit and there is plenty of room to park! Definitely try this out!
Mediocre experience at this bbq house. Got take out in the late morning. The meats were very salty and didn t taste so fresh. I heard amazing things about this place but was disappointed by my experience. I would rather have gone to my usual bbq places in FMP. Quantity and flavours plus quality is much better at the 2 bbq kiosks in the FMP food court.
Best price and place for Chinese BBQ
Was eating in my car and then this happened definitely wont be going back.
Really friendly and great food, you can either have a meal with rice or buy the different meats by the pound. I love using the char siu to make tacos.
After reading the good reviews to this place, I went in to try their BBQ Duck with Noodles and BBQ Pork with Rice on a Friday for lunch. The total cost was almost $18 and it was a plain Meh! The duck looked like it was over a day old. The skin was soggy and the meat was bland and tough. The meat was not savory or juicy at all, it tasted like it was boiled in soup to keep some kind of dryness out, and then rehung for sale. I bet thats what they did to keep it looking not too dry. The watered down BBQ sauce they had for the typically pour on the noodles and rice, was definitely meh. Also down part was that the BBQ Duck with noodles didnt come with a soup or any drink either. Now the Pork was better in texture, as it didnt taste like it was boiled in soup but the skin was no where near the crunch at other places. I would not recommend this place. Place just does not have the traffic as others to keep their BBQ items going. Leading them to resort to boiling their BBQ items to keep them from drying out. Sad
I went there yesterday and the guy was nice enough to give me extra servings for the bbq pork, he said its good enough for 3 people, but its actually good for 5. The taste is good as well. Very satisfied with this store.
Great place to grab a fast and tasty meal
The chef was very nice. Quality of food was ok but the amount of food was... very little amount of rice and unbelievably few pieces of very thin slices of meat with mostly bones. I understand price of everything went up including the prices at this place but why is the amount of food gone directly inverse with the price?
Best Cantonese bbq Ive had in canada . The chef is an amazing guy !
Small spot but staffed by the friendliest people. I wish this wasnt an hour away because if it was any closer Id be there very often. I had the two meat special (duck and chicken) with rice and veggies. Didnt like like a lot of food but I was stuffed by the time I was done. The best part was that this was under $10! Where can you get a meal like this for that price. Friendly staff, delicious food, nice portions, and good prices, whats not to love?
So fresh and so cheap! With the 3 meat option for less than $10, you can pick any 3 you like.
Friendly, great taste and value
Great place
Great food and amazing services. The stars here are the roast pork and roast duck. So flavourful and tender! Do note that the flavour profile here is more on the salty and briny side rather than sweet, which i really appreciate. Jack was very sweet and he always asked if you want to top up the vegetable (for free). Super reasonable price for the portion. You can check out the very nice Chinese pastry store next door as well.
A classic for a reason. This BBQ is crispy skin, juicy meat, and a legit OG Toronto success story.
I have been wanting to come here for a long time since I watched the Eater You Tube video during lockdown. First of all, as I was parking, there was a steady stream of folks entering and quickly exiting with their food. Make sure you bring cash because they don t use machines here. I ordered chicken and pork and the other order was the 3 meat lunch (duck, pork and chicken). The portions are HUGE! We both could only deny a third of what was given. The meat was tender and flavourful and the stir fry cabbage that comes as the side dish helps break the saltiness of the green onion toppings. You want portion the green onion on top of the rice and meat and cabbage on your spoon so it won t be so salty to eat. They didn t disappoint. I will come back here when I need my hit of lechon or fried chicken. I took a flyer to order ahead of time. Oh, Jack and the lady whom I assume is his wife, are so friendly and nice. Come in with a smile and leave with a bigger one.
Great HK style bbq
Finally tried this Chinese BBQ amongst all the others in the area. It is slightly pricier than the others but it does not disappoint. The roast pork has really crispy skin and the BBQ pork is super tender. I would also recommend the tofu. Highly recommend
