Located in Scarborough, Toronto, Grandeur Palace is an elegant Chinese Cantonese Restaurant embracing exceptional quality, service and atmosphere. Our mission is to prioritize customer service. Regardless of age, Grandeur Palace is proud to present the best quality of food to our customers. Grandeur Palace offers flexible banquet facilities to accommodate your needs. It features a large video wall, open bar, and many more! With an open space, the banquet atmosphere is no less grand than an experience of a palace. Hence the name: Grandeur Palace.
siu mai: above average. Huge, juicy, tasty. chicken feet and shrimp cheung fun: average/below average. Noodle wasn't fresh fried shrimp dumpling: below average. It was fried well and the shrimp inside was tasty but the wonton wrapper had an off chemical taste. It's been years since I've been here but the service is as bad as before. The ladies at the bar where you pay were unfriendly and stoic. One of the workers pushing a cart to collect dirty dishes knowingly and dangerously rammed a cart into me because she didn't have space to go through and didn't want to wait until I passed.
Grandeur Palace truly lived up to its name as a grand and elegant venue for a wedding celebration. I had the pleasure of hosting my wedding here along with a traditional tea ceremony, and a reception, and it was spectacular. The venue is adorned with stunning chandeliers and bright lighting that sets the perfect stage for any occasion. The staff at Grandeur Palace were attentive and genuinely invested in making our night a success. What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is the exceptional service. Manager Franco goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. His accommodating nature made planning our tea ceremony, wedding ceremony, and reception a breeze. Franco was flexible with our requests, assisting us with everything from tablecloth selections to chair colors and backdrops. He even helped us navigate the audiovisual equipment, ensuring that every detail was just right. Now, let’s talk about the food—an exquisite selection of Chinese cuisine that captures the essence of flavor and tradition. The highlight of the night was the Suckling Pig, perfectly crispy skin and tender meat, that left our guests raving about the dish long after. The price range at Grandeur Palace is very reasonable considering the quality of both the food and the experience. Overall, Grandeur Palace is a venue that combines excellent service with delicious food. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in some fantastic Chinese food. It offers not just a meal, but a memorable experience that you won’t soon forget. Highly recommended!
Had our wedding banquet here! The staff were very professional and accommodating with the set up. Decorations and speakers/sound system came included. They helped us set up the drinks and provided ice for us. Throughout the night we kept getting compliments on the food - very tasty, great portions, came in hot and fresh. Everything ran very smoothly and they gave us plenty of time for games and speeches. I had a fun and stress-free reception!
Held a medium sized wedding banquet here. The main reason I would recommend this venue is that their prices are quite reasonable. The price to quality ratio was really good. When compared to other Chinese banquet venues (which all have roughly the same 12 course menu) that we looked at, this one gave the best value proposition (key differences were alcohol fee, decor fee, AV fee). We had one of the managers, Franco, work with us the entire process. They are able to do various table cloths, napkins, and chair colours. They are able to accomodate a more western or more traditional Chinese aesthetic. There is amble space and the food was really good. Presentation was actually really impressive. Staff service was good throughout. We wished that they had photos of the 12 course menu items on their brochure. Well here it is. Would highly recommend speaking with Franco if you plan to have a large event here. They are quite flexible, reasonable, and try their best to meet your needs. Thanks again, Franco.
For the price they do!!! Even cheaper than eating at home. And all the dishes are very good. We live everything we order. We ordered lobster, duck , rice noodles, honey mustard beef. Of course we will come back for more and more.
Came here on a Sunday morning for dimsum at 11am and thankfully we had a reservation. We didn't have to wait too long and everything came out fresh and hot. They do have happy hour dim sum before 11am excluding holidays. Solid food overall and a decent selection. Would recommend and come back.
I’ve been here few times for their lunch dim sum. Food are great and excellent services!! Staffs are very attentive and always refill our tea and hot water. They have variety of dim sum and price is reasonable. They also have morning dim sum special as well. They recently have fresh made Tofu pudding too, very silky and delicious.
We had a family dinner and ordered off the set dinner menu. The lobster was small but cooked nicely. The service was on point with food coming quickly. The venue was nice for casual and fancier events like weddings. We made reservations so no wait time at all on a Saturday evening. Parking was plentiful a d the access was through the Chartwell Mall. There is a separate BBQ take out as well. Would definitely visit again.
Good place and decent price for brunch, recommend not to go too many peoples once, at less 4 or less, so you dont need to wait that long to be seeted. The food is good, the service is just OK. Update: Just found out recently that, this place charged twenty something dollars TABLECLOTH, I think for cleaning charges. Thats why I changed from four stars to one maybe zero star, also I WOULD NOT recommend anyone (family or friends) to going there. Its bad enough to pay cash, because they DID NOT except any plastic (Debit/Credit) ONLY CASH, that I dont mind, but to pay extra charges, like that I lose my appetite. Like that, why dont they increase the price on the food or something, but when they charged on the stuff that its not worth it, either this person greedy or doesnt know much about doing business. I might be wrong, so sue me , but for sure, Im going to BLACKLISTED this place, and never going back, I DONT care the food is good, gor me, its NOT worth for paying extra for it!!!
Extremely poor and unprofessional service. Bad attitude towards customers. Food
Disappointing experience at this restaurant, primarily due to the poor service and unprofessional attitude of the staff. We went to settle our bill, and out of nowhere, we were told we had to pay in cash for an item we ordered from the menu. There was no prior notice of this policy. To make matters worse, I later discovered that we were charged nearly $23 for tea and a tablecloth change something I ve never encountered at any other restaurant. On top of that, after leaving a tip on the table, I overheard the staff complaining in another language, that the tip was too low. This was extremely unprofessional and left a bad impression. My biggest regret was even leaving a tip at all considering the service we received. Regardless of the food quality, poor service can ruin the entire dining experience. There are much better options with more considerate staff.
The food was delicious, but the waiter was indifferent. Did he not serve me if he couldnt speak Cantonese?
Their BBQ meats at the Food Court is among the best in Scarborough area. They must have changed a new chef because the bbq meats taste super good and priced very decently. The Soy sauce chicken is however a big failure. The chicken meat was tough and this time the rice was also hard like almost not cooked or mixed with plastic rice. They probably used older chickens which is difficult to tenderize. This may be my Go-to place for bbq meat only.
Great place for authentic Chinese food! Great service too! The deals for pekking duck and lobster is amazing! Spacious place! Definitely a cozy spot for dimsum or dinner any day! There is a bit of wait so do get a reservation!
This is my family s #1 choice for Chinese food in The GTA. OMG Peking Duck all day any day without ordering ahead, and it s amazing. #61 Sweet and sour pork. They have GREAT DINNER SPECIALS, crazy good lobster at $19 per pound on now. Peking Duck as an appetizer for $29, thats more than half price . The service is the best , they are friendly from day one. Give it a GO. Oh, did I mention Dim Sum, Everyday until 2pm. In Scarborough. I will see you there. This place puts a smile on Grumpy s face
not bad at all
On the night of November 22nd last week, I ordered the suckling pig and lobster set meal for ten people. The lobster and green lobster showed to you that they were swimming, but the raised lobsters were not fresh and neither green nor fresh. I also complained to the manager at that time.
Overall service is average First, when I first entered, the cashier ignored me and had to wait for someone in uniform to take my seat. Secondly, I have told you that there are 6 adults and 1 child. The person who took the seats brought us behind the table. There were not enough chairs and he did not offer to give them to us. The person at the next table also asked the person at the next table to hear us saying that there was still a chair missing and offered to give us one. Third, I am free to tip how much I want. From the very beginning until I sit down, your service is excellent. When I left, the cashier at the front desk had the nerve to say that the tip was not enough. If I ask for a tip, I will give you as much as I like. What does it have to do with you?
Very average morning tea restaurant. Shrimp dumplings and rice rolls are okay. Ginger juice and milk are made with coagulant and there is very little ginger juice. Porridge is also thickened with starch. The price is not cheap either. So, I don t go often.
So far so good
Ordered lunch special dish with pan fried chicken flat noodle and found only couple pieces of chicken. Immediately complained to the hostess and finally got additional. Beware of food quality! Got charge $2.50 per person for tea.
just like home- super loud but food was good and quick. came here just for the free chicken coupon
Dim sum was alright but it took a really long time for the dishes to come out. There is a promo where dim sum is cheaper if you come before 11:30am.
Terrible service. Reserved 2 big table for 22 people at 6pm, but gave us 1 big table when we arrived and wanted to squeeze 16 people in 1 table and asked us to wait for another smaller table of 6. Waitress was rude and loud to us when she told us that the table can fit 16. We were upset and, then the head waiter told her to shut up and he said he can turn that smaller table to make it fit 10, which is reasonable. End up we didnt get 2 tables until 7:15pm. This was our 2nd time going here and was made to wait more than 1 hours even if we already made the reservation more than 1 week ago. What is the point of making a reservation?. It seems like they like to give away the table to customers that the waiter or waitresses know as we saw another big size table beside our sat down who came in the same time as us, whom might have not made any reservation. When I made the reservation, I asked them to make sure we get our table at 6pm as we have 90 parents and dont want them made us wait like last year when we booked 7pm and didnt get the table until 8:30PM. We could understand since it was during Autumn festival, but this year, there is no special occasion as the lady who made the reservation ensured us, we should get the table on time. Bad management and owner is too greedy and seems like tried to get as much customers in and dont care about reservation made, even if promised. We thought we would give them another chance as the location is convenient for our parents. The head waiter did not charged us the peking duck course per table for delayed our table and the rudeness of the waitress, so we gave them 2 stars or it would be 1 for the size of the set meals which is almost 600 cash per table before tax. Foods didnt taste very appetizing for the prices, lobster has little meat. Chicken and scallop vegetables were better than the rest of other 8 courses. Restaurant is lucky that at least one if the waiter head realized the terrible attitude of the waitress, and compensated us with a free course. We will not come back for another family dinner of 22 people again or recommend this restaurant to friends. we did give them a second.
A very nice family restaurant. The foods are good, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere us comfortable. The service is good too.
The price is not bad,but the taste could be better
Great place for dinner with the family
For my grandparents birthday celebration, we hosted over 50 people at a fantastic restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of amazing.
a great place dimsum, beat all the Canadian brunch store.
If you ask someone what the paper towels looked like when they arrived, can I understand that they are left over by people? Its like teacups coaxing and burying
Ended up waiting longer than what my reservation was set for.
Order two black gold quicksand buns and give me two almond buns. Our whole family doesnt eat almonds. I called and said that the quicksand buns are now almond buns. If you don t have it, why don t you give other products randomly without considering that others can t eat them?
Better than average.
Good place for Chinese dim sum, especially cheaper in morning hours.
Both service and food are good. Been there few times. Like their dishes come out fast from kitchen. Not like some others wait long time for food.
Food was very good and every dish we ordered were flavourful!
Had dinner with the family of 10. We had reservations and food was good. It was my first time here so I cant comment on the dim sum yet. Prices are slightly higher then I expected but overall good.
Ok dim sum place. Avg price, avg food.
poor service, service poor
This was one of our go to spots for dim sum. However, the restaurant has gone downhill significantly over the last year or more. Prices for dim sum dishes have shot up and the quality and portions being served are way down. We used to frequent this establishment because of the taste of the food and the decent prices. A lot of dishes have moved up to a higher tier price so you will be paying more and likely getting less. Be cautious of special items and menus. Servers assured us the price as stated on the promotional menu but we were charged a completely different price and only noticed afterwards. They had a promotion around April 2024 where there was: $1.99 chicken wings $29.80 roasted Peking duck $25.80 Vancouver crab with garlic $28.80 braised goose feet with abalone We went with the crab however, the price on the receipt was nearly double despite the server saying otherwise. Service: typical for a dim sum restaurant. Staff are sometimes trying to offer dishes to tables that are extras or ones that just arent selling. Dinnerware being slammed and slung around is the norm as they clear and prepare the tables around you.
We go mainly for dim sum. Weve been to many restaurants for dim sum, but these folks really know what theyre doing. A bit pricey unless you order before 11am weekdays but high quality food.
Have been here for dimsum & dinner, both times the service and food have been very good. Parking: Parking can be tight on the weekends but weekdays no issues. Wheelchair accessibility: Very good, washrooms have good accessibility
It was my Dad s 80th and they had wanted to have some friends and family gather for lunch at this restaurant. It is a huge restaurant, we were a party of 25, made reservations ahead of time, thank goodness as it was packed. We had 3 tables and each table ordered the food they wanted, well we had ordered so much food that each guests had a baggie each to take home. My suggestion is if you have a party of 25, don t order 25 or more dishes as it s a waste of money. The food was good and as well as the service.
Very good dim sum spot
Good food and good spacing for guests
Definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants we have been to. We came here to take my in-laws family to dinner here. The lobster we ordered was huge and the Peking duck was crispy. I would come back here again.
Happy mother s .
Authentic Cantonese food, the taste is quite good, I really like the bean sprouts, the steak is also very fragrant, and the lobster is also well cooked, fresh and delicious. Its just that the service sometimes cant keep up, maybe its too busy, which is understandable.
Sunday dim sum! I ordered congee, rice dumpling, Chiuchow-style dumplings, deep fired taro, and until July 31 six fried pork ribs which are on sale at $3.99. All were very good. Their service was excellent. My group didnt wait too long to get a table.
Excellent service
Good food most of the time. Came here Sunday morning for dim sum. Opens at 9. Can get really busy at noon and evenings. Sometimes they hold multiple banquet events. Just like the restaurant, parking can be quickly fill up depending on the time of day. No push cart service. Only cross out what dish you want. Theres a place for bubble tea nearby, as well as other shops. Dec 26 2023. Came here early for dim sum. Quiet in the morning, which is good but the place fills up quickly after. Staff was courteous and friendly. Food was hot and fresh. It was too early for the push carts at the time; we ordered on the menu form. The tea was aromatic, shouldve asked them for the tea name. Me and my friend ordered take out after. We had our own bills but decided to consolidate the total. The cashier was nice enough to comply. Basically this place is a 10 out of 10. Couldnt ask for a better place. Staff is friendly. Keep it up. As usual, the parking in the area fills up fast because of the traffic. come early.
have been consistently going for their weekday before 11AM dimsum special. Food is consistent, service is fast and the typical loud fast pace service of a dimsum place. It is still busy during a weekday. recommend the salted egg yolk fried tofu puffs with black sesame from this place
Not sure why it gets bad reviews. But I loved the food. Service and it was very nice inside. I have been to so many chinese restaurants and this one I will go back. Food
18% tips without option is just stealing. Lobster is very dated with no mes insidethe legs. Cheating on the weight of the fish and the fish is not fresh. Water melon soup is tasteless.peking duck was very disappointed.Even mention that we did not eat expensive food. Want to know how much should we send on the food to make the restaurant happy.
Poor service. The hostess assigned a table of 8 to our booking of 11. Runners placed dishes from the space between every guests including kids. Servers ignored requests of refilling teapots. Worth 0% tips. Will not recommend and never go again.
A popular Chinese restaurant in the Scarborough area. It is located in 2301 Brimley Rd #128 in Scarborough, inside the Chartwell Shopping Mall. I was there in several occasions, both brunches and dinners. For dinner, I tried their Combo A meal which has a soup dish (daily soup), 4 dishes (Pan fried prawn and cuttlefish with vegetables, Sweet and sour pork with pineapple, deep fried grouper belly and bean curd with ginger and green onions, house special free range chicken. Plus dessert and Chinese petit.) I found the price to be reasonable $88 plus tax and tips, and the dishes tasty.
Got a bbq pork rice box and soy sauce chicken rice box and it came to $20 all in. Great value, meat were nice and moist quite yummy. What also made me feel good is supporting a business that uses eco friendly box containers. Got too excited to dig in and food was partially eaten already
Offer good special discount dishes. Taste is so so. Service is very bad, even the captain provide bad service.
The service is getting worse and worse. When the waiter saw it and asked to place an order, he wouldnt give up. He asked many times before placing the order. When paying the bill, he didnt ask anything. He just took the bill and said he paid. This kind of service is speechless.
The service is so bad. I can t find the person who placed the order. It s hard to find it. The staff doesn t even come over when they look at you. Oh my god, when will the service quality of this tea house be greatly improved? How old is it? How can we still be in such an old society? The person in the picture, Racheal... has eyes on the top of her head. Just ignore it...
Came here with family for dinner and ordered their preset meal. Several dishes were good and some didn t make the cut. The steamed fish was nice, lobster with maggi sauce was ok. They give you two lobsters but they were small and didn t have enough meat. We were mostly licking the shell to taste the maggi sauce. The soup that came with the preset meal was lacking in flavor. It came in a ceramic lidded steamer and they filled it with the ingredients and so it had no room for the soup. The preset meal came with mango chicken. It was not tasty nor presentable. We usually take leftovers home but this dish was left behind and it was barely touched. We ordered additional dishes to try. The salted egg lobster was amazing. We got a huge (almost 4 pounds) lobster for that and it surprisingly surpassed our expectations. The lobster meat was tender and juicy given the size. I would go back for the salted egg lobster. They were also running a promotion. Each table can select one from a list of 3 items at 50% off. We selected the Peking duck. The guy taking our order kept pushing us to order extra wraps. When the duck came out we knew why it was 1/2 off. It was literally smaller than a bottle of soda pop. Meanwhile the guy who took our order kept pushing us to order extra wraps for the duck. Thank goodness we said no. And when the duck was delivered to our table, he came by and said we had a second order of wraps and insisted the wraps it came with was not enough. He was so wrong. There wasn t enough duck to fill the first set of wraps. Service: it was not good and downright rude, at times. We had to ask for water several times. When asked for hot sauce, they brought a small sauce plate over. I told the waitress that it wasn t enough for the table. She rudely responded with so how many more do you want? . Overall, food was better than service. And don t over order bc the guy who took our order kept saying we were not ordering enough for the table.
They have good promotions/deals that make the price cheaper, the food is not bad but also nothing too special. The highlight of this place is definitely the pricing, as you can get food that is usually very pricey for a decent price. The Peking duck set was pretty good although a bit burnt, and the lobster is also not bad. However the price for other items can be on the pricier side. In the area we were sat at, it was a struggle to get the attention of the servers, as there weren t many of them and they always seemed to be looking elsewhere. The tea comes on a warmer with a tea candle underneath, and ours was not lit when other tables had lit candles. Overall the place is not bad, it is good if you want normally expensive things for a cheap price but it s not super delicious or special
AVOID THIS AT ALL COST!
Don t order their lobster! After ordering one lobster, it turned out to be two heads and two tails. The staff repeatedly emphasized that the portions were the same, so avoid the heavy and go with the light. And asked us what we want to do? The final processing result was 4.5 pounds of lobster, which counted as 4 pounds for us. I know whether the lobster ingredients are new or not.
Adjust the lobster package, mark it hhhhh to avoid thunder
good price, good food
Very affordable morning tea, a basket of snacks only costs six or seven yuan. The standard of dim sum is very good. Although the environment is a bit noisy and the waiters sometimes cant see us, I usually dont expect to enjoy any supreme service in a place where I drink morning tea. This is why they can guarantee efficiency.
no wifi
Whether you come for dimsum or dinner, they have all the classics! Usually always have specials or promos going on
Excellent food. Good service. Very recommendable!
I usually go to dimsum restaurants in Richmond Hill or Markham, but I find that the dimsum spots in Scarborough are more classic. They have a wider menu variety and the prices are much more affordable - which is the case for Grandeur Palace. Located inside Chartwell Shopping Centre, Grandeur Palace is a dimsum restaurant by day and Chinese restaurant by night. Their early bird dimsum special goes from 9am-11am, where all dimsum (S, M, L) are all the same price - $5.20. Can hardly find this kind of price elsewhere. Even after early bird, their dim sum prices are very competitive and most of the items on their menu are M (I find that most other places are L or XL). Once you arrive, you speak to the hostess as normal to receive a number if theres a wait. Theyll call out your number and bring you to your table. I had a weird interaction with the hostess when she called out my number - Im not really sure where the misunderstanding was but the entire experience was just strange. When you sit down at the table, theyll ask you what tea you want (as normal) and bring it to you. They do put the tea in a glass teapot thats heated over a candle, which is nice. I found the tea just average - not very fragrant and kind of watered down (if you can call it that). To order, you write down on the dimsum sheet what you want, then call someone to take your order. The food itself is good and I strongly recommend the octopus tentacles - they were bigger than any other place Ive been. The ha gao (shrimp dumplings) were also very large and good. Beware that they bring a lot of off-menu items around too. We made the mistake of ordering a lot of things from the menu and we also wanted these off-menu items, so we had lots of leftovers afterwards. Overall, I really enjoyed Grandeur Palace and will definitely be coming back, even though parking was a pain.
Food and service both are good.
I booked 2 tables 2 months in advance with deposit to welcome my daughter coming back home. They cancelled my booking the day before the event and said tables will need to go to a bigger group. Thats is not acceptable at all. Its terrible for a restaurant this size to not comply with their obligations :(. Never going back to this place.
Too greasy
The absolute best Chinese food in the GTA. Our server Alice served and recommended the best dishes. Definitely coming back!
Had dine in for BBQ duck and lobster with special price but had to order combo menu to get special price. Combo meals came in not hot statue which seems already pre cooked to served and overall food taste is not so good than other Chinese restaurants. And they asked paying only cash without notice or cash discount . Not worth to spend extra cash for BBQ duck and lobster here !!
I love to go to grandeur palace for takeout to get bbq pork and roast pork!!!!!!! My favourite meal for lunch !!!!!!! Vegetarian options: They have some Chinese vegetables that they give with white rice !!!!!!!
Very bad restaurant: deceptive pricing and poor service False Advertising: Discount dish price listed on the front door not honored; no notice provided. Overcharged for Fish: Fish served was underweight and raw; management refused to refund. Inconsistent Service: Dishes served in random order, disrupting the dining experience.
Great place for Chinese banquet and dimsum!
Recently, I visited @grandeurpalacechinesecuisine and tried some of their Dim Sum (Shrimp Balls, Siumai, Hargow, Chicken Feet, Seep Fried Spices Octopus Tentacles, Steamed Brown Sugar Sponge Cake, Fish Shaped Cold Mango Pudding, Deep Fried Lotus Paste Sesame Balls, Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls, Claypot Rice Meal. Perhaps one of my favorite finds in this restaurant is the Crispy Tofu Cubes Coated with Salty Egg Yolk. The place is big but could get busy so if you want good deals on your dim sum arrive early in the morning!
This restaurant has been around for a long time so youre not going to be wowed by the interior when you come in. It has the look of a typical Chinese restaurant catering to weddings and banquets as evident by the stage and couples arch near the entrance. It is very busy on the weekends and rightly so due to their early bird dim sum specials which was the reason we went. S/M/L dim sum dishes are one price ($5.20 I believe) if you order before 11am. They also currently have half price specials on a few dishes like B.C. Crab, Peking Duck, etc... with a limit of 1 per table, time limit applies for certain dishes. The dim sum was very good when we went and service was also great despite it being really busy. The hostess was working really hard running around trying to get everyone seated and coordinated, she even helped the servers set the tables up. That woman needs a raise lol. Siumai were big and juicy, so tasty. Hargow was huge. Basically every dish has really good portion sizes so you wont be disappointed. Tasty Chrysanthemum tea to top it all off. I highly recommend eating here.
The price was okay $6.90 for (S, M, L) dim sum on mothers day. Not enough servers
Our go to place for dim sum and dinner feasts.
First time here, foods are good and the price is reasonable. Its $5.2/dish (S, M, L) if you place the order before 11am for Mon-Fri (except holiday) You may wanna go a little earlier. There was a line up after 10:30am (even its on Tue.) The lava salty egg bun is great just that the bun is a little too moist. Will come back again.
Inoffensive Cantonese banquet-style restaurant. They had affordable tableside Peking Duck, their beef ho fun ( ) was greasy but not too greasy. I didnt have a problem with the service here, and they have a plethora of desserts at the end of the meal. Food
The foods are average, nothing special. Wouldnt come back again.
Me and my fiancé had breakfast tea here 2-3 time now, the Honey BBQ Pork Bun (Baozi) is very good and the dumpling and different type of tea to choose when eating. It s very relaxing and peaceful . I recommend it! Oh also their Mango Crepes with some kind of wipe cream was very Delicious but also quite interesting to try, the mango was very sweet and not sour.
The food here is great! The prices are alright and average for a restaurant like this, I would recommend this! Definitely would go back!
Good staff service. Food was better than expected
Thank you Franco for designing the menu for me. Manager Franco took me into the private room. As soon as I arrived, I saw two neatly prepared tables and we were seated one after another. The manager is so attentive. He saw that several people would be late, so he arranged the serving time so that the food would be served when everyone arrived. The food is well presented and has a sense of ceremony. I immediately felt that the price was more valuable. Everyone thought the meal tasted delicious Tang Youyan is a surprise, Haoyan is a Cantonese, leaving Youyan to bury the others The suckling pork is very tender and the skin can be kept thin and crispy. There are two flowers/grass on the left on the plate. Compared with other dishes The dish fish looks very good, but the ham is a bit salty and the fish is delicious. It can be cut into thin slices to make a beautiful pig. The lobster plate is very fancy, but one plate is enough with the presentation. There is glutinous rice dumpling dessert, it would be better if there are buried fruits The goose paw is so big, it s like a happy pig, jumbo size d is not as small as size dd, it s meaty, but it s delicious even if it s large or small, it s delicious.
Came here with the family on a weekend and jt was packed. The parking lot is always packed because of all the restaurants in the plaza. We ordered a variety of dishes and it all came really fast. All the food and service were both great. This dim sum place also does deep-fried sugared taro which is a rare find.
The waiters kept asking for extra tips from the guests.
Great dim sum at a very good price!
Dined in on a Tuesday night around 7pm - no line and was seated promptly. There was 5-6 wait staff and they were hustling. All were respectful and nice for chinese restaurant standards. Peking duck was solid - crispy fatty skin with thin crepe like wraps. Garnishes were a little off though? Dont typically see carrot as an accompanying topping. Cantonese chow mein was tasty as well. Portion size for this dish is probably 25-50% larger than the ones in the food court. Spent $100ish for Peking duck (on special), Cantonese chow mein, and salt+pepper pork chop.
First time, and quite possibly last time. Visited for my mothers 61st birthday and ordered two set menus - Combo A and F, with the upgrade for Lettuce Duck Wraps. Food was delivered quickly - rather too quickly, whereby the waitress was stacking dishes on top of another, and in a rather rude manner. Her rationale was that they were short-staffed, but did not appear the case as there was at least one waitress/waiter per table. All items arrived within a 20 minute time window, which felt very rushed. Upon leaving and returning home, while reviewing the menu, we noticed one of the items from Combo A were not provided. We phoned, and they stated the menus vary from in-person vs. take-out, despite us bringing the menu directly home from the restaurant. The staff felt very defensive, and we were looking to clarify as we had spent ~$500 amongst 11 individuals. We also further noted that because two combos were ordered, desserts were simplified to one single order, and soups were simplified to one batch. Food otherwise okay; atmosphere standard across sit-down Chinese restaurants. Nothing to write home about.
Place is a bit dated and unpretentious but overall clean. Food and service is good. The crispy fish dish is awesome and a must order dish.
Vibe - forget it, its like a Zoo or marketplace that is VERY VERY noisy. So you just go to eat, and leave .
Quality of food and service are both deteriorating when compared with years ago.
Upscale decor, food was Ok, not outstanding. We paid $125 including tips for 2 adults and 2 children.
Dim sum is pretty okay. Seating is on the crampy side.
This restaurant has a take out stall situated in the mall outside the restaurant and the $12.50 (tax included) two sides on rice with a bottle of water is amazing. I always order the BBQ duck and BBQ pork which has never disappointed me. Very generous servings which I can never finish so I can always have leftovers for dinner. Service is hit or miss because I have received both great services along with somewhat rude services....depends on the persons mood, I guess.
Very bad service. People work there not very organized
Excellent foods and service!
had a great time at Grandeur Palace Vegetarian options: excellent Parking: easy to find
Service was swift and polite. The dim sum was excellent, they didn t stint on the flavourful fillings, their wrappers were light, and the fried dumplings were crispy not greasy. Noisy environment with a lot of hustle which is what it is for dim sum.
Awful, poorly run. 6:30 reservation finally seated at 8:10. Zero crowd management, everyone pushed everyone else. Dish carts everywhere. Staff were yelling at the top of their lungs. Food was... ok but some dishes were missing garnishes and others were sloppily plated. Its a set menu but dishes still came out slowly and ended up at the wrong tables. We sent back a duplicate fish dish. Granted, this was during Chinese New Year but... youre a Chinese restaurant. This holiday is THE holiday. Dont do it if you cant do it. As an attendee of many CNY dinners, this truly has been my worst restaurant CNY experience in my lifetime. Never returning.
Need to add this review today so that everyone who buys takeout orders from this place needs to know. We orderd a takeout order a day ago and it was a big order for $230, the pickup time was 6 pm and we wre there at 6 pm and the time we picked up the order was 7 pm. It was ridiculous! Well it was Chinese New Year day yet still the pickup orders were not that many. It was obvious that they missed the order that wss placed a day ago and they just started on them at 6 pm but they did not tell us and let us wait. Our party of 10 people+ had to wait for an hour for the food. Just the worse takeout experience that I ever had!
This was my go to place with my family for the past 3 years. We typically tip 10-15% but the last time we went we accidently short tipped and the manager (female) came behind and tapped me on the shoulder while I was heading to the washroom and said you guys didnt leave enough tip. If anything we were short $2 tip than usual but why would you do that to your customers. We were thrown out by that and never came back. Food is pretty decent and wait time is not long which is why we went for so many years but that fact that you have to chase us down for $2 tip is crazy.
Was there for CNY set meal and food tasted great, not too salty, and severs were friendly. If only they could reduce the use of MSG itd even better!
Had dim sum, it was good but I didnt appreciate that they add a tip to your bill. Because of that, I probably wont return. *I stand corrected on the added tip, I had this restaurant confused with Golden Palace. Thats where they add the tip to the bill. Food
Very busy especially on weekends and holidays
Very busy on weekends especially during the dimsum time slot. In terms of price its cheaper then elsewhere around this area Food
Havent visited for a long time. Today I met a female entrepreneur who I shouldnt have crossed paths with. I came here to take out her food. She came over and took the opportunity to vent her dissatisfaction with another customer. Im not here to buy your bad face and be fooled.
We arrived at night and the business ended at 10:30. They said the kitchen was closed.
Very delicious and will always help.
There was not a single empty table in the store, and the menus were all modified with high prices. I feel like there is a problem with unclear positioning. What is the misunderstanding that makes the food in this store so expensive
Small but good pit stop and an interesting atore with many Japanese products (household)
First time to have dinner there. The sweet sour pork was good. But the beef back rib was better. Many Chinese restaurants dont have this dish.
I came for the first time a week ago for some Dim Sum with my grandparents, and it was very popular from what I could tell, even on weekdays. I had to wait a while to get a table but eventually was able to enter. The food was pretty good and the area is will designed. The path to the washrooms is a bit troublesome due to all the workers taking the same path to the kitchen. I loved the Fried Durian Pastry thing and even got a coupon for Soy Sauce Chicken. Its a bit packed but I would reccomend going here.
Good food
Very nice place very grand looking and a huge restaurant, service was good, but the food was mediocre, the roast pork was dry and a day old, they should not be serving old and dried out stuff in a restaurant of this class, the dimsum was just ok, probably will go back for the atmosphere and vibe
Claypot rice is average, no rice burnt. Black rice dumplings are delicious Squid tentacles are delicious There is nothing special about the black gold quicksand bag The fried shrimp balls are delicious and fragrant, served with almond crisps
All staff are very friendly and efficient. Mr. Wong, the manager is very professional, experience and has a good customer service. The chef is good too,the food are so fresh and delicious e.g. the Lobster, fish, crab, shrimps, chicken etc.Highly recommended.
The way the manager and the landlady handled it was absolutely amazing! ! After eating for more than two hours, he told me that the kitchen forgot to place an order and asked us to understand! ! Then they didn t give a discount, they said they understood, they said they wanted to cancel the order and stopped eating, they said the seafood had been killed, and they asked us to understand, why should we understand? You dont give a damn, we just sat there for three hours, feeling angry, sleepy, and embarrassed at the table. Why dont you understand? The landlady sat there and listened to my dissatisfaction the whole time without saying a word. Could it be that she didnt understand that you were wrong? ? ?
Good place for dim sum and Chinese BBQ and foods
Very good Dim Sum.
One of the Best Dim Sum place in Toronto. We Have been here a couple of times and let me tell you it s just awesome. Everything is just so so flavourful. We will keep coming back here. The menu covers a lot of items . We had a feast . We had pork / chicken/ prawns/ beef / flat noodles and etc. Happy Eating!
For breakfast, I ordered one porridge, but ended up ordering 2 porridges, and one of the snacks I ordered was missed!
Parking: Plaza parking Food
For a not too extravagant meal, this place is good. Big banquet hall though little noisy . Food is very good for what one pays. Very crispy Sweet and Sour Pork and excellent Steamed Seabass which I like best.
The snacks are very good and the portions are sufficient. I will go there again with friends.
Consistent dim sum meal every time.
The dim sum is big but not delicious Waste of quota Not recommended
All the dishes we ordered were great tasting, not greasy at all. The red bean desert was the highest quality.
Well prepared dinner dishes, very good service.
Service was very slow and staff were not very attentive. The restaurant was busy but not completely full. There wasnt a wait to get a table. We ordered at 7:01 and got our fifth and last dish, which was a fried rice (it would have been better if the rice came early) at 7:45. Our first dish was cold by the time the rice came. Weve had better experience with dim sum but that was a few months ago. Not sure if things have changed. The food was okay but pricier than our favourite Chinese restaurant. My son liked the Cantonese chow mein which featured crispy noodles. Well try dim sum again but we wont be coming for dinner any time soon.
We did a bit of the take out from this restaurant, and this time we dined in, dim sum. The dimsum was ok and they took a dish off the bill because it was a bit too salty; bitter melon with salted duck egg. $220 for 8 adult dimsum. Teapots are now heated. Tea per person charge is $2.
Quality assurance
Came here for dimsum with 4 adults and 2 children and was about $150. They charge $2.50 for tea, called it cover charge - even for the kids who dont drink tea. The food was okay - standard dim sum. They forgot about our dessert and kept saying it is coming. When the bill came, they stood by our table and demanded a certain amount of tip. The service made us feel uncomfortable, and we will not be returning. FYI - the pork belly is the belly lining, not the cut of pork belly.
Went here for dimsum with some friends around 1pm. Was great, did not have to wait for a table. I found the service very good and food yummy. Lots of staff working. MUCH more then I have seen at other restaurants. Will come again for sure
Fairly good
good dim sum price are getting more then we like but ..
