The Hainanese chicken rice was disappointing—the rice was hard and didn’t taste fresh at all. The Hainanese noodles also didn’t feel authentic. On top of that, the service was terrible. I tried to use a Swingby deal, but the owner said the price would be almost the same if I ordered directly at the restaurant, just 2-3 dollars more expensive. Why wouldn't I use the deal if I can save a bit? The owner’s logic makes no sense. To make things worse, I had stomach issues and felt sick after the meal. Definitely not coming back.
Had dinner here. Portion size isn great. Tried Hainan Chicken rice. The chicken was not my favourite but the rice is so delicious. The beef noodle soup was great.
The beef on stick is great! Big pieces of meat, chicken fried rice I don't recommend, spring roll is good, the chicken on rice the chicken on a dry side
The hainan chicken was really tasty and the best I’ve had. Gotta try the intestine with sour veggies. The egg rolls were amazing. The owner and his wife were very nice and offered us a couple complimentary dishes. All they wanted was to showcase hainan cuisine.
I really enjoyed this place. It's tucked away in Splendid Tower by the south entrance. The place is quiet and clean. Services was fast and friendly. As for the food, it was very good, very flavorful, esp. the Hainanese chicken and the chicken oil rice -- I highly recommend that. We got their dinner combo for two which had half-chicken, veggies and a spicy beef stir fry (in Chinese it says "pointy" peppers, i.e. chili, but it got translated to bell peppers), which came with 2 bowls of rice (white or chicken oil). Prices were very reasonable as well. Wife thought it was a bit on the oily side, but I thought it was okay. I'll be back again for sure!
We ordered the chicken rice, beef brisket rice and both the wonton and dumplings. (You have the option in soup or fried) Food was really good, portions are great and you get 15% for their soft opening! Staff was also very kind and welcoming as well. We will definitely be coming back here again! 😊
Okay experience at the soft opening. You are greeted once you get inside. Clean environment, menu is on the table and I ordered the beef brisket with rice. Meal came out in a reasonable time. The dish comes with a bowl of soup. Not a huge fan of the beef but could just be that I'm not use to this style of flavours. Would come back and try the chicken next time as that's what they're known for. It is cash only at the moment and you get 15% off. It was only around $10. For the price, it is decent given how expensive dining out has become the last few years.
Was craving some authentic Chinese food and decided to drop by Hainan Noodles located at 4675 Steeles. I ordered the Braised Brisket, Braised Pork and Hainan Chicken Rice. The Hainan Chicken was juicy and delicious while both the Braised Brisket and Pork were very tender and succulent! Not to mention, the owner and staff were nice and accommodating! If you’re looking for some delicious Hainan dishes, look no further and try out this hidden gem! Make sure to bring cash as they also have a 15% off cash promotion!
Great, authentic Hainan cuisine. Friendly staff. Clean environment. Reasonable price. My family loves this restaurant !
Good portions, especially when you order the large.
Its really unpalatable. The kebabs are very dry and smelly.
It s very different from the picture. Hainanese chicken rice only contains chicken breasts and a few pieces of chicken wings, and the cuts are hard to eat. The side dishes were cold and the rice was hard. It had obviously been left out for a while.
Food is good. No line up.
There is no update on Google. It is closed on Tuesday. I drove all the way there and was rejected
Unpalatable...the refreshing taro balls tasted like they were undercooked
Although it is not Wenchang chicken, the chicken is very good and worth trying. The noodles are also delicious and the main service is up to par. It deserves praise!
The dishes are quite pricey given the small portions. The chicken is a little tasteless and dry. Service is okay.
The noodle soup is sooooooo good! The rice was delicious too
Baoluo powder thickened powder mixed with rice is delicious! Hainanese noodles are soup noodles! Hainanese chicken rice was average. The powder is great!
Food
i came here after a trip to Pmall, and i just wanna say the food is outstanding. it s seasoned so nicely and tastes authentic, i m so obsessed with the pork belly dish. the servers were so friendly and attentive, im a hundred percent coming back here to try everything else.
I highly recommend this restaurant! Hainan signature noodle and the Qingbuliang desert are two must-try! It s a really authentic flavour and a special choice if you like food hunting. This is definitely a rare species in the Toronto food spectrum. Totally deserved a Michelin!
Chicken has no flavour. The dessert was good.
Delicious food at a very reasonable price! My girlfriend walked by the other day and noticed a restaurant that served Hainanese chicken rice. Knowing that I love the dish, she recommended that we try it. It was surprisingly good indeed. And the price. In this inflation situation, i don t think you can find many places around this price range with such quality food. What a find!
If you haven t eaten yet, please give Hainanese thumbs up first
Excellent menu.. Clear and easy to understand. The food slaps. Amazing hainan chicken Ive had in the area. More peole should come. Looking forward to trying dinner next time.
Unique flavour and amazing food! The owner was so kind and welcoming, and we will definitely come back again and again.
nice service and authentic food.
Ordered two combos and only received one drink. The menu indicates that combos should come with two drinks as shown in the photo. When we asked for clarification from the staff, they were argumentative and informed me that the photo and description of the items in the combo that were outlined in the menu was a mistake. Very dishonest and misleading.
Stopped in here tonight (New Years Eve) on a whim. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and well kept, the food was fantastic! The snow fungus and pear soup ( ) is the best Ive ever had. I will absolutely be back!
Me and my friend didn t know what to eat on a Sunday afternoon but glad to stumble upon this new hidden gem. Will be coming back real soon!
Went here with my boyfriend and we both order hainan chicken and it was delicious. I love how much green onion and ginger they give with the Hainan chicken. Some stores are stingy when it comes to that. Staff are friendly and service was fast. Will definitely be coming back to try the hainan braised pork and pork knuckle rice.
The noodles were decent but needed more flavoring and pieces of meat. Lots of parking outside. Not a lot of people visit this mall compared to the Pacific Mall next door so its kind of dead inside.
Great for lunch
Newly opened restaurant, delicious, will come again! I heard there will be more new dishes!
Excellent customer service, food is absolutely delicious and that s coming from a former chef! A must try
10/10 authentic Hainan cuisine!
Unique Hainan individual rice and noodle meals served at reasonable prices inside Splendid China Mall in north Scarborough. Their Hainan chicken uses free run chickens. Rice was a bit of a letdown as it was broken rice instead of long jasmine rice. It only comes paired with ginger scallion sauce and no soya sauce. I liked their Hainan soup noodles. It uses a smooth textured pho like noodles in plain broth served with sliced pork. Rice dishes come with free radish soup. However, theres some MSG in it. Parking: Plenty of free parking spaces.
Eating high-quality and cheap Hainanese noodles in Toronto, Canada, makes me feel so happy! A bowl of noodles is only $10 Canadian dollars. In this era of soaring prices, this is simply a fantasy! In this Hainanese rice noodle restaurant, you can also eat Hainanese chicken, Hainanese pigs trotter rice, Hainanese Qingbu Liang, etc. which are famous both inside and outside the island. I decided to eat here every time I go to Toronto! You can also try it, maybe you will fall in love with Hainan noodles and Hainan chicken soon. Definitely a gem! The best chicken soup I ve ever had. Highly recommended.
Excellent Hainan Chicken Rice made by actual Hainanese people. Rice is excellent, chicken is also excellent but Ive been spoiled by having boneless chicken at other restaurants so its a minor inconvenience. Their English is pretty limited but you can point at the menu without issue. Staff were super kind. The restaurant was empty but I got take out so it was fine. Portion size is pretty good for price.
