Very authentic Cantonese dish. Wonton shrimp was big and flavourful. Price is reasonable. Place is cleaned. It’s a nice casual place.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Two classic dishes representing Hong Kong, which would you prefer? The wonton noodles featuring giant bites of wontons packed full of shrimp, dace fish balls and tender beef is extremely tempting, swimming in a pool of a ultra clear chicken broth that's soaked up by the thin noodles that bounces in your mouth.
Affordable, simple, and popular place that's serving up lo mein, egg noodles, wonton, beef, etc. Menu prices range between $9-12 for a bowl of noodles whether you want dry noodles or in with the soup. The wife ordered shrimp wonton noodle soup and wow, their wonton are huge, well worth it! I, on the other hand, had their lo mein with beef served with a small bowl of soup. In addition to our noodles we ordered some Chinese steamed broccoli on the side. Portions were perfect and overall great experience.
Their shrimp wonton noodle soup has great taste and great portion for a very affordable price! The shrimp wonton's pretty big and packed, unlike others I've had before. I also tried their veggie plate and it's surprisingly good, I wasn't expecting to like it that much as I'm not really a fan of veggies on the side.
Jim Chai Kee, known for their delicious comfort food, has a simple menu offering Noodle Soups, Lo Mein, or Soup with Toppings. The choice of toppings is pretty much the same, regardless of which base you choose. On this visit, we had the Beef Lo Mein and the Beef and Fishball Lo Mein, both served with soup on the side. We also had the Wonton Noodle Soup and a side of Vegetables with Oyster Sauce. It was a simple, delicious, and inexpensive meal. Comfort food!
Busy HK franchise noodle restaurant. Menu selection isn't too large, but they have the choices you would expect including beef, fish balls, and wontons. Worth a try if you're in the area. Dishes are very affordable. Easy to find parking even though there's lots of restaurants in this plaza. Personally I like 3A Noodle a little more, as they have fried fish skin. They take cash or debit.
Suuuuuper speedy service, clean restaurant (and bathroom! Extra points for this). Had A1, (shrimp wonton, beef and fish balls). Noodles were nice, broth was a bit bland for my liking (nothing a little chili oil couldn't fix, but still - with all the raving reviews and Michelin list mention, my expectations were higher for the broth)... The shrimp wontons were huge, filled with large, whole shrimps. I really enjoyed the quality. Beef was tender, fish balls were unique (more of a ground fish paste) -- but you can be certain that you're eating actual fish, not fish & flour as a filler. This was also very nice. For approx $13.50, portions were just the right amount/ratio of everything.
Came here for a quick dinner. We ordered shrimp wonton with fishball and egg noodle soup and also shrimp wonton with egg noodle lo mein and an order of choy sum. It came pretty fast but, they managed to screw up the order and what we ordered was reversed lol. We told the staff and quickly corrected the order for us. The lo mein has a bit more egg noodles and still has the bowl of wonton soup in the side. Both meals tasted great. The shrimp wontons have large pieces of shrimp not chopped up and tasted yummy with a little red vinegar. Portions are good for price and it was not too busy for sit in or take out orders when we were there (6pm). Staff are friendly and reatuarant is clean. I will be back for a quick bite again soon.
Wonton noodles is such a classic and they make it the best here! The wontons are big and juicy and the soup is really smooth. Love it.
Best wonton Possibly in the world!
Authentic Hong Kong flavor
Very very small menu. Mixture of 3 items. And option for with or without noodle. Veggie side dish. And yet. Amazing flavour. Legit good ingredient. Consistent good taste. You know what you gonna get.
Nothing special. The wontons were good. The broth was ok. Noodles were al dente. I saw they were Michelin rated but I couldnt find them in the guide. Server was friendly and patient with us. Water and tea were served with small paper cups. Place was clean and the prices were cheap.
It was so delicious that I didn t take any photos. The fish balls were the best.
Ordered one Wonton rice noodle and regular Wonton noodle. Rice noodle was overcooked. Not recommended.
As a Cantonese I ll say authentic Wonton and very good value overall. I can do it everyday
Best shrimp wonton ever! Great soup. Others are normal. Lo mein (dry noodles) are salty to me. I have to add a lot of vinegar and soup. Debit or cash only.
I got the Shrimp Wonton soup, it was so refreshing. The staff was so sweet and the prices are so reasonable. Get the egg noodles with the shrimp wonton soup
Best ever wonton noodle soup.
saw this place on IG . Im not a noddle person, but I thought I would try . soon as we walked in we where greeted. food came fast. prices are really cheap. the first taste I couldnt stop eating . it was AMAZING!!!!!!!! I even forgot to take a pic lol Ill be back with friends 100%
Really delicious wonton soup! It literally tastes like my dads when I was growing up. The restaurant is a bit small but still roomy. I got the shrimp wonton (3) and fishball (4) soup. The wontons and fishballs are huge- requiring 2 bites per ball. It was only $12 and a decent sized ball with good broth. They do also offer egg, rice and vermicelli noodles if you want as well as just Lo Mein (noodle dish) if you dont want soup.
amazing value, gotta have the wontons. However the markham location gave me one extra wonton.
Ive been to almost all the branches of the giant wonton noodle houses and this place had the most bland soup base ever. Wontons were good but they were sold out of the other style dumplings (it was approximately 6pm). Packed my food to go to add some hoisin at home.
Solid place for when you crave wonton. Fast, quick, cheap meal where you know the standard is top notch.
Food was delicious! Got the signature noodle with the veggie plate, everything is on my table in under 5 minutes! The whole place is very comfy too.
premium egg noodle soup. a must-go!
Chilli oil very fragrant. Noodle cooked to perfection. Wonton is awful, shrimps not washed well with tones of sand in them. Combination is not very authentic (never seen beef + wonton noodle in my life) Food : 1/5
It s okay. Definitely doesn t rank on my top wonton noodle places in the GTA despite its HK location having a Michelin rec. Noodles are standard but the soup and wontons are no where near as good elsewhere. Soup is a bit flat tasting and the wontons are overcooked. Also there s no beef brisket for those meat lovers in your dining party.
The menu options are rather limited but that doesnt really bother me. The price point isnt too bad compared to other places that serve wonton either. As for the food, I ordered the signature noodle, doesnt blow my mind but it was satisfying, the flavour of the beef was a tad on the bland side but the noodles had a great texture and flavour. The fishballs were great but the wonton itself didnt have the the strong flavour I was quite looking for, moreso on the mellow side. Customer service was great and the atmosphere has nothing to complain about. All in all, if youre in the area I would recommend, but I wouldnt say go out of your way to try this. Cheers!
Amazing place! Can see why it was Michelin recommended!! So simple, yet so elaborate at the same time.
Man Ive been eating at this place (and its other locations) for almost 20 years now. Amazing, quick and tasty food definite visit and try it out!
I dont think itll be wrong for me to say that so far, this is the best wonton noodles I ate. It was fast, incredibly delicious with good service and a fair price with generous portions. What do you want more? I took the wonton noodles with all three kinds of meats. Fish balls, wonton and beef. My favorite were the first two very big and delicious and beautiful texture. The noodles and soup? A star on their own too. P.S. its on the Michelin restaurant list since 2012.
The food was fantastic. The portion was more than fair and the service was great. Wish I had known about them sooner!
Great bowl of noodles. Got the house special with 3 meats. Noodles had good spring, soup base was flavourful and clean, and wonton excellent (if I were to to again probably just get wonton as I didnt love the fish and the beef was just regular beef) Overall good meal/value
Gotta gatekeep this one fr
Terrible service. Turned the lights off at 8 pm
We were disappointed with the food and the service. We would not go back and won t recommend to our friends.
Definitely best noodle restaurant. I visit this location for the wonton from London On.
The snacks are so simple that there is only one dish to choose from, but they are really cheap...
The signature wonton are in giant size and the taste wont let you disappointed. Portion is generous and the price wont break your wallet. They cook the noodles in the traditional way with the noodles on top which covered the wontons below. I took the photos in the opposite way which for wonton sizes demonstration only.
The food was fantastic as the broth was flavourful, shrimp wontons were big and the vegetables were perfect. The price was fair in comparison to similar places. The restaurant itself was very clean and spacious. Service was attentive and we really appreciated the clear, big menu with pictures. It was easy to see and read. We will happily be returning.
Noodles are springy. Wontons are huge and you can see literal whole shrimp pieces in there. They dont have as many options as other franchises. i.e no beef brisket or rice noodle Their beef not pictured here was velvet smooth, would def recommend!
April 2024 Ordered plain won tons to go. Excellent again and not overcooked as I thought. It was only at 10 minutes drive and it seems they undercooked it just a little to account for the drive home. --------- July 3023 Just ordered only won tons (no noodles) the won ton is larger then the one you have in hong kong, but still very tastey. The brooth here i prefer over won ton hut.
Went with family for a late lunch. Quick to take orders, and quick for the food to come out. I hadnt been to this franchise in ages, but the wontons were always my favorite, and they still are fantastic to this day. One of the best places for shrimp wontons. Seems like cash only, but youll get a great meal for a good price. Will hopefully be back soon!
Had the freshest Cantonese noodles and shrimp dumplings at this spot! Generous portions and a unique fish cake that s a rare find. The only downside? A bit too mild for my taste buds. Craving that extra kick of flavor!
Quality wontons, noodles fine and chewy, fast service, reasonable prices and nice decor - this is excellent value for a Wonton Noodle shop.
Shrimp wonton are the best.
The wonton egg noodle soup hit the spot! Ryan and his team were great! Would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for a delicious hot soup.
Coming all the way from Hong Kong to Canada, Jim Chai Kee showcases the simplicity of a noodle shop with fast, efficient service without any frills. The food is solid and if you dont expect super cozy friendly service, you will be quite happy at the whole experience. Not to say they are rude - people have the weirdest expectations of a fast HK style diner in north America it seems. Ive gone and will continue to go back to this staple wonton place. Wontons are big and chock full of seasoned shrimp. The noodles are bouncy and have that perfect bite. The soup is good without too much lye water usage. Solid bowl of wonton noodles. Parking is ok for most part but it does share it with everyone else in the strip mall. If youre coming from the west, come down Midland instead of McNicoll as you cant turn left into the mall from the latter. Bring cash only. They also sell fresh frozen Wontons to take home and make yourself.
Had the wonton lo mein and i liked it; no frills casual sit down noodle place that is reminescent of traditional HK style wonton noodles. I found the noodles, the wonton and the broth a bit too salty for my liking, but the noodles had a great bounce to them. Prices have gone up significantly due to inflation though- previously a bowl was $7 ~4 years ago but now $10!
Delicious soup. Only wish they accepted more forms of payment
Jim Chai Kee Wonton Noodle have been around for ages. The first restaurant opened in Richmond Hill. They eventually expanded into Scarborough. One of their signature dishes is their Shrimp Wontons Noodle Soup. The wontons are huge and loaded with Shrimps. The dish is simply fresh and not too filling. Want to spice it up, add a hint of their chilli oil made in-house. I overheard a customer within ear range stated their husband loves the spiciness of the chilli oil. It must be good. I didn t try it for the fear of the heat level. We were greeted when we came in. The Server gave us napkins, chopsticks, spoons, paper cups and a kettle of tea. When we were done, I went up to the counter and paid in cash only. The disabled parking is to the right of the restaurant. It s a bit of a distance to the front entrance. Please note the front entrance doesn t have an accessible push button door. If you come with someone else then you re okay. The menu is bilingual and straight forward. Printed in both Chinese and English languages. Note one can buy frozen and raw shrimp wontons to go. Parking: It s in a plaza. Wheelchair accessibility: No push and no wave button to automatically open the entrance door.
Its a small menu, but they do one thing and do it well. The wonton soups we had were excellent.
Jim Chai Kee serves up one of the most authentic Wonton Noodle Soups the GTA has to offer. This location is clean, bright and a nice and quiet place to eat. Food is served relatively quickly and service is pretty much drop and go as it usually is at these places. Prices are decent and the noodle soups come in generous portions with lots of noodles although maybe an additional wonton or two would be nice. Would definitely recommend this place on a cold winter day.
Good idea for lunch! Quick service. Huge wonton. Decent price It was my first time trying Jim Chai Kee Wonton Noodle. Ive heard how huge & delicious of their shrimp wontons are for a long time. They met the expectation. The price is decent too! We also grabbed some fresh wontons and fish ball paste to-go. I forget to get their house made chilli sauce though. A friend of mine told me he likes it because of how spicy it is. If you like spicy chilies, I think its a good idea to try
A1 s signature three-piece noodles, the soup is refreshing! Delicious
Fish cake, beef and wonton lo mein (The beef and wonton are very good. I don t like the fish cake. The lo mein is boring. clean. quick
Great tasting as usual. Fast service. Their oval fish cakes have changed to block sizes. Love their thin flat rice noodles. Not keen on the new enviro-friendly packaging though. Best XO sauce Ive tasted!! Always make sure I dont run out of this at home!!
Excellent wonton noodles and beef rice noodles. Well priced!
Food is good, but sadly they re still using styrofoam cups for tea.
Speedy tasty wonton noodles. Get all your ordered food on the table in 5 mins.
Weve been to the other locations in the past. But at this location it was just mediocre at best perhaps it was us we got in just before closing
now THATS a delicious WONTON. No frills. Classic food. Shrimp wonton is my fave
Plain, simple, fast; yet this is exactly what I am looking for
Best shrimp wonton noodles in the GTA. I ve tried a bunch during the lockdown part of pandemic and won t mention their competitors names - but if you want shrimp wonton noodles, look no further! Must bring cash to pay.
Most top notch huuuuge wontons for a modest price in a heartwarming broth, bringing me back to my childhood. Seeing me digging in in the picture shows my appreciation for the wonton noodles
Large chunk of shrimp wrap in wonton flour sheet cooked in chicken flavor soup, nothing fancy just add whatever you want to the shrimp wonton from vegetables to egg noodles or just wonton by itself. This is the 2nd restaurant as far as I know. The 1st one is on Hwy 7 near West Beavers Creeks Rd, I think. Each bowl costs from $10 to $ 12 depending on your choice of added food items with the wonton shrimp. Most people eat at least 2 bowls either during lunchtime to dinner time, every day.
A great wonton soup, for sure! You might think wonton soup is easy to make or a basic dish but youd be wrong. This place combines fantastic broth, great wontons and even the beef is superb! I recommend the beef and wonton egg noodle soup!
service was super quick, soup was delicious will definitely go back again. Food
Highly doubt anyone in Canadas Markham/Richmond Hill area really need a review written by someone in New Jersey, USA about this place, but as a Cantonese living on the East Coast of the USA, coming up to Toronto is basically a cultural pilgrimage. Far exceeding pretty much anything you can find in NYC (and certainly, NJ), Jim Chai Kee in Scarborough was really the only Wonton experience I had outside of Hong Kong that I feel like even comes close. Im not sure Id even rate the Wonton experiences in Hong Kong higher than here for any particular reason. It really is that good. If noodles in hot soup with dumplings is a format you enjoy, it doesnt get more Cantonese and more delicious than this. Great seating that is reminiscent of Hong Kong, springy noodles and crispy shrimp, and the iconic broth made with dried flounder.
I really like this place and come here whenever I can. Food quality has been good and consistent even though they have been around for awhile. The only downside to this place is it only accepts cash. They need to provide other options like debit or credit if they want more business. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
Hong Kong style wonton noodle shop was on my to go list one day. My friend and I stopped there and ordered a couple of dishes. Value was great and food was tasty, love the wonton. Staff was attentive. Will definitely return.
The go to place for wonton soup. Reasonable price. I recommend the signature noodle. Yum
This was exceptional wonton noodles. The noodles were a little chewy and the dumplings were large and generous. Perfect!
Its not bad. I have the wonton noodles.
Good noodle soup. One thing I dont like is they only take cash, dont know why. Also the cashier asked me for tips without any services.
This place is definitely one of the better restaurants for wonton noodles. However, price of one bowl of wanton noodles cost $11+ now, making it not worth the meal. 3A Noodle has a better price.
Place is quite busy, so you most likely will need to wait for a seat. Highly recommend to get anything with their shrimp dumplings in it. Plump and juicy shrimps stuffed in fatty pork meat, wrap in thin and tender skin. The broth is full of umami with a hint of aromatic green onions. The noodles/vermicelli are not necessary unless youre hungry & in a need of carbs :D Staff are very quick and efficient, youll get your meals in a few mins upon ordering. NOTE: Be aware of the chili oil, its very spicy and the burning hot broth intensifies the spiciness. But you ought to put a couple of drops to add flavor.
Fast quick no frills soup . Always hot and good . Quick service and always filling . Plaza is busy , but restaurant always have seating . Also sell the wontons uncooked so you can take home and cook .
Fast and tasty Wonton noodles.
The service is quick & the great food portions especially for under $10. The broth is super flavourful & the wontons are really filling. Definitely the place to go to for affordable and delicious noodles!
I tried this bec one time i was not feeling well and was craving for some noodle soup..i searched google some wonton noodles near me and this came up with almost 5 star review..i tried their egg noodle with beef, something like fish ball and shrimp wonton and since then, ive been buying here for their soup and noodles...i also love the steamed veggies with oyster sauce to partner while i eat my noodles..its very very simple yet delicious food and satisfying...for the price and qualiy and taste i will never get tired buying here...i actually live far and i still go here whenever im off from work to order at least something will last me 2-3 days... no exxageration, should try this if anyone havent and likes wonton noodles :)
Big wonton, fish ball delicious *^O^*
Simple and delicious menu. Shrimp wonton soup the way it should be. Everyone finished their bowls and we bought fresh noodles and shrimp wontons to make at home.
Consistently good wonton noodles. This is a chain known for their large wontons.
The best wonton store in Toronto, no second place, the shrimps are fresh and the price is super high
Solid option for a quick cheap lunch, authentic and filling
Update April 2022: My favourites A5 and C2 are now $9. Add a few drops of the chili oil to add an extra level of flavour! Or even red vinegar! Yummy! Update August 2021: Right now is the time to visit Jim Chai Kee if you want to try their great Chinese shrimp wontons! Higher food prices are coming in 2021 across Canada but as of August 21 prices at this location are still $8 for either A5 or C2. Its well worth it! Tried Jim Chai Kee in early October 2020. Safety protocols were in place and it was tidy and clean inside. Definitely recommend those new to this type of food to try the egg noodle soup (the noodles make the dish more of a meal) with shrimp wontons (the must have item in the bowl) and beef, item A5 $8. If there are two of you, then I suggest that the second person order just shrimp wontons in soup, item C2 $8, and that you combine the bowls for just enough noodles and more shrimp wontons. The choice of fish balls might suit those a little more adventurous as would the super spicy and flavorful chili oil (which I enjoy). Service is efficient and the food comes out quickly. Bring cash or debit. Free parking in the large lot. Enjoy!
Hong Kong style noodle. Fast and quick but only a few selections of noodles.
Great value. I had the signature wonton noodles with wontons, fish balls and beef. Wontons were generously filled and had an excellent texture. The wrapper was thin and not chewy. The fish balls were delicious with a very springy bite. I was expecting the slices of beef to be dry or tough but it was quite the opposite. Very tender and moist. Pricing is very fair and the chilli oil has a good kick. Definitely recommend this place.
Very poor experience, we were forced to pay in cash even though we had no cash on hand and restaurant has no signs showing they are accepting cash only and the waiter did not mention it before order any food! Totally unacceptable
Great soup we had the A5 egg noodles with shrimp woton and beef absolutely fantastic great price and fast friendly service. We deffinently will go back again and again to try more soups .......
This is the first time we came to this location. Not sure if this is the location or only today, the wontons and fish balls are not as good as those at Richmond Hill location. The wonton skin is thicker than usual, and the shrimps are not as good as before. Beef and noodle are still good. Hot chili sauce is excellent, super spicy!
Nice, clean well kept restaurant with fast friendly service to go along with it. The prices are very reasonable and the wonton (Shrimp) & beef egg noodle soup was extremely delicious. Huge wonton compared to other places. Keep up the good work. Parking: No issues, the parking lot is huge
Parking: Great
A decent and comfortable bowl of wonton noodles. They get everything right, and i like their noodle the most among the top stores here: firm, springy with just the right amount of the noodle aroma. It would be better if they place the toppings in the bowl of soup when serving the lo mein so that the noodles wont end up being soaked in the soup. Price is reasonable.
The best won ton noodles in the area
Just tried this place for the first time. The soup is exactly what I was looking for. The wonton are so delicious and fresh. I got shrimp wonton and noodle soup. The broth isnt very flavorful but I personally liked that I could add a little chili or vinegar. The food came out in mere seconds it felt like, super quick. Also, they have very clean private bathrooms. Highly recommend, Ill be back for sure.
The best wonton noodle in town!!!
Food is great, Wontons were big. AC is good at this place.
Bought uncook shrimp dumplings. Quality = 3 / 5 Price = 3.5 / 5
Jim Chai Kee began in Hong Kong, but has been around in the GTA for a long time as well (15+ years). This particular location has been around for 6+ years and I have been here many times. JCK has very simple menu but for what they do, they do very well. Service is quick which makes them an ideal candidate for any meal when youre on a busy schedule. I recommend their classic shrimp wonton + egg noodle.
The fish ball is not like a ball shape. The taste is not that good. I don t like the way to treat the customers.
Nice place. Great service. Portion and price are decent. The A1 is amazing. No clue if method of payment is cash only as I was told today they accept cash only.
chili oil so good, but its very versatile spicy
The best wonton noodles in town!
First time having this type of soup. I usually have pho or ramen. For the price to portion ratio, this is 10/10. My colleagues and I went for lunch and decided to give it a try. I had the beef slices, wonton in soup. I added some hot chili oil on top. Wow this place is amazing, it was quick and great flavor. They only take cash. Luckily one person had cash.
The wontons are super big, the shrimps are smooth and the shrimps are delicious. The dace meat is a square piece, which is about the same size as four fish eggs. It is smooth and the taste is close to Hong Kong style. You can taste the dace bones.
Wont on soup was delicious and came fast. Would visit again.
I went to eat some noodles with my friends. There were not many people. The noodles arrived one minute after I placed my order, and the noodles arrived the next minute. It was so fast. The beef was very red and the noodles were a bit hard. The wontons should have been cooked long ago.
Atmosphere. 7/10 Service. 8/10 Clean cutlery 8/10 Foods. 8/10 Clean Washroom 7/10
For the price + tax & pay in cash, not worth it anymore.
Tried their signature noodles with wonton, beef and fishball - the noodles are fresh and chewy but otherwise pretty mediocre
Nice big juicy wontons. Very tasty.
At most three points, the signature three-piece noodles are full of alkaline flavor and hard, and the taste is not as good as instant noodles. The three kinds of wontons and fish balls were also tasteless. If it wasnt for the rush of time, I wouldnt have chosen this place. A diner next to him asked if he was still the previous boss. He visited this restaurant for dinner in 1997, so it was considered a return visit to his old place. The waiter confirmed that it was still the same boss
Amazing wonton. Super fast service.
The Manu on the glass of the wall. No regular menu. You need to stand next to the wall to see the menu LOL. They asking only cash... I Left right away.
I tried for first time today and simply said THE BEST....a little drive to pick up but worth it
Delicious soups. One if the better won ton places.
I got takeout from here this morning. The portion size of its meals is great and the wontons are large and delicious. Would certainly come order again when I crave for wontons in the future.
Best noodles around. Cant go wrong going with the wonton noodles!!
Best shrimp dumplings ever! Worth the price as its jam packed with shrimp go to place for almost 10yrs now!
Great portions
Definitely worth more than I paid. Great quality!
Good portion for price, the noodle is authentic and service is great. However, the menu is pretty small
Simple menu but definitely traditional wonton noodles
the best wonton in scarborogh.
Amazing shrimp wonton soup. The staff are really nice! Love love love my B2
The wontons were huge with at least 4 fresh shrimp crammed into a delicious package. The fish balls are actually fish paste formed into balls, not the frozen section artificial kind. The beef, however, was unremarkable. Beware of the chili oil, its fragrant and delicious but pretty spicy for a Cantonese noodle shop, just a few drops will hit the spot.
Wonton noodle soup is amazing.. service sucks when you cant speak the language they do
Love the Chongqing with minced pork and peas and the special marinated pork belly.
A definite go-to if youre looking for Wonton noodles. Its clean and quick so you can grab a bite and be out within a short amount of time if you need to
Cantonese comfort food. Great spot for authentic wonton noodle soup. Good value and the wontons are large and flavourful. Flavours are simple but authentic. Bring cash
air not ventilated enough inside, and food looks bad, the way they plate there was no effort at all. taste alright.
A nice little place for noodle. They do not have many items on the menu; they are basically noodle with different add ons like wonton, fish balls, etc. They have two kinds of noodle: noodle in soup and lomien which is noodle with soup on the side. Lomien comes with hoisin sauce which is salty so I normally asked them to put the sauce on the side or on separate plate. Price is cheap. All on all is a nice and cheap place for noodle.
Nice hk style noodles
Ok I though Wonton Chai was great but this place is even better! The Wonton is quite big and tasty! The soup is very good as well! I believe this will be my place to go for Wonton!
Very clean and quick service. Delicious wonton noodles.
Yummy won ton
Traditional. Expect to serve yourself.
Super big, juicy shrimp wontons
Very clean and comfortable restaurant. Wonton beef noodle is very nice. Strongly recommend to try their chilli sauce, it s not only spicy, it also carry a very special flavour, so good. Must try!!
great wonton noodles for a great price.
Simple Canton style wonton soup! Awesomely delicious
Normally great but I just found a black hair crusted into the frozen dumpling for one of them. I will save it and bring it in to show them the next time I am in Scarborough since its not in my area. Gross
The best wontons in the city of Toronto!
Its very unpalatable, even worse than instant noodles. Their special three-piece noodles are an unpalatable shrimp dumpling, a piece of beef, an unknown flour vegetable dumpling, and alkaline noodles soaked in soup with no taste. Its very bad. hateful. The service was very poor, and I deliberately refused to swipe my card. And he deliberately tricked you into paying a tip of 10.2 knives and gave you a pile of 0.80 in change. The WiFi is not available to customers, so customers can use the pizza hut next door.
Very bad taste, worst service.
This is a virgin restaurant, very bad taste, very bad service no anymore.
Amazing noodle place, Id have to say so far one of the best, I would highly recommend anyone to this place as with value and oortion, simple $7 dollars as of Sept 2020 , would get you a filling bowl of freshly made noodles and hugely filled shrimp wontons that is very pleasant with each bite. I would hope this place never change its current ways as this is how wontons should be like.
Good wonton and fish ball. Great noodle.
Came early, not busy. Food was good. They were making the won ton when we went. Fresh. They also sell them cold. Won tons are giant ball size. Would go again.
Noodles is good. And the shrimps is fresh.
Would give 5 stars but they only give you 3 wontons instead of the usual 4 when you get takeout.
Live their shrimp wantons (u will find 2-3 jumbo shrimps in it) and their fish balls! Reasonable price and good healthy food. Clean restaurant! Lots of parking space.
Wanton noodle is far from hong kong style and quality. Shrimp and meat ratio in wanton is out of the right proportion. It shoula be called shrimp ball. Noddle is bad quality, too thick too dry and not soup absorbing style. Soup is too plain, not of wanton noodle style. Price is not justified. The star it earns is quick servce.A
I love this place! Their shrimp wonton with egg noodles is a classic and if you like fish balls Id recommend having this added to your bowl. I also order the vegetable plate (Chow Sum) which comes with oyster sauce. For $3 its a steal! The price is very reasonable and a family owned restaurant... support your local businesses! :) P.S Id recommend taking cash with you.
I like Jim Chai Kee, its simple but delicious. Its not pricey and no lineup most of the time. It may not be the cheapest wonton noodles around town but I like it clean and simple. They have self serve hot water and tea.
If there is one dish you should eat here, it is the shrimp wonton noodle soup. It comes with the egg noodles, or you can swap that out for flat rice noodles or vermicelli. The wontons themselves are the star of the show - each wonton comes with 3-4 shrimp, cooking perfectly so you get crisp bites of meat. Each bowl comes with 4 of these huge amazing wontons. The shop also sells the ingredients raw for you to take home as well.
SO SIMPLE YET DELICIOUS. Super clean and kind staff. Will definitely be back.
