I ordered shrimp fried rice and showed the woman how dark I like it only for them to give me opposite and only put 5 small shrimps filled with rice. I didn’t pay almost $25 for shrimp fried rice with only 5 pieces of small shrimps filled. I also got sweet chilli chicken and asked her if it’ll be sweet and she said yes. No sweetness at all. It didn’t even taste like chicken, it tastes like fats with flour mix…food is disgusting. I feel taken advantage of. It seems like you actually have to eat in the restaurant to get good quality food. The pictures I showed in the review is nothing compared to what I received. I spent $45 here and I’m not really impressed especially given I was hungry and got it as take out so I wasn’t able to even see the food before I left. The audacity for them to ask for a tip for a takeout. I’m happy I didn’t tip because I would have been furious if I tipped and got this disgusting food. I ended up throwing the food out it was just gross. Never will I buy food from this place again. It was my first time and worse. I live across the street and thought I should buy it…but never again I’ll just continue going to sushi boil next door…food is better there and great quality for good value.
We had dinner at the Royal Chinese Restaurant, which reminded me of a local Cantonese-style eatery. The prices were very reasonable. We ordered fried oysters, shrimp rice, clams, and vegetables. The food quality was above average.
A very busy restaurant with a wide selection of Cantonese food. Parking is very limited, you may have to wait a while to get a parking spot. You can smell the "wok hay" as soon as you enter the restaurant. Both of the dishes we ordered (deep fried shrimp and deep fried bitter melon with egg yolks) came piping hot, both are tasty. We saw many people ordering food served in a pot as well as seafood. Will try that next time.
First time coming to this restaurant under good recommendations and was pleasantly surprised This place fills in quickly, even on a weekday, so be sure to come hungry and early. They operate 7 days a week between 3pm and 1 am All the staff is very helpful and welcoming. They completely work as a team and our table service is not designated to any one server. All service was attentive, constant and friendly. One of them even reminded us not to reheat one of the dishes in the microwave as it would ruin it The portion sizes are generous and they don't skimp on the ingredient, especially the meat (I love meat). The meal we ordered came with a savory and delicious free soup (Pears, Figs and Pork) as well as a sweet serving of Red Bean and Sago dessert congee The family meal for 4 for $75 is an awesome choice plus there was more than enough for take out! Definitely try The Royal Chinese Restaurant at the corner of Birchmount and Sheppard Ave!
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, the servers are amazing & super friendly, all original over 15 years. The food is great every time. Lots of choices, I love the crab as you can see with the minced pork on tip delicious with plan white rice. Lot of tables. Don't miss out of this place!
Large food portions, great service and delicious eats. Sizzling beef, garlic pork chops and fried rice were really good. We got the bamboo fried rice with king shrimp. This was big enough to feed 5-6 ppl. We also got beed flat rice noodles, which was good and fried squid - would skip this if you don't have a large gp of people.
You can’t come here without ordering the King Whole Shrimp with Garlic Fried Rice. Literally everyone around us ordered the dish and once I took a bite I understood why this dish is so popular. There was a healthy portion of minced garlic in each bite and the shrimp was really flavorful. One of our favorite dishes is Sweet and Sour Pork and we like to gauge how it stacks compared to other places. I have to say that this place does it right. The pork was cooked where it was crispy well after it was served and the meat was nice and juicy. We also wanted to try something different so we ordered the Fried Oyster with Honey Pepper and I have to say we were all really surprised at how well balanced all the flavors were. We really enjoyed our experience. This place is pretty far from us or we would most likely add it to our rotation.
First time at this restaurant. The decor is as expected for a stir-fry restaurant. Nice mix of small, mid and large-size tables available. The servers were sociable, friendly and efficient. Lots of dishes on the menu and all along the wall to choose from. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. Fabulous place for a delicious meal and they are open 7 days a week!
If you want authentic tasty Chinese food this is your spot! Try the fried fish they fry it fresh ! Must try
I have visited Royal Chinese Restaurant many times, and they consistently deliver excellent quality food. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, which makes the dining experience even better. Despite the simple ambiance, the delicious food and exceptional service keep me coming back. Highly recommended !
Delicious but much more expensive than before.
I ve been running a restaurant for many years, so cheer up.
The owner lady is so rude , food is below average , prices of things are skyrocketing, can t belive
One of our favorites. Open late. Lots of choices. Parking is tight in the plaza. Normally reliable in managing our food allergies. They made an error during our last visit.
If you want the best customer service, best good- go here! Don t look elsewhere.
The garlic shrimp rice is a highlight of this restaurant. I also love their fried rice and steamed fish. Dinner includes complimentary soup and dessert, and the waiters are friendly.
Terrible staff, I seen ants in their noodles. Definitely would never visit again.
Horrible customer service, the staff are very rude. We paid by card and didn t leave tip because we were going to pull out cash and tip in cash. Before I could even pull it out, he says why didn t you give tip? He said it so rudely and disrespectfully and I m never coming here again. When we told them we re never coming here again they said don t come . Horrible staff honestly.
The food was terrible and horrible service!!!! The staff was so rude !!! We also found a dead rat under the table !! And also ants in our food! They also force their customers to tip them!!!! I have reported them to public health!
Love love love everytime i come back since i was a child with my parents
Pretty awesome Cantonese restaurant serving very traditional dishes. Ordered seafood such as lobster, crab, clams and sea bass. All made Cantonese style.
Good old fashioned vibe, great value for seafood, ingredients are fresh and tasty.
You dont go here for the vibe or atmosphere; you go here for great value (cheap but delicious) food. Excellent customer service. They treat you like family and is always happy to see you. The owner recently started hanging around, so think twice before you give the waiters any hard time for anything small. Theyre hard working and kind people and deserve the best.
, Low end food ingredients at medium price. Service was ok to start with but in the end of the meal and after paying, they were rude. Food
Great place to eat
Fantastic food And Beautiful staff
Food is excellent. Seafood is fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant. Golden Yoke Fresh Vancouver Crab is outstanding. Chicken in Hot Pot, Salt and pepper squid is very well done
Good place for late dinner
OG old school Canton style Chinese food. Chef has good wok hay Food : 5/5
good food quality and service, looks like traditional HK style, fried chicken wings with mashed egg yolks is crispy and full of egg yolk; good food quality and service, looks like traditional Hong Kong style, fried chicken wings with mashed egg yolks is crispy and full of egg yolk; Parking: a little bit crowdy, need to watch carefully for in and out; the parking space is a little busy, need to watch carefully for in and out.
Their pot dishes are impeccable, served hot and flavourful. Huge range of selections, great value for money. Open till very late hours, great and quick service. They do take credit cards. Saw a waiter taking pictures, singing birthday song and helping with preparing a birthday cake to another group of diners. Parking: Free parking just right outside the restaurant. Plenty of spaces, but fairly tight for two-way traffic. Kid-friendliness: Although on average staff are in their 60s/70s, they do welcome kids! Wheelchair accessibility: Pretty sure it s wheelchair friendly as it s on ground level and flat surface.
The food became more expensive and the taste is so so. The waitress cannot even hold the dish steady and spilt the sauce on the table. She placed the dish randomly and did not arrange dishes properly. The fish dish served by her was not in the traditional cantonese way and the fish bone was not removed. Would not go there any more.
I was very hungry and wanted to go to their house for dinner. I called to ask if there was a table. They said it would be no problem to come directly if there was a table. However, I went there hungry. There was a line of people outside the door and there was no table at all. It was a waste of my time to drive there.
I have been here several times and the taste has always been very good. The sweet and sour pork, fried rice noodles, and fish-flavored eggplant and tofu pot are all very delicious! Came here to eat at 6pm and the food was served very quickly. Good reviews
The food here is excellent. We go here all the time for dinner. The place is always packed with big groups of people so be prepared for a busy restaurant and a line for a table. Again, the food is excellent, the portions are very big.
Overall food was good. It comes out quite quick after placing the order and prices are fair in these days when cost of living is high. It has that old HK style traditional middle class restaurant sort of feel. But service really depends on the server. Some are nice and friendly, but one of them is quite lazy and got a bit annoyed that he had to walk back into the kitchen twice to get more chopsticks and hot sauce. General reminder that its perfectly fine for tips to be on the pre-tax amount.
Excellent restaurant, highly recommended, personnel works very hard
Very good service waiters don t miss anything Very clean nice restaurant and the food is probably one of the best in Scarborough
Cheap, good quality, delicious.
A shell of its former self. I would one star this place all day long after me and my parents last experience here but I am giving an extra star for what it once was and where it was once located by the railway tracks and now it moved here and I will move myself away from this establishment. The servers are not friendly in general, and if you dont speak Cantonese or Mandarin good luck to you. The lobster we got was not fresh, my parents couldnt chew the vegetables, and the worst thing was the free range chicken Jo Day GUY. Let me tell you that was one terrible GUY, it was cold as ice, stale, no flavor, and had more bones than meat, like it was made ages ago and chef just grabbed it out the refrigerator and gave us some Mo May GUY. GUYS, avoid this place, there are better Chinese/Cantonese restaurants out there.
The food is good . service is very good and staff smiles and welcoming compared to other chinese restaurants
Used to come here often years back, now the food quality and taste is so disappointing that I wont be returning again.
If you are looking for the tastiest calamari, this is the place! I dont live in CA, my GPS took me there around 12 midnight after spending a whole day at Canadas Wonderland! The best calamari I ever had in a while unfortunately, that was the only thing I ordered. Next time, I will try more of their popular dishes.
This place is a hidden gem. Went on a weekend with a group of 13. We had to wait some time to get a table and the place was packed. There was not much space to move around but the food makes up for it. Every item we got was flavourful and the portion was very generous too. The price is very reasonable for the amount you get. Give this place a try.
Cantonese style food. Good wok hei. Good service and recommendations from server. Reasonable prices.
Went to this restaurant today , had a very bad experience with the server who was forcefully asking us to tip him . The way he asked for tips was so rude , he told us that all other tables had tipped him , because of that he wanted us to tip him . He was not even our server and he didn t serve anything at all . Me and my husband always go to this restaurant and this is one of our favourite place too , whenever we go there we used to tip the staff. The owners and other staff s all are so friendly which we know because we always visit this restaurant. But this specific guy, I don t know I never met him before in this restaurant , not sure of his name, a bald headed tall guy who always take only the bills and never do his job well and asking the guest for tips - is not fair enough. It s the customers choice whether we have to give tip or not . He cannot forcefully ask anyone to tip him . I hopes the management take this in to your attention and teach the guy how to behave in-front of good customers .
Best authentic Cantonese food! Absolutely amazing service and the best food literally. Of you go to congee queen or another place forget it come here instead! A real
Forget the mediocrity of the food. The waiter last Tuesday night had literally no etiquette... absolutely none. He hesitated to give us an extra box for takeaway, and then when we asked him for 2 minutes to take care of the bill, he continued to hover. We asked him again kindly to give us two minutes, he would not leave. Then, he decided to announce the amount on the bill out loud (which we did not want to disclose to the others). Given the uncomfortable interaction, we did not feel enthusiastic about tipping too well, for which he awkwardly and outwardly states three times that the tip was not enough and it was very bad , very bad. We uncomfortably left and regretted being there for the unsettling experience and absolute lack of manners.
Great food. Fried rice tasted a little old but still very good. Came with soup and dessert which surprised me. Both very good. Everything about it was good, would come again.
Ordered Chilli Chicken from here for take-out. Upon eating it at home, I realized it literally tastes like breaded rubber fat and there was no chicken meat at all. How can an establishment think this is chicken meat and serve it to people? Absolutely shame on you for running your business like this!
My favourite place to take large groups of friends and family for some of the best Chinese food I ve ever had. Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the seafood is a MUST!! The deep fried squid with chilli and salt is my personal favourite.
Forcefully asking us to TIP them, which is so annoying. Wld never suggest anyone to go to this worst place, we where not served with respect. And the service is so bad.
Tipping a restaurant is depending on the service we get we didn t get that service and the guy was yelling at us in front of all customers just because we didn t tip him. So mean it was so embarrassing to be in front of all customers and he was yelling such a racist guy. I don t want to give the one stat but i have to fo only then
My favorite place to go!
Always a very busy, loud, crowded and full of energy restaurant because it is just that good! Prices are right, selection is unlimited, and food comes out hot and quick. Must make reservations, especially on weekends. The parking lot is not the best, so give yourself extra time to find a spot, especially in winter months.
The food is good. Price is reasonable
Used to like this place a lot but not as good as it used to be. Disappointed for quite a few times recently. Probably because of lower turnover nowadays and food has become not as fresh as before. Can taste it. It is returning to its former standard.
A busy Cantonese Chinese restaurant, authentic Hong Kong tastes with nice Wok Hei, great selection of simple stir fries and fresh seafood selections. Soup of the day & dessert are free with your meal. Expect long wait for a table during the weekends.
First time ordering take out here. Food was really fresh and authentic. Staff were very nice and friendly.
Friendly staff and tasteful food! We can t wait to go back Food
Don t believe the menu pricing online. Ordered noodles and supposed to be 12.95, but when I picked up, it was 17.99 +tax, came to 20.00 + for a plate size noodles. Wow, talk about false advertising.
Food was good, just the fry lobster was fried a little too dry, spicy shrimp was good, shrimp fried rice was good, sweet and sour chicken was ok, not a bad restaurant will definitely return again.
Rediscovered a nostalgic Cantonese treasure this May and returned already three times! And it just so happens to be #asianheritagemonth. Oh, and did I say, I am so in with their old school vibes ... Flashback 25 years ago, they were my familys go-to Chinese restaurant in Scarborough for a decade (when my grandma was still alive and my husband and I were just dating!) Little did I know they relocated not far from me... they just dropped the Seafood from their Royal Chinese name and was operating this whole entire missed times ! Never too late... It was all smiles, visiting with my boyz and the entire family for banquet style dinner to celeb Mothers Day and my parents anniversary too! Some of my faves- their deep fried shrimp crab balls, salt and pepper fried squid, HK Style chili garlic and pork clam stir fry, salted egg yolks coated shrimps with broccoli, pork loins and onions with maggi sauce and Yang chow fried rice. Their dinner for 10 menu for $368 is incredibly priced and so delicious! Bet you cant find this anywhere else Another AmaZing thing... I still recognize three of their servers... older and grey but still warm with great auntie and uncle table service. Nostalgic comfort just like old times
Scarborough best Chinese restaurant
I order singapore chicken noodles with no shrimp and my brother ordered singapore chicken and shrimp noodles. There was NO CHICKEN IN ANY OF THE NOODLES , in my noodles there was omelette eggs and in my brothers plate there was only 4 shrimps. The portion of the food was good though. Theres no dessert menus. Overall the experience was ok.
The food was not bad. But the service was terrible. Just took a seat and already standing right next to us rushing us to order and would not give us time to look at the menu. The worst part was when we were almost done a lady, who I believe is the owner, kept looking at our table and glaring at us because we were talking. But there were multiple empty tables that had no one seated and there was no line up. So we would assume we could sit a little longer. But she told the other waiters to clear our plates, serve us the dessert and give us the bill. I would understand if there was a huge line up but I think that is quite unacceptable the fact that there was no line up. Wouldnt recommend if youre planning to stay more then an hour.
Excellent service. Food was great.
The food is good there like the fried noodle cho mien but I dont have a picture of it second when I flex my muscles a server was kind and silly ask me if I gone to the gym
The staff is always rushing. Staff spilled water all over, and then we had to request something to wipe off the water. They gave us a dirty wet towel to wipe the water. Never even apologize.
Right to paralysis
Food is incredible! My family and I down here once a month and we look forward to it everytime. The uncles who work here are amazing. Highly recommend if you re looking for authentic Chinese food
Our Famous Chinese restaurant go to place!
Fried oysters amazing. Authenticity was all there. Thought the veggie scallops and the shrimp in garlic rice was honestly really bland but once we put chilli oil and soya sauce on it, it was good. The oysters inside was also less flavourful, but the fry batter was amazing and the size of them was amazing. You can see why this place has been around so long.
Great food with reasonable price. They serve the food in your dishes that was very interesting for me and I heard from my friends that it is south China and Hong Kong style and I liked that. The only thing that I can say is that when I asked the guy which food do you recommend and is the popular one he said I don t know that was a little bit strange foe me but overall I was happy from everything
My favourite place to get sweet and sour pork , Chinese broccoli and cabbage , pork bone soup with carrots and lotus roots , tofu with vegetables!!!!!!!! Dietary restrictions: Very good sweet and sour pork , pork bone soup with carrots and lotus roots !!!!!!!
One of the best Yue Chinese food restaurants. More than 20 years they served Toronto and more than 20 years I visited them. NO one can beat their price. Service is great. Food is great! Don t ask them what they recommend LOL, cuz all of the items on menu are great and there are too many of them.
Highly satisfied with thier food quality and service.
Came here for Chinese New Year with the family. It was our first time going here & it was delicious! Everything that we ordered was fresh, flavourful, cooked well. I would definitely go back & would recommend to others. The staff was friendly & accommodated us very well.
Excellent meal and great value for money spent
Great Chinese restaurant and I would say old school Chinese restaurant. The servers are super friendly and very helpful to all customers. The food taste great too. Price is decent.
Not bad
- overpriced, i paid 50$ for two meals. - horrible staff and service, they were very rude to me. - forced me to give them tips. - food is very very bad and super salty. I suggest you to find a better spot for chinese food this is not it
Terrible experience. Servers were kind of rude.
Flat, pretty, upright
Real Cantonese stir-fry and seafood restaurant
This is my go to place for Chinese Asian food I love this place all the staff are friendly once you get to know them ask for Freddy he will do anything for you to have a good experience great food great place
Very Good customer service. I enjoyed nice Chinese food.
I came here with a guest on a Saturday night and the place was PACKED yet they were so efficient at finding us a spot that we didnt even have to wait. The staff was very friendly! The food was very delicious and quite generous. Highly recommend!!!
I ordered the chicken cashew, it had a lot! of celery, carrots , a sprinkling of chicken and a few broken cashew. I detected a hint of ginger it was served in a watery gravy, disappointing. Next time I think I ll enjoy a can of chicken vegetable soup and a pack of nut for a tenth of the price !
Excellent place for late night chinese food prices were reasonable staff was polite and the food taste delicious definitely would recommend
Ordered 6 dishes but found 3 pretty flat in flavour. Usually ginger hot plate dish is full of flavour but again, found the flavour very flat. Noodles, pork, deep fried chicken, all excellent. I plan on going back to try other dishes. Food
One of my favourite restaurants!! The ambiance was good and the staff was friendly and incredibly attentive. Service was very fast and they always make the table is clean by removing the empty plates and dishes. Food was very tasty and wide range to choose. We as a group go here most of the times and every time we like this place.
Must be five stars! If there were six stars, I would give it. The timely service was very good and all the dishes were delicious. I really liked it!
Came here on Valentine s Day. Food came super fast and food was delicious. We went for the combo dinner for eight. Lobster, seafood, veggies, soup. Added the canton chowmein. Low on the MSG which is hard to find these days. Royal Chinese reminds of old school Chinese Restaurants how it used to be. Food
A late night chinese craving was satisfied. The food met our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our sever was extremely friendly and kind. Such a kind soul. We had a great time chatting and making jokes with him. I wish this place was open 24 hours. 10× better than perfect chinese (down the road) . I will definitely return.
Great food experience, although a bit pricey. But the service is excellent with your every need being accommodated, and the staff are wonderful to be chat with.
The Hachiwa dishes are enough for ten people and taste good. The fried raw fish and lobster are both delicious.
I d say this is one Toronto Chinese restaurant that I have received the best service. Staffs would come chat with you with warm and smiley faces as if they have known you for long. Rather than only just ask you how is the food. I enjoy my time there.
I always come with family to eat. Food is delicious.
What I expect from a typically chinese restaurant. Food and service is pretty decent. Wait-time isnt too long typically and atmosphere is loud. Do frequent this place since the staff are nice people.
Its food is fresh...handed to you steaming hot! Best place to buy take out! They cook while you wait so its worth it! Unless youre in a hurry
Clean, fresh, great service, good food
This is our current go to Chinese restaurant for traditional sit down dinners. Their food is excellent and is only outdone by their exceptional waiters who are very friendly and very quick. They are heads and tails above the typical service level provided at most other chinese restaurants. They serve house soup before dinner and oranges and fortune cookies after. Their waiters are excellent with kids always trying to engage to get a smile or giggle and will give them lollipops after dinner. This restaurant is very reminiscent of GTA Chinese restaurants from the 80s - Pacific, Lucky Star, etc. Kid-friendliness: All of the waiters we ve had have always been very friendly with our kids. They try to make them laugh and they will give them a lollipop after the dinner. This is an exceptional level of service for most restaurants and not just Chinese ones.
Great service, tasty food and lovely ambience.
Good place for late night chinese food
Typical Chinese restaurant. Service is what you expect. Prices are fair (Scarborough prices) Food was average. Some of the dishes were a little bland. The steam fish was a little overcooked. Maybe it was just a one-off
Great food and the service is really fast and friendly. Doesnt have as extensive a menu of some other Cantonese places around, but has more than enough to provide variety and offer classics as well. Open late, welcoming and always busy! A very good sign, an old school place which are disappearing unfortunately.
Amazing food
We came to try this place and didnt love it. The food was alright, there was missing more seasoning and flavor. We had ordered sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, flat noodles in some kind of soya sauce, and salt and spicy squid. I think this last one is deep-fried. The food as I mention was alright. However, the service provided by the staff is amazing. They were so professional and well-dressed. They made the experience a lot better. Always attentive and professional. The whole restaurant looks old and dirty, which I dont think it is. But they need some attention on the atmosphere in this place. They also give different menus to different people and that is something I think is not right. Should be a menu for all!
Great customer service and great portion on food
Make sure you call ahead for a reservation or you will be standing on the sidelines watching people eat. The restaurant is VERY loud so expect to be shouting across the table when trying to have a conversation. Food was fresh and hot out of the wok. Free soup to start and red bean dessert to finish.
One of the best in the area. Always busy, so be prepared for a lineup if youre there during peak hours. Personal recommendations would be the garlic & shrimp rice, clams, bitter melon coated in salted egg, lotus root and pork neck.
It was my first time here and the food here was delicious! One thing I do have to mention is the service! It was amazing!!!! Which I think hard to say for a lot of Chinese restaurants.
Awesome Cantonese restaurant with fast and friendly service. Excellent fried rice and bitter melon with beef. Pork chops are delicious as well. The only dish I didnt like was the tofu stew. In general its a great Cantonese restaurant. They offer free soup and dessert!!
Good
The food is great! Affordable and delicious! The waiters really serve customers! He looks very experienced!
If only food was better
The food is very authentic fare, which kept me coming back time & again. Although the wait stuff don t speak English [and can come off as rude to locals due to cultural difference, esp. the very cold blunt woman server], I still kept coming back/brought friends & spent countless dollars here now. Today was extremely disappointing - 2 portions of a dish ordered, when you look at the picture, both of the boxes combined equal 1 box. It was so scarce, I called to ask about it, and just got told that it s a new employee who prepared it. Would have thought they might offer a long-term loyal customer a better support, but they didn t.
Its a restaurant I like very much, but it has recently changed to small plates, and the amount of food is basically half of what it was before. . I don t know if anyone noticed
Tried several dishes and all were excellent. Service was decent.
Food was overall pretty good. Prices are fair for majority of the dishes. Staff were friendly and attentive. Came for dinner and soup of the day was provided at the start and Chinese mung bean dessert was provided at the end. Came on a Friday night and it was not too busy - did not have to wait in line. Things I ordered: Yang chow fried rice: 4/5 - very umami and had wok hey . A bit on the pricier side for fried rice Clams: 5/5 - very fresh and the clams were very large and had lots of meat. Steamed chicken: 4/5 - meat was tender and as good as any other restaurant for this classic dish Seafood birds nest: 3/5 - while it was fresh and tasty, there was not a lot of seafood. Barely 4 pieces of shrimps, 2 scallops, and 3 squid. Also expected the nest part to be fried taro but it was some kind of fried flour mixture instead? It did not hold up well against the sauce and became really soggy at the end. Beef with mushroom and onion: 1/5 - Did not enjoy this one at all. Portion was quite small, beef was quite chewy and the beef had a bizarre flavour to it, almost as if the beef was not fresh a sitting out too long. It did not really have a sauce so the beef and mushroom didn t have much flavour. Mushrooms were also cut way too large. Too much yellow onions added to bulk up the dish. I would recommend the beef with yu choy/Chinese broccoli instead. I saw many other tables ordered it and it looked much much better.
This place is good for late-night eats. Theyre open until 1 a.m. The stir-fried eggplant with enoki mushroom was tasty. We asked for a stir-fried vermicelli noodle without eggs. The waiter suggested 2 kinds of chives vermicelli. Its quite oily, the green chives were stiff and hard to chew. Vegetarian options: Can be customized, ask the waiter.
This is my place for Chinese food.
Friendly and courteous staff, fair prices Kid-friendliness: Everything is OK
Had a great meal with great company
It is sooo delicious!!Highly recommended!! Excellent customer service as well!!
The service was terrible in this restaurant. The waiter was so impatient when providing services and they brought the bill to me right away once we finished the meals.
Great prices & quantity of food!
This place has been here for so long but I only get to try it out today. There are many reasons for its long lasting. Foodwise, wok hei + fresh ingredients = great Cantonese cuisine. The service was surprisingly good, all the waiters and waitresses were experienced and friendly. I still remember seeing this store when I first arrived in Toronto more than ten years ago, but by some strange combination of circumstances I havent been to it over the years. Now that I have moved to this area, I can finally eat it. The aroma of the caged rice just brings out the freshness and sweetness of the shrimp, and the chicken is cooked very accurately and has excellent meat quality. While the food is of great quality, the service is also unexpectedly considerate and considerate, which sets it apart from some restaurants where I cook delicious food and you come here if you like it. I cant wait to try the dishes next.
The wok gas stir-fried dishes are top-notch and worth visiting. The food is of good quality
Delicious dinner for reasonable cost
The food and service are just as impeccable as it was pre-pandemic. Don t be intimidated by all the menu items written in Chinese. Many of the waiters also speaks English to help with ordering. Make sure to call for a reservation to avoid long wait times. One of my favorites is the crispy skin chicken either a half or whole.
There are so many people and it s so crowded, it feels like I ve been to Hong Kong
Complete disorder getting a table. Not worth the wait.
This place is an amazing place for great food..the service is amazing and impeccable. The portions are great.
waiter is a W
Everything here is excellent and the service is AMAZING .the only thing is the plaza is kinda sketchy so my only complaint is the location itself lol psa if u drive a nice-ish car
Great place to eat Chinese food
I recommend dining in at the Royal Chinese restaurant with friends and family after spending a day out and about. The food tastes fresh and not too oily. We had the sizzling beef, chilli friend shrimp, chicken/beef rice, and spicy vermicelli with meat. All amazing and I m looking forward to having it again. The staff are funny and we cracked some jokes about the fortune cookies we got. They are well staffed and we got our food pretty quick, although it wasn t too busy in the first place. 8.5/10 Parking: Lots of space. Shared parking in plaza. Kid-friendliness: Tables are a big distance apart. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to enter and exit. Everything on the first floor. Big men s washroom area.
i been there pretty often my favorite ginger lobster and crab. Seafood always fresh. Service always good Food
The food was so fresh and tasty especially the beef hot plate !
Nice taste. Good hospitality.
Food is very good. Tried the fried oysters, lobster, deep fried pork chop, bass fish all delicious. Fast service. Wheelchair accessible
A very consistent great restaurant. Very friendly, free soup and dessert, fresh fish, well cooked food. Thank you for your consistently reliable service
Delicious! Food was really authentic. Atmosphere was authentic. What a great chinese restaurant! Will definitely come back!
If youre looking for an old school Cantonese Chinese restaurant, this hits the spot.
My friend and I had dinner at this restaurant, and our experience was marred by the disappointing behavior of the servers. We were shocked to witness racial profiling, as they made assumptions based on our appearance. If you dont appear Asian, they automatically provide spoons and forks instead of chopsticks. When we requested chopsticks, one of the servers went so far as to comment, Some people cannot handle chopsticks. It left us puzzled, wondering why we were at a Chinese restaurant if they were going to serve us food with a westernized twist. We came for an authentic experience, and it was disheartening to see them assume our preferences without even asking.
We wont be eating here again. We were craving Chinese food and read the reviews, decided to eat here. The food was satisfying, quantity was good, but one would expect in a Chinese restaurant, chopsticks would of course be provided. On looking around, the people who seemed Asian all had chopsticks, but we were given forks and knife. It seemed like the fact that we look brown was the basis of their assumptions that we cannot use chopsticks. So they didnt even ask. Im surprised a place with such good reviews allows racial profiling to filter through the customer service provided. We saw the same thing repeated with another Iranian guest. It became worse when we addressed the issue with the server and he replied with some people cannot control the chopsticks. Disrespectful.
Best Cantonese Chinese food in Scarborough
Late night no frills Cantonese food. What else can you ask for.
A classic HK restaurant that serves up the classic Chinese dishes. While you can go in by yourself or with a date, it is better for a family or a group.
Good food and great service. Quick to the table with food. Friendly servers
We were looking for a restaurant near my daughters school and happened to see this restaurant. We checked the reviews and decided to give it a try. It was near Thanksgiving and the place was packed with people! We were thankful to be seated even though the tables were quite close to each other. The waiter was very friendly and took our order. Before our dishes came, we got free soup! We were pleasantly surprised by that! When our food came, they were all so delicious! After the main dishes, we got free Chinese desserts which were also a nice surprise! The atmosphere reminded me of the old style Cantonese restaurant where there are names of dishes on paper posted on the walls and the tables are covered with plastic tablecloths that can be thrown away. The place was buzzing with many people talking. All in all a great experience and great food!
Business is good, there are a lot of people queuing up The space is quite spacious. Although the service staff are all elder brothers and sisters, their service attitude and enthusiasm have not diminished. If you are familiar with the place, you can ask them for help quickly! The food tastes good, but some dishes are relatively bland in taste but not unpalatable. The iron plate beef tenderloin is chewy and tastes good, the sweet and sour pork is average, the roast chicken is ok and the portion is ok. The Bazhen tofu pot and The pre-meal soup was a little too bland! But overall it s ok~~ The dining atmosphere is lively and worth visiting again! The price is average, and it is on the petty bourgeoisie side, so there are a lot of young customers!
The food is amazing, the servers and staff are friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere
First time eating here. Overall experience was good. Ordered a few dishes including their signature chicken (taste very good) and steamed fish. I liked the fact they brought the live fish to you before they prep it out just to show you its the weight that you are asking for and its a live fish (not something frozen or sitting in the fridge for few hours). The service was great although they dont smile that much. The Boss (or the Manager) was very friendly though. Its best if you can call or make reservation in advance since they are pretty busy during dinner time. Prices are reasonable I think (taking the taste and portion) into consideration.
Extremely friendly staff, delicious food, and quick service, highly recommend.
Good food great people.
All dishes were really good except for the scallops and beef ribs. The scallops were not fresh enough and the beef was too sharp. Service was a solid 9~10 tho. Would definitely return.
