Prague Restaurant in Scarborough

Prague is one of my favourite restauarants in Scarborough. A hidden gem. We hosted our wedding dinner here last Saturday and everything was fantastic. The service was excellent, the food was yummy (our guests really enjoyed the breaded mushrooms), and it was an excellent team to work with to arrange everything for our event. They even provided some surprise touches such as fairy lights around our cupcakes! Our experience was fantastic and I will continue to come back again and again.

Very nice cozy place. We ve been here several times. Excellent food, very good service. You can try Koleno here - rare place in GTA, where you will find this, well prepared, very delicious. Probably, if they serve Koleno with Potato dumplings, it would be full Prague atmosphere, it still we had amazing experience.

This is one of those places that you find in the middle of nowhere. Its such a cute and cozy restaurant with beauty all around it. The food is fresh, made by hand and SO delicious. Try it once and you wont be disappointed!

Mimosas were great, pierogis were amazing and garlic bread was crunchy. Apple strudel wasn t to my taste but it was good with ice cream.

View and environment are definitely great! Today we arrived at 6 pm, ordered the food by 6:15 pm, food is served at 7:30 pm. The wait time is too long for sure.

Great hidden gem in Scarborough

The restaurant has a nice ambience with spacious indoor seating. Theres also a very nice patio that looksout into a grass field. The chicken schnitzel was good, not too dry and I like how the crumbs sticks to the meat. But the pork schnitzel was dry and a bit hard. The fries werent good, it looks like it was reheated a few times and salty too. The salad was good with a light dressing. We also had lemon panna cotta that I find they put too much gelatin causing it too be more harder, rather it being soft and smooth. The waitress we had was very attentive and efficient. The restaurant only got four stars because it got a nice view and comfortable seating and the waitress wasnt pushy, otherwise the food was mediocre.

Lovely food ! Simple yet a lovely ambiance

The grounds are beautiful. Staff pleasant and friendly. Had the Quinoa salad, very, very tasteless, had to add salt, pepper and lemon juice to make it palatable. Would not order that dish again.

Always delicious with attentive service and the balcony overlooking parkland is so serene! One of our go-to places!

Hidden away gem. Had the chicken schnitzel of course. Taste of Europe in Scarborough. Nice way to spend an evening.

Mariana does an excellent job and her staff with great customer service. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. The portion sizes are great and the chef does an excellent job also. I recommend this place to my Family and Friends to come here to eat. Also, the staff treat you very well and are polite and patient. Thank you very much Mariana and will be back for more gatherings. Best summer patio in Scarborough. This hidden community restaurant has fantastic pierogi and schnitzel. The patio is set among the trees, providing a calm setting.

Another hidden gem in Scarborough. Great European continental dishes, very tasty schnitzel! Elegant (but not pretentious) restaurant, wonderful location in spring & summer, with restaurant overlooking greenery in park. Nice for family gatherings, friend get togethers or date night. Highly recommend!

Schnitzel was really good

Bottles of wine are half price on Wednesdays. Portions were decent. I had the pork schnitzel with fries. Others at the table has the best salad and enjoyed it. Servers were okay. The restaurant has a rustic interior. Slightly dated but decent. Setting outside is quaint and inviting. Dont feel like youre in the city.

Excellent food and service; the schnitzel and apple strudel were incredible. Loved the atmosphere as well - cozy with European flair. To top it off Pilsner Urquell on draught!

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Scarborough! The food, the quality of the dishes, presentation and portions are top-notch! Not to mention the ambience, service and decor, its definitely a little getaway from home at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something different and wants to experience a little bit Czech culture and food! Definitely going to keep coming back here.

First time visit for this Czechia resident; Pig knee was spectacular; more genuinely Czech food please! The owner is Czech ; a real highlight of my Christmas visit to Toronto ; I want to go again next time! On the grounds of a golf course (no affiliation to the golf course) this Czech restaurant is the perfect summer dinner. They have an epic patio overlooking green space.

My wife and I went to Prague Restaurant for Valentine s Day dinner last night. It was our first time there. The restaurant is very homey, cozy and romantic! We ordered the schnitzel platter for 2 and the food was delicious! Such a nice dining experience there! We had a great time!

Loved it. Food is amazing and portions are perfect. We had the bohemian platter and it was perfect for my husband, daughter and I. The staff is very friendly and patient! Will come again.

We went to this restaurant for great food and we were rewarded with everything we hoped for. The schnitzels were excellent, everything else was at the same level and it only leads to one obvious outcome - we shall be back very, very soon!

We had our wedding here this month, and it was amazing! Special thanks to Mariana and the staff for not only helping us with coordinating with the vendors and preparing the venue but also for making sure that things ran smoothly on the day itself. Definitely a great place for events like ours!

Amazing Eastern European food!!! Hidden gem! This place never disappoints!

Being czech, we used to really love coming to this restaurant as it reminded us of home, had wonderful service and amazing food. However , it was the last time I would visit as it was far from what we had remembered. The food was beyond disappointing, and tasted bland , the meat was chewy and not soft, the food was warm, and it was not authentic whatsoever. There weren t many authentic true Czech dishes to choose from anymore. It was not the experience we remembered and we re hoping for. Less and less staff is speaking Czech as well and we just did not get the experience we once knew and why we loved to come here. We left truly disappointed.

Came here for a celebratory dinner, the occasion being my 30th birthday. I used to visit the Czech Republic regularly when I lived in Europe, and I was craving some genuine bread dumplings for quite a while! This place hit the spot, the food was delicious! Breaded mushrooms were probably the best Ive ever had. The goulash and pork were more than great, sauerkraut was perfectly made. Suitable portion sizes, pilsners served on tap. I was eyeing other dishes as well and they all looked extremely appetizing, definitely coming back to try the fried cheese, or one of their schnitzels. The staff was very nice and helpful. Came here in the winter, but it seems that the outdoors are amazing. Highly recommended, if youre craving some Czech

Good Czech food. Good size portions. We have been coming here since I was a child. Friendly. The grounds are nice. Inside is average- a little dated. My mother went to summer camp here so lots of good memories for both of us. Schnitzel and dumplings are really good!

Definitely one of my favourites. Been coming here for a few and it s consistently great. They seem to have gotten rid of my favourite, the segedin goulash, which is a shame but their schnitzels and roast pork are enough to keep me coming regardless.

I can t say enough good things about this restaurant! Food is amazing, location is amazing! It does not feel like you re anywhere in Scarborough, surrounded by a beautiful park and greenery. It is one of the best patios I have been to ever, and it is charming in the winter with soft lights and beautiful ambiance. Every time we visit we feel at home!

Great Schnitzel!

Raised in Scarborough and I ve passed this area hundreds of times over the years never knew this place existed. A friend was looking for a spot for lunch for 8 of us and it was between here and a pasta restaurant. We all chose Prague Restaurant because how often do you really have a good Czech meal? Are we ever glad we did! Great food, great service, nice ambience and fair prices. Will be back again!

Very unique that it is as authentic as the one I have in Prague. Have to try their pig hock. Really good.

Vibes: THE spot for an al fresco family lunch in Scarborough. Came here for a fathers day late lunch and fell in love with the breezy and expansive views. Gorgeous venue with beautifully well-maintained exterior and interior. Service: The owner and servers are wonderful, couldnt have asked for a more pleasant afternoon here Food: They start you off with some complimentary bread and butter, not the freshest and could have been warmed but still appreciated. The food was good but I do prefer more of a flavour kick to my spice-accustomed palette, for example the beef stroganoff tasted good in terms of quality but was still reminiscent of a plain soup. The main attraction ended up being our starter - breaded mushrooms so fresh and juicy we finished them off faster than our mimosas! (Hence why theyre not pictured ) The schnitzels were great, if you dont opt for the mushroom-sauced option, get gravy for yours. It goes well on the potatoes too.

A really great find. Great balcony overlooking a beautiful park and golf course. The food is fantastic. Be sure to get the perogies either as an appetizer or entree. Overall, food is fresh and full of flavour. Service is friendly and on point.

Good service,good food and good prices

Honestly. This place is a hit or miss. I ve been coming with my family for over 15 years and it depends on the night. Sometimes the food is really good, other times it s bland and flavourless. I would mostly recommend the schnitzels because they are the most consistent. I do not recommend the stroganoff at all (which is too bad cause that s my favourite food of all time). The service is also spotty, too. Sometimes you get a great server, and then others they seem rude or off put by your requests. Recently we went for dinner with my 94 year-old Nana and we were sitting on the patio. It was a sunny area and she was getting hot so we requested the open table in the shade. They declined and brought over an umbrella instead. Like cmon. Just give the 94 year-old a table in the shade. Anyway, the cocktails are nice and the patio is gorgeous. I can see why they host weddings. The gardens are really well done. All in all it s beautiful place but the quality of food and service could use a step up.

Good service and yes the Schnitzel is pretty good but thats about it. I tried Chicken Paprikash for a change and what a disappointment, there was basically no chicken in it and fusilli pasta instead of noodles as mentioned in the dish description. When I asked the waiter why was that, she simply replied nobody notices that so all good...my beer was ok but super diluted and the Aperol Spritz had probably only few drops of Aperol and prosecco! Well if east Europeans are famous for generous portions, I am sure none of them is working in the kitchen. Definitely, thats the last time I eat there and its a shame as the place is quite nice, but food and drinks experience this time was really poor! Bye bye

Our family went there for dinner tonight due to the high rating. I was mildly disappointed. 1) the service was just mediocre. Maybe it was just this one waitress that served us. She could be friendlier. 2) We ordered the platter for 2. For $62, the portion should have been bigger. The food was tasty but not memorable. 3) the patio was very nice though so I gave it a 5 stars. 4) The kids menu is on the pricey side. Kid-friendliness: They offered a kids menu but it was expensive.

Schnitzel heaven. Their schnitzels are a bit thin and therefore evenly crispy on all sides. Definitely recommend getting a salad side to cut the grease between schnitzel bites! They have a spacious patio surrounded by trees overlooking a grassy field. Great atmosphere & location Edit: Gave four stars because our server was definitely awkward.

The patio setting and vibes at Prague are fantastic. We came for an anniversary dinner and really enjoyed our food. The schnitzel was crisp and very tasty. My only complaint was the service. After we ordered our drinks the server took our menus and forgot about us until we flagged her down and asked if we could order. She said somebody took our menus (she did!) and thought we had ordered. Bizarre. For our desert she brought me a lukewarm coffee and no strudel. By the time the strudel arrived my coffee was done and I wasn t asked for a refill. Maybe she was having an off night or a new server? Aside from the service, our experience here was very good.

Stopped for a really great lunch of homemade Czech food. Great setting and super friendly staff.

One of the most unique dining experiences in Toronto and well worth the drive if you don t live nearby. The restaurant is tucked into a green park and dining room overlooks a field of huge mature trees. If you sit on patio it s even better feels like you re fine dining in treehouse. Food is hearty and delicious Central European fare. Think schnitzel, bread dumplings and goulash. Czech food isn t as well know as other cuisines but when cooked right it s delicious. Great Czech Beers on tap plus good cocktails and wine list, all served by friendly staff in a ambiance that blends old world art with new world service. Cannot recommend Prague Restaurant highly enough!

A nice restaurant next to a park. Various food items from Prague /Czech republic are served including sausages, stews, schnitzels etc. The balcony offers a view of the park which is quite relaxing. For kids they will give you some crayons and paper to draw on. A high chair is also proposed.

A cozy low key spot with great service friendly staff and a good variety of European food. Portions are healthy and the environment is cozy. Perfect for birthdays and corporate events

Really wanted to love this place and to have it become a regular spot of ours, given our heritage, but sadly, came away extremely disappointed. First and foremost, I wish to discuss the poor value proposition offered here. For two of us, I spent $150 all-in, which, to me, is preposterous for the quality and quantity of food we were fed. While its a much-less fancy spot, youd be much, much, better off making the trek to the opposite end of the city, to Golden Pheasant, if Czech/Slovak fare is what youre craving. There, the portions are significantly larger (more than twice the size, seriously), and the dishes overall, in my humble opinion, superior in every quantifiable regard, from the cook to the flavour to the quality of ingredients. Everything there just tastes so much better. Sure the garnish might not be as cute, but thats irrelevant to me- Id much rather the spot that tastes much better. Everything we had here was just a sad, lacklustre, representation of the dish it was meant to represent, from the goulash soup to the schnitzels we ordered, through to the pork hock... Highlight for us was the apple strudel, which is perhaps the smallest portion of the dish wed ever seen- for toddlers, truly. Service was near warm nor cold. Location is stunning, however, and is a big redeeming factor here, and the only reason Im awarding 2 vs. just 1 star- it is nestled in a scenic and picturesque little nook of Scarborough. While the interior is certainly dated and could use with upgrading, its just fine for the time being, and just works against the lovely expansive views over the green- Id return just to be able to dine against such a backdrop. I really cant say for certain, and dont mean to be gate-keepy, however, Im willing to bet theres not a Czech or Slovak person in the kitchen... its just speculation on my end, but Im assuming thats why the dishes simply lack any passion or depth of flavour- and if it is a Czech or Slovak prepping the food, then Im sorry, brother/sister, but youve strayed... A sad day for me, as after wanting to make it here for so many years, I had high hopes, but came away sorely disappointed- especially when considering how much I spent. Sad food. Go to Golden Pheasant instead- its far from Prague, but so worth the drive for what you get. Edit: Just seeing the restaurants reply now, and am somewhat taken back by the fact that someone posing as so savvy to formulate such a lengthy rebuttal would care to get entangled in something like (what Im sure they thought was sly) body shaming of a paying patron, regardless of what said patrons view of their food/establishment was. Seems like quite the low-hanging fruit- I personally couldnt care less about some inane schoolyard insults of my figure, but it reflects rather poorly on the business I should think. Also, just an fyi, went back to check my bank statement, and youre right, my bill wasnt $150- it was just $148.49, happy to send you a copy from my personal e-mail, and not hidden behind a pseudonym- what should I be afraid of, that youre gonna have the Czechoslovakian mafia dispose of me? Also, the irony behind stating nobody will read my long essay, only to, in turn, reply to my review by doing the very same thing- funny. Hope you can do better, kamarády, as a restaurant, but also (as I now see) as people.

I hadnt been to Prague since my wedding reception was held in that location in 1978. The decor has changed, there are now a few buildings around it but the scenery outside the windows and from the large outdoor deck as well as the food are just as wonderful as they were back then. Our group of 7 each thoroughly enjoyed various schnitzel offerings, chicken paprikash, pork roast, salad, and pierogis. Service was great as well. Well be back sooner next time.

We went for dine in to celebrate a birthday. We were 10 people. The place was dirty, specially the washroom that smells really, really, really bad. The washroom has those small flies everywhere. The food is very plain with not flavour and not to much taste. I tried the schnitzel with ham and cheese and beef goulash. No flavour, not a single condiment. The service was fine. The restaurant charges $3.50 ,per person to cut your own cake, which would have added $35 for my group. We decided not to pay to cut the cake at the restaurant and we went for coffee and cake to a different place. So, this killed the whole purpose of the celebration at the restaurant. The prices are very expensive for the offer/menu. I wont recommend this restaurant.

The food is okay but not amazing. The prices I feel is a little high for the overall experience. The staff is excellent. The bad: The washrooms were very smelly of urine and there was a lot of small flies flying around. I dont see how this could be acceptable for a restaurant manager. We had a group of 10 as we were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant wanted to charge $3.50 per person for us to be able to have the cake there. I understand if there is a fee, but this is plain unreasonable especially considering that we had spent so much already on food and drinks. We decided to go elsewhere for the cake, coffees and teas and will probably not come back for future occasions.

Great schnitzel and spatzle

The best schnitzel weve had in many years. Tender, fresh, hot, tasty. Loved the spaetzle! Fresh beet salad. The server went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. Will return soon.

Hidden gem for Scarborough.

Its the best pierogies in Toronto! Overall very yummy, healthy, and top quality Czech food including schnitzel made with great quality meats, and sauces. Its the perfect ambience for a date night and is our go to place for date nights in Scarborough The drink pairings are also wonderful, the cocktails are lovely and so are the appertifs

What a unique spot in the city. Its definitely a hidden gem. Ive never tasted a better perogy! Everything tasted incredible. I cant wait to come back in the summer and try the patio!

This is one of our favourite restaurants. The staff are great and don t rush you. You can enjoy conversation without needing to yell and the schnitzel is always perfect.

Decided to give Scarborough a try since Im usually going to whatever new and trendy place is making current headlines downtown. Very glad we came here. After being disappointed one too many times with either the food, portions, prices and/or staff with the downtown joints, Prague was just straightforward, very good, home style cooking. We had the goulash soup, Prague salad, veggie pierogies, chicken schnitzel, potato salad, sauerkraut and apple strudel. All of it was really good. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend and will be going back to try other menu items.

Came here with my best friend and her friend to have dinner. Well all I can say is I was born in Scarborough and lived there for years and this location is truly a hidden gem. Very friendly staff, with the pleasant music (noticed jazz and classic pop), decor is a bit old but given how long this place has been around it gives that much more character to it. For starters we had perogies and it was cooked through to perfection and not to mention was not oily. My main was the chicken schnitzel with home made fries and salad. I was very pleased with this as the chicken was not oily and the batter was not too thick either plus the chicken was nice and tender. The fries were cut into cubes can only assume for faster cooking but once again cooked perfectly and not oily either. Then finally the salad now normally Im not big on salads unless I make it myself but this place you can taste the freshness and whatever they drzzelled on it gave it a nice kick; wished they offered a tiny bit more but no big deal. Now for this main overall good portions and even though it was filling it was surprisingly not heavy at the same time. Finally onto the dessert, I was contemplating between the brownie and the apple struddle but picked the brownie only because the struddle had raisins in it (Im no raisins fan folks) but from what I can tell though it is made the proper way so will try that the next time I visit. But back to the brownie and my gosh not too sweet, not too hard or soft either as it was made perfectly and the berries to go with it you can tell these had to come fresh from a garden as store bought berries are garbage. Overall would I come here again? YES! Do I recommend others to come here? DOUBLE YES! I want to give a 4.5 but cant give .5s on here but the reason why Im not giving a 5 is because there was tiny flies coming in the restaurant and distracting me only because the door to patio was open and if one sat by the window like I did and you sit too close to the window you can feel the cold air hit you coming from the a/c but please dont take that the wrong way as those are just minor things.

Very good restaurant with Czech cuisine and traditional dishes of the Central European region (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria). Great draft beer - Pilsner Urquell. You can also speak Czech or Slovak in the restaurant. Very nice service and staff. Clean place. They have their own free parking. You can have a table inside and on patio.

Visited this amazing restaurant to celebrate a special milestone for my mum and we loved the food and the great customer service! The perogies and the Bohemian Platter tasted delicious. Quite place for a romantic dinner. Good food and service. Wouldnt mind to go dinning again. Outdoor sitting seems nice, but it was just too windy on our visit, so we choose indoor instead.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful restaurant. We had our wedding there 5 years ago, so we went back to celebrate our anniversary. Mariana and her staff took care of us very nicely. The food was excellent, fabulous beer and we are very happy for we had our anniversary here.

Decor elegant, space was spotless. Service was very attentive. The food was top quality with generous portions. Our party had two different schnitzels and beef goulash. A good selection of beers, wines and spirits. The desserts were well executed, especially the filled crepes. Highly recommended. Parking: Lots of free parking. Classy and warm, this restaurant gives a welcoming vibe from the moment you enter. The schnitzel (I tried the Ham and Cheese which has ham and mozzarella stuffed between the schnitzel) is authentic in flavour and texture and the tartar sauce gives it the perfect balance. I also tried the Vienna coffee which was rich and creamy (when the whipped cream is stirred in) and served with a small piece of 72% chocolate that makes the coffee taste even richer. Service was excellent and the waitress we had was very attentive and accommodating. Thanks for an awesome experience, I ll be back to try more of the dishes.

We have a great experience doing my daugthers 18th birthday party here last October 22, 2022. Mariana and her husband are nice. And the ladies who served the food are nice and Tish. The place are nice and cozy. The food are so delicious we take the food package which is 48 dollars per plate. All my guest are complementing the food is delicious. Compliment to the chieft. We all enjoy the food and the place. The mushroom chicken, the pasta, salmon with deli sauce, pork breaded cutlet are delicious. Thank you guys.

10/10 experience. On time with the food service for our wedding. One of the biggest pet peeve for weddings is the delay and slow services. Prague made sure everything was done in a timely manner and not only that they catered to our every need. I can say for myself that Prague has helped built our memories from the ceremony to the food, to the alcohol! I strongly recommend Prague for the wedding, as well you can use the altar in the park for your wedding photos. The whole experience from start to finish was seem less and I promise you will not be disappointed coming here.

We hosted a small company Christmas party at Prague and we were incredibly satisfied with every aspect. The restaurant is a hidden gem and we loved being able to dine surrounded by a beautiful park. We ve been to the location in summertime, and the patio overlooking the park is a great experience. The service was very professional and attentive to every need we had. We ordered shared plates for the table, consisting of chicken and pork schnitzel, sausage, potato salad, as well as goulash soup to start. It was absolutely delicious, and coming from Eastern Europe ourselves, it tasted exactly like home. We have a new favorite restaurant in Scarborough!

Ive been to the Czech Republic several times and the food here was truly comparable. Being 2nd generation Czech myself, the food reminded me of the food I ate in my childhood. Truly it is so unfortunate that there are not more Czech restaurants and other such locations in Canada. A loss for all those who do not have the opportunity to buy a flight to this wonderful land.
