Ding Tai Fung brings the flavors of China to Agincourt and the Scarborough area. Specializing in noodle and dumpling dishes made from authentic ingredients and recipes, this eatery strives to bring international traditions and flavors across borders. Guests can stop in for lunch and dinner. Entrée options are a mix of noodle soups, steamed dumplings, wontons and fried noodles. Ding Tai Fung also offers desserts, including red bean and sweet taro xiaolongbao, eight-treasure sticky rice, red bean rice cake and much more.
First time trying this location. We ordered the following: 1. Braised beef noodles in soup - good! 2. Green onion pancake - first bite, no taste. second bite, salty. repeat. 3. Pan fried pork dumplings - skin is light, but not much flavour. 4. Shanghai noodles - smells great, but no taste. Would prefer the location at First Markham Place instead. At least you know there's no MSG because of the bland taste.
A nice busy Taiwan/Shanghai cuisine restaurant, bright & fresh interior with a nice vibe, great food of northern Chinese dim sum and noodles, extensive menu, juicy 小籠包, 紅燒牛肉麵 with soft succulent big chunks of beef shank, fast efficient service with helpful staff.
Xiao long bao's were juicy. Yummy!! Those spicy wontons were great too!!
Decided to try this place on a whim for some nostalgic Shanghainese food for my father and we were really glad we did. The food here was delicious. Definitely known for their Xiao long bau, and we also tried the beef pancake wrap, assorted seafood and vegetable platter, and rice cakes. Would love to come back and try some other favourites. Staff here were really sweet as well and very attentive. Restaurant is big, bright, and clean.
Great place to eat some nice tasty dumplings at. Check the picture of the bill to see what we ordered! Our favourite was most definitely the Shanghai Wonton w/ Spicy Sauce. It was the most flavoured, so good that we ordered another one. All items were a solid 10/10. Most definitely try it yourselves. Aesthetics were also clean and beautiful, plenty of seating as well.
Delicious food, very clean and modern restaurant and kind staff. Food is "cleaner" not overly salty or oily. Prices are a bit higher than other comparable restaurants but worth it for quality service, food and atmosphere. We got 4 dishes: pork noodle soup with pickled cabbage, pork buns, black pepper beef teneerloin, soup pork dumplings
Everything about this place was okay. Food for the most part was pretty good — although the snow pea tips were a bit “old” (chewy). The sticky rice was pretty small also. It was pretty spacious and bright in there. Service was okay. We didn’t have the need to interact with staff outside of ordering, during food delivery and asking for the bill.
As someone who has visited this restaurant many times, I can confidently say that the food is consistently delicious. However, there is one dish that truly stands out - their soup filled dumplings. These dumplings are absolutely incredible and I highly recommend trying them if you visit. Another aspect of this restaurant that I truly appreciate is their exceptional service. It's not just one server who goes above and beyond, the whole team is friendly and efficient. In terms of seating, the restaurant is quite spacious which is great for larger groups or if you just want some extra elbow room. Parking can be a bit hectic on weekends. They accept credit and debit cards. If you do have cash on hand, paying with it will actually get you a 10% discount, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for their exceptional food and service.
Fully enjoyed all the items we tried, especially the pan fried dumplings, soup dumplings and green onion pancake.
Yummy food! Rarely any wait for table. Good service.
For sure we will be back.
The food was terrible, the portions were very small, and it was overpriced. The service was poor, and I do not recommend it; they even pressured us for tips, refusing to let us leave until we tipped more
I do not recommend this service; its the worst Ive experienced and is overpriced.
The food is always tasty and fresh. The restaurant is clean and it has a good atmosphere. Great place for Shanghai style dim sum. The soup filled dumplings are a must!
Great Dim Sum. Must try.
Dumplings were very good, food was fresh as it gets!
One of my favourite spot for dimsum. You will get lots of option for dimsum and they are really mouth-watering. The ambience is also great, so is the tea.
The food was delicious.
The servers are extremely rude. Extremely!! Lisa the server was extremely rude and didn t care what we wanted. I asked for water and she didn t bring it, when I reminded her she said she is busy! Really?? For water?? I wasn t asking to bring my food sooner, I wasn t asking to give my feet a massage, I was asking for WATER! And when she got the food she was banging it on the table! I ask the foodie community, would this deserve a tip? Would this deserve a high rating or anything more than 1 star? What the hell man?? Seriously??
Delicious. Really enjoyed our meal here. Im Chinese and Ive been eating this kinda food all my life. So its not really a preference for me when I go out to eat. However this place I will gladly go to if Im feeling Chinese!
Tricking customers into thinking this is the real Din Tai Fung!! Terrible restaurant, I was extremely dissapointed to learn that it wasnt the real one when I got there and got even more dissapointed when the food wasnt even edible!!
went here for the soup dumplings and it didn t disappoint ! Will definitely be a repeat place !
Stuff was so bad dealing never go back
The service staff is friendly and has a very good attitude. The xiaolongbao and pan-fried buns are delicious.
Fake Din Tai Fung, I m so angry after traveling so far away Fake Ding Tai Fung, real Ding Tai Fung: https://www.dintaifung.com.tw/store_world.php?cid=3
Dined here with large family last week. The food was absolutely dismal and the manager was not receptive to our feedback that the food is not up to par as compared to our previous visits.
Bit into a screw that was hidden in the shanghai noodles...the Manager did her best to take care of us but cant ever come back after this.
Came in from hastings and had to have lunch here. Always grest
sucks
Not the same Michelin Star Din Tai Fung. Food/Service quality was not at all like the ones in US. We ordered egg fried rice but were still charged for chicken fried rice. They said its the same price for both.
This restaurant is fake, not the real Din Tai Fung Pay attention to lightning protection
I went there a while ago and it was meh. I later found out that this restaurant is not the ding tai fung we all know from Taiwan. No wonder!! Apparently they trademark it in canada so the real one from Taiwan can t open one in Canada.
Be careful, the real famous Michelin one that most people know is Din Tai Fung, which doesn t have the letter G in it.
Came here with some friends and the food was amazing, and good service :)
Restaurant is clean and spacious. However, average food overall. Was a bit disappointed with the taste of the food - we ordered dumplings, fried rice and chicken side dish. The dishes are quite overpriced and not value for money. Definitely many better options in the vicinity.
The food, portions, service and pricing is amazing. My go-to spot for dim sum!
Favourite restaurant!
The environment is new, but the food and service are terrible. The tableware and chairs were taken away without saying hello because someone came to the big table next to it. The food Xiao Long Bao was okay, the green beans were undercooked, the three-cup chicken, and the Wuxi pork ribs were not good. I took the chair next to me without asking, I just said, take your hands away, and moved away.
Honestly, I really cant remember how many times we went back in this restaurant. Their soup dumpling were fantastic! Its my all time fav resto so far. Must visit! With an amazing and friendly staffs.
I don t usually write reviews but this place worth writing. The chicken soup is like $10 but just two pieces of chicken with no flavor soup. The fired bean is so dry, and we wasted all of them. They are fake ding tai fung.
Came here to have some Dim Sum, which was flavorful and juicy. We also had the braised beef noodles and sweet and sour pork chops which was okay. Overall it was good Dim Sum experience that s all.
Food was okay, decent flavor The xiao long bao filling texture is a bit odd Food
Very satisfying dishes and service
The food here doesn t taste like the original dintaifung. The is ok but the other dishes we ordered are not as good. The price is above average as well.
Lovely dim sum restaurant! The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I cannot wait to come again.
Food and service here are consistently good. Ive recommended this restaurant to friends and family who are craving noodle soups and soup dumplings. All the ingredients are fresh. Food never too greasy. Definitely opt for any of the noodle soup, soup dumplings, and green onion pancake when youre here. The drunken chicken (appetizer) is pretty good too, and this is the only place I can get this dish. Plenty of dishes to choose from - dumplings/pancakes as appetizers, variety of meat and veggie main dishes, soup and fried noodles, and interesting desserts (including sweet dumplings!). We always enjoy our dining experiences at this location.
A MUST when visiting Toronto! The soup dumplings are bar none, hands down, THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. I dream of their Xiao Long Baos, the filling, the broth, the dumpling skin just divine. Food : 5/5
The service is very poor today! Dim sum came 10 minutes after the hot dish which took about 25 minutes to cook, that was ridiculous! The server was requesting customer to pay cash, and asked do you have $100 on you? Pay cash! That s the rudest service I had experienced from ding tai fung. From my personal experience, I would recommend take out only if anyone craving for Shanghai dim sum. Poor service, not recommended to do dine in.
This restaurant was extremely loud on a Sunday at noon. To carry on a conversation everyone is yelling and the staff are making a ton of noise setting up the tables with the dishes clanking
Xiaolongbao is the 10 out of 10! However, other dishes which we have ordered Sanbeiji and salt & pepper pork were disappointing. Wonton soup is average, and rice cake felt like from market freezer.
This Ding Tai Fung is not the famous Taiwanese Din Tai Fung restaurant that has branches all over the world. The food is simply not up to par, not even close to the original. The so-called Shanghainese cuisine lacks authenticity and the taste is not good at all. I can say this is the worst Chinese restaurant I have been to in Toronto. However, the waitstaff there are helpful and professional.
We only had Xiao Long Bao. Food is good.
Our table were located nearby the bathroom... so smelly
This is our first experience at the Scarborough location. But just as good as the one in North York. Super food. Great service.
Our go to for Shanghai food. The xiao long bao is by far the best I ve ever tasted in the GTA. I also love that it s so spacious. You don t feel like you re being crammed in.
This place is empty usually. Tons of available tables but the servers will not seat before they seat the window seats first to make it appear like the restaurant is full. Terrible service. I came here today and the restaurant was empty. The server made us wait for a table near the window and then blamed the customer for not leaving and vacating the table for us. It s not the customers fault, it s the restaurant s for not seating people at the SEVERAL empty tables in the restaurant.
friendly, fast, delicious, clean spacious restaurant, average $10/dish for lunch time
Everything is just delicious! If you want to eat xiaolongbao, go here! Bok choy rice/ Chili sweet and sour pork/ Xiaolongbao/Dongpo pork
Level up dimsum place
The food was amazing Dimsum and the fresh noodles that is definitely made from scratch . I love the open kitchen and staff are nice and very clean place.
Great place for dumplings and usually drive to eat her a couple times a year. The spicy wonton is our favorite along with a few other items. Prices have really gone up over the past 4 years.
Great Dim Sum (not pictured because of problematic dinner guests)! The Sweet and Sour Pork (pictured) was good as well.
Very small portions and very over. Priced
Happy Chinese New Year and Year of the Dragon. I celebrated New years with my family. This restaurant has locations all over the globe. Ive seen one inside the Aria in Las Vegas. Our favorite items here are the fresh soup filled dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, green onion pancakes, Shanghai noodles, braised beef rolled pancake, Siu mai with shrimp. The dining room is spacious, modern, and comfortable. Its much better than the First Markham place location. You order your food with a checklist order card, and the items are categorized and listed numerically. If youre new to Northern Chinese dimsum, then definitely try this restaurant out as they serve up fresh dumplings and portions are generous.
Love this place as a kid and its still a restaurant I enjoy going to with my family. They have shrunk the portions a bit (I noticed the sticky rice was sooo tiny) but everything always tastes good here.
The food is distasteful and not worth the price. Show attitude and ask us to tip more. Not recommend
We are regulars at this place and we live in Mississauga! It s worth the drive every single time. The soup dumplings are our fav!
One of the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. Hardly any service and they forcefully insist on tipping higher percentages. Tipping should be voluntary. Management should pay the staff properly rather than hire rude ladies whos only focus is on collecting tips forcefully. Its a shameless place.
Decent food but not the greatest. Been twice. I don t think I will be back. Soup dumplings were smaller
I ve had Din Tai Fung before in other countries, this falls short from what it is. The food is not that great. I wouldn t come back if I was craving soup dumplings.
Great place to enjoy as assortment of freshly made dumplings. Favs are the beef onion pancake wraps, soup dumplings which they offer in mini and large size (kiddos like the mini) The spicy wontons are delish as well. Overall spacious restaurant with plenty of seating and clean. Service is quick and friendly. It s one of our go-to spots in the Scarborough area. Parking: Lots of parking and they have a few EV parking spots as well.
The best food in this restaurant is the steamed buns. The chef has no clue with other Shanghainess food. So, please do NOT try any other Shanghainess dishes other than steamed bun. (Terrible experience with Wuxi style ribs, salty pork soup, etc. ). Parking will be a problem during weekends. Dinning environment and services are good. For sure , will come back for steamed buns.
The food is great, but they should really change the hours. They say they close at 10pm, but 915pm is the last call. After 915pm, they dont make any food at all.
Xiao long bao, braised pork belly with preserved vegetables and beef satay wraps - my order every time yummmm.
Good food and service.
Fried Buns Please take a look at this fried buns. I took a big bite and it was all noodles. There is no soup in the pan-fried buns and very little meat. The bottom was just a little browned, not up to the standard of a normal pan-fried bun. The dough for the buns is made from yeast dough that has many holes and is very soft. I suspect that I am eating steamed buns or bread. Does the chef really know how to make pan-fried buns? [Crab roe bun] There is no crab flavor at all, so I had to open the bun to see if it was served to me by mistake, but I found a very small amount of shredded crab meat. [Garlic sprouts] are full of oil. Every vegetable leaf is covered with oil. It feels so uncomfortable. [Cold Jellyfish] The jellyfish is very turbid and brown... I suspect it is not jellyfish at all. I have never eaten like this before. It is too unpalatable. Xiaolongbao The only one that is okay Summary: I m very disappointed, don t come here. I don t understand why it s so good and hasn t closed down yet. Who is saying it s delicious without conscience?
The dumping in this restaurant chain cannot go wrong. I have been eating in the Markham location since day one however it s always terrible wait there. This location is much bigger, clean and comfortable. The food tastes the same. Just the curry noodles a bit salty but overall excellent. No wait to get in. Kids and seniors friendly. Lots of parking spots. Sorry we started eating before taking pictures. p.s. you don t need to touch any door to get to the washrooms which is nice.
It was my first time and it was a great experience so enough space to park and plenty of space for sitting as well. The servers and staff are friendly and helpful. Lets talk about food 14. Soup Dumpling: juicy & delicious 54. Minced pork and vegetable wonton soup : portion was huge and good as well 31. Pan fried pork and chive pops: was ok, enough for 2 people 81. Soy stewed pork and mushroom with steamed rice: the pork was tender loved it 147. Iced plum drink: not to my liking Overall its a wonderful place for a family gathering or catching up with friends, not that pricey we had a wonderful time and were full at the end of the day
One of the best dumpling restaurants in Toronto. The soup dumplings are excellent. The place is clean, modern and bright with good service Parking: Busy mall parking
Very clean and spacious. Friendly staff. I was not impressed with the food selection. It was quite limited. Food was alright. Food
I like this location better than the one in Markham, more space less crowded , Good food Recommended dishes
Dimsum for dinner are good here but everything else is pretty basic but overall decent prices for the interior that they have. Staff speaks fluent English and tables are set very well. Will not visit again. Thanks
It s been ages since I ve had dim sum and it was delicious. I tried tendon for the first time and it was pretty good. Service was okay but it was a pretty good experience overall.
Served me raw shrimp icant
The classic dishes are all good
Great and quick service, fresh meals with fresh ingredients, a great place to socialize with friends, or for date night! Parking: Lots of spots
Great food! Wide variety of choices! Great Service! Place is designed so nicely definable and upscale place!
Love love love their soup dumpling!
Food was good but staff was rude. They forced us to tip them and that is highly unacceptable. Restaurant needs to learn and practice Customer Experience, and understand the true meaning of it. Very shameful though!
Free EV charging station available (2 hours limit). Enough time to eat and shopping at B-Trust after that. Spacious place for delicious chinese dumplings. Parking: Free EV charging parking (2 hours limit)
One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The portions are small, the taste is strange, and the price is more expensive than others. It cost a hundred for two people to order just a few dishes.
Soup dumplings are the best
SO yummy! Tried this place recently and the xiao long bao were *chefs kiss*! highly recommend
Definitely a favourite eats spot for me! Find myself here at least once every couple weeks! Food is great and always consistent! They get it to you quick too!
Help support. But I think you can consider opening your own restaurant. Your dishes and taste will not be inferior.
Ding Tai Fung is the international pride of Taiwan!
always amazing food at Ding Tai Fung.
Family friendly, good eats, huge variety. Family friendly: 5/5 We were offered a booster seat for my 3yo because shes quite big/tall for her age, but since she wiggles quite a bit, I asked for a highchair instead. I also appreciated the separate, non-breakable bowls and utensils for her, very thoughtful! Menu and ordering: 4.5/5 Its quite a task to order if you cant read Chinese! The ordering slip is all in Chinese, but fortunately its numbered the same as the menu which does have English. The hardest part is differentiating some of the dumplings, which isnt as obvious or translated consistently in English. Food: 5/5 Everything tasted great! Food also came out really quick considering we got there around 2pm and the staff were winding down for break. Service: 4.5/5 Up until near the end, all the servers were fantastic. There was only 1 server left when we were ready to pack up and pay, everyone else presumably on break, and she didnt have any smile or say anything to us the entire time getting the bill and takeout boxes for our remaining items.
Amazing first time experience. Staff was very friendly and their service was great. Kid friendly, and the food was excellent!
Good food. Lots of table. No wait time for a table at Sunday noon.
The dumplings were not the best Ive had and overall the food was expensive for quality. About $100 for two people. One dish that was especially disappointing was the chicken with green onion, no flavour and so oily. The you-tow was also so oily!! Service was friendly.
Nice place. Very spacious. I like that they did not crowd the place to accommodate more customers. Very clean. Their table sanitizers really smelled of alcohol. Food tastes great. Not a lot of choices on the menu but everything tasted great. Traveled over an hour to get here.
Fake Din Tai Fung that is a knock-off of the internationally known Taiwanese restaurant of the same name. Decent, but overpriced Chinese food. They do make pretty good soup dumplings. However, in traditional fashion, the place looks fancy but the paper towels are so thin that they biodegrade on your fingers.
This is not at par to the California and Taiwan branches especially the rexture and taste of the dumplings. The same goes to the taste of the chicken soup and fried rice. It is expensive too and not worth going back to. Kid-friendliness: Staff is fine with kids
Echoing many of the reviews, we loved the soup dumplings. The noodles themselves were also yummy (the beef in it was so so). The sticky rice roll was not very good, tasted stale and nothing special. We will go back to try other food that looked delicious. a bit of wait time and felt the service was decent.
Its still satisfying to eat at Din Tai Fung in Toronto, great service and lots of space!
Love their soup dumplings!
Huge interior. But, the Siu Lung Bao was cold. Had to send it back to the kitchen. Food was not okay at all. One of the worst experience.
Fake Din Tai Fung, a big quality difference
Clean, spacious restaurant. There s also a location at First Markham Place but this one is at Brimley and Huntingwood. Staff are friendly and attentive and the menu is pretty extensive. Cash payments get 10% off. We ordered: Fried Shanghai-Style Sauté Noodles w/ Shrimp Hot and sour soup Spicy won tons Jelly Fish w/ Shredded Turnip Cold Soy milk Deep fried Chinese donut sticks Green Onion Pancake Fried rice Steamed Soup Dumplings w/ Pork Filling (Xiao Long Bao) (6) Red Bean Paste Pie Fried tentacles Chicken w/ Green Onion Half) Stir-Fried Bean Leaves w/ Garlic Pan Fried Pork & Chive Pops Pork w/ Sweet & Sour Sauce The fried Shanghai noodles want good but the rest of the dishes are good.
can t recommend this place enough! servers are always quick to pick up your dishes after you eat, waiting on guard as soon as you re done with them. food was delicious tons of options for dim sum, i d recommend the pork and scallop soup dumplings! there is no wait upon arrival (both times i visited was around 5:30 pm) and the restaurant is spacious and very clean. the best dim sum place ever!
Food is amazing. Their soup dumplings, and shrimp pork sui mai are awesome. It doesnt seem busy when we went for dinner and the staff is really kind!
Food is so so. Service is close to none. Servers always chit chatting or looking anywhere but at the customer. Spacious and clean are the only good things I can say, not coming back
This restaurant is fake. Real Din Tai Fung does not have locations in Canada
Good food, good service, definitely check it out! 4.5 stars! Food
The soup dumplings are our go to including the Shanghai noodles in soup or dry, onion pancakes, pan fried pancakes and other Shanghai dim sum. A very tasty lunch!
Food and service are 12/10! Honestly so impressed with the quality of everything we got. Huge fan of the Shanghai dumplings, spicy & sour soup, green beans w/ minced pork! And the XLB was pretty great too. I need to bring my friends here next...
Very very authentic food, awesome atmosphere, great severs, and very accommodating. 100% will go again.
Pretty good but expensive, service OK
The snow pea leaves with king oyster mushrooms were exceptional and I could just eat that for a meal. I love snow pea leaves so much!
The dining hall is spacious and clean. Food are delicious and authentic, if you know what to order. Price are average, not too pricey. Service is excellent! The servers we encountered were genuinely caring for their customers. Ample parking.
Great tasting Shanghai dishes. Do try the soup filled dumplings. Great service and lots of space between tables. Great alternative if Grandeur Palace is full even though the cuisine is different. There is a window to look into the kitchen where you can see the dumplings and other dishes being worked on. Parking can be scarce when the mall is busy. There is also a large Chinese grocery store in the same mall. Parking: The mall gets busy on weekends and around lunch times.
Fake Brand. Dont go. Sang-Ji or done totally wrong.
Admittedly the atmosphere is okay. At least toilet is clean. And the serve is fast so no complaint of that. The restaurant is a fake brand. I am from Australia. I have been to the real DTF. The real DTF has colourful xiaolong as one of their signature dish. Fake ones don t. The menu is fake. Of course. Most of the food are okay. I can tell they hired a cantonese chef because the dishes taste like Cantonese cuisine. However, the sangji (fried bao) is totally wrong. It s nothing to resemble an authentic Shanghai Sangji. It s done wrong and not even look like Sangji at all. picture 1 is what a Sangji is supposed to look like and picture 2 is the ones taken in this fake Ding Tai Feng. The bun is too oily and filling very small with no flavour. The skin is too thick. They basically pan grilled a meat bun and call it a Sangji. I am really disappointed. Faking a brand is wrong already, wrong way of cooking takes it to a new level of wrongness. Shame. Will never go back again.
Not to be confused with the famous chain. Good dim-sums, one of the better places in GTA
This Ding Tai Fung location is very good compared to the one in Markham. The AC here is very strong so bring a jacket. All the standard dishes from the soup dumplings and noodles are very good.
not as good as before
Good food and service.
Food is good here. I love their dan dan noodles. It s tastes like noodles in peanut butter soup and it s not too spicy. The soup dumpling is also delicious and very juicy. The service would have been more acceptable if the waitress didn t remind us that tip is not included . The location is very convenient as I can hit the dollarama and grocery store right after. Overall a decent experience.
Din Tai Fung is so amazing like insanely good, every dish with chives was a 10/10 and the soup dumpling were amazing. The service was fast and the whole experience was very enjoyable. No doubt about it definitely 5 stars!
Selected the dim sum choices for dinner. Decent food but quite pricy. But perhaps expected for an internationally recognized restaurant chain. I probably wont return as I dont think it was a good deal, and theres better dim sum elsewhere. However if you like siu long bau, then this is the place to get it.
Everything we ordered was very well made and presented. It is comparable to the Markham location. Food came out in a timely manner, servers were attentive and polite. Would come back again!
Had an pretty bad takeout experience. Been here to dine in a few times and recalled it was decent. So maybe just takeout is absolutely no good. Ordered 7 dishes takeout ranging from dumplings, noodles, soup, snacks. The dumplings were good, but as expected given premium price point. The hot and sour soup was meh, would not order again. Rice cake, and two noodles was where the problems at. Flavorless and lacking meat. Look at the noodles.....its all noodles and theyre clumped up Quite disappointed. Felt like it was money wasted. 1 star, would not repeat, do no recommend takeout
Parking may be difficult to find during the weekends. The food was excellent, all made fresh.
Visited this place recently just for the hype that it has over tiktok so wanted to try it once. Dumplings and wonton were really good but the soup noodles were really average . Ambience: too loud and too noisy. Not my thing.
The pan fried bun is so terrible, it s like an overnight stream bun , put it on the fried pan to cook a little & bring to the table. Inside is full of Fats , so lt looks like it s soup. It tastes so gross. When we asked the server for extra napkins (because of the running fats) The server just like throw them to us. So disappointed.
Authentic shanghai food, nice ambiences.
The steamed Soup Dumplings were very good. The Souffle Balls stuffed with Sesame Paste were the best. Usually other restaurants only provide the ones with red bean paste. Only this one that I found could provide with sesame paste. So.....good.
Didn t taste good at all - I m from Taiwan and I had the og brand and honestly the two stores in Toronto are a bad knockoff. Shame on them for slandering the original brand and getting away with law loopholes.
The restaurant is spacious and has a nice decor, but the food was quite average. I m not sure i want to come back as there is nothing really special about the restaurant. The AC was turned on high, so better bring a jacket.
Good food and huge portions!!!
Love the food here. Service is ok... some staff are nice while some are less friendly.
24 yuan for two braised lion heads
We went there around 1pm in a Saturday. It is not crowded and still lots of tables available. We ordered some dimsum. The dimsum we had are pretty ordinary. The prices are too much for what they offer. Condiments like soy sauce which is a Chinese staple is not on the table. We have to ask for it. Service is the same as any other restaurant. Nothing special. Upon payment. They offered a 10% discount if you pay cash and so I did with tip. They insisted that tip cannot be less than 12%. I always thought that tipping is never mandatory. If you cannot survive from the wages you earn from your work, then look for something else or talk to your manager and ask for a raise. If you need a better career with higher pay, go back to school and learn a skill or become a professional. The food they serve should be enough to pay their wages as their food is not cheap. I left a tip the first time and I believe it was a fair amount from the service they provided. I won t go back there again and would not recommend it.
This restaurant has good food. Price 120cad/4 people. Toilets are clean.
Literally everything is so good, I dont regret ordering one thing! The spicy wontons are super flavorful with the vinegar, and the beef noodle soup, dont even get me started. It was so delicious, and a must order on the menu. And who can forget the Xiao Long Bao? Another must order, probably the best soup dumplings Ive ever had. 10/10 Wheelchair accessibility: A lot of room to move around.
Came for lunch and it didnt disappoint. The three mug chicken is very tasty but it will take a bit of preparation time. The daikon fried cake is also very good. Beef tendon noodles has very QQ bouncy noodles and lots of tendons. They offer 10% discount on cash payment
It is true to the original restaurant in Taiwan. Best things are tge steamed dumplings and spring onion pancakes. Utterly scrumptious.
Very clean place and service is fast.
Food was alright, if you don t tip more then 30% don t bother going they will stop you and ask for a tip in cash unprofessional. Never had anyone stop me for tipping 25% they think it s not enough for 2 people.
Everything is great & the staff is very helpful.
Got there early around 4pm. No wait time. great food, can t ask more.
We tried this Ding Tai Fung for a couple times before, but this time was quite disappointing us. Somehow, we ordered several different tastes of xiao long bao, but they were not as good as we had before. Green onion pancake was still nice, it was the best MVP today. Their environment is clean and tidy as usual, and their service is great nothing to complain. We love they do offer such big tables for a big group like 8 people or more. Btw, Ding Tai Fung here is not the same one from Taiwan, they are different company different group, I saw a large number of people are confused, just don t mess up. :) Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dumplings Parking: Free parking spots Kid-friendliness: High chair provided.
My first time here for dim sum was fabulous - the food was EXCELLENT and the servers were pleasant and helpful, although it was hard to get their attention at times. The chicken corn soup (a favourite of mine) was superb and the spicy wonton dish was to DIE for; I ll definitely be coming back for these and more! The restaurant is large, we showed up around 1pm on a Sunday and didn t have to wait for a table. There was also ample parking.
I dont eat shanghainese food too often but my friend wanted me to try. The menu was only in Chinese, perhaps I couldve asked for one in English as well. The price is a bit higher than I would prefer. Our bill came to $60 + tax and tip for 2 people (and leftovers). The food feels a bit heavy and oily and unfortunately the daan daan noodles could only be eaten fresh (the leftovers tasted like pure oil and salt). The inside of the restaurant is nice, bright and open. I would not oppose to returning here but I would not choose it. Could be that shanghai food is just not my cup of tea.
This is not the real Taiwanese DTF. The real Taiwanese DTF is spelled DIN Tai Fung, not DING TaI Fung. There s only one real DIN Tai Fung in Canada, it s in Vancouver. The taste and everything is different!! Don t be fooled!
A nice restaurant serving Shanghai delicious food. Shao Long Bao was very good. All other dishes are good too. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Servers are friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
This is my go to place for Shanghai food. I like this location more than the Markham one. Its way more comfortable and service is better. Always great food and service. They appear to have redecorated a bit. The only issue I have is that it was cold in the restaurant. It was uncomfortable it made the food cold.
Excellent! Soup dumplings and beef tendon soup highly recommended.
My favorite dim sum place. FOOD: Shanghai wonton w/ spicy soup: Im in love with this, spicy but not too spicy. It goes very well with noodles. Braised beef noodles in soup: huge portion, lots of noodles and beef, the broth made from braised beef soup was amazing. SERVICE: this location has much better service than the other location as the place is almost empty, even at meal time. VIBE: bright, very clean and quiet.
The soup dumplings are delicious!
