FV Foods Catering is a solid 5 stars! Family and friends mentioned how wonderful the setting looked and how the food tasted. If you're getting married give FV Foods a try!
If you like Southern Authentic Filipino Cuisine, this is the place to throw your party.
Filipinos are known for their hospitality, kindness and overall positive attitude. FV food staff (Lawrence location) is exactly the opposite of that. Trying to buy food, no help at all. Trying to buy items from their store, no patience to help. Trying to ask questions, if you cant get help from the first 2, I shouldn't be surprised for not getting any assistance for the last thing. Not sure what happened to you, FV Foods. You were once a great place to visit and buy stuff. Not anymore. I'd rather take my business and ensure all my fellow Filipino friends and family goes to elsewhere. Pathetic.
Ordered some catering food: puto tray, beef caldereta, menudo, Laing, bikoy with latik and dinakdakan. I am not happy with puto, it was dry and seems old. Laing did not have any fish or even pork very plain, menudo had so much vegetables and they were cut in huge portion. Bikoy did not have latik. Dinakdakan was good.
Lots of space, and not very crowded either. Good pansit too. I'd only suggest, if you dine-in, to make sure when you ask for a to-go box they put all of what you paid for inside of the box. Otherwise you will get less of it.
The food quality is lacking. There is an overabundance of rice, and the taste of corn starch marination is noticeable in most of their dishes. While it's commendable that they participate in and support community events like the Taste of Lawrence, they need to improve their food quality to meet higher standards.
I am very upset and disappointed with this place. My boyfriend got me some food from here and I noticed that they only do two scoops of meat instead of filling it up like other establishments do. The price is $12 for this plate and does not reflect a proportionate ratio of meat to rice. It is way to expensive for the little amount that they give you, I honestly feel scammed. Do better or people will take their business to other restaurants.
This is the closest FV foods in my area and I love coming here specifically for the hot food section! Their must-try’s are the Laing and their Lechon Kawali! Came by around the afternoon, they’re never really busy because customers usually come and go, and their service was okay, the food was great, and the products they sell vary between frozen Filipino goods and specialties like snacks, Filipino-imported products, and their very extensive bakery items! One down side is that inflation affected most of their products as well and it pretty expensive, but nonetheless, its worth it. Would recommend this location!
delicious food .
The Ube Halaya was crazy sweet, its like not much Ube and theyre fillling it up with too much sugar, I didnt enjoyed that, what happened??
Not worth it.
Disappointed with the snacks I bought : taho with sago was thawed from frozen, karioka brown sugar coating was burnt which made it bitter and the 2 sylvannas we bought had to be thrown out because they were too perfumy like dryer sheets.
Humble Turons for a premium price
Do not go on without eating their dinuguan!
If you crave for Filipino food. This is the place to go in Toronto. The best pancit and lumpiang gulay in the GTA!
Awesom Filipino food. Turon with langka is probably one of their best food. The chicken empanada is also something to look at when you visit them
Very friendly faces and amazing food! Definitely recommended trying you ll be in for a treat
It was lunch time , and I cannot pick some that I like I ended up getting only what they have . I don t know , if the meats sitting on the tray is ..reheated ? because the colours are different Since , I know how to cook I cannot stop myself compares . And mine is better . The pork belly is not good .And im afraid the vegetable I got is too sour . Hope ..they will have a saying good food cooks good food . Your food is not good that day ..maybe some other day it will ..delicious on some point .. Maybe the weekday food lunch is differ to Weekends ? Still we talk about quality food here for paying the right price .
Ignored by all the staff. Tried calling someone, no response. I left. They were well aware of my presence.
Excellent service and a great place to have functions . Also , the catering menu is excellent , traditional Filipino dishes and sweets.
Bought adobong mani with FV brand from Seafood City this past Friday. Tried it when we got to the hotel. It wasnt good. It tasted very bland and needed more salt. Maybe the way it was cooked also. Bought UBE CAKE this past Saturday to bring to a dinner, it tasted just okay. I like the spongeness but I was looking for more of the ube taste, didnt get it. The next day we went to the FV food store and catering off Lawrence again to bring goodies back to Ottawa. I saw another adobong mani but this time they had a spicy one. I decided to give it another try. They didnt have it in a smaller package so I bought one. We also got cheese bread, fresh hopia and siopao. Cheese bread was good and hopia were yummy. The SPICY ADOBONG MANI however was a huge disappointment! To think we brought all the way back to Ottawa. It was supposed to be spicy but it was not spicy at all. They did put some dried red chilis in it but it didnt do anything. We paid $8.99 for it... The 4 pcs of CHICKEN SIOPAO were $11. This one was a waste of money as well. Too much bread and it was dry with little filling. My children even complained (They know siopao coz I make them too!). The filling was just sweetened chicken and didnt taste like asado. STAY AWAY FROM: ADOBONG MANI, CHICKEN SIOPAO Buy: hopia, cheese bread
Amazing hot food and Filipino convenience grocery. Great selection of fried treats, BBQ and hot dishes. Will definitely visit again
@Mel Galleon. My complain is the Lumpiang Sariwa sauce container. I like the taste of the sauce. That is why I keep on coming back. I can understand the price went up. The size of lumpia is big which is good. But the size of the tiny container of the sauce is so small, very little sauce for the size of the lumpia. Why not add more sauce and I will be happy. Thank you.
Bought 2 items yesterday: The driest puto ever, it was dry and obviously stale!! The chicken empanada was also dry. The food quality here has significant gone down. Waste of money.
My husband bought rellenong bangus for christmas but we are disappointed coz it tasted watery and disgusting and it ruined our appetite. Reading some of the comments here its true that their breads and cakes are moldy and expired and am talking here thru experience from the past. We will never ever buy their products again.
known across canada with their authentic filipino foods. fv foods bakery products are also distributed on most local supermarkets in many locations. they can also be found on summer festivals across ontario. fv foods is also a generous sponsor of meaningful community events. the owner, mel galeon served hot foods during the height of the pandemic for the frontline workers in toronto. visit their locations in lawrence avenue, toronto. they also have a space for special events and they cater for your events too.
Great place for small gathering. Good food & Service.
First and foremost, the quality of the food was exceptional. Everything from their savory dishes to their delectable desserts was prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. Each bite was bursting with flavor and left me feeling satisfied and content. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional customer service. The staff at FV Foods were incredibly friendly and accommodating, taking the time to answer all of my questions and make recommendations based on my preferences. They went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was enjoyable and stress-free. I also appreciated the variety of options available at FV Foods. Whether I was in the mood for traditional Filipino cuisine or something with a modern twist, they had something to suit my tastes. And with their convenient online ordering system, it was easy to browse their menu and place my order from the comfort of my own home. Overall, I would highly recommend FV Foods to anyone looking for delicious, high-quality food and exceptional customer service. As a father, I appreciate the convenience and ease of ordering from FV Foods, and I am confident that others will feel the same.
Super sugary Brioche, not healthy!
Quality of stuff have gone down and the prices have gone up.
The food is dry and not what I expected.
All food are good. The Service are good too. Environment is very nice. Vegetarian options: They offer vegetables too Parking: If FV is full, yes Parking could d Be a problem.
My friend Pablo took me for a bite there n the food was amazing, home make style cooking with delicious dishes n the service very friendly, i definitely recomend this restaurant
Fantastic place for take out food very delicious
Interesting treats
Its a great Filipino restaurant to have your gathering of around 50 to 70 guests. It might be hard though if you want to include dancing. Food was delish Service was superb. Thanks to Madyn, Val and Rem. Of course to their wonderful boss, Mel.
Mel always serves delicious and authentic flavours
Been coming to this place for years and this is one of the many times weve been treated badly by the same certain staff, specifically a lady employee who, seems to keep telling me to wait on the side despite me being ready to pay each time. The last time I allowed this to happen, I was ready to pay for a birthday cake for my mothers 88th. She had told me to wait on the side while she proceeds to accommodate the people who dined in the restaurant and also have a good chat with them, making me wait for about a half an hour or more. But since I came a long way from home, I patiently waited until they were done. Today, it happened for the second time where I had finished ordering my food, ready to pay, and she comes out of the kitchen and with an angry look, rudely tells me to stand on the side /again/ in order to let the next person check out. Having no idea whats happening at the cash, she has the audacity to just tell me to wait again without even asking. As this was the second time shes dealt with me this way, it was much worse because she was undeniably rude for no reason. Its quite frustrating and disappointing having to deal with such attitude, and I would not recommend this place. The second incident happened Friday, July 14th 7pm.
Leche flan is so hard and not good! They gave me pork bbq! i asked for chicken! Worst in everything from service to food!
An icon of Filipino food and hospitality
Good service on restaurant side. Typical selection of Asian products on grocery side. Food
No frills Thursday Bought breads last Thursday. Molds 6 milk bread tasty bread beware fv foods best before date not but they are mold in tasty bread that my Tummy hurt in morning
Visiting Toronto is another story, and explore each areas is another story and we were hungry looking for restaurant and we came across this Filipino Restaurant and grocery store , we came during the weekdays and not much. People around and beside it s 3 pm when we came and eat, There s not much varieties mostly. Meat and less vegetables but that didn t deter me not to eat. So we ordered Lechon kawale - deep fried pork belly, Beef steak, adobo chicken, egg roll, and Pancit. lug lug and also ordered Halo-Halo Desert it s an ice shave mixed with. Lots of good stuff, and I d say that it is not too bad, you should try it if you are visiting Toronto
The prices are a bit expensive
Great food but very expensive even takeout twice the cost of certain items from other restaurants with the same foods
Decent event space with good Filipino food
Very nice place
Good service
I bought these today, ate them in the dark, and couldnt finish because of their strange taste. Upon returning home, I discovered they were moldy. Selling expired food is truly disgusting.
Buko pie has molds in it. Didnt expect it from one of the famous Filipino restaurant/store here in Toronto. We called them to ask if they can resolve the problem or what but they only gave us one answer na they cant do anything kasi wala daw po yung manager nila. I just hope the Toronto Public health will conduct a surprise visit to check all their products because clearly they cant do it by themselves. Now we also have doubts to eat the lechon kawali that we ordered thru uber eats together with the buko pie lol. So dissapointing and Disgusting!!!!!
Parking is on a lucky strike. Foods are always expensive but if one loves Filipino foods, this is one of the places to visit. All the prepared foods are good to look at and okay. Their halo-halo is good. Recommended dishes
Ordered buko pie when we opened it as soon as it delivered MOLD is smiling at us.FV foods scarborough please check the life shelves of your stocks. We paid the right amount but you put the life of customers to risk.People be aware of buying and ordering foods here.
I thought of supporting Pilipino business but everytime I try some of their bake stuff I always get disappointed. This time their ensaymada with ube. It doesnt taste like authentic ensaymada. It taste only like ordinary bread spread with margarine and sugar and with small amount of ube (not sure if its real ube). Price is not cheap either.
Good selection but don t make the mistake of paying with an American Express card. Despite the signage of acceptance on the door and the acceptance of the charge on their terminal, they will go out of their way to make you wait while they phone tech support to refund the charge and compel you to use a different method of payment. I can understand Amex s higher fees, and I don t want to opine on how you should conduct business, but a slightly lower amount of net income is better than your customers deciding not to come back.
Their pastries/sweets are decent and are reasonably priced. I like the siopao as well. However, their hot meals are mediocre at best. I had their Laing and Lechon paksiw. The meat in the lechon paksiw was very tough, I couldn t eat it even though I was chewing hard, and their Laing was terrible. The pork bbq was good. Overall, I would not recommend this place for Filipino (hot) meals.
Christmas 2021 I ordered $35.00 Small Pancit Canton for media noche, very salty, sahog-very scarce, even the veggies were also very scarce. our family friend also said it was salty, embarrassing. I m sorry to say we garbaged most of it. At least the Fiesta Ham was good as well as the pork embotido.
Some food are expensive and expired. I told the cashier that they should remove the expired ones but she ignored me and gave some rude comments. Not enough parking space. Lastly, very very expensive in terms of pricing. 1 star is over-rated.
If you like really sugary coated turon, this is the place to get them. Its especially the best when its fresh and warm. Lots of selections and good prices.
There location before I warden bought Bbq fly egg between middle pork never come back again last time bought bread Pandesal ready Mods something so given up costumes service some people rude and there is people nice Expired bread
tried to inquire for a dessert platter on the weekday and the person who answered was rude, and wouldn t make an effort to tell me when they would be available and immediately hung up
My go to spot for Halo Halo !
A small Filipino grocery store with a restaurant and take-out food counter. Nice selection of Filipino sauces, noodles, bakery goods and ready made foods.
Great food, great service, affordable.
Update: so got home to try the flan we just bought at FV food and it had bacterial mold on it :( stick says aleays fresh apparently not....and not very happy!!!! I do not live closeby otherwise would have returned and asked for my money-back :( but not worth the trip and probably wont be returning again Sunday Easter lunch with friends. Fresh buffet style for Easter lunch and a special buffet due to Torontos first Pinoy Food month celebration. Decent selection of pinoy foods to try. Took someone whose never tried a variety of Pinoy dishes and liked them all. From adobo, lechon and bbq pork on a stick. No vegetable selection at all or even a salad in sight. Would have been nice to have had some veges or salad. Small selection of cassava cakes, to sticky rice and but sadly no Leche flan. So we bought one to go. Doubles as a pinoy food shop as well as a restaurant. As the food was made fresh and brought out I was happy as the place seemed to only have 1 or 2 star reviews for it not being so fresh and on the pricey side. Buffet was a little pricey at 30$ but we enjoyed ourself.
Great food selection and fantastic spot to host small events!
Food taste good but now the prices went up.
Great food! Staff are friendly and there is place to dine as well.
Left over food
Do NOT trust dates on packaged food. It has not reached best before date yet, and it has AGED mold. Absolutely terrible and disgusting.
Good
Food was great!, Reasonable price and the staff was very accommodating. Thanks Madyn and Mel. We enjoy the night of boodle fight.
I don t like the salesman not friendly and their food arrangements are not good, they mix up the pork, and chicken , etc. The Halo-Halo was so sweet, if you are diabetic you will ended up in hospital if you order from them. The price is so expensive. I don t really like to buy their products NOT recommended.
Worst place to go. The owner would rather practice tiktoks than help customers infront of him.
Good and delicious Filipino foods.
Dont buy Karekare watch out they put bone and fats thats upposed to be thrown away.. Not to be included with the food.plus you paid 10 dollars it should be quality food.
It s always a joy to dine at this place. As someone who has high standards with food especially Filipino cuisine, FV always satisfies us. Legit and excellent flavor, tender meat and big portions. Thank you!
Amazing display of talent, culture and food.
Nice and clean
Massively over priced. $113.00 for four dishes that were dry and unappetizing. I lived in the Philippines for many years and had better food (and far less expensive from local vendors) Unfriendly service too! I thought that Filipinos were nice?
We celebrated our aunts 75th birthday here and we had a blast. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Highly recommended! Thank you FV it was absolutely a night to remember.
Great food and atmosphere when its not busy
The Filipino stores you need, everything is there when it comes to filipino foods. It deserves really a five star..
Filipino dishes
Cool
I went there for lunch, I can smell that the food is old, I ate half of it after 30 mins I threw up because of the after taste and my stomach keep sounding and feeling uncomfortable.
Beware - No social distancing here when busy during COVID lockdown! Other than that, good place to get hot Filipino dishes and common bakery items. My rating is solely due to the lack of social distancing
Expensive. Food are not great. I bought bbq before and its very tough. Maybe its from previous days or left overs.
Bad experienced! Thats why am hesitant to buy their food the way it its so oooldd like a leftover that they didnt sell from the other day. WHEN I TRY TO BITE THE TURON I ALMOST CHIP MY TOOTH ITS SO HARD AND THE BBQ IS WORST ALSO! Sorry but am not coming back.
Very bad customer service . Product has no expiration date. They sell food that has mould. Its time for health Canada agency to audit them.
Terrible customer service. They barely made eye contact and were rude the entire interaction. Very disappointing since I drove more than an hour there and back to buy their food. The two stars is for the palabok and the Lechon that were tasty. However I noticed one of the Leche flan in the fridge had mold on it so I didn t buy it. Kutchinta, one of the desserts started sticking to the paper plate that it was on and the plastic wrap was barely covering the food. Don t think I want to give these people my business in the future as they clearly don t care about their customers and are not up to standards. Also there was ZERO social distancing, the customers kept walking up to me so closely in line.
I only go here when Im in the area. Food is good and consistent every time.
Great food and amazing service.
always looking forward to every visit looks like youre in the Philippines too. 5 stars for crispy sisig, my order always
Great place to eat some flavorful Philippino food. The portions are not so big for the price but they are tasty. When ordering Philippino cuisine in other places they give you lots of food for a great price because it is easy to make. Anyways no complaints about the quality and the taste. Good spot to get a Philippino fix.
Excellent Filipino food and good customer service
Dont buy the karyoka/ karioka at this place...its taste bitter because the sugar coating got burnt... no quality control/ taste...they should taste everything they make before putting it on display because people usually eat it when they get home and they cant return it.
An excellent place to go to when in dire craving for Pinoy dishes. This is a great place to buy imported groceries from the Philippines along with the restaurant that boast all the goodies and Filipino dishes we all love to eat.
Fresh daily, and sooooo many options!! My Mom cant stop taking about the fresh lumpia and how the wrapper is just perfect! Too many desserts to choose from. Will have to try them little by little with each visit!
They have cheap serving. Everything there is expensive not worth of money to buy.. cant serve properly
I go to this branch once in a while, I find the product is a little pricey. I like the pandesal, you can get it warm, sometimes you can get it hot. I waited for 5 minutes expecting to get a hot one, but it came out warm. The hopia, baboy is my favorite, but today, the crust is hard that when you take a bite feels like old, though the filling is soft, (the way it should be). Other than that, the experience is
Good selections, tasty, and prices are competitive. Free parking but only outdoor patio seating
Got sick from the food. Won t be going back.
Great place with fresh food and good service. Love coming here and trying out all the different ways beef, chicken and fish is cooked. Used the patio today. Look forward to dinning inside again.
Their turon are tasty. Can be pricey, but Filipino food basically are, say compared to Chinese food. Food variety can be added and switched around every so often.
Tried their empanadas, BBQ pork, and a sour calamansi drink. Tasty and relatively inexpensive
Food is always delicious. There s a reason why they re busy! Mel runs a great place and the staff is so friendly. I may not be pinoy but tbh eh help me to know what my options are and I m never disappointed.
Great foods and great activities.
Panada beef pork chicken ready to go. Very nice hot table
Very satisfied to all kinds of Food. Super yummy to tummy ..Thank you FV Food God bless you abundantly (insert Gemma Pascual for inviting us for the Appreciation event God Bless)
Fried Chicken on Garlic Fried Rice!! Thats all I got to say. . . Youre welcome.
I visit this place here and there and all I got to say is out of all the Filipino restaurants around Toronto, FV foods is the most stingy with their food portions. I ordered a 1 dish meal and had the sweet and sour chicken on rice. The young lady took a small container and only put 3 small pieces of chicken which makes no sense, I had still had a good amount of rice left. You can order 1 dish - 2 BBQ skewers for the same price. Keep the ratio balance guys.
Delicious Filipino food and groceries with amazing service. I always recommend FV Foods
Great local spot!
It not good mised order .have to come back pickup later.no meat only get noodles.
The male server at the party on Dec 04,2021 should be recognized for his hard work! Thank you
Its hit n miss lately with this place.
The quality of food is below par compared to stores offering Filipino cuisine. Overpriced disgusting food. Small container for takeaway is considered medium which is ridiculous to the price they charge. The attitude of the service staff makes you leave the store without purchasing anything, not exaggerating at all as I have worked in hotels and restaurants for 14 years. I wouldn t recommend this store to anyone cause of multiple visits and same outcome. Tagpuan at Kennedy and Jesse Jr at Lawrence and Kennedy are way better as quality of food and service is much more superior.
Cheap place to get ok filipino food. Have to give 1 star for the guy serving food, but coughing up a storm during COVID times. Not sure why but he takes off his mask while walking around the store and still coughing. Maybe he was getting a glass of water? I dont know. I dropped the stuff I was going to buy and left. I want to support my fellow filipinos, but not after that. Please dont go here for safetys sake.
Great Filipino food. Amazing family meals. Always get the chicken/pork skewers for $3 dollars.
Great selection of Filipino food and sweets. Affordable prices. Plenty of parking. Clean and bright space.
My go-to place for Filipino food
I love their lechon kawali.
Hi! I bought a banana that was soft and not cooked. No one answers the phone, I would like to complain about the broken banana. For customers, lets just cook at home instead of eating bad food.
Good service people do friendly
I bought laing and its so salty! very disappointed. The price is expensive for a simple laing with no other ingredients, ( no meat or shrimp or any dried fish) They told me the minimum total must be 10.00 otherwise, they will charge for a fee... wait...WHAT?? really?? This is the first time I experienced this. Anyway, I bought more items just to make it to more than 10.00 dollars. A message to the cook: please taste the food and make sure it taste good before putting it outside to sell. Thank you.
Just getting familiar. Love it. Great food!
Their buko pie isn t buko. It s macapuno filling, literally from the jar. It s not what you re expecting. It was disappointing :/ same with their yema cake. Don t buy.
Worse palabok i ever had in my life .no meat no shrimp, just sauce . Very expensive not Recommended.
Their turon, hot pandesal, barbecue, lechon kawali, suman, fresh lumpia are to die for. Pinakbet, palabok, kare- kare, all desserts also good. Mini grocery of goodies. Cafe area still needs upgrade to No.Am standards. Utensils need major upgrade! Clean place. Friendly, helpful, efficient staff.
The worst ube cake I ever tasted. If I could give no star I will do. It s always a waste of money everytime I go to this bakery. I thought they improved because of the expansion of the bakery and they put a lot of branches but I was wrong but again I wasted my money for the second time. Never go back to this FV bakery ever again.
Lawrence/Warden Great asian cuisine. Good food to choose from different variety. Parking is good. Try them one day.
I really want to give 4 or 5 star but it feels like theres something missing. Maybe seeing the drying noodles on the counter or the food I brought home that are hardened or next day molded. The venue is pretty...but they shouldnt made us feel hurried to get out if they need to use it ( should have warned us that they will use our table soon ). Pros: the party venue is beautifully decorated with paper flowers . -variety of cakes and sweets - many choices of preperared Pinoy food and popular grocery items. -newer slab table is my fave -high ceiling -fast service Cons: the free broth is basic and tasteless ..always taste days old. -no fountain of water ( important! ) to take own drink. - it is not a warm customer service. - menu combo set doesnt include drink
female staff was nice ...the male staff werent very friendly
Food is tasty good for a quick bite.
Super clean and organized! I love all their food
Delicious filipino food!
FV food is always good. Ive grown to love Filipino food. The guys here are very personable.
Please update your working week day hours. We went there tonight coz it says online the store closes at 8:30, we got there at 8:PM and the store was already closed. Very disappointing because I was craving for some filipino dessert badly as I am pregnant and just to find out that it s closed. We drove for 35mins and end up getting nothing.
Very neat place. Family oriented. Wouldve been 5 star but the food arent as tasty and authentic. Very, very pricey.
We used to frequent this place but not anymore. The quality of food is below par and overpriced. Bought ube cake and mango cake several times and all the time half of the cake were just covered with icing and you cannot taste the ube or mango. The attitude of the employees are disgusting. Worst customer service. I don t recommend this place. We ve been going to Jesse Jr at Lawrence and Kennedy for excellent quality Filipino food and outstanding customer service.
Always so tasty. My only suggestion could be that every item onnthe steam tabble could be label, so not philipono person can know what they can order instead of keep asking . But the food is delicious
