We booked here for a family event. They have a basement where you can have boodle / kamayan with friends and comes with Karaoke. Standout in the meal was the chicken. The first floor has turo-turo as well as Filipino snacks and beauty products. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The location was in an area that I don’t usually go to but the food was really good. I got myself a kumayan box with the inihaw tilapia but it just doesn’t hit the same when you’re back in the Philippines when it’s fresh and delicious. Either way they have delicious food and I would buy that box. The atmosphere is more of a variety Filipino store rather than a dining restaurant.
Food is good but a higher price point than some others. I wanted just a bit of pusit after ordering a combo2 and suman dessert 🍨 with halo halo but the smallest order is $13. I got it but had to find people to share it with. warning: they don’t remove the spine. A smaller size would have been better obviously. I didn’t need so much food nor spend so much. Clean table. The owner was always cleaning. Something in the halo 2 had a funny taste. It was the melted dessert straw. Update: ordering today, they told us again that the smallest order for pusit was $13. Then we saw someone with a smaller order on the table beside us. I don’t like being lied to. I don’t know if I’ll be going back there anytime soon. They need to be more forthright. There are so many other options in Scarborough
Got takeout dinner for 2. Service was good and friendly. Chicken BBQ and kare kare were delicious. Great portions. Definitely will come back!
The halo halo was refreshing. Not too much of an impact in terms of taste but on a hot summer day I will take it.
Highly recommended spot from Filipino Friends. Used to be called Dabarkads. Now J&J Kapuso Filipino Restaurant.Travelled from Markham to visit. Had the Combo Special of King Fish with Onions, Bread Fruit on Rice, drink included-$13.99. Also purchased container of Biko for $5.99.Total $23.16. Really tasty choices from their buffet. Food is excellent and staff is helpful.
Love their food, always new and nicely seasoned. The servers are accommodating and the service is great! Atmosphere is okay, it’s a small restaurant. Kinda tight esp during lunch time. Parking is available. I live in downtown and I still go to this place. I’m a regular customer since 2021 ♥️ I usually pay for for to-go but Wish they would include “unli-rice” for dine it customers. Lol it’s Filipino restaurant, rice is the star on the menu! Lol
Four of us came and the staff were super friendly and prepared Kamayan with assorted deliciously prepared foods like fish, pork, chicken, chicharron, rice, noodles, fruit, veggies and more. Definitely would come back!
Amazing flavourful Filipino pork with rice and Turon (plantain eggroll)
Very small tiny place and expensive Filipino restaurant
J & J Kapuso Filipino Restaurant in Scarborough has quickly become a favorite of mine, offering a delightful taste of Filipino cuisine. The adobo here is a standout tender meat marinated in a rich, savory sauce that s packed with flavor. Its the kind of dish that warms your soul. Another highlight is their crispy chicken skin, which is simply irresistible. It s perfectly seasoned and makes for a fantastic snack or side. Additionally, their embutido a Filipino meatloaf filled with veggies and hard-boiled eggs delivers a wonderful blend of flavors and textures. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is always friendly, making your dining experience even more enjoyable. If you re looking for authentic Filipino comfort food, J & J Kapuso is definitely worth a visit!
Best chicken skin chicharon! Their Jake in the Box is so good and so affordable, its like a mini budol fight meal in a box.
The meat is sooo tough I could t even chew it, definitely not cooked from today, but likely from yesterday
I bought sisig, and halo halo. The halo halo is good, its not super sweet. But the sisig, when we opened it it has a foul smell.. we didnt risk eating it..
Disappointed the halo-halo has no ube and no ube ice cream. Also not welcoming.
Its better than meeting and cheap. The lady who looks like the owner seems a bit grumpy but their staff is kind
Something new
Its fine..
homey counter food tucked in a convenience store, I love being called my love by the lady at the front :-) we got a combo 1 (one side + pop + soup + rice) & an all day breakfast with two eggs + garlic rice + fried fish for just under $30 cash great prices, debit, cash & etransfer only
What it had going for them was that some time and consideration were taken to set up the places look. The walls were painted. The shelves are stocked with an assortment of Filipino products. There is space available in the basement, which I assume is for functions or other reservations. To get to the washroom, you would have to go through a narrow corridor beside the kitchen area and then climb down the stairs. For the food meals, I was glad that it included some soup, and they also threw in some vegetable sides. We had bitter gourd (ampalaya) with eggs for our veggie side that day. The food in our experience, unfortunately, was underwhelming. Food was taken from those displayed over the counter and was not hot like we wanted. I wish there was an option to heat the food containers in the tray or at least maybe have an option to microwave it or something. I had the sisig, and I could rank it among the best sisig that I have had.
Store closed for 7:30pm I called 7 to order halo halo lady tells me on the phone it s closed already Hours are not accurate or they are just lazy to make it Service
Its a typical Filipino convenience store. There is fast food ready to serve. And groceries. Staff are ok. Lots of parking.
The person who answers the phone is RUDE WILL NOT EVEN COME TO THIS EXPENSIVE STORE
My daughter loves their ginulat and bistek
Pleasantly surprised - many varieties of yummy Filipino dishes & a few tables to dine in. We enjoyed tapsilog and kare kare with garlic rice. 2 lunch combo $28 including taxes. We will be back. Cash or debit only.
Our favorite go-to carenderia with lots of delicious and affordable options.
No good they paksiw na lechon no meat all pig skin and darken the sauce to hide.
Good to have these places around the area.
We recently ate at J & J Kapuso Filipino Restaurant. The reservation was easy to make, and the staff was very helpful in accommodating our special requests. The ambiance was great, and the food really lived up to our expectations. Most diners use paper plates or styrofoam but we are served with fine utensils. We were amazed at how much free food the hospitality was. We highly recommend this restaurant, the food is amazing and the service is incredible.
There are a lot of choices to pick from. They have a huge store and there are some seats inside. The staff are nice and the food is affordable.
I ordered small tray of bihon (vermicelli) at first for $35 and changed it to small tray of miki bihon (vermicelli and egg noodles) which is the only difference in ingredients between the two dishes is the miki bihon has maybe a quarter of egg noodles. Both dishes has only fish balls, carrots, celery, and green beans. I was charged $55 for the small tray of miki bihon. How crazy is that the difference in price is $20 for just a mix of maybe a quarter of the egg noodles??? What a ripped off!!!!
Service was not very accommodating, I was the only customer there after another customer just left and i stood there for 25mins and nobody even acknowledge my presence or asked if i needed help. I ordered kare kare and beefsteak and both meat were very dry and chewy and kare kare had waaaaay too many cartilages and i didnt think the price was worth it for 2 medium dishes cost me $30, we did not enjoy the food due to how difficult it was to slice the meat or even chew it. place was alright seems like a small convenience store very lively
I have a bad experience in this restaurant, they don t give you a receipt when buying, their products has no expiration date and they don t also have price tags so that they just get the price from memory??? I wanted to buy some food items that are packaged but there s no dates whether manufactured or expiration, who knows if they are already expired. The photos show no dates nor price on their peanuts and pork rind chips, I forgot to take photos of other items. They even forgot the main item that I want to buy and have to go back again and lost 40 minutes driving back and forth. Somebody from the Government should check this restaurant and all similar ones.
Tried the boodle fight! Amazing food. Great customer service. Affordable price
Delicious Filipino food, affordable prices and great service.
I ordered 100pcs Shanghai and it was soggy and spoiled. All my guest who tried it said it tasted weird. I had to throw them all, very disappointing! I tried to call them many times to let them know I even messaged on fb but to no one was answering. I will never order here again, not recommended.
The food has an excellent taste.i love the soup specially the chicken sinigan.lets put it these way you wont regret it.i recommended .Im going back.
No doubt they have good food, that s a compliment to the chef. But the owner or the old lady always on the phone! I ve Been in this place 4x and she s always on the phone She over charged me twice because she was chatting on the phone. It s ok if she s taking orders but no! Gossiping while working is not a good thing to show your customers and employees. Not very friendly & accommodating. I went there with a rugged look she wasn t friendly. Then I went after my work looks sophisticated and she actually talked to me and was friendly. Customer service sucks!
Fabulous food, friendly staff and always feel welcomed.
Great food and Filipino hospitality. Comes with bright smiles.
They serve good halo halo and Kare kare dish.
Great place to eat or take out Filipino food.
I ordered via phone large pancit and 100 pieces lumpia for Sunday June 25,2023!!!! Nothing was prepared! I have my call log as an evidence!!! Very inconvenient!!! Will never order here again!!!
We got the boodle fight, 2 boxes. The fish was a whole fish and very big, I also got the BBQ chicken quarter in one box. They were both good. The BBQ skewers were dry. They ran out of garlic rice unfortunately and did not give us that option. No lechon kawali in the box unfortunately. The 3 sauces were tiny and not enough. The mango was crunchy and good. It was busy and packed with people lined up in a small space and with 4 tables to eat on. Crowded for sure, and humid inside as it didnt feel like there was AC. Overall its ok and I likely would go to a different place weve been to a few times.
Good food
Meh, halo halo was good though.
Love the food!!! Super friendly staff!!! Very reasonable prices. Catering is great too. Kid-friendliness: Owners love children!!!
We are from Dubai visiting Toronto, going to our friend house, we saw this J&J Kapuso and decided to give it a try. We ve tried their Kare-Kare, Dinuguan and Famous Best adobo in Toronto. It did not disappoint my taste bud! MASARAP!!! Definitely would recommend. Food
Only recently found this great Filipino restaurant, and since then, we have been coming back. Their food is truly delicious and taste authentic pinoy.
Parking: I never encounter any issues at this eatery love the food. I go to this place once a week Food
Our go-to when you have those nights when you dont feel like cooking. J&Js Kare-Kare is our favourite and we enjoy their Boodle Box Kamayan.
Loved the food and friendly owner
Superb and tasty Filipino foods as I expected and staff was very welcoming. Can t say nothing less but keep up the great vibe. Thank you!
Bad customer service. Doesn t even deserve a single star
Lots to choose on the menu and tastes vibrant and fresh. Best longsilog in the city? Man its good.
Fantastic food and experience so far! Ive placed a couple of large orders and each time, the order was complete and food tasted amazing. Well be returning for sure!
Boodle Fight Combo was so good. So worth it!
Nice food
One of my go-to spots for some Filipino comfort food. Great place for pork or chicken adobo. Pork and chicken skin chicharron. Classic Filipino dishes that you can get as a combo, like if you went to a Filipono family gathering!
Good portion for the right price. Food was good, staff are accommodating.
Been going here for years and grew an attachment to the people working here and food. Must try their boodle fight!
My favorite!!
Food was awesome
Tasty delicious food with all kinds of filipino groceries, desserts and good Chicharon
Love their dinuguan, sisig, and kare-kare! They also have nice filipino desserts!!
Absolutely fine
Delicious Filipino cuisine
Somethings werent seasoned at all. Over cooked meat. They gave us expired seaweed and it tastes so bad! Inside the restaurant food isnt labelled.
The Best Barbeque ever!!
Very nice portion given the price. Ordered the boodle kamayan. Loved the garlic rice, braised beef and the radish. The packaging was very neat with hand-written name of the customer on it. Will visit in person to try the kamayan feast next time!
Ate Beth and her husband was very nice and accommodating. They have good food and their store Philippines product are good price. Definitely recommending this place for people that was visiting the Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Very friendly staff
Nice place
Great location.. food is good.
No fuss, no muss. Good Flip food in a small food market type setting. A few tables and chairs. Take a food adventure away from bacon and eggs and try tapsilog (tapa).
Nothing special. Tried multiple Filipino restaurant but this one I don t see anything reason to comeback. Taste: 4/10 Customer service: 2/10 Place: 5/10 Choices: 7/10 Price: 5/10
Great food for a pretty low price. Got platter 1 was very tasty but didn t get any rice unfortunately. 9/10 10/10 if there was garlic fried rice or any rice in it
Rude and overpriced
Nice, different food u can choose what ever u whant.
We went here to pay SSS through IRemit as we saw that they are an agent. We came around 5pm on November 30 (they said the close at 7:30)but was refused and we were asked to come back the next day only because the person who would have to do it is busy in the kitchen. They said to come back the next day. This is bad customer service and very disrespectful of other people s time. We do not live across the street or just have to walk for 5 minutes to go back again. If serving clients of SSS or Iremit is not their priority or only a choice if they wanted to then they shouldn t be an agent. Not going back there if the food tasted great but the way they treated us is just disrespectful. Refusing to serve a customer just because they are busy is not a valid reason.
Pork intestine
A family member recommended this place so I went and checked this place out since it s actually close to my house and I m about supporting local food industry during this challenging time too. My first time was fine, they have wide selection of Filipino food, they had hand sanitizer right when you come in and they have floor markings to maintain physical distancing, everyone was wearing mask so it felt safe. Came back the second time and I was pretty disappointed and grossed out with what I witnessed. A server was helping me with my orders when one guy from the kitchen casually comes out and helped himself with some food(which is totally fine) but please not when you re not wearing a mask/shield while you re chatting with employees facing the food section. I was ready to leave but I refrained myself coz I felt bad/shy at that time. While paying at the cashier side, I saw another guy in the kitchen not wearing a mask. If customers are required to wear a mask inside the store, shouldn t employees specially kitchen staffs observe the strictest health and safety protocols.I hope this helps you improve your service.
Unorganized and did not acknowledge customers coming. Broke protocol by having more than 20 customers in one diner. They did not enforce safety. Even if its the holidays, at least have some one who can take charge to make this experience better.
I ordered around noon for 7pm pickup but when I arrived for pick up it wasnt even started yet. I waited outside while they cook it, said they will call me. After an hour I checked inside and the old lady gave my order to somebody else and forgot to cook a new one for me.What a new year bummer! Also their Chicken BBQ leg is 7.99 each. Kinda pricey! Almost worth as whole BBQ chicken in Walmart and Metro.
Cheap delicious food. 5/5
Love this place even before the remodeling. Joy is wonderful, very courteous, friendly and professional. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the place.
Good Filipino restaurant
The Kamayan at this place are amazing!! So much food and at such a great value! Love love love it!
Excellent food options. This is one of their boodle boxes and it had so many different items - perfect for dinner.
Hello, I called yesterday I ordered 6 boxes of Boodlefight for Sunday (today, 3pm) after asking my phone nos the lady hang me up. Been calling now for more than 10 times no one is getting my call. I just want to know if you can deliver it or not. Thanks. Updates: After talking to them I cancelled my order cause the lady named, Joy blamed me (with loud and high pitch voice) for not telling my order is for Delivery. I told her if she asked me about it I should told her that but she hang me up without asking anything just my name and mobile nos. She said I should called them back and it s my responsibility to do that. Seriously? I miss the warm, well mannered and accomodating staff of D Barkadz.
Food was typical filipino, taste was okay. But the girl with the eye glasses at the counter was dramatically rude, needs a little coaching in customer service or else, just get out. Gotta remember, there are other filipino restaurant that offers delicious foods & have a great staff. I will not recommend this place.
Food tastes very good. Also alot of quantity. Will definitely go back again.
Very good food from this restaurant! Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they complained several times that I didnt call ahead to order the pancit and chicken fried rice, but instead opted to order there and wait for it. Never said it was a rush, 20 min wait was ok for me Pancit canton - not the best Ive had, but still good Pulutan box - really good and decent price $20 Chicken fried rice - also good BBQ pork sticks - so yummy for $3/stick
You can now purchase @carengcatering Pickled Singkamas
Good portion sizes. Good service. Always flavourful. If theres any problem with the order, they always followup.
The food are excellent But the owner and Joy must have massive customer service training! They must know how to handle complaints and expectations from their customers! They cant be so defensive and confrontational .Needs to show some professionalism!
Yummy and Good Foods
I ordered the first time online from here yesterday, the food is amazing, the stuffed tilapia is full of flavor, everything else s tasty as well. and the portion of the box is decent. I can tell you guys really put your heart into this. I m gonna go to the shop to order again!
A place with home cooked meals topped with warm smiles that makes me wanna go back to my other homeland¡
Fantastic food, exceptional service, warm and friendly owners and staff.. Should get 10 Stars. Thank you for the delicious platter.
Very enjoyable experience! The HaloHalo was amazing! And the BBQ chicken was superb! Will visit again!
Ordered halo-halo and other food products. Cashier forgot we ordered halo-halo even though she said it would take awhile to make and told us to wait, so we waited and Ended up waiting for the halo-halo for 25mins, we were waiting 2meters across from them. Not once did they ask or even think that we were waiting for something. When we ask how much longer for the halo-halo was when they started making it. Worst experience to have. Cashier needs more training. Not worth a second visit. Halo-halo is not even good.
It really tastes like Filipino food. The serving is delicious and plentiful. Its tanigue and surprised what I liked.. Reasonably priced. Best Filipino restaurant in Scarborough by far Ive been to. Highly recommended! Will surely be back when given a chance. (this post was over a year ago, moved it here where it should be. Mistakenly posted in a wrong company.)
Great food
Ordered budol box and was so disappointed. First it wasnt prepared when I came to pick it up which I have pre-ordered. I had to wait for it. And people there were not apologetic. I ordered garlic rice but lo and behold the rice was just steamed rice with a few pieces of garlic on top. The BBQ was swimming in the sauce which looks like they are trying to hide something. The milk fish didnt have the filling (onions and tomatoes). Pancit didnt taste like it used to. This experience is just unfortunate. We used to order from them. I understand that the price went up but they could have done better in maintaining the quality of the food and customer service. Do not get the chicken inasal. Its just chicken leg in BBQ sauce!!! Time to move on to another establishment.
BEWARE of the grumpy older lady with glasses at the front cashier, she WILL RIP YOU OFF! I was first helped by a younger lady at the food counter. Upon ordering, I asked for the price of the bangus - the lady told me it was $11.00. When I went to go checkout, the older grumpy lady charged me $12.00!!!! Yes, thats right, she tried to rip me off by $1.00!!!!!!! When I told her the lady at the food counter told me it was $11.00, she just replied with oh and changed the price. No apologies, just pure attitude! How dare you try to rip me off by a $1.00, especially your own kind and during a pandemic when there are other businesses I couldve supported, but decided to purchase at yours! You are a disgrace and have a serious attitude problem! Dont bother purchasing their chicken skins, gummy and tasteless. Youre better off buying chicken skins at Seafood Citys Crispy Town. Ive attached a photo of the lady Im referring to. Dont be fooled by that smile, because she will rip you off in a heartbeat!
Amazing food and great price!
We got their Kapuso platter 2 for $40 after tax. Pickup was easy and quick - the platter itself is huge and a lot of food. Good value, but a lot of the dishes were fried it was a lot of fried stuff. Both of us got sore throats the next day. Overall, it was good value for money and tasted decent, so would come again, but try something else next time.
Very poor customer service.
I found J&J online because I was looking for a kamayan feast in Scarborough. I was impressed by the quality and amount of food I got! The variety in the Jake in the Box kamayan feast was great! A little for everyone. And the garlic rice was not oily or overpoweringly garlicy. It was fragrant with garlic, and went well with the boneless milkfish I chose for my box. I shared this with people who were not famliar with Filipino food, and they enjoyed it! It was a feast for the eyes and mouth. Im so glad I found you guys. I will be sure to be back to order the Jake in the Box again, and to try your other dishes. Thank you for completing my order during a busy Saturday. I really appreciate it!
Delicious foods; have big bundles too with assorted items; you can have food trays for take out. Staffs are friendly.
Youll enjoy their choices of Filipino foods.
A clean and bright little oasis on Ellesmere, stocked with delightful taste sensations of far off lands. Friendly staff and very attentive service. Bring your appetite and smile and youll do fine.
Food Poisoning! They sell their cooked food, even if its already off! We got food poisoning after eating food from their Combo box. The fish Bangus was undercooked. The Kare kare was off. We called and advised them that their food had caused us to be very sick. But, they did not take any responsibility or express any regret. The person that answered the phone was very rude!
Craving for some Filipino breakfast so we went here. Ordered tuyosilog and it was served freshly cooked. Ordered chicken skin and chicharon that was cooked fresh too. Friendly staff.
After playing at the park and working up a good appetite with the kids on the playground, we looked up nearby restaurants and lucky we found J & J Kapuso Filipino Restaurant. The food was hot and ready to go! We got our ulam and rice and was diving into it within minutes. The staff was super friendly and even played a little with my tiny humans as they looked around the store instead of admonishing their curious nature. We got the kare-kare, and it was amazing. Very creamy, peanut buttery, and full of meats, tripe, and veggies. The white rice was perfection! We ate together and enjoyed every bite. Cant wait to come again and try more dishes. Also love that you can pick up a few Filipino grocery essentials!
Order by phone and food was there when I came. Good job.
Food was good, service also pleasant
Highly recommend this place! Authentic Philipino food, must visit!
Great portions and also great price! Dont let the store-front fool you, it serves amazing food and the people were extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!
It was enjoyable place very private in the basement we enjoyed the party
Very friendly staff. Its a combination of Filipino store and a small dine in area. Food are delicious and price is reasonable. Love the Boodle fight and their Pancit noodles.
Authentic Filipino food. Friendly staff. Limited seating.
Food is good. Can be chaotic if you go during busy lunch/dinner hours. No real clue where to stand and line up to order food. Need to follow what others are doing.
The food is great.
Family style feast is a must do with a big crowd. You can rent out the basement for a big party and worth the value for the number of mouths and variety of food.
Slow service. The lady took her time to take orders. Waited for 30mins
Good portions and good price. Very friendly staff.
Great food. Try their boodle fight. One of the best I tried in the GTA.
We got 2 of their boodle fight boxes for takeout and it was a huge amount of great food for $36. Would love to come back after covid. Really nice family owned restaurant.
This establishment never disappoint us with their affordable kamayan menu. Ordered boodle fight bilao, grilled squid, fried chicken skin and picnic jack in the box. Good amount of servings as well. Staff are nice people and very patient with my questions via FB.
Have to give it up willingly
Love this place! Friendly staffs, Joy is always jolly and bringing good vibes. Great food and affordable prices. Love their halo halo, cheaper than other restaurants, and boodlefight is recommended!
best food and the best friendly people!
My go to place to eat when I m indecisive! Feels like home
Havent had tocilog for while and decided to try the all day breakfast. Pretty good. Friend had calderatta which surprisingly had pineapple! Nice touch. The only miss was the lumpia shanghai. Under cooked and not crispy. Pretty good price and a pretty busy joint while we waited for the tocilog (cooked fresh)
Food is just like Lolas home cooking. So friendly, felt like I was visiting back home. Highly recommend!
Love the friendly and welcoming service... Its like going to your Tita or Lolas (Aunt/Grandma) house. The food is excellent and great value for money. They have a variety of cooked Filipino dishes to choose from, you can order Combo or just the dish without rice+drink. Cash or Debit card only.
Loved their boodle fight meal, halo halo, chicken skin and kilawen kambing.
Well prepared food, not too salty. Take-out were recoiled for picnic ready.
The food was really good and worth it! I ordered a boodle box and picnic box. But I didn t see a single person working there wearing a mask, despite the sign on the door about having to wear a mask. I m sorry but please keep the masks on during this time.
I have been here many times and the food tasty. Today I tried to order a small beef dish but the price has quite more than listed on their sign, with no notice of price increase. The manager explained that the price went up some time ago but the sign was not updated. I find this very bad business. But having been a customer for a while, I tried to order another dish. I was not able to do so because the person walked AWAY from me, with a terrible attitude. I am very disappointed and shocked by this behaviour. Even when I tried to work it out she walks away. It will be awhile before I come back given the rudeness.
We went there from the Picnics Box but it wasnt available, you have to pre-order, we didnt know because that fact wasnt provided in their instagram post. We ended up ordering from their ready made foods instead. The lady rushed us a bit but thats because it was close to closing time. However, she did give us some complimentary deep fried pork skin for the wait. We ordered the pork belly, calamari, chicken, sausage, and tilipia fish. The pork, fish, and calamari were quite bland.
4.5* The food tastes great. Good value. If you havent had Filipino food, this place is great. Not too too sweet, but is flavourful. The pork belly is nice, a little spicy. The beef with carrots and potatoes is tender. The noodles were good as well - though not enough protein. The pork skewers were very good. Id recommend that and the beef with potatoes and Carrots. Also had the vegetable spring rolls which were unimpressive. Overall worth the visit. This place also sells some non perishable goods as well as bread.
A new found favorite. Glad we found this place before heading back to the west coast. Very clean store inside with a friendly staff. The food is very good, the portions are plentiful and my wallet loves it because its super cheap too. 3 things any foodie loves. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back when we are in town again....thx
I went there two weeks ago, and I noticed that they weren t wearing masks. They were talking and asking orders of the clients in front of the food without the mask considering the pandemic situation right now, it s very unsanitary and not safety. Also, they were not very welcoming because the way they talked to the clients, they were kind of mean and they have bad attitude. Food: foods are good. It s just that the attitude and safety for the clients. Please wear mask while serving.
It was the first time i tried filipino cuisine. It was really good. Tried their tilapia and red snapper. Tasted really good. The lady who served me at the counter was awesome. She gave me chicken skins for tasting.. Definitely coming back again to try their other dishes..
So far they have the best halo halo in the city...small place but great selection of Filipino delicases...
Just went there yesterday. Looks like it is permanently closed.
Their staff/owners are very nice. They recently renovated and changed their name but the quality remains the same. Definitely recommend this place.
everthing delicious!!
It my first time to order through doordash. Love their food, its satisfying, cant complain. For sure well order again.
I ve been to this restaurant twice before COVID for their Kamayan and I just ordered it through Doordash yesterday. And every time so far, it has been COMPLETELY worth it. You get an incredible amount of food for just $17 (one order can easily fill two people) and it all tastes quite good. Not to mention everyone who works here was super nice both in person, and even writing Thank you Jason on the delivery box. Just really shows a sweet personal touch. This is a great scarborough restaurant that I hope everyone tries and supports.
I am so happy I finally decided to order from J&J. Got the Jake in a box, I was a bit shook when I lifted the box the food came in... It actually had weight. For the price, you get a GOOD amount of food, enough for leftovers.
Food l: 1 Atmosphere:1 I always loved wherever I had Pancit, so yesterday we were close to this place and based on their pictures and reviews, I thought it should be nice, but it was the worst pancit I ever had, we couldnt even eat. We were so hungry after a long hike, so we thought we can just eas the vegetables out of it. But we couldnt. So we threw out the $8.99 box which was nothing more than greasy noodles and a few tiny unclean shrimps( we couldnt even eat the shrimps) And the place is just a convenience store. They didnt even ask us if we like garlic or not! Not everyone likes garlic. I have never had such a bad food, even though we were so hungry. Their other foods also didnt even look fresh
I was debating between a 2 or 3 star, only gave it a 3 cause they had noodle while other usually only have rice. We were a bigger group so it was downstair in the room across from the toilet. Ther was also another group there and they were using the ktv the whole night, so it can be quite loud and hard to talk to your friends. The food was ok. A little bit dry on my palette, although the mangoes was a good touch, the fish was alright, the pork on the stick was maybe one of the better dishes. There was so much left over after the meal. Came up to around $22 with tax and tip for adults and $11 for kids.
The food is great, a little pricey. They have varied selection of Filipino food as well as desserts. I would recommend it for everyone looking for authentic Filipino dishes.
The food of boodle fight is just okay... Weve got bangus, fried snapper and tilapya. Squid, overflowing pansit with vegetable. The staff who set the table is fast. Though the food is a little bit cold not that warm.
Family own grocery store with hot food provided. Combo 2 comes with two choices of meat or veggies. The chicken skewer and butter beef are simply awesome. The spring roll is bit of soft and I guess they been there for a while. Overall, its beyond my expectation. Recommend!
