Looking for a fresh hot table with many Filipino delicacies you can imagine? Jessie Jr. has been a fixture in the Scarborough community for many years. When we arrived here the kitchen was busy preparing new dishes. The lineup starter to wrap around the whole restaurant after we got our orders. There are many options for brunch or lunch. 1. The breakfast combo 1 item, rice, egg, and water $9.99. 2. Special combo 2 items, rice, water $11.99 3. Super combo 2 items, noodles, water $12.99 4. Regular combo 1 item, rice, water $9.49 There's an upcharge 50 cents on combo for beef, goat, pork belly, pusit labahita. Extra $0.99 for substitution for a pop. If you're looking for a filipino fiesta, give this place a try. There are plenty of food choices to suit even the pickiest pallette. If you are new to Filipino food, then I would try their pansit noodles, pork bbq, beef steak, or goat stew. There are also some veggie options like laing ( sweet potato leaves), pinakbet, chop suey.
Conveniently located in Scarborough. Nice & clean restaurant with ample seating capacity. Typical filipino foods are offered, great for dine in & take out. Reasonable prices. Fast staff service. Parking available
One of, if not my favourite Filipino restaurants ever. Been coming here ever since I could remember. One of the restaurants that hasn’t changed much since I’ve been started coming here, always consistent. Big slap of rice or noodles with the choice of dishes on the side. Dishes change daily which always opt for great variety, if it’s your first time trying Filipino food, would definitely recommend as it’s quick, cheap, & cafeteria style eating.
I originally ordered a tray of BQ pork skewer from somewhere else but they cancelled last minute. I called in to ask Jesse Jr if they have any for me to pick up in 10-15 minutes and they said yes. Guy was friendly on the phone. Thank you! Everyone loves the BQ Pork Skewers ! Also must try their crispy fried plantains ! Soooo good !!!!
What a wonderful restaurant/ take out service. The servers are super kind, friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The food is quite tasty and VERY affordable! Great variety of dishes. Definitely recommend
JESSE Jr. Is a great place to experience great quality Filipino cuisine prepared on-premises. They offer a wide variety of dishes that makes it a challenge to choose. Ask for the combo to get your favourites or try something new for your palate. Tip: the fried 'calamari' dish is more of an exotic prepared dish and not your typical Mediterranean recipe. The recipe uses the entire squid with a more salty and fresh fish flavour. I highly recommend the cold dessert Halo-halo, which is an amazing burst of savoury sweets in every mouthful -- contrasting textures, from chewy to crunchy, creamy to sticky.
Filipino dish. We're able to find fresh TAHO. Bought 4 Empanadas last Sat. April 1 and 2 were spoiled. I even asked before buying if they're NEW because I am afraid to waste money and experience food poisoning. Never again.
If i could give 0 stars I will. I m filipino and so are my friends. We wanted to get some filipino food after school to this store. There was a cockroach on my food. I ordered food where it was hard to tell the cockroach, I m scared that there might have been more than 1 as I already ate some of it. We reported to the worker and the kitchen lady was apologetic but the man and lady up front was smirking and laughing at us because we are over reacting We were in highschool back then so they didn t take us seriously. Never been to any filipino cuisine ever since then. It s a shame because I am filipino. I heard this store is now closed. I hope it stay closed.
If youre looking for authentic filipino food. Jessie Jr. is my go-to place. Service is great, and the price is fair.
A haven for delicacies i remembered from my homeland. The staff are friendly, the service is fast and efficient. A one stop shop for all things Filipino (food category). Please visit and try the awesome and economically priced food from Jessie Jrs Kitchen
The food is definitely still good. Although I ve started to notice that their customer service is not what it used to be. Today, their team were so unorganized that arguments broke out while myself and other customers had their orders and bills messed up. I hope improvements are made because I do like their food
Went on 2/19/23, lunchtime, portions were less generous than usual which discouraged me from ordering more.
OK. Price is reasonable but what do you expect? I Just dont know whats behind the WALL behind the counter.
Absolutely love this place. I have been coming here for lunch maybe once a week for almost a year now, I really like their portion sizes! Great quality food. Will continue to come here.
Owner and staff have been always accomodating and kind. Theyve helped us with three events and have always kept with their service commitment. Theyve also donated to our families charitable event generously. Thank you so much and will continue to support and promote such a wonderful establishment.
When I go to Uber eats app, the menu for combo is missing. The same goes in Kennedy location. Its dumb. I wish they should fix it quickly coz I like their food. Id consider buying more food from both this location. Only if Jesse jr fix their menu properly
Delicious Filipino food, definitely worth a try.
Nice Philippines food
This location is closed temporarily. They should update this on maps.
Always delicious food-best barbecue ever! Their pancit is excellent too.
Closed.
Excellent food and price.
Delicious! Pinoy Pinoy!
Lots of good Filipino dishes to choose from
Food isnt piping hot even though its on a steam table. Theyre always out of garlic rice.
Best in town!!
Good food and reasonable price. The squid is excellent !
Okay okay some people are rude / half of them nice or rude specially who work kitchens then food was great some of them hard Chew Kare Kare beef tapa hard too no taste improved food. Affordable to buy filipino food
Adobong pusit is one of my favorites from this place.
Good food, a little cheaper than other Philippino restaurants. The staff is usually friendly and they do have lots of dishes selections. You will find something you like to eat. You can also get combos ot just different sizes containers for your dishes.
Delicious BBQ sticks. Reasonable prices. Clean, friendly, and efficient establishment.
Food was cold and dry I believe the original taste of the food should be fine, what a shame. Hope they can improve their warming counter. Service was good.
I am from Montreal and my sister introduced us before we leave. So we had lunch here. There are lot of choices and I got what I want to eat! I love the food! But the spoon and fork are small and soft. It is better if it is quite medium and hard. Parking: Small area for parking...but its ok.
Good food overall, I do wish there was more food and dessert selections
Fresh and great tasting Filipino food.
Very bad experience today!!! I dont usually do reviews because I find it a waste of time and effort!!! But today... I want to waste my time and effort!!! Jesse Jr Sheppard&Brimley location... Dang (if the given name is correct) the server from that location is something else!! We ordered for dine in but we couldnt finish the food so i asked the server for a take out container, she asked for 50cents for the take out container, im so surprised because its my first time that someone charges for a container for takeout. .especially thats where we ordered the food. He said you should have told me earlier to put the food in the take out container. So I said we dont know that we wont run out of food. Next time you order, think of it as take out. Wow im so surprised with her attitude and her customer service. I can understand that they will charge me for the take out container if I didnt order the food from them. I go and eat to different places expensive and cheap ones...and its my first time to be told that. Even in expensive restaurants they dont charge for a take out container. They will even give you a paper bag with a smile on their face. I just said... no next time because we wont be eating here. Your behavior is bad. His answer was.. oh no. I hope youre happy, and I hope you get rich with that 50 cents... Definitely not coming back to this location EVER!!!
Today had hair on my garlic rice.
Family owned and been a huge supporter in the filipino community for years.
Visiting from Vancouver. We were looking for a good place that serves fresh and authentic filipino. We found Jesse Jr, in accordance to the reviews. We decided to check this place and boy, did it we ever made the right choice. Their brunch menu was so fresh and tasty. The aroma of the food inside the restaurant was heavenly. The were making the food so fresh, steaming hot and delicious as the minute go buy. Great selections of meat. The humba style adobo is a must-try! Crispy fried fish is available first thing in the morning together with their brunch selections. The tapa is glorious. We came at around 9:30 so there weren t that much choices except for the brunch menu and some other items but as lunch was approaching more and more dishes started arriving. Please visit this place if you want authentic and delicious filipino food that is reasonably priced. And the lovely filipina servers with their smile and lots and lots of patience. Bravo! Will come backkk for moreee!
Love the food
I placed an order in advance for Notre Buena. Ive called different Filipino restaurants so disappointed on them especially Bella Lechon. Staff are rude, disrespectful with zero customer service. Jessie Jrs staffs are so uniquely different they have high standard of customer service, nice and well mannered, respectful too. food is delish and karderatang baka is one of a kind...my familys favorite. Merry xmas to all. keep it up
Lots of food choices. Friendly staff. Ample parking. Open during lockdown for take out only.
WOW as in.WOW!The Letchon and moat eapecially the SISIG here is A M A Z I N G ! !Kudos to the chef!Thank you so much!I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.More power and keep it up!
I always come here atleast once a week when no time to cook.. the service is good. I always go for TAPA and giniling na pork.
The people are nice, there is a lot of selection. I loved the beef kare kare that they recommended. The chicken adobo was okay. I didnt like both the noodle dishes.
Very rich I love chicken and spaghetti Very good service
Yummy yummy! :)
Crispy sisig is my favorite.
Delicious Philippines food
I dont eat that much
Specializes in Filipino dish
Love their food and good customer service...
Wonderful selection of food, quick take out. Most important great tasting food.
So tasty, come here every week.
Great food
Good food, fair price
I really like the food in this restaurant! Really delicious and good price!
Great food but oily, some staff okay, some dont care. Never coming back here.
Variety of Filipino food delicious and magnifico
One of my favourite place for Filipino food. I highly recommend the Beef Calderta, Adobo & the Sisig. They sometimes offer a dish I believe is called Binagoongan. If you don t mind shrimp paste it s a great choice too!
Love the Laing and the best Kalderetang Kambing in town!
We eat our lunch here every weekend they have lots of delicious Filipino dishes to choose from. their Lechon Paksiw, Beef Caldereta, Sisig & Laing are my favourites prices are affordable All of their staffs are nice and friendly. I would probably recommend this restaurant to all of my friends cause they have good foods, great service!
1 of 3 Filipino restaurants within driving distance. Each one of them have their own strengths as well as weaknesses. I leave it up to you to discover them.
One of my favourite spot to go to for authentic Filipino food. Also can dine in if you want. I love the goat kaldereta. Wonderful staff and workers. Just be prepare to wait a little during their busy. But I promise you, you will enjoy their food. Plenty of parking for any that drives. And gonna continue to support this place. Totally reccomend it for people who wants to try to Filipino food.
Good as always!
The amazing people here are always helpful and are a pleasure to interact with. I purchased a large order of filipino style spaghetti and a small order of fried calamari. The spaghetti was delicious and although it didnt come with an accompaniment of dipping sauce, the calamari was great. A spritz of lemon at home and it was bless! Always a positive experience here and I will be back again.
Came here my wife suggested it to me it was not that great
Ive been going to your restaurant for years and I love your food, but your employees inside the kitchen are touching their faces without hand washing and are not wearing masks. Pls fix this.
Very organized instructions for delivery
A lot of choice, good taste and friendly staff.
affordable prices and great taste!
This food is amazing and reasonably affordable!
Great food, price for combos and staff.
I order pansit, friedrice, adobo for my daughter bday party it s a waste of money so don t ever ever order those menu..the only good is their sisig, laing and kalderita..kare kare not good either!
Great Filipino Food!
Fair food prices with great service and food quality! I like the ambiance since it makes me feel like Im in the PH while eating authentic Filipino food.
Nice Food
Good food and great staff
Compared to the other Filipino food places around, its inexpensive, but I would argue is more tasty. The pork belly and bbqs sticks are my personal faves. Cassava is good and made a little differently than most cassava cakes. Not full 5 stars because the food is sometimes lukewarm. Friendly service people and lots of parking.
Food is delicious and it offers great variety from main dish to desserts. Staff serve with a smile and accommodating.
abit pricey but okay.
Tasty dishes
Many selections of good food and friendly staff. Its good for a quick bite or take out and they take orders for partys
good enough . .
Average food, bit pricey.
Okay place to eat. Food didnt look fresh and amount and variety is low. Workers are not in talking mood so probably browse yourself. Expensive also.
Its good would be better if they started doing kamayan.
Good Filipino food
Its ok food was cold already.
Food is always cold when i go at night
Food is ok but a bit pricey
feels like home...love the food!
Why is Halo Halo so expensive, it taste good but man halo halo is not worth 7 and change.
Loaded with food and price is good. Dish are heavy so I would not recommend eating it everyday.
Food was great (only had bbq skewers) The only problem was all the flies. I had to constantly guard my food.
Great food
Food is great and better than Remelys imho. Id give it 5 stars but it needs a bit of a renovation!
Food is good. Lots of choices but some items are very oily and fatty ! I only come here occasionally since they are convenient. Also, the place is a bit run down and needs updating.
Food reasonably priced.
This is one of my favorite Filipino resturant. The food is delicious, authentic, the service is great and prices are okay, not too expensive. The atmosphere is nice but the washrooms arent the best. I usually come here for breakfast. Sometimes theres a line but it goes by fast. I would advise to get here early, sometimes I get there late and by then they have run out of certain items like garlic rice.
Great Filipino Cuisine
Good Filipino with a variety of dishes and reasonable prices. Not my favourite Filipino restaurant in Scarborough, but I do know people who prefer Jesse jr. Still, a good option if in the area and a regular place for me to stop by.
Good Filipino food!
Ok place for fast filipino food
never been there. Sorry.
Good food too busy ordered food not ready when I came to pick up
Dirty kitchen dirty washroom Avoid
Good-tasting food and cheaper too!
Very good food.
good food
Delicious!
Inconsistency in food quality, color & taste.
good food! terrible amounts of serving. would NOT recommend going there unless you want be badly ripped off.
Great Filipino food, good price.
Food is messed up, placed in one disposable plate with disposable spoon and fork. Food tastes good.
Good Filipino food
A taste of home for expatriot Filipinos. My Filipina wife loves it.
This is pretty much as grass roots as it gets for Filipino cuisine, and because of that its perfect.
Great place to eat. Lots of room and seats. Great selection of Filipino dishes. Washroom not too bad.
Yum
Love this place - best Filipino food in Toronto in my books. Definitely best value for sure. 10 bucks for a combo with rice and 2 dishes plus a drink. Huge variety of food and theres no complicated combo system with some dishes being more expensive than others (such as at other Filipino food places in the area like Bellas Lechon and Remelys) . Very generous portions as well - every time I come here before closing, they give me a ton of extra food so they can get rid of it before they close the store. I come here at least once a week - highly recommend!
Good food. Good price. I wish they had coffee as drinks.
Lots of food choices and friendly people running the business. A must eat choice of restaurant for everyone.
Regarding (Sheppard and Brimley location). If you are Canadian Filipino, be prepared to be provoked with anger by the front line staff - particularly the female who works there she is short and in her 30 s maybe. (I will find out her name in a moment). Anyhow, I have the worst experience every time I m served by her. She will force me to name the dish in Tagalog - only to correct me. FYI - this is my country, don t disrespect me. She rolls her eyes and is very SUPLADA she loves it when you struggle to order, the epitome of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE , rude and disrespectful. Typical suplada filipina, clueless fob who needs her work permit revoked!
Food is good. Price is reasonable. The only thing I dont like is the ambience. Washroom are filthy.
The best Filipino turo-turo place in Scarborough. They have everything that you crave for. Amazing Filipino food and their karioka is the best!
Loved it. Amazing food great price!
great Filipino food all the time
Average price, good service, delicious food
This place was packed with Philippino people speaking what I assume to be Tagalog. The food was hot and looked deliciously like a home cooked Manchu wok experience. We ordered pancit and were disappointed when it came with no chicken or shrimp, but the manager apologized and worked out a solution for us in the future. I would love to come back here and experience the food with a knowledgeable eating partner.
Pretty good, classic filipino turo-turo :)
Always good food
Great filipino foods
Good place to get your comfort food.
Yummy food
One of the worst places I have been. Observed a chef drop a chunk of meat he was cutting on the floor . He picked the meat and put it in a pot with the other meat being prepared for cook6
