Always consistent quality with Kathy’s! No complaints at all for as long as I can remember ordering from here. (Which has been for years!) The location is easy to access — parking is free, however can sometimes be tough to find open spots especially since there is a very busy Starbucks sharing the same lot. The dining room, front counter and bathrooms are always clean and neat. I’ve never seen a mess left or any kind of unsanitary conditions here. Very bright space with large windows in front, and good lighting in the bathrooms. The FOOD and the consistent friendly service is what keeps us coming back!everything I have tried off their menu is fresh, flavourful and very generous portions. The prices are more than reasonable! More food, healthier options, way better service for the same or less than fast food chains! Keep it up Kathy’s! You guys are awesome and one of the best establishments of your kind in Scarborough! Totally recommend to anyone looking for traditional diner foods, fish and chips and Greek foods.
Great value for the price paid. We visited on a Saturday night and it was extremely crowded but the restaurant did a good job of expediting orders - vibrant atmosphere with some great personalities. Ordered the chicken souvlaki dinners, a gyro on a pita, and a feta cheese poutine. The highlight of all these dishes was the lemon sauce, which was especially great in the poutine. The gyro was okay but the souvlaki dinners were super tasty. Will add this to our regular cycle of take out spots!
We have been passing this place whenever we go for coffee run and we finally went to try it. We ordered Chicken Souvlaki diner and Fish and chips. We’ve had better souvlaki, but for their price I guess you get what you pay for. Which is mid esp with prices now a days. Fish N chips was mid too, the fish has low quality taste ( you know what I mean when fish has a fishy weird taste) anyways, might come again to try the burgers base on what other people raving about it. Service was okay too, girls are friendly enough.
My go to spot for a nice burger. Reasonable prices, delicious food, what more can you ask for? This place is popular for a good reason so be prepared to LINE UP and wait for your order. Also I’ve seen Kathy working here and she seemed so kind. I saw she would give little kids little toys or juice boxes. Definitely the type of local spot I love to support!
Delicious meal, very reasonable price. I had the pork souvlaki dinner which came with a skewer of pork on Greek rice, with a good portion of salad and roasted potatoes. Also comes with a toasted bun. It was a very satisfying meal. I will definitely be back to try the homemade burger and hot homemade burger. Lots of reviews about the gravy so I will definitely try the fries with gravy too. So glad I found this hidden gem. I’m very lucky I got one of the three seats available at the place. Wish there was more seating but otherwise it was great! Edit to original post. Just tried the Homeburger and small salad. What a satisfying meal! The burger was excellent (not small or flat) and the salad was really good too. I’m so happy I found this place! I know I’m going to be a regular here. 😋
Fish and chips is just okay, didn't enjoy the taste of the batter. Would recommend the chicken souvlaki instead. Fries super bland! Make sure you ask for ketchup, salt and pepper. Seriously, they won't give it to you unless you ask for it. Prices are reasonable. Wait can be long at times to receive food so you need to have some patience.
Whenever I am in the Scarborough neighbourhood the Kathy’s Grill is one of my fav spot for in budget lunch/dinner. The food and the portion never disappoints, their chicken souvlaki plate is really good and has maintained the taste every time I have had it. The service is also very organized and one has to pay first for their order and would receive token number with the bill and its a self serve.
I’m half Greek so finding Greek food that tastes as good as my grandparents cooking can be hard to come by. However, Kathy’s Grill is my favourite Greek restaurant and is such a gem. Unbeatable prices, amazing portions, great customer service and the BEST Greek food you will ever try!
Kathys gril is outstanding. Well worth the wait. Tonight there was miscommunication and Kathy refused to take the extra money for the error. They are all working extra hard and with lack of heat due to some heating issues. BLESS YOU ALL MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THANK YOU FOR BEING AMAZING.

We have been coming to Kathy s Grill for years now. The portion sizes are great for the price and the food always tastes fresh and flavourful. Would highly recommend the chicken souvlaki dinner and fries with gravy.
Great food and really fair prices
Man, oh man, the double homemade burger with cheese and bacon. Oh, their bacon was fresh and thick and flavorful. The patties were cooked perfectly and toppings were placed elegantly, so every bite is full of everything you want. Kathys knows how to make a burger. Im going back to try something new on the menu .

This place lately seem to be running out of food exp 4 times already u get there at 8 they will tell u oh we run out of potatoes now they added rice to the items they run out of I can understand it happen once but 4 times u wait 25 min for your order this place need a new manager the guy breaking up the boxes was ask about the rice he shrug his shoulders and said oh it closing time then they tell u oh u want fries who the hell will eat soggy fries when u get home it s outrageous u can get a 10 pound bag of potatoes for 3 bucks the last time I check we r in Canada not a third world country this place has a good item they need to do better esp u r coming home after work waiting 25 min only to be told oh no more rice wow

Was in the neighbourhood, saw the unusual high rating and decided to check it out. What a nostalgic place! Absolutely not pretentious, shockingly reasonable prices, and really fresh and good food. This was how I remembered local Toronto Greek food places used to be.

After getting take out from Kathys the first time, I couldnt get them off my mind! This is a grab and go take out place in Scarborough that gives you a good bang of buck. They always have a lineup so be prepared for that. Both times, I had the chicken souvlaki dinner. It was plenty of food for me. In the box, half is salad with potatoes and rice, chicken souvlaki on top and a dinner roll on the side. The first time I had it, I kept on saying I wasnt very hungry. I went silent and polished off the entire container!

I wish I knew about this place sooner. The food is fresh and it tastes amazing. The prices are so low that its almost a steal. Everyone there is super friendly. Kathy loves to greet my kids with lollipops or with money for the little toy vending machines. This place is always lined up and definitely worth the wait!

First time the to order the chicken souvlaki cause it was recommended by my buddy. Terrible chicken souvlaki the worst I have ever had. Undercooked no flavor at all and tzatziki was on the watery side. Never will I buy lunch here again. Oh and I m still hungry cause the portions were small.

I love this place!! Kathy still works in the restaurant. Her words, Ill be here until they carry me out!!. The food is delicious and the portions generous in my opinion. I can vouch for the items Ive had: 1. Homeburger - juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. 2. Souvlaki - have tried chicken and pork, topped with lemon sauce, potatoes, rice and Greek salad topped with feta and olives. Im getting hungry again!! 3. Hot homeburger - single bun on the bottom, so not too much bread homeburger patty, covered in gravy...sooooo yummy. I cannot speak for the rest of the menu, this is what I have personally tried myself. You will have to try the other items for yourself. Enjoy
Thw food was good actually however ,Reason why it wasnt 4-5 stars the chicken dinner portion is small (1 small chicken skewer, mini handfull of fries) and the garlic bread is just bread as you can see it wasnt even toasted properly. Other than that its a good place and the price is good for the food your getting
Not Greek but might as well be growing up eating it at Greek cookouts. Kathy s is one of the best if not the best in the city. It doesn t get enough recognition, but everything coming out of this place is magic (Chicken Souvlaki and Burgers wow). Also gotta give some love to the staff, especially the uncles on the grill especially because they get yelled at sometimes by the boss, just like a Greek home lolllll

The food is fresh and tasty the prices and quantity are great. Friendly atmosphere. We had the chicken souvlaki dinner with salad, potatoes and rice, all cooked very well. The only thing I would change is add more garlic in the tatziki but that is just me. I definitely will be going back, may need to try something different now.

Best place in Scarborough for greek takeout
I was in this restaurant first time on a Wednesday around 8:45 pm and the place was packed with long time patrons. The menu is really well-priced compared to many other local places with quality of food. I bought a homemade burger with a side of poutine which costs around a tenner, unbelievable to say the least.

Was great and don t know what changed. Over cooked the fish and was in disarray even ordering. The girl who was suppose to take the orders was socializing with another employe and a girl who walked in. Seemed to know the guy there on the side. Older woman took my order in haste before I was done and gave me the debt machine. The fish was so bad a broke a plastic knife cutting it. Won t be back.
Food is always fresh and tasty and the staff is always polite and courteous.. Its my go to spot locally when I want something close to a home cooked meal... The chicken Filet dinner is usually my go to and highly recommended. The Burgers are great too and the pricing is more than reasonable.. Overall they provide great value and always great customer service experience... Bang for your buck wise theyre definitely worth the five star rating. Im never disappointed

The chicken souvlaki is great, the Greek salad is fresh and very tasty. Their potatoes are very good. There is not alot of parking, but worth the hassel, the Greek food is that good. The staff are friendly, and its very clean, but its only take out right now. There is no washroom there that I could see. The restaurant is handicapped accessible. Update, I have gone back, and I can not get enough of the home burger here!! Its amazing, super tasty, super fresh, cooked to perfection. Its one of my favorite places for a real jome burger, one bite and you will see! They could open up the restaurant a bit more, and open the washrooms again, if they did that I would give a higher atmosphere rating. The beef hotdog is slso really good here. The prices are incredible when compared to the quality.

This was recommended to me by someone. Food, service and price as promised, but sadly there was no sufficient dining area so I had to eat in my car. A lot of it was taken up by storage. If that s the price to pay for affordable meals, I m ok with this.

Best souvlaki dinners in the city, I grew up as a youngster in the area and went to Harrys Drive In regularly then they sold to new family and the quality changed drastically. But Kathys opened and now is the best spot for fresh takeout has quality, taste, and friendless and know that whatever you order its gonna be great. I always order Chicken Souvlaki Dinner, or Home Burger Fries Combo. The home burger is super juicy and full of flavor.. Cant go wrong eating here, maybe the line of people might stop you but the line moves quickly.. Thank Kathys for taking such care in you food unlike most restaurants these days.

I ordered the Chicken Souvlak plate for lunch from here a week ago. The rice was slightly undercooked, and the potatoes lacked any flavor. Although the chicken and the salad were good. The service was quick even though the restaurant was fairly busy at this time. So that might be the reason for the slightly undercooked rice in my order. Ill update the review if I go back here again. Parking: Theres a free parking lot beside the restaurant shared with the Starbucks. Parking could fill up during busy times.

This was our first time here. We wanted to find a Greek place and were impressed by past reviews. The food is very well priced and is super yummy. But what really set it apart is the atmosphere. The lineup was looooooong and it took a bit for the food (Friday eve dinner rush I guess), but I could tell by the people waiting in line and how patient and happy everyone was, it would be worth the wait, and it was. Also, there was an older lady there waiting for food that felt weak and needed a chair, and one of the ladies working there tended to her life she was family. Looked after her to ensure she was alright. It just didnt feel like what you see everyday and we will definitely be making this place a more regular visit. Would 100% recommend!
Kathy s is an absolute gem. We ordered catering for 10 people, it was absolutely spectacular. Prepared and wrapped with care, every bite was delicious. Our guests were so impressed with the spread. Thank you Kathy s! Keep up the great work.

Great Service, Good Prices. We Got the Homemade Burgers with cheese. They did have a special for about 9 for a Hamburger drink and fries, how can you beat that? Heard this place had some good greek food, came with my mom and sister to try it out. There were lots of people in line and waiting for food. Workers were all occupied in getting the line moving. It has some high chairs and high table to eat but there was a section blocked off with the regular table and chairs where their staff were using. Very disappointed tho, my mom who can t sit on the high chairs asked if we can use the lower table and chairs to have our meal, the cashier asked the boss and she said NO, my mom asked to talk to her and she deliberately said No again. This is very inconsiderate and rude. Food was good for the price paid but management needs help. Although the cashier was understanding and wanted to help out.

Great job folks and much appreciated! Vegetarian options: The veggie plate is under $10. Potatoes or fries, rice and Greek salad and the serving portions are huge. Proper Chicken Souvlaki in Scarborough that takes Plastic. Clean place, fast service, kind staff, great food. My primary order is the Chicken Souvlaki, rice, potatoes, with everyone on the salad. place is so busy that when you first walk in you can get confused by where to go to order but its quickly made clear. place looks like its still blocking off most of its dining room as per covid regulations from a couple years ago so not a lot of seats. they do have some stools by the windows on either side of the restaurant. the food is phenomenal. we love greek food and so happy to have come across such an authentic local spot (typically venturing out to west north york/downtown for good options). i couldnt believe the prices. if youre in the area or even passing through at some point, its worth a stop in to try. the line does not stop for these folks and i hope they have continued success with this place
