Federick Restaurant in Scarborough

Was busy at lunch so my noodles was not quite up to the usual Fredericks quality. I still enjoy Fredericks so will do take out. Thanks guys!

Great tasting food.

So disappointed... Sat for 20 minutes. Two csutomers after us got served. Staff did not make any eye contact...was extremely disappointed considering I am a regular customer. December 09, 2024.

This place needs to do lots of renovation, needs good ventilation food smells always trapped there

Where do I start !! The place is absolutely dirty , left over food on the floor and napkins and when I walked in they were cutting green beans on top of restaurant table in the middle of the restaurant all the cut outs falling right to the ground . The customer service is awful , not once did they ever came and ask if everything was ok , had to chase them down to order my food . Now for the food the fried shrimp I had to massacre it in soya sauce for flavour , the chicken corn soup was decent , the shangai mixed noodles was mediocre. Lost my appetite after looking at how dirty this place is .

Placed a pick-up order for Cantonese ChowMein and Fredericks Delicious Crispy Chicken and Corn soup recently. The Cantonese Chow Mein was soggy, and it is supposed to be a crispy noodle. Also, the noodle portion size was small compared to the size from the Markham location. I was expecting white rice with the chicken dish, and guess what? There wasnt any. This Fredericks Delicious Chicken is Chicken Pakora without the hot peppers. The soup was watery and tasteless. I am never going back to this location. The Markham location has better food.

Ordered take out from here on many occasions. Their chilli chicken is out of this world. Ordered for pick up only so far but looks nice and clean on the inside as well. Service was good, food was ready and stayed warm until reaching home.

I ordered the chili chicken expecting to get the chicken lightly battered and lightly fried with sauce. Like Ive gotten in other Hakka restaurants. What i got was chicken covered in most likely corn starch, it was gummy, slimey, just horrible.

I saw the manager/owner(lady) scolding their employee infront of the customers. Very unprofessional i must say. Even tho their employee were quite nice and polite! They gave us an amazing service! I ordered something from special spicy and it turned out to be sweet!

I have been ordering from Federicks for over 20 years. Tonight I ordered Singapore noodles and chili chicken. The noodles were burnt and acrid tasting. First off I was really shocked. Prices have gone up and quality had gone down. Would not recommend at this time and so disappointing. Also badly packed and containers leaked everywhere. Guess it s time to find a new Haka restaurant

Tried it for the first recently after hearing about it for many years. I was not disappointed. Incredible chilli chicken, best I ve ever had. The fried rice was great too. Nice classic atmosphere and good service. Will be returning very soon.

Employees are clearly bored with their jobs and did not take orders for 15 mins though few customers were present and there were over 4 employees. We specifically asked if the fish served was non battered before placing the order yet they served us exactly what we said we dont eat. They were gracious enough to take the dish back and did not charge us but given we were hungry and had been waiting we did not want to wait for a replacement dish as other dishes served were also disappointing. To top it all, employees or management confused dining area with kitchen preparation area. Very disappointing. Will not return.

Absolutely GARBAGE Food!! Please save your money and don t waste it in this dump. Servers are rude. Ordered Chili Chicken, Chili Beef, Chicken Fried Rice and House Special mix Fried rice. Rice dishes were overcooked and mushy. No flavour what so ever. The chicken and the beef dishes were disgusting. Never again. First and last

It is a small place with a long waiting time. We ordered all their specials including chicken pakora, soup, noodles and sauces. The mixed pakora had almost raw chicken inside which they took and brought back after frying again all oily. The sauce dishes had a lot of soya sauce like literally felt like a cup of soya sauce and red food colour drenched in corn flour coated chicken and fish. It came with a bowl of regular steamed rice. The soup was good with a big jar of vinegar and chillies. Noodles were flavorful but lacked the oomph factor that Hakka restaurants are famous for. It was very Indian style Chinese. It was much recommended by a lot of people and being such an old restaurant, I really feel they do justice with the price and portions. However, I felt like they can improve on taste of their Chinese dishes and service.

The food is good but if you go around closing time, the staff stands close to your table, staring at you until you leave. For reference, I was there on a Friday and the restaurant was supposed to close at 11pm. I reached considerably before closing time, around 10pm. They kept staring while we were having dinner which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and had to pack the rest of our meal for takeaway and they eventually rushed us out and even closed before 11pm.

One of my favorite Scarborough joints. If youre in Scarbs, this is definitely a place to try. Food comes quickly and in abundance. I usually do takeout, but I have dined in a few times. Service is good.

The food was poorly prepared. The chili chicken lacked proper breading, and the chili flavor was off, tasting more salty than spicy. The fried rice was under-seasoned. To make matters worse, the servers were unprofessional, lacking basic customer service skills and communication. They spent more time gossiping and subtly pressuring guests to leave. Overall, it was a disappointing experience; the quality of both food and service has declined significantly from what it used to be years ago.

The beef dish had too much sauce even though I asked for very little sauce. It was like a soup. My glass was very dirty and old looking

I recently visited Fedrick Restaurant hoping for a good Hakka dining experience, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The food lacked the authentic flavors I was expecting, with the dishes tasted so bland salty and missing the unique spice and depth Hakka cuisine is known for. The portions felt decent for the price, and the ingredients didn t seem fresh. To top it off, the service was a night mare poor. We had to wait a long time just to get a table for seven when wanted a booth a North Indian guy spoke in Hindi saying you need to wait to for 1 hour as if he misinterpreted they we don t understand hindi , and it was difficult to get the attention of the staff when we needed something. Overall, it was not the warm, welcoming dining experience I had hoped for, and I don t think I ll be returning anytime ever , they served me cutlery which wasn t washed and still food particles on it. Trust me don t waste your time and money to get bad food and bad customer service at this restaurant , I wish we had zero stars for this restaurant,

If I could give this place a zero star I would but sadly you can t I called a head and order my food explained what I wanted was met with short reply s on the phone no review of my order or nothing pick it and and get my change thrown at me by a female employee and was given the wrong order. When I called back and explained my order wasn t right I was told that what I was given was the order I made when it was NOT. After going back and forth with them on the phone they agree to exchange the wrong chicken they gave me with the right one I ordered. But sadly when I went in to do the exchange I was met with more attitude and a blatant disregard for anything I was saying. I ve been going to this place for years and have never experienced this type of negative or customer service in my life. They need to do better

I just ordered food from this establishment and I they made the wrong order, I go home to see they made the wrong order and I called them just to find that they were arguing with me. What happened to customer service? I had to take a Uber all the way back to get my right order and they where very rude and VERY disrespectful. A young guy with tattoos. To make matters worst when we originally bought the food one of the workers threw the change back at my wife. How disrespectful and disgusting. Im very disappointed in this whole interaction.

I ve eaten here since the restaurant opened, many years ago. I wish Simon was still here. The fact the ice machine hasn t been fixed , in months! Is totally unacceptable. The food and service is hit and miss. The best waitress (Anne) doesn t even work there anymore. Come on you can do better. Get a good manager in there to kick up the quality you always delivered.

They gave me burnt chilli chicken. When I called to tell them, they said they won t give me a credit.

The worst food ever! Tried the special for one from their menu, the beef curry was full of smelling turmeric. The fried rice was not properly made and the rice was regular we have at home. I wouldn t pay for regular rice or wouldn t go for it! The employees were doing their bare minimum. I won t visit this place ever again. I hope they elevate their food quality to sustain in this market. Very dissatisfied!!

Fredrick Restaurant was amazing! And eco friendly for everyone. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Our server, Samip Khadka, was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I ll definitely visit again!

Excellent food. This was the fastest sit down service Ive ever had. The atmosphere is okay. The interior is older, the tables are very close together, and the floors were slippery with grease. I will be ordering take-out very soon. Parking: Theres lots of parking behind the restaurant.

I don t know who is giving these 5 reviews but it is DEFINITELY NOT anyone who has eaten this food! I have lived near this place since it opened and have eaten this food for decades and the order I got today was absolute garbage! The spring rolls were all at once uncooked, GREASY and overcooked. Go figure. The chicken balls were hard and brown. The chilli chicken was chicken pieces coated in BROWN. Not sauce ..BROWN. That s it. BROWN. I can t even describe the rest. It s awful. Find better Hakka. Please.

Amazing food wouldve taken a picture but the food didnt last long. Great price and sizes.

Food was not bad overall. But they charged us 13% service charge on the top of food price and taxes. When we asked they said its tip and thats their new rule. We will give tip if the service was good regardless, but forcing us to pay tip as a rule without our concent is not agreeable and unpleasant.

Nice place to have hakka Chinese @ Scarborough

Everyone has their go-to Hakka place depending on where they grew up. I have tried over 20 locations all over the city, and I can safely say, Federick is in my top 5. They have been in business for quite some time and are considered one of the OG s of Hakka cuisine. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are generous. I am not from Scarborough and live in downtown Toronto but will still embark the 1 hr drive to and from. It s really that worth it. Today, I ordered the Manchurian Fried Rice, Chili Chicken (dry), and Kam Shue Beans. All 3 dishes came out to $43 including tax. After the 1 hr drive back home, the food was still hot! I highly recommend you try if you haven t already.

Been going to Fredericks for over 25 years. Always enjoyed it until today. We ordered our food right away, as we already knew what we wanted. Drinks and glasses(old beaten up and one chipped glasses) were brought out. I suspect the wait staff is dealing with allot and no support from management. Chili chicken came out, plate 3/4 full. Chicken pakora came out, plate a little over 1/2 full. Chicken fried rice had no green onions and looked like they ran out of ingredients. We got home and found our to-go chili chicken container was 1/2 full. Prices went up a little, which we expected, but Im not sure why the servings were less. Will try the one in Markham next time. Oh almost forgot, we ordered squid and got cuttlefish. 3 of the 5 in our group didnt like the smell, its a preference thing. But they should have brought us Squid. We traveled 97km to go there, as a nice outing. Too bad we cant say that well ever do that again. Im really disappointed. Ps it was my sister-in-laws first and probably last time.

The tables are tiny, they had long beans strewn on a big table. We had to hold our plates on the hand to eat because there was no space on the table after food was served. Flies everywhere, the eggplants were not cooked, Hakka chowmein had dairy in it! The worst Hakka place in the GTA

Curry chicken had no flavour or salt. Beef and veg was so starchy like the thickest gloop I have ever had. Dumplings were mediocre. Singapore noodles were decent/normal Idk what the hype about this place is. There is better tasting food at the mall Everyone at the table was utterly disappointed by the food, given the great reputation they have. I just tried the left overs thinking maybe just maybe the flavours came together, but it s honestly just bad .

This restaurant died with Simon. It s a total disgrace and disaster to his dynasty. The name Federicks has gone down the toilet. You have changed the quality of food and his original recipes. The pakoras are missing a key component and ingredient .. they are so dry and fall apart.. they used to be so crispy and light when we first tried the original recipe back in 1993. The Hakka chowmein has zero vegetable ingredients anymore. The hot and sour soup was awful, worst I have had. How greedy can you be to make a profit only and to do a disservice to your customers.

Takeout is fine but their dine in is terrible. They dont have any sort of reservation system for under 8 people. When you go in person and they are full they dont have a waiting list so you literally have to wait and hope they remember your face to give you a table by time of arrival. Plus their waiting space is so small and we had to wait there awkwardly with 3 other families. A piece of paper with people writing their names and phone number will take two seconds and be easier and fair.

Way too oily. Veggy Manchurian looked great the wrong color it was red. The chili chicken was ok and the shrimp pakora was very good. They took forever to bring out the Hakka noodles we almost finished all the rest of the food and when it did come out it was kind of overcooked. Quality seems to have gone.

Every time we go to pick up our takeout (in the evening), the same woman gives it to us but she always has unpleasant customer service and an attitude. Otherwise, the food is usually good but the customer service can definitely improve (specially on that one particular woman at the front desk).

I had lunch at the Markham location throughout the work week and was excited to order from my local Scarborough location for Friday dinner.. What a mistake!!!!!! The two restaurants share a name but the food is not comparable at all. The Scarborough location was the worst take out food I e ever had, anywhere! I ordered chicken balls which where amazing in Markham but completely disappointing at the Scarborough location.. I had 2 ball that were totally batter, no chicken at all!!! And the rest had a price of chicken the size of a dime lol no joke.. The Bombay chicken is Scarborough tasted like it had ketchup or something like it it was the worst Bombay chicken I have ever tasted by far how the two locations could be so different is crazy.. I would Never eat at Fredericks again!

Me and my family has been a customer for years. Since the pandemic, we noticed the food quality was decreasing. Last night we ordered from them and got food that was so bad, I had food poisoning. Thanks Fredrick!

We ve been regulars here but this time they messed up our take out order. Instead of Cantonese Chow Mein they gave us just shrimp chow-mein. We think the guy who took the order was not efficient. The place was busy so we didn t check the actual contents, as they have not failed us prior to this.

Amazing food for great price! Restaurant is always busy especially for their lunch specials. $9.75 for huge portion of food along with a pop or Chinese tea on weekdays 11 am to 3 pm. (See photo for menu) We dined in and got the combo for 4. Delicious! Food came fast it was enough food for 4-6 people! We had lots of leftovers. Hot and sour soup - contained lots of tofu, black fungus and chicken pieces, very filling Garlic spicy shrimp - came in sizzling hot plate, delish!!! General Tao beef - cooked very well Manchurian fish - big chunks of fish and yummy! Chilli chicken - signature fish of Federick s, highly recommended Fried pineapple with ice cream - so yummy and had a nice kick to it! Enough parking on a Sunday night. Front lot is always packed during the afternoon when they have their lunch specials but there is additional parking at the back. Kid-friendliness: Waitress was very kind to provide plastic bowl, plastic cup and spoon for my toddler to make it easier to eat.

We usually visit the other location and this was the first time coming here. I was so disappointed with the portion and the sad thing is that all the other tables had a way bigger portion that our table did and I m not sure why that was the case. We ordered the chicken fried rice, chicken with vegetables and sweet and sour chicken and unfortunately there was barely any chicken in the chicken with vegetables. And also the sweet and sour chicken was served in room temperature and not hot.

Their chicken pakora is the best. Otherwise, most of the food was either salty or too much corn starch in their dishes. Also, for few items the food color use was quite evident.

First time eating from this place and was very disappointed had high hopes only to be let down. Customer service over the phone from a guy was great. I got takeout hakka chow mein noddles (beef and shrimp) dinner special and chilli chicken lunch special. Noodles was so bland and had no flavour that I tried to mix with chilli chicken and it only helped a little. When i ordered the chilli chicken I didnt know it came with rice inside maybe because I got the lunch special... they should mention that rice will be parted of that special as I just wanted ONLY chilli chicken so I dont know if I was ripped out of getting a bigger portion of chilli chicken. Chilli chicken was bland not a lot of heat, no sweetness. I wont be ordering from here anymore

I am so disappointed that I felt the need to write a review. I ve been a long time customer of this location, a staple for my family for over 20years! The quality of the food has gone down immensely in the most recent years. The chili chicken used to be the best in all of Scarborough, and now it s not even worth listing, it s barely decent. Pakora quality also taking its toll and going down with every visit. Hakka noodles no longer tasty. This may have been my last order, as it is not getting any better, so sad

Worst fried rice in the world no taste

Excellent lunch specials for pick up or eat in. Also a regular dinner pick up spot for our large family. Just call and order ! This place has been serving Scarborough for DECADES for a REASON. Food is consistent and delicious. Chili chicken, chicken pakora, garlic chicken and their green beans are dishes you want to try at least once.

As a long-time customer of Federicks, Im really disappointed to share my recent dining experience. It was nothing like the quality and service Ive enjoyed for the past 20 years. Starting with the food, my family and I ordered four dishes, but they all lacked flavour. The chili squid, which we specifically asked for with extra garlic, arrived without any garlic at all and tasted bland. Plus, the batter was falling off the squid pieces. The chili chicken lacked the authentic flavours we usually get at Federicks. There also wasnt enough gravy, and the containers were only half-filled, leaving us with a tiny portion. Chicken pakoras were okay. Noodles were oily and had little meat. The rice portions were noticeably smaller than before. All four dishes were shoved into a single plastic bag. We got only one red and green chili sauce for the whole order and just one lemon wedge. When we asked for extra lemon wedges, we were told there would be an additional charge. After spending over $60, youd think a couple of extra wedges wouldnt be a big deal. When we placed the order and asked for the chili chicken to be extra spicy, the server who is at least 40 years old, replied in a fake, babyish voice that theyd provide extra chili sauce on the side, which is definitely not the same thing. However, it was just chili in vinegar and didnt actually make the dish any spicier. I understand that many restaurants are facing high operational costs, but cutting back on basic ingredients, flavours, and overall quality is unacceptable. Because of this disappointing experience, well be trying the Markham location, hoping to find the Federicks we know and love. Unfortunately, the current state of this Scarborough location is a complete letdown.

Today ( 7th Jun 2024) I had ordered Manchurian Veg Noodles, Szechuan Fried Rice and Hot & Sour Soup. I had requested for medium spicy but they made them extremely Spicy and inedible. The presentation for food was really bad, vegetables in food was uncooked and not cut properly. It looks like Chef dont have time to cut vegetables. Very Very average food. Not recommended. Vegetarian options: Very bad and average quality food.

I recently visited Fredericks Hakka in Scarborough, a place I ve ordered from multiple times before. One thing I appreciate about this restaurant is the consistent quality of their food. Every dish Ive tried has been delicious and flavourful, making it a go-to spot for Hakka cuisine. However, during my latest visit, I noticed that prices have gone up. While this is understandable given the current economic climate, its still worth mentioning for those who are budget-conscious. The service was adequate but had some notable shortcomings. The young man serving us was not very attentive, missing basic details like refilling our water glasses, pretty basic. Additionally, we had to wait longer than expected for the bill to arrive, which dampened the overall dining experience. The most disappointing part of the meal, however, was finding a long strand of hair in my food. This was extremely off-putting, especially since none of the staff wore hair nets. I considered calling the manager but realized that this lapse in hygiene is a larger issue if proper precautions like hair nets arent being used. Mistakes happen, but this is simply unacceptable and not what customers are paying for. Ive never interpreted The Taste of India to mean tasting the kitchen staffs hair Overall, while the food remains tasty, the service and hygiene standards at Fredericks Hakka need significant improvement. I hope they address these issues soon, as they can overshadow the otherwise enjoyable aspects of dining there.

I visited June 14, 2024 [Federick Restaurant, Elesmere], and had an awful and terrible experience. First, I found hair in my food, which is completely unacceptable. The dishes(garlic chicken , fried rice, ginger chicken, we ordered were excessively salty to the point of being inedible. We were regular customers here , and the food was not like that before It was good.To make matters worse, the staff (a boy and a girl) were incredibly rude and unprofessional.When we complained, they talked to each other n laughing at us. They seemed indifferent to our concerns .This restaurant is open till 11:00 pm but we went there at 9:20 pm and the boy said dont sit there as we are closing soon , we have already cleaned tables. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone at all anymore. Save your money and go elsewhere! I think the owner should take care of this matter.

We (my family) went to Frederick rest/Ellesmere br on June 14,2024 @ 9:30 pm. Being a repeated customer, I was surprised to feel that I was not welcome at all as the restaurant service people were getting ready to close. Further, we found hairs on the plate and spicy garlic chicken was soo salty...could not eat. I reported these to manager who never came to see and didnt bother to explain anything. I felt like im in a C category restaurant but not in Federick. Further, restaurant service people need more training on customer services as they didn t provide dishes, glass and plates in different orders. I didnt enjoy the dinner at all. I may not come here again and does not recommend to anyone.

Frederick Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a diverse menu that impresses with both taste and presentation.. The taste of every meal is great here. If you wanna try any Indian Chinese cuisine, you must visit here once. The staffs were very friendly and overall the environment was very fabulous. Me and my friends enjoyed there. Will be coming more in the future. Bombay chicken, chilli chicken, pakoras highly recommended! Highly recommended!!!

We visited Fredericks at Scarborough after Road Trip yesterday. The service was pretty quick. How about the quality of the food has dropped from a few years back. Add to that one of the servers had a little bit of an attitude. However overall for the price it was not too bad

After hearing endless praise about this restaurant, I decided to give it a try. Twice. Unfortunately, I was twice disappointed. On my first attempt, I ordered the Schezwan fried rice. Now, I enjoy spicy food, but this dish redefined spicy to the point of setting new records in culinary combustion. I m pretty sure it could have doubled as rocket fuel. Undeterred, I gave them a second chance and ordered the veg fried rice. This time, they decided to drown the rice in oil. It was less a dish and more a swimming pool for grains of rice. Adding to the experience, the lady on the phone had the charm of a cactus. Needless to say, I wont be making a third attempt.

The person taking our order was definitely not friendly, in fact seemed disinterested. When talking about the food, the chicken pagoda, garlic beef was spectacular but their fried rice was problematic. We couldnt finish the portion and took it home for it to go bad the next day even after storing it in the fridge immediately. Really need to improve on their quality of service and food

We ordered, chicken, beef, shrimp pakodas, beef fried rice, vegetable fried rice, veg noodels - All these were tasteless. There was no flavour in the food and the beef was not cooked. Never again Federick.

love the chilli chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. it was so delicious and ready to eat. the rice is also very good and it was flavorful and cooked to perfection!! will definitely be back for another plate.

The food was barely warm. Also it didn t taste good compared to other hakka restaurants nearby. The garlic chicken was super red in color and taste was bland.

Good Indian Chinese food. Value for money. They even give complimentary rice and fortune cookies.

Very usual Hakka Chinese restaurant. The service was quick, for sure there is a language barrier but they try their best. Food is always good. I would recommend coming here and trying the garlic chicken always great!

Atmosphere: We were seated surrounded by a party in one side and the other. The group in one side, the members of the younger group were not aware of loud they were. Service: The wait staff were just trained to get the most money out of the guests.

I ordered Combo pakora which had some chicken, fish and shrimps pakoras. Those were bit oily but super tasty and crispy. Bombay chicken dry was little spicy but so delicious. I loved it. Hakka mixed chow mein wasn t spicy at all but the taste was so good. Their service was amazing and the atmosphere was just perfect.

The food was decent, we placed an order for take out and they gave us the wrong order. When we called to ask what happened once we got home, they said come back and we ll replace it. The lady at the counter was very rude and said it was our fault that she gave us the wrong order. Another gentlemen then came and helped us and apologized and fixed the order. Overall mediocre experience and food was decent at best.

We went for a Mothers Day lunch with six individuals, and two of the orders were quite salty. We requested an adjustment and received the same excessive salt order. I complained again, and they cancelled both orders because they really needed the table for other clients. Customer service is highly important. The quality of the meal tastes different than it did two years ago. We are quite disappointed. My mothers dish had a high salt content, and she did not eat lunch after they cancelled the order. Longtime Fredericks customer - mostly from the Markham location. Have ordered once here a while back. Tried it again because I was in the area. Ordered the Beef with Brocolli and the Chili Chicken. Chili Chicken was similar albeit with more oil added. However, the Beef was completely different in quality from Markham. The quality of the meat is very low - it was completely full of fat, sauce was gooey and just tasted like oil. It was absolutely disgusting. We ended up throwing the entire dish out. Definitely will not order from this location even if Im in the area.

We came to this restaurant with our family the attendant asked for if you want to take out but my family members water to take seat until the order gets ready but the attendant came rushing towards my family members and I quote get out of the dining room only for dine ins . Very rude staff, I order as a pickup. I kindly ask to eat my food inside dining room they rudely kicked me out of restaurant.

I was disappointed with the overall experience. The food quality was quite average and did not meet the standards I expected. Many of the dishes were overly salty, making them difficult to enjoy. Considering the price, the meal was not worth it at all. Unfortunately, this did not live up to the positive reviews I had read beforehand. I hope they can improve their quality and seasoning in the future.

My recent dining experience here was absolutely amazing. The Bombay chicken was packed with flavors( my favorite ), the Manchurian noodles was absolutely fantastic and dumplings were also delicious. Our server, Samip, was exceptional, providing impressive service with a smiling face. Highly recommended.

We decided to dine out on a whim over the weekend and, fortunately, secured a table within 10 minutes despite not having a reservation. The wait was well worth it. We opted for the special for four and added fried rice and chicken chow mein, as seen in the photo. The standout dishes for me were the Manchurian fish and garlic shrimp, both of which I highly recommend. The other dishes were classic but satisfying. The rice, though a bit stickier than usual, was still tasty. A minor issue was the table size, which barely accommodated our dishes due to the crowded restaurant. The highlight, however, was the fried banana ice cream dessert a must-try that was so delightful I forgot to snap a photo. Parking: As for parking, spaces were available at no cost; just be patient for an Delivery driver to vacate a spot.

Garbage service, people are illiterate, rude and non professional. Food is cheap and quality just 0 out of 0, is not even there. This is canada, there are standards here. Asking high service charges for worst and poor service and waiters. Dont even know how to treat and talk honest and wealthy customers. Poor quality food , seemed like microwave warm up food, very very disappointing restaurant, save your time and money, go somewhere else. 0 out of 10 ... Poor ! It says ! Got chicken fried rice, very disappointed. Bad flavour, horrible. I wish I could go back and return it but I live too far. Chilli chicken was amazing. Fried rice was a waste. Rather eat white rice.

We ordered take out on April 8. My post is late. The food in this restaurant used to be very good. This time it was awful. I ordered 2 Manchurian fried rice, 2 chillie chicken and 2 hakka noodles. The fried rice was so dry. The chillie chicken was full of oil not tasting like chilli chicken at all. There was a smell in the chicken. The color was just like black pepper. I dont know what chicken it was. I would have brought back all the food as we were very dissatisfied with the flavor and the taste. On the whole the food was insipid. We had guests and we could not help it. Even the guests are very little and we knew the good didnt taste good at all. I will not be dining or do any take out from Fredricks again.

Terrible experience. The waiters don t even care to come check on you when you come in. We were going to order the Szechuan noodles, but the waiter said it will be super spicy (even though we didn t ask her opinion). She recommend we order the Singaporean noodles which was trash. Tasted like a bunch of curry powder was poured on the noodles. The waiter never came and checked on us throughout our meal. Once we were done I had to flag down another waiter for them to give us the bill because our waiter was no where to be seen. Worst place to eat ever. Save your money and time. Go to Hakka Legend instead.

Bad food, terrible service! Extremely disappointed! After reading these misleading food blogger reviews we went to try Frederick s and ordered hot and sour soup, chicken Chowmein and king pao chicken. Starting with the plates. They were super dirty. Hot and sour soup was anything but hot and sour. It was so cold and when I complained to the waitress she said this to my face should I reheat it . I mean it makes me question was it even freshly made. The chowmein and kung pao were hot but they were so bland. The kung pao chicken was just ketchup like the soup and a very terrible one I must say. (The color of the dish makes you not want to eat it) Went in at around 8 and was out at 8:20. Imagine food served and tasted in that time. Usually it takes 15 mins to just prepare food. NEVER RETURNING!

Great place for hakka food. Brought my two (loud) kids and no one had a single problem. Staff were super friendly, even to my son who kept dropping his spoon. More parking in the back, some posts say its hard to find parking they probably didnt go around to see the massive lot.

went there for lunch on a friday around 2pm, was not busy whatsoever and the worker just asked us to sit down anywhere which was fine because there was barely anyone there. then she just gave us the plates, utensils and water but did not say anything while doing so. she literally just threw the menu on the table as well and left. no one even bothered to look our way for a good 30mins while we were there, even though there was practically no one in the restaurant. could not even find our server, only 2 cleaners were there cleaning the tables and that was it.decided to just get up and leave. i would never go to this place again, felt completely ignored and just forgotten about. would recommend the markham location so much better, we went there instead after leaving.

Honestly, the food needs a revamp everything tasted bland the rice tasted old and hard. I like the people that work there but honestly the food really lacks to a hakka standard.

Tasty food served quickly with good portions. Great value for the money. The takeout service is amazingly quick.
