not even worth for 1 star, cheaters, they dont listen to customers need, you had to take what they give. I asked for Masala fried rice spicy hot, what I received was Manchurian fried rice with zero spicy, the taste was totally blunt, when called and asked for the lady at the reception was too rude arguing that the rice is a masala rice. I have been to many Chinese restaurants, I know how exactly masala rice tastes and Manchurian tastes. horrible experience, money wasted

Restaurant has been here for years and has never disappointed. The owner is very friendly! Food arrives incredibly fast, cooking in only 5 or so minutes at max. Its all delicious and Im here every week! They have a TV in the main area and the interior is colourful.

I recently went to the Hot wok and I tried dry chilli chicken. Literally, it was so good and tempting. If you guys are look-in for chicken must try their dry chilli chicken. Overall, the staff was so polite and humble. Besides this, they often launch lots of offers in every month. Now they have special offer like if we order 2 similar dishes then they will give the second same dish for half price. Vegetarian options: Chilli paneer

It was my good experience as the food was delicious and atmosphere was too good. Arwinder kaur served me food and she was so kind. The whole staff was working excellent. The location is good 7 progress ave, Scarborough . I ate haqqa noodles and many thinngs more. I will recommend everyone to visit there. Chilly chicken, manchurian chicken was best. If youre looking for some delicious Asian food for pretty genuine pricing, then this is the must to go place. The food is so luscious and blended perfectly with the ingredients that can make your mouth water. Furthermore, the employees over there are also very kind and welcoming. Came here for the first time; my girlfriend and I. We sat down, the waitress came to our table and asked if we were ready to order, we were not so she left without offering us anything to drink so I had to yell across the dining room if she could bring us some water. She brought us water to the table but the water was cloudy as if it were from the tap. So we were a bit grossed out by the fact we were served tap water at a restaurant so we left.

We have always been coming to this place since 2 years and food had been fine always however, when we visited this place recently, the owner of the place who claims to be the one since last 20 years has been rude and had a very unwelcoming body language and rushed us while taking our order. The way he spoke was so disrespectful and disgusting tat we could not bear him for another minute and did inform him that the Hot Wok use to be a much better place when his son use to run it.

Man this place told me ten minutes for 5 dishes . I was surprised. I picked up in ten minutes. Man it was smelly like its was spoiled like few days old the smell is horrible. I would re think before I order at this place

Chili chicken is the best

The food here is really good. I really enjoy the sweet and sour chicken with Shanghai Noodles I highly recommend this place.

I don t know if they are trying to cut costs or cut corners on ingredients, but the quality of their food is noticeably gone down, The coating on chilli chicken is soft and soggy, almost falling off from the meat, the spice level is very inconsistent as well, their steam rice is actually bitter, looks like they are using real cheap or expired quality rice, This review is after trying several meals so I don t think I will be going back again.

Right around the corner of Kennedy Rd and Progress Ave, this restaurant claims to be an authentic Indian Hakka Chinese restaurant but it is nothing at all like it. First of all its very congested and theres no place to wait for your takeaway. Even the the seating tables are placed so close to each other its hard to walk around. I had ordered chicken fried rice and masala chicken over rice. Fried rice had peas in it, with no bell pepper or onion. The masala chicken was just a dry chicken dish with just red chillies placed over white rice. The chicken was way too chewy and seemed stale. I do not recommend this place at all.

Always love the food here but something really special happened yesterday... They forgot to include one dish in my order which I only realized after getting home. They were nice enough to deliver the missing dish to my home. It really speaks to how nice the people are. They are my absolute favourite Hakka in Scarborough.

Not very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I lived in Scarbrough for over 20 yrs this was my place for dinner every Friday night for myself and my family. Recently moved to OSHAWA was in the area i passed by to buy 2 chili beef 2 chili chicken. It was not very tasty as before the beef had no taste what so ever. The quality of food has dropped drastically from what i remember from before. Dont know if theres no management or not . But i surely with never buy from there again!

3 star as the food is the no.1 deciding factor. I ordered 3 items as take-out. In 2 items, didnt have enough salt and had to add salt. Was pretty spicy. Though it said spicy but didnt really expect that much. Overall, I wouldnt say its bad, but it could have been better if a little more attention had been given to prior packing. I have been going to this restaurant for the past 3-4 years. Sadly, I must say the quality of the food has expelled substantially. It is a disappointment of what kind of food I was served from this restaurant today, without any apprehension. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Hakka Beef Noodles, Chili Chicken, Stir Fry Beef and Chicken Corn Soup. A complete waste of $75. All the dishes except the soup taste burnt (as if cooked in a burnt wok). The noodles tasted like burnt with an extraordinary amount of black pepper (not edible). Food: 1/10 Recommend: 1/10

Ambience was ok Chilli chicken & friend rice was amazing!! Soup & manchurian fried rice was ok We didn t enjoy the masala smell in the Manchurian fried rice. Over all it was pretty good value for money Quantity was good.

Ordered chicken 88 noodles, it was horrible. Said Indian styled but they mixed soft chicken with boiled noodles. Besides everything, there are sprouts in noodles.

We spent so much money and when we ordered take out we didnt even get sauce packets and there food tastes like garbage and when we asked for extra spicy it wasnt even spicy not even a dog would eat this trash food and the service is terrible I am never coming back again never take your kids here. A place for a quick tasty lunch

I bought lunch special - Chilli Chicken dry with fried rice. They cooked the chicken in old oil which tasted like fish. It was disgusting. My 4 yr old daughter ended up throwing up and we ended up throwing the food out. Never going there ever again!

Food is excellent no doubt but the customer service is the reason i am writing a review for the first time. John always gives best service, he once even waited after his work hours for us to pick up our order. That means alot!

I decided to order the Manchurian chicken and chilli chicken dishes to enjoy a tasty meal at home. However, I must say that I was extremely disappointed with the overall experience. Both dishes turned out to be exactly the same, which was quite perplexing and left me feeling unsatisfied. To make matters worse, the food lacked any distinct spices or flavors, making it taste utterly bland and unappetizing. I was really looking forward to savoring some delicious Asian cuisine, but the tastelessness of the food was a huge letdown. Moreover, the worst part was finding bones in the so-called boneless chicken. This carelessness in the preparation of the dishes is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the restaurants quality standards. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. It is essential for restaurants to maintain consistency and ensure that the food they serve is both flavorful and bone-free, especially when offering boneless chicken. I genuinely hope that the restaurant takes my feedback seriously and takes necessary steps to improve their food quality and avoid such disappointments for future customers. Until then, I will be looking for other options when craving Asian cuisine for home delivery.

Quality can be improved ..

This was my second time coming to this place and i got take out both times. First time i ordered, the food was good but definitely could have improved in their quality. Today i went and asked for 2 hakka chow meins, 1 singapoori chow mein and 1 box of spicy vegetable fried rice and only got two boxes of the right order. Instead of giving me the 2 boxes of hakka chow mein he gave me 2 different boxes of another chow mein (after me mentioning multiple times that i want the red chowmein) he still ended ul giving me a yellow colored one. Owners should be more cautious before preparing and giving the wrong order next time as it s not cheap and i payed $56 for half of my order being wrong, i suggest that everyone checks their orders before leaving the store as i realized my order wasn t accurate after i arrived back home. Please improve your service.

On November 14th, 2013, at 11:30 am. It was my 1st visit at that location in Scarborough. I noticed the owner walked in and opened the restaurant at 11:30 am. I was the 1st customer. I ordered chicken manchurian with plain rice. After 10-12 min, I was served with fresh chicken manchurian and 1 day old plain white rice. I was so hungry and had no choice but to dine in for half and the rest of the food for takeout. The rice was not heated properly. I was very disappointed at this location.

Usually get the Singapore Noodles, Chili Chicken (dry) and chicken fried rice. Just an easy meal for the family. Always fast and freshly cooked.

if I could give 0 star I would. My order was so poorly packaged that soup spilled out and was all over the food. Only one plastic bag was provided to hold all the food and everything was cold. NO CARE AT ALL. When I called the restaurant to tell this the guy was extremely rude and unprofessional - the took no responsibility of the poor packaging and blamed the driver instead. I dont normally write reviews but my experience so bad that I thought I would share. If you order from them ask them double bag and package it properly to avoid disappointments.

I have been a customer for a long time here but the quality of the food has rapidly declined and I have been coming here less and less Its over salted, no real variation from dish to dish and its a constant let down when I order. I hope the owner makes some changes to his chefs because he loses too many customers

I highly recommend this restaurant for really delicious Indo-Chinese joint in Scarborough region. I have tried multiple places but this place by far beats all the other places. Staff is very polite and helpful to make modifications to your orders. The owner himself gets the work done to make sure standards and quality of food stays consistent. Quantity of food hasn t changed with this location as other restaurants have cut down on quantity. Thanks once again for feeding my belly and satisfying my cravings.

Wow very impressed, I ordered Szechwan chicken on fried rice, chicken was all good quality and portion was very satisfying. Removed 1 star because they didnt give me Szechwan, they gave me chili chicken. Still good but not what I ordered. Im definitely coming back here and if they get it right the next time Ill add a star. Try this place. Edit: removing 2 stars. They got my order right this time. But I ordered something costing $8.95 and they charged me $11.35 ($10 + tax). Is that extra dollar worth the negative reviews? Shady business practice. Ill find a new spot.

Have known about this place for years and now finally decided to stop in. Portion sizes were on the smaller side. Fried wings were good but could have used more salt. The actual pieces of chicken in the chili chicken were way too small and half the container seemed to be onions. Special Fried Rice was underseasoned. They were quick to get my order ready, though.

Just found out that the owner has been lying about this being Halal place. His certification is false and his supplier is unknown and his word is unreliable. Therefore, Muslims are warned from eating at this place.

I grew up eating at Hot Wok since a child, their flavour has been very consistent. But the quality of the meat they use has been very bad recently. Please change your meat supplier! The flavours are delicious but the quality of their meat makes you feel sick.

I woke up and started my day fresh at work only to take lunch and receive a plate full of salt. I ordered general tao on fried rice and let me tell you, there was nothing general about that tao. I even let my coworkers try some only to see the disgust in their faces. Seems like the chef tried to mask his faults by acting like salt bae.

Ordered their classic chili chicken yesterday and it was awful (not hakka style.. tasted like regular chicken with some chilies and oinions added) I have been eating here since the early 2000s and I was shocked at how the taste, and quality has declined. Ordered food June 6th, got chicken and broccoli, chicken not seasoned, soft, Tates boiled maybe. Terrible. General Tao chicken, looks nothing like the picture at front, tastes terrible, chicken Choi men has no flavor. Spring inedible. I literally have to go buy more food. Dont buy food here

Solid hakka food

I dont know if its because it was a Monday night, but thats no excuse. The food was terrible. I ordered fried rice and deep fried chicken wings. The chicken wings were so old, hard, and refried to the point where they were too hard to eat. There are a lot better Hakka Chinese food places in Scarborough. Never again.

Hot and sour soup should be renamed hot and bland soup. If something is described as crispy be prepared for it to be soggy instead. I used to love this place but I think the chef must have changed or something??

A very disappointing experience with this place..The chicken chilli dry was burnt out and looked completely black and tasted worse..the chicken fried rice was bland and had no taste. Chicken szechuan gravy was also equally bad. I have never had Chinese food worse than this.
