Excellent food, awesome place for meat lovers. Great menu variety, definitely worth the visit. What i would have loved is to grt proper cutlery for meat. When asked for, I got a pack of plastic cutlery which I had to put aside and use my hand. Also, recommend that the owners invest on some clean water jars.

My work ordered from here for Christmas dinner two years in a row now. The food is mediocre at best, bordering bad. Its not an authentic BBQ as there is no pulled pork or ribs. The sides are bad. Just stick to shwarma and kebab, this is a prime case of cultural appropriation.

The experience has always been beyond phenomenal. You can see the effort that has been put into ensuring the food is top notch . From the wing, brisket , sandwiches hands down the best!! I also used his truck for my kids birthday, everyone was blown away. Thank you for the best smoked meat food in all of Toronto !

Initially, I had left the review which you can see down below, which was a one star. After contacting the owner of the restaurant, I am very happy with the service that I have recieved the second time that I ve came to this establishment. The owner was very responsive and took initiative and made amends with complaints made in my previous review. As per the burger. I had the apple chipotle brisket sandwich. It was warm and melted in your mouth, served with home style fries that were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. To anyone looking at this review, I d highly recommend that you take the ten extra minutes of dining in, and not doing takeout when you come to this restaurant. I can now say, that Northern smokes lives up to the reputation that I was told that it had. The food quality here is excellent, and the taste is even better. I will be coming again.

Food was really good no doubt. However, the person taking the order could have saved us more than $150 easily for our group had he prescribed us the best deals for our big group. We were shown to order everything separately in which we had to pay for every small items too. Customer service is all about making sure customer is getting best bang for their hard earned money. Mac n cheese / Coleslow / jerk chicken sandwich and their beef brisket

We troed their family platter of $144 and it is literally the best bbq meat platter ever. Everything from Their Angus brisket, BBQ back ribs, dino ribs, korean short ribs, mo treal smoekd meat, sausage, pink smoked chicken was amazing. Also loved their cornbread, Mac n cheese and cheese fries. The portions are pretty good as easily 4-5 people can demolish this platter.

Every time we go we are never disappointed. It is a pricey restaurant but definitely worth every penny. I honestly wished theyd open a few chains around the city (West end, Downtown, etc) but this is by far the best smoked BBQ place ever.

Every time I ve called these two locations they never have anything available. No Montreal smoked meat, no corned beef no pastrami, no ribs. Only a select of smoked smeats available. Like why don t you close down your store for the day if you never have the main items available to your customers. I ve tried to support this chain and support the halal friendly restaurants but this restaurant has lost my vote. Will be going to chain smokers from now on.

The team at Northern Smokes must have a magician in the kitchen. They re slinging out some high quality, delicious bbq. Briskets, mac and cheese, sandwiches, you name it, everything here is a home run. Cherry on top, they re Halal! A true Scarborough gem.

Went to order a platter of meat, was told it would be a 40 minute wait. How does it take 40 minutes for bbq is beyond me.

Brisket was amazing. ( Tried Angus Brisket) Best in the town. Tried ribs - but that was disappointing.

Ordered for takeout via their website and was pretty easy to navigate. Unfortunately, they didn t include their scalloped potatoes in their online menu that s weekend exclusive but that s ok. Their food was good/tasty overall; however, the cornbread was a tad bit dry and so were their ribs. The other sides we tried (Mac n cheese, beans, coleslaw) were all good too and their BBQ sauce was yum. I d definitely return for a dine-in experience and try their other meats as I ve thoroughly enjoyed mine (brisket plate)! I mean, it s a Michelin-reviewed restaurant. It has to be worth it, right?

Simply great bbq! Had 1 lb of Angus beef brisket and 1 lb of beef ribs. Both very tender, juicy and delicious. Not used to having such thick steak like cut of brisket-but it was so tender it pulled apart so easily. No sauce and doesnt need it! The bark and ring was visible thru the container. Beef ribs slipped cleanly off the bones and was so tender as well. It was one of the quietest meal shared, except for the constant this is so good!!. Def would recommend..dare I say: its even better than the rib fest and avail all year round

Highly recommended ...... wait time could be long owing to limited space at the location, so better to call in advance to check for space ... DON T VISIT NORTHERN SMOKE RESTAURANT | That s it - they re done | I m well travelled and dine out on both the days of any given weekend with family | 13 as a number/date never work for me and so this month on 13th I decided to hit Northern Smoke at their Scarborough branch as a sure shot since I ever enjoyed their food | But this time it was all wrong - cold food, extreme dirty restaurant, waiting for 10 minutes to serve cutlery to start eating, no attention at all for the customers, let alone an apology and a shut down restroom with an open bin on the floor. I m not worried about the $176 I spent, rather a brutal continued reality of such restaurants to fail in short course of time | They messed it up big time

Korean ribs, chicken wings, corn jelapno and coleslaw were amazing!! Poutine and brisket were meh. Cashiers were very nice. Food : 4/5

Overhyped, Not Worth the Drive. With a Michelin recommendation, you d expect something special, but this spot was just okay. We tried the Meat Platter and Korean BBQ short ribs. While the flavor had a decent smoky taste, the meat quality was disappointing. The Korean short ribs, chicken, and beef rib were good, but the tri-tip was tough and poorly cut. Sides? Skip the fries a total letdown. The mac and cheese was bland for adults, though my kids liked it, and the jalapeño butter corn was the only real standout. Maybe the sandwiches would be your best bet? Overall, not bad, but after waiting over an hour and traveling 30 minutes, it s not worth a return trip.

Have always been very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. Thee is always a long wait when eating in but that is understandable because they tell you when order. Placing an order on the phone, most times no one picks up. Next option, place order online through their website. Complete the Oder and make the payment. Only after does it tell you pick up is after 1 hour. Totally unacceptable if you had to be somewhere else. Owner s have to take responsibility to update app to provide lead times before making the final payment.

Amazing customer service. First time trying this restaurant and ordered ahead for pickup. Ordered the pulled brisket sandwich which was amazing and tasty. They smoky flavor was awesome and their in house sauce on the brisket left me wanting more. Definitely going back to try more items on their menu. Do order ahead as there was a lineup to pickup orders. Highly recommend restaurant.

We ordered their Sample Platter 1 - Beef and Chicken to be shared by 3 people. Food was served fresh and quickly. Everything was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every item on the platter and left very satisfied. My favorite was the brisket, which had a thick coating of the seasoning charred on the outside, and the fat was rendered. We got jerk chicken seasoning because they ran out of peri peri chicken. We didnt mind at all and really enjoyed the spices on the chicken. It had a kick to it. We will definitely be returning to try more items on the nenu. Asif was very helpful with the suggestions and was friendly to deal with. Great experience overall. We ordered the small platter option 2, and the brisket was the juiciest and most tender I ve had in Toronto. I visited the scarborough location. The staff were very friendly and the food was flavourful and tender. There was a 35 to 40 minutes wait after ordering .it would be nice it the wait time could be reduced a little. Other than that it is an exceptional restaurant

Brisket sandwich is wonderfully seasoned and balanced. Everything else is made well, including ribs occasionally you get McDonalds style fries. A little out of the way and hard to find, but worth it if youre in the area!! Will be back to try the chicken and Mac and Cheese

Food is ok, but i wont be going their again for food since rest of the experience is just bad. This place is filthy, sticky floors, messy front desk. Broken door closer, and instead if fixing it, they have put up a sign please close the door very slowly which most people dont read. Bugs hovering over my food, a random wasp flying around, and i had to calm my kids down every time that wasp visited our table. This was the situation of dine in area, i dont want to imagine how the kitchen area is doing. Entire place needs to be put in a washing machine and cleaned inside out. Then the food prices and portions are no way justified. The platter they said will serve 3-4 people came with three slices of bread and three ribs, so definitely doesnt serve 4 people. And it costed over 100 dollars. So 4 persons cant have a proper fulfilling dinner/ lunch in 100 dollars here.

This was easily some of the best bbq Ive ever had. All the meat was so tender and juicy. The brisket Mac was flavorful and rich without being overly cheesy. The service is fantastic too, alhamdulillah Im very happy to make the trip out for some halal American bbq

Nothing comes close to the quality, flavour, cooking style and attention to detail here. Brisket, pulled Beef, and ribs ARE TOP NOTCH! Their sandwiches are underrated.

The quality at this place has definitely declined. I was quite disappointed, especially with the service. The person at the front desk came across as insincere and had a forced attitude. Edit- changing to one star, gave them another chance ordering take out this time, ribs and brisket were terrible. Praying the owner takes notice and makes a change to go back to the smokes they used to be.

Great food at reasonable price. The place totally hopeless. Entry door had a broken door closer. The floor was uneven, if you are using two tables they will not align. Poorest quality of furniture. Poor quality of fork and knife, be careful there are not only of poor quality but they are reused after rinsed not washed. YOU get the cheapest quality of paper plate to eat your food, no napkins, in place of napkens cheepest quality of kitchen rools are placed on tables. Washroom door lock was broken, washroom was dirty. So this is not a place to sit and eat, just pick up your food and take it home. The food is very very good 5 star

Food was amazing, they actually put the wrong sandwich in our bag, called us back, just as we were exiting the door. Gave the wrong sandwich for free. We were barely out the door. Also, we left, drove out of parking lot. My daughter, realizing she lost her wallet. Circled back around, she went in and they handed it to her! Food & service is so good!

Since then I wanted to try this restaurant and finally last week I landed here ( from Mississauga) and ordered All meat platter everything is well cooked and delicious I personally loved the brisket it was exceptional keep it up

Food was ok. We ordered a platter. A little cold when brisket was served. Not many halal brisket options so it was ok. Service was really good people were nice and respectful. The place is also ok as the ambiance is not the priority but the food. I would recommend people to try it. You never know may be you like it.

Encountered their food truck at the Canadian Food Truck Festival in Toronto. Ribs were delicious however the Fries tasted suspiciously similar to McDonalds Fries

Cant really complain. The platter was great with the brisket, tips, ribs and chicken. Cornbread (a little meh) and beans (spicy!) Family member said the brisket was a little dry and I found the ribs a little too grisly for me. Still, Id go back here again to reorder just brisket or chicken.

The food here is delicious. The price is steep but understandable for smoked meat. We were however SHOCKED at the tiny portion sizes for the sides when we spent over $200 dollars on the family platter that feeds 6-8 people. It came with 4 sides (these were individual servings NOT to share). The cornbread came with one tiny loaf I needed to split between four people and all sides came in those small round containers. We will not be ordering sides in the future. It says you can upgrade to large sides for an additional 16 dollars which I would have done had I known that they were individual portions. They really should serve 8 small sides for a platter that apparently feeds 6- 8 people. Overall the family enjoyed their meal, but felt reserved not to take too much and could not try everything.

I wanted to eat here for along time but did not have the time to travel today I made and the place was empty then it was full. I order a pound of Angus Brisket and my wife order the Meat Plate. First taste impressions were so delicious!!! My wife surprise me when she said to me this is exactly what I wanted to taste she was referring to piece Korean meat sliced thin , amazing flavour of hickory plus I spoiled myself with mash potatoes. For drinks we had a grape drink and a Jarrito Strawberry soda. Our hostess (Humera)was very kind and had a table for us within minutes but we were lucky because I was told this place gets busy. And it did after we sat to wait for our meals. Amazing experience I will come again soon. Prices were reasonable!!!

For a family party/picnic we ordered jerk and peri peri chicken with beans, corn bread, potatoes and the food was sensational. Chicken just the right spice level, fluffy cornbread and tasty beans. Thank you for a lovely dinner. Highly recommend.

Its a bacon rib near the Scarborough School District. I asked the clerk to recommend it and ordered 4oz Brisket and 2bones Beef Back Ribs plus two sides, which was enough to fill me up. The cornbread was surprisingly soft, and when paired with syrup, it went well with rice. The meat sauce had a relatively balanced smoky flavor (because I was a little unaccustomed to the sweet ribs before). The guy also let us visit the roasting area and enthusiastically introduced that brisket needs to be smoked slowly for 8 hours, and the meat is soured at low temperature for 6 hours to ensure that the gravy can be locked in. It is really a paradise for meat lovers

Visited Saturday 29th June. Excellent food as usual (3rd time there) and great service. Loved their 2 new summer drinks mint lemonade and the ice tea. Food quality is always same what i love about this place. Thanks and will be back.

I dont know where to start. I brought my brother, parents, aunt and uncle to this place to go out of their comfort zone and try some classic American style food instead of rice and curry. EVERYONE was incredibly impressed. We got Family Platter 1 which came with brisket, ribs, and chicken as well as fries, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and cornbread. This was one of the best meals Ive had in a long time. The server was very kind and personable and the ambiance was nice. I loved all the NBA decor. 11/10 spot.

Fantastic brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, corn bread, and chilli. The wait time is a bit long but DEFINITELY worth the wait! Will be coming back, can t wait for more.

We got the meat platter, first time trying Northern Smokes! Everything was delicious and well portioned. I m a big bbq enthusiast, I HIGHLY recommend their beef short rib, that was my favourite out of everything (among many great things)

After my first experience with Northern Smokes Im really ANGRY. Why am I angry you ask? Im angry that I dont have a second stomach so I could eat MORE of this delicious food. The ribs, brisket and babyback ribs were all outstanding. The bbq gravy was delicious, the mac and cheese and colslaw also blew us away. Our tongues and stomachs had an epic battle today. Our tongues kept saying eat more while our stomachs said please stop... Our tongues won and we ate every last bite. We had platter 2 between the 3 of us. Wish they had a downtown location where we live. The server was super nice too.

I tried the Angus Brisket, fries, and mashed potatoes. I waited about 1.5 hours to get the food after placing order.I had the worst experience with this restaurant. None of the foods were up to the mark.

Amazing , the smoke meat , chicken soooo delicious. I recommend every one to try it . We drove one hour just to try halal BBQ AND ITS WORTH.

10/10 meat was so tender. And the staff were so nice and accommodating. We came for fathers day and ordered the meat plate and peri peri chicken, the portions were good for 3 people. I would recommend ordering beforehand (kudos for staff for letting me know about wait times). We made reservations and ordered behorehand. Waited for 10 minutes not even, super quick. We were already making plans for coming again during the dinner.

I highly recommend this place for takeaway to shamelessly lick the bones and eat with your hands! One of the best smokehouse in the entire city and definitely the best halal option available in all of Toronto!

Im always looking to try new places and I remembered my cousin telling me about Northern Smokes a few months ago so off I went. Its located in a small plaza in the Highland Creek area, near Old Kingston Rd and Military Trail. Theres nothing special about its appearance, other than having almost all the window shades closed. It wasnt a very attractive look. I actually thought they were closed. The interior was just as sparse, with one wall covered in framed basketball pictures. Ordering is done at the cashier counter and they bring it to your table on paper plates, along with a roll of paper towels. I wasnt too starved so I opted for their burger (8oz) with fries and a drink for $15.00. It was a good sized burger, with decent flavour, but a tad bit overcooked for my liking. The thin fries were good. Oddly though, I dont know why it took around 30 minutes to prepare. Thats a bit long for such a simple order. Their Halal menu had beef brisket, beef ribs, chicken, wings, sausages, fries, and more. Flavours included smoked, BBQ, jerk, peri peri, Korean, tandoori, and more. The table next to me had a BBQ platter with several meats that looked and smelled good. Maybe Ill come back to try something like that. Food: 3.5 Ambiance and Service 3.0

I brought my parents and 2 teenage sons to try this local restaurant everyone had been raving about. We had amazing food at an excellent price! My parents had the corned beef sandwich, one son had the brisket poutine, the other had the hamburger, and I had the brisket macaroni and cheese. We were all delighted and STUFFED! None of us could finish our meals and brought food home for later. So happy to have this in our neighbourhood and will definitely be back!

Excellent food. Best meat Ive eaten in a very long time. Waiting for a table can be a pain. But apart from that things are fine. The service could be a little better but nothing that I would complain about.
