Patty Cake and Ice Cream in Scarborough

Was excited to try this for the food until a Roach came to treat me at counter when I was paying. And was instantly turned off, I m good don t want No roach infested food

Have been coming here whenever I m in the area but man has the food gone down. Got the large jerk and rice was just terrible. Please don t change what made you guys good.

I ve always drove past here and so I finally decided to stop in I ve been interested for awhile and I must say the food quality is amazing very flavourful and good portion size for the price but I must say I was disappointed that I waited quite a little while for food which if it was super hot and fresh I would ve been happy but as soon as I opened up the wrapper in the car my food was already cold so definitely didn t get the full experience I feel like other than that 10/10 spot

Yo these beef and jerk chicken patties are truly fire. Maybe best I ve had nice and fluffy with good spice and good amount of meat. drove about 30 mins for these after seeing these nice ppl on social media was for sure worth the drive

I am taking a wild guess but MOST of the positive reviews seem to be people that know them personally or people that just have no taste for flavour what so ever. Stale cocobread stale patties. The stuffed patties arent real stuffed patties if you have ever tried the original Mr Patty down at poplar road. If you know you know. If you arent a tiktok star dont bother going here as your food will not be fresh. As a person that was brought up with Guyanese, Trinidadian AND Jamaican family along with the food this is not authentic nor fresh. Ive tried to give this place a chance more than a few times and I was constantly disappointed but who am I. This is why I am finally writing this review.

I dont like writing negative things about places but the Im sorry the beef Pattys I bought today were terrible . Its waaay to flakey I never seen orange colour batter not spicy either I found it weird .The filling was barely nothing . Also tasted bland no gravy at all inside. It wasnt hot either. Which I didnt enjoy. Maybe the other stuff is good but Id avoid the patties. Stick to patty time theyre the best hands down in Scarborough..

I didnt take a picture because when I took my first bite I couldnt stop. OMG!!!!! I had beef patty in a coco bread with coslaw and plantain. I feel in LOVE. I live in Brampton and I wasnt complaining after I left Patty Cake. Thank you for Me happy.

Been a huge fan of this family-run halal Jamaican food joint from back when they were Rose s. So glad they re still dishing up jerk chicken and oxtail plates. Had to get everyone I know hooked so I made a catering order of my fav meals and guests loved every bite.

Hands down the best flaky buttery pastry on the patties here. Found you while doing a pick up for uber eats and tried a Jerk Chicken patty and the jerk chicken. Rice and peas were cooked to perfection, jerk chicken was tender, moist and flavorful. Coleslaw was creamy and an excellent side to the chicken. Looking forward to coming back again.

I order a month ago . I got a jerk chicken. There was hair on it long brown guy who made it . The owners are very nice people . It s the best halal chicken in the city. Just the staff gotta be careful and better. But still the best in the city . Service gotta be fixed tho .

A very barebones take out only place. Great friendly server and tasty patties made with a softer type of dough. Got the jerk chicken, curry goat and beef flavours which were all good. Didnt have much of a selection for cakes and didnt see any ice cream in the display cases either. But we also didnt ask. Kid-friendliness: Not really kid friendly since they didnt have any mild flavor options.

Stopped by for the first time and got the Jerk Chicken lunch special. There is also patty included on the side and the entire meal was delicious for an amazing price. Staff are friendly, definitely recommend this place and will be coming back.

I went to this place yesterday it was gross. I got the jerk chicken rice and peas as well as a chicken patty and coleslaw it wasnt fresh. It gave me and my husband diaherra and made our stomachs hurt and vomit..and untop of that I found HAIR in my food..such a turn off..I definitely will not be ordering or suggesting this dirty restaurant again...YUCKKK

I came across Patty Cake & Ice Cream while scrolling on Tiktok. I immediately told myself I ll be opening my fast with their food tonight. If I know something about Jamaican Restaurants, its that the Oxtail always finishes before the days over. Luckily they were kind enough to keep in consideration I was coming from Bowmanville and set aside 2 orders of oxtail for me, along with 2 jerk chickens and 4 stuffed patties. It wasnt so evident on the phone but when I walked into the store I was greeted by the nicest 2 human beings. Mother and Son duo. Sooo helpful and soo kind I cannot describe how happy just meeting them alone made me. We had a great conversation, shared a couple jokes and my food was ready. Once I came home and had a look at the food, bow was I happy. The servings are massive! I can see the mother and son showcase the values and fundamentals of business islam teaches. From great customer service, hospitality, & great value for your money. All in all 5 stars can mot cut how amazing the food and service is. Their jerk chicken and beef patties were amazing, oxtail was a bit bland though. They didnt have ice cream despite it being in the name. Othe than that, Id go back for the chicken.

Best location its right by bus stop enough parking the price is a bit high for the size e.g beef Patti is $2.50. The biggest downside I saw was the foods are not in front displayed so when you order they will go to the back and grab you one I found this weird but with the location their at and the flow of pedestrian they would definitely be making money.

Just went there today and got the lunch special. I have chosen the beef patty and a coke. The jerk chicken was amazing, great flavor with a great spice then follow up with a nice sweetness that complement great together. The patty was heavenly and a great buttery crust and well season beef. The rice and coleslaw was great too. The service was quick and nice. For sure coming back here with friends and by myself very soon. No more McDonalds for me. Dietary restrictions: If you are Jewish or Muslim great place to go and not break dietary laws.

The food is awesome, flavorful, and reasonably priced however, you will have to wait for quite some time for larger orders. I ordered 12 beef patties and it took 20 minutes for them to be ready. Im guessing this was becsusectheyvwere cooked fresh but it would be nice if they had a surplus already cooked to speed up wait times. The service was okay and the staff were friendly too. There is no seating for dine in so anything you order will have to be eaten at home or in your car. Overall, a pleasant experience and definitely go back again. Oh yeah, all food options are HALAL which is a plus!

This place is amazing, the food is so tasty and fresh. This place is so underated I would of never imagined how good the food is because most halal jamaican spots are not authentic but this place is. The food is a bit pricey but worth it because its all fresh and hand made. The place needs a little presentation help but other that AMAZING AMAZING PLACE.

Unbelievable how good this place is, I would give it a hundred stars out of five if I could!!! The beef patties were flaky, well seasoned and juicy. Oxtail was tender, juicy and falls off the bone ..the rice is cooked to perfection and so flavourful. The fried chicken is a story of its own .just so crispy, tender, sweet, savoury oh god it s just perfect!!!!! Cheesecake is just a perfect ending to the phenomenal meal. Definitely returning to this place. Rose and Shawn are the friendliest people in the entire restaurant industry, the smiles on their faces are worth the world. Thank you guys for this exceptional experience!!

I got the BBQ Chicken meal. I was told I had to prepare for a wait because they dont have it premade for quick ordering, and that is the right way to do it. The chicken was cooked to perfection, just falls off the bone. Im normally not a fan of sauces as I dont like getting messy, but this was the right amount of sauce and tasted perfect. Not too sweet, just enough of a kick to it. Beautiful. The rice and beans were also really well cooked, probably my favorite rice side Ive ever had. Im not a fan of coleslaw in general, so its not a dig at the cook that I dont enjoy it, its a personal thing. Overall, the food is amazing and if youre ever in the area of Eglinton Avenue East and Gilder Avenue, youd be doing yourself a disservice passing this place up. Next Im going to try the very highly recommended patties and see if Patty Time has met its match.

Amazing !! Love it, I haven t had a Jamaican Beef Patty for the longest time since it s difficult to find Halal Patties and if they are then it s the frozen ones from the grocery store. This is made from scratch and tastes simply amazing - nice and warm... s/o to Brother Esa and Abdul Karem. This is similar to the amazing patty s at Warden station bakery and Orton Park and Lawrence gas station (had it back in 2004 HAHA!) definitely recommend - I ve had various patties back in the days and I can say that this is amazing. And lastly it s HMA - so it s nice to see brothers supporting hand slaughtered meat because the Muslim community works hard to ensure that everyone has access to halal food.

Excellent patties - they taste homemade (in the best possible way). The pastry is light and flaky and the fillings are outstanding. I hope they figure out how to scale their production (it takes a little bit to fill orders if you just drop in) without losing what makes these so special. Went yesterday, Nik and Nik 2, got both the chicken and goat patties, they were excellent. Patties were full of flavor and have some heat so be prepared. Coming from the Caribbean, I know what the real thing tastes like and this is it. As other reviewers have noted, they are struggling to meet the demand, so wait can be long, but have patience, enjoy some ice cream, it is worth it. Our order was larger and took a while but the owner came out, was very apologetic about the wait and explained the recent press and social media coverage has blown them up. I hope people continue to support after the buzz dies down. This is a small business that is doing great things. Give it a try, expect a wait as they are making it fresh, you will not be disappointed!
