Food is good but service is not good even they charge 10% of bill for service

Too expensive food for a small quantity. I ordered a corn soup which they charge higher than most of the other Hakka Chinese restaurants and surprising came in a small container. This is an absolute rip off.

Shocked with the low rating.. been going here the last 10 years. Food always hits! The booths are cute. Service is okay but I still keep coming back. They work hard and I love the late night hours. Definitely reccomend

WORST PLACE TO EAT! customer service doesnt exist. These guys literally act like they regret opening up a restaurant. They literally behave like they never want to see you there again as a customer. Went there on a Saturday night, and the emptiness of the place shouldve gave me a message, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But I doubt I got any benefit from eating there. I Was with a group of 11 and it was a nightmare! They are actively trying to keep customers away. And theyre doing a damn good job at it. The chilli chicken came out like chicken Pakoras. They dont accept credit card, only debit or cash. We asked for pops, but one was unopened and we wanted to give it back. The man says we dont refund the pops even if its unopened because of covid. But behind the cashier theres all this pop just sitting there collecting dust and being used as a shelf to keep random papers and pens on. Lol. I just couldnt wrap my head around the whole experience. Never have I had a negative 1 star experience from anywhere.

Super Hakkah Restaurant Review Pharmacy and Eglinton Location I had a disappointing and frustrating experience at Super Hakkah Restaurant. They prominently advertise themselves as halal, with the word displayed clearly below their name. However, when I inquired about halal certification, they were dismissive and unwilling to engage in a proper discussion. After some insistence, they admitted that while they purchase halal meat, their restaurant is not halal-certified. This is extremely misleading, as many customers would assume the food is fully halal just by looking at their signage. It s deceptive to market halal without proper certification to back it up. I will not be returning, and I encourage customers to be cautious. Very disappointing!

terrible, 20$ on bombay fish and i got about 10% fish, 90% hard rock solid pieces containing no fish whatsoever, what a joke

Update 2024: I think I am officially done with this restaurant. Went to have dinner with family. Customer service has hit rock bottom. Most likely because now they add 10% service charge regardless of how they treated their customers. During our visit they didnt pop to even ask how things were. So I am assuming they charge that fee to bring food from the kitchen, and then throw few empty contain to pack the remaining. Washroom was dirty so certainly not included in the servicing fee. To make matter worse, store doesnt accept MasterCard or global debit cards anymore. My relative wanted to pay with their debit card from Australia, and the lady at the counter rejected to even try it on the terminal. The card worked fine everywhere else including dollar store. So not a pleasant experience from start to the end. Its sad to see this restaurant go down like this. Anyways, there are better options available now. One is right off the street and one at Eglinton and Maccawen (wok and fortune). Better price, better customer service. Wont recommend super hakka to any of my friends or family going forward. The quantity is no doubt good but it felt like all the dishes had the same flavor. If you are looking for food without quality and huge quantities then surely visit this plan. The food taste amazing and the portion sizes are very filling! Great place for a family meal, can t wait to eat there again! My kids loved reading the fortune cookies after the meal!

We went there for lunch. At the entrance, the owner will welcome you by saying theres a 10% surcharge if you dine in. We went in, sat down, and asked for the washroom, which is underground. The taps werent working, and there was a rat in the washbasin. We came up and told the owner, who responded rudely and said something we didnt understand. We felt it wouldnt be a good experience eating there, so we were leaving. The owner took the tissue paper, telling us we shouldnt take it if we werent eating. We were so glad we left the place.

Had late lunch there today. Service was super slow, food was just drenched in soy sauce. Such a bad experience. What a waste of time and money. Won t recommend it to anyone.

Sketchy restaurant with rude staffs. If you decide to dine in, they will welcome you with a hostile stare. Far be it you don t order as soon as you sit down, they will ensure you are aware that the 5 minutes you require to settle in your seats is a disruption to their entire day s operations. Don t bother asking any questions about the food you order either, they will make sure you re aware that asking about their menu is an inconvenience to them. Doesn t matter what dish you order from the menu, they all taste the same. Servers also do not know how to politely communicate to dine-in patrons when they have had enough of you. You will be made aware, nonetheless, when the servers begin aggressively grabbing and slamming plates and utensils off your table. Cash or Debit payment only. They will give you a hard time if you want to pay with credit card.

I have been a loyal food fan since 2016. Over the years the quality and freshness of food has declined as well as the service and portion size. I understand the economic conditions may prompt this but the excess use of sodium and poor ingredients is no excuse. They now levy a 10% dine in tax mandatory. I was forced to tip while still experiencing poor service. I attempted to speak to the waiter about the decline in food and was ignored. Ordered : house special fried rice which was clumpy and soggy, Bombay fish which was 40% batter. The prices of fish which used to be fillet were so small I thought they prepared chicken by mistake. The wonton soup was ok just overall salty. And the veggie spring rolls were still decent. It seems that their focus has switched to take out as the in house service was subpar. I think if they are going to operate in this way they should remove some in all together. The last time I catered an event from here was in Feb 2023 and I dined in yesterday and won t return. Super Hakka Halal improved by a lot quite recently! I dined-in with my friend for dinner. We ordered Vegetable Hakka Noodles and Chilli Chicken. The Vegetable Hakka Noodles tasted really good, while the Chilli Chicken was delicious and packed with flavour. Our order was also prepared and served to us within 7 minutes. The portion size at Super Hakka Halal is much better than all of the other Hakka Restaurants in Toronto. Keep it up!

Customer service over the phone was horrible the lady who answered the phone talk to me very rudely and would not listen what I was saying she mistook me for a different person with a different and when I explain I wasn t that person she didn t apologize and didn t care. We go often. About 6 private booths and open concept of tables and chairs. The staff are friendly and efficient. They are busy to very busy. Rarely wait for a table or booth. My little pet peeve is the soda-pop is somewhat warm, so oder a glass of ice. The portions are huge. Communication is wonderful. 10% tip added to bill. We usually give an additional 10-15 %. On their very busy evenings, they should have 1 or 2 additional servers.

Amazing food always consistent with quality, portion size and taste. Dont be fooled by the outdated decor this place is cozy and warm and its really worth sitting down even if there is a 10 percent service charge to just sit down and enjoy your meal fresh from the kitchen!

I have been coming to this place for past 4 years now, the Chinese guy is nice and polite but the lady seems to have an attitude problem. We ordered Bombay paneer, however when she served us it was hard and cold, so we asked it replace it with a fresh one, she didn t give us any replacement. Mind you we ve been here several times and we have ordered the same dish majority of the time and we know how it tastes, she was very rude and denied any replacement, very disappointing.

I got the honey garlic chicken. Noo, not dried chicken. I opened the container and had a very funky smell. I took one bite and it was disgusting. Soggy, wet, dried, no flavour at all! I would never recommend this place to even my dog. $18 and I couldn t even eat it.

Worst experience ever!! The person who was attending the customers didnt know anything about customer service . We went there for dine in. And the moment we walked in the guy didnt say hello or anything the first he said was 10% service charge which was pretty weird to hear the moment you walk in. I have been here since 2017 and this is the best Hakka spot compared to all others in terms of both taste and quantity (a combination that usually dont agree with each other at all other spots). Good value for money you get with such chonky-perfect portion that can make your heart happy, and taste that can make your soul super floofy and calm! What more do you need, eh? :) Thank you Super Hakka people, truly; I wholeheartedly recommend! Bombay Chimkken (with Hakka Noodles addition / upgrade)... their 7-star, golden good, chonky-squishy, crispy-smooshy, perfect food! If God chooses to try this dish, He better choose this place!

Really tasty food with lots of vegetarian options and food delivery is faster and you can choose your booth for private dining. I found fried rice was oily but delicious. All the prices are really cheaper compared with other Chinese restaurants. Definitely recommend Veg Manchurian, Bombay Paneer here.

Im a regular at this hakka restaurant and let me tell you, this place is great. Ive never had an issue with anything. I usually order Bombay chicken with hakka noodles or Manchurian chicken with hakka noodles. Food takes like 10 minutes to get ready and the portions are very generous. Probably the best hakka place in GTA. Its my favorite cuisine and i tried a lot but they stand out. Halal. All hakka menus are the same but their food tastes better compared to others. Do not expect exceptional service because they are designed to operate economically, best option is take out.

One of the worst experiences of dining in my whole life, The lady owner is so arrogant and so rude. So we ordered food and after waiting for 25 minutes the food arrives and it is all cold. So we asked to re fire them but they microwaved the plate and brought back and upon asking whether this is microwaved she started arguing despite admitting her mistake. Please go to this place if you want to have a horrible customer service experience and the horrible food. Never had an experience with such rude and arrogant owner.

The food is really great here, the portion sizes are good enough for two people. Shanghai beef noodles (thick) is what I generally prefer. The staff here might appear to be a bit rude, thats the only downside. The food is tasty, people dont have keep coming back. Weekends can get crowded, they charge 10% service charge for dine in. The do party orders and if you need food for 20 people. Say food for 16 or so. The food would be a lot to be honest what they provide. They only accept cash for party orders. The only accept debit card for in-house dining. I would recommend the place.

Delicious food, cozy vibe and big portions! had the chicken lollipops along with Bombay chicken dinner and chili chicken dinner both with fried rice. 1 dinner order is more then enough for 1 person. The rice had a kick to it which was different than other hakka spots. Highly recommend!! The seating booths made you feel like you ve officially left Scarborough/Toronto definitely going again to try their fish and beef!

BE CAUTIOUS IF YOU EAT HALAL- Went is because it said they are halal. When I asked where they get their meat from guy said it is from Al-Mahdi (a calendar he has behind the cashier desk) when I asked if I can see certificate or invoice he got defensive and told me he doesn t want to serve me any more (just want to say that it was 6:30pm and restaurants was empty when I went, so I was not being disrespectful or disruptive). He got fidgety, and did not want to tell me where they get their meat from, just kept saying I don t want to serve you. Anyway, after asking my party where they want to go now, he changed story saying they don t buy from the calendar place they have not bought from them for a while and they are now buying from Costco. Again not wanting to show any proof. If you are looking to eat halal, please be cautious as they are acting very shady about where they buy their meat from. Needless to say we left and don t plan to return unless they become HMA certified. I say HMA because at least with HMA, they give certificate to restaurants and muslim are reassured about the authenticity of meat. May Allah keep us on right path Ameen. By far the worst aspect about this place was the service. It was AWFUL. The main server lady greeted us by saying you have to pay a 10% service charge. When we were eating in our booth, she didnt come to check on us even once. We had to go out and ask for extra knives, plates, etc. She was also RUDE and treated customers poorly. She needs to be properly trained. Foodwise, only the bombay chicken was decent. The rest of the food was mid.

Their food is good but HORRIBLE customer service. The servers are extremely rude, have no manners, acts as if customers are causing them inconvenience lol. One server threw a fit when we asked a question about recommendations and asked us to leave when we called him out on it. Ive been ordering from this place for years! Its one of my favourite restaurants and in my opinion the best Hakka place in Scarborough! The food is amazing and the staff is great! I havent dined in that space for over 10 years but it used to be a sushi place before they were there. It has the exact same set up as I remember with the private booths as well. My recommendations are: -The hot and sour soup -The Chilli Fish with gravey -The Fish Pakora -The Egg Fried Rice

This spot used to be THE spot for hakka. Not sure if they changed the cooks or the ingredients but the Shanghai noodles are no longer the thick kind. And the hot and sour soup is a total flop! It doesnt have the thick consistency it should have and its not sour at all :( so disappointed I need to find a new hakka joint

This place deserves a 0 star. I called in my order and the owner was so rude. I asked if he can please pack chilli oil with my food and he said they don t have it. I Ignored his attitude and picked up my food anyways. I get to the restaurant and see the chilli oil on the tables. I mentioned it to him he said no that s only for dine in very rudely. I said I would pay extra for it and he refused to give it to me. I ve never been to a place that won t give you the chilli oil and it s only for dine in. I said to him I ll never come back to his restaurant again. He was so arrogant and said he didn t care and had previously blocked someone else s phone number who had said that. Get home taste the food and it was awful very spicy to the point you can t eat it. We had the Bombay chicken, Manchurian Chicken and noodles. Noodles weren t spicy but the rest was we couldn t even eat it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Wish I read the previous reviews before going.

Food is disgusting they have changed everything about it. It s not good like it used to be. Their attitude and service now matches their food AWFUL. Avoid this place unless you want to get sick

I was at this place today to order some food for my family. I ordered by phone, and the owner picked up. At first, without even telling me to hold the phone, she was talking to another customer for almost more than a minute. After, I repeated my order a few times as she didnt understand what I said. Then, she started giving a bad attitude and didnt even show a minimum service manner. I dont recommend to buy food from this place, especially by phone.

Waiter yelled at my son because he was talking to him and they only accept cash or debit. Very bad service and rude waiters.

Really super Hakka!! I tried multiple Hakka places in GTA but this one stands out of them all. Awesome food. Not too spicy but just enough for my liking. Reasonable prices and good quantity. I love their Bombay chicken on fried rice combo, Bombay fish, chicken Manchurian, Spicy garlic fish on fried rice combo. I used to order on Uber eats until recently when I went for dinein. Dine-in was a better experience as the food is served hot and fresh like it should be.

GARBAGE RESTAURANT DO NOT GO THERE!!!!.ITS NOT HALAL!! They have really bad attitude, they insult you, rush you to order whatever they want you to order, when the food comes and if you complain, they don t listen. Food is really bad, chicken smells weird and has plastic taste, will give you health issues later on. Atmosphere is from the 70s, old dishes, old tables and pretty sure ceiling has mould on it. You will have to get up and get water and utensils yourself, they charge gratuity REGARDLESS OF THE SERVICE check your bill. CHICKEN IS NOT HALAL! THEY DONT SHOW YOU PROOF! AVOID THIS PLACE.

I placed an take out order, I dont mind waiting for food but the guy at the reception I think he should learn some manners. He spoke rudely and me confirm the order as picked up, that was okay with me too, when I received the food and came back to the car and opened the bag I noticed that the cutlery was missing. So, I went back and asked for a fork, instantly that person replied I packed the fork with the food, Again I told him it was not in the back then he told to bring back the bag to him! I was astonished by his audacity! Then I told him to stop being stupid and give me the fork. Then he gave me the fork and told me not to back in the restaurant again!

Ordered a Bombay Chicken lunch special. The chicken was like fried and fried for many days. Looks like the old stock getting recycled. Had to throw it out and never will go anywhere closer to that place. Disgusting!

Very bad food quality and very bad service. My wife and mom got food poison by having Manchurian dry and Bombay paneer. I call the restaurant they are like you bring food back and we will see and if we feel we ll do exchange not return. The food was simply amazing! Their vegetarian Manchurian balls with gravy is simply THE best in the GTA.

I ordered from super hakka on thanksgiving from Skip the dishes. We waited for 40 mins for the order only to receive half of the order delivered. After contacting the restaurant, the manager denied that there was an order in the first place in-spite of providing the complete details of the order. She was in cooperative and was not ready to listen. She also kept us on hold for 15 minutes. THE SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.

customer service is cheap. She saved $5 and lost business of 12 people for lifetime.

This is very good and affordable restaurant. The food is very tasty and the quantity they give is also good, We have been there like couple of times. Howevey, I would say that the staff is a bit less polite in terms of customer dealing and straight faced. Their service is professional but like robots...guys you should smile more n talk a little politely However overall its good..i will go there again.

Nice tasty, Hakka. Staff are nice and helpful. Reopened after the pandemic. Now they accept credit cards for payments with 3% extra charge.

He literally came out to tell us not to come back to the store, that shows what type of guy he is. This is not the first time i had a issue with this guy. We ve been coming here for years but after today s experience of essentially being forced out, we won t be returning. Go to Amazing Hakka across the street for much better food and service. Male server claimed that there are customers waiting to be seated (even if there were, paying customers shouldn t be getting kicked out within <1hr of our arrival), even though there weren t any customers in the store, and we were forced to pay our bill and leave. Take your business elsewhere to where they ll value you as a customer.

Food is delicious. Tried most of the items on several occasions, and all taste good. Only complaints for the staff, mostly 1-2 servers taking care of full restaurant and either you get served after a long wait or they would forget you asked for something. I still visit coz the food is tasty.

The food has always fluctuated between decent and good at this restaurant. However, the service is absolutely terrible and the staff is extremely rude. The employee behind the counter literally told me he doesnt care when I told him that he should not be charging me for the food and drink separately because he forgot to add the charge.
