Now, I normally don't write reviews for food court vendors but after what my parents told me about how they got the take-out brunch back home and how they do business overall (the customer service sector) is a top reason why to never service this place again. I'm putting out a PSA out there for future customers to save their wallets. What happened was that aside from it being overly priced and not reasonably affordable, the owner of this vendor also seems to have problems with their attitude or hearing or repetitive habits or all 3. My mom specifically told them that she doesn't eat lamb, and she wanted the beef brisket gui lin noodles. For some bizarre reason, when it came time to order, the cashier knowing she just said she doesn't eat lamb somehow HEARS that she said she wanted the lamb brisket noodles instead and then proceeds to yell at her and go: you just said you don't eat lamb, why would a person who doesn't eat lamb ORDER a lamb noodle bowl to go? If that's not his attentive listening gone to the trashcan, I don't know what to call it. Apparently, my mom said it's not the first time they've taken orders wrong or given attitude to customers. The last time my mom went to service this place, they got the milk tea order wrong when she said she wanted less milk and no sugar. They've essentially habituated to make EVERY cup WITH sugar because they've done so routinely for every other order because I guess very rarely do people get milk tea with double less milk and sugar. So basically, my mom didn't eat the brunch and gave it to me because I'm the only person in the family that can tolerate having lamb and goat products. Don't waste your time going here if you don't wanna be disrespected.

Terrible quality! Ordered Portuguese sauce but getting curry sauce. Chicken meat was water boiled.

Had a craving for "chicken steak" rice. Had one dish with "white sauce" and the other with tomato sauce. Both are casserole. Chicken leg meat on a layer of fried rice. I had take out as opposed to dining in the food court. The cashier was friendly but she forgot to ask if I wanted sugar in my lemon tea. You get a choice of drink. I had soup and lemon tea. Cost for the two dishes is $20.30. Not bad. I used to frequent this place around the time of the pandemic. The "owner" was a short female, also friendly. From the other reviews, it disheartens me she sold the business. Prices did go up to reflect on inflation. Wish you luck "previous owner".

Great tasting Hong Kong Style food. The owner was the former co-owner of Red Tea House and started this business a few months ago. Quality and portions are good and prices are fair. Similar dishes to Red Tea House. We ordered the beef brisket with rice and hainanese chicken., both served with hot or cold drink.

New owners as of 4 days ago. Great food at great prices. Will come again.

Do not come here. It’s a total rip off. First of all, my order was $6 +tax, which should be $6.80 in total. They charged me $7.35. Second of all, I asked for sunny side up for my eggs when I order, the server even repeated my order back to me. They ended up giving me two cooked eggs, and shouted at me for not telling them before I order. I Will never come back

If the review is just about the food, then I would give up to 4 stars. Price is average. However, there are a few worrisome aspects. We saw the staff taste a cup of milk tea, set the spoon aside, and then mixed the cup of tea with the same spoon after adding more tea. Given how we've gone through over a year of pandemic, you would expect a little more attention to be paid to hygiene. We also saw one of their staff in the kitchen with the mask not covering their nose.

This is under a new owner/management. There is a wider menu and no extra charge for milk tea/soup. This practice has apparently improved their sales(longer lineups). However, the food isn’t quite as tasty compared to others in the same food court. Malay curry pork chop on rice is so diluted and no curry flavour. I probably will stay away for awhile then to see if the chefs’ have improved. Good luck.

New management... Baked pork chop with tomato sauce, so disappointing. Green beans and minced meat with rice, good!

Their food is super authentic and delicious, and the aunt at the counter is also very polite. It only costs $22 for 2 dishes, and rice and soup are given for free. I will come again next time.

The new owner has taken over, and the food is delicious. Every meal comes with a hot frozen drink, and the dishes are delicious!

Waited almost an hour for 3 dishes around 6 PM. We kept asking if the order was ready... they said no, and the food ended being on the counter already for like 15 minutes... Dishes were mapo tofu, spaghetti with meat sauce, and Kung pao chicken. And the pork bone soup was all water... had to throw it out. Food was okay. Cheap price, but not worth the service or wait-times.

The food is mediocre and its not as good as other food court food in the same place. The portion is a bit small and the taste is not very good. Not enough flavours. The price is ok but then there are other food in the same food court thats better for the same price.

Like many others experiences, Taste of Hong Kong had very big shoes to fill... That being said, my dish Braised radish beef brisket was a big fail. The flavours were a little washed out and that was not the main issue. The radish in the dish were sour and when I brought this to the shops attention, they did not seem to care... enough said. Next, goodbye... I will definitely try out the many other shops in the area and not return after this experience. And no, it did not taste anything like what I remember HK to be besides the attitude

I ordered pork chop buns for takeout. When I returned to the office building to eat, there was no pork chop

I want a box for one dollar nb The attitude is very bad and the taste is very bad

Been coming here regularly for their baked pastas. Recently tried their Guilin noodles (fantastic). Their curries are great - definitely a must try for fans of curry rice. Service is always excellent. I think they also upgraded their complementary soup recently, because its been consistently excellent.

One of the better places for Hong Kong style Western food in Scarborough. The price is reasonable and always seems to be busy during the day. I find this place better than similar restaurants around the area. Highly recommend ordering the curry pork chop with egg on rice.

Fast food stall located inside of Chartwell Mall. It serves hong kong cafe style food - so a bit of everything from breakfast combos, simple sandwiches (egg, egg w/ham, corned beef, club, pork bun, etc), noodles (soup or fried), rice, baked rice or pasta dishes - each dish comes in well under 10$ and usually comes with a hot beverage or - a dollar or 50 cents for an upgrade to a cold drink usually. They have daily specials. Portions are quite large - so great bang for your buck. Their chinese curry rice is one of the best Ive had recently, and is quite the treat! If you like baked rice / pasta dishes HK style -theyre all pretty good!
