Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant in Scarborough

We went to this location for their breakfast buffet. The food was fantastic with plenty of options and wonderful coffee! The dosas were amazing. Bijita , our host took great care of us, we will definitely be visiting again!

Breakfast Buffet was good. The service is amazing with a great team. On top of it, illayaraja song on the background, couldn t ask for more heartfelt breakfast.

I went yesterday with my friends for dinner and it was so delicious! I ordered one of their thali meals and I really enjoyed all the small dishes and how generous it was. My friend got the paper dosa with ghee and it was really buttery and crispy. I will have to get my own next time! Also, the servers were really friendly and nice. Vegetarian options: Plenty of veg options.

The food and service was really good.

Aravinth provided a great service. Food was great, namely the butter chicken and mutton. Crab soup was amazing!

Food came late but it was not bad. What annoyed me was that the staff were rushing us to empty the table- they had no issue when we were waiting on the food but as soon as the food came they treated as if it was a drive through. Horrible! never going back!

The place was packed on a long weekend Sunday. But we were seated within 5 minutes. Food took more than half an hour to get served but the taste made up for it. Everything was fresh and tasted great. Service was fast. The servers were very attentive and were very pleasant. Portion sizes could have been a bit larger for the prices we paid. Overall, it was a great experience. Would recommend for south/north Indian dining.

Its my first time visiting and I will definitely come back. The food was good, fresh, and the portion size is also good. A big shout out to my server, Trilen ( Im not sure about the name), a very nice girl with a bright smile. She gave me a really good service and I saw how active she was with every table she served. Give this girl a raise.

Terrible experience overall. The chicken biryani smelled awful, and despite informing the server, there was no response or effort to address the issue. No replacement, no refund, and we had to pay the full amount for food we couldn t eat. On top of that, their Anjappar Special chicken gravy was extremely watery and lacked flavor. Please never ever try this place!

Today we had a breakfast buffet. Pongal vada sambar coffee were really good. It could be better if idly and vada are made bite size. Also some more south indian tiffin like Appam, kuzhi paniyaram may be introduced.

Pratha is really good, Went there with friends, we tried mutton chukka masala with pranthas, it was best. Service is great too. Was disappointed with biryanis though.

Food was amazing and service was great.

The bun parotta was amazing. It came hot and fresh. The Anjappar chicken masala gravy was mid. The mutton chukka Briyani was also mid. Only thing would be to make sure the orders are all put through if it s final call. They missed one of the orders and couldn t put it through afterwards and no other alternatives since the kitchen was closed.

The customer service needs improvement. There is a huge wait time between the order and delivery. We have to remind at least 3 servers when they have forgotten to deliver one of our order.

My family and I have been coming to Anjappar (Scarborough Branch) for at least two decades. The owner Mr Vijay is one of the kindest human beings we have met in the food industry. His hospitality and kindness cannot be found in any other restaurant in Toronto. This in itself is a reason to come to this place whenever possible. Today, in particular, we had the privilege of being served by Emi, one of the most friendliest hostesses at the restaurant. She always had a smile on her face and ensured the food was served with excellent customer service and quality. We also met another excellent hostess, Srinidhi, who is very hardworking and likely clocks in several thousand steps a day. Thank you Mr Vijay and team for your tireless efforts of maintaining this restaurant and servicing the South Asian community. Your cauliflower 65 deserves a special mention! Twin Doctors + Parents

Not my first time here; this is one of our go-to dining spots. Today, we had an amazing dining experience at Anjappar! The mutton bone soup was incredibly flavorful and hearty, with the perfect blend of spices. The chicken koththu parotta was deliciously rich, and every bite was packed with authentic taste and texture. Rilin made the experience even better with her attentive service and warm hospitality, ensuring we had everything we needed. If you re looking for a place that serves authentic South Indian cuisine with top-notch service, Anjappar is the place to go! Highly recommended.

Been here more than hundred times over the last few years and the food is top notch always! Not one south Indian restaurant in Canada is as consistent and exceptional as Anjappar Chettinad. The Service Manager has always remembered us since our first visit 6 years ago, and has gone out of his way to ensure that guests are taken care of, well. Anjappar is my go-to for good food from the cuisine of Tamil Nadu whenever I am around Toronto.

I am a frequent customer at this restaurant and whenever my friends are visiting, this is their first choice for grabbing a bite. The service is excellent and the place is clean and easily accessible. The food is delicious but a quite spicy and I do wish some dishes could have the spice levels adjusted to customer taste. Overall my experience each time I visit has been wonderful. It does get very crowded and is a little loud certain days/times of the week. The staff is very accommodating and efficient and they are extremely pleasant to deal with. Overall I would recommend this to anyone!

The food was amazing but the one thing that stood out for me was the service by Mirra. She helped us with the menu, was very patient and friendly, always had a smile, and suggested bun Parotta and Mutton chukka masala which was delicious. Amazing experience! Will come back for sure.

Mirra was excellent in delivering a great service to us. She was polite and explained the menu so well. The food was amazing too, we tried few appetisers and Thalis and Kothu parotta which was delicious. Our server also mentioned that tha mango hot sauce was prepared in-house by her manager, which is a must try!! Anjappar is my go to place for both food and amazing service!!

Aravind provided excellent service, attending to all our needs with a cheerful attitude. The atmosphere was calm and added to the authentic Indian experience, perfectly complementing the food.
