I recently dined at this Indian restaurant and was blown away by the fabulous and amazingly flavorful food. What sets it apart is the perfect balance of spices not too overwhelming, unlike some upscale places that can upset your stomach. Its a hidden gem that I absolutely love, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. A delightful dining experience overall!

Unknown hidden gem in Toronto

I visited only twice but the server always says i am busy and don t ask for more sides just place mains as order. I ordered chole bathure and i asked for one more bathura then he said no i am busy i can t make you one more and this happened today as well. Is this correct, I understand i also work at food chain but you can t say no to the customer. If you don t want to serve just say no and close the store for walk in.

Vegetarian options: I tried Samosa chat and chana bhatura. Very delicious and mouth watering. Firstly, I thought the food will not be as great as I expected but after trying, Its worth it. Staff is so polite and respectful. Must try once.

Had the Chole bhatore from this place after checking on Google. The restaurant is located in some dingy looking commercial area, but dont let that discourge you because the chole bhatore was awesome!! Very tasty, both bhatura and channa curry were fresh. My advice to the owner would be to replace that green chutney with actual achar. He can buy it in bulk from any Indian store and dispense it in the same small container in place of that green chutney. Total price: $9 Very good deal! Keep the good work Uncleji. I shall return back for sure! Thank you.

Vegetarian options: This place has been around for over 35+ yrs. We happen to visit it after 10 + yrs, as craving for some Indian snack. We were so happy that it still exists! It s a hidden treasure! We happen to order their Lunch thali with 1 roti n rice, ordered an xtra roti + 3 veg curries, Channa masala, Daal Makhani and Malai kofta. The gravy was very tasty but the kofta was disappointing! Otherwise very happy with the freshly prepared food splly the rotis Finished with a hot cup of chai, bought jalebis to go, has an oil taste therefore not the best. And an Aloo paratha to go as well that was yummy. Thanked Mr Ram for still being there and a good place with a lot of variety if craving for some veg or non-veg food, do surly visit this quaint little place if in the Progress n Midland area!

Went to this place based on the reviews. I got a tiny container of Alu for $5 and the same tiny container of dahl makhani for a whopping $7!! Both were 4 ounces!?? My kids did not like the food at all as the food was overpowered with too much spices. Would not recommend the veggie curries as a good deal either. Parking: Located in an obscure parking lot.

Hidden gem , a treasure for excellent punjabi style food. Only 2 tables. But best dhaba taste food, healthy fresh home made. Chana bhatoora (dark brown chole gravy), bhindi, ghobi all too good unlike any big restaurants taste . Ellesmere and midland hidden in industrial plaza. Mutton curry was better than other places too. Non n veg thali must try. Will come again.restaurant mostly pivk up n catering but Should put 3 tables more and open a proper location in markham... must try for takeout .. Vegetarian options: Excellent tasty gobi, bhindi,daal. Not like any big restaurant. Fresh taste unlike any....

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst place. First they messed up my order. Then started calling me fighting about that it was my fault that I took the order under my name. The man talking on the phone was horrible and has zero sense on how to talk to people. They should probably learn how to talk first and give customers good service.

Going to this place for 40 years now. Its always a great tasting food. Very courteous owner n chef. Food has taste to it. Its always busy so have to order in advance. Excellent quality. Love its food. Delicious as ever. Love getting food from there. Place looks n feels dirty. Its conditionally passed food inspection. May too much rodent or insects infestation. Vegetarian options: All sorts of vegetable curries available. Wheelchair accessibility: No wheel chair access.

Best Indian food for take out at reasonable prices...love it..

Very bad experience with this place. Doesn t even deserve 1 star. Waiting 25 minutes for 8 samosas. The person working there didn t wear a mask, so I asked him to wear a mask and he refused to do so. He smirked and said he doesn t have COVID. The entire place is not following COVID protocols and shouldn t even be open.

This is one of my favourite places to get food in the GTA. Delicious food, good prices. There is always a bit of a wait so if you are prepared for that, it is worth it.

Food was OK, but the place was not clean and things were broken or at least looked broken.

It s a gem of a restaurant hidden among other shops. The family who run this restaurant is very nice. Aloo parathas, Gobi paratha and namkeen lassi is a must to try and you won t be disappointed with the taste. Chana bhatoora, samosa are delicious as well. I ll definitely try other items next time. All items are reasonably priced when everything else is getting so expensive. I would recommend to place an order on phone and to do a take out as dine-in area is very small just enough for 4-5 people.

Absolutely our favourite place to go for Indian food. We have been coming here for at least 20 years. The owner is incredibly nice and greets you like a friend. Super hardworking and family owned.

Delicious Indian food. The owner was very pleasant. I asked him to reduce the amount of oil in the cooking and he ACTUALLY did. The food was not greasy like how Indian food can be. Great food! Better than many restaurants I have tried in Brampton. Only negative was hygiene and cleanliness. We saw bees and flies on the sweets and the smell was making it difficult to eat there. However, the food quality actually surpassed all the negatives. We imagined as if we were sitting in a small old town sweet shop in India..haha. Owner was definitely a sweet guy..

Honestly speaking I collect the order yesterday it was the worst food I have ever eat till yesterday It was butter chicken and chicken karahi With roti and naan Roti and naan no butter it was hard when we come back home And salad they gave it smells bad tested too Such a bad experience Never ever going back and recommendations to anyone to visit

I tried chole Bature and tea. It was just normal, if youre super hungry only then go to this place. My friend tried butter chicken and he hated it. He got it with bones. We tried Rasgulla also, not worth going to this place specially.

Great desi food at reasonable prices, kind of a hole in the wall place tucked away in a strange place. Lots of sweets options too, very tempting. Their parathas / naans are the best Ive had - had the onion and mint (pudina) ones and they were really flavorful.

Everything Veg was amazing but everything that we got for non veg was very bad..we got chicken tandoori and other chicken items. It seemed as if the chicken was not marinated properly and most of the chicken from inside was pink (meaning it was not cooked properly) anyhow, the service was good all the veg stuff that we got were amazing

I tried veg thali and tandoori chicken. Tandoori chicken was the worst we ever had. In veg thali few items are good and some are really tasteless. Such as paneer, malai kofta and channa was good, however daal makhni and few other were not good. Also, the place is very dirty, don t even think dining in there.

Well, this place is a hidden place! I am glad I found it. It s our go to place now and food tastes like home. The place is small and hard to find but I just cannot stop talking how amazing the food quality is. Variety of Indian sweets are available ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The place is very hard to find in the first place when you are about to go for the firsttime. :-) Hats Off to the Butter Chicken! North India Style. You can have it made mild or very spicy. I would say this is an authentic NORTH INDIAN style food.

Best butter chicken I have tried in the scarborough area. Dal Makhani was delicious too. Cant wait to try out their other dishes. Dont be disheartened if you find it difficult to find the spot as its tucked in between other industrial shops in the rear. Treat to the taste buds. MUST VISIT

Decent Indian food at a fair price. They dont have a large menu but they do serve veg and non-veg food. Call and order before you go because they tend to take a while to get your food ready.

Best place to pick up samosas and absolute best Channa bhatura in Toronto. It s not a sit down restaurant it s more for takeout.

Cant say enoygh good things about this place. The owners are very nice and makes fantastic food. Had their goat meat and chicken briyiani, which was cooked to perfection. They have a huge selection of Indian sweets which are all made in house. This place is a hidden gem. Definitely worth going.

MUST TRY - *Butter Chicken* (as close to moti mahal daryaganj you can get in canada), *Chana Bhatura or Chana* (almost as good as Sitaram paharganj) & Lachcha Paratha (karol bagh quality ). For a foodie who has tried Banjara, Moti mahal, Kwality, Brar, Host, Khazana, etc. This take away can beat most of them in taste+value. Delhiites and foodies need to visit and order a - *non veg thali with butter chicken, chana, kadai paneer and lachcha paratha ASAP! (Skip the rice and ask the roti to be substituted with paratha) If you enjoy this, thumbs up the review, i will know The chef is an old man who actually used to work in the famous Delhi CP area restaurant Bengali, decades ago. This place has a loyal customer base since last 40 years in the GTA area when there were very few indian restaurants. I have seen other restaurant owners getting food from here.

The restaurant is a bit tough to find. Small setup. Chicken tandoori was okay. Parathas taste good with curd. Also for sweets, kaju barfi wasnt good whereas ghujiya was amazing. Mixed experience. Would consider visiting again if Im around.

Ok, so my family has been coming here for YEARS Whenever we are craving Indian takeout, this is usually our first choice. This restaurant is a little tucked away in an industrial unit, so its great for takeout, not so much for dine in. I usually call ahead to place an order and in about 20-30 minutes the food is ready. Standout Dishes: Boneless Butter Chicken - one of the best! I love that the gravy is not sweet, its actually savoury and isnt as heavy as your typical Butter Chicken. Goat Meat Kebabs - SO GOOD oh my goodness, their Naan Kebab special is reasonably priced, it comes with Naan, Kebab, a little pickled carrot & onions, and chutney Malai Kofta - Just like with the Butter Chicken, a similar gravy is used. Its not sweet, and is actually savoury. Its one of the best! Aloo Ghobi - It has a spicy kick to it! Daal - A really tasty Maa Ki Daal made with black lentils. Mattar Paneer - Great taste! the paneer is always fresh! Chole - I love that it is a semi dry gravy,so its not too wet or too dry. The flavour is also amazing! ( You can also order the Chole Bhatura, and its phenominal ) Motichoor Ladoos - Hands down the best in the city! Honesty, they are truly so delicious. Theyre always soft, sweet and have the best flavour. The portion sizes are also great, Theres 5 of us in my family, and we always have leftovers whenever we order from here.

We found this little gem while staying in Scarborough for a hockey tournament, and boy are we glad we tried it. The owner/chef was fantastic with our children and the food and desserts were great. The butter chicken and chicken tikka were amazing...Smokey from the tandoor oven. A young professional was their and mentioned that her parents had been taking her there since she was a child(and they were from india). Cant beat that!

Not sure how this place survives, but I ordered a simple channa bhatura, and it came promptly, and fresh. The prices are really reasonable as well. Would go back again to try a bigger dish. Awesome food

Been coming here for years. The food is excellent and delicious. Prices arent bad either. Since its take out the prices are 20% or so cheaper than dine in restaurants. Been eating malai kofta here for years. Its best with the pickled carrot and onions and green chutney with naan. Only issue i got is the guy is very stingy on the green chutney! But once u try it u get hooked and need a lot to satisfy your tastebuds.
