The staff where great but the food lacked taste. I ordered Gobi manchurian and Chilli paneer and they both where tossed in the same sauce i couldnt even taste any difference. The mirchi bajji was average and the tomato mixture bajji was the worst. There was no flavor to it.

I recently dined at Sowjis Indian Cuisine in Toronto, and I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic flavors and variety on their menu. Sowjis offers a wide selection of South Indian dishes, which is a treat for anyone wanting to explore regional flavors. I started with the Chicken Lollipop, which was crispy and perfectly marinated with spices. For my main course, I tried the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani a standout dish with fragrant rice, layered with spices, and generously portioned. Finally, I ended the meal with Irani Chai, which was one of the best Ive ever had!

Ordered chicken biryani as a test but very disappointing. Biryani is suppose to be one part spicy but many other parts flavourful. This was straight up too spicy and lacked any other components that makes actual biryani so good. Would not recommend

We visit Sowji s regularly. It s always a good experience. But this time veg noodles and chicken noodles tastes good but are spicy. And I found the veg noodles quantity is a bit less than before. Other than that all the items taste good. We got chilli chichen, chicken noodles, veg noodles and Tomato bajji. Tomato bajji and chilli chicken are nice.

Hands down the best place for Hyderabadi food in Toronto. I had punugulu (savoury deep fried dough) , Mirchibajji (Crispy fritters) and chilli chicken. The punugulu here are amazing, they were crispy and the tomato chutney to go with it was tangy and perfect. The portions/quantity was excellent for the price. Definitely my go-to spot for street food cravings. Going to try the biryani and fried rice next.

We visited this place today and ordered punugulu, tomato bajji, and biryani. Everything was absolutely delicious! For a moment, I felt like I was back in Hyderabad. The food was amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend ordering the Hyderabadi dum biryani with double masala it s just like the famous Shahgouse biryani in Hyderabad. This is my genuine review. For theor food i travelled 60km to taste their punugulu, where i didnt find at any restaurent in GTA. Really its worth travelling. The food is very tasty. Almost I went past 11:30pm, but also they gave me fresh food. I took takeout of mirchi bajji, punugulu, tomato bajji mixture, and mysore bonda. Everything tasted very good just like back home indian food, which I have been missing since I moved to canada. Their tea is just amazing, must try . For sure iam going to recommend their restaurant to all my friends who loves to try all the snack items. In telugu language we say eraga tesasaru Just tasting like a wow wow wow. Next time iam gonna try their lunch and dinner menu also .

I visited at approximately 1120PM (closes at 1200AM) and the best part is almost everything from the menu is available. For me, all the food items (quantity and quality) were good. Also, Cajun chicken, Mirchi bajji and chicken fried rice are my favorite. Overall the food tastes so good.

I give 5 for their efforts of replicating dishes of Hyderabad. Biryani, Egg Puff, Onion Samosa and Chai are must try. Mirchi Baji, Chat, Punugulu and Mysore bonda are descent. One suggestion for the restaurant would be trying to improve and refine Chinese menu/dishes

The best HYDERABADI chicken dum biryani in Canada. If you like Mehfil, ShahGhouse, Sarvi etc., back in Hyderabad..this is the closest taste we get in Canada. Tried a total of 8 times and loved it every time. Ordered with double masala though. Very well cooked rice, great masala and very tender Chicken. Not a great fan of other items like bajji and fried rice..they were really bad and bland.

Amazing take out place for authentic hyderabadi food. We got a party order for biryani and everyone loved it. The taste is very authentic. It is different from other biryani places in Toronto. Definitely everyone should try. Portions are also very generous. Should also try Irani chai, and other snacks like bajji, punugulu are also very tasty. It is a take out place only with a couple of benches in the patio. There is parking behind the restaurant

We had chitti punugulu and Mirchi bajji both are not up to the mark. They served hot but they are lacking salt. The atmosphere is not welcoming. Definitely need an improvement for the chutnies All the best.. you can do better than this...! Will meet soon again to revise my review.

I just ordered food from here. I had no idea what I was doing, but I decided to gamble on this place. BUT WOW. I ve never had irani chai before, but honestly it was really good. I was born in Canada and haven t had real Indian food before. I ordered the mutton and chicken briyani. I asked the lady at the counter to make it a little less spicy. She did. The lady working the counter was very kind and taught me how to eat it properly. Thank you. Great spot in Scarborough.

I really enjoyed the aroma of the favour and the texture of the chicken cooked and loved the mirchi salan. I do have tired some of the starters they do taste good. Best chicken biryani and Irani Chai and not to forgot mirchi bajji.

Ordered the mirchi bajji with the mutton biriyani from UberEats and I was highly disappointed with the quality and quantity of the mirchi bajji. From the pictures posted online, the Mirchis appear to be quite large and fill the container, but the one I paid for yesterday was tiny and definitely not worth it for $6.99 for 2 pieces. Also, the chillies were quite small and this was mostly batter. I don t think im going to be ordering from here if this is the type of food I m going to be receiving. On the other hand, the mutton biriyani was overly spiced which almost made the rice bitter. I love a good biriyani and im always down to try a new version from different restaurants, but this was not it. A lot of the mutton pieces were bones as well so it s almost like the UberEats orders get the discarded items where as the regular take out orders get the better stuff. Will not be ordering from here again. Not only has it left a bitter taste in my mouth literally, it has left it figuratively as well. EDIT to respond to owner: Oh don t worry, I won t waste my money at your store anymore. Thanks for the suggestion

I tried Hyderabad Mirchi Bajjis and Irani chai here. The bajjis are crispy and truly the best we can try in Toronto. I tried chai last time as well, and it was really good. But this time, the milk was very thick and hard to drink. However, it still had the flavors of Irani chai.

It s not a place for dine in but for take out it s awesome. Although, not sure why the prices are set exorbitantly on UberEats :( Overall, LOVED IT!!!
