A Italian restaurant that sticks to tradition of using fresh ingredients and from the heart cooking. From our in house sauce to our in house dough, IL Fresco wants you to experience how you felt eating at your grandmother's house on Sunday afternoon.
Ordered the gnocchi with Skip. May as well have boiled myself some grocery store gnocchi. It wasn't from scratch, and the sauce was overly salted. I had to drink a swimming pool just to recover from the few bites I took. I had to "fix" it by rinsing off the sauce and adding a spoon of tomato paste. Gross, you might be thinking, but it was better than that inedible sauce. My dad had the veal parm. It tasted like the oil it was fried in was reused from previous days and meals. My ancestors have been utterly insulted; my nonna just rolled over in her grave.
Purchased a meal online to take advantage to buy a pizza or pasta dish and get an appetizer free. My girlfriend and I ordered the spaghetti bolognese with Caesar salad and the Margherita Pizza and bruschetta. After getting the food home and having our first bites it seems that Il Fresco doesn’t have alot of pride in how they make their food. My Margherita pizza was burnt and for the price, should’ve just gone to Dominos. The Bruschetta was loaded with cheese so much you could barely taste the bruschetta itself. My girlfriends spaghetti Bolognese was bland. Definitely the last time ordering anything this place.forst pic is a burnt pizza and the second pic is cheese overloaded bruschetta.
We were looking for independent dinner or restaurant in the area and this place looked interesting. The food was decent and reasonable price. Speed was as you would expect. Both our dishes were tasty and portion size was certainly fair. Server seemed inexperienced in restaurant service, but was polite and friendly. In time I'm sure she will get better. Decor is very underwhelming. An odd mix of 80s restaurant tack on the walls and 90s modern seating area yet still very very minimal.
Ordered pizzas for everyone in our party. It was cooked well, looked/tasted good and flavourful. Vegetables looked freshly chopped, One of the better thin crust pizzas we've had. Place has been around for a long time hidden in a strip plaza on Kingston - we finally decided to check it out. On a Monday night was practicality empty and quiet. Service was good and waitress was pleasant. They even gave our table a surprise and delight extra. For absolute clarity pizza oven is stone not wood fired.
I used to frequent this restaurant pre-COVID and always felt it was a hidden gem. I moved closer to the city and hadn’t been back for years but wanted wood fired pizza and wanted to support an independent small business. I believe they must have changed owners since 2019/2020. There was an odd stale odour when we entered and the decor was lacking any sense of ambiance. We ordered the anti-pasta miso to share as a starter. This was always a favourite of mine. Sadly, the olives were poor quality, there was still the plastic casing on some of the salami,(3rd pic) the “Parmesan “ was that weird stuff in the green and red shaker can on grocery shelves but definitely not “Parmesan “ 1st pic). It was served with a sweet sticky bread (2nd pic) and a side of margarine. There was a drizzle of balsamic reduction but no salt, pepper or olive oil. I asked the server for some olive oil and salt & pepper. She seemed confused, went in the back, searched around the bar and brought some canola oil and a S&P shaker with salt that I had to take the lid off and stick my straw in to break it up. (4th pic)) My water had something floating on top that looked like mouse poop and when I asked for a new one.. it was like it was a regular occurrence… no apologies or embarrassment. The carnivore pizza and the seafood pizza were the saving grace. Nice, thin crust, wood fired and tasty. However , this is no longer anywhere close to “authentic “ Italian. Prices are reasonable, pizza is decent and likely a great take out option when you’re looking for better than chain/franchise stuff.
This place is definitely a hidden gem for Italian food for their quality & price We came here on the Friday night near closing time and tbh quite sad to see they have no customer inside with this quality of food. The price is SUPER AFFORDABLE for Italian and the food is nearly authentic, everything is super tasty and big portion. I don’t even want to mention about their three-course meals special price, its really hard for find that price nowadays overall & this is Italian food. The server here is super friendly and knowledgable. Overall experience is 10/10, we will definitely come back. I hope my video & review can bring more customer to them because I personally think they’re totally worth it and people should hear about them more.
Enjoyed a great dinner here with my sisters! The pizzas we got were amazing! The caramelized onions we got on our pizza was spectacular! The service was excellent too! It is the first restaurant since arriving in Canada in which the waitress checked up on us and gave us a refill on our drink (tea)! That was much appreciated! I definitely recommend this establishment :)
The food was surprisingly decent, reasonable price. It took a bit long for the food to come to the table, but we were there on a holiday so it was understandable. Staff seemed not much experienced in restaurant service but they were extremely polite and friendly. Plus, their tiramisu was bomb! I will visit them again!
We ordered from skip the dishes. The salad and pasta were great but the pizza, described as having bacon and ground beef, was covered in onions. Im allergic to onions and would have liked to have had them in the description considering they were the most prominent ingredient on the pizza. Not impressed.
A diamond in the ruff!! Excellent food, always fresh, creative combinations, large portions Clean with great servers Food : 5/5
Pasta was way too salty and tasted like something you could just make nothing special at all. Veal barely tastes like veal.
Went there for dinner tonight. Pizzas were fantastic. Hands down the best pizza north of Brooklyn, NY. Also had the chicken with cognac and mushroom and it was Delish, definitely worth many more visits. Decor needs updating badly.
Very good Chicken Parm with pasta. So, l ordered the 3-course dinner and, along with the parm, both the soup (Potato Leek) and the Tartufo were great. My family (including my picky Aunt) were also very happy with their dishes. The staff were quick and efficient.
Overcooked, under portioned and tasteless. Had to ask for sauce for fish and butter for the meager bread basket.
Its like a cafe by the track. Quite tasty. The waitress is very nice! Parking: There are enough seats Kid-friendliness: Nice waitress. She gave the children ice cream.
Awesome food. They didn t have lasagna on their menu but the chef made it especially for us. The calamari is also wonderful!
Not good steak was like a steak from Walmart. More fat than meat. Cold dessert not warmed up. Harveys is better.
Takes too long. Doing food deliveries and waited over 20 minutes... the best part is that there is no one eating here, so why the long wait time????
Amazing service. Kind staff. Margarita pizza was delicious and well made :)
Food is really good. We have never ordered pizza.. Their three course meals our our choice usually.
Yummmmmmmm worth it I love the spaghetti I just wish the spaghetti wasn t cut, but it was OK I loved it
I would like to eat dine in but the guy was acting like he doesnt want to accept my order and it was only 8.15pm, they close 9pm because of this guy I had to got my food take out, very unrespectful guy,he is cooking foods, owner should fire him immediately cause its not okay to act customers like that when they still have 45 min for closing time !!!!
First time ordering, food took over 2 hours to be made. Cancelled my order. Won t ever order here agian
Easily one of the best Italian spots in Scarborough. The pizza was divine.
I had high hopes... Unfortunately the food didnt match the descriptions.. The calamari was so over salted/seasoned, we threw it out The pastas were so bland that we tried unsuccessfully to doctor them up The chicken in mushroom sauce was bland but edible Food quality was fine, but thats it 3 pastas 1 main An appetizer and a basic pizza and a salad $170 Should have been enjoyable... it wasnt :(
We had a party of 8. Dinner was absolutely delicious. The servers were so genuine and friendly and we were not rushed in ordering or leaving. Very good value for your dollar.
Been to this place a few times already and they never seem to disappoint us !! Amazing food and great service
Good place for a nice quiet meal...
Slow service even though we were the only ones there. Brunch menu food was not good at all.
Went here for brunch, only people in restaurant, took 30min to get food and 15min for a drink. Crazy slow. Pictures of pancakes werent what was shown in picture, very deceiving. Pancakes very thick and not fluffy. Table syrup instead of maple syrup. Sausages soaked in oil. Also out of box tartufo not good variant.
Went tonight for Valentine s Day and had a horrible experience. We had came here last year (first vday together) and it was nice portions and attentive wait staff. They had a set 3 course menu option, but you could also order off the menu. This year we came back and it was not the experience we were expecting. First off our waitress was horrible! (Not just to us) She completely forgot my request for water and a menu (more then once) and I could not even find another staff to ask as they were all in the kitchen. This year it was just a 3 course menu (soup, main, dessert) you could not order off the menu. My main meal vegetables were burnt and flipped as if I wouldn t see when picking up the food to eat it. They also ran out of the desserts that were on the set menu and offered tiramisu (it was frozen). The waitress told me they were under new management I definitely would not recommend this place now.
My boyfriend and I went for Valentines day last night. We ordered from a set menu they had for the occasion. Our food took a very long time. I ordered the rigatoni which was supposed to come with roasted mushrooms and spinach. Instead it came with onions, carrots and zucchini. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and scallops which was supposed to come with mushroom risotto. Instead he received two dime sized scallops and red rice that looked like it was tossed in salsa. Even one of the servers said that it was not the mushroom risotto. We were not informed that we were not receiving what we ordered. Even if they ran out, some people have allergies and need to know what they are eating. The server had to print our bill 3 times because she kept trying to over charge us for food we never ordered. And the entire restaurant smelled like sewage. Will not be going back. Dietary restrictions: Make sure you ask what is in your food because they do not follow the menu specs. Parking: Lacking in parking spots because it is in a plaza Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are way too close to each other
This had to be the worst Valentines Day experience at a restaurant I have ever had. When we entered the establishment, we were greeted by a gentleman who after I told him we had a reservation pointed with his chin to the various tables we can sit at. My girlfriend asked if they had any mocktails and the waitress brought her a cocktail menu. When we tried to explain, she didnt seem to understand. So she asked for a Shirley Temple a commonplace drink you can get at any establishment. The waitress didnt know what a Shirley Temple was. I can see a fully stocked bar so a suggested she ask the bartender. The waitress returned stating that they dont sell Shirley Temples. Apparently there was no bartender working on Valentines Day, whichi find very strange. The waitress then took our order. My girlfriend asked for the 8oz steak but the waitress never asked how she would like it cooked. I had to tell the waitress to make sure it was medium well, in turn she repeated back medium rare. I had to repeat myself several times throughoutthe evening. I ordered the seafood risotto. Thirty minutes later the waitress asked if we would like to have dessert. My reply was I would like to get my main course before I consider the desert options. Finally when we got our mains the steak was burnt on top and smothered with gravy. Heres the kicker the steak was medium rare. My food was equally disappointing. The rice was not a mushroom risotto as advertised and the shrimp was overcooked to the point that I was unable to peel the shell off. Upon further inspection the shrimp was not even devained instead a long line of poop wssdown the center of the shrimps. We asked for water and the waitress brought a used bottle of water from another table that was half full. I couldnt even eat my meal and sent it back after a few bites. My partner did the same. Several tables around us were making similar complaints including the table next to us in which the husband received his meal before his wifes. They told us that she also ordered the seafood but instead they brought her pasta. I asked to take the dessert to go, one cheesecake and one strawberry shortcake. The waitress brought over two cheesecakes on plates. I told her I requested it to go and that the order was wrong too. In turn she told us they ran out of the strawberry shortcake but neglected to ask us if we would like something else, she just assumed. Instead we opted for the tiramisu in substitute forbthe strawberry shortcake. We we got the bill there were no adjustments made to the even though we sent back the main course and stressed our dissatisfaction with the whole experience, which boggled my mind. But heres the kicker. When we arrived back home we decided to eat the desserts, the tiramisu was frozen. 0
Food and service was fabulous. Only downside was the air freshener smell from the washrooms. (My nose is super sensitive, nobody else noticed it!)
Back of the house is fantastic! The food is always good, and you get a great portion for your dollar. Sadly the restaurant has no consistency in the front of house. They ve had good servers over the years from time to time, but it s never consistent and can be very disappointing when you re looking forward to a meal out. There are some very big issues with smells in the basement. IT STINKS!!!! It s a real shame. The chef owner is very talented, but for me it s not worth it if the service sucks. Order take out. The penne porcini is incredible.
I was surprised... pleasantly surprised! What surprised me was not how good the food was, or the portion size... what took me by surprised was how very reasonable the prices were. (see my pictures of II Frescos menu) The service was attentive, the atmosphere was Italian. I highly recommend trying their stone bakes pizza.
We celebrated my nephews Birthday -we were very happy with the wonderful food; great steak, mussels and pizza -- staff was fabulous ! -- we will go back!
Ordered 3 course meal with Mussels for appetizer, seafood risotto for main, and caramel crepe for dessert. The seafood was very bad and I ended up not finishing either dish. The seafood had a texture as if it had been microwaved. Going downstairs to the bathroom, there was a pungent aroma in the air too smelling of fish. There are plenty of good Italian restaurants in the city, and I would avoid this one
One server on a Friday night, she was also the bartender, wasn t her fault but everything took a while. Wine glass came with lipstick on it, and the house red smelled like rubbing alcohol. Not sure why the antipasto came with vinaigrette glaze all over the cold cuts that was odd, would have appreciated it just on the greens. The pasta sauce on the gnocchi was terrible, and the mushroom risotto was very bland. Brought my girlfriend here because prior to covid I had been a couple times and really enjoyed it to the point I had dessert, espresso and took home a pizza because the food was so good. Not sure what happened to this place but what a shame it used to be a great place for reasonably priced Italian food and now the only good thing left is the pricing. Last night I was so turned off by everything we both didn t finish our pasta dishes and didn t take a box to take them home which is unheard of for me, also didn t want dessert or coffee just wanted to get out of there. Also the musty smell of the dish pit and or the basement was all I could smell the entire meal.
My wife and I both had lasagna lunch specials. It included a Caesar salad and garlic bread and everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. The waitress was pleasant and the room was very clean. We can recommend this place.
WOW! What a fabulous restaurant. Amazing food and friendly service. Our waitress, Maumita, was great. We will definitely be dining here again. Its a hidden gem.
Service was bad, and the food was coated in butter. My salmon was overcooked, and the balsamic glaze had no flavor to it. Do not recommend it if you enjoy actual Italian food.
This place is a gem and a must try! Huge portions, quality ingredients and delicious. Friendly staff and clean.
What a GEM!!! Absolutely delicious food with very reasonable prices. The staff are super friendly, I think I will be spending a lot of time in this place!
We ordered 3 different meals for takeout. Pasta tasted the same in all. Mussels smelled and tasted spoiled. Chicken was hard to chew. Don t recommend.
One day my boyfriend and stumbled across this hidden gem of a place! The food is absolutely fantastic, huge portions, and with inflations being in effect you would think the prices would be high - nope extremely reasonable! The place is clean, staff are great! All around great small business!
Very nice Italian. Generous portions, cordial staff. I would come back again.
Food was very good. I got a pizza to go but it was very good, much better than the chain pizzas around me. I have heard nothing but good reviews about the restaurant from others I shared the pizza with.
Awesome food. One of the very few stone baked pizza places around. It s so good. Parking: Limited parking use lot next door.
Very nice people, food is poor quality. We got mussels in white wine sauce, calamari, caprese salad and I think pescatore linguine. It costed about $85. The calamari was frozen from a box, you can tell from the breading. The mussels were not cleaned, although not a big deal, but the sauce tasted spoiled, maybe the portions of white wine and lemon were off, with not enough salt. The mussels themselves were not good quality. The bocconcini also tasted spoiled in the caprese salad so I didn t finish it. They seem like nice people but the ingredients are not fresh.
The food came fast, and it s super delicious.
Excellent food great service
Its an old restaurant, food is good & good price. However excessive humidity is a major issue there, renovation is a must.
Found this restaurant on the internet and went with my wife and brother. The place is very clean but rather spartan and didnt really have an Italian vibe. There was a noticeable odor in the air that was not quite strong enough to be a problem. When my brother went to the restroom in the basement, he said the odor was much stronger down there. The soup of the day (red pepper) was quite good. However the fried calamari was very average. It seemed to me it came out of a box and was either microwaved or air fried and quite bland. My penne porcini was ok but way too many mushrooms which overpowered the dish. Couldnt really taste the spinach and frankly again, somewhat bland. The lasagna special of the day was good, but again average. Based on this one experience, I would not go back.
Our orders came out fast and hot. Delicious pasta and pizza. Not too many people in the restaurant.
Great staff and food
Im sorry but the food is not Italian and you guys shouldnt serve something you cant make..the service.. I really felt sorry for the girl she looked like a new girl who didnt know what to do or what to say.. nice girl thats all.. get someone who knows how the kitchen works... I complain about my food but no one came out... they just send the girl back to ask if I wanted another pkate... I waited too long for the first one to wait for another dish Sorry not going back
Had good pasta and pizza here. Service was great. Price was very reasonable. Definitely would come back
Great service, adults and kids enjoyed their meal. Was expecting slow based on reviews, but actually didnt wait that long for our order of 4 items (10-15 min). Will return!
This is a hidden GEM! Nice, small and intimate place with great food and excellent portions. I will definitely go back. We had the oven baked pizza - excellent, spaghetti Bolognese- very good, and the bruschetta -also excellent.
Food and service was great !!! Dietary restrictions: I asked for no salt or sodium and they were able to accommodate me Food : 5/5 |
Pizza was a 6.6, still not sure if the cheese felt too much because the pizza was sitting in the back and the front employee had no idea there was a pick up order. Restaurant looked nice, clean
I can t say enough about this wonderful restaurant , and the amazing chef/owner , Chris. He took time out on his busy thanksgiving day at the restaurant to deliver the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner to me. It was over the top amazing and Chris is a caring , generous human and a top notch chef on top of it
The food was great. Our server, Roshni, was very pleasant and helpful. I wish restaurants should hire people like her if they want customers to come back to their restaurant to have a wonderful experience.
Quiet little spot. Food is great and very reasonable. Service is amazing.
I really like the service of Roshini and other staff who really served well. I recommend Pizza and Veg Lasagna.
Food was at our table in 5 minutes and obviously prepared ahead of time. Chicken Parmigiana was overdone. The veggies were way too soft and linguine. was jist tolerable. Sorry to say we wont be back.
Il Fresco Restaurant is celebrated for its delightful Italian cuisine, serving a variety of classic dishes in a cozy and elegant setting. Known for its fresh ingredients and authentic flavors, its a great choice for those seeking a genuine Italian dining experience with a warm and welcoming ambiance.
A larger group of us came for lunch on a Saturday. The sevice was very friendly and accommodating. Food came out quickly as some of the group had to leave earlier than others. Soup bowls were quite large portion, could have been a lunch all by itself with the bread served at table. F0 ood was very good, but the soup was a bit salty for my liking and mashed potatoes were cold on one of the orders. Very good portions, youll need a takeout container.
The italian food is good and to the mark but inside the restaurants there were fleas or some small insects which means cleanliness is not great. The restaurant looks dark and the ambience is not up to the mark. But food is ok. Orices are not too high but not too low. Vegetarian options: Not too bad. Not too good
Its like old school cooking I grew up with. Service was great and our cocktails were yummy. Take out is busy so for me thats a great sign. Comfort food.
Came here last week. Great service, super friendly wait staff following all covid protocols. Prices extremely reasonable for the set menu. Dessert was so delicious. Only thing is the pizza didnt taste authentic (Italian), it was still tasty though, just different. Overall would recommend for the good food and high quality service.
This restaurant used to be fantastic! Sadly, I dont know what happened. Their chicken and veal Parmigiano used melt in your mouth. We used this restaurant in December to cater an event. Truly disappointing. 1. Dry chicken parmesan 2. They forgot to give us the rapini 3. They gave us the wrong salad and when I told them I ordered baked goat cheese salad, I waited another 15 minutes for about 8 slices of tomatoes (order was for 15 people) with a teeny smudge of goat cheese on top, along with roasted vegetables. Not good 4. The tiramisu was made with ice cream and was a pile of mush when we got to it. I am truly disappointed with this restaurant as it used to be the best Italian restaurant in the area .
Flew from Alberta and it was my first dine in place. Food was gud, little expensive
Very disappointed in the service and food. This is the second time we have been in the last few months. I wont be going back.
Terrific wood fired pizza. Excellent service. Really good!
This place has terrible food and service for dine in. Not sure about the pizza...but save yourself a terrible experience!
Food was cold and Service was terrible
Excellent food
Beginning of dinner was great, food was wonderful, however when we received the funnel cake fries, the top ones were hot and fresh but the bottom ones were cold and stale. Then it took a very long time to pay our bill.
If you like bad tasting food that gives you food poisoning, this is your joint!
I had an amazing Dinner last week. Great food, friendly staff. The price point was very reasonable. I am looking forward to my return.
Good food good price
So trash
Good portion size, salmon was tasty. Salads we good size and dressing was flavourful.
pasta was excellent, the seafood pizza was amazing too, thin crust not charred. cooked just right. Only gripe is the chicken wings, i guess its to be expected for getting wings at an Italian restaurant.
Best food in town!
The food was excellent and great service. Birthday brunch and ended with crème brûlée ! If you are looking for great Italian food try this restaurant
They always provide good service and good foods. Much better than those operated by Italian in the nearby areas.
I wanted to try a new pizza joint and stumbled upon Il Fresco. Ordered the Nove Pizza. I really liked the stone oven touch. Pizza was fresh and tasty.
Thought it was going to be a let down as waitress was kinda CLUELESS but was pleasantly surprised as the food was delicious. Could use sprucing up as the decor does not live up to the amazing food.
The food was good, service was fine, but please turn your air conditioner up, the restaurant was too hot!
We came to celebrate my hubbys birthday. We ordered the 2 way mussels in tomato sauce and the creamy penne porccini with spinach and mushrooms. The food was good. The qualities large. Our server Lola was so helpful. We will visit again!
Very clean looking place with an attractive menu, lots of authentic Italian and seafood dishes and a wide variety of wine and spirits to choose from. My party had a variety of dishes and all were generously portioned and tasted fresh (especially important with sea food). Everything was very reaonably priced for what you get! Theres no kids menu but my server went an extra mile to make sure my childrens needs were met and they were very happy! We dont live here locally, but if we did we would be return customers. Thanks Il Fresco for being part of our night! What would make this a 5 star review is a proper kids menu and some better ambiance. Local news on the mounted TV isnt terribly captivating. Play some Italian guitar to enjoy while guests eat delicious Italian food and youll have a special place!
Good menu and delicious plates.
Was very surprising with how good the food was. The Carnivoro pizza was delicious but what surprised me was the steak and shrimp was just as good. Highly recommended!
Have been here at least a dozen times. The food is fabulous, portions large, drinks divine, and the staff welcoming and knowledgeable. My favorite dessert is ALWAYS Crème Brûlée, a winner every time.
Decided to just go try the pizza I was driving by the area was actually very impressed pizza was excellent service was good little slow for a Friday afternoon lunch
Good portion, good taste, good tiramisu. Foods are better than many fancy restaurants in Scarborough.
I am so happy I found this scarbrough gem. I absolutely recommend the stone pizzas. They are the perfect thinness and a wonderful size for 2. The ingredients where super fresh and very affordable. I found out about this place through a advertisement in a local paper and said I want to try this place. We picked up and I was super happy. So... the place is super clean.. but I wish the inside had more of a cozy feel. The menu is amazing just lacking a cozy environment. But they are so nice Im sure you could call and ask them to add a candle light and a table cloth for a special occasion
Not what I think of when I think Nice Italian restaurant... Soggy, wilted salads... Not very tasty meals.
Food was yummy. Service staff was friendly.
Amazing pizza, ask for the garlic dip/sauce. Youll get a big portion!
Great portions reasonable prices. Friendly server. Hidden gem in Scarborough.
Great local place. The woodfire pizzas are delicious. The server is lovely and cares about her job. Good variety of menu items. Would recommend a visit here for sure.
Nice and cosy atmosphere with real Italian music on the background. We tried pizza this time and was good, honest food. The waiter was always polite and did a great job. We will definitely be back for the second round to try something else on the menu. Ciao!
Best place for party and dine in
Its great restaurant
Pre-ordered there holiday special for New years Eve. It came with soup or salad and dessert, it was delicious.
My best Italian restaurant in Toronto. When I came there for the first time, I didn t think that much of this place, as it was in deep of Scarborough. But when I tried their risotto with seafood, I got in love with this place. Also, their breakfast menu has a lot of options. Even during this hard time, their risotto is still the best dish I have ever tried.
Best pastas! When have them in your car its always the best! Until they they open for dine In!
Talking about strictly quality of the food, ordered 2 calzones well done and they were the best weve had. Toppings were perfectly portioned, not greasy at all virtually a couple drips which is not the case with a dish like this and the flavour and freshness was outstanding. Was a bit pricey as each topping is an additional $2 but whatever if you want good food its worth it.
The tiramisu was to die for and the pizza was delicious. The risotto was a tad too salty for my liking, but the mussels were light and very lovely.
I ordered dinner tonight for my family. My order was the saltiest pasta dish I have ever had. It was not edible. I am not sure if it was just an accident but it was not good.
If you want a variety of choices of delicious pasta, this is the spot! You get a lot for a great price as well.
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Scarborough. My go to are any of the stone oven pizzas. Pasta is also really good. Portions are huge and food is always flavorful and authentic. And you must finish every meal with their tiramisu, it is to die for.
Delicious authentic Italian cuisine! We loved the Caesar salad, carnivoro pizza, and fusilli rose. Our new favourite Italian restaurant. Definitely will eat here again.
Ordered from this place a few times on Skip and it was decent. Tried to support restaurant directly by calling them for pickup and the woman seemed very confused. Pasta dishes on Skip The Dishes offer a bunch of free toppings, and when I asked her about adding them to my pickup order she said Im not sure if it costs extra as if she didnt know what I was talking about. Why would it cost extra when its free on your delivery partners?? She did nothing to try to help the situation, so instead, Im going to order next door from Vi Pei Bistro, who doesnt have issues like that.
We were all very disappointed, tomato sauce was to salty and not much taste and gnocchi with rose sauce was not good either, my friend ended up not eating it Impossible to go back And even do it was advertised on their menu folder 10 % of above 30 and taking out, I had to tell them 3 times about before he did it and still he ssid he was doing me a favour Really???? We should have gone back and made them taste the food. You know we were celebrating a friends birthday and it was an embarrassment
Stone oven pizza with delicious thin crust. Clutch to put the sausage under the cheese. Chicken Parm portion was healthy and excellent texture. Ceasar salad has a nice tang to the dressing, house made garlic aioli. Chicken in the pasta was slightly overcooked. Recommend for a 20 minute takeout spot. ~$70 taxes in for these 4 items. Call for 10% off orders above $30.
Best restaurant I ve ever been to by far. Not many Italian restaurants in Scarborough and this one never disappoints. Kitchen and waitresses are kind, friendly, and welcoming every time I come here. Absolutely my go to when I m craving quality, fresh ingredient pizza and pasta. The linguini buongusto and the penne porcini are absolutely delicious (I m a white sauce pasta guy so these are my personal favourites) trust me when I say you really can t go wrong with anything on the menu cause everything is amazing. highly recommend finishing off with the tiramisu for dessert, super moist and packed with flavour. Definitely coming back again when they open dine in as well! Thanks il fresco!
We has Veal Parmigiano, Linguine Buongusto and Carnivore Pizza. The food was all fresh and tasty, the server was incredibly friendly. He even gave us some tips on sites to visit! Highly recommend!
Old decoration and furniture. The food was not so good. I asked for a well done steak and I got a well burned one! Have some paper towels with you since there is none in washroom :) The 3 stars are just because of their kind waiter and their fair price.
This was such an amazing experience! I planned a little private party here for my dads 60th celebration and I am so glad I did. From the moment I called with my ideas and straight through to the last moments of cleaning up after the event I was treated like family. The cook was so friendly and accommodating. The price was very affordable! The service was unmatched. Shout to Abby for making sure everyone was ok and taken care of. They are amazing. I cant wait to go back:)
Great local restaurant! Had a family birthday party here and everyone loved the food, the attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. We couldn t have been happier with the experience.
Ordered the 3 course meal for 34$ and totally enjoyed the food. Food is good and hospitality given by the person at the counter is exceptional.
The Italian food was excellent and even the dessert is to die for . We will definitely will be back . A nice hidden gem for Italian food in Scarbourgh . You won t be sorry you came here .
Best Italian restaurant in Toronto first time i finished all my food in a restaurant
Service was great, friendly and knowledgeable. Pasta is always great. They even have limited supply of gluten free pasta. Spinach and Pear salad is a must!
From out-of-town. Picked this restaurant based on the reviews. Disappointed. Surprised at the location but not a big deal. The waitress was absolutely lovely. She went above and beyond to make guests happy. The food. The food took a long time. The portions were huge. The quality was disappointing. Chicken was dry. Sauce was watery. My friends food was starchy and bland. These stars are for the waitress only. Busy place (take-out orders) so I assume it was just a bad evening.
One of the worst restaurants in Scarborough (Update) They had made me wait for 30 mins and spoke rudely to me when I asked what happened to the order. Then they call me and abuse me, threatening me to come to the restaurant so that they can beat me up just because I gave 1 star. Hope the restaurant shuts down Wow such great service they provide.
Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff! Great Italian place in Scarborough would highly recommend! Taste good and is affordable!
Friendly service and big portions of tasty food.
Loved their stone fired pizza supper thin, crispy and tasty. Would have liked some ambiance, some music and lighting or candles on the tables. Will go again
Nice people, great food.
Service and food was great
A hidden gem! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at the wonderful, unostentatious Il Fresco Italian restaurant on Kingston Rd, Scarborough! I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices for items such as steak and seafood. I was visiting my brother and we decided to try something new. So glad we chose this restaurant based on the well-deserved high scores on Google. The restaurant was clean, roomy and welcoming. I loved the booths: so comfortable and spacious. And the food: fresh, well prepared and delicious! We decided to go for a Prix Fixe meal: amazing mussels in tomato sauce for starters, medium rare steak (excellent!) with mashed potatoes and fresh grilled vegetables on the side, and for dessert: RASPBERRY TARTUFO. my brother mopped up the tomato sauce from the mussels with warm wedges of sourdough(?) bread. I ended up using my spoon because I didnt want to leave a single drop of that delicious sauce behind! The food is EXCELLENT at Il Fresco: dont be fooled by the low-key, uncluttered decor: this place is a treasure! You can be sure we will be dining at Il Fresco again next time I head out that way! Top stars for excellent, friendly service! (And thanks again for the complimentary mimosa on my milestone birthday!!! Such a lovely, friendly server: she was so attentive! Do yourself a favour and experience this fine dining experience in a low key setting: we were so glad we did!
The food and the service are amazing. We ordered the steak, seafood pizza and the salmon, all are freshly made. It is definitely value for the money with the quantity and quality provided.
Amazing food and great service. Il Fresco is always ready to please.
We had a great experience here! Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The owner and staff are so friendly and make you feel like you re at home. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great service and good tasting food!
Myself and my family had a wonderful time at IlFresco s! I heard of them from a friend who had a small wedding reception here. I was trying to plan a surprise party for my brother and reached out to Bronson to see if they would be able to accommodate a small event and he was on board. He was very organized and fair and I could tell he wanted to ensure that everything was planned properly in order for the night to run smoothly. We had a successful surprise and my family and friends all enjoyed themselves. I really enjoyed their stone oven pizza and would highly recommend the Carnivoro Pizza. The food was fantastic , the drinks were great, and we even had a Dj. Great space and quality service! Thank you to Bronson and his team!
Perfect hosts. Food was great
I am pretty impressed with the quality of food at Il Fresco! Certainly above average Italian food and the portions are quite big. The prices are also unbeatable in my opinion. Happy to support this small business as its worth every penny. Thank you for the great meals!
Place was absolutely dead when I went with my buddies on a Saturday afternoon (The creepy type of dead). We all ordered pizza so I cant say anything about how the rest of the menu is but the zaa was decent (nothing special). At least it was thin crust. Probably wouldnt go back tho as the ambiance and service was mediocre (did not feel authentic Italian at all, more like sketchy Scarborough bar feel )
Food has always been perfect. I recommend the bruschetta and one of the many stone baked pizzas. The older gentleman waiter is very friendly and good at remembering faces. He is funny, personable and never makes a mistake. The oriental female waiter is very excellent as well, she is smart, fast, and never makes a mistake. The chefs are very nice too, and receive compliments often !! All in all, the atmosphere is amazing and definitely deserves a 5 star rating
Its a seemingly simple restaurant in a place where you wouldnt expect great quality but I was convinced due to so many positive reviews and it wasnt disappointing at all! I ordered from a fixed 3 course menu and ended up taking some take out. Portions are big and affordable, while they dont loose on their quality Pizza as main was a great choice too! I loved it. Service was nice and able to accommodate my order when asked to have a mild dish instead of spicy like it said on the menu All in all, will be coming back to try other dishes here!
Very delicious food, great service and gotta make reservations on a Friday Saturday evening as parking can be an issue.
The customer service was great. Jazzmina had a very particular table, she did well. Her rating was a 5 for sure. The food was ok....
Amazing food and staff.
Everything looks good until you eat it & it s down hill from there, I wouldn t go back if the meal was free!
Steak was messed up. Very dry, and it wasnt completely tasty, they replaced it though. Completed with boiled basic vegetables it doesnt cost $ 22 for sure. Potatoes on plate were very dry. Other meals were very basic. Risotto was overcooked. Place doesnt cozy. Thanks service was good, thats why 2 stars only for. Dont recommend to go there.
This place is definitely quantity over quality. My first dish steamed mussels in a spicy tomato sauce was promising but my main, a seafood risotto was over cooked and blan. My wife had to send back her steak as it was well done and she asked for medium. On the plus side the service was nice and the had no problem providing my wife with a replacement steak with hassle. Price was good but in this case you get what you pay for.
Ordered their pizza to go in the past n never disappointed. Marguerita is pure n the crust was thin n crispy with a bit of chew... A perfect crust. Experimented with others n always left me satisfied. Their take on the pesto is nice n mild with a thick creamy sauce. Excited to taste their entire menu. I hope this place sticks around for awhile!
Great breakfast, Amazing pasta!!
Always great food and great staff
Just ordered the grilled veg and goat cheese salad and the antipasto. So disappointed with the really cheap quality of the ingredients. The vegetables were not grilled properly making the salad sloppy and wet. The chicken was obviously frozen and was dry and stringy. The antipasto was disgusting. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Loved this place! Really good Italian food, friendly staff that treat you like gold. Definitely going back!
Every time we have been there, the service was excellent as was the food! Great neighborhood place!
This is one of our favourite places to eat! So glad they re finally open for takeout!! We ve missed eating here for the past couple of months. I don t review places usually but the management and staff are always so accommodating, and I can t say enough nice things about them. When it comes to the food, this place is a gem! We ve eaten all over the city and this has to be one of the best restaurants for taste, quality, quantity, price and service! We ve tried quite a lot of things on the menu, and have never been disappointed. We ve brought our families and many friends here and they all love it and some of them travel ways away from their neighbourhoods just to eat here. Our favourites are the pesto penne, apple chicken and definitely a must try: funnel cake! We re excited to support this local neighbourhood restaurant once again and hope they stay open for many years to come!
My girlfriend took me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We chose the $28 fixed menu selection. Appetizer, main course and dessert. Great value and the food was delicious! The server was attentive and super friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. I plan to make a return visit!
Food and service was amazing! Portions were huge and delicious. Would definitely recommend if you re looking for quality pasta and pizza in the Scarborough area.
Its really good food, lets support local small businesses
The food was amazing...the quantity was a bit too much for one person to finish a dish alone...staff very friendly! we went for lunch and the ambience was ok.. so i couldnt take good pictures..
Our server was very professional even tho being over-worked. The food has always been good here, but the atmosphere is often empty. I noticed the manager wearing his mask below his nose and or on his chin. The cook never had a mask on. So some attention to detail and safety is warranted.
Really excellent food. The best calzone Ive ever had! Fried calamari was perfect.
Great customer service, especially the waitress who was very friendly and attentive! The foods were very authentic, have great flavors and good portion. The restaurant even gave us a free dessert for our 24th wedding anniversary dinner!
Loved the Pizza Service was excellent Good place for authentic Italian food
Best pasta with shrimp and asparagus
Pasta lacked flavour and was really really dissapointing after seeing all the great reviews. The staff was very kind though. Might give them another chance to try the pizza but definitely wont be getting anymore pasta.
Very nice staff. Amazing food and prices are amazingly good
Absolutely amazing! every dish was delicious. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Always fresh and delicious food. HUGE portions. A favourite of ours.
Great experience! The service from Mike was awesome and the food was delicious! Will defintely go back again:)
Delicious Italian food and large portions. A great local place for some good eats. Might be a place people just bypass due to the location but dont - give it a shot!
Great service and good food
It started badly with the bread basket. The bread was so small and thin. My wifes penne came with spicy Italian sausage. The sausage was almost shaved. We couldnt believe how thin it was. All the pieces added together wouldnt have made 1 decent piece of sausage. The service was good but the only waitress was running around a lot. No, I wouldnt recommend it.
Food was okay. Service was great even though they were under staffed. Id go again to give them the benefit of doubt.
Best pizza in town. Amazing. Fun Waiter
My family and I visited the restaurant as we were looking for something close to home. We decided to try it out after reading the reviews. The store is small but newer looking. I must admit it needs a little more deco to make it stand out. The food was excellent all around. We had a Cesar a pizza the seafood appetizer and pasta. The portions were enormous. The quality all around was really good. Usually when we go to a restaurant there is one item that someone doesnt like. But at this place everything was good. The lady that was serving us was so nice and attentive but didnt overdo it. I would definitely come back. Maybe order less good next time because of the size of the portions. They were definitely not cheap about it. All around 5 Stars
Service and food are always awesome here. Ill be back again.
Good noodles nice trees pasta sauce
Wonderful Italian food with reasonable price. The Prix Fixe menu offers great value with a large selections of entrees to choose from. The portions of the appetizer, entree and dessert are also huge. Highly recommend!
Tasty pizza, generous salad and pasta but music too loud and speakers are cheap producing an annoying tinny sound. Would have preferred whole leaf basil on my margarita pizza rather than small shredded bits scattered about.
Best mussels in Toronto Fresh ingredients pop in your mouth Generous portion
Tomate soup is amazing I love this place
I cant say how good the food and dessert was!! One of the best Italian restaurants in Toronto
What a great spot! The food was delicious and the portions were generous! The service was exceptional, thanks to our attentive server, Stratis. I would highly recommend!
Came here on a Wednesday night with family for my sisters birthday, through a coworkers recommendation. Had the 3 course meal, mussels/carnivore pizza/crepe caramel. Definitely can say for the price point portions where amazing! The food tasted great and the service was phenomenal. I wish I got the waiters name but he was awesome. So attentive and polite. Very enthusiastic and engaging. All around had a great time here. Definitely see myself coming back here for other occasions.
The restaurant is In a small plaza and doesnt look much but once inside the staff were attentive, the food was amazing and we would definitely go back. The four of us had different dishes but most of us started with a pea and spinach soup it was lovely. We the had a variety of main courses one had a grilled Seafood dish , I had spaghetti bolognese, one had the apple chicken dish and the last dish was a linguine con gamberi alm dishes were left clean! We were too stuffed for dessert but the coffee was enjoyable
