2272 Lawrence Ave E Unit - 1, Scarborough, ON M1P 2P9, Canada
Relaxed chain restaurant for signature & build-your-own pizzas, plus sandwiches & salads.
The food was mixed here... salad and pizza were nothing special. Pasta and meatballs (appetizer) were pretty good. It was a good experience for a novelty restaurant, but for more authentic Italian, we'll stick with elsewhere. If it's winter and you have to go to the bathroom, be forewarned there was no heat downstairs, so it was absolutely freezing. To top it off, the hand dryer didn't work, and they don't have paper towel. It doesn't apply to us, but if you're looking for halal options, they do have quite a few.
Ordered a margarita pizza through Uber eats ($17) and I received a regular cheese pizza-the crust is like a normal pizza not thin crust as pictured. No olive oil. No basil. This a regular cheese pizza. There’s no fresh mozzarella. Also the delivery comes in Pizza Nova boxes. Not sure if this is a pizza nova food chain but beware of false advertising
I am a firm believer that one of the best indicators of a good Italian restaurant is their tiramisu, and at least to me, the one served here is impressively good! Not "made-by-Nonna-with-love" good, but a pretty close second! Along with a cozy interior, helpfully friendly staff like our waitress Mariam, daily deals, and good, clean food that doesn't try to be extravagant or Instagram-worthy, this place will definitely satisfy your Italian cravings!
Nova Ristorante is a gem of an Italian restaurant that I had the pleasure of dining at recently. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the immaculate cleanliness of the place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming decor. The food was nothing short of spectacular. The ingredients were clearly fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, making for a truly authentic Italian dining experience. The staff were exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth from start to finish. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, which enhanced our meal significantly. In addition to the excellent food and service, Nova Ristorante offers great value for money. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the dishes and the overall dining experience. Overall, Nova Ristorante is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a top-notch Italian meal. The combination of delicious food, outstanding staff, spotless cleanliness, and fair prices makes it a standout restaurant that I highly recommend.
We hosted a large group of ~30 people for my son’s birthday with approx half adults and half kids under the age of 8. First, we skated at McGregor Community Center across the street and then went to Nova Ristorante for some food and cake. We went for dinner ahead of time to scout the menu, location, and to plan for the party. We went on a Tuesday, when kids eat free (if adults spend $30, for up to 2 kids). Our server Vessy was so kind and pleasant - she made us and the kids feel right at home. We left detailed instructions for the day of the party, including seating arrangements and preordered food. On the day of the party, I called an hour ahead of our arrival to confirm everything was good to go. The person I spoke with didn’t seem too familiar with the party but assured me it would all be good. When we arrived, they had half the restaurant sectioned off for our group and the tables set us as discussed in advance. Kids were served pizza at the table and adults had salads and pizza buffet-style. The service was excellent and they were very attentive. We ordered more food once we could gauge how much everyone was going to eat and it came out pretty quickly. It seems the restaurant shares a kitchen with Pizza Nova next door and leverages a lot of the same ingredients but has their own unique menu. The pizzas are similar to those of Pizza Nova in terms of crust, sauce and cheese; tasty but nothing super fancy. Our group enjoyed the food and it worked well for the party. Items that were particularly good were the arugula salad and the Basilicata pizza. We brought our own cake and the restaurant provided plates and cutlery to serve with no additional charge. An auto gratuity was applied due to the size of our party. The kids were pretty rambunctious at times, running around, playing hide and seek… the staff were SO patient, and never complained. We were really grateful that they were so understanding. We planned the party for 4pm so it was basically empty and we weren’t bothering other patrons. It was excellent value for the group size and beverages are very reasonably-priced. Many of the parents who attended commented how great the restaurant worked out. We’d highly recommend the restaurant for a low-key weeknight dinner, or for larger group events. The biggest highlight was the wonderful attitude and attentiveness of the staff - that’s not always easy to find, and we will be back to support this business. Thank you for making our party a success!
Ordered Uber from this place but i got the item from Pizza Nova. Guess its a chain of restaurant. If i had known i wouldn’t have ordered. The Pasta was very dry, they dint give the extra sauce on the side. The pasta was not cooked well. I paid extra for Chicken and got some 6 small strips which i cut into small pieces. they were try without any flavours.
Always wanted to visit this place. Was in the neighbourhood so I had to give it a try. The place was nice quiet just what I needed. The food was fresh and very tasty. Had the chicken parmigiana with Alfredo sauce as an upgrade. The server Vessy was absolutely lovely, she made me feel like family. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great family or social gathering. By the way, the restaurant has been there for over 60 years, ask about the history.
Celebrated a milestone birthday. Service was pleasant as always. Thanks Vessy. Xo. The food was correct, delicious and DID NOT take forever to get to the table... even as a party of 12. We didn't have a reservation and they made it work. Thanks guys. We will definitely be back! 5 ☆'s
Just ordered uber eats from here..a 12.95.+2.00 panzeotti and a 16.95 margarita pizza along with a chicken parm dinner...Recieved only the dinner and a disgraceful refund of 15.99...true class act...and restaurant acknowledged that they gave the order to driver prior to everything being ready. You want to support local and get poor customer service....you acknowledged you didnt send the order - you should have contacted uber to explain and indeed a full refund should be issued based on your error or at very least a full refund for the items not received, let alone the fact that only 1 out of 3 of us got to eat.....15.99 refund for items that total 32.00 is absolutely disgusting. You just robbed me...literally..
We ate cold pasta.. as if it was made in a microwave oven.. it does not deserve the price we paid.. I do not recommend it.
I got a slice of pep.pizza and a dip. Was cheap. And honestly one of the best slices Ive had in a long time. Vegetarian options: They have a variety of salads and pizzas Dietary restrictions: They will happily accommodate any dietary need if you ask. Parking: From and back of the building. Probably fits over 10 cars collectively. Kid-friendliness: The employees are great. And V(the lady with the pink hair) is great with everyone, she is a people person. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessible, just no button for access. A very slight ramp at the door
Absolutely no complaints about this restaurant. We love going there, as the food is dependable good, the service gracious and pleasant, and in a comfortable atmosphere.
Glad to see this restaurant has got good management now. Went in after year and so much better, food and service was great. Also new Halal options !!!
Annie is always so pleasant and professional! Keeps me coming back to this location weekly! Wonderful customer service and amazing quality food! Thank you for always being consistent!
Had a lunch meeting today, food and service was great. We sat on the patio and anyone looking for great pizza and pasta or Italian food in Scarborough, book an outing at Nova Ristorante!
Great place for food and gatherings. Lots to choose from in the menue.
The Old Pizza Nova Is Back! Same Menu, Great Portions & Reasonable Prices. Perfect For Events Ad Well!
Best place ever ! Service was amazing
They recently upgraded their calamari so its not to frozen stuff you get anywhere else. Squid not chewy at all. The arancini was crispy with gooey mozzarella. The bruschetta had garlic thick enough to count as a veggie serving (a good thing). Parking: Theres plenty of space legally next door all of 25 metres away in the rare chance the lot is full. Kid-friendliness: Boosters, high chairs and a kids menu available. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp where needed, main floor large bathroom.
Great food, great atmosphere! A true blast from the past!
The service is amazing. I really love to come again and have those delicious food. The vibe was just wonderful. Loved everything about this spot
Very small portion, with the price they charge customers, it is overpriced. Kid-friendliness: A spacious restaurant that is good for family size parties Food : 3/5 |
I love this place. Ive been coming here for 40+ years. Excellent food. Great people.
My cashier was very pleasant. Was a pleasure shopping here
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pasta and side dishes available. Food
The service is amazing . Food was great .
Service was terrible. Waited a longtime for the food to be brought to the table. We were hoping the wait would be worth it. It was not. Very disappointed.
Amazing food, friendly service and reasonably priced.
We didnt care for the salad dressing, which was our main dish.
Great service clean food was really good
Very friendly staff. Food was delicious.
amazing food and customer service
The food was cold over cooked and to much money for the small portions.all in all very bad .......!!!!
The 1 star reviews can be attributed to peoples ignorance and lack of knowledge. Nova ristorante is not a scam, its literally where pizza nova began in 1963 when a family of Italian immigrants, Sam Primucci, and his brothers Mike, Vince, and Joe decided to start an AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant originating from Palazzo San Gervasio Basilicata, Italy. Their first location opened on May 12, 1963, at the corner of Lawrence Avenue East, just west of Kennedy Road. They expanded into the pizza nova we know and love. This is not a scam by any means. This is 100 percent authentic Italian food, just like all pizza novas are. Educate yourselves before claiming something is a scam.
The place seems nice but where are tge customers. I was their with two friends for lunch, and we were only table in the whole place.
Don t get me wrong I really pizza nova but so much better to have fresh pizza here.
We went there too late and they are closing, but they stayed for us and keep the restaurant open.
Amazing staff. Went there late night, but stayed open for us.
Everything was perfect . We were a group of 14 people, we reached too late. Not only did they give us a good service also we received a complementary drink and fries too. Good job and nice service. Thanks
Our servers friendly attitude, prompt service, and expert menu knowledge made our dining experience truly delightful. Thanks Maryam for your great service
Ordered a pizza before the store closed for pickup and it s pretty clear they just reheated a cheese pizza that sat there and threw on some mushrooms. Just cancel the order if you re gonna give stale burnt pizza. Complete waste of money I wouldn t even have been upset if they just called and said we don t have time to make a fresh pizza. Would ve just got somewhere else that s open. Complete waste of money.
I ordered the arancini and the charcuterie board, and my friend ordered the Margherita Pizza. They didn t seat us for 7 minutes. They gave us a cheese pizza instead of a margherita pizza and they said they didn t have fresh basil . They didn t even tell us beforehand we would have ordered something else. Very disappointing because I used to come here a lot. I hadn t been in the last few years, but I guess the quality and care has gone down the drain. Also the tiramisu was frozen.
SCAM!! Ordered from UberEats as I had friends over and we wanted to try some new Italian food. It was framed as authentic Italian cuisine. We ended up getting a bunch of boxes of Pizza Nova food. If we had known this was Pizza Nova we wouldn t have ordered, especially at these prices. So disappointed. DO NOT ORDER
Horrible customer service and even worst pizza.
I was there with my husband... he wanted veal Parmesan and I the chicken Parmesan.. the plate looked nice but we got 2 veal instead... I had restaurants before and I know what chicken looks like we decided not to complain because it took a while for the order...the veal was pounded too very thin and over cooked.. was not that good... the server was very nice but never asked if we like another glass of wine...too bad you have a very nice place
I ordered steak and I am picky in these kind of food but I really recommend this restaurant red wine was a good combo
Good service but shrinkflation is obvious. $20 pasta dishes come with no bread or parmesan, and you get 6 ravioli per serving.
Came here for dinner with wife and 2 little boys 10 and 8, and we had a great time. Our server was new but very willing. Food was very fresh and had no issues. Ambience was perfect for a family outing, but was surprised how empty it was (consider that it was raining). One thing I would recommend for them to improve is the size of their pizzas. The kids meal I dont think is enough for anyone over 6 yrs old. So if you have kids older than that I would opt for 10 pizzas. Other than that, we loved it here and will be back.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Friendly attendant.
Tasty pizza, reasonable price with gift cards from Costco
Very limited selection of pasta...not worth the visit!!
Worst takeout customer service. Over charged customer for $200 . Reported to customer service. Location manager not even call about giving the refund. When I spoke to the manager , no apology about the overcharge . I had to call twice for him to process the refund. No sincerity to help me with the refund although he process it after calling again and again . I know it s a honest billing error but at least know how to apologize to customer and promptly give the refund .
Delicious food in a very cosy restaurant. The service is extremely lovely, and they make you feel welcome. There are no bad options on the menu, the challenge is only to decide what to try this time. I recommend this place for everyone who enjoys good food. Food : 5/5
Best pizza ever
I have eaten here before and overall that experience was not terrible and so we ordered out for my father in laws birthday and it was TERRIBLE. Not worth the price. The picture of the calamari versus what we got was less than half of the amount. Each of the meals were packaged poorly and the amount was not worth the price at all! The quality was just not there for what they are charging better save your money and go somewhere else.
Sat us in the corner of empty restaurant. Then put 30 people right next to us, all talking so loud with each other. Wanted to scream obscenity. Food was alright, nothing remarkable. Would maybe consider returning. But only if I were in the area.
I placed a pick up order from this restaurant using Skip The dishes , went to pick it up and was redirected to the Pizza Nova next door. The orders are being filled by a regular Pizza Nova! I thought I was ordering food from a nice Italian restaurant. Turns out it was a pizza chain under the disguise. Food
Decided to go to Pizza Nova number one. For such a storied pizzeria in the Toronto area surprised you didnt have more history more memorabilia artifacts etc. It was your average Pizza Nova it was just Pizza Nova number one thats all
Can you please bring back the ravioli with rosé sauce? I used to order it all the time during the pandemic. Ever since it was taken off the menu, there has been a hole in my heart. I still dream about it sometimes.
Used to be great food and wonderful service. Service was horrible and slow. I could not enjoy my entree, it was uneatable. The ravioli was like rubber and saturated with oil. Sad but we will not likely return. Very expensive and we did not even have alcohol or dessert.
Love this place, good service, great food.
We went as a group at school, and 4 people suffered from enteritis due to the spaghetti being made incorrectly. The restaurant said they were not responsible, so we went to a school activity every year, but now we have decided not to go anymore.
This place used to be my favorite! First time ordering in 10 years and must say kinda disappointed. Wasnt horrible, but I guess like a lot of places these days, quality control is no more. Wrong pasts came with order and they put a few sprinkle of cheese that I ordered on top. Who ever worked there 10 plus years ago was on point. Now not so much pasta alforno calamari and 2 orders of garlic bread 62 before tip and had multiple errors. Hope next time is better. Geeeeesh
I went there with a group from school and the food was bad for 4 people. The restaurant said they were not responsible, so I decided not to go there again.
ordered the pepperoni/ hot honey pizza and the ravioli in a clear butter-like sauce (i forget the name) i have had better frozen pizza in my life. it was extremely greasy with thin fragile crust. my boyfriends ravioli had no flavour at all- not the filling nor the sauce and was not topped with any cheese. we also ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was mediocre at best. portion sizes are way too small. you re better off just going to pizza nova urself for quality pizza
Excellent
The customer service here is horrible. I would recommend you go elsewhere.
Vegetarian options: Loved the spaghetti with tomato sauce So delicious
This place used to be my absolute favourite. The seafood pasta was amazing and quality was great. Under new management and it s just gone down hill. Service is ridiculous they don t even care anymore. The seafood pasta is the same price yet the ingredients are all cheaper now and it s made horribly. The bruschetta is even bad. I wouldn t bother wasting time with this place until they get their act together and if they can t I hope they close their doors for good. So dissapointing
It was a great pizza place and the staff were friendly, if your looking for great pizza and are in the area I recommend it. Parking: Its not large but its never full.
The staff at the take out counter did not have a clue what they were doing. Made a lot of people upset.
The worst service we have ever had. First, the waiter brought out our food one by one about every 25 minutes for a family of 7. Some were done eating before the next person got their meal. The waiter was chewing gum over the food while serving- very unprofessional. Food is alright if you want to wait 3 hours. Would not go back.
Avoid. Horrible service, substandard food, unequllative. The waitstaff was chewing gum while in the dining room, food was brought out slowly and one plate at a time. We had to ask multiple times for beverages. Each meal being finished before the next was brought out. Wait times exceeded an hour for a restaurant that had very few people in it. The food was salty and not fresh. Meat was tough and chewy. Nova is best avoid.
Drove here from Whitby with reservations on Mothers Day. Table of 4. Took our order for an appetizer and dinner at 640pm. Received our drinks with very little ice for 2 and no glass or ice for the third softdrink. At 740pm still no appetizer or dinner, no update as to where our food was and no refills on drinks. Went to the front to ask about this only to meet another couple that had been waiting to also complain about service. The excuse was as you can see we are busy. Several empty tables still and hardly any staff. We have been coming here for 30yrs and have never had a poor experience. Sadly this place changed hands and the service has severely declined. We wont be back and nor will the other couple as they stated.
Worst service ive seen in a while... not only server chewing gum with hos mouth open but very slow and expensive... soup tasted like canned as did the pasta sauce... dont think ill eat there again...
Please don t go here or you will leave raging mad. We got charged $25 extra for a gluten free dough. You guys don t even clearly label on the menu how much glitter doughs cost when all your pizzas are listed at regular prices as your pizza nova take out! Wowww .. very very poor service thank you for that we will NEVER come back again and will tell everyone not to. $43 dollars for a medium gluten free pizza are you kidding me???
Very, Very disappointed in this place. The food and the service have gone way downhill over the years Nothing like salt or pepper even on the table. Had to ask for Parmigiana cheese for the pasta even. Had to find the waitress over and over for nearly everything, she never came back to ask if we wanted refills or anything, it took extremely long waiting to pay the bill at the end. I get if its busy, but it wasnt, we were one of only three tables there.
Had a great experience, had 2 young men serving me and my kids. They gave my kids drawings to keep them occupied right away, and helped me out with choosing the items from the menus. food could ve came a little faster but that s alright it was a busy day. Keep up the good work nova!
We ve been a few times and both times the food has been amazing but the service is terrible. You are waiting to get served, for them to take your order and they just seem to be short staffed as they have one person doing everything! Be prepared to wait if you go
Enjoyed the food and ambivalence Vegetarian options: Available Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
The food was not really good. The ricotta ravioli is not homemade, yet frozen dry pasta squares filled with dry, clumped together ricotta cheese. The sauce was flavorless and salty. The bruschetta was bland and needed salt. This experience was not good, the last experience a few years ago was. I guess it may be new owners as this dining experience was far different from our last. We wont be back.
The food is excellent! The service not so much. The last 2 times we ve been they only have 2 waiters for the entire restaurant. The menu selection is also quite limited but again the taste of the food makes it worthwhile. Our favorite dish is the penne a la vodka and of course the pizza is great as well being that it is the original Pizza Nova restaurant. The problem is always how much tip should you give as the service is not the greatest.
Came here on Canada day Monday because it was the closest for drinks as everything was closed. Pizza is literally pizza nova pizza. Garlic bread was good though but might as well go to the pizza nova next door unless you needed beer like me. They also let my dog on the patio so thats nice.
Enjoyed my food, eggplant parmesan was delicious, but am hoping that the menu will be upgraded and expanded to the pre-pandemic level sometime in the future. I also wish there was more variety in the dessert menu.
I forget what I ordered but it was spaghetti with some type of cheese. No taste at all. Bit I cant speak of the other food
Still subpar food, still subpar service. I only come because of the patio.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, THE FOOD IS ALL FROZEN EVEN THE VEGGIE. THE LEMON CHICKEN WAS FROZEN AND AWEFUL SMELL SPOILED, RAVIOLI WAS FROZEN, DRY AND TASTELESS BUT MY HUSBAND ATE IT BEEN SICK SINCE THEN. ORDER THE bruschetta WAS JUST TOMATOES AND ONION TOSS ON A SLICE OF BREAD, THE SERVER LOOKS LIKE SHE DOESNT WANT TO BE THERE NO WATER ON THE TABLE AND WHEN YOU CALL HER OVER ITS LIKE U ARE ASKING FOR A FAVOR. Parking: I dont know
I come here regularly for celebrations with friends of the family, and Ive never once been disappointed. Every meal I have is so vastly different, and each time wonderfully tasteful. The service has always been nice, and the atmosphere has been very pretty and modest... I like that, honestly! Its a good refresher.
Half of the order was delivered. Very poor customer service on the phone when trying to sort it out and he hung up on me. Tried to give them a second chance but stay away, very poor service and doesnt represent the original Pizza Nova brand. Over priced, bad service, no care about quality.
Take out aint cheap! Hate when they mess up your order, walk in, didnt check till I got home, asked for goat cheese on half, they put it on the whole thing, my kid wouldnt eat, asked for 10 medium wings, 10 honey garlic, boxed separately both tens were medium. Not pleased, the same kid of 2 wouldnt eat the wings either. No wonder youre only a 3.8. Thanks my one kid had a grilled cheese. Idiots
Great experience. I highly recommend this location.
This is a cute little Italian restaurant. The food tastes fresh and flavorful. The ambiance is cozy and quiet. There isnt usually alot of people here but the quality of food is always amazing! Highly recommend and will definitely revisit! Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options
If I could put ZERO, I would! Placed an order online today. Was to be delivered between 3:45 to 4:30 pm. I sat outside in this heat, waiting & waiting & waiting!! I called at 4:20pm to make sure everything was okay and was told its on the way. Waited & waited, called again to now ask for a refund as its 5:00 pm now and again.. its on its way! Not even one phone to say . Hey, we are running late ... NOTHING! Finally got my refund 5:45pm Still not one phone to communicate with me. So disappointing, never again
Pizza was soggy led alone waiting over 20 mins
Good quality and price.
Was far too busy inside overbooked for the venue size, glad we got the patio instead
It was a very slow night but the design is cosy, food good, service a bit pushy but pleasant. Price on the high side but not stupid
Its always a perfect pizza
Great vibes with the servers and kids had a blast Parking: Free parking on the side or in front Kid-friendliness: Kids menu are ok Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
Their meat lasagna is fantastic.
First of all reservations were made 3 days ago and they had no clue when we arrived. There is just too much to say. Italian definitely not. Food quality awful. Sad if this restaurant is tied to pizza nova as they should be aware that their standard has definitely declined and wouldn t want my name attached to it
Great food - it all starts there. This place has great food - from the pizza with fresh ingredients - starting with a great sauce to the lasagne to the garlic bread. All top notch. The service was friendly and efficient by our waiter Hmid. He made good suggestions, accommodated and helped serve my large family, even when we came early to our reservation. We felt like we were home which to me means a comfortable, relaxed and happy atmosphere. If you are looking for all these things in a restaurant, then look no further. Give this place a try. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are certainly available for those who wanted this. Dietary restrictions: Requests to omit or add choices were accommodated. Parking: Lots of free parking right in front of the restaurant and more to the side in the mall directly adjacent. Kid-friendliness: This family - friendly place accommodates kids. Wheelchair accessibility: My husband walks with a wheelchair and had no issues getting into the restaurant or using the same level washroom either.
Wonderful food, great staff, good prices. I highly recommend the baked panzerotti (calzone)
Ordered a margherita pizza and this is what I got. What a joke. Called them and asked why they gave me a cheese pizza, they said a margherita pizza is a cheese pizza. If you cant tell the difference between a cheese pizza and a margherita pizza, You probably shouldnt be running a pizza shop. Yeah, dont waste your money here.
Subpar lasagna
My family and I, plus in-laws dined there February 2022. The experience was amazing, the food was good. The staff were attentive, efficient, friendly and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Had chicken Parm. Thin chicken and over cooked pasta. Not hat is expected from Italian restaurant. Would not recommend.
Still a great place to go for great service and foo6
Food is great, and the waitress that served my wife and I on our first date 30 years ago still works there
Worst customer services experience. Drivers are calling them self as they are from cooperate. Forcing people now to get a receipt. Forget about making orders and than swear at customers and kick them out.supper racist and toxic place please be aware.
A hidden gem in Scarborough! Delicious food and drinks. For main course, we had the spinach ravioli which was absolutely delicious. Followed by the honey flavored pizza. And finally the ice cream. The rosé wine was a sweet ending to the meal. I do Google reviews for restaurants. If you would like me to review more food items, it would be a delight. Instagram: sojourningmd
I don t know why this restaurant isn t busier. Absolutely lovely server, a lady with pink hair & a HUGE personality. The food was delicious, we weren t rushed, just attentive service, & great food. I don t understand the complaints, yes the menu is reduced, most restaurants have done that through covid. Remember many places lost an awful lot of money because of lockdowns, so obviously a reduced menu makes total sense. My friends & I were perfectly happy with the whole experience. Loved the hot peppers on the sandwich!
What happened to this location? Ordered the large pizza with 20 wing special for delivery and got 11 wings instead, I called restaurant to complain and was asked to send a photo of wings in the box, they did deliver 10 more wings after. all in all, the quality and service have gone down and the prices have gone up,, long time customer dining in and out, never again, shame!
Nice food and nice Ambiance
I ordered the chicken parmigiana for dinner but it bland and left me unsatisfied. Also order the tiramisu cake for dessert but it came out frozen.
yes my pizza was good but we have been here twice in the past year , each time we got the new waitress/waiter who started that night. 2 weeks ago we went, good pizza but had to go and look for waiter for my 2nd drink, we were his only table , he was busy watching soccer. My husband had dessert, a thin piece of chocolate cake $6.99 and a childs size scoop of ice cream on the side $4.50.REALLY.... $11.49 for that dessert. Went to Boston Pizza the following week, husband had dessert again. Hot brownies... he got 2 brownies, 2 scoops of ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate drizzle...$7.99 Pizza Nova you could do better on the dessert prices, no wonder we were his only table on a week-end night to boot
Slowest service ever And no minestrone soup
Food was ok. Not a busy day time spot.
Ordered Veal Milanese a popular dish. It was over cooked, tough & dry. Server apologized & took the dish back to the kitchen. I had Lasagna instead and asked if I can have arugula salad on the side for free. The server obliged and Im glad.
It was a toss between driving downtown to Spaghetti Factory or going here. Neither my husband nor I, felt like going that far so we both decided to try this place after being curious for several years to try it. The food was pretty basic, but I guess thats to be expected. Its not as flavorful as I thought it would be. Its something I can cook at home. Its truly nothing extravagant or anyt. Pretty basic flavor nothing to write home about. I wouldnt come again.
Our family has been coming here for 3 generations . Vessy has been our server for 30 years. She still is as bright and bubble as always. Oh and the food is still amazing. But miss the salad bar. We really truly come for Vessy!
We visited this restaurant on Mothers day. Our server by far was the best part of the experience. He was amazing however we did wait a very long time for our food to arrive. I found all portions to be very small. Mine and my sons pasta was not cooked enough when we were finished our meals none of us were full, which is very strange when your eating pasta, as pasta is very filling. When leaving I was really turned off by the fact that no one said thank you come again or anything.
Great food, great staff, my go-to
Its a hidden gem
The cuisines are great and delicious, the server is nice and kind.
Always the best pizza, worked here 25yrs ago .was the best then and still remains the same, owners are amazingly thoughtful to the areas needs, great place
Best pizza and great waitress.
Our server was wonderful! Very nice and friendly. Food came out fast and fresh. I ve been coming here for 5 years and it never disappoints!
They have horrible service they delivered a pizza to my house in a destroyed box and tried to act like it was ok very poor service and the delivery driver handled the situation very poorly. They tried to pass the soaking wet pizza box off to me that was falling apart at the bottom like there was nothing wrong with it as the pizza is literally falling out of the destroyed box. How disgusting is that instead of acknowledging it and doing the right thing taking it back right away and bringing another one . Not worth your money .. order elsewhere if you want better service
Unprofessional costumer service.
Usually had good pizzas and customer services. However, today I found very less cheese on my veggie pizza, even didn t cover the pizza properly.
Unexperienced waiter. I ordered a Virgin ceasar took 3 sips after realizing it had vodka. I went inside to ask if it was a Virgin and he said he didnt understand. I had to explain what Virgin drink was. At the end they charged me $ 9.00 I asked for the manager he sent his son who said all their cocktails are the same price... What a joke.
This place is the best pizza nova in a 20 km radius . Hands down.. consistently making my favorite pepperoni
The only good thing about the place is interior. Had capers salad, that was more like a Greek salad, surprisingly the pizza was bad, they serve better pizza in pizza nova next door. Would not recommend
Place is clean. Food is good. Ivana was a wonderful waitress and took care of all our needs. Also, they are open until 11pm which is convenient for some people.
Walked up ordered a pizza and it was perfect. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Would go back.
Safi, Dewar and all the staff were wonderful. Our family had a function here and all the food was amazing. Service was excellent and everyone raved about the food. I want to thank all the staff and Management for their hospitality. Everyone should come out and have a wonderful meal here!
I visit this location multiple times a week and get a slice or two each time. The look and taste is consistently good every time I go.
They have nice selection of slices on the pizza section. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend to come and try the pizza s and their pastas . Their dine in was impeccable and excellent service by the waiter and waitresses . I highly recommend their chicken parmesan and meat lasagna. Very clean and well maintained. They also have nice selection of wines and spirits. My favourite is raspberry pink blossom drink . Overall, i had a nice experience.
It was the best.
We came as a group of 4 late one night and browsed through the menu as weve never been here before. Not a big menu but a decent amount for selection. As we finally ordered after a few tries of our server trying to take our order. Food took WAYYYY too long. Approximately 45+ mins which was an insane amount of time considering we were the only table there. One server kept apologizing to us and saying sorry shes new which was obvious to us but we never had an issue. We found it inappropriate that he kept excusing her when it was very unnecessary. The first 2 meals arrived, rigatoni a la vodka and the other rigatoni one with the zucchini. We had to wait another 15 mins for the other 2 meals to arrive (both veal entrees with rigatoni bolognese). Again, the server was apologizing repeatedly. As decent as the food was, the amount of time it took for the food to arrive was horrible when youre the only table there.
I ordered for take out and was disappointed with the experience and food. The man on the phone taking my order struggled with what I was asking for- which was just menu items straight from their website. Apparently he works on the Pizza Nova side and couldnt properly punch in my order for the Nova Ristorante side, even though I called the Nova Ristorante phone number. I spent over 10 minutes on the phone! He told me that the pizzas couldnt be prepared restaurant-style because I was asking for take out (they would be made like fast food pizza). This made no sense but I was too tired to challenge him or change my order, after spending an inordinate amount of time already on the phone. He also couldnt pronounce the items on the menu properly. In particular he struggled to pronounce tagetelle. Why work at an Italian restaurant if you cant pronounce the menu items? The food was meh. I ordered a Margherita pizza, Portobellissimo pizza, lasagna, ricotta ravioli, tagetelle bolognese, veal cutlet sandwich, rigatoni Al vodka. The Margherita pizza was just a cheese pizza- no basil. Ludicrous because a Margherita pizza is literally three ingredients (tomato sauce, cheese and basil). The ricotta ravioli was supposed to be cooked in a brown butter sage sauce. It was just a butter sauce- no browning, very oily. The rigatoni Al vodka was quite good, but otherwise the food was lacklustre and disappointing. I will not be coming back. The service and food did not meet acceptable standards for a Toronto restaurant charging me lots of money.
Great restaurant. Beautiful ambiance and delicious food !
Food is GOOD!!
Great pizza but bit pricey $$
Great staff great food worth the wait.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
They have no idea what is minestrone soup - strange taste. A mix of sour and spicy. The bolognese pasta barely had any beef, and with overcooked pasta. Stick with pizza and portobello mushroom sandwich only. We asked for no cheese on top of the Caesar salad and the server did nothing to rectify it when it arrived with cheese.
Decent restaurant for Italian food and pizza, note that i connected (staff and physically) with next door Pizza Nova but different menu. (I think pizza might be the shared) Vegetarian options: Ok vegetarian options but not really vegan options Parking: Free parking Kid-friendliness: Had a kids menu and placemats
Great service
This used to be a place my wife and I would go to fairly often. Food was good and the service too. However, last night wasn t the case. We haven t been to the restaurant side of this place in a good while, so I guess things have changed a bit but not really for the best. The menu had shrunken down quite a bit and you can no longer order different sized pizzas if that s what you want to order and share. You can only get a small size. So we each ordered our own, mine definitely could have been cooked longer as the pepperoni was crisped enough and was kind of slimy. Seems like they just tried to rush it and time it with my wife s pizza but it didn t turn out too well. The garlic bread was very garlicky but at least the ceasar salad was decent. Our server was pretty slow too. Now the place was not busy at all, there was us, a table of four and then a table of two. The server seemed to be to the only one running the floor. So for a not too busy place, I can t see why the service was so slow. The price was a bit high too for two people to have dinner. We also order a couple of pasta dishes from here a previous time and the quality of that went down a bit too. The chickens was way over cooked and dry and the amount of food was less then before which felt like a jip because again it wasn t cheap. I get times have changed and costs are bit higher, but for what we ordered, the cost was just too much. It s unfortunate because this was a place we would go to often, even had our engagement party here too. Now, not too sure if we will return again.
I ordered a penne vodka with rose sauce over the phone. I drove 20 minutes to the restaurant, to find out that they decided to change my order to rigatoni with alfredo sauce. I asked why, and the attendant said the rigatoni is really good and I just have to try it. They didnt even apologize for making me waste $30 on a pasta that I didnt ask for, and drove 40 minutes round trip for under false pretenses. They really think its okay to treat people like this.
Excellent Chicken Parm, Lasagna and Rigatoni, one of the best Italian restaurants in East Toronto.
Great place, very consumable food that taste good!
So we went to this place with my husband to have dinner and I would say the place looks beautiful, love the interior, calm scenery and light. Coming to the food we ordered, we wanted to have starter squid ring with home dip(i forgot its acyual name from.the menu), it came with salad and the sad part is that half of the salad was rotten and I complained to the server (who was calm and i assume he is new to the place too) and told him let alone in a restaurant we dont make salad adding rotten leafs in our homes, and I dont think he understood what we said and came shortly after we told him to pick the plate told us its a starter, which we told him we know its a starter and our complain was for the rotten salad we were given. We then ordered Lasagna (well done) and ravioli spinach, the ravioli wasnt impressive and was below my adjection, but i have to be honest and say the lasagna was perfectly made! Price was okay too! Finally when we pay the pay we were told we can pay half for the starter (I didnt wanna argue, but we werent supposed to pay for it). I dont think i will go again, but if I wanna go again, i will only go for the lasagna. The 3 star is for the Lasagna. I could give it 0 star for the shock we experienced from the salad.
Very welcoming and clean place. I ate an excellent pizza with fresh ingredients. The very kind Ani who served the tables is kind and ready to pamper customers to make them feel at home. Absolutely worth trying. Average prices
Best pizza Ive had in an establishment for years. Excellent business meeting location, as you cant go wrong with the pizza!
Nova Ristorante is simply a large, restaurant-style seating area beside a Pizza Nova take-out location. The food will offend Italians. It is a mockery of Italian cuisine. The Mediterranean Salad had such potential, but it was completely covered in dressing. It was disgusting. The chef doesnt understand that dressing is used to augment flavours, not douse them. The salad was practically a soup. I suggest that salad dressing be provided in a container beside the salad so that patrons can add it as desired. The Veal Parmigiana was disappointing. The veal was overcooked (crispy in places), and the cheese wasnt melted properly onto the veal because it would not stay on the veal while cutting the veal with a knife. The spaghetti was lame. The cheesecake was good. There was nothing delicate or sophisticated about this meal. It was horrible fast-food. I regretted choosing to eat at this restaurant as soon as I saw the salad. The prices are very high, and the food is very bad. It is a mystery why anyone would return to Nova Ristorante. I still feel nauseous from eating the food, about six-hours later. I regret eating at Nova Ristorante.
Beautiful restaurant. Delicious, fresh food. We enjoyed ourselves very much, and well definitely be returning.
Nice place
Always great staff an great food, have never had a bad experience at this restaurant an have been many times. Its a goto for family birthdays. This visit was for our daughters 6th birthday. Great atmosphere an food is always on par
We had calamari was ok but the $18.00chicken and $18 veal sandwich was a tiny piece over cooked meat with no flavor was just tomato sauce we will not be returning as 80.00 including tip was not worth it waitress was fine but would rather go to California sandwiches for 3 times amount of meat for same $ it used to be great when it was a pizza nova sorry but waste of $$
Best pizza!
